Okay, now I'm thinking about how the Riders love Hiccup very much and saw his obsession for Viggo manifest and how that must've felt for them to see him go down that path. He even got Snotlout to work himself raw in "A Grim Retreat"! And Snotlout hates work!

I'm trying to count how many times Hiccup is captured/kidnapped throughout both series, the movies and the short films, so here's my criteria:

Any time he is unwillingly moved from one location to another by a dragon, viking or other character.

This includes any dragons picking him up and flying off somewhere, even if he is okay with it later.

This does not include when Toothless/his friends drag him off to show him something.

Any situation that prompted the dragon riders to rescue him.

Any plans that involved him giving himself up or joining up with a villain/antagonist.

This does not include the time he and Dagur were trapped on that island together.

Any time he is tied up and led somewhere or locked up/held in place with a guard.

Here is the list of situations I have compiled in (hopefully) chronological order:

HTTYD

Congratulations, no captures or kidnappings.

GIFT OF THE NIGHT FURY

When Meatlug (accidentally) brings Hiccup along to the Rookery.

RIDERS OF BERK

S1E6 - Hiccup gets taken to Dragon Island.

S1E16 - Hiccup is captured by the Outcasts on their island.

S1E19 - Alvin Captures Hiccup and Toothless at the "Isle of Night".

DEFENDERS OF BERK

S1E20 - Hiccup gives himself up to Dagur as part of his plan with Alvin.

RACE TO THE EDGE

S1E1 - the Dragon Riders get captured by Daugr on a hunter ship.

S1E7 -The twins put him in prison (this one's just here because I think it's funny).

S2E6 - The Dragon Hunters capture him.

S2E11 - The Dragon Riders get captured trying to save the Skrill.

S3E1 - Hiccup is captured by Dragon Hunters while trapped on an island with Dagur.

S3E8 - Hiccup and Toothless get caught in a Dragon Hunter Trap and are kidnapped and forced to participate in dragon fights.

S3E12 - Viggo captures all the Dragon Riders at the auction.

S3E13 - The Defenders of the Wing capture the Dragon Riders.

S4E3 - First Hiccup is caught by Amos and Berthel.

S4E3 - Then he's caught by Savage.

S4E3 - Then Krogan gets him after Throk saves him.

S4E3 - Ryker captures him for the tiniest bit right before the riders arrive.

S4E10 - Hiccup is caught with Ruffnut when he tries to rescue her from Viggo's trap. Unlike the other traps, he needs the other dragon riders to rescue them.

S5E2 - The Sandbuster captures Hiccup and Snotlout.

S6E8 - Viggo hands Hiccup over to Krogan as part of their plan.

HTTYD 2

Valka kidnaps Hiccup and Toothless.

HTTYD 3

Grimmel captures the dragon riders.

HOMECOMING

Once again, no captures of kidnappings

Up For Debate:

There are a few situations which technically fit the criteria, but I'm not sure if they fit considering the context of the show:

S5E5 - the riders are stuck on Vanaheim, guarded by the Sentinels. (Rtte)

S1E3 - This is a technicality, but when Hiccup joins up with Dagur to keep him away from the other dragons. (Dob)

EDIT: I forgot that even though my criteria says that the time Dagur and Hiccup are trapped on that island together (S3E1 of RTTE) doesn't count, because he is joining up with an (at the time) antagonist, there is a moment when Hiccup is captured by Dragon Hunters near the end of the episode.

After careful discussion (aka me ranting at my roommate) S4E10 of RTTE is also moving from "up for debate" to the official list. These changes are reflected above.

This brings our official count to 22 captures/kidnappings!

Honestly, the hardest part about this was finding the distinction between being captured or being trapped and what I wanted to count. When Hiccup isn't captured, he spends a lot of time in traps.

The dragons shows are so mean to Astrid, she gets paralysed, catches the Scourge of Odin, shot in the leg, stranded at sea in a thunderstorm for a day, blinded by lightning, poisoned by slitherwing venom, almost 'loses' her dragon to the same venom, kidnapped several times, held at axe point, etc etc

Love how as Hiccup grew up, getting into flying related accidents or near-accidents was no longer “AAAA NOO OH NOOO!” It was just “not again…”

Like imagine him almost getting into the worst of accidents while flying with Stoick and just going “not again” and barely scraping by only to have Stoick all up in his face “what did you mean not again?! This has happened to you before?!”

Go on to have Hiccup try to explain why he should be allowed to ever fly again

Simon "Ghost" Riley x Reader "Banshee"

A/n: I'm very new to writing fanfiction so be easy on me please.

Summary: Simon has many regrets but losing you is his biggest one. And he has no one but himself, Ghost, to blame.

"Banshee, no you can't go. That's final." Ghost commands from below his balaclava. His posture stiff and absolute.

"Well it's a good thing I didn't ask you if I could then." Banshee spats at him. Slinging her bag over her shoulder and pushes past him shoulder checking him in the process.

"Banshee pull your head out of your ass! Stop being a bratty petty bitch who can't listen to reason." Banshee pauses halfway out the door.

"Just LISTEN to me! For once! All I do is for your own damn good. I'm trying to protect you."

Banshee whips back around. She slams the door closed and storms up to him shaking with rage and hurt.

"Are you really sure about that huh? Are you?! All you ever tell me is that I'm weak! A coward... That I need to do more. And then when I do you pull crap like this! Well I'm sick of it! Make your damn mind up! I don't care if you think your 'protecting'me." Banshee seethees jabbing her finger into his chest.

"I don't need you to fucking protect me, If anything I need protection from you!" She shouts at Ghost. Ghost goes to speak but she quickly silences him.

"No! Let me speak! You can't just shut me out and speak hateful words to me and then expect me to go along with everything you say and act like I'm happy with scraps of you!" She heaves out with tears in her eyes.

"You can't keep treating me this way... I'm not your enemy. And I'm not your property. I'm not even yours Simon... Simon ha." She laughs ruefully shaking her head.

"I'm definitely not Simons. I might be Ghost's when its useful to him but not you. Not the real you. Simon barely speaks to me. Doesn't trust me. So I'm stuck with mean Ghost. Who acts like he could give less a fuck about me. Has no respect for me. Wants to fuck use and own me then act like he doesn't know me. Well I'm done! I'm done..." She says with broke sob and walks to the door. She pauses. Hand hovering over the doorknob for a second. Then she leaves. Ghost makes no move to go after her and stares at the door numb. Simon feels hurt and betrayed.

22. Watching/Unable to Stop It/Cameras

Gas

Gas. What is currently being pumped into his friends' cells is a type of gas. It's purple in nature.

"No, no, no, no, no!" Hiccup shouts, looking over the control panel in front of him as if there's going to be some kind of button to press in the surveillance room.

The cameras present in every inch of this facility aren't old. They're in color, the quality is not that terrible and they provide sound.

His friends are coughing, attempting to stay away from the purple menace. There's shouting. Astrid has her top pulled over her mouth and nose, her hands pressing the fabric down in an attempt to make some kind of filter. She tries to force the door to open, to no avail. Fishlegs stuffs himself into a corner, panicking.

It's not any easier with the dragons, whose lungs fill with a much larger quantity of the gas. They panic. Fighting against the dragon-proof bars, roaring and crying up to the ceiling. He watches as Toothless tries and tries to claw his way out, a plasma blast so close to himself and the other dragons isn't a good idea.

They're drugging his friends, his Dragon Riders, with dragonroot. All of this because he managed to slip away.

And all Hiccup can do is watch helplessly.

In Alex Rider 1x08, Tom is kidnapped, beaten and stabbed by Alex’s evil clone. Alex rushes to save him, which allows Tom to save him in turn. I’ve seen a lot of Alex whump, but no Tom for some reason.
