Math
Geologist: I do more math than you might think
Chemist: I mean, chemical equations are basically mathematical equations. If you think about it (I also do math math)
Physicist: Oh, yeah, it’s all math but we just handwave it
Mathematician: YOU DO WHAT!?
Quantum Physicist: *regularly does math that is literally beyond human comprehension* *now resides in a higher plane of existence*
Engineer: If I don’t do this math correctly PEOPLE WILL DIE
Military Scientist: If I don’t do this math correctly PEOPLE WILL SURVIVE
Topologist: If I don’t do this math correctly PEOPLE WILL BE MOSTLY UNAFFECTED
Philosopher: But what even IS math, really? No seriously, what is it?
Organic Chemist: I kinda forgot how to do math, to be honest
Biologist: I literally only chose this field so I wouldn’t have to do as much math. I love stamp collecting
Biostatistician: wtf

the glass twins <333 nothing bad has ever happened to them, trust
@afkphorabit i drew Jekyll in too!! Hyde looks so much scrawnier and smaller, if he fixed his posture at least half of those difference would disappear (Hyde has no meat on his bones i fear) (consequence of being more-or-less on the run for nearly a decade) (< yes i am working on that Hyde pov fic why do you ask)

nerd fight
my money's on geologist or engineer but I'm the one making the poll so I can't vote
feel free to reblog with reasons why you think your chosen STEM nerd would win in a fight against all the others
edit: for some reason I can vote

i know a lot of people tend to define dani/ellie's "obsession" as the ocean to go with danny's space obsession but tbh i feel like as dani gets older she's going to do a lot to separate herself from her identity as danny's "clone" and become her own person
like, that's why i love that the fandom has adopted the "ellie" nickname so much for her. i so wish the show went on for longer with more competent writers or the comic could expand on this maybe but i think finding her own identity and voice would be such a powerful narrative. you're made for one thing but you don't wanna do that, so now what do you do?
(tbh that kind of identity exploration is probably too anit-christian for b*tch h*rtman so i'm glad he didn't get to touch it)
it's canon that dani goes off and travels the world, so why not have her obsession be traveling? she's got a huge case of wanderlust. she likes the outdoors, she likes hiking and camping and is a huge granola girl. like, i think that kinda just fits her a bit more, in my opinion. traveling/exploration.

I ramble about the scientists and engineers on qsmp (mike, pac, tubbo, ramon and aypierre) and about what i think they specialize in:
Pac to me is a bio chemist/ pharmacist. He knows how to make antidotes as he did in the happy pills arc. He is the one in the tazercraft duo who learned medicine and chem. This man however does not know the meaning of "ethical practices". he picked up some physics and engineering knowledge from being with mike
Mike feels like a phycisist with some knowledge in other fields. It lfeels like he knows theory very well and has the problem solving skills for it. He knows some engineering stuff, some chem from pac and some computer science stuff. This is what helps him be a sort of jack of all trades and build things like the game arenas with pac.
Tubbo and ramon are very similar to me in that they are both just mechanical engineers who know some other stuff. They are create mod experts making them especially good at mechanical engineering but htey also know some electrical stuff and maybe some computer science. They are both well versed in physics though not professionals as they can do shit like time machines or build the radio reciever. Tubbo in particular is also a logistics nerd which is what pushes him to make large interconnected systems and factories.
Aypierre feels like a robotics and software expert. He might also be a create mod user but the way he does it and his factories give a much more modern fancy robot vibe. He certainly approaches the mod in a more 1 project at a time way which is closer to working on computer science. He also always makes displays that show what the factory is producing. Other evidence for this is the ayrobot shit.
Im convinved these 5 have had intense joke arguments over whihc science or field is the best. Theyve done it several times. By now pac has given up on fighting since hes the only biologist.
i need more scinecy art and shit frm them. Especially for pac. I need fitpac moments where pac is just rambling about some complicated chem stuff and fit is like :)

i just need somebody. someday to relate too about this science and writer/artist career decisions. i haven't met a person who lived these two lives and i feel so alone in my struggle. i want to get serious in both. i have dreams about a creative studios and science labs. the teamwork in the creative and science industries makes me so excited. yet i can't choose. i want to advance both skills. i dont want to put them to the sides. i want to create art and story something i can feel proud of while still wanting to learn about the beauties of the world and help others
i know im not alone. i just want to talk with someone living through this and not just someone who goes: "oh yeah do science for the money" when they havent described their expierences!
this anxiety has been ruining my social life! its ruining my brain! i just want help

The Unethics Committee update!!🧪🧫⚗️⚙️🥼🥽🩻🧬🔥💥🧬🧠🦴⚠️☢️☣️
I am hereby making The Unethics Committee (my mad science discord server) public since I am way too slow with keeping up inviting people via dm. We currently have around 50-60 members but it would also be nice to have it be accessible for more people to keep it being active. More information about the server in the pinned post on my blog!
Welcome to the madness!💚

STE(A)M Meeting
Engineer: What if we added Art to STEM, so it says STEAM? Like a STEAM ENGINE?
Biologist: but i like stems…
Physicist: Sorry, but STEAM’s got my vote. I approve of all 7(ish?) phases of water. I think.
Computer Scientist: I vote for STEAM too, #PC gaming master race
Set Theorist: I will also vote in favor of increasingly large collections of seemingly unrelated things.
Education Professor: That's all very... dumb. F-. But, I have a pretty good idea on how to use the A so I'll vote for it too!
Biologist: :(
Artist: wtf, why am I here? What kinda nerdy sausage party is this?
Education Professor: (on hands and knees) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE OUR CURRICULUMS LESS BORING I DON'T KNOW HOW TO STOP ALL MY STUDENTS FALLING ASLEEP IF THEY CAN'T BE CREATIVE PLEASE

Parallel Orbits: Exploring the Resemblance Between Atomic and Planetary Structures
The similarity between the structure of an atom and the structure of a planetary system is a fascinating topic that reveals the harmony and regularity present in both the microscopic and macroscopic realms of the universe. Although they are vastly different in scale, these two systems share some fundamental principles of organization and motion.
First, let's consider the structure of an atom. An atom consists of a central nucleus that houses protons and neutrons and a cloud of electrons orbiting around it. Electrons revolve around the nucleus in discrete orbits, referred to as energy levels or electron shells. This organization is akin to how planets orbit the Sun in a planetary system.
In a planetary system, the Sun represents the nucleus, while planets like Earth, Mars, and Jupiter, among others, orbit around it. Just like electrons in an atom, planets in our solar system follow specific and regular paths, maintaining a constant distance from their central stars. Moreover, gravitational force plays a fundamental role on both scales, keeping objects in orbit.
Another notable similarity is the concept of quantization. In atoms, electrons can only exist in specific orbits, meaning they have quantized energy levels. In the solar system, the energy of planets is also quantized, with each planet occupying a specific orbit. This quantized nature is one of the reasons why these systems are so stable and predictable.
Furthermore, the stability of these systems is maintained by a delicate balance of opposing forces. In atoms, the electrostatic attraction between protons and electrons is counteracted by the orbital motion of electrons. In the planetary system, the gravitational force pulling planets toward the Sun is balanced by the orbital motion of these celestial bodies.
Although the scales are vastly different, the similarity in organization and underlying principles between the structure of an atom and the structure of a planetary system is a remarkable demonstration of the universality of physical laws. These analogies also serve as captivating examples of the beauty of science and how the same natural laws apply in different contexts throughout the universe.
