Hello ! I positively adore the running joke of Idia unknowingly finding Lilia to be the coolest guy ever whenever he doesn't know it's him, like when Silver described his father, or obviously with muscle red. I can't say what'd be funnier, Idia finding out his online best friend is actually Lilia, resident spooky hyper fairy; or them both never finding out, and it'd become even more ridiculous as time goes on. How do you think it'll play out ? You're always so on point

(Also, though it makes sense, I'm still devastated bat boy didn't get a ticket for the Halloween skeleton train : ( does anyone mentions him at some point ? Like how he'd have fit right in with all those Halloween town little freaks, and how he'd have impressed them with his spooks and scared techniques; after all he's been every Briar Valley's children worst fear on Halloween for centuries. I'm on the eng server and I didn't wanna spoil myself by watching the whole thing on youtube)

you and me both, Idia and Lilia being oblivious online BFFs (+ Idia being incredibly intimidated any time Silver brings up his jock gamer dad) is my favorite running joke/subplot. 🤝 it's SO good, to the point where I also am unsure if I actually want it to ever be resolved or not...maybe, like, as a post-canon stinger or something? everyone's standing around covered in overblot ink, and Idia and Lilia's phones go off at the same time...

(legit I do think this is part of why Idia couldn't be present for Lilia's dream, because for some reason Lilia decided he was going to just. embody his past self online. he probably quotes his own battle strategies or whatever in the middle of boss fights. Idia didn't pick up on the whole "oh how weird that we both live on a super remote island" thing, but he would spend thirty seconds listening to General Lilia describing siege warfare and be like "w-wait")

all that aside, however it does end up happening, I do see Lilia being very blasé and all "oh! cool!" about it. y'know, taking it very much in stride! and Idia...very much not.

as for Lilia sadly missing out on Halloweentown shenanigans...he does get one little mention as part of an offhand reference to the light music club, but so far no one has brought up how this basically is just Lost In the Book of Liliatown (Sebek's been too busy yelling about not getting to be in the same group as Malleus). 😔 honestly though, it's probably for the best that he got left out, because he would just settle right in and refuse to ever leave. canon would shatter. we would miss out on all the delightful angst of episode 7 because Lilia is too busy eating poisonous shrubbery inbetween practicing his very best screams, and no one can pull him away from it.

(I can hope for a sequel next year though...)

I believe Bobby is coming back from the dead because I think we deserve to live in a world where Kenneth Choi gets to act his ass off by playing a simultaneously relieved/joyous and angry/furious Chimney, who feels like he has to thank Bobby, but also scream at him until his throat is sore because it wasn't fair to make that decision! he's going to say they should have played rock, paper, scissors and Bobby will chuckle because he thinks he's joking like silly haha Chimney, but Chimney is like "no, we should have discussed it, you died and I didn't even get to say thank you. you died and I owed you a debt I didn't even know about. you let me carry that" and he has to wrestle with the guilt of knowing that Bobby would do that for him, not just theoretically, but actual concrete proof that Bobby would die to save him. which they all know on some surface level that they'd die for one another, but it feels like such a far-off concept until it isn't. but Chimney also has to deal with the gratitude because Chimney is also so incredibly thankful that he didn't die. every step of the way he wanted Ravi, Bobby, Buck, and Athena to commit crimes, because he loves his life and he wants to keep living it. he's so overjoyed that he got to go home to his wife and kid, and that comes with its own guilt because how can he be so happy to be home when Bobby DIED. does that make him a monster? that on some level he's HAPPY that Bobby did that? and now he has to FACE Bobby. so he tries to be the Before Chimney who gets people whimsical gifts, but how do you give someone balloons about choosing your life over theirs? and he spirals because he's different now and Bobby is here and he has so so much he wants to say but all of it feels contradictory and unfair and he would normally go to Bobby for advice. so he does. he goes to Bobby and he says "what would you do, if you were in my position?" and Bobby just says "whatever you need to say or feel, I understand" and that just makes Chimney even more upset because what he needs is for none of this to have ever happened. its like they all got a re-do, but kept the memories and the feelings and now he has nowhere appropriate to put them. anyway, Bobby lives and we get Chimney angst yay <3 forever and ever.

when soldiers outside the 141 find out, they call him precious and self-obsessed, a vain pretty boy too preoccupied with his reflection to focus on the enemy. no wonder how he got his callsign. price has given up telling him to leave them on base and just teaches him to individually wrap them so they don’t rattle against each other and give himself away

what they don’t know is that each product contains an ingredient that when mixed with any number of the others, creates potent chemical bombs. he was caught unarmed once, he won’t let it happen again

You know what. I appreciate that Lucanis is perfectly fine with a silly Rook and loves them no less despite bs, even though, according to him, they're "impossible". As a 'silly goofy Rook who'd rather fight another dragon than drop the dumbass mask' haver, I love that for them, I really do, especially because Lucanis can be kinda goofy too sometimes. There's something very adorable about the fact that this scary abomination assassin with a reputation of a demon can make ridiculous jokes and find it endearing when someone else does it like it's their job, I think it shows pretty well what kind of man Lucanis actually is despite growing up in a family of assassins and being surrounded by death and tragedy since birth.

my further opinion is that: god. it is SUCH a missed fucking opportunity that the inquisitor never came back as a pc after trespasser, because... the well of sorrows geas? INCREDIBLE potential to integrate it with the gameplay.

like, how do rpgs usually work? you get quests in your log, and you can't progress until you do them! you can decide the order, maybe as you do one, another gets locked out, etc, but fundamentally your character is following a list of options and checking them off. that's... also exactly how the geas would work, haha.

like you suddenly get "gather 5 flowers and put them on mythal's shrine" as an unavoidable quest marker. you can't progress the plot until you do it. you can put it off, but it's always there! seems innocuous at first. maybe you get one that just says "go to sleep" and when you interact with your bed, you get a creepy nightmare vision of arlathan. then you get more and more specific quests - like during another quest, you get a popup to, idk, break into a specific room and take an artifact. and then go drop off the artifact somewhere else later when you get to a new region.

and the inquisitor does not have the option to say anything about this. and perhaps npcs will start to comment on them acting weird, and you start getting [leafless tree symbol] dialogue options, that you can select if you want, that allow you to speak elvhen fluently/do weird magic shit/bypass various problems/etc. maybe you avoid them completely, maybe you start relying on it a bit to deal with ancient elf stuff, up to you.

and then, at a certain point, flemythal decides to actually pull the strings. you've arrived at... idk, solas' ritual point, or some really valuable thing, and you and your companions' goals do not align with flemythal's there. so you pop into a conversation where your companions go "hey, why are you looking so strange? everything ok?" and then ALL your reply options are [leafless tree symbol]. and then it initiates combat. your inquisitor is now briefly hostile and fights the rest of the party as a distraction, as a dragon swoops overhead, does whatever flemythal wanted, swoops away again, and then drops the control once she's done.

he WANTED to love her so fucking badly. he felt no ill will towards her and he loves their son more than words can say. he thought the attraction, the way she felt about him, would come with time. it didn’t. he doesn’t want to hurt her yet was doomed to from the start, and he’s truly, truly sorry. this does not absolve him of anything whatsoever and she has the full right to never want to speak with him again. he lied! he pretended to feel the same when he never once felt anything but platonic affection! he’s been in love with someone else this whole fucking time! and their kid… he’s caught in the middle of it all, too young to understand why his father would hurt his family like this.

and then he disappears and never comes back. imagine you’re 5 and your dad goes to the middle of the woods with his buddy for science shit, all of the sudden your parents are yelling on the phone and signing papers, and then he goes MIA. for years.

imagine your husbands “buddy” was the one he was thinking of all this time, not you, never you. and the first chance he gets to run away from you, he takes, and you should have been suspicious by the rushed frenzy of it all, the phone calls getting shorter and shorter until it fizzles to nothing. he forgot to get you a christmas gift. he hand-made him two. there has to be something wrong with you, it has to be your fault. you wish you married the man he becomes when he’s in his presence.

he folded when you started questioning him directly - he’d been to neurotic to ever be a good liar. you thought he was the one. he thought you were nice.

by the time the divorce is finalized he’s different in a wrong way. confused, angry, forgetful, insane - if the giant homicidal robot pterodactyl you’ve been harassed by is any indication. (he’s had a bad habit of building homicidal robots when he’s mad since they met -engineer things- but it was never directed at her - thankfully it never actually does anything) he’s clearly abusing drugs - you’d feel bad if he hadn’t abandoned you with the burden of explaining why your son can’t see his father anymore.

it’s a rotten bit of your soul, but time heals you. you move on and no longer think of him. trust in your career. find a man who truly loves you with no motives attached. raise your kid to be a good man. and in a fashion not unlike shakespearean dramatic irony, this makes him move to gravity falls to find and take care of his father. you couldn’t care less what hee doing now, but damn it, it’s his father, what is the kid supposed to do? but its futile- he appears to have no remorse, hell, no memory of the incident in the first place. (this isn’t his fault but how are they supposed to know that?) so he grows bitter and cold just like his mother used to be.

this is too funny to me. hanako challenges teru in a "10 times game" (where you say a word 10 times and it supposedly makes you stutter or say the answer to the upcoming question wrong) so hanako goes "say 'campus' 10 times" but teru straight up tells the right answer ahead ('protractor') and hanako goes 'tch' skskskazkaz

normally, the game would go like this:

- say campus 10 times!

- campus, campus, campus, campus, campus, campus, campus, campus, campus, campus

- what tool is used to measure angles?

and the right answer is 'protractor' but the point of the game is that the person answering can accidentally say 'compass' due it being similar to 'campus'.

and here we have teru who is awfully prideful and absolutely doesn't want to do anything with hanako so he doesn't even say 'campus' at all and immediately cuts him off. also he might've done that in order to not risk actually losing to the ghost lol because if he's tired he can. the game messes with your head and makes you look stupid

I do like to imagine Eris ending up with a partner who’s actually super Normal and Healthy. I think it would be good for him eventually but in the beginning he would not know how tf to deal with them. me too!!! he would spook like a horse initially, but that sort of warmth and compassion would be so novel to him, i don’t think he’d have any sort of defenses against it once he let it in? he wouldn’t trust it at all, would suspect ulterior motive, would try to scare it away, but then when there’s nothing but kindness and kindness and kindness, he finds it has found its way into him without him even realizing. he needs it so bad. he has craved it for the whole of his life but didn’t know it could exist for him. (that’s also why he’s so susceptible to emotional manipulation and abuse — even a scrap of softness feels like everything to him. he would endure anything, do anything to keep it, to get it back when it is withheld.) but yeah eris learning how to equalize his emotions by doing it with someone rather than against them? good shit
