So I started looking into ways to get my fictional war kitty cats tweaked! :D

EDIT: If y’all enjoy this research, take a look at my rewrite!! I tend to dip down deep into a lot of various aspects, and end up including a lot of it into the story itself!! ^^

DISCLAIMER: Do not give any of these things to your real life pets to ingest in light of what is described below, especially not without doing research or asking the opinion of an animal healthcare professional. This guide is merely an attempt to share some fun knowledge and additional world building for a FICTIONAL society of cats. You should never try to give your real life animals things described in books or writhing unless they’ve come from people who actively know what they’re doing and have something to prove it.

LIQUIDS

SYRUPS

With the easy access that these cats have to multiple trees, the syrups that they have the ability to make aren’t just limited to maple! Various nut producing trees (walnut, heartnut, butternut, etc) boxelder, alder, birch, and pine (amongst others) are all notable for their sap, which can, of course, be turned into syrup.

Though these sorts of syrups are primarily for flavor. The syrup that these guys would mostly be looking to for some fun times would come from other sources…

Namely valerian root syrup! If catnip can be compared to marijuana, then valerian root specifically might be a bit more like phencyclidine in terms of behavior, or isobutyl nitrite (rush) via chemical effects. It is commonly used in small doses by veterinarians to treat stress and anxiety in animals.

This is probably the only thing on the liquid list that might actually be safe for cats to ingest. But I want to stress again: Do Not give your pets anything from this list; I am NOT an expert in this field.

MEADS

Mead is probably the easiest for these cats to make, should they have any sort of access to honey.

Rather than adding yeast, which can be harmful to cats alongside being quite difficult for them to get their paws on, mead is to be fermented! Natural, less harmful yeast comes from the air (room-temperature water and honey is the ideal for fermentation) or it can be added via fruits or spices.

This is not safe for irl cats, however in small amounts, or fictional feline friends can enjoy some ol’ fermented honey-and-water fun.

CIDERS

Since the cats have used the prefix “Apple-”several times, we can clearly see that they know of apples. Which in turn, I’m sure, means they have access to them.

A natural, non-harmful yeast lives on the surface of apples straight from the stem, and as soon as it’s pressed into juice, it will ferment and become alcoholic on its own when left in a contained space and at a steady temperature.

Depending on the time it’s left to it’s own devices, that will affect the taste.

Keep in mind that all of these liquids are pretty high in both natural sugars, as well as containing sugars purposefully added; excessive sugar isn’t healthy for cats, so should they be able to make these, the danger of overindulgence should be stressed.

HERBS

CATNIP

Also known as Nepeta cataria, catswort/catwort, and catmint, catnip is an herb that is most well-known for its affects on felines.

It is most commonly used as a recreational substance and has been observed to have many different effects on various cats. One-third of cats have been noted to not be affected by catnip, and it seems that the behavior is linked to genes and age, and is usually hereditary.

The herb can improve relaxation, which may reduce anxiety, restlessness, and nervousness, making it a prime option in terms of medicinal uses. For recreational uses, however, it may cause cats to act in a number of different fashions, however the most common are as follows: excessive rubbing, rolling around, pawing, licking, and chewing when exposed solely to the scent, while consumption is followed by sleepiness, anxiety, bursts of energy, drooling, purring, biting, growling or meowing loudly.

MATATABI (Silver Vine)

While catnip is the most well-known, matatabi is reportedly more potent and effective. Silver vine contains more and different compounds that cats like and respond to, and, unlike catnip, silver vine’s effects are nearly immediate and last for a much shorter amount of time.

Also unlike in catnip, matatabi is most effective outright consumed, especially in the forms of sticks! Chewing on matatabi sticks, twigs, and shoots is not only a good way for cats to still feel the effects (which are the same as catnip’s, though with a more prominent lean into relaxation and stress-relief), but also an excellent way to keep up with dental hygiene!

Alongside being a a recreational substance, matatabi also has medicinal uses! It contains a significant amount of vitamin C, and is known to lower high blood pressure and provide relief from arthritis pains. In especially large quantities, its leaves may also have a mildly hallucinogenic effect.

TATARIAN HONEYSUCKLE

Honeysuckle berries, flowers, and leaves are toxic to cats and should not be given to them under any circumstances. It is exclusively the wood part of the plant that is safe, and is most often used via scent sprays and toys.

Unlike catnip and matatabi, tatarian honeysuckle specifically has been reported to not possess the same age effective limits that it’s counterparts have. As such, it is a prime choice to stuff into toys (for our cats in question: at the center of moss balls, inside of fabric toys, stuffed into woven mats, etc), especially for younger cats.

Tartarian honeysuckle also has an extended growing season: producing leaves, flowers and berries very early on during spring, and shutting down only late into the autumnal months. It grows quickly and tall, however it is invasive and can very quickly choke out other plants should it be left to its own devices.

FOODS

MUSHROOMS

Raw mushrooms are difficult for cats to digest, so any mushrooms eaten by this guys should only be done so if they have been thoroughly cooked and softened up.

Psilocybin mushroom specifically can be used for this purpose. Some psychedelic mushrooms can also be used for medicinal purposes via treating some forms of treatment-resistant depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and other mental health disorders.

Most hallucinogenic mushrooms used for recreational purposes are toxic to pets, however. Look HERE for various listings of mushroom poisoning and toxicity, alongside any potential symptoms found in some pets for some of these mushroom poisonings.

SEEDS

Various seeds can be used and are safe in moderation for cats.

Raw, unwashed poppy seeds specifically are some of the most popular - and some we see used even in Warriors canon as medicine! The seeds are most commonly boiled and made into teas that supposedly relieve pain, while other teas are simply used in an attempt to wring out the “high” and relaxation from said poppy seeds.

BERRIES

Mulberries specifically are the only berries I’ve found that are safe for cats to ingest while also providing some sort of recreational reaction.

Ripe fruit is a nice snack for cats on occasion! The hallucinogenics come from unripened berries, mature leaves, and the white sap that they produce.

Unripe fruit may (and probably will) cause stomach discomfort, neurological system hyperactivity, and hallucinations when consumed.

I recently started redesigning characters from HH for my and my friends au’s, first one I did was Lucifer :D

He quickly became my favourite character, and I really wanted to have my own take on him.

I would really appreciate if you gave me you feedback and thoughts! I know text I wrote is long, but I really tried to make things interesting <:) I do not support Viv, I pirated the show and I know it’s flaws, so I am trying to fix them how I like.

First of all, visual design changes. I want to say that I didn’t put “animation friendly design” as my priority, in show I would like to decrease amount of his details, but here it’s not very important.

Facial features changes:

- I wanted to make him look more interesting, adding goat symbolism in his eyes, nose, horns and ears. He looks kinda strange in show if think about it, angels there don’t have any noses? It bothers me a bit.

- Here I am taking a turn into making Lucifer and Satan into once person, unlike in the show. I just wanted and It seemed more logical to me. His hair is now wavy/curly, I took inspiration from paintings and sculptures where Lucifer is depicted with wavy hair.

Outfit:

- His shoulder pads(if I am using the right word) have small details on them which I repeated on his coat. I change his bow tie to a tie mostly due a personal preference, and now eye and appears only in his demon form is visible at all times.

- Hat now has a single big apple in the middle, and snake can be either on staff or the hat. Staff now has dark wooden texture that flows into the apple, resembling a tree.

Now onto character role, personality and behaviour changes.

Trying to be equal to God:

- Biblical reason to Lucifer’s fall was his pride and desire to be equal to his creator. If we had this motivation for him in the show, it would be much better. It suits person who lives in circle of Pride, it may explain why Lilith took Charlie away from Lucifer in that one scene, it adds depth into Charlie’s daddy issues. I love for how dorky and unserious he is the show but here, I wanted to follow another path, of making Lucifer actually prideful, terrifying king of hell.

- God sees everything. In attempts to imitate it, Lucifer the same way sees and knows about most of what happens in hell. You notice how much eye ornaments are on the streets? I took this idea in Lucifer being able to spectate whenever he wants on any place eyes are placed in. This extends to every ring, having even more power than Vox and his cameras. Lucifer’s eyes on his cape may also appear in situation when he decides to watch sinners and demons, as well as pupils shift form. He also knows every soul who enters and leaves hell, like Sera.

- I often see points about Lucifer being God’s favourite in the past. This could be incorporated in the story, making even more sense for Lucifer to be so prideful. Charlie could face the same consequences, + Lucifer could treat her like Charlie is a God’s son, like Lucifer himself is. More depth and angst into Charlie’s relationship with father, yay!!

Other changes:

- He could use more coldness to the sinners. I don’t think it much matters to him if they are killed, more than that, Lucifer would kill the sinners like exorcists do, if they are not acting how he wants to. But in hell, you can’t run away from Lucifer like it is possible from exorcists. It would make him more scary.

- He and the royal family because of the first point are respected. Lucifer’s pride wouldn’t allow him to treat him badly.

This is not all, put the post is long already and I am still thinking things out. I will make part 2 with his full demon from and more thoughts, so stay tuned!

Decrypting the fragmented messages from Martyn‘s PiratesSMP finale (I‘m back with lore brainrot yay!)

In his stream there‘s 6 messages he gets with only parts revealed. The rest looks like this with the strange symbols always changing.

So here’s all the timestamps for the messages & what I’ve been able to get from them. I can‘t ensure they are correct. (The text in italics is stuff that I‘m still unsure about & the rows of 5s are the words I haven‘t been able to decrypt. I‘ll explain why that is below.)

I‘ll try my best to explain how I got to these results now (I hope this explanation makes sense to someone lol)

Firstly I looked at all these messages, screen recorded them and then did some research on how to even make them look like this. I found a tutorial and during this video I noticed that not every fragmented letters looks the same. They are based on the width of the original text. An i is a very slim letter so the fragmented (or as it is apparently called, obfuscated) text would be slim as well. The opposite goes for a wide letter like w and d which will result in a wide fragmented character.

With this info and the example message Martyn revealed I was able to test and confirm this. Every fragmented symbol has a set width, reaching from 1 to 5 pixels. The fragmented characters constantly change, but they always stay the same size. So all I had to do now was skip through my recordings of the messages and find frames where the I can count the pixels of every missing character and write the number down. It took very long and I had to check several times because I kept making mistakes and miscounting. But I got these results:

(didn’t do 1 & 3 because 1 was kinda obvious and 3 was already revealed. )

Now I know the amount of missing characters & how many pixels wide they are. In the minecraft text font almost all characters are five pixels wide, as you see above. But there are a few outliers:

4 pixels: lowercase k & f

3 pixels: lowercase t and uppercase i

2 pixels: lowercase L and apostrophes (there is also a 1 pixel apostrophe but it doesn‘t seem like it‘s used here)

1 pixel: lower i as well as dots, exclamation marks and commas

With this I was able to read some of the missing letters. The rest was guessing. Or I guess using wordle solvers and other websites to find fitting words. That’s how I got to the results above.

Additional notes on the messages:

— I don‘t know if the word in message 4 for is invention or infection. I think both would work. Infection could mean some kind of virus?

— Iris is the only word I could find that would fit with a capital i (and make sense in the context of pirates) but I haven‘t been able to form a logical sentence with it. I‘m assuming it is a capital letter because it‘s a new sentence. But it could technically be a t. (if anyone has ideas on this pls tell me..)

— Don‘t know what the missing words in message 5 are. I don‘t think they would change the meaning greatly though. (make doesn‘t work bc k is 4 pixels)

— The italics words in message 6 I‘m still a bit unsure about. There is some other word groups that could fit, but none of them made much sense in the whole sentence. I do think it’s possible that I‘m wrong there.

— Edit, bc I forgot to add this. But I don‘t know why there is a singular n in message 6. It is either a strange way to shorten and which would not match the rest of the writing style at all or it is a typo which I don‘t think is that unlikely tbh. I think the way the message would have to be written (with commands I assume) would make it easy to make a mistake there, so maybe it is just the n from open.

— Edit 2: Missing part in message 5 might be "We need a distraction …" (suggestion from @.ilexdiapason)

I am honestly very surprised that I got this far. Not what I was expecting when I started this. Obviously these messages weren‘t intended to be decrypted like his — which is why I don‘t think I will ever figure out the full messages — but I wanted to try anyway. Martyn has said he‘ll reveal them at some point so I guess I‘ll find out how correct I am. I definitely had my fun with this, also big thanks to the two people (once and percival) in Martyns discord that were replying to my messages while I was doing this lol <3

So, this is mostly just a fun timeline I made with little research backing it, but I thought it might be cool to share?

It goes through what historical events happened throughout Alastor’s life that might have impacted him and sets the stage for what his life might have looked like. It does hinge quite a bit on US history, so I will also touch on parts of that for our friends who aren’t from the US and don’t know : D

Now keep in mind that this is more of just a list of fun facts that i’ve shoved into a readable outline, than anything put together lol.

Alastor is said to be in his 30’s or 40’s when he died in 1933, this puts his year of birth at a rough range of 1890-1900. For the purpose of this timeline, I will be assuming that Alastor was born in the year 1902 because I want to. This would make him 31 at the time of his death.

In 1892, the supreme court ruled on Plessy vs Ferguson, which was what established the idea of ‘Separate but Equal’ <- (i'm assuming people know what that is and stuff, if you don’t know, feel free to ask, I can give more of a history lesson)

From 1900-1909, education past the 5th grade did not EXIST in New Orleans for black children. This is a large part of why I believe a birth year of at least 1900 would be more accurate for Alastor, as he would have been 7-9 (2nd-4th) when middle school (6th-8th) became available to him.

In 1917, McDonogh No. 35 High School became the first public high school for black teens. Alastor would have been 15 in my timeline. This means that he would have likely been out of school for a year under the assumption that he wouldn’t be able to go anymore. (There were a couple private schools, but those were Expensive!!)

1920: KKK reemerged in Louisiana <- (again, assuming people know the history on this, if you would like a quick history lesson, lmk!!)

In 1921, Alastor graduated! Yay!! He is now 19!

Now, a fun fact! Throughout all of this, radio has not existed as a Thing in New Orleans. Alastor would not have grown up listening to the radio. It would have been new tech for him!!

In 1922, the first radio station came to New Orleans!!! It’s called WWL and it runs … drumroll please … ADS!!! In an attempt to raise funds for Loyola University! Exciting, right? : D

By 1927, the Federal Radio Commission was established in an effort to help organize airwaves, which had become messy and disorganized from the abundance of unlicensed, random people broadcasting.

Also 1933, oddly enough, A newspaper somehow managed to get radio stations in New Orleans legally banned from airing news from the last 24 hours?????

An interesting note. This ban went through in the summer. Deer season is in the winter (Dec-Jan), so it was either banned 6 months before or 6 months after Alastor’s death

1934: FRC is replaced by the Federal Communications Commission

I had so much fun making this~ Sam get the fantasy AU fit while Tucker gets Cyber/futuristic style

And Tucker would vibe very well with fancy future stuffs. i was gonna draw him with a bigger puffer but I couldn't figured it out. I like the one we got here too so yay

Okay so I was a bit pressed on time while working on this so I couldn't do as much research and references as I should.

On Sam's part, the somewhat floating book was inspired on how genshin impact's catalysts have their books/weapon just floats and it looks fancy n magical n Sam deserve that honestly

Her glowing tattoo are highkey inspired of this beautiful Sam with tattoos art by @the-stove-is-on-fire Mine is nowhere close to that but that's my main inspiration for this

I was gonna give Tucker his usual orange sweater but I noticed a lot of neon or cyberpunk outfit relies on dark backdrop to pop.

And since the background color is gonna be bright yellow, I gotta put the dark color somewhere else. And his sweater would be the perfect spot to balance out all the brightness with a bit of darkness

And it matches with Sam too so it works out great uwu

The magic circles on their back were mostly there to balance out the composition bc it looks too empty as is, gotta spice it up a lil bit uwu But a direct halo would look.. too out there? I mean I can but like.. Sam is magic/fantasy based, why not lean on that n go for magic circles :D

Tucker's random bits on the background took the most out of me bc like.. its hard qwq I literally try to look up aesthetic bg to figure out how to work with his?? Eventually I just settle on less is more and added shadow under the bits to make em pops out against the orange

And for the color choices, I wanted the two of them to have purple, yellow, and green on them. The green color on to symbolize Danny bc I'm an Everlasting Trio shipper lmao

I wanted Sam to have some yellow and green on her magic, which kinda.. got covered with the whites honestly. But the greens stays with the vines so we'll go with that Tucker was harder to figure out, so I settle with him with blue and greens instead of purple qwq

In the end, only the green end up staying lmao It ends up unifying both sides so hell yea it all works out lol

THE BEST-WORST SALMON RUN TEAM!

Hey, Scarlet Sparks from the Squid Research Lab here! I'm here to tell all you inkfish about "The Best-Worst Salmon Run Team"- also known as the Bar Team! These frantic fish are here to save the day from... drunk fish? Bar customers? Whatever it may be- they're here and they're going to make their names clear!

Mix is a nervous, overworked mixologist from back in Inkopolis Square... though he never seems to be able to get back home! On the clock and in uniform 24/7, this clammy, unconfident Octoling is always ready to fight! He might look unintimidating, but he packs a punch (if you're a salmon, that is), and works so much he might as well be C-Egg-O more than Mr. Grizz himself! Don't be fooled, though- this bartender might be a Salmon Run enthusiast, but he couldn't win a round of Anarchy to save his beak, and is still in C-. His favorite weapon: the Snipewriter, to make up for his shaky hands.

Drunkie is a drink enthusiast, and always has a Tacticooler on hand. Being Mix's best customer back home, he's picked up a few things about being an Eggsecutive. Currently swimming at a solid A- in Anarchy and a Profreshional +1 in Salmon Run, this silly cephalopod is a jack of all trades, master of none. His favorite weapon: the Tri-Slosher Nouveau, for its fizzy bombs and fizzy drinks!

Kopi is a spunky, spiky cephalopod ready to fight and win! Frenemies with Mix and Drunkie, she's the one most often starting the fabled bar fights Mix has to stop. Not to mention, she's a mechanical scientist, and was able to find out a way to place two of her tentacles on her back... and somehow get past Turf-War security every time. A quick, mobile fighter, she stands at an X +1300 in Anarchy and an Overachiever in Salmon Run. Her favorite weapon: The good old, classic Hydra Splatling, to whir up and splat a whole team in the blink of an eye!

Kumo is a friendly fellow with a spring in his step and a welcoming air! Good friends with all three of the other team members, this defender is always ready to do anything for his team with his trusty roller, no matter the cost! He'll always take time to have a drink or two with the rest of them, and somehow hold the arguing group together with it. He's pretty good in Splat Zones and Turf War, and is a force to be reckoned with in Salmon Run! He swims at an A in Anarchy and a Profreshional +3 in Salmon Run. His favorite weapon: his perfect Splat Roller, for an easy change of playstyle no matter the way the game goes.

yay, another lot finished up for redbud bay! this is the home of the first lesbian couple i had in this 'hood: doctor aoife kramer (named after @oceansmotion) and her wife, schoolteacher ivory moore. they also have an adopted son, harald, who may soon be getting a baby sibling this round!

the original lot was alisomar, 3t2'd by @danies-simsational-blog, but i pretty much completely rebuilt the exterior, changed the layout, and of course redecorated everything. went on a big t$r 'old cc' shopping spree recently too and got a bunch of new furniture to try out 🤞🏽

the backyard is the only thing that i mostly left untouched, i just moved a couple of plants around and added a garden for ivory 💚

doc aoife has her own medical research office i guess, and the couple also has a cat named tabitha. i put up a bunch of little kiddie decorations since ivory wants another baby.

writing injuries: 101

hi goblins and ghouls let me teach you how to write that silly little stab would you decided to give your silly little guy so that you could rip out the hearts of your reader, even more.

Hopefully you have gathered from the title that this will be discussing WOUNDS! BLOOD! GORE! OTHER NASTYS! If you disagree with my advice, MORE THAN OKAY! I'd love to hear yours and we can exchange tips! Lets get into it.

Types of Injuries

To write a realistic injury you NEED to know three things: A) What type of boo-boo B) What caused said boo-boo C) Where is the boo-boo D) Who will kiss boo-boo better (optional) edit: according to my friend D is not optional, so. find someone to kiss it better

Common types of injuries

I am by NO MEANS a professional so... take with a grain of salt. There are so many resources out there if you need to get specific but here's some simple shit xoxo:

Abrasion: Remember when you fell on the street as a skin and scrapped the shit out of your knee? Yeah. That. Its broken skin caused by friction against rough surfaces: requires IMMEDIATE cleaning.

Animal Chomps (bites): These can and will cause an infection if you don't treat it. Your 5'3 teenage girl CANNOT brush off that wolf bite apocalypse writers. Get her to the closest med tent.

Avulsion: A injury's caused when a body part is ripped away either partially or fully (HELLO SAW MOVIES). Results in some severe trauma (physically and mentally if they live) Typically caused by gunshot wounds, explosion's, car crashes etc.)

Bruise: Muscle fibers, blood vessels, and connective tissues are damaged with these bad boys. They cause that bluish purply look. Bruises do change colour to a yellow-green the older they are so do your research!

Burn: There are three degrees and a whole lot of different types for this mf and I can do a separate post on burns if you all want, but in general it is damage to the skin caused by heat, chemicals, radiation or sunlight (we all are too familiar with that last one). As some of know it can result in Swelling, Blistering, and scaring. Now if you gave your creature a really bad burn then it can cause shock, death and the destruction of the skin! And it leaves your victim of choice vulnerable to infection! Yay!!!

Fracture: a break in the bone, it literally looks fractured. It causes pain swelling, numbness and possibly deformity. You will likely need to send your character to the doctor.

Laceration: A cut, slice, tear in the skin, these are not stab wounds this is like if you accidentally cut yourself on glass or if someone swung at you with a knife and it sliced you, but it didn't go into your body and stay there. You get the idea.

Puncture wounds: THIS. THESE ARE YOUR STABS. Penetration to the skin caused by any sort of (usually sharp) object. These are the wounds your serial killer might use in the final moments of the kill with his knife, or the final blow to your hero's enemy with his sword.

Sprain: Ligaments (the things you see in x-rays that hold the bones together) that have been stretched or torn which happens when the joins move into unnatural positions. Usually, this results in stiffness, discoloration and swelling.

Strain: NOTE, Sprain and Strain ARE different. This is what happens when a muscle or tendon (not a ligament) is pulled, twisted or torn. Typically caused by over-stretching/contracting. Usually results in pain, muscle spams, and weakness.

Please note, that like I mentioned with burns there are degrees of severity for ALL OF THESE so please do your research this is just a starting point.

Care & Aftermath

LOTS of writers forget this part and its so sad. You want cute scenes between to characters who aren't yet dating but your rooting for? ONE OF THEM JUST GOT HURT AND THE OTHER IS TENDING TO IT. BAM INSTANT CUTE SCENE. Do not forget about your aftermath and medical care. Most injuries if left untreated WILL WORSEN if you leave them alone so FIX UP YOUR GUYS.

Do your research!! Look up the kind of injury your character sustained, the severity of it and you'll find recovery time and the kind of treatment they'll need.

In my experience, the more you focus on the aftermath of wounds, the more realistic it seems even if your dashing hero just got his arm ripped off by a dragon.

Writing the injury

You do not, now listen closely. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WRITE A MEDICALLY ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE WOUND. You're probably writing fiction and not a med student essay. If you are... email your professor I cannot help you here.

Just focus on getting the basics down. What's the bleeding? How bad is the swelling? What's the pain level at? and just leave the rest to the imagination. Unless your character is a doctor or whatever, your little dudes will also not know exactly what an Avulsion is. You can just say that there's a gaping hole or something. They'll be far to focused on the pain or whatever is causing it to diagnose themselves then and there.

Realism

I pinky promise you that as long as you have the basics, your readers will pick up what your laying down. The characters reaction is the most important part. How are they feeling emotionally? Are they having a physical reaction to the pain (Limping, shaking)? Do they have any physical response to the sight of their own/others blood? Do they experience shock? What's their attitude after it all?

These are the questions you should ask yourself. A war-hardened soilder will react differently to a gunshot wound than someone fresh out of high school.

Secretly he was worried i mean what if you walked around in the evening for a small walk and decided to fall asleep on the bench??? The world is dangerous and he can’t have that

So now he is bringing you home and picking you up from school

The same goes when you two go on some dates

You were still sleepy

So he decided to let you have a sleepover at his house for a week

You…you slept at a normal time? You didn’t take any caffeine??

So he decided to look on the internet for causes and methods

After trying every method he gave up and just accepted that his parter/gf/bf is sleepy no matter what💖
