Mikey rant ( tw opinions abt mikey that some ppl may not agree with 😔)

so. something i never say bc i dont rlly know how to say it is, Michelangelo has never been my favorite turtle. in fact usually he is my least favorite, and idk why. ive found him annoying sometimes but other times im like “nah hes just a lil silly guy” but tbh that was mostly for 2012 and 2003. and i know it sucks bc hes a lot of people favorite, and yeah i totally get that! hes fun and lovable but hes just never been for me.

but when i saw Rise that changed, his character was no longer just “haha wacky party dude” and now it showed who he was as a youngest brother, which imo is exactly what he needed. the writers did an AMAZING Job at giving all the characters so much dimension that even one of the characters who i had previously only known as the comic relief now had an entire personality that still felt like it could be mikey and not OOC.

Then MM came out, and i was ready for it to go back to the old Michelangelo tropes, but i was so pleasantly surprised by MM mikey. i actually REALLY liked him in this movie and i was super happy abt that. So i LOVED those two mikeys. Now TOTTMNT came out and im watching it, i cant get over how much i love this Mikey and how different he is. (yes ik its the same mikey im js using the different terms to be accurate) He isnt just dumbed down to the random goofy brother who lets anything fly, he gets kinda mad at some parts which sounds like a weird thing to point out, but its not something i see often with the older mikeys ( i mean they usually get mad at raph but at other ppl its kinda different )

i rly like this version of him and idk to place it as my fav or second fav (to rise ofc)  i feel like it would be unfair to call him “The Best Mikey” Considering how new he is compared to the others, but i would be lying if i said he wasnt already so much better than some of the others (personality-wise i mean. and i do not hate any of the Michelangelos and i wanna make that clear.) Also im pretty sure TottmnT mikey is second youngest? and im pretty sure thats new, its cool though it suits him and i think maybe him not being the youngest had smth to do with this character change? idk js a theory… a game-im just playing. I could talk abt this a lot and i might do if again later. Ty for listening and i would love to hear your thoughts like, did anyone else feel a bit annoyed by the way the older mikeys were portrayed?? i lowk liked ‘07 mikey even tho he was there for like 5 seconds💀 but lll have to rewatch it again to compare. ship i loved at first sight: tara x piper. i don't know what the ship name is. taper? pira? pira seems nicer lol. anyway, tara used to be my favourite brawler (and is still up there in my top 5) and i think the first time i saw tara x piper fanart was on reddit. it was by Xpyray and i swear to god ive never fallen in love with a ship faster. their art is so fucking good and they dont rlly draw brawl stuff anymore but i still follow them cuz their art is so so so pretty (please go follow them if youre reading this). anyway so yeah thats how tara x piper became my fav ship.

ships i initially didn't like: rico x piper, shelly x colt imma be fr at the start i didn't really Get these ships. but after watching some of the official animations and learning more of the lore, i started to appreciate these ships more. i don't love them or anything but they can be cute

ships i don't like anymore: sandy x nita, leon x jessie, sandy x leon there is no real reason for this other than the fact that i simply stopped liking them as i grew up. as i was making this i realised that when i was younger i used to like the ships with the kids/teens more, but now i'm 17 and i'm just not interested in them anymore. i guess thats what happens when you grow up lol. these ships are still cute, but i just don't engage with them anymore

favourite popular ships: mandy x chester, fang x buster so a bit of background, i actually quit brawl stars for a while, i think after the gale brawl pass. i dont really remember why, but its probably because i just got bored of the game lol. i think that also played into why i'm no longer interested in the same ships as before. anyway, i came back this year during the bizarre circus brawl pass and accidentally fell in love with these two ships. honestly, i'm not even entirely sure why i fell in love with these two ships in particular. chester definitely caught my eye when i came back to the game because a) i love clowns b) i love a good troll c) i love the random XD energy chester has and d) he has super interesting & fun game mechanics. i have no interest in mandy really but then i saw One suggestive mandy x chester fanart that went hard af and suddenly i was on board lmao. on the other hand fang and buster were two characters that i took some time to fall in love with, but now they're my favourites lol it's so strange. i really don't know how it happened.

favourite rarepair: amber x maisie i was looking at a diagram of all the trios so far because i was brainstorming ideas for who to include in a fanfic and as i was looking at it, suddenly it Clicked in my mind that amber x maisie would go hard af. like think about it. overconfident fire entertainer who gets so swept up in performances that she forgets about safety x safety coordinator with a fire extinguisher for an arm who secretly likes being in dangerous situations? come on!!!! im surprised more people havent thought of this pairing cuz as soon as it clicked for me it seemed like such an obvious pairing to do. but then again they've never interacted in any animation/promo material/etc so i guess it's not a pair people would just think of without prompting. but it's so fucking good!!!! more people need to get in on this ship.

controversial ship: none here's the thing. i don't know any controversial ships that i can see myself shipping. the most controversial one i know is probably edgar x colette but i see them as siblings so i don't ship it nor do i engage with fanart of them. edgar and colette ships in general are probably controversial seeing as both of them don't have canon ages and it's vague enough that people are always talking about whether they're adults or minors. but i personally see both of them as older teens so i don't ship them with anyone. (to me, they're too old to hang out with the kid brawlers but also too young to hang out with the adult brawlers. it's weird because there's no other brawlers where i see them as teens, so in my mind edgar and colette both have 0 shipping potential)

ships i want to become canon the most: amber x maisie, fang x buster they're my current favourite ships. what else to say.

comfort ship: fang x buster i think about them All the Fucking Time. lowkey i started to project on fang a bit just cuz i like him so much. i don't even know why or how i started liking him this much but he's my favourite brawler now and it's horrible. i think the seal in the coffin was @/giveittomegay's fanart of them. THEY'RE SO FUCKING CUTE. like omfg. confident, charismatic chinese immigrant who just arrived at starr park x introverted insecure white guy who doesn't know how to approach others. slowburn where they become closer through working at the cinema and buster realises he's fallen in love basically immediately but fang hasn't realised his own sexuality (has had crushes on girls before so always assumed he was straight) and doesn't realise he's in love with buster until maisie straight up tells him. fang's confidence means he jokingly flirts with buster all the time because he thinks it's funny to tease the guy and make him flustered but doesn't realise buster gets flustered because he likes fang. fang is fucking stupid. also, i think using fang x shelly here as a conflict plot point would be so good. like, fang seeing a pretty girl and approaching her, flirting with her, etc. i like to think fang is dense as fuck and would genuinely believe he's in love with shelly despite buster occupying 90% of his thoughts because his thought process would be something along the lines of "oh, i just think about him a lot cuz he's my best friend, i'm sure this is all regular, normal bff things". and buster just fucking dying inside but not saying anything because he thinks it's none of his business and he shouldn't interfere in fang's love life. MAISIE WATCHING ALL THIS HAPPEN AND WANTING TO MURDER BOTH OF THEM FOR BEING SO DENSE. like ohhhhhh my god there is so much potential here it's fucking insane. side note: fang doesn't have anything against gay people. i like to think maisie x amber comes way before fang x buster, so fang knows gay people exist and like he is perfectly fine and comfortable being around them, he's just so stupidly dense that he doesn't realise HE is gay (or more specifically bi). he also assumes buster is straight because default sexuality and whenever fang makes jokes based on this assumption buster never corrects him. because buster is a pussy. god. i want to write this fanfic so bad but i'm so fucking bad at writing dialogue it's insane.

ships that deserve more attention: amber x maisie, brock x bibi, barley x bull, max x janet LET ME COOK HERE OKAY. amber x maisie i already explained above. brock x bibi (i call them bibrock) is because it's noted in bibi's bio that she's secretly a huge nerd and i think it would be super cute for her to have a bf who she can indulge in nerdy and geeky shit with. to me they're both massive comic book fans who become close by playing all the superhero video games together before branching out to other games. they're console gamers btw and they get SUPER competitive whenever they're playing against each other. but they also do play coop games where they work together. usually brock is the one who does a lot of theorycrafting and tries to minmax his grind so he can get all the resources in the most optimal and time efficient way possible, whereas bibi prefers just going into fights and wrecking havoc lol. barley x bull is because they're both restaurant owners/servers (barley has his bar, bull has his diner) and i think they would bond over shitty customers and interesting food/drink recipes. they're both also familiar with having fights break out in their establishment and are fully capable of shutting fights down, even if it means getting their hands dirty. they think they're on opposite ends of the spectrum but they're actually more similar than they realise. for sure a very slowburn romance (especially because i think bull would be denial about liking a fucking robot lmfao) max x janet is because they're both celebrity entertainers. yeah, that's it. no but seriously i see max as someone who puts up an outgoing persona in public and is generally a very hyper, high energy person but at the same time, she tends to keep people at a distance because she's scared of intimacy. before janet, her closest friends are surge and meg. surge kind of Knows something is up with her because every time he tried to ask about her past she clammed up and gave noncommittal responses. he worries about her but doesn't know what to do about it so he just tries to make her happy in the present. meg is a kid so she doesn't realise anything is wrong lol. hanging out with meg and surge makes max happy and she considers them family, but she still has a wall up around her true self. janet is the one who is finally able to help max come out of her shell and address her past trauma. it also helps that max thinks janet is very pretty and desperately wants to kiss her. this is canon btw don't question me.

Kiryu Kazuma

Type of guy who will go just about anywhere if it makes you happy because he's happy when you're happy. Plus, he's got some pet experience with Mame so he isn't shy around animals.

Mostly just sits and admires the animals from afar. Quite reverent of animals and respects their space greatly. Loves watching you try to coax a shy cat out of its corner for pat-pats though.

Not a vocal guy, as we all know, but he loves listening to you coo and sigh over how cute the animals are. If he really likes one, he'll let out a "Ah, that one's real cute." out of the blue. This will also be the pet that he will try to interact with the most.

If you put an animal in his lap or if one crawls into his lap, unfortunately for Kiryu he will be stuck there forever I fear. Pets love him for his comfy thighs and body warmth and who is he to disturb their peace?

Takes a lot of random photos of the animals. Is it mostly to show them to the kids if he can? Yea. Maybe. Don't ask him about it, he might cry.

Majima Goro

There are two things in the world that Majima has no idea what to do with: animals and babies. He isn't afraid of them and he isn't totally stupid either. He could probably wing it if he needed to pet-sit or babysit, if for some godforsaken reason someone picked him to do those things. But otherwise, he's kind of indifferent.

However, since he loves you and you love going to pet cafes, then darn it he is going to the pet cafe. However, be warned, he just doesn't get it at all. Like not even the concept. He's just like "The hell ya wanna pay ta see random pets for?"

Kind of just stands or sits there at first. The colorful decor is... a lot. Ironic coming from a man who dresses like THAT. Anyways, he looks like an elephant in a china shop. All the other customers and guests, especially the couples are like "Who's the scary looking guy?" while you are oblivious and already cuddling the nearest animal.

Majima isn't going to let the bad vibes of strangers get in the way of this date, goddammit! If we're here to interact with animals well then he's just gonna have to go interact with a damn animal then! And away he goes to do just that...

Except how the fuck do you do that?! He has no idea what animals like. He does not know their body language, although at the very least he knows what a solid hiss from a cat means. Literally doesn't care if animals bite him though, especially small animals. Like if a kitten bites him, he'll just sorta lift his gloved hand up, kitten probably dangling from said hand, and say "Whaddya think yer doin'?". However, if an animal responds positively and plays with him, snuggles up to him, or starts purring, he'll be like "Woulda look at that." while grinning proudly like an idiot.

A/N: i actually love this idea and i think the headcanon format would work really well with this so here! also i have no basis for any of the things i made up about the reader and karl i fibbed on approximately everything. it was really fun writing this :] very wholesome of me. also! to make this more of a true “x reader” format i didn’t include any looks or genetic references or how you’re related to him (adopted, biological, etc)

i think karl is someone to make fun of you to your face but brag about you to his friends behind your back

“you look like a sewer rat who got a perm” when you get out of the shower but he’s all “yeah she cares so much about her appearance even though she looks good 100% of the time” to anyone else

your mom used to make him drive you to your friends’ houses and he’d play 100gecks so loud you couldn’t even talk. he did it on purpose tbh

your age gap is a little troublesome when it comes to being able to see him, as he lives fairly far away and has a job and all his friends there but you have little to no means to go visit him

on your christmas break he does actually buy your family all plane tickets and insists you come to his house and cook for him

he thinks you’re a spoiled brat, you think he’s an arrogant jackass

in all honestly your relationship is 80% love and 20% hate

his absolute Worst pet peeve when you lived together was you coming into his room when he was quote unquote “Seriously Gaming” and insist he help you with your school project or help you reach something on the top shelf of the kitchen cupboard

your worst pet peeve was the absolute Volume at which he chews

he chews like a cow.

the first crush you ever had was a blonde boy named connor who played basketball and had a coconut haircut

you went to a middle school dance with him during your 8th grade year and karl convinced your teachers (who had known him to be a prankster with semi-good grades in their classes) to let him be a chaperone

every slow dance he’d grab the microphone and very pointedly say “Leave Room For Jesus.” until connor would shuffle back an inch

in all seriousness , karl finds it extremely frustrating to see you unhappy, so he does anything in his power to make you feel better. whether it’s a horribly edited minecraft music video or having a heartfelt conversation (during which he kinda maybe sorta tries not to cry) you always hang up the phone with a smile on your face

he used to film these cute home videos during his middle school - high school years and you’d play his magician assistant, side kick, or partner in crime

they’re a treasure, and anytime he badmouths you you threaten to post them on youtube.

he shuts up pretty quick

he’s definitely the type to save all his notes from high school for you to use later

the hand-me-downs from him are absolutely Killer

the amount of grandpa sweaters he amasses is uncanny!

but you look so cute in them so he doesn’t care

He may not look it, but he can be just as clingy. So he loves it. At every little thing, whether it’s you grabbing his hand or walking arm in arm at every place you both go, or just laying your head on his shoulder when you’re both just hanging out and chilling in his room.

I feel like Akira would have a much more physical kind of love language, just having you close by is a big reassurance to him and sometimes there are days where the rumors catch up to him and the way he’s still held at a distance affects him more than what he lets on. It helps him when he knows you aren’t going to think of him as a criminal or worse.

As soon as you show any sort of physical affection just know he’ll be quick to reciprocate. And if you get flustered? Then he’s gonna double down on it until you’re both just a pair of very flushed and very sappy goofballs. Sojiro has nearly kicked you both out of Leblanc but apparently the old ladies live for it so they come by a lot, so you can stay but you’re both on thin ice.

He really likes your extroverted personality! If we look at this game mechanic wise, he does one thing and just automatically goes to sleep (morgana leering menacingly in the bg-). So looking at this more like characteristics, maybe his social battery isn’t as full as yours. But he’s also there for you in case you need to step back and relax too.

If you want to see a very red faced Ryuji. then you’ve accomplished that mission very successfully by clinging onto him whenever you’re both hanging out. And for as much as he tries to hide it, the guy blushes all the way to the tips of his ears. You’ll know when you’ve got him all flushed and embarrassed.

He also likes your extroverted nature too, bc mans is also a pretty big extrovert. You both end up as that very excitable pair in high school. Very high energy and people are either jealous of the relationship or want to knock your heads together for being so loud and energetic, there is no in-between. 

Ryuji’s another who acts lowkey about all the shit people say about him. But don’t be fooled, after what Kamoshida did, apart from breaking up the track team and also giving him a debilitating knee injury, and how his reputation plummeted as a result, he bottles up a lot and keeps the negatives to himself. He’ll wait until he’s alone so that way he doesn’t drag you down, he says. But you prove him wrong and he’s all the more grateful for it.

Ryuji definitely brags about you. You’re probably the man’s homescreen/lockscreen. Returning to the first point, the moment you grab onto his hand or his arm when you both are walking to and from places whether it be to school or just on a date, he tries to play it off all cool. No one is fooled because they can see the flush on the back of his neck to the tips of his ears. 

Once again I’m gonna warn for spoilers in these, but especially for Goro.

I’m not going to lie, Akechi will either really like the clinginess or hate it depending on the different stages of your relationship. If it’s the beginning of the relationship, you might honestly have been a cover up for more of the less than savory activities under Shido’s command. However as time goes on he finds your personality and overrall demeanor to be very refreshing compared to the rest of the people he’s had to deal with. 

Not to be like, lowkey angsty, but, I have feeling that just as he’s starting to let himself become closer to you, that lingering doubt that you’re going to either disappear or end up using him in some way rears its head. Maybe it will maybe it won’t but please let this guy know that you’re in it for the long run (however long it may be). That feeling won’t just disappear in a day, so somedays are rougher than others but the fact that you’ll still cling to him like you have previously is a small reassurance. (shido send me your location i just wanna talk-)

But n e ways after you get past that, if you when the two of you are somewhere private, he is probably just as clingy. Think Koala type of clingy, I just know Akechi is touch starved as hell. And dealing with the public image that he’s created for himself and being bombarded with all this attention from both fans and critics alike can be overwhelming at times. So it’s a bit like a relief when it can be just the two of you, away from prying eyes that want to know all about the new Detective Prince and his s/o. 

He greatly admires the way you’re so extroverted. And maybe sometimes has you talk to people for him if the social battery he’s got is too drained, but only if you’re okay with it! That’s another thing that he’s come to respect is the boundaries. You may be extroverted and slightly clingy, but you don’t push him and instead go at his pace. But when the roles are reversed and you aren’t up for being the social butterfly, he’s more than happy to help you out too.

I think he needs a hug. A big hug.
