I Really Appreciate Luna Lovegood

There was something about Luna that i just loved. Not only was she a sweetheart, but she was also unapologetically her, weird, different. She didn't care about what others thought of her, nor did she care when people were mean to her. She always saw the Brightside of things, and she supportive to the people she cared about. Luna was a character that was perfect for Harry Potter, in a world filled with the mysterious, and the strange, and Luna was just someone who embraced it.

A Small Surprise

Author’s Note: I have recovered this fic and I struggled how to end it so, I said, "Fuck it."

Warning: Newt!mc is inspired by Newt Scamander & comment if there are more that i didn't notice.

Originally, Vil came to get you for something and didn’t see you around the main floor of the Ramshackle dorm before noticing that the basement door was open, knowing you were likely down there. He stepped down into the spacious basement and glanced at the various creatures as well as habitats, the magnificent mixture of colors and variations. It made him smile that you put such care towards your creatures until you released them back into the wild.

By the time he reaches the bottom of the stairs, he looks around your small open area that acts as the center point that connects to all the various habitats. He noticed your small workstation before noticing a disheveled and elderly red orange bird, which was surprising considering that you, the creature expert friend, takes excellent care of their creatures. The bird was perched on a bar that was above a giant bowl. 

The old bird turned its head and nodded, almost somewhat silently, greeting them silently like a kind old man. The creature then raised its wings before suddenly bursting into flames, which startled Vil and brought his forearms up in front of his face as he felt the faint wave of heat. He looks back to see small bits of flame and embers fell on top of the ash that had filled part of the bowl. Baffled and in awe, he was struggling to find the right words to speak, trying to process the things that happened in the last few seconds.

“Vil?” a familiar voice broke him out of his trance before he turned to see you coming out of your suitcase with a surprised look.

“Uh- I-that…the bird.” He finally got out as you got out and patted off any dust. “That bird just burst into flames. I couldn’t stop or do anything, and-”

"Oh, good. About time, they did,” You let out a sigh of relief, as you walked over to the bowl and perch. “I’ve been trying to coax them into burning for a few days now.”

“I’m sorry…burning?” He raised an eyebrow. “Yes, I’m sure you’ve heard about phoenix. They burst into flames when they’ve grown too old, then get reborn from the ashes.”

You gesture him closer as a small bird head with some tiny red feathers on its head emerges from the ashes. 

“Such fascinating creatures as phoenixes are.” You hummed as the bird purred a bit. 

“I never knew you took care of a phoenix.”

“It was given to me by a friend and to be completely honest, I usually let Markel just roam around.”

“Markel?”

“Yes, Markel. I found his name suitable because of his fiery self.” You said, cooing at the small bird. “Such magnificent creatures that are reborn from the ashes, reminds me of some people I know.”

“Such a sweetheart, potato.” Vil smiled. “Such a charmer with a way of word.”

“I don’t mean to.”

“You have a kind heart, potato. Don’t lose it.”

Newt thought they escaped. That the enemy wizard had gotten lost in the tunnels as he heard Y/N's steps right behind him. Newt came into a giant chasm as he turned to see Y/N running towards them as he was almost out of the tunnels, but before he could, a voice shouted out, “Protego Diabolica!” Newt watched as Y/N was consumed in a ring of blue fire as it drew closer and began to burn Y/N's skin off as Newt watched in tears as his boyfriend turned to him before he was consumed by the infernos. The enemy wizard looks as Newt fell to his knees in so much pain that he sneered and left him alone as Newt beat the ashes with his fists as he cried harder. He was so distraught that he didn't notice a fiery glow of energy as Y/N rose out of the charred remains of black ash and had beautifully colored Phoenix wings as Newt looked up and gasped.

“Y/N! He cried. You're okay!” Newt stood up and ran towards his boyfriend and hugged him.

I've been re-reading the Harry Potter Books and I got to Prisoner of Azkaban and, at Christmas there's only 12 people around the dinner table.

Trelawny comes along and Dumbledore stands up to draw her a chair.

She freaks out, I must not! When 13 people dine together, the first to rise is the first to die!!!!!

Except.

Ron had scabbers (Peter Pettigrew) in his pocket.

Which means that there weren't 12 people when Trelawny arrived. There was already 13.

And Dumbledore stood up.

Unpopular Opinions: Harry Potter Edition

Harry and Luna should've been together.

Movies Only.

Watching the HP films, their is no denying that Evanna and Dan had a lot of chemistry. And when I see their scenes together, you can see that Harry really does care for her, and they had many things in common, but also many differences, that could really keep the relationship exciting.

She comforted him when Dobby died, they both lost parents, and she help him a little with that trauma. She always made sure that he didn't feel bad, she made him feel better and validated, she supported him and vice versa. They listened to each other, they understand each other, and they genuinely enjoyed each others company. It was pretty clear that Harry didn't mind her weirdness, but what i felt would've been much better is if he actually enjoyed it, her extraordinary mind, when she would say funny things unintentionally, her creativity, interesting clothing, etc.

He liked that she was different, and even though she was all over the place, she was still very humble, (and since Harry has been living an outrageous life, he needs humble.) someone who saw their world differently, in a better light, than he did. Luna was always cheerful, never sad, respectful always seeing the Brightside of things, and Harry brooded a lot, so i feel like Luna would've been there to help him with that.

And re-watching the films, i have definitely noticed that, even though Harry was a good person, he wasn't always the nicest, and I feel being around someone like Luna, he would've wanted to be like someone like her. And she knew him so well, she could tell when he was going through something. And instead of scenes where Harry is jealous of Dean and Ginny, he is jealous of Neville flirting and crushing on Luna, and i would've loved a scene where Harry was defending her when she was getting picked on. She was inspiring him to be the person he wanted to be, since he was always afraid of being bad, and she could've inspired him. Luna and Harry should've been endgame.
