Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is one for the history books.
Palestinians are screaming to the world for help as they face the unspeakable, Israelis on the other hand are still getting their daily coffee and taking selfies for their Insta.
Yet they keep telling us both sides are suffering.
Israel has spent millions on their “we’re the real victims” propaganda tour, dumbass photos like the one above has done more damage to their PR stunt than anything I could hope to imagine.
So please people of Israel, please keep making your little TikToks mocking Gaza’s suffering, please upload your “day in my life” videos, please post your beach photos, please continue baking gluten free cookies for the IDF in your homes with running water and electricity. Because every time you do the world gets to see how the colonisers live vs. the colonised.

hey guys
let’s uh
let’s not spread misinformation about the israeli palestine conflict on social media to make ourselves feel political and activist-y and woke? please?
this is not jewish people vs. muslim people. this is not a religious war.
israelis are not evil genociders who are trying to wipe out the palestinian race.
palestinians are not terrorists. hamas are terrorists but palestine as a whole is not.
nobody deserves to die. we shouldn’t be saying that all zionists should die. we shouldn’t be saying that anyone who’s pro israel should die or that anyone who’s pro palestine should die. really, we shouldn’t be wishing death on anyone, and we shouldn’t be pro-anything but peace.
both sides are in the right and both sides are in the wrong. NOBODY should be dying.
do you really want to help the innocent people caught in the crossfire? actually do your research instead of attacking people for trying to have empathy for the other side. actually find it in your heart to want freedom and life for ALL people. not just palestinians. not just israelis. EVERYONE. that’s the only way this war will ever end.
it’s the fact that so many people on here just mindlessly “root for” palestine while completely ignoring why israel is doing what it’s doing, or vice versa. it’s ridiculous and hypocritical. EVERYONE in gaza is suffering. everyone. not just the side that’s the most talked about online in your little discord/tumblr bubbles. this conflict won’t be solved by putting flags in your description or wearing a “from the river to the sea” t shirt. stop making people’s lives a social media campaign. stop acting like you know everything about the conflict when you haven’t even talked to a single person who lives in gaza right now and is enduring this.
actually do research somewhere besides fucking tumblr, and stop posting fear-mongering, lie-spreading shit. or else you are making this whole thing even worse.

Have you noticed how almost everything that the anti-Israel crowd accuses people who simply recognize Israel's right to exist of, is (in additional to usually being false) stuff they're guilty of themselves?
Tumblr media
"You support ethnic cleansing!"
What do you think it means, when you chant the English translation of "From water to water, Palestine will be Arab"?
"You support an ethno-state!"
Do you call for the destruction of every single nation state, such as Germany, Japan, France, and so on? No? Then so do you. Have you called for the establishment of a Palestinian state? Then, so do you. Between Hamas ruling Gaza and being genocidal when it comes to Jews, and Mahmoud Abbas (president of the Palestinian Authority) stating no Israelis will be allowed in the State of Palestine (and by "Israelis" we all know he doesn't mean the Arab citizens of Israel, he's talking about Jews) that's going to be an ethno-state, too. Oh, you meant a "pure" ethno-state. Those don't exist in today's reality, and Israel, with 27% of its citizens being non-Jews, is no exception.
"Oct 7 didn't happen in a vacuum, you're ignoring the context of the past 75 years!"
You are ignoring big chunks of anti-Jewish violence during these 75 years, you're ignoring the expulsion of almost 900,000 Jews from Arab and Muslim countries, you're ignoring the anti-Jewish violence and persecution that preceded the establishment of the Land of Israel, and you're ignoring all 3,500 years (at least) of Jewish existence in and connection to our ancestral homeland, Israel.
"You support collective punishment!"
The same way you do, when you chant, "When people are occupied, resistance is justified"? Because that's what it means, that for the sin of Israel supposedly being a colonial state (a false claim, since Jews are native to Israel), you're justifying raping 13 year old girls, shooting them in the head, murdering Holocaust survivors, burning babies alive... what's that if not supporting collective punishment? (that's before we get into the fact that Israel not surrendering in a war started by Hamas is NOT collective punishment, or else we would have to define the allies not surrendering to the Nazis in WWII as collective punishment of the Germans)
"You suppor apartheid!"
All Israeli citizens have the same civil rights. Apartheid in South Africa was a system where citizens of the country had their rights limited based on skin color/ancestry. The issue in South Africa wasn't that racism existed (IDK a single country where racism doesn't), it's that it was codified into law, and used against the rights of that country's own citizens. Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs have the same rights. Non-Israeli Palestinians not having the same rights as Israelis, including as Israeli Arabs, is the same as French Canadians not having the same rights in the US as French Americans. It is NOT proof the US is applying a system of apartheid unto French people. And if it were, then I have news for you, every country applies different rights to citizens vs not citizens, so every country would be an apartheid state by this criterion. Which would make the word meaningless, and it would diminish the suffering of non-whites under South Africa's apartheid (as some young black South Africans who have actually been to Israel now point out). Meanwhile, I'll point back up to where Mahmoud Abbas said no Israelis (i.e Jews) will be allowed in Palestine, and that under the Palestinian Authority, a Palestinian can be jailed or executed for selling land to Jews, which means the PA demolishes the right to property (of Jews to own it, and of the PA's Palestinian citizens to sell it as they see fit) based solely on the ancestry of the buyer... And you support the PA, right?
"You deny the Nakba!"
I had never encountered any Israeli denying that roughly 850,000 Arabs fled Israel due to the War of Independence. Pointing out that the Arabs are the ones who started that war isn't the same as denying it happened. Meanwhile, the people who make this accusation, largely deny the expulsion of the Jews from Arab and Muslim countries, deny the suffering, discrimination, expulsions and massacres Jews had endured for centuries under Arab and Muslim regimes, and deny the atrocities of Oct 7.
"You support colonialism!"
Say the people who deny the native rights of the Jews, who act as if these rights are limited by time (as if such a limitation benefits anyone other than actual colonizers), who ignore the fact that Palestinians wouldn't exist here without Arab colonialism, or who wish to confer a native status unto them by virtue of... being settler colonialists for a "long time" (to be clear, the way the UN's definition of a Palestinian refugee works, it only requires a person to have been an Arab* settler colonialist in Israel during the 2 years prior to the founding of the Israeli state, to be recognized as a Palestinian. To become a US citizen, in addition to other requirements, you have to live in the US for at least 5 years, 3 if married to an American citizen. That means in June of 1946, it was easier to become a Palestinian "native" in the eyes of the UN, than an American citizen). Don't get me wrong, Palestinians have a right to live in the place where they were born. I can both recognize that they're here due to Arab colonialism, AND be okay with them living here. Just like I can recognize that no Americans today deserve to be displaced, even though the majority of them are there thanks to colonialism. And I don't have to pretend like Americans of European descent have suddenly become native (something that if I did, would probably hurt actual Native Americans), in order to recognize their right to live where they were born. It's just ironic that if we took the logic of the anti-Israel crowd when it comes to native Jews, and applied it to all native peoples, this would harm the natives, erase their rights, recognize their colonizers as natives, and generally help colonialism.
There's probably more, but I think this is demonstrative enough.
* Technically, the UN didn't specify ancestry. As an idea, you could be Arab, Jewish, a Polish Catholic priest living in a convent in the Land of Israel from Jun '46 to May '48, and you'd be recognized as a Palestinian by the UN, but in reality this definition ended up favoring all non-Jewish colonizers of the land. In 1952, Israel said, "It's okay, we'll take care of the Jewish refugees displaced by the War of Independence. No need for the UN to do so. This is what we set up a Jewish state for." This is in addition to Israel taking care of the Jewish refugees from Arab and Muslim countries, and Jewish Holocaust survivors. And for Israel's show of responsibility, the now-Israeli Jewish refugees have been punished. They don't get recognized as existing, as having been displaced by, and having suffered due to the war the Arabs started in the Land of Israel against its Jewish communities. "Palestinian" refers to non-Jews only from the second The British Mandate in Palestine's Jews became Israeli Jews, but that doesn't stop the anti-Israel crowd from falsely claiming there are Palestinian Jews today... even though since May of 1948, there aren't, and before that, those Palestinian Jews were British subjects, not the citizens of an Arab independent state called Palestine (something that has never historically existed). Thanks to the exclusion in practice of Jews from the definition of Palestinian refugee, the UN agency for taking care of Palestinian refugees, UNRWA became a tool of spreading anti-Jewish hate.

Hamas Guidlines to Social Media
Here are excerpts from the guidlines Hamas has given as to how to post on social media:
"Anyone killed or martyred is to be called a civilian from Gaza or Palestine, before we talk about his status in jihad or his military rank. Don't forget to always add 'innocent civilian' or 'innocent citizen' in your description of those killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
"Begin [your reports of] news of resistance actions with the phrase 'In response to the cruel Israeli attack,' and conclude with the phrase 'This many people have been martyred since Israel launched its aggression against Gaza.' Be sure to always perpetuate the principle of 'the role of the occupation is attack, and we in Palestine are fulfilling [the role of] the reaction.'
"Beware of spreading rumors from Israeli spokesmen, particularly those that harm the home front. Be wary regarding accepting the occupation's version [of events]. You must always cast doubts on this [version], disprove it, and treat it as false.
"Avoid publishing pictures of rockets fired into Israel from [Gaza] city centers. This [would] provide a pretext for attacking residential areas in the Gaza Strip. Do not publish or share photos or video clips showing rocket launching sites or the movement of resistance [forces] in Gaza.
"To the administrators of news pages on Facebook: Do not publish close-ups of masked men with heavy weapons, so that your page will not be shut down [by Facebook] on the claim that you are inciting violence. In your coverage, be sure that you say: 'The locally manufactured shells fired by the resistance are a natural response to the Israeli occupation that deliberately fires rockets against civilians in the West Bank and Gaza'..."
Additionally, the interior ministry prepared a series of suggestions specifically for Palestinian activists who speak to Westerners via social media. The ministry emphasizes that conversations with them should be conducted differently from conversations with other Arabs. It stated:
"When speaking to the West, you must use political, rational, and persuasive discourse, and avoid emotional discourse aimed at begging for sympathy. There are elements with a conscience in the world; you must maintain contact with them and activate them for the benefit of Palestine. Their role is to shame the occupation and expose its violations.
"Avoid entering into a political argument with a Westerner aimed at convincing him that the Holocaust is a lie and deceit; instead, equate it with Israel's crimes against Palestinian civilians.
"The narrative of life vs. the narrative of blood: [When speaking] to an Arab friend, start with the number of martyrs. [But when speaking] to a Western friend, start with the number of wounded and dead. Be sure to humanize the Palestinian suffering. Try to paint a picture of the suffering of the civilians in Gaza and the West Bank during the occupation's operations and its bombings of cities and villages.
"Do not publish photos of military commanders. Do not mention their names in public, and do not praise their achievements in conversations with foreign friends!"

This is literally from their own website! They instruct people to lie and and the useful idiots just share the lies as if they are fact.
Anyone who supports Hamas is an idiot at best and a terrorist at worst....

Hey, just letting you know Jack Black isn't a Zionist, Zionism is the belief of Jewish self determination in a Jewish state. Unless he's said anything specifically about that, saying no civilians should be hurt and that Jewish people are afraid right now (true, antisemitic hate crimes have sharply risen) isn't Zionism, and equating that too Zionism is antisemitic and part of the justification for the harassment Jewish people are facing right now even if they aren't talking about what's going on.
It's good to talk about what's going on, but a lot of stuff is drifting hard into antisemitic dogwhistles and conspiracies and Jack Black should definitely be called out for his support of Autism Speaks, but not for saying Jewish people don't deserve hate and expressing concerns about all the civilians and the hostages. It might be helpful to talk to some Jewish folks about it too, even if you don't agree with them.
Jack Black is using the language of Zionists and that is worth criticizing.
1. Calls a literal GENOCIDE “nuanced and hard to understand” which is used by Zionists across the world (including my own country, which supplies Israel with tank ammunition) as an excuse to not call for a ceasefire.
2. Only talks about the images of kidnapped Israelis and attacks by Hamas, not a peep about the *well documented genocide* (doesn’t even use the word).
3. Calls Hamas terrorists - completely ignoring the 75 year long occupation, displacement, imprisonment and murder of the Palestinian people. (It’s ok when white people fight back against oppressors, but not when it’s Arabs)
4. Talks about the rise in antisemitism, but not the continued unaddressed and actively deadly Islamophobia.
These type of posts never focus on the deaths of the Palestinians and heavily criticize Hamas instead of Israel, despite Israel being the aggressor for decades. Yes, rising antisemitism is absolutely a problem and yes it’s the Israeli government that is to blame, not Jewish people. We know that. However that’s no excuse to be this incredibly one-sided and tone-deaf. Not when the Palestinians have been facing ethnical cleansing by an apartheid regime and are now on the brink of obliteration by both starvation and unimaginable amounts of violence, all while the world watches and supports it. Jewish people and Israelis aren’t the only victims here. Ignoring that is simply unacceptable. Jack Black is downplaying Palestinian suffering.
And I know what Jewish people think about this "war". I know Jewish people see this and call it an inexcusable genocide - that Israel started this long before October 7. You know how I know? Because they come to protests and make their stances clear. They aren’t afraid to speak up. This isn’t a Jew vs Muslim war, it never was.

I try not to think about how everyone hates us but sometimes it becomes all I think about.
Like right now. There are a few Tumblr blogs I follow for history and culture. I've been following them for a long time.
How they treat Israel makes me sick to my stomach. They refuse to do Israeli history to try to ignore the fact that Israel exists and will continue to exist. It's stupid. Israel isn't going anywhere plus you do Muslim history when Islam spread through brutal colonization fucking hypocrite. But whatever I guess. They do Palestinian history and call out Israel's wrongdoings. Well that's fine. No problem there. Even though it's clearly biased I don't mind it.
However the way they treat Israel vs Muslim countries makes me so upset. With Israel it's "WOW WHAT AN EVIL COUNTRY I HATE ISRAEL" and then with Muslim countries no mention of how they're oppressors or evil hmm. Even with Mizrahi Jewish history some of these blogs won't be as passionately upset with how Jews in Muslim countries have been oppressed but will be clearly be upset about Palestine and scream and vent.
"Yeah Arab Jews suffered....." vs "PALESTINE HAS BEEN BRUTALLY OPPRESSED BY THE ALL POWERFUL EVIL ISRAEL" words matter. There is a clear difference in tone language and even care. A small mention of yeah being Jewish in Muslim countries sucked versus a long detailed rant about how Palestinians were oppressed in evil Israel means something btw. It means that you see us as inherently evil while also being like well of course youre oppressed youre jewish! As in our oppressions dont matter or seem important because well you are oppressed everywhere. It feels a bit like the 109/110 nazi dogwhistle that says we were kicked out of 109 countries soon to be 110. It feels like it means we're inherently inferior and will be treated as such. A complete dismissal of our pain while saying well of course you suffer thats your natural state as a Jew.

Why is pro-watermelon 🍉 gang keep saying this is the first time they are seeing a live genocide and still nobody cares?? No this isn’t your first time!
Women around the world have been slaughtered, murdered, raped, and facing all other kinds of oppression since the dawn of time. There is already a world’s oldest and biggest genocide that is still happening today. And that is femicide.
But nobody seems to care about that because according to them there’s a "gender war" going on. I wonder if these watermelon people would be protesting and boycotting the same way if it was only the Palestinian women suffering in this genocide.
None of these people ever fought with this much vehemence for women in iran, for afghan women, for sudanese women, women in Congo, and all other women who are suffering around the world.
In fact, they’re busy glamorising terrorists like Hezbollah and Khamenieh (however the fuck you spell it) and mourning the deaths of the likes of iran’s terrorist leader who died in helicopter crash just because these bearded devils chanted "free-palestine" two, three times.
More than seventy per cent of the people who have been killed in this genocide are women and children. But the only time i see the pro-Palestine m@les talking about it is when they wanna blame it all on feminists. "WhErE aRe tHe fEmInIsTs?" "WhErE aRe tHe liBerAlS?"
Just shut the fuck up and tell me where are all the anti-feminist men and women who love to say m@n should be the leaders?? Where are all the muslim and christian conservative bigots who keep saying shit like women should obey men and men should lead?? These are your leaders now!
Muslim women commenting "BoYcOTT" under every female influencer’s post promoting an israeli brand while at the same time cooking and cleaning like slaves for their husbands so these men could become the next big leaders oppressing women using their power.
If you wanna boycott anything, then boycott these men. Stop coddling them and stop doing anything for them. Instead, use all that energy in making yourself a powerful leader.
But no, FemInIsts aRe sO eVil aNd wRonG fOr tElliNg wOmEn tO sToP coNfOrMinG tO gEndEr rOLes. FeMinIsTs hAve rUiNed EvEryThInG fOr wOmEn. ThEy aRe sOciEty bReAkeRs!
It’s not the feminists fault that there’s a genocide going on, it’s the men’s. Men are the ones who vote for these male politicians. Men are the ones who worship these male leaders. Men are the ones who ruin everything for women. The enemy is exposed yet your rage is directed in the wrong direction.
There’s not one male world leader who is not destroying the planet with his evilness. But all i see is comparisons being made about which one of them is more evil; the islamic ones or the zionist ones or the white ones??
Listen! Idgaf about your free palestine land or the entire boycott list of brands. I don’t even care about your brave palestinian m@les dying either. Y’all cry about pregnant palestinian women having a hard time and feminists doing nothing for them, but who the fuck is impregnating them????
Women of Palestine should be freed from both israel and Palestinian men. That’s just what i care about. And women of Israel should be freed from these men too. No, they don’t deserve to be raped or killed just because they support Israel. It’s not even palestine vs Israel, it’s men vs women; where men are the oppressors on both sides and women are the victims on both sides. Every war has always been a genocide against women.

I think I’m gonna take a long break on here, it’s been real but I’m absolutely just totally done with the antisemitism…
I’m throughly disappointed with humanity…
I don’t not want Palestinians dead…I don’t want anyone dead to be quite honest!
And I also do not want fellow Jews to die as well !
MOST OF YOU You pro Palestinians are NOT FOR PEACE…( keyword most)
You want Jews dead… and THATS NOT OKAY!!!
Zionist or not!
And when you literally start telling them to kill themselves “kys” end your life and all that, you are just as equal to a murderer… by condoning this behavior!
Or talking about destruction of Israel as if the lives there that live deserve to die … WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!
You realize Israel is a whole fucking country, a region full of individuals, human beings that live there! Different hearts and minds, different thoughts, feelings, etc!
So when you say they need to destroyed, bombed, eradicated, deconstructed, or anything like that you are talking about basically wanting to kill all who live there!
When you tell ANY JEWISH PERSON TO DIE, you are not FOR PEACE! No, You are a piece of shit!
You are a Nazi, point blank if you want the country of Israel to be destroyed… end of discussion!
And honestly do not call yourself a person for peace if you talk like that… it’s absolutely antisemitic and garbage!
Both sides suffer from this war! Both Palestinian civilians and Israeli and everyone else who lives there And ALWAYS HAVE!!!
Stop using fucking lizard brain logic and realize both sides are SUFFERING!
This isn’t fucking red vs. blue team games!
It’s not a fucking soccer game and we’re keeping score, all of the people matter in this!! Every single life!!!

I have seen many lies doing around concerning 50 decapitated Israeli children, or claims of palestinians burning Israeli children. All of these claims are false claims and directly reflect actions the Israeli government has done against palestinian children.
This video depicts an eye-witness story of Israeli soldiers burning a palestinian child alive while they force the child's father to watch, before throwing the father into the same oven.
You can feel the pure suffering just from seeing the man retell the story, don't let them erase this genocide. Don't let them gaslight us about it, don't let them shift blame onto Palestine. Don't let them make this about Jews vs Arabs. This is simply settler colony vs. occupied natives and their land. Israel does not speak for Jews or Israeli citizens, Canada does not speak for Canadians, America does not speak for americans, Nor any other colonial power.
Western colonial powers endorse this genocide because they directly benefit and profit off of it, against the will of their own people, against the will of indigenous populations everywhere occupied by these hateful bloodthirsty regimes. Against the pure human will to live and be free. Against nature itself.

I've just found out about Rick Riordan's statement on Israel vs Palestine...
Welp, another childhood author that I completely lost all respect for.
Tumblr media
"So yes, I am appalled by the Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians" active/direct language (i forgot the actual english term) = the Israeli civilians WERE ATTACKED vs "I am appalled by the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza" passive language. The Palestinian civilians suffered - but because of what? Because of *whom*?
Tumblr media
"the Israeli government's brutal retaliation against the entire population of Gaza has reached genocidal proportions" you acknowledge the genocidal nature, but by choosing the word RETALIATION you imply that Palestine started this conflict.
Tumblr media
"This means security and support for Israel, yes." Fuck off. Just go fuck yourself.
Israel, as a GOVERNMENT system and a country, is completely unsustainable. Their foundations are on hate and violence, INCLUDING AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE if said people criticize their actions - see the violence with which the people protesting for the end of the ocupation faced in Israel (jewish protestors were beaten up by the police).
Seriously. Fuck you,""""Uncle""" Rick. You are a writer, and know the weight of words. Your choices reveal your belief very clearly, and no amount of lamenting for their pain erases the fact that you won't do anything to actually help.

with regards to the iran/israel situation and literally any other humanitarian situation that's going on right now, I just want to re-iterate some of my stances on current events:
I do not believe in wishing death on anyone. no matter anyone's identity or beliefs, I think that everyone should be entitled to basic human rights. I will NEVER advocate for statements calling for the mass death of civilians of any country, and detest seeing such statements made as jokes. I don't want to see "death to (country)," "burn (country) to the ground," "(country) needs to be nuked," etc. if you make those statements, think about what you're saying. we should not believe ourselves to be entitled to who gets to live or die. that is genocidal rhetoric.
WAR IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT. by that I mean I'm tired of people who have never experienced war treating it like fictional media. it's not strictly good vs. evil, it's not a sports game where you pick your favorite team. people die in war. and of course that seems obvious, but ever since the russian invasion of ukraine, I've seen people online, usually westerners with no connection to either country, treating a global conflict with devastating civilian consequences like fandom. express your support for ukraine by raising awareness for humanitarian causes, supporting ukrainian businesses, or learning about ukrainian culture and history, not making volodymyr zelensky thirst traps, goddammit. (and yes, I remember the volodymyr zelensky thirst traps. those were indeed a thing.) war is not meme fodder and entertainment, especially for those who are fortunate enough to be removed from it.
I do not believe in generalizing entire populations based on the actions of their governments. yes, of course there are civilians that support a government's actions, and there are civilians who oppose them. there are israelis who oppose the actions of the israeli government, russians who oppose the actions of the russian government, americans who oppose the actions of the us government, etc. the minute you generalize all civilians under a certain government as holding the same beliefs, you risk promoting rhetoric that is also used to justify ignorance and bigotry in best-case scenarios, and genocide in worst-case scenarios. people are not monoliths, and treating them as such can lead down a dangerous pipeline of attempting to justify the extermination of entire populations.
just because a government is committing atrocities doesn't mean the governments opposed to it are absolved of atrocities. powerful governments are not generally interested in human rights; they're interested in gaining as much influence and power as possible. ukrainians and palestinians are both suffering, but the international governments that claim to support either group of people are only doing so to support their own self-interests, such as global prominence or economic gain. we should not be cheering for the iranian government just because they oppose the israeli government; the mahsa/jina amini protests happened for a reason.
whenever there's a war, civilians always suffer the most. for those of us removed from war, we're removed from the full extent of this suffering. nowadays, with the rise of social media, we are able to witness atrocities in real time, but seeing videos of mutilated bodies and hearing the testimonies of survivors still doesn't equate to witnessing such atrocities firsthand. I don't believe that we should actively seek out graphic or distressing footage in order to alleviate any feelings of guilt, but we should treat these situations with extreme sensitivity, because we're not the ones experiencing them.
this goes with point #1, which is sort of where all of these points ultimately stem from, but I don't believe the killing of civilians is ever justified. even if one believes the ends justify the means, the lives of those people don't stop mattering.
please, going forward, let's be sensitive, compassionate, and kind. we need to be open to learning about different perspectives, as well as history, culture, and current events. there's already been so much suffering in the world in these last few years alone, and for those of us who are privileged enough to be removed from this sort of suffering, it's our responsibility to do our best not to make it worse than it already is.

https://www.adl.org/resources/report/antisemitic-attitudes-america-2024
By: Center for Antisemitism Research
Published: Feb 29, 2024
Executive Summary
In the months since the October 7th, 2023, terrorist attack in Israel, the global Jewish community has witnessed an increase in antisemitic activity, unprecedented in recent years. For many in and around Jewish communities, this period has felt inherently different, a sentiment that has raised several critical questions about the current scope, nature, and implications of antisemitism.
To explore this, the ADL Center for Antisemitism Research has collected data since October 7th related to the scale and structure of the phenomenon of antisemitism in the United States and compared results to past findings.
This study of 4,143 Americans, fielded between January 5th and January 18th, 2024, (with a margin of error of approximately 1.5%) found the following trends:
Anti-Jewish trope beliefs continue to increase, and younger Americans are showing higher rates.
From 2022 to 2024, the average number of anti-Jewish tropes endorsed by Americans increased from 4.18 to 4.31 out of 14. Using the original 11 statements comprising the ADL Index, agreement with 6 or more anti-Jewish tropes increased from 20% of the U.S. population in 2022 to just under 24% in 2024.
In a reversal of past trends, younger Americans are more likely to endorse anti-Jewish tropes, with millennials agreeing with the greatest number of anti-Jewish tropes on average, at 5.4. They’re followed by Gen Z at 5, Gen X at 4.2, and Baby Boomers at 3.1.
In addition to individual attitudes, more than 42% of Americans either have friends/family who dislike Jews (23.2%) or find it socially acceptable for a close family member to support Hamas (27.2%).
Conspiratorial thinking and social dominance orientation are key predictors of anti-Jewish belief.
Belief in conspiracy theories continues to be one of the main correlates of antisemitic attitudes, with an overall average correlation of .378 with anti-Jewish trope belief. Respondents who fall in the upper quartile of conspiracy theory belief endorsed over twice as many anti-Jewish tropes, on average, as those with the least conspiracy theory belief.
Anti-Jewish belief also correlates heavily with social dominance orientation – the belief that there should be higher status groups and that they should suppress lower status groups. For example, respondents who at least somewhat agreed with the statement that some groups of people are inferior to other groups were 3.6 times more likely to fall in the top quartile of anti-Jewish trope belief compared to those who did not.
There was also a strong relationship with the belief that the problems in the world “come down to the oppressor vs the oppressed.” Those who at least somewhat agreed with this belief were 2.6 times more likely to fall in the top quartile of anti-Jewish trope belief compared to those who disagreed with the statement.
A significant percentage of Americans hold anti-Israel positions, but also support a Jewish state’s right to exist.
Significant percentages of Americans hold certain anti-Israel positions, such as 20.1% who expressed support for removing Israeli products from a local grocery store and 30.4% who said supporters of Israel control the media. Younger Americans take these positions at significantly higher rates.
However, support for an independent Jewish state remains high, with 88.8% saying Jews have the right to an independent country. This is true even among those who take other anti-Israel positions. For example, 83.8% of people who believe that Israelis intend to cause as much suffering to Palestinians as possible believe that there should be a Jewish state.
October 7th and the ensuing Israel-Hamas war has not resulted in major changes in the percentage of Americans who hold anti-Israel positions.
However, in just about every anti-Israel position assessed, increased polarization appears evident. The proportion of respondents strongly agreeing or strongly disagreeing with Israel-related policies grew from the summer of 2023 to the present, whereas the proportion of those who somewhat agreed or somewhat disagreed shrank.
Individuals who held negative attitudes toward Israel-related policies, Israeli people, and Israel-oriented conspiracy theories were significantly more likely to believe anti-Jewish tropes.
Respondents not comfortable buying products from Israel were 3.4 times more likely to be among the top quartile of believers in anti-Jewish tropes.
Respondents who do not think Jews have the right to an independent country were 3.7 times more likely to be among the top quartile of believers in anti-Jewish tropes.
Respondents who believe Israelis intend to cause as much suffering to Palestinians as possible were 4.6 times more likely to be among the most antisemitic Americans.
Respondents who believe Israeli operatives are secretly manipulating US national policy through AIPAC or other influence tools were 7.5 times more likely to be among the top quartile of believers in anti-Jewish tropes.
Views of Hamas are also deeply concerning, with more than half of Gen Z expressing some degree of comfort being friends with a Hamas supporter.

As days pass and the violence continues to mount, I see more and more pro-Palestine people trip willfully or accidentally into actual anti-Semitism. I’ve seen people say that Jews are tools or agents of Satan, or that they are, ‘by their nature, ‘evil’.
Let’s calm down for a sec. The Israeli people have been raised since birth to view themselves as exceptional, unique, and hated ‘for no reason’ by Palestine and surrounding Arab countries, just as America has indoctrinated us to believe we are exceptional and unique and hated for how cool we are, and that’s why 9/11 happened and the Iraq War happened — ‘they hate us for our freedom’. It’s the exact same deal, except Israel has the emotional leverage of a historical genocide to fall upon as primary justification for their continued belligerence disguised as self-defense. Israelis are purposefully kept separate from Palestinians so as to maximize the Othering of the latter. You can’t empathize with who you can’t see suffering. You can’t develop compassion for people you are told will kill or hurt you as soon as they see you.
Israelis that have swallowed Israeli propaganda, and Zionists (non-Israeli Jews and non-Jews the world over) that have done the same have been brainwashed into believing the same old Us vs Them dichotomy that has divided so many groups since time immemorial. It is just as much human nature to be violently intolerant of the Other as it is to be cooperative, social, and empathetic with fellow human beings. It is so very easy to absorb and accept that some people simply want to hurt you, because there ARE people in this world that simply want to hurt you for no other reason than your existence. But Palestinians do not wish for the eradication of Jewish people. If they did then there would be no Palestinian Jews, right? But there are.
Zionists, especially Jewish Zionists, are not some uniquely heartless or depraved people. What they are allowing to happen in the name of Zionism is evil. They are not blindly applauding the deaths of Palestinians because they are Jews. You see non-Jewish Zionists doing the exact same thing, but apparently only Jews are ‘tools of Satan’ for this. Again, it’s falling back on old anti-semitic rhetoric. It’s lazy and dangerous and undermines the cause. No matter how frustrating it is to talk to a Zionist, don’t give up and fall back on anti-semitic ideas because it’s simply easier and less stressful for you to perceive a person as somehow a boogeyman rather than a complex individual with a set of experiences, ideas, history, memories, and indoctrination that has culminated into a frustrating and obtuse individual.

this is not fiction related. I have been seeing news about the ongoing israel-palestine war. I know its been a while since it blew out on news outlets. I'm surely not a very political person and honestly from a country with so much issues too. But the news is devastating and inhumane. The civilians from both countries are suffering the consequences. Greed of people with power. Its not countries that are at war, its greedy people with power vs those who are in the way of that gain. Its always the civilians and innocent people who doesn't even get to give their cents on the matter who suffer when things dont work out. Im no expert neither have research enough to point fingers.  Regardless, no one should die or get hurt for whatever dispute or gains people are fighting for. I have no where else to put this. I'm sorry if im dropping it here, to you. Its frustrating not being able to do anything for those victims. Except pray this war end soon. For whatever religion, race and differences people has is not an excuse to be choosing sides now. 💔💔
you sound very uneducated on the topic so imma try to say this as nice as possible, there are two sides.
you have the oppressed and the oppressor, and if you don’t choose a side after seeing how israel has completely terrorised palestine then i think you should take a look into your own morals. palestinians don’t get to ‘choose a side’ that is a privilege to YOU which is so pathetic honestly i’m sick of people coming into my inbox thinking it’s a safe place to be ‘not involved’ or ‘not choosing any sides’ when i’ve stated so many times that i hate and will forever hate israel’s and zionist alike. if you’re not educated enough to ‘pick a side’ on a topic where there is clearly a victim and an aggressor idk what to tell you except shut up and keep ur opinion to urself cause it’s so lacking empathy and js sounds like a first world problem that i don’t really give a fuck about😁
this isn’t a governmental issue on both sides, it’s the israeli and us and all the other fuck off govs bombing and murdering innocent civilians of PALESTINE with no place to go. israelis are fucking comfortable on their ass and can easily go ‘im scared lemme move to the us for good🤓’ like genuinely kys.

Antisemitism is evil
Genocide against the Palestinians is evil
If you disagree with either of these, please leave my page
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Further Reading:
Yes it’s a Genocide
TL;DR: there are many classifications of genocide, and one of such classifications is ethnic cleansing. Israeli military and government forces claim they are doing a Nakba 2. The first Nakba is the definition of ethnic cleansing, by UN definitions, which is a form of genocide. Israel has admitted that they are committing genocide.
No criticizing Israel is not antisemitic
TL;DR: if criticism of Israel or being pro Palestinian equates being antisemitic, then here is a list of raging antisemites (direct quotes included): Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, Nelson Mandela, Albert Einstein (is Jewish), Stephen Hawking, Frida Kahlo (is Jewish), Noam Chomsky (is Jewish), DJ KHALED, Muhammad Ali, Jimmy Carter, Ben and Jerry (the ice cream people), Bernie Sanders (is Jewish), and Susan Sarandon.
Why Israel hates Palestinians (and why it’s unjustified)
TL;DR: Early post Zionist radical philosophy was to get back at the Germans and kill 6 million Germans senselessly for their systemic murder of Jews. This was rejected by Israel, but this thought process and reaction to historic European antisemitism was channelled into mistreatment of Palestinians. Europe is to blame yet Palestinians are the ones suffering,
I am very well read
TL;DR: Someone called be a slur and told me to pick up a book, I responded with a list of books which I read, a good chunk of which are from pro Israel Zionists and anti Israel Jewish and Palestinian academics
Antisemitism Post #1
TL;DR: a critique of white leftists who thing all Jewish people must categorize themselves as “good Jew” or “bad Jew”. Ethnonationalism like Zionism is dangerous but so is bigotry such as antisemitism. I also use my personal story of hating Belgians.
Antisemitism Post #2
TL;DR: if you replace “Israeli” with any other ethnicity or nationality and it’s bigoted, then your statement is antisemitic. If your statement isn’t bigoted and a rightful criticism of government or military positions and actions, it’s not antisemitic. It’s not antisemitic to criticize a genocide.
Patriotism vs Nationalism vs Jingoism
TL;DR: A Patriot loves their country, she celebrates when it does right and criticizes it when it does wrong. A Nationalist loves their country, she celebrates it when it does right and ignores when it does wrong. A Jingoist loves their country (or at least a specific version of it), celebrates when it is right and when it is wrong, because their country is unable to do wrong in their eyes. Everything can be justified.
Antisemitism Post #3
TL;DR: the Jews don’t control Hollywood.
Rebutting the “It’s Complicated” Claim
TL;DR: it’s not complicated, it’s apartheid
Antisemitism Post #4
TL;DR: Israel is Antisemitic, non Ashkenazi Jews frequently face discrimination, especially in Netanyahu’s Israel, but it’s always been this way with Yiddish language bans, forced sterilization of Ethiopian Jews, and European supremacy in all corners of government
Extremism is Sometimes Justified
TL;DR: one person’s terrorist is another person’s freedom fighter, and if you claim all extremism is bad, you support European colonial control of Africa, Haiti, the USA, and so many other evil regimes.
Yes Israel is a Colonial Project
TL;DR: Direct sources from the founders of Zionism calling the creation of Israel a colonial project and referring to Palestinians as the indigenous peoples who are in the way
People who are not Israeli or Palestinian are allowed to engage in discourse on this issue, especially Americans
Goat Jewish Boi Slays
The Post that Blew Up
Debunking idiotic Israeli arguments
Where’d you Come From, Where’d you Go
USA is the most diverse country on earth
Direct quote from an Israeli cabinet minister calling this conflict a war on Gaza not a war on Hamas (what happened to the plot??)
I love Jewish men who love humanity
Israel doesn’t care about peace
i'm just so exhausted. is it really so hard for people to care even a little tiny bit about israelis? i don't understand it. and when you ask them to please just have a little bit, tiny bit of sympathy, they either ignore you completely or resort to literal DARVO. are they doing it on purpose? are they just blind or something? and it feels like it's everyone. not just a couple hundred people who lack even a drop of compassion for us, it feels like everyone in the world wants us dead. these people will tell you that caring even just a little bit about israelis makes you a genocide supporter, and than turn around and celebrate the murder and kidnapping of israelis. do they not hear themselves? do they not hear what they're saying? i just can't bring myself to understand them at all
and i'm a little angry at us too. i understand the urge to be just as apathetic, and i understand why palestinians are suffering, but it's still horrible. even worse, there's no way to make it stop.
it's so disgusting that people have turned this into a fucking x vs y conflict. people have been raped, mutilated, murdered, starved, and the world is busy going back and forth on which people deserve it. it's just so sick. how difficult is it to care about the well-being of everyone? and it's not like i'm perfect, i'll think something terrible and get so upset with myself that i don't know how to move on.
more than anything i want the hostages home, i want palestinians to be safe, i want hamas destroyed and bibi ousted forever. and it feels like it'll never happen. i'm so tired, i wish i could just stop caring. i wish i could close my eyes and pretend it never happened. i wish i could help in a substantial way. it just feels so hopeless.
