“Sooo.. you’re telling me you think Alejandro is ticklish?” The look on Tyler’s face read as shocked and a little confused, running back what Noah had just said to him in his head. The latter had pulled the jock aside for a second to ‘talk’ while the rest of their team moved on ahead with their challenge.

“Why do you think so?” Tyler asks, tilting his head to the side as he watches Noah pace back and forth. It was clear the bookworm was planning something, but he couldn’t figure out what.

“Everyone has their weaknesses, Tyler, and I think I finally found that eel’s weak spot. Yesterday in first class Izzy was being.. well.. Izzy and was messing with Alejandro,” Noah starts, his pacing speeding up a little as he continues. “And she started poking him, and I could have sworn I saw him flinch a few times!” He stops dead in front of Tyler, clasping his hands together with a deranged look in his eyes.

“You sure this isn’t just you imaging things because he wrecks you any chance he gets?” Tyler watched as Noah’s face grew red, quickly waving off the other boys comment as he continues on his little rant. “No! No no no! Listen, dude, all I need you to do for me is test it out. He trusts you way more than he trusts me, he would suspect I was up to something from a mile away.” The himbo took a second to think about it, before giving Noah a thumbs up and a smile. “If it’ll get you to stop freakin’ out about it, then alright! Plus I’ve always wondered what his laugh sounds like!”

It was a few hours later and Tyler had finally managed to pull Alejandro aside for something, motioning for the rest of their team to continue towards the plane. He could have sworn the other boy looked a little irritated for a second, before turning to him with a relaxed expression.

“Ahh, mi amigo! What is the problem?” Alejandro asks, his tone light but his eyes peering directly into Tyler’s soul. This made him horribly anxious, he was bad at keeping secrets so it was a miracle he’d made it this far. “Oh um! While.. we were walking I just.. uh.. noticed you had a rip in your shirt! Yeah! I wasn’t gonna embarrass you in front of everyone, dude! It’s right here!”

The tracksuit wearing boy reached out and placed his hand right on Alejandro’s side, giving it a good few squeezes. Al flinched away from him and quickly clasped a hand over his mouth, glaring daggers at the other contestant. “Y-You could have just told me, there was no need to show me.” He hisses out, narrowing his eyes a little as a quite familiar expression crosses Tyler’s face. Alejandro’s blood ran cold as he realized what he just gave away, taking a step back and quickly trying to gauge a means of escape.

“Woooww Al!” No. “I didn’t know you were-“ Fuck! “-ticklish!” Tyler spoke with great amusement and wonder in his voice, taking a few steps closer to Alejandro before tackling him to the ground. They tossed and turned for a second before the jock managed to pin Alejandro down, a smug little smile plastered across his face. “Yknow, you could’ve just told me you weren’t ticklish and honestly, I might’ve believed you!”

“Get off of me-! Our team is way ahead of us and this is what you’re worried about-?” Alejandro growls as he tries to throw the other teen off of him, only to stop dead in his tracks as Tyler shoots his hands up to Alejandro’s ribs. He wasted no time scribbling across the clothed area. Alejandro inhales deeply through his nose, pursing his lips and clamping his arms down as he managed to force any reaction he would’ve had back. “T-Tyler, I think it would be intelligent for you to stop while you are ahead.”

“Noooo way, dude! Its like I’ve uh, struck gold or something! Im not letting this chance slip by me!” The other boy let out a triumphant sounding laugh as his hands traveled up under Al’s arms. Alejandro’s eyes widen a little as his struggles became a little more frantic, but that also meant he was becoming more and more uncoordinated. “H-Hey! Hey hey hey! What d-do you think you’r-“

Tyler raises an eyebrow as he digs in under his teammates arms, his eyes lighting up as he watched the brunette crumble. Alejandro turns his face away from Tyler as a steady stream of giggles started to break through, slowly building up until he was laughing his heart out. To say Tyler was shocked would be an understatement, really. He was expecting maybe a few giggles, but to hit the jackpot on Alejandro? Now that was legendary!

“Jackpot!” Tyler laughs out, working his fingers into the spot right in between Al’s ribs and armpits, his smile growing a little when that got a more intense reaction out of him. “Your laugh is like so cute! How’d you manage to keep this big of a secret to yourself?”

Alejandro had a feeling the other boy wasn’t trying to be teasy, but god was every word coming out of his mouth making him blush. “S-Sh-Shuhuhut uhuhuHUHUP-!” He cringed a little at how his sentence ended in a high note, absolutely avoiding any kind of eye contact with his fellow contestant.

Tyler tilts his head to the side, sneaking a hand up to scritch at Alejandro’s neck so he sorta had to turn back towards him. “Why? ‘M just sayin’ I think this is super cute! It like, humanizes you I guess! Cause if I’m gonna be honest, everyone sees you as uber untouchable. So I think it’s kinda funny that you have such a human weakness!” The jock explains, slowing his hands down to a stop. He moves off of Al, offering him a hand to help him up, which the other takes after a moment of recuperating.

Alejandro brushes himself off and adjusts his shirt a little, running a hand through his hair as he tried to cool off. He clears his throat and motions for Tyler to start walking with him, heading towards the plane. “Come on, I’m sure the others are wondering where we have been. If anyone asks, just say it was because you.. lost something. Oh, and by the way, if anyone finds out, I’ll know who to trace it back to.”

Tyler stood still for a moment out of fear at that last statement, but quickly follows after Alejandro. He wasn’t planning on telling anyone, well besides Noah, but that wouldn’t be a problem, right?

Written for Top Gun Ace Week! Day One - Micro labels (demisexuality) - "Promise me you'll wait for me" Maverick invites Iceman to spend their leave together in a cottage on the coast. Ice accepts, but isn't sure how to handle the fact that he's starting to develop romantic feelings about Maverick. He's never seen any indication that Maverick is interested in him beyond friendship. As they bond over seafood and grocery shopping, Ice finds his feelings growing.

Ice telling Mav about his boundaries, and Mav letting Ice come to him on his own terms is so very sweet and good. I love how the author portrays the care and understanding they have for each other!!

When aviators cause problems, they're designated apop, assigned missions designed to be deadly. Sometimes it's a strike mission, sometimes they're protecting other assets that the navy wants to be sure come home. Mav has been designated apop almost since the beginning. Ice is flying a mission that the navy deems worthy of protection.

Oh my GOD the worldbuilding and character dynamics in this slap so hard, I love the set up and how both Ice and Mav are written. The author places them in this sidestepped world so perfectly it feels like the fic is far longer than it really is. Such a treat!

They’re both twice as old now as they were when they started this, as both of their joints can certainly attest. But these aches make Ice’s willingness to kneel for him all the more humbling.

🫠 well what can I even say. The author GETS Ice, and writes Ice and Mav being so very in love with each other and giving each other what they need!!! The fact that they're older and experienced and still want each other and want to please each other makes the rest of this fic even better, which really is saying something considering how good it already is.

Maverick wonders if it's always going to be like this--this burning want under his skin, the total awareness his body seems to have of Ice. The surge of want that always seems to grip him, even at the most inappropriate of times. He wonders if he's ever going to be able to be around Ice and function like a human being. Thankfully, Ice seems to have the same problem as Maverick. Or--Five times Maverick and Ice have sex in places they totally weren't planning to.

I really enjoy the character dynamics in this, not only between Ice and Mav but the other people who they're interacting with as well. The last few chapters are especially good!

Saturn has such as way of putting Ice and Mav in situations that I utterly love - the writing is very good, and nails their characterisations perfectly!

Maverick’s never been good at saying. At the talking about things. He always prefers action to words. Carole laughed about it when he offered to fix up her junker of a pick up truck with fondness in her eyes, and Goose never mentions it at all. Just smiles at him whenever Mav brings home his favorite dinner, or lets Mav pick out the movie they watch for the night. Ice is somehow worse.

I love the banter here, between Ice and Mav but also when Goose and Slider make their appearances. The summer romance vibes here are immaculate honestly, the get together is just soooo perfect. Melting the iceman's heart indeed!!

To make matters worse, Maverick then shucks off his bomber jacket, throwing it over Ice’s shoulders and bringing it close to his chest. The inside of the jacket is toasty, and it smells like Mav. “Are you sure?” Is all Ice can say. Mav smiles up at him, the snow decorating his dark hair like glitter. “Of course. It looks good on you anyways.” He says, with an indecipherable wink. AKA, Ice and Mav get caught in a blizzard on their way to Slider's for Christmas. Ice tries to deal with his feelings for Mav while trying not to freeze to death.

After the Enterprise, they came home and took up their posts at Top Gun, this time as instructors, and didn’t speak of it again. They spent their days in the classroom or in the air, and their evenings side by side at the O Club or on one another’s couch. And then Viper introduced Tom to his daughter, Sarah, and she was kind and lovely with a spitfire attitude that reminded him of someone else. She took up his evenings, then – double dates with other officers and their girlfriends, and quiet nights in where she cooked him dinner and they talked for hours. He proposed to her after two months of dating, and she said yes. Now, six months later, she’s going to meet him at the end of the aisle.

The pining in this is so rich and layered, I love the way that Ice and Mav have to learn to circle around each other and decide what they really want in life before they reach out and take it.

now personally, i think as far as compelling romantic dynamics go from yj98 i think i lean more towards cissie and cassie (ALSO anitas big ass crush on cissie lmao) + kon and bart (aka kon’s big ass crush on bart) but i will say i still enjoy tim and kon’s friendship in it.

they’re so funny because they so obviously like each other. they’re best friends! or at least kon considers tim his best friend! but they’re so so so bad at showing it. they would gag excessively if they knew about the “you’re my robin…” scene. wdym you’re saying you like that guy??? just tape his favorite show while he’s in space on an insane mission??? simply beat up (or attempt to beat up) a guy on his behalf multiple times???

i dunno i just feel like kon’s viewpoint on the importance of trust and tim not telling the team his real identity is really interesting to explore. especially paralleled with adventure comics #3. the way tim so easily pulls down his cowl v.s. how it felt like pulllng teeth for him every time kon brought up secret identity issues. and mind you! a lot of that was match, but it still obviously really hurt him! especially with the entirety of what happens in owaw! (my beloved <3)

i cannot for the life of me think of the issue number but during sins of youth when kon and clark are switched and they talk about clark not bringing up his secret identity. and despite his chill demeanor, kon seems pretty hurt by it. he likes to know he’s trusted. it’s kind of the same thing with the legion in early sb94. i think his lack of secret identity initially also plays into this. like, he can talk about everything in his personal life because, well, his personal life and professional life are essentially the same thing. now cut to tim complaining about having to lie to his dad. and his friends (including young justice and even bruce). and his girlfriend(s).

their dynamic is obviously heavily impacted by where they are in their lives at that point and it’s so compelling to me specifically.

Can I have Siskarak fanfic recs, please? I've only read a few (can't remember too well at 3AM; one on the Defiant comes to mind), and I was surprised by how well the vibe worked!

Oh absolutely. 😈 Fair warning that I’m gonna rec a LOT of my own fics bc I’m shameless like that, but also because I’ve written like 25% of the Siskarak fics that exist. 😂 Of course in addition to my little ramblings, please check all the tags and summaries on these and just read the ones that speak to you! 💖 And now, in no particular order:

so, I lied, I cheated by me - My beloved siskarak novella!! 🥰 It’s an In the Pale Moonlight AU where Sisko and Garak fake an affair to explain why they are meeting together secretly all the time now, so that no one will realize it’s actually bc they’re conspiring to bring the Romulans into the war. It’s a VERY cracky premise, and I then treat the implications of that premise with the utmost severity haha. It’s a big clusterfuck of them making each other worse and ruining each other’s lives but I did aim for a hopeful ending for them and for their healthier relationships (siskasidy and garashir). I’m so proud of it, I have some planted some insane character insights into there that I truly can’t figure out other simpler ways to express/convince people of than by writing them into a complicated angsty porny ITPM-but-way-worse fic.

And Scene by Flazéda (peternurphy) - Obsessed with this one. Sisko and Garak have to go undercover at a sex club, and I am just such a sucked for fake relationship scenarios. I’m also never not thinking about the moment in this fic where Sisko muses internally on how spanking Garak’s ass with a paddle is satisfying in the same way as swinging a baseball bat.

Moonlight Still Casts Shadows by Warpcorps @spocksbeanies - This one is SO HOT. It’s post-ITPM and Sisko is continuing to compromise his morals in delicious, sexy ways to accomplish his goals. 😈 (He’s having sex with Garak to keep him happy and working for him.)

Decadence: In His Service by JA Chapman is soooo good and sooo insane and I want to read approximately 10k more words about the messy, messy scenario described. Siskarak is only a secondary ship, the main one shown is Sloan/Sisko. I don’t particularly buy into it as realistic, but this fic ask all kinds of questions and offers NO answers, and I am driven insane by it every day, I do still recommend. XD

Exaltation by @hellostuffedtiger is another good one involving Sloan and it is much closer to canon than the above hahaha. Sisko and Garak have casual sex, then discuss S31 and Sloan and how to protect Bashir.

going up, going down by me - Crackfic to the max, haha! Garak gives Sisko a blowjob in the turbolift and they get caught.

Plausible Deniability by katiemariie is really interesting and reading it helped kick off my interest in the ship! I do have some small quibbles with it bc I don’t really buy that Garak isn’t interested in Bashir or that Siskarak could actually become a sustainable romantic ship, but oh man other than that the dynamic is great here!

Captain’s Whore by @the-last-dillpickle - Garak pettily making sure everyone knows he’s Sisko’s mistress is just so fun and delightful 😂

I have like a hundred playlists for these freaks and they’re all have a thousand songs in them that VAGUELY remind me of them, so, I’ll give you my top 5 :)

1.

This song is THE QUINTESSENTIAL Rika song, 100%, no doubt. Rika’s jealousy and envy of V’s “light” compared to her “darkness” is at the heart of what killed their relationship and plays a huge role in the creation of the mint eye. V certainly isn’t nowhere near as vain as Julius Caesar, but Rika couldn’t fit the role of Brutus here any better than she already does🥺🥺🥺.

“That the people would see me too as a poet, and not just the muse” is such a good line for rika’s thoughts and feelings on their relationship augh, she sees v’s ability to love her, to “save” her, and constantly compares it to her hatred of everyone in her past who mistreated and abused her, and wonders “why can’t I have the ability to love others? why am I in agony even now in this relationship? why can’t I be the savior and not just v’s muse?”

Totally encapsulates Rika’s slow mental decline as V keeps enabling her, it stoked her “devil” and it starts to create a vicious cycle of “heap on the love, get jealous of v’s light, become resentful and aggressive as an unhealthy coping mechanism, “test v’s love” (hurt him), remorse, hate herself, resolve to be “cured” by the light, repeat”. She has no idea what romantic love actually looks like, so she gets it confused with obsessive hatred.

“I don’t want what you have, I want to be you” it’s such a good line, it’s Rika 100%,,,,, augh 🥺🥺🥺

This song makes me froth at the mouth soooo bad thinking about V/MC affair hijinks (I’m delusional), but I think the general vibe fits with Rika feeling scorned and cheated at the end of V route. Like instead of fabricating a woman up, she lured MC to mint eye which set up the events that led V and MC to fall in love (kinda), smh she set herself up 😒

Casual/Deep story V vibes at their finest,,,,, imagining V wandering alone through his old, and frighteningly chilly, house, the one he built with Rika to be the foundation for their new happy life,,,, trying to remember her face after finally losing his vision completely and having spent so long apart from her,,, while questioning the nature of their relationship for it to end like this,,,, calling out her name in hope she’ll come back and the past 2 years will have been a dream,,,,, hell yeagh (hooked up 2 life support)

All of kikuo’s songs remind me of mint eye, but hole dwelling is Rika/MC vibes 100%.(could also be ray tbh BUT THIS AINT ABOUT HIM ‼️) Rika tries to convince MC to stay with her by appealing to the hurt, scared, and confused childlike side of her similar to the way the song does. “The outside world just wants to hurt people like us anyway, but don’t worry, I’m always here for you, I understand you. There’s no need to change, it’s uncomfortable and scary, just stay in this place I built for you and me.” MC fuckin HATES this shit, but being in a place like mint eye wears down on you, so mc will occasionally (and very begrudgingly) lean on Rika for support. It’s very sweet (delusional).

Ok this oldie sticks out jahshj (I’m a fnv freakazoid) but it’s totally MC singing about V 🥹💕. I wouldn’t say it was “love at first sight”,,,,, but it was totally “attraction at first sight” lmao (big difference). Their attraction was really quick to spark, they had a lot of things in common and similar views (not so much in other things LOL) like their love for art in all forms, their introverted nature, their mutual appreciation for all things romantic (aka, their both in love with falling in love), and their similar martyr complex lolololol. MC singing this while spending a sleepless night tending to a sickly drugged V, while lamenting her newfound budding feelings for him,,,(cephy stop obsessing over romance as a tragedy challenge: impossible)

Some honorable mentions

(^^^ V would never describe his relationship with Rika so cruelly, EVER,,,,, but the vibe of love performed as art for others instead of something to build with someone you care about,,, it’s immaculate)

11. AFFECTION

Their dynamic can be confusing, but don’t worry, you can’t possibly be more confused than they are, and they’re IN IT lol. Generally their dynamic is, the “ring leader” (Rika) and her two adoring affectionate “lovers” (V and MC) (more like playthings tbh). They have a whole web of dynamics though, ray made a chart to keep track of it all so when inevitably Rika has a meltdown over a perceived slight and needs him to vent to, he can keep track of what’s what (kinda)(poor guy).

Rika/MC affection: USUALLY MC does NOT want anything to do with Rika,,, but V can be super suffocating,,,, and Rika is extremely persistent with getting MC’s attention, and the line between hate and love can be extremely thin (especially in their case). MC tends to relent when rika’s upset though, she doesn’t like seeing her cry (she tries to convince herself lol) and will comfort Rika when she does. MC generally follows Rika’s led in moments like this (overstepping her bounds, even accidentally, is a recipe for disaster). Rika knows this, and will take full advantage, cue 7 hour cuddling session that takes up MC’s whole day, even if she had something planned with V 🤭🤭🤭 Rika is also wayyyy more happily (and sexually) affectionate with MC than with V lol (cause she’s closeted lesbian- wHO SAID THAT) Mutual biting, but the one biting is usually Rika.

V/MC affection: my sweet lovers,,,,, they are much too sweet to each other considering the circumstances,,, V (despite his relationship with Rika) has never felt so genuinely attracted to another person before, it’s always been a conscious choice he’s made for the sake of his art, his love, his obsession, his guilt, his light. So when his feelings for MC spring up outta nowhere, he has a kinda catholic reaction to them ahdghshgd. “Good heavens, what is this feeling??? For a woman I met a week ago, no less….. What a sad excuse for a man I am, how could I love anyone else besides Rika….i should stop…(proceeds to call MC for the 50th time that day just to hear her voice)” and MC,,,, MC has never had a more embarrassing crush on a guy, ever HEHEHE she doesn’t know how to cope with his flustering when she reaches for his hand, his old timey romantic gestures (getting her flowers and walking with her on the side farthest from the road)(throwing his coat on a puddle for her to walk on HSHSDJ). He can be a lil too much at times, (which sometimes frustrates her, she feels smothered at times, and it’s her first relationship (good lord) and she’s not a well adjusted person either) but they both have this really cute, almost innocent, puppy love thing going on, it’s cute 🥰, it’s also the only kind of real affection v gets lol (poor guy). MC has a bad case of “cute-aggression” that gets exasperated by V’s smothering, so it’s usually her giving out the bites hjajhd V takes anything she gives him, he’s so touch starved. Rika usually butts in on their time together, but more on that later.

V/Rika affection(or lack thereof) : these two,,,, the apocalyptic disaster couple themselves,,,,, well for starters Rika keeps him at a looooong distance, in most cases. The reason (at least she believes) they broke up in the first place is because rika’s devil was being burned by V’s love, BUT she admits herself that she “needs” v’s light to fuel her darkness. V also feels an obligation to shine his light on her, the initial obsession and intrigue long dead by now, but he still genuinely cares about Rika’s wellbeing, very much so. They “love” and “need” each other like a sick person needs their meds, but the sick person doesn’t feel affectionate towards their medication, right? No real heart-warming connection towards their pill bottle, it’s just something they need to live. In fact, wouldn’t they feel resentful of their medicine?? Having to constantly depend on it for survival, all the while dealing with side effects when they would rather do anything else?? Yeah that’s their relationship lol,,,,,(somebody get a therapist on speed dial) There’s Biting here too, but it’s all Rika, and not at all playful as her bites with MC, and her bites are nowhere near as passionate like the ones MC gives him.

111. JEALOUSY AND INSECURITY

Oooh lord 😭😭😭 Rika’s practically made of it, V unfortunately enables it, and MC cannot stomach it (except when she gets jealous too). Most of their fights (that practically rival ancient Chinese civil wars in casualties) stem from someone (usually Rika, never V) feeling jealous or insecure. It’s a miracle this poly trio even happened. It’s a complete scientific mystery as to how the poly trio is still going.

Rika’s jealousy and insecurity: I could write a detailed analysis on rika’s insecurity that would rival the Lord of the Rings in length and it still wouldn’t convey just how bad she’s got it, so I’ll try and give the cliff notes instead. She feels she “needs” to be loved in order to be validated as a living being, worthy of living happily. So when she feels “left out” (not the center of attention for 2 seconds) she spirals, thinking she’s being left alone just like so many times before in childhood, just like a defective doll her adopted parents didn’t want, and that maybe they were right, she couldn’t possibly deserve love. Panicking, she usually interrupts whatever V and MC have going on, and insists on reassurance of their love for her, and if she feels she’s being slighted, she’ll fly into a rage, handing out punishments and tests of love, but you can tell she’s biased cause MC’s “punishment” is being confined to Rika’s comfy bedroom for a week and V’s punishment is being locked in the dungeon for 3 weeks 😭😭😭😒😒😒 Usually best case scenario is

V/MC enjoying a moment together alone cuddling

Rika immediately being alerted via her sixth sense

Rika barging in like “make room bitches”

Rika settling smack dab between them lol

MC’s jealous and insecurity: She HATES Rika’s jealous fits so fuckin much lmaoooo 🤭. She convinces herself she would never get jealous ever…… which is an outright LIE it just manifests differently and less often. She hates V’s tendency to distance himself from her to appease Rika, it makes her insecurity flare badly, cue her starting a spat with Rika, and hoping V will take her side. It’s stupid, petty, and downright goofy behavior honestly, but it’s her first relationship (good lord) and she’s got the worst fucking partners ever 🫠🫠🫠 how else is a sheltered neurodivergent girl in her early 20s to cope.

V’s (non existent) jealousy and insecurity: As you have correctly guessed,,,,,, V is definitely not a jealous man HJDDSJSJSF 😂😂😂😂 He is weirdly secure in the relationship, due to Rika’s dependence on his “light” and though his relationship with MC is very new, he feels the tight bond (trauma bond lol) they have and doesn’t worry about whether or not she’ll leave him, also due in part to the fact he doesn’t worry about them not returning his affections, he’s more worried about whether or not he deserves to love or be loved in the first place. If he found out one of them saw someone else outside the trio, he wouldn’t be upset besides somehow twisting the event into somehow being his fault like “if my light was strong enough they wouldn’t have had to go somewhere else for it, was I neglecting them??? 😢😢😢”(poor guy) This trait of his tends to set the other two off, as they mistake his laidback “I’m cool with everything” security as aloofness, and spiral into their insecurity 😑😑😑 it also has the hilarious (debatable) effect of usually ending spats between Rika and MC.

1. Dorlene

Yeah obviously I’m basic as shit but I love them soooo much. And they’re is so much potential within them. Like we have the classic enemies to lovers, but we also have the adorable friends to lovers. And there is soo much angst potential with Marlene dying at the hands of Voldemort, and we love the good old avenge your dead lover trope. And Dorcas would deliver!!! Like just the pure intensity of their relationship will actually send me into a coma

2. Pandalily

Firstly, they are ADORABLE like they are such a cute pairing, but more than that they are both so smart like academic rivals to lovers anyone. Like Pandora with her experiments and Lily quite literally being the Brightest Witch of Her Year. Like imagine them on cute little study dates. Or the fact that they are both so smart and cool. Like everyone would be in love with lily and Pandora is causing everyone to question their sexuality

3. Nobleflower

Give the older girls some love. Like they’re so sweet and cute. But then the ANGST the BETRAYAL. Narcissa marrying Lucius malfoy and Bellatrix being the reason that Alice lost her mind. Like can you imagine Narcissa coming to see Alice in hospital but Alice having no memories of the two, Narcissa being the one forced to carry all the memories of their relationship. Or even worse, Alice remembering Narcissa and being confused whenever Narcissa would leave her or never come to visit. Like I’m in actual tears but I love them

4. Killerquill (or Quillkiller idk)

Look a bit awkward that they’re right after Narcissa and Alice but that’s ok. These two are my fav grey coded characters like awww look at them committing war crimes I love them. But these two in a relationship is quite literally such a whirlwind. Like both of them are so cool and interesting on their own. And together thye have so much potential for just evil and I love that like there is no angst in this one because they both are just ok with committing terrible acts together. These two are demons and I love that for them, like let girls be evil and let them have fun doing it.

5. Emmary

Last, but not least we have emmary, the two sweetest nicest girls on the planet. Like their love story is just sooo romantic and could be so powerful when it comes to discussions of survival guilt and how to move on from traumatic events. Because don’t forget both Mary and Emmeline SURVIVE the first war. Like I would kill to read a fic that just explores the relationship dynamic pre and post first wizard war. Because we have both the cute, sweet innocence of teen love, but then mixed with the trauma of surviving a war and losing many of their friends. And then the ANGST that is the death of Emmeline during the second war and how Mary copes with the loss of one of the last people who attached her to the wizarding world.

Big Post of some of my bushmedicine headcanons... hehee... my personal thoughts on medic and sniper as a couple, my favorite dynamics, etc!

starting it off by saying that i think this ship works best when its post-comics. i like the idea of the two of them Knowing each other as teammates (but not really Friends), and then sniper's revival being the Strange Insane Catalyst that.. "brings them together".

that said i don't think medic loves sniper Solely because he's his greatest achievement; him Defying Modern Medicine for sniper (of all people) was definitely Not something either of them expected! medic has always held appreciation for sniper as a teammate and respects his craft

but didn't really come to appreciate him as a Person until after the gray mann stuff. because they’re both workaholics it was hard for them to really ‘get to know’ each other. both value the other as teammates but simply never thought of getting any closer. 

i think it would take Effort on both of their parts to “get the ball rolling” in terms of talking to one another a bit more personally. they’re socially very different after all! but i think they'd both be Pleasantly Surprised that they find each other very Easy to be around!

and, no, i do not think sniper is “afraid” of medic or what he does. sniper’s been around gore and death for as long as he’s been alive and willingly volunteered to get the uber implant! i think it would be more likely that he’d ask medic to give him gills or claws before he’d be running away screaming in fear lol. but that’s just me!

love to think of them both as Weird Only Children but on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. sniper is shut in and felt Both smothered And abandoned by his parents. medic is Just A Hellion and always has been. doesn't feel one Dramatic way or another for/about his parents and that's that! i think medic loves/d his family but just thought it was like... Funny that they ever tried to Contain him! medic is Sympathetic sniper's complicated family issues but can't Relate. his family was Very Direct, just like him! LOL

they have very different energy, but i don’t see that as a flaw or a bad thing, nor do i see either of them seeking to change the other. sniper likes that medic loves to babble and medic likes that sniper is quiet and likes to listen!

at first i think both of them would struggle to read one another, since they are So different! but medic and sniper love to learn things, especially(/sometimes Only) if they’re interested in the person they’re learning from! 

part of what makes this ship so charming to me is that they aren’t like. love at first sight, or second sight, or third sight… they’re two people that Saw A Spark in each other and work at their relationship! it makes them feel very Real to me!

medic knows sniper’s body really.. intimately. before they started dating he knew it of course as the team’s doctor, but when they got together… it’s like exploring something that’s been right in front of you the whole time… for the first time… 

which excites medic because i think he’d be like “hooh! all of this in front of me this whole time and i didn’t even think to-!” and he leans down and kisses sniper’s scars which makes sniper soooo……………………ummm………………h*rny………. i mean……………….. Silly!

that said i think they also have had Aesthetic Appreciation for one another and/or would be like “yeah i’d absolutely **** him if i got the chance but i’ll just leave it at a fantasy” but as far as wanting to Date or Become More… that’s super new for both of them…

sniper hates/fears commitment and medic just never really enjoyed the idea of Entertaining any Romantic Connections long-term (work comes first for both of them!) but once medic is invested he’s like “if you don’t ask me out by letting me take a nap in your ribcage then forget it”… he loves the Passion!! he wants to know his partner is just as Devoted to him as he is to him!! and sniper is Very Passionate and has a lot of love to Give! once you get him to confess that hehe… but i think medic enjoys “the chase” and thinks of it like a fun game!! he likes that it's Only Him that elicits Those Feelings/Reactions in sniper... it makes him feel Special!

imo they’re the perfect delicious physical manifestation of their work (sniper is medic’s greatest achievement! and medic saved his life!).. so they’re both just woven into so many different parts of them that when they Finally come together they’re just… One… 

i don’t think sniper is/was traumatized by his death. i think he’s someone who knew/accepted death and that it could come for him at any time, so he’s never been afraid of dying. but i don’t think anyone could be prepared for being Revived… 

and i think sniper is always saddled with Complicated Feelings of Being Worthy of/Deserving Things. he was raised to live humbly and appreciate what he had, so anything “extravagant” (by his standards) being done for him always leaves him kind of Perplexed. feels like he has to Earn something to Deserve it, even when it comes to feeling things. “i can’t feel bad/mad/sad/glad/etc if i don’t have a Reason”. feelings should be put into categories and Understood for him. he’s very “in his head” about every single little thing! which is why he clings to the Ideal of “professionalism”!

whereas medic very freely feels and says and does whatever the fuck he wants because thats how He was raised. he doesn’t think he should smother himself for anyone for any reason and if you imply that he should he’ll knock you in the mouth LOL. 

“aren’t you tired of being professional? don’t you want to go apenshitten?” medic trying to encourage sniper to have Fun and Live A Little! and sniper can’t really resist medic’s charisma and Charm… hehee… its fun to think about sniper being wrapped up in being Professional and medic being like “we’re being professional, we’re Doing our Professions! who says we can’t also have FUN with it!” (medic is being Sadistic about it whereas thats Against sniper’s Beliefs) and that makes sniper laugh and shake his head and smile…

i believe that sniper is the more emotionally-immature one. not in touch with his feelings whatsoever and is more prone to “breaking down” (usually isolating but sometimes Lashing Out). medic is impulsive but has great self control (Only when he wants to!) and is Very in touch with his own feelings at all times.

sniper sees his job as A Job. a Duty a Task Things He Is Contractually Obligated to do. but medic sees it as a total wildcard playing field where he's constantly testing the limits to see what he can get away with, what he can do and how much fun he can have!

at first sniper is taken aback/a bit overwhelmed by medic’s In Your Face demeanor but comes to really love it. he likes that medic doesn’t mince words or play mind games (when it really counts, anyway) and he can rely on the doctor to mean what he says when he says it. he hates having to “decode” people!

medic typically doesn’t bother with trying to “decode” people, but he’s patient with sniper and his lack of communication know-how/willingness. sometimes sniper can be very stubborn! but medic just giggles and sits with him and is like “i could sit here all day! >:) so take all the time you need!” and sniper’s never had anyone Actually Willing to Sit Here All Day for him so medic’s love for “a challenge” becomes something really endearing to him… and he doesn’t feel like a Burden or a Challenge to his doctor…!

petnames!! if you’ve read my fics you already know of sniper calling medic dovey, and medic calling sniper spatz/spatzchen, which means “sparrow”, because house sparrow face markings remind medic of sniper’s sideburns! i also love the idea of sniper calling medic his plover and medic calling sniper his krokodil, like the symbiotic relationship of the bird that hangs out in the mouth of crocodiles! 

sniper also calls medic pidge/pigeon, or nurse too! if they’re alone, sniper will pepper in a “-darling, -sweetness, etc” after the petname of choice! medic loves cooing at sniper and really laying the petnames on thick, and while sniper still isn’t As Bold as medic in public, in private he loves smothering medic right back! hehe

“you gonna behave yourself out there today?” <- sniper says things like this before they Fight and it makes medic giggle and shake his head and be like “ABSOLUTELY NOT! >:)” and sniper chuckles and is like “mhmm… ://)”.. sniper also calls medic Death or RED Death, whispering it low in his ear before they go into combat… and it makes medic shoot through the roof with heart eyes like in loony tunes….  his mind is NOT on medicine for the rest of the match! hehe!

medic knows sniper doesn’t like drawing attention to himself in public, so he does his best to be respectful of that. they both like keeping things Professional in combat, but sometimes medic will scoop sniper up clean off his feet and spin around before putting him down with a shrill laugh if he just had a particularly exciting kill. sniper loves medic’s excited outbursts of energy and it always leaves him wobbly-legged and breathless!

sniper’s friends (demo, engie, scout) love breaking sniper’s balls about dating/being in love. they’ll tease the crap out of him and make him light up red with fluster because ha ha! Stoic Professional Turned Loverboy! medic’s friends (spy, heavy, pyro) have much more insightful talks about their relationship and give medic advice (or listen to medic gush about how cute he thinks sniper is)!

both bond over medicine… obviously! sniper is a survivalist and therefore extremely resourceful and medic eats up all of his advice and wisdom! he also loves listening to sniper talk about his days as a hunter before he came to mann co. the one where he slept in the corpse of a water buffalo is medic’s favorite! 

they also love talking about exotic animals (medic is very curious and sniper is very knowledgeable), jazz/classical music, botany and nonfiction literature! they’re not Literary Buffs like spy and heavy, but they enjoy learning new things and like to read things they can put down and pick up again a week later.

they’re both very touchy-feely! in public they’re a bit more reserved but sniper will still hook his finger in one of medic’s belt straps and pull him close to him, or medic will slip his hand into sniper’s back pocket (and squeeze his butt just to fluster him! hoo!) 

sniper is absolutely the earlier riser and is very Routine Based. medic makes his own schedule and if you don’t like it you can ***. if he knows medic had a late night, he’ll go and feed his doves and put a pot of coffee on for him and leave a shirt of his next to him in bed so medic can wake up smelling him!

they love cooking for/sharing food with each other; often nothing too fancy, but something as simple as peeling an orange and sharing it is as intimate as a kiss… they’re both guilty of getting too wrapped up in their work to remember to eat, so one will often remember when the other doesn’t! plus, eating together accomplishes two things: spending time together and eating, so they both enjoy the Double Productivity of it!

i do not think sniper stinks like pee or keeps jarate in his van and i’ve talked about that in the thread i made for him specifically BUT anyway. i think they’re both Very Hygienic people who also love getting their hands dirty. they love a good sweat session on the field (or.. alone… elsewhere… hehee <3) and love the Smell of each other. 

they love being silly! medic tends to bring this out in sniper and he might have thought it was originally Cringe but medic has shown him how to be silly and fun-loving and full of whimsy! they play chase (medic will pinch sniper’s butt and take off running and howling with laughter and sniper will snicker and Eagerly Pursue) and hide and seek, which is their favorite… medic loves seeing sniper in action and showing off his skills that aren’t Just sniping! tracking, Hunting… and of course, he loves being the thing he’s Hunting >:)! its a very fun flirtatious game for them! 

another merc being like “where’s sniper?” medic giggling and being like “hoo! <v< hoh! >v> i don’t know!! isn’t that exciting!! ehee hee! ^v^” and the other mercs being like :|? KSDKFDSF.. i think they’re very Weird and Cringe and Free as a couple and while the other mercs might not Get Them they are happy for their friends :)

sniper is very quiet and medic is often easy to sneak up on (sniper likes to do so >:)) and when medic tries sneaking up on sniper (he is not as good at it….) sometimes sniper will be like “aht aht. heard you comin’ five miles away!” or he’ll be like “GASP!! awh you got me. you sneaky thing!” just because he likes to see his pretty dovey win ://)

sniper's "gotta make a necklace outta your teeth" line. medic hears him say it on the field and is like "wait. do you really do that?" and sniper's like “y’wanna find out?" and medic's like ">//u//< JA!" sniper surprises him with a necklace of human teeth... fit for a king <3

we know medic is Weird but i also like to imagine sniper being Weird too. he and medic are putting their hands in the dirt finding worms bugs snakes etc.. sniper giving medic bird heart pendants and snake venom etc etc.. medic's like "ohh hee hee! we are married now i think! ^v^"

LMFAO Agohiru from ES21 😂 I remember when I first got into es21 back in highschool, Hiruma was my fav, but I didn't think much of Agon other than 'wow what an asshole!' and didn't like him. (Also I was a big Hirumamo shipper at the time, and I'm the type who clings onto One Ship for a character and isn't too interested in anything else lol) It wasn't until I got back into it in the last couple of years that I've come to appreciate how much fun it is to bat that asshole around, and just how loaded Hiruma and Agon's ~history~ is.

Though I guess no one person specifically changed my mind, unless you count past me vs present me lol. OH actually, what changed my mind was the fic "Independent Variable" on ff.net. I think I got back into es21 and was like 'you know, hiruma/agon totally has potential' and so was looking up fics of that pairing, and then I read that fic and was lost.

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.

Hmmmm oh, Merther (Merlin/Arthur) lol. Their set up as a ship is extremely juicy (two sides of the same coin?? fate ties them together??? conflict because their initial world views are diametrically opposed????) and there's soooo much fic for them, but. I just. I don't like Arthur 😭 Like, I mean, he's FINE. But the writing of the whole show is so inconsistent and there's entire seasons where he's just so shitty to Merlin for no damn reason in a way that I'm supposed to take as funny and silly which pisses me off more.

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)

I mean, most shows that have mainstream popularity that I never checked out lol, though I think one that I've seen a lot of shipping art for on my dash is Star Wars? I've seen the main movies, but I think this is from.... Clone Wars, or the Obi-wan show or something. I see a lot of Obi-wan shipped with... one of the clone guys I think lmfao.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves.

Hmmmm this isn't even a character I dislike, but whatever-- Judeau! I like him a lot tbh but I also find him shady 😂

I like how his 'friend who gives good advice and just has your best interests at heart' vibe is subverted by his personal biases and emotions, even if he'd probably deny that lol. He's flawed and it colors the advice he gives, and he even has moments that I'd argue are kind of judgy. It's what makes him interesting!

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? 

Yes! Main one coming to mind rn because I've been thinking about Hiruma (ES21) a lot, is that Hiruma is on the ace spectrum! I'm usually pretty take-it-or-leave-it when it comes to sexuality headcanons, like I can buy most interpretations but I generally don't feel strongly about them, but with Hiruma I really struggle to see him as anything else.

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

OOHHHH. Well in Berserk, it's legit a tie between Guts and Griffith. I wouldn't like either one of them as much without the other in their orbit, and Berserk is one of those rare stories where both characters are really complex and compelling in their own way, and bring a lot of significant baggage into their dynamic lmfao. With Guts I love how sensitive he is, and the various ways in which he subverts and deconstructs the Macho Male Power Fantasy™ archetype, how at the end of the day he just wants someone to care about him and find worth in his existence. With Griffith, I love his ideals and his fragility in the face of the sacrifices those ideals demand from him, I love how much he cares and how much he gouges himself for caring, and how all of his stress and guilt and obligation still aren't any match for his love for Guts. And with both of them, I love how their upbringing informs their decisions so well to ruin everything even though they care about each other so much :')

w/ ES21, it's Hiruma lol which might be basic because he's everyone's fav, but for good reason! He's just fucking fun! I love how unhinged and demonic he is, I love the borderline slapstick loony-tunes tyle antics he gets up to, and I love his shamelessness. But I also love how accepting and realistic he is about his limitations, and how that doesn't stop him from striving for the top and going for what he wants. And like, for such an anime-level strategic genius type character, I love that such a core part of what makes him great is that he brings people together and uses teamwork and creativity to overcome everyone's various limitations. He's just-- so much fun!

And because this list is depressingly male lemme throw in a wild card-- Chase from Midnight Furies! It's a webcomic that I recently read for the first time, and Chase is the deuteragonist and a Hiruma expy lol. Which you can definitely tell, they both have the unhinged vibe and shark teeth, as well as the mysterious past and having a lot of cards up their sleeve, but I also think they're quite distinct. Obviously, Chase is a butch lesbian (which really does just add to her cool factor), but also I feel like Midnight Furies is a more grounded story compared to ES21, despite there being supernatural elements lol, and so Chase feels more grounded and realistic as a character. She's a bit more raw in her relationships to other people, and she shows vulnerability more, but she's also much more of a direct physical threat than Hiruma is. Because of that, she has moments where calculation gets thrown out the window in favor of a good ol' beat down, which of COURSE I love to see. And I think she has the capacity to be more ruthless. ANYWAY, awesome character, A+++ (please read Midnight Furies)

twd series finale spoilers

ok for the first 45 minutes i was getting worried because all the action was happening and i was questioning how will they wrap everything up?? it felt a bit fast paced for those 45 minutes, but i think i only felt that way because i knew this was the end.

once all the action was over and the scenes became more sentimental, that’s when i felt relief that okay i think this is actually going to be a good finale

rosita’s death had me bawling my eyes out 😭😭 i saw a spoiler, so i knew she was going to die, but regardless it made me sob and the way they filmed her last moments was just heart-wrenching

the scene of luke’s death where kelly, connie, magna, and yumiko were all together crying also made me cry a lot. the acting was amazing in that scene

idk i personally think they should’ve killed pamela, but i guess they wanted to put her in jail to show they’re making a pivot in the way they do things and aren’t going to just constantly kill everyone

i love that ezekiel became governor and that mercer became lieutenant governor!!

yumiko and magna getting back together is something that is very important to me!! love a win for the gays <3

daryl and carol telling each other that they love one another was so <3 <3 i love their friendship and watching the journey of their characters over the past 11 seasons has been such a delight. i’m not someone who was rooting for them to start dating (not that i would’ve cared if they did date!) but i just always saw them as really good friends and family than romantic partners, so for me i loved their ending. i do just wish daryl didn’t run off alone because i wish he would finally just settle in one place and be with his family instead of always on the go, but i understand for the spin-off they needed him to leave

the tribute of all the characters who have passed made my heart heavy. so many characters i loved passed away in this show, but that’s the reality of life. the ones we love will die and we will have to try to find a way to move on without them

daryl saying “we ain’t the walking dead” was kind of corny to me lol. sometimes the title of a show or movie being included in the dialogue works, but sometimes it doesn’t and this was one of those moments where i don’t think it was necessary for the title to be said in the show lol

RICK AND MICHONNE!!!!!! my favs are finally coming back to me! seeing them made me smile soooo much. i’m so fucking excited for this spin-off and to see where rick has been all these years

the conversations between negan and maggie in s11 have been really intriguing to me. this final convo between them was touching because all i have ever wanted is for maggie to be okay and knowing that she is in a place where yes, she’ll never forgive negan, but she can begin her journey to coexist with the grief and heal makes me happy for her. i am also very excited to see what their spin-off is going to entail as their dynamic is very interesting and they set up their relationship very nicely to make you want to tune in into their spin-off

overall, it was a good finale. i won’t say it’s exceptional or anything, but i enjoyed it and it did what it needed to do. it had its last battle, people died, people mended relationships, people were saved, the show ended with showing the progress that’s been made in their communities and that life goes on. it felt like a real-life ending about civilization experiencing a zombie apocalypse. it was years and years of experiencing grief, death, loneliness, greed, war, corruption, starvation, fear, hard-work, survival, and love in such a damaged, chaotic world which all eventually led to finding a way to actually being able to create a world filled with civility, stability, and democracy.

Mina/Jonathan, Mina/Dracula, Jonathan/Dracula

Mina/Jonathan:

Basically I think they’re really cute! That line about Jonathan not letting Mina go into that unknown and terrible land (of being a vampire) alone is SO romantic! I’m also really intrigued by fucked up scenarios where one or the other has been turned into a vampire and there are Moral Quandaries. But otherwise they just don’t particularly interest me. It’s sweet, I don’t hate it, good for them, etc. I think at the end of the day I just tend to prefer ships for conflict.

Mina/Dracula:

On the one hand, it’s simply not a thing in the book? And I fully understand why book fans are annoyed with Mina being assigned a romance with Dracula just because she is the main female lead and because he preys on her. Which can have. weird. connotations.

And to an extent I feel that way too! But simultaneously the connotations are interesting. Vampires, and Dracula particularly, are very compelling to me because of how well they can be positioned in the crosshairs of predatory and romantic. Dracula-the-story is explicitly about Dracula as a force of horror, preying on the protagonists. Any romantic feelings or ship dynamics are going to have to be in relation to and navigating that. If you take book canon Mina being preyed on by Dracula, and then add the complications and quandaries of there being any sort of romantic angle— idk that’s just so much scarier and therefore more interesting to me!

The reincarnated bride stuff in 1992 was not well done. But I’m still forever intrigued by the questions it raised for Mina’s identity and agency, though I don’t think it was ever fully aware of them either. But like who is Mina, really, if her thoughts and feelings are being overridden by this past life? Does that past love matter more than the current relationships she’s fostered? Her current values are clearly at odds with all the murdering her long lost love is doing! What now! I’m generally just very interested in reincarnation tropes from an introspective or deconstructive angle, and the 1992 film never engages with any of this, but its set up makes me kind of insane.

Jonathan/Dracula:

Likely my main ship in the novel! The segment at Dracula’s castle is just SO interesting and so charged. There’s simultaneously a strong comedy and shenanigans factor, ie Dracula doing all his housework, and generally just being fucking weird, but there’s also The Horrors.

Jonathan is basically living out a Bluebeard/Beauty and the Beast type narrative. It’s genuinely incredibly chilling, and well done. The moments that can be read as romantic just make things sadder and more terrifying. And that appeals to me for pretty similar reasons to Mina/Dracula. But it’s just up close and personal in a very particular way.

The way Jonathan simultaneously has to depend on him for protection from the brides. Or just to remember to feed him! That he’s a frail human that needs things in order to live! And how that is (presumably) more of a concern as Dracula becomes more interested in leaving for England is soooo fucked up!

Who was your first ever OC? Do you still “use” them? How have they evolved over time?

Arilla Raikari - my self-rep, “self-insert” (sort of). She’s my namesake/icon most places online. But when I originally invented the chara it was like. . . online self-larping in a chatroom. Ranieh (who is Arameis in SWTOR) was more of a “this is a /character/” OC who came soon after that.

I have not retired the RPing of him like I did with Arilla. She exists in the form of a story w/ all my own characters.

Who is your newest OC? Why did you make them?

ah Oh No. . . . the other day I invented a character for a SWTOR fic (that will never appear here). That hardly counts -- but I did name him. . . Well, /professionally/ his name’s Sivega Syrex. His identity is ‘Sexy Nautolan’ (& his profession is. . . essentially the same).

Usually no. Like--I wouldn’t call them my OC. . . If there’s an almost-character with a design & a name, they might be picked up & put into stories sometime. . . That’s when they reach character status. (Of course I do have some that have very /un-detailed/ stories, b/c story is hard.)

huehehehh. Soooo many. . Most of all it’s a combo of me & Dani’s OCs. The Villain Siths & their ENTIRE network of family/apprentices/nemesises/etc. Kallir&Keran shipping (waahhhh the boyfs). The Bounty Hunter Gang. Smuggler Squad. ~ their weird found families (that I want to see meet up and fight but in a fun way). Every relationship of my OCs to my friends charas. RP / hashing out chara stuff is so good. (Mheera--not my OC-- & Kallir. . . the AU where they are unhealthy Best Friends is a gr8 platonic one. Also with Vensys in there to make it extra codependent. . . Love that.)

Oldschool w/ my original classic OCs, one of the most essential & ~enriching~ relationship dynamics is Evil Wizard TD and his son who he tries to raise to be Evil. (Lukar KINDA doesn’t want to be evil, and /definitely/ doesn’t want to be TD’s son.) They’re a mess. But also there’s Ranieh & his fam. . . and my original classic OTP of Arilla & her love interest (Rani’s older bro). <333 All special to me.

Do you have any OC family trees?

Primarily: TD likes to get married and start a family (and load them with psychological baggage). But also Ranieh has got notable family members (esp in the original classic story).

Those ones are like ~3 layers deep~ and connect the most to other ‘main chara’-type OCs.

. . . for years I could easily say it was Lukar (still partly true) but of late I have been overtaken w/ feelings for his brother, thanks to this Star Wars AU. . . That is Kallir (Malith), who I still think of as his little brother, even tho they are completely unrelated in their SWTOR forms. (It’s about where/how they were Conceptually born, & the ‘brain smart/social development dumb; idiot brothers who do bad things but it’s not really their idea and all they really want /so badly/ is love from someone’ soul connection.)

OC you most struggled to make?

Idk if I could say one on an overall level, but NAMING Zahied took me like two years. . . and I guess also his design took a while (well after I had decided he would exist) so. . I’ll point at him.

In highschool -- when I did nothing but draw in every spare moment at school, & did nothing but RP online in every spare moment at home.

I sketch w/ pencil. Used to RP in a quick ‘n light format. . . Now I write short fics b/c I have no RP going on and I need an outlet.

Mostly keep my sharing among my friends. But there are art & fic channels on the SWTOR tumblr Discord I help mod. . . every so often I re-post what’s here (on tumblr). I may, at times, put a fic or two there that I wouldn’t put here.

Do you have/want a career in your medium? If not, what do you do/want to do instead?

I used to want to. I have made some money off of drawing. . . but too many brain problems to be self-sustaining as an artist.

Might be the same. I write relationship-centric and character-perspective stuff (In Space, right now--sometimes in other Fantasy settings) & I like it Complicated but with some humor and good moments of triumph & of people loving one another very intensely. A couple of my fav series lately to read have been The Locked Tomb & the Imperial Radch books. I also have been a Lord of the Rings fan since I was young.

YESSS Steve's character is so interesting to me and i adore him so much, he's someone who as of right now kinda choses to prioritize other people in his life so he can also avoid figuring out what to do with his, hes stuck romantically and career wise and he doesn't necessarily have the best relationship with his parents so he also lacks the guidance he's trying to provide for others, where Eddie is stuck based on the fear of what comes next in the sense that maybe his plans won't pan out Steve is stuck out of fear for the unknown in life

Ooohhhh I love this: “he now kinda chooses to prioritize other people in his life so he can also avoid figuring out what to do with his” SHOTS. FIRED. hahaha this is soooo true. And it’s really evident like in season 4, with his obsession with hooking Robin up with someone. It’s even on his brain when they’re making literal Molotovs.

And yes I love the juxtaposition between the two boys always. And I know the Duffers initially wanted to show more of the polar opposite dynamics as role models for Dustin (mom and dad lol). But also they come from opposite socio-economic class systems. Like imagine Chrissy’s dead body on the Harrington’s living room floor??? It would be evident that someone broke in and murdered her. No one would even think to implicate King Steve. (QUICK. SOMEONE WRITE THIS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.)

I love all sorts of different ship dynamics I mean, friends to lovers is probably my favorite but you know, I am down for other dynamics. That being said, I don't like writing the um sexual parts of relationships. A girl is ace soooo. Kissing, cuddling, roaming hands, alright. Past that? Fade to black please lol. And obviously there has to be chemistry. I won't just start off with romantic shipping.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

No one the age of the juniors we are not those kind of people here. Ick. And then I really would not be comfortable with an age gap where a character is around the same age as Lan Qiren or the MC's parents shipping with A-Xin.

Are you selective when shipping?

I can be yes. Mostly I just need to get a sense of the chemistry and if that chemistry could lead to shipping. And there are some canon characters that I wouldn't even entertain the idea of shipping with her (Xue Yang for one, definitely not Huaisang or Mingjue cause those are her brother in my mind lol and also actual distant cousins lol, and then none of the bad Wens).

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

Fade to black is preferred so yeah. I'll go as far as maybe roaming hands before I'm like "yeah we can just insinuate from here"

Weekly TV Roundup

Another week, so much TV but a lot of really fun stuff has been starting recently soooo I’m having fun

QL Shows

👔The Trainee (Ep 2-3): this was nice, kinda seeing all the people who have to come together on a project…and I understand why Jane is the way he is, he does not have time for the BS. But honestly he’s a good mentor I think like he just won’t give his ressources to people who don’t care, I’m excited to see how the romance starts to develop but I like that we’ve started the show by really establishing the workplace and the intern characters more…great episode 😭 I was so stressed for these interns but it was really good I like how the story is progressing hehe like an actual workplace show is what it feels like

🌊Love Sea (Ep 5-6): Dang got me emotional about omelette rice, but for real this episode was good I think it got us back to the main storyline/conflict well…and just like you’re really seeing how damaged this man is…but I believe in him… episode 6 had a lot of nice emotional moments and you can see the process their making in their relationship and the family dynamic is just so sad…the niece character was funny but also I’m like why you telling this child that you were bought 😭… also Vie and Mook like I’m sorry I’m not seeing the vision because at this point Vie has only been shown to either lie or manipulate? Like where’s the romantic relationship gonna come in?

🦜Takara No Vida (Ep 1-2): alright alright this is giving classic Japanese show premise…switching your whole life for the man who comforted you about your dead bird? So real…also the fact that he was like “I thought you were in middle school” like damn…but honestly so far pretty good I feel like we’re getting little insights into the characters and I’m ready to see where it goes

🥘What Did You Eat Yesterday? (S2, Ep 8): this episode was sort of reflecting on seeing other break ups and making you sort of reflect about your own relationship, like Kenji and Shiro are obviously pretty stable couple, but there’s always the what if…and like Shiros parents continue to be consistently confusing like the fact that they’re willing to give Kenji half the inheritance and are so against them breaking up but can’t physically meet him again…

☀️I Hear The Sunspot (Ep 3): wow, another great episode more focused on Taichi, at this point we now know where each character is coming from and see the reasons why they act as they do. Both these characters are lonely in different ways and are losing some of that loneliness by coming together it’s just really nice. And i can’t that Sugihara was the one to make the hamburgers the second day and he was so invested in how they tasted that was cute like damn

🦋My Marvellous Dream Is You (Ep 10): wellll this show is at least consistent in the angst lol…honestly I feel like this show is really just showing us how Kim and Wans traumas at their families breaking up have really just shaped their entire lives…they can’t be honest with each other and make that leap…Kim feels so dedicated to her mother and feels like she needs to act in a certain way that she’ll marry this man…I also just feel like she’s waiting for any sign from Wan which she obviously is not getting..it’s frustrating but also I am liking it in some ways? I think it’s an interesting dynamic to just see how much these two just cannot get it together…there’s just not enough moments to break the tension like the friends bring the comedy which is nice but like they’ve really done nothing with the side characters/couples which I think would break up some of this angst

✨We Are (Ep 15): sweeet cute fun fresh, as usual you know it was a feel goodddd show and the bday party was cute…the story is wrapping up and we’ll see what they do with Phums dad that’s really the only thread left to explore I feel (and Chain/Pun but who knows)…also with the hint at Matt and Mick I’m dying like imagine being Beer in this friend group 😭…also as someone who is/was in a friend group with multiple couples in it…praying none of them break up in the future (if We Are wants to make a super angsty second season they should do that lol)…after the last episode I think I’ll do a ranking of all the couples hehe

🤫The Secret of Us (Ep 3): idk what to do with this show but I’m in love with Dr.Fahlada like I will do anything for her 😭 I’m really not sure how they’re going to turn this around but at the same time…I don’t think the doctor will take much convincing she’s clearly still so attached to Earn and I get why Earns not telling her the truth but still it’s just a lot…also love a supportive bestie and a rival love interest with infinite rizz

🏡Knock Knock Boys (Ep 8): this show continues to be great in my opinion I look forward to it every week ❤️ this episode I felt was mostly focused on Thanwa and his continued battle between what he wants and should do….i like that he didn’t actually get back with Max (for many reasons) he just more needed to move out from the house and away from Peak…as annoying as their conflict can be I still understand the choices and assumptions each one of them makes and I’m ready for them to start communicating properly. I’m glad Jumper and Shawn got to beat up Max and Latte and Almond continue to have me in a chokehold

🪨Century of Love (Ep 1-2): I like this show a lot so far! It’s got some action, some fantasy/romance elements, the backstory and lore is clear, we’ve established the characters and hinted well at future conflicts! Also San is such a believable 100+ year okd man in a young body to me…i saw some theories what is Vee isn’t actually Vad reincarnated and I kinda love that? But we’ll see I’m in for the ride

👑Marahuyo Project (Ep 5-6): this show continues to slay…like the messages about coming out vs not…about people on different journeys or experiencing different things…and just the feeling of community and what it’s purpose is really for…also love the messages about knowing/learning the history to work for a better future, especially queer history which is so heavily suppressed..I was genuinely overcome with emotion with Ino on the beach just repeating that’s he’s gay and the joy/relief on his face like each character here feels so special to me ❤️

✂️Ayaka is in love with Hiroko (Ep 2): I loved Hiroko last episode but Ayaka got me this time, she’s just so determined and so earnest in her feelings and Hiroko is just refusing to believe them it’s great…I’m having a blast I love the style of the show and I genuinely think it’s really funny…I also love that you can really feel how much Ayaka likes/is attracted to Hiroko it’s a good time overall

🫛This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans (Ep 2): I am having fun with this show, it’s not deep it’s not causing me stress it’s just a fun lil cooking romcom and that’s all it needs to be lol…I am intrigued in JJ and methas relationship developing…also it’s so unserious because why was Wan out here taking a bite of this man’s face

🧍My Stand In (Ep 12)(End): and now 12 weeks of wild plot comes to an end…honestly I never knew where this show was going but I had fun the whole way through…I’m glad we sort of left everyone on a positive note, but I do feel some of the plot points were tied up a little too easily and nicely (esp like the dad just accepting them? Out of the blue it felt) but so many parts of this show were fun and every week it had me tuning in…overall very enjoyable and I love Joe and honestly Ming as a character but this show didn’t like overly consume my thoughts as some others have lol (Rating 8/10)

🌅Sunset X Vibes (Ep 5): I feel this week we got a lil more back on track with the show just being so unserious but silly fun I guess? Sun and Lins lil dance at the end was cute <3 and they might be moving at the speed of light but they communicate pretty well and you can feel how much they like each other. The side couples im still waiting to see a lil like especially Prim and Pim I’m not seeing the vision yet

💟Wandee Goodday (Ep 11): okkk so this week we got a convo between the brothers, a feelings confirmed kiss situation, a lot of big moments but I’ve just lost a lot of steam with this show like some of the individual moments are nice but overall I don’t really know what we’re doing so I just don’t care as much 😭 honestly if they put Taem and Dr. ter together I can’t do it pls no…at least Kai got a BF off screen? And like Yei/Cher supremacy and still I like the acting it’s just idk not all coming together for me

🧑‍🍳Cooking Crush (Ep 6): Eeeeeee i like how we got a hint of the kiss last episode and then backtrack to see the events leading up to it…it’s just again so sweet like the last cooking class and them obviously not wanting it to end, I’m enjoying…and the friends are also fun and I’m starting to get into Dy/Fire dynamic and excited to see where that will gooooo…also seems the competition part will be starting and I’m excited for that hehehe

🪁Meet Me At The Blossom (Ep 1-2): I don’t even know what to say I don’t watch C-dramas ever so I started this on a whim and so far I’m having lots of fun…especially loving Jin Xiabao and him being an absolute himbo who only cares about getting married and could not care less about the politics going on or anything like I love that man…also usually I’m so so confused for many episodes with more historical/fantasy shows but here I’m actually more or less following which is nice

Other Shows:

🩲Old Man Underpants (Ep 2): this episode was more focused on Moe and Matokos relationship and I thought it was a great episode again, and showing that even people who want to change and are directly trying to will mess up a lot and growth is not straightforward or linear but also, just because you are trying to grow doesn’t mean you haven’t hurt people or what you do won’t continue to hurt people even with comments or actions you don’t think are a big deal or don’t even remember…anyways still a great show. I also like the idea of him being actually confronted with the fact that Daichi is gay at the end of the episode and feeling strongly because of that because people can say they are for things in theory, or be allies in theory, but it can be more difficult when it’s actually time for you to accept everything that comes with queerness…anyways very good

🎸We Are Lady Parts (Season 2): I’m sad at how short this show is because dang is it great…like seriously so good. Shows about bands lowkey one of my weaknesses….but it’s just so good like it continues to talk about things in a way that doesn’t feel forced, I’ll say it again, all the actors are so good and each of their storylines is wen explored for the shows short runtime. Ayesha’s storyline to me is really great like to have a queer character who decides not to come out because they don’t want to, just feels great because so much media it feels like it’s something you have to do to be authentically queer…I’m reading Hijab Butch Blues right now and it sort of touches on a similar thing of not wanting to come out to their family but feeling like they have to and so both of these stories, real and fictional will be on my mind for a while

👯‍♀️Hello My Twenties (Ep 8-9): this show continues to balance plots like « I want to break up with my boyfriend » with « my mom might have murdered my dad to collect an insurance payout » and I think that’s beautiful….yoon snd the restaurant guy are my two fave yearners, no two people have yearned as hard as them and I love them…honestly I love all of them so much and each have such a distinct but strong personality in their own way…my dream in life is to become like the landlady and just sip my red wine on my roof dancing

Fun Fact: I know I may not mention Flazino much (Yes, he exists), I think this is the first post I’ve ever actually properly mentioned him. BUT did you know that his relationship with Asha is one of my favourites? ✨✨ Believe it or not, I honestly like the concept idea of Flazino x Asha buuuut I like them as I have them now currently.

For context, Flazino works as the kingdom’s royal announcer AND tour guide. He’s well known and friendly with people with a huge little secret. He’s a guy who’s silently disagreeing with the king’s wish-granting process and secretly learning more in his interest in magic-casting. (Something that’s forbidden other than the king and queen btw.)

Meeting Asha, Flazino found someone else he could confide in and sigh in relief that he’s not crazy with his doubts. Meanwhile, Asha is encouraged to at least take one step forward. To be a tad more confident in taking action. (Since she’s the king’s assistant and could possibly be the only one who’s close enough to suggest some changes because Mag wouldn’t even bat an eye at his direction. In Flazi’s eyes at least...)

I love them. I think of “The Other Side” scene in the Greatest Showman when thinking about them :))

Plus, another funny scenario in my head that when they first actually have a real conversation, Flazino is surprised she doesn’t know who he is. Most of the kingdom does as he is the public announcer or the ‘hard-to-miss’ outgoing tour guide. Asha, who’s often in her own little world in her head and an absolute wallflower, just maybe remembers him as some guy she must’ve passed a minute or two ago.

They got close mostly due to Flazino. (Asha never would have the initiative to really talk to new people otherwise.) In her view, she admires him. Flazino’s basically the person she only wished she could be. Confident. Keeps to their word. Proactive. Unfortunately, she doesn’t think that would happen any time soon. Totally…

Flazi, who’s a magic enthusiast, is a tiny jealous that Asha gets to be near and witness Magnifico’s sorcerer magic up-close. Sometimes, he brings it up and ask “Hey! How was your new job with the king?” and she’s like:

But hey! This is their lovely dynamic! They’re not just friends. Nor are they lovers. They’re the secret third option. Lmao. They don’t really have a label for what they are but plenty of people assume they’re a thing. (They’re not. The misunderstandings and their attempts at explaining are terribly awkward 😅) Their relationship is a little rocky since Flazino tends to be a little too pushy. With Asha’s initial shy and people-pleaser attitude at first, Flazi is unaware of how he unintentionally fails to listen to Asha’s side of the story and her worries. Just like everyone else but in a different way…

But he really does mean no harm in anything he does and ultimately, these two are really close! X3 (Let me know what you think of this introduction to RFTS!Flazino.)

2.) Safi x Dario

Oh look! It’s me with a pretty unique ship! (Note again that this is all just an AU. The dynamics within Asha’s friend group in the movie we got is almost blank anyways so I don’t really care how people choose to interpret it. This is just me.)

Hehe, Safi was sort of pining way back then. Dari was one of the few people who don’t find his allergies annoying or leave whenever he gets into a sneezy fit. I meaaaaaaan, his other 5 friends don’t as well, but Safi can tell they still find his allergies a little bit of an inconvenience, especially when he clumsily tries to help. Often leading into a mess. But neither side ever holds it against the other.

Dario specifically doesn’t mind the messes at all. Or even…notice it in the first place.

Plus, they share an interest in bird-watching and just birds! in general. It’s especially chickens in Safi’s case while Dario tends to get distracted watching some birds fly past.

Another thing they bond about is how they could relate to people getting frustrated with them despite how they’re trying. With Safi’s allergies getting in the way often and Dari’s hard-of-hearing making it difficult to communicate sometimes. It’s a nice change of pace to have someone who wouldn’t bring it up in frustration or anything.

So hopefully you can see why they grew fond over time. ;)

3.) Asha x Star (Hopes and Dreams)

Yes. I called him Star at this point in the story. He hasn’t been given the name, Sueño, yet.

This is sort of their dynamic in their first few times getting to know each other. Asha wanting to help Rosas find an alternative way to reach and achieve their wishes without Mag’s intervention while Star is just: “Ffffffffine. I don’t see why they’d need more wishes but whatever.”

Of course, these two are going to develop and understand the other more over time. Into something a whole lot more and that neither ever expected~ 💖

4.) Magnifico x Amaya (Grand Despair)

Lol, I like to think that a lot of people underestimate Amaya even back when they were younger. “Oooh~ she’s actually kind of fcked up too.”

I already mentioned before that the tragic fate this couple is going is similar to Phineas and Charity’s relationship from the Greatest Showman. The pursuit for something else causing one of them to slowly drift away from the other buuuut…. let’s not talk about that for now.

Anyways usually, Magnifico does act all royal, grand and confident but let’s face it man. We all know you have a certain weakness you fckin simp. (Dammit, why don’t you let her know you still adore her anymore these days? Hmm?)

(Sueño watching this scary, short-tempered guy turn into a pathetic loser around his wife is just…wow. So that’s love? He almost hopes he doesn’t fall in- OH WAIT-)

5.) Gabo and Dario

I really feel like there’s much wasted potential between interactions with these two. Come on! It’s Grumpy and Dopey!! Think of the comedic potential-

Anyways, I read somewhere that Gabo is just someone who’s been disappointed greatly and it’s why he’s so pessimistic. So I’m taking that one of his family members passed without having a chance to get a single dream granted and now he’s all pissy with people. It’s Gabo’s main thing that no one should’ve underwent injustice like having a promise they trusted to be broken just like that. Especially not his own.

Dario’s main trait is patience and that’s pretty much how he is around Gabo. Whether he’s amazingly tolerant of him OR whether he really couldn’t read the social cues, no one knows. But these two eventually become very good friends. The “He’s an idiot. But I guesss he’s my idiot.” kind of friendship.

Gabo would never really admit it directly or out loud but he truly does care for each one he considers a friend. Yes, Dario may forget which side is left or right but if you so as much talk sht about him, get ready to be taking some sht back.

6.) Safi and Bazeema

These two are rarely ever seen apart to the point where people thought they were siblings. Bazeema is very compassionate and her favourite part about Safi is how he is always straight-up honest with himself even if it’s embarrassing. (She doesn’t like it when people put up a mask and leave her guessing in what they want from her.) Safi also tries to be selfless and help out whenever she’s struggling about speaking out louder or if she went non-verbal for a bit.

Safi also tends to be impulsive and may let out some stuff he’s not supposed to let anyone know but he can always count on her to not tell a soul. Meanwhile, Bazeema is really quick and agile so she can efficiently move to help Safi out in any of his clumsy accidents. They’re a working power-duo! :DD

……….. 7.) Bazeema and Hal

Romantic or platonic in whatever universe. I don’t care. They’re in a QPR in the RFTS!AU fellas and they balance each other out very nicely and are just adorable. Along with Safi, Hal helps in easing Bazeema out whenever she’s overthinking something. They’re like the two main people who best understand her.

But Hal specifically brings a little more zest into her life that Bazeema can’t help but develop a ‘squish’ on.

………… 8.) Valentino and Asha

Self-explanatory. This is Asha’s chaotic son who will head-butt people for her no matter how big or small the target is. She loves him very much regardless.

9.) Simon x Dahlia

Awwww, these two are kind of like the parents of the group and are just concerned for everyone’s safety. They’re also both struggling internally with family-related issues of what’s expected for them.

Simon to make his father proud by finally proving that he earned it to be knighted while Dahlia is biting her tongue from any complaints about her royal baker role so she can preserve her family’s honour. (Despite getting her wish granted of being good at baking, Dahlia still feels empty inside and she thinks it’s because she’s being ungrateful. Which she feels guilty about.)

Both keep reassuring the other that what they’re doing is more than enough. But Simon keeps feeling like he isn’t exerting himself more while Dahlia can’t help but feel like a fraud in her predicament. (It’s not even any of their faults…It’s not their fault they didn’t know the consequences of giving away their wishes….😭😭)

They’re basically an unofficial couple that even THEY aren’t aware of because it just happened naturally. They’re each other’s backbone :))

🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?: Probably Jess talking about getting infected by an errant Backstreet Boy in Lavender. As far as general humor? I love Goldie and Joel just ribbing on each other CONSTANTLY. Also, Joel teasing Doc and Doc teasing Joel the morning after they watch When Harry Met Sally together, when he tells her she sounded like a very tiny chainsaw in her sleep and she tells him he sure is mean for someone who's favorite movie is When Harry Met Sally. I also love the moment in Beskar Doll when Grogu hits Din in the face with a snowball. BUT you apparently think I'm funny (which warms my heart so much omg) what is your favorite if you have one?? I'm curious!

🍊 Who’s a character you don’t write for that often, but keep meaning to write for more? (They’re so interesting! But maybe you have trouble pinning them down, or keep getting distracted by another blorbo…): Probably Din. He's my first love, my dear Tin Can Man. I have so many ideas for him right now but Joel just has me in a chokehold. I also have that one Javi P fic I've been meaning to write FOREVER and I have some brain rot around Frankie and Whiskey atm. I just need to get better at splitting my time, I have too many ideas and not enough time!

🫐 What’s your favorite underrated thing in your fandom? (A ship that only you seem to write for, a character there’s almost no fics about, a trope that criminally hasn’t been written yet, etc.): Tommy being a brother/uncle is just my obsession. I'm so in love with him as a foil for Joel and their dynamic as brothers. I also adore him as a big brother/uncle to Sarah (he would have been SO young when she was born, he and Sarah have to have been tight) and his relationship with the FMC/Readers I put into stories. Obviously, with Doc, it was romantic. But for Bambi he's the teasing big brother who lives to give his little sister a hard time and in Halcyon, he's going to become more present as the smarts little brother. I just adore Tommy! Do you have one?? I'm still curious!!
