Mother...didn't approve of them and often screamed in their face. I was quite terrified she would scare them away, though that didn't stop them at all. Haha, I think they got even more persistent afterwards. I am truly glad I met them.”

“Again...? I see. Thank you, Trey. Hmph, I'll have to schedule another visit once more."

"Ah, Yuuken—It's Rose. They've gotten admitted to the hospital...again. (Y/N) is quite impulsive and tends to bite off more than they can chew. On more than occasion, like now, I would find out about their hospital admissions via Trey days or even weeks after."

"They claim that they withhold the information from me out of concern for my workload or out of fear of being a burden. Though that is—a sentiment I don't understand. Nothing is more important to me than their health."

"Yeah. Ever since my first year of high school, they were sick and bedridden. (Y/N)'s parents don't have enough money for a doctor, so there's not much they can do. Of course, I'm out here doin' my best to help too."

"I really...I really wanna see them up and runnin' again. Hey, who knows—maybe we'll get to make flower crowns for the village kids again...together."

"What if something happened...? Well, I'm sure you wouldn't mind being hunted down the face of the earth, tied up, and pulled down to the deepest pits of the blue ocean, where no one can hear your anguished cries for help...Would you?"

"To get these. It's shark teeth. Our anniversary is comin' up, and Jade suggested that I should make some jewelry for them. It's a merfolk courting thing. Azul 'n Jade told me to get them pearls, but I thought that was boring. So, I'm making one with shark teeth instead! Isn't that cool~?"

>"I-I guess, but what happened to the sharks?"

"Ugh. None of them were a fun hunt. The entire hoard swam away so fast. Can you believe it???… I’m not the typa eel who would let my prey get away that easily, though. And it’s not like I had anything better to do. Ehehe! There were so many of those sharks swarming around, but I managed to squeeze them all! Well, it was worth it in the end cuz I got what I wanted. I'll do anythin' for my little sea walnut~"

"I...I don't think (Y/N) realizes just how much I cherish them. I don't think now's the right time for that though. I've hurt them too much and I still have a long way to go before I fix things."

To see them at work was truly a magnificent sight to witness. They command attention and radiate strength. While I had always admired them, I could not bring myself to express my true feelings to them. Until...that night."

"Yes. On the evening of Silver's 16th birthday, someone had rushed at me with a dagger in hand. (Y/N) was the first to respond and took the hit for me...The sound of their screams as the knife tore through their flesh was truly...horrifying."

>"That's horrible! What happened to the guy?"

"Worry not, he was taken care of accordingly....If there is anything I’ve learned from Lilia's many teachings, it’s that the worst calamities that befall an army arise from hesitation. To avoid further offensives, one must deal with and eliminate adversaries as soon as possible. Don't you think so?"

The Sims 2 Viper Canyon "Challenge"

I present to you a loosely-named challenge for The Sims 2 family/lot bin sims or what I lovingly call as "the spares".

*stares heinously in Cedric Diggory*

If you have never plucked up the courage to play all of the sims that are dumped in your family bin when a new neighborhood is created, you're not alone. Luckily, @meetmetotheriver has developed a beautiful neighborhood that makes this task a little less painful - along with cleaning up a lot of Maxis blunders along the way.

Viper Canyon is a desert neighborhood where all of these spares live, so you can get rid of them in your other neighborhoods forever!

I've created a little challenge for myself that I thought other simmers would be interested in partaking in, because let's be honest - families like the Goodies are painful to play through. Here's the "challenge" rules:

Play through each family for three "generations". Here, the first generation is the adult sim in the family - so the challenge only requires you to play until their grandchild reaches adulthood. In the case of the Newsons, we will count them as the first generation since there are no adults in the family.

No cheats are allowed, but can use aspiration/career rewards

The Sim's Lifetime Want and Career track must be picked based on their interests. You can update their original Lifetime Want if it doesn't seem to coincide with their interests.

A sim's partner must be chosen based on their zodiac signs. The signs do not have to be in the "most compatible" category, but cannot be married if they have "incompatible" signs. This means starting out from the gate - Priya and Sanjay Ramaswami have incompatible zodiac signs. This should spice up these families right from the get-go!

All sub-hoods attached to Viper Canyon must have a desert layout. This means you can choose "La Fiesta Tech" for the University or create your own. You cannot use the Downtown, Bluewater Village, or any of the vacation destinations but can create your own.

**UPDATED 3/8/24** Additional "Extreme Challenge" Rules

All original family bin/lot sims, besides the elders, must have offspring. This means all Newson kids, all Ottomas kids, and all adult sims (even if they currently have a child) must have at least one child - whether through natural means, adoption, or alien abduction.

You cannot have more than two sims in a single career track.

And that's all there is to it (hence why I can hardly call this a challenge, but man, it's going to be challenging for me). Help keep these families interesting by spicing up the couples and taking a totally different approach to their stories than their original "Description" entails (whyyy wouldn't they originally match up their interests with their storyline?!).
