Dick got his soulmark late. It only appeared when he was a teen. He wasn't sure how to feel about it. On the one hand, it was comforting to know that he did have a soulmate (proven by the fact there was now a color stripe on his wrist to match his soulmate's hair color); but on the other hand, they were so young. Their hair color kept changing from black to white, which was probably damaging their hair, but would probably make it easier to find them. That is, if he ever decided to look.

Dani always had a stripe of black on her wrist. It never changed color like other people's sometimes did. Like Danny's did when it went from it's orange to yellow gradient to a red to orange gradient. Of course it wasn't unusual for people's stripes to not change color. It wasn't unusual for people's stripes to change almost daily. Maybe it would have been less unusual to her if she'd had more of an explanation of what it was.

Where the Justice League (mostly focusing on the Superfam or Batfam or Flashfam) are large leviathan-esque creatures living on Planet 4546B. Maybe they can change forms due to Precursor experimentation, maybe not. Those with young hang out around the shallows more than the others, what with most of them being large super or specialized predators.

Enter Danny Fenton, interning on the Aurora when the ship is shot down by the Quarantine Enforcement Platform. Oh sure he probably would have tried to stop the destruction and help, but his ghost powers are a bit on the fritz and a well-meaning worker pushes him into one of the last life pods seeing as he's a child.

Now the leviathans may not know what a ship is exactly, but they can definitely understand that in most cases things technology = precursors. As far as they understand, a metal deathtrap not unlike the old labs or caches fell alongside several metallic eggs, with the emerging hatchlings misshapen and not living long.

But then there's the egg that landed in the shallows, which at first they thought was empty. But a hatchling- much smaller than the previous ones- emerges, a day later than the rest, but they're alive even if their swimming is all wobbly! It's so tiny, and obviously hatched too early with the strange split tail and how it keeps swimming to the surface for air, and they have to protect it! Now if only the little hatchling would answer their calls and not dart into hiding spots whenever they approach...

Honestly this is up to the writer lol, but I like to think that Danny's ghost form, when he finally manages to achieve it again, goes a little naga-esque. Almost like a sea snake instead of just a whispy ghost tail, which while better for swimming doesn't help his freak out over most ghost powers still not working.

Danny is just trying to survive man, maybe find other survivors, turn off this big alien gun, stop creating frost crystals when he sneezes, the usual. He doesn't need giant humanoid-esque leviathan-sized sea creatures poking around!

While I was rewatching The Phantom Menace yesterday, I was thinking during the sequence at the end with the N-1 Starfighters that one of them could be Din's, and boom! A rather amusing new headcanon was born.

So, obviously we know that Peli Motto somehow came into possession of one of the ships and in approximately 9ABY on Tatooine, she restores it with Din on Tatooine.

But what if four decades previously, it was the same starship used by a certain Anakin Skywalker during the Battle of Naboo...

So, why would this be funny?

Well, because of what Anakin uses the ship for, and the fact its eventual owner has a well known disdain for droids...

After Anakin leaves the hangar on Naboo, he joins the dogfight up in space. Eventually, he finds himself on one of the Trade Federation's ships and after a bit of panicking, has a great time destroying a few droids...

As they fire at him, he launches a few shots which inadvertently causes the Droid Control Ship to blow up. Every single one of the thousands of droids on Naboo instantly powers down, ensuring that the planet is saved.

But this kid really used an N-1 starfighter to blow up an enormous ship of vital strategic importance. I mean, look at it go! Bye bye droids!

I have nothing to base this hc off other than Anakin used an N-1 to destroy droids and Din (who hates droids) eventually has the same kind of ship. But I'm running with it because I think it's hilarious and that Din would be pretty pleased to know that his N-1 has a history of destroying droids...

Y'know those Danny Fenton is a rock star AU's? I've seen a bit too little of them-- but that's not the point.

I HC that Ember and Danny dated for a while in like a Batman-Catwoman relationship and that Ember is a world known popstar (partially due to her hypnosis, but she's also REALLY good)

I wanna see a work where Danny and Ember are known to sing some songs together (Danny providing back-up vocals or playing an instrument of ur choosing and so on) and that the public knows they're exes.

But, being the little shits they are, they decided "wait. We can have fun with this and profit!"

They sing those "you broke my heart but I'm better off without you anyway!" songs. Like, imagine them in a sort of duet singing, for example, Exes and Ohs at each other. They're on good terms and all but they just have that lovers-to-rivals dynamic despite working together.

The public eats it up ofc.

So Danny's not exactly a rock star, but he is known for being Ember McLain's infamous ex that goes on stage with her on occasion.

Here’s a thought. So, it’s been talked to death about how the Anakin/Padme romance doesn’t really work in the movies due to how it was written. One of the main arguments is mainly that it doesn’t make sense that Padme would fall for Anakin due to his red flag tendencies, especially after he admitted to slaughtering a whole village. Usually, the rewrites I’ve seen focus on how Anakin needed to be more of a good person/less toxic/less flawed in order to win over Padme.

But how about this: What if Padme was more flawed and insecure than how she was in the Prequels? Basically, matching Anakin in terms of how messed up their characters are. The attraction then focuses on how they’re kindred spirits (similar to how Cal Kestis and Merrin were drawn to each other since they’re both survivors).

The more I think about it, the more I’m leaning towards Padme needing to be more flawed than Anakin losing some of his flaws. Because the Prequel Trilogy is a tragedy! You might as well lean into how tragic the pairing is and how doomed they are!

For example, you don’t have to remove the scene where Anakin confesses to slaughtering the Tusken raiders and Padme taking his side. Instead, justify why Padme takes Anakin’s side. Maybe she can truly relate to how Anakin is feeling at that moment. Maybe she says she would’ve done the exact thing if she was in his position. Maybe she says that no matter what Anakin does, he’ll have her support. Maybe they both feel the pull of the Dark Side and that if they’re both going down this questionable path, might as well go down it together.

I know I just wrote an argument that is basically saying “make it MORE toxic”, but it fits with the story that is being told.

(And of course, the tragedy of episode III would be that Anakin actually following through with becoming a Sith Lord and killing everyone was the one thing Padme couldn’t follow him down. Like, it was the ONE red line that she wouldn’t accept and Anakin crossed it)

Side note: Based on Natalie Portman’s career, you just know that she would’ve crushed the role of “insecure, extremely flawed woman who falls for someone who is a kindred spirit to her, despite how toxic they are together”. That’s some Black Swan vibes.

Am I just a delusional shipper or does this feel like it should have been a thing?

Spoilers for Gargoyles (1972) ahead.

Those are actual lines out of the movie. I didn't paraphrase. At all. I played the scene where she was reading out of the book, and typed every word she said. This is a movie about demons who "sometimes take human women" who are trying to conquer the world. Also, in this movie, the gargoyles with wings are the breeders. This one says as much. He was basically the leader. His reaction to being told that he's lost is literally, "Not as long as there are two winged breeders."

Also, the way the gargoyle acts when he first sees Diana just SCREAMS "shipping fuel". If this were written in the modern day, they would have done it. You can't convince me otherwise. You know why I say that?

BECAUSE THE 90s DID IT!!!

I don't care that these two stories have nothing to do with one another. This is a really good comparison. And, even if it wasn't, I have plenty of fuel for this fire. (I don't even need my usual go-to of vampire movies to prove this point.)

Diana and The Gargoyle fit into two categories that I love and frequently ship. Hero/Villain (though I guess this is more damsel/villain) and Human/Monster. I'm going to give examples from both categories that I will die shipping. (They overlap quite a bit, actually.)
