And not to say Charles doesn't crush as hard on Max as Max does on him, Charles absolutely does. He just tries to be nonchalant about it. But his giggles fail him every time Max opens his mouth.

I think the joint Vegas interview is a good example of this. Charles tries to be serious with Max but Max is clearly doing his damnest to make Charles laugh, which obviously, Charles does. Once again, the way Charles looks at Max in this, he knows Max is trying to make him laugh too. (Max also literally quoted Charles' joke from an interview that he wasn't even in, meaning Max WATCHED it in his own time.)

ok here’s the breakdown: regulus is in love with james. lily is in love with james. they first bonded when they realized they were both in love with james & both knew that nothing would ever come of it & both agreed not 2 sleep w him bc they knew it would just break their hearts etc. james is not in love with either of them. he loves them very much, but it is not the romantic love either of them desire. however he doesn’t view sex as a big deal just a fun thing to do with people, including people you love.

so like. in ch 20 what happened is that james + lily went home together, both kinda drunk, and in a moment of poor judgment & high emotion (they all might die the next day!) lily decided to sleep with james despite knowing it would mean something different for each of them & would probably make her feel like shit the next morning. james was down 2 clown & was just like aw my friend who i love of course i wanna have sex let’s have a good time! regulus walked in on them & got mad at lily bc he felt like she had betrayed their pact not to sleep with james & also bc he is jealous (he’s not being entirely fair to her, but emotions are messy sometimes, & lily understands why he’s upset). so in his anger he basically told james “u idiot she’s in love with u” & james, who thought he & lily were on the same page feelings-wise, realized that they were not & he slept with her even though he doesn’t reciprocate those feelings, which will hurt her.

so now lily feels shitty bc she sort of promised regulus she wouldn’t sleep w james and then did, and also bc james now knows she’s been in love w him 4 years which will irrevocably change & possibly destroy the once close friendship they had. and also she’s upset w regulus 4 telling james she was in love w him even if she understands why he did it. regulus feels shitty bc he walked in on his best friend sleeping w the man he’s in love with after she said she wouldn’t & he’s jealous & he’s angry at james 4 hurting lily even tho it wasn’t intentional & he’s angry at lily 4 putting herself in that situation knowing she’d get hurt & that it would hurt him & he feels guilty 4 telling james lily was in love w him bc he knows he just did it 2 hurt them both back so he’s angry at himself as well. james feels shitty bc he thought regulus & lily were both happy just being friends but is realizing that they’re actually in love with him and thus that his inability to reciprocate those feelings hurts them both deeply & there’s nothing he can do about it. & even if he could this is not a situation where either of them would be happy if he loved them both back like if he was in love with lily it would hurt regulus if he was in love with regulus it would hurt lily so. it’s a mess & everyone feels bad yayyyy who else cheered

dogging on hs is a full time job and we're employees of the month 🤞 ntm on hs tho bc i will end up playing hs3 if it's ever released bc i need to see my li happy.

im new to rc so i can't say much about the writers but i think what you said does make a lot of sense. when new characters were introduced in hs2 it had the same tone as hs1. i would say there was a slight improvement bc astaroth and hunger were 10x more interesting than hs1 characters but the dialogue and their way of speaking was the same as hs1. like how do you pride yourself on being soo much better than mortals and speak exactly like them? why are you, as lucifer, speaking like a frat boy? make it make sense.

anyway, as opposed to hs, the immortals are actually different from mortals. lane noticing the lack of human warmth and emotions on cains face, despite how serene and aristocratic he looks right off the bat immediately showed us that they're not easily understood and they operate differently than humans. and the dialogue flows so much more naturally in hsr and different characters have their own distinguished way of speaking. (interesting that cain sometimes speaks so formally like during the church scene, but at other times uses mortal slang. just how long has he been roaming around earth?)

tbh now that ive analyzed the flying scene, he does seem somewhat sincere and like you said, they're both only looking out for themselves so they have a sense of kinship. (also love that lane is so unbothered about saving humanity or whatever and specifically said shes only going to translate what she needs... im obsessed with her)

but is it insane of me to hope that he's just being nice for the sake of using her? ive been ranting to everyone who would listen about how much i adore the church scene, it was the exact balance of unsettling and sensual, psychedelic and dreamlike. it had so much tension and i loved how cain was portrayed in it. but he's being suspiciously sweet and protective of her, cute, but i miss the tension 😭 he and lane are some of the most interesting characters ive seen in a while and id hate for them to lose everything that makes them unique to a generic romance so early.

what about your theories on how they could've known each other earlier? and what do you think about cain's past?

it really is just in the book's nature i think because if you look at the massive growth of alice's writing between hs1 and hs2, it's wild how the writing for hs2 still isn't that much better except in certain areas (hunger is masterfully written, for example, and the emo vibe was captured pretty well too since alice is an angst grandmaster)

like heaven's secret is simply, intrinsically, a haphazard low-quality story - because that was the foundation in hs1 and so it's only natural hs2 and hs3 will be the same. and i'm not hating on it when i say that because i definitely get why some people love it but as someone who's a bit of a snob and doesn't like harry potter vibe stories, it's just not for me

i'm living for your thoughts and analysis of hs:r though omg i didn't catch on to cain's manner of speech swinging between formal and informal, that's so interesting?? but YES overall i'm also hoping that we'll get more of the intensity we got with the church scene and that the dark undertone to their dynamic will prove to be an actual Theme and not just a one-off thing. i would actually GRIEVE if cain's route devolved into basic lovey dovey shit 😭

when it comes to cain's past and his history with lane, i... have no clue tbh like that's just how good the suspense is. generally i'm expecting cain to be somehow tied to the event/entity/power that caused lane's memory gap because her dreams are clearly very significant and she dreams of him at the start of the book + that could be the reason why she got so woozy in the church scene instead of him seducing her with his power, because of whatever tie that binds them through that. but we know so little about him and his motivations that it's hard for me to theorize anything about his past. i adore pre-established dynamics though so i honestly think we're in for some juicy shit regardless of our theories. i can't wait!!!

What’s one of the best gifts you’ve ever received? during the pandemic when lockdown restrictions had eased a bit, my friends surprised me at my house with a homemade cake. i think the fact that it was so unexpected and they had gone out of their way (i lived a few towns over) to celebrate my bday made it rly special

RO.Bug

Sayta & Neska are two cockroach sisters working as bounty hunters to put some food on the table. Sometimes Neska’s best friend Artun also tags along to help them out. They all live in the remains of a human house, where a lot of other bugs built their towns and cities.

This is the project that currently I’m putting the most focus on, working on the script and hopefully soon - drawing the pages of the comic!

RO.Bug: The Sinking Ruins

This is a project of a game that I worked on for my thesis. It takes place in the same universe as RO.Bug of course, but it focuses on a different location and different characters.

Isel is a moth traversing the old ruins on their robotic wings, trying to find a way back to their kingdom and to the man who took their wings in the first place.

RO.Bug: TSR on ToyHouse

I also had ideas for multiple spin-offs that take place in RO.Bug universe, mostly games with a couple webcomics, but right now I’m focusing on the two RO.Bug projects mentioned here so I won’t introduce the rest until I have more concrete concepts.

Purgatorium

A concept that started out as an idea for a comic, that later turned into an idea for a game due to its complexities and different endings. I don’t want to spoil it too much, so all you need to know about this for now is that it takes place in the afterlife and the main character wants to learn about their life and how they died.

MetalHero / Stage Heroes

I’m still not 100% set on the title for this one because I’m still looking into what isn’t copyrighted yet or how many protagonists I want to include (it started out with one but as more characters arrived the more it seemed this story could benefit from either having multiple POVs or being an anthology series)

It’s about superheroes with powers based on music - different genres, specific bands, artists or even instruments and songs. One of the heroes we follow is MetalHero (again, probably the name will be changed bc this one might be copyrighted), a friendly silly guy who just happens to be into metal - and also everyone in his city knows his identity and is chill about it~

It will start off as a webcomic, even though it could benefit from being an animated series.

Currently I don’t focus too much on this project, because the bugs take all of my time lmao but if you wanna see some of my old artwork featuring these guys, you can scroll down my instagram :D (I probably posted about them here too, but it’s easier to find them there) also if you have any questions regarding this series, feel free to ask~ !

oh ur tags about how ppl deal with steve being a little slutty lol i see it sooo muchhh like they love it when he has wild freaky sex but only when it’s with one person like pls relax about casual sex pls! the energy given towards casual sex reminds me so much of what my old religion teacher used to say about it which essentially boils down to every sexual partner takes half ur soul like some sort of weird horcrux situation. and like there’s always this energy of a one true love “saving” steve from the horrors of casual sex. like he’s having fun sucking and fucking he’s fine lol maybe they need to do some soup searching tho

IT REALLY IS like I think if you are genuinely trying to explore different options for his sexuality (specially him being gay or on the ace spectrum) it’s one thing, but like, the amount of fics that act like all the rumors are a lie for no discernable reason 

idk maybe its a way to like purify steve somehow? The same way fics go out of their way to talk about how sweet and kind and helpful steve was before big mean tommy and carol came and forced him to start being a huge bully!! I mentioned this in your tags but i’ve legit seen more than one fic where he loses his virginity to nancy that night in s1 and im just like??? Whats the point of this what does this do for the character lol. People hate on stancy bc of how it ended but his relationship with her was significant to his character growth for more reasons than the Jonathan fight, and him having his first like actually serious relationship after a bunch of not serious ones i feel like is a big thing?

Then the other half is them doing the thing where they want to make sex with your “soulmate” or something the most important sex you will ever have!! And the best sex you will ever have the first time you ever have sex with that person!! (which is a whole other issue - it’s okay to have embarrassing or just mid sex with your partner esp for the first time it doesn’t need to be perfect and amazing the first time) like casual sex and intimate relationship sex are different things often but that doesn’t mean one is automatically bad….

YOURE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE RELIGION TEACHER THING THO like it feels very purity culture-esque the way people talk about it. Its okay for steve to have sex and like having sex! I get that he makes a comment about wanting a lasting relationship which is fine but he doesn’t need to actually be “saved” in anyway from fucking around he can choose to stop doing that himself anytime he wants and he doesn’t! Bc casual sex is fun and is obviously something he enjoys it just isn’t filling all of his emotional needs which is also fine!!

But yeah I really wish fandom realized how much they CONSTANTLY sound like they are repeating or perpetuating purity culture. Fandom will have Steve fall in love in 2 days to the point he will abandon his friends/found family for them but god forbid he casually gets his dick wet outside of their otp and actually enjoys it
