💗Robotic affirming is repeating your affirmations until you get your desire. It works instantly , it is totally worth it. You don't have to believe your affirmations. You can repeat them mindlessly.

🤖It doesn't matter how long you do it . There are no rules. You can use as many affirmations you want to. Robotic affirming helps to pass your limits and doubts. Let's say you affirm for 1- 2 hours for your desire but then start wavering ( complaining , worrying , entertaining opposing thoughts etc ) . It is okay if you waver but don't dwell on those thoughts. Deny them. Don't let them get to you. Ignore those thoughts and start repeating your affirmations . Sammy ingram said that you can say your affirmations out aloud to get rid of negative thoughts because you can't speak one thing and think another thing at the same time.

💗Basically, you are saturating your mind with what you want. Once those affirmations become dominant , they will manifest since dominant thoughts manifest. The more you familiarize your mind with your desire, the more fast you will manifest it.

🤖Affirm. Affirm and Affirm. Don't leave your important tasks, in other words, don't neglect your life to affirm but affirm when you are scrolling through your phone , showering , doing skincare , cooking, eating etc .

💗You are affirm until your desires materialize into the 3D . You need to be RELENTLESS. You need to be CONSISTENT. Don't think about how or when your desires will manifest. Don't put your desires on a pedestal. I mentioned it my paradigm and mental diet post too and I will mention it again , REPETITION IS THE KEY.

Autism as a concept has lived in the pathology paradigm from the very beginning. That’s about a hundred years of seeing Autistic people as “broken” and in need of fixing. It is officially diagnosed as a “disorder,” and the diagnostic criteria are full of pathologizing language. So for most of society, negative language and attitudes around autism are “normal.”

To someone in the medical or mental health field, pathologizing language is also “normal.” Same goes for people in education, particularly special education. It’s just how they talk about patients and students, they don’t mean anything by it, you HAVE to talk about a person’s deficits/symptoms in order to get them help. It’s just…normal.

But sometimes, when something negative is normalized enough, people can mistake it for being “neutral.” Which leads to people arguing that the word “disorder” is neutral, and that the actually neutral language of neurodiversity is “overly positive.”

That’s all incorrect, though. The word “disorder” is not and was never intended to be neutral. The language used to diagnose autism as a medical/mental health condition is not and never has been neutral. And “normalized” is not the same as “neutral.”

And so, here’s a handy dandy (and slightly snarky) graphic for anyone out there whose frame of reference could use some re-centering.

NOTE: Genuine questions are fine. Attempts to argue that pathologizing medical language is neutral OR that autism is a disorder are not. If you are uncomfortable in the realization that the language you’ve been using contributes to negative attitudes towards Autistic people, that’s a sign that you have some stuff to learn, not an invitation to get defensive in my comments section.

ALSO NOTE: Nowhere have I told anyone how to refer to or think of *themselves,* so don’t come at me with that one either.

ALSO ALSO NOTE: I don’t actually endorse anything in the “positive” column either. It is strictly to demonstrate that there is a difference between neutral and positive language, and all of it is meant tongue-in-cheek. Toxic positivity and supremacy don’t help anyone.

Paradigm Shift for the 'Why I wrote it bingo'!

So a great deal of the fuel for this fic came from spite. Specifically spite over that WestAllen kiss in S1. We all know the one. The one where Iris cheats on Eddie in a timeline that is promptly erased. It's romanticized by canon and fanon alike and... I honestly find the whole thing kinda awful. Like, seriously, how does anyone even like that kiss? Why would anyone like Iris to cheat on Eddie with Barry? It's at least mildly out of character for Iris at that point in the show. (I say mildly but I mean wildly. It's just... she hasn't shown any actual romantic interest in Barry by that point; she's just had a lot of people telling her that she does in contradiction to everything she's said and done, which is... not cool.) And Eddie, who has been nothing but a good boyfriend, doesn't deserve that. And lets face it, Eddie's been treating Iris better than Barry at that point in the show. I mean, for one thing... he's not acting entitled towards her just because he likes her. Unlike Barry, who definitely has shades of being a 'nice' guy going on at times. (Admittedly changes in the series finale, but it wouldn't be The Flash if Iris weren't being treated as the prize to be won. Everyone must be entitled to Iris on this show, I swear.)

I admit, I'm pretty sure I find most cheating arcs nonsensical, off-putting, and offensive because I'm aro. It cannot possibly be that hard to just... not cheat.

But it was not this spitefulness alone that gave me the idea for this fic, it was just what fueled the fic (still leaving soooo much spite left over). No, what inspired the fic was, on rewatch, thinking about how close Barry came to knowing Cisco was dead. And how might that have changed things when Barry went back in time if he had known?

So it all started with that first scene where Barry in the fic - already freaking out over what's going on with the weird weather and the lake that's about to severely damage the city - and he learns Cisco's dead. Here it's a subtle change, but in canon its implied Barry time travels for fear of what might happen to Iris if he fails to save here. In the fic, he time travels because he wants more time to save Cisco. And Barry gets that time.

Barry and Cisco are a pretty tight team at that point. They've been doing the Flash thing together since day 1 and, unlike Wells and Caitlin, Cisco never had to be brought around to the idea of Barry being a superhero. Sure, Cisco made a 'in case of emergency, break glass' plan with the Cold Gun, but Cisco was the first person who really, truly believed in Barry as a hero. With Cisco backing him up - Cisco, who is Barry's hero by the end of S1 - Barry probably really feels like he can take on anything. But now Cisco's dead and... Barry can't do this without him. So when suddenly Cisco's alive again thanks to time travel shenanigans, Barry has to think about what his feelings for Cisco really mean and what he'd give up in order to keep Cisco alive and well.

It was one of those fics that, once I had the idea, it wouldn't shut up in my head.
