𝐂𝐗𝐈𝐕. The second apocalypse, Fortuna and the Neohuman Project.

On the second Apocalypse.

It's important to describe what exactly makes an apocalypse be considered such and not described by other name (like cataclysm) if both are events harmful to Teyvat itself and the living beings that inhabit it. For this, I will make a comparison between Phanes' arrival to Teyvat and the Second Who Came + Nibelung descent with forbidden knowledge.

In the former, although it's unquestionable that the war waged between Phanes and whoever fought alongside him (if any), and the Dragon Sovereigns must've scarred Teyvat one way or another (we know from Sapientia Oramasdis II about the consequences it would take if Apep passed away by releasing all the Dendro energy within it as well as we know that some dragons perished in the combat be it during the first, the second fight when Nibelung brought forbidden knowledge and the Second Who Came arrived or in both, which must've led to consequences on a planetary level), it isn't stated to be in a relevant way worth mentioning. Here, the outcome was clear: the winner would inherit the right to reshape the world, whereas the loser would be subdued. Such was the dynamic between Phanes as the former and the Sovereign Dragons as the latter, and so Teyvat was recreated which caused it more hospitable for the soon-to-be created humans after that.

In the latter, however, it's different. Not only the fact that Nibelung, in all his wish to dethrone Phanes and the Saints, brought forbidden knowledge worsened matters both to himself, his fellow dragons and everything else— but the Second Who Came's presence as well made it so that the entirety of Teyvat as a planet was endangered and it ran the risk of being dying. Not the living beings that inhabit it alone, but the world in itself too. Among the consequences that have been stated, it's known that: forests turned into sand in Sumeru, there was an immense flood that drowned the unified civilization (Enkanomiya fell into an extraplanar conjunction point between the Human, Light and Void realms) and a breakthrough of the plague brought to this world (presumably Abyss energy-related). In order to mend this, Phanes dropped sapphire nails to prevent the world from crumbling so these would purify the land, thus destroying adjacent civilization as an undesired side-effect to his determination to protect Teyvat. Because of the importance of events that befell and what nearly caused to the world, this historical event would be more accurate to point as an apocalypse versus the former discord.

Given everything we've learned about the Cataclysm, even if one could argue that its relevance and what it caused to the world was negative and harmful (which it was), it wasn't on the same level as the apocalypse.

Although it has been teased before that in Snezhnaya it's known that the world will face a new Long Night (or at least among the Fatui, Harbingers and the Tsaritsa) and in René's notes that a catastrophe must be avoided at all costs, this patch of Fontaine shed more light onto what that means: the coming of a second apocalypse. An apocalypse described as a world where no more flowers will grow, a disaster defined for seeing a pool of blood past one's ankles, a world in which after a few hundred years, all birthing waters will dry up and after that, the world will be devoid of light with destroyed civilizations and a shattered sky that can be seen via two methods: through the Book of Revealing or the Looking Glass.

Whatever will lead Teyvat to this state remains unknown, but the Abyss Order's intentions are tellers of an outcome for the world far from desirable given their determination to plunge the whole world to darkness and overthrow Celestia with the power of the Abyss. In essence, the Abyss Order may not be any different than Celestia is due to their determination to potentially change the threads of fate in a similar fashion as there seems to be a divine control over fate that not all gods have access (the Archons) for their own purposes. Even if forbidden knowledge has been erased, there is still a latent star-devouring darkness that endangers Teyvat. Tsaritsa's involvement alongside her Fatui and Harbingers may also lead to undesirable consequences that could lead the world to its downfall, or Celestia's awakening and action may assist in that as well. Perhaps it's all three deeds at once.

This second apocalypse has been prophesied by René de Petrichor and Jakob Ingold, which is not an unlikely thing to happen. A relatively recent element, the Sign of Apaosha, is said to reflect the Abyss and corrupt the land around it (the sign), and it's believed to be a reflection of the "reality" beyond Teyvat's skies. Given that as per René's notes it's known that research on the Abyss [energy] was being conducted as well as other future research that I'll mention briefly, it's not impossible to have witnessed a catastrophe to come. Moreover, according to the Book of Revealing written by René, it's implied that other ancient civilizations might've been aware of this fact (at least the one of the Nameless City or underground palace in the depths of the Chasm, given that these ruins are displayed in the prophetic vision of the future).

On Fortuna.

Fortuna [that which happens without design, remarkable occurrence] (or world-formula, as termed by René) is described as the phenomenon that takes place when a civilization is destroyed and a new one is born from its ashes. Besides prophesying a second apocalypse to come in centuries (since 400 years ago), calculations made in regards of this subject reflect the outcome that no new civilizations will be born unless new variables are introduced "from outside the system". This would increase the magnitude of this catastrophe bound to come.

On the Neohuman Project.

This is the chosen variable by René de Petrichor in order to face the incoming crisis, or better said, ensure humanity's survival in the context that this apocalypse will take place no matter what, hence Teyvat will become an inhospitable world incompatible with life. Starting first with himself and then with Jakob Ingold, René's discoveries led him to learn that the composition of their bodies (changed as a result of these experiments) are closer to that of the Abyss and the Khvarena, paradoxical as it may be. Their bodies don't need nourishment like normal humans do and they possess terrifying self-recovery properties (fact-checked by extirpating ingrown organs close to vocal chords [albeit not for this purpose] and watching them regrow in a matter of few days) and in order to grow stronger, these bodies are nourished with the blood of fell beasts of the Abyss (Elynas in Jakob's case, albeit it was discovered that the Crimson Agate of Dragonspine and Elynas' blood share the same properties). In the present day, Jakob, in the body of an adult human, has been seen taking the form of an Iniquitous Baptist.

This project is seen as a manner of human transcendence in order to adapt to the hostile world that Teyvat will become if the prophecy becomes true. When the neohuman project proved to be difficult and a failure on a new experiment, a new variable has been introduced. Experiments were conducted in more humans and, albeit anti-intellectual and counter-intuitive, it's presumed that in order to transcend one's physical form and personality must be shed and lost and thus a gestalt where memories and other human souls are merged together similar to the principle of merging Oceanids into one by returning to the primordial waters. Ancients (presumably those of the Nameless City) have been already successful in this in the past. René, as the first subject in more modern times (400 years ago), was successful and he was able to see the memories of those human subjects that took part in this project.

Well, I awoke to some interesting news that has the entire Splatfandom buzzing like a kicked beehive.

Nintendo really be pulling all the stops into this Grandfest.

A BigRun, heading directly for the same location the Grandfest is taking place?!

We who know enough about the lore and theorized this could happen from hints hear and there. For one the Seven Rings Prophecy, @rassicas has covered a bit on that and another dude on Twitter Senpai, pretty much guessed 100% correctly kudos to them!

I think this Grandfest and Bigrun might be deciding the ultimate fate of the Salmonids. Think about it...the Seven Rings Prophesy been building up since Splatoon 2. 5 years, time skipped counting ingame two years = 7 years. Funny number right? I think all idols, Grizzco and whoever else is in charge got wind of this incoming disaster, and planned for the Grandfest to act as some kind of subtle version of a city wide evacuation! The Grandfest itself is acting like some kind of cover and a way to increase all the participating Infish Resonance Hype Factor. Examples: how the Idols music seems to effect the agent's at just the right moment. All of this to help defeat a Prophecy from long ago.

Don't forget that one glimpse we saw that golden boat in the beginning of the trailer...Noah's Ark anybody?!

You looked great, and it made him happy that you were confident

He gave a smile in return

It was one of his sweet, genuine smiles that you adored so much

He took both your hands in his as he said:

"I like your outfit. It suits you."

Lloyd was looking around, surveying the unfamiliar landscape

He was caught off guard when he noticed you walking towards him, wearing a rather flattering outfit

He felt his cheeks heat up instantly

He floundered when you stopped in front of him; his mind was totally blank

You raised an eyebrow, smirking as he stared

Realizing he was being rude, he fumbled to say something

She took your hand in hers as she showed you off to the others

Kind of like Zane, she doesn't care for appearances

She's more focused on functionality when it comes to clothing

So when you approach her in your new outfit, the first thing she does is overanalyze it

She walks around you in a circle, pointing and tugging at different parts

She's lowkey critiquing you 💀

"This will be good in allowing you to move freely. This part is too loose; it might get caught on something. You'll have to be careful."

She's doing it because she loves you, I promise

She just wants you to be as efficient and safe as you can be!

SO FIRST OF ALL I'm gonna be comparing timebomb to another already Canon, straight ship. Guess.

If you guessed these two you guessed right!!!!!!! :3

People do NOT like this couple for multiple reasons.

1. Jayce is very VERRYY unliked in the series. (I'll get into this in another post.)

2. These two, even though having a literal humpy humpy scene, BARELY had any chemistry.

3. HUGEEE POWER GAP BETWEEN THE TWO. it didn't feel like they were equals to eachother, with Mel always dictating Jayce's each and every move.

4. Elaboration on 2, if we take a look at statistics, (MY fyp rn on tiktok, and probably your's too.) Vi and Caitlyn were fan favourites, why? Multiple reasons, That I am NOT getting into, (new post idea!!) But one of the main reasons was the chemistry between the two, and the tension. (something Jayce and Mel didn't have) People focused more on Vi and Cait because the base of their relationship wasn't based on fucking politics and "the future of piltover" (ahem)

What do these two have that Mel and Jayce don't?

1. Both Characters are likeable ❤️ (I'm biased here since my favourite character in the series is Ekko) -> upcoming post!!!

2. The base of their relationship, being the past, is actually interesting, and it ties to both of them beautifully. We know Ekko Ingame as the boy who can rewind time, And we know jinx now as a girl who's so trapped in her past. Does that not make u want to rip ur heart out to give to the writers of arcane or is if just me.

3. Unlike Mel and Jayce, The trope between Ekko and Jinx is ALSO interesting. You cant call mel and jayce enemies to lovers because Mel NEVER saw jayce as an enemy. (Jayce is debatable.) The trope between Jinx and Ekko is always changing, keeping us on our toes.

4. Elaboration on 1, Both Characters are likeable because BOTH characters are interesting. I'll give it to Jayce, his character is interesting but compared to rest, it's lowkey just.. eh. 😭😭. Mel's character is beautifully written, just like Ekko AND Jinx.

Hello!! How are you??!

I hope everything is good for you.

You have no Idea how much I have been struggling with these poses... well... not the poses itself, but the object for them...

I was having problems with the texture that was not showing correctly ingame and I had to work on it an entire week to make it works.... I was sooo reliefe when I found the solution some days ago... And I have to say that I really hate making objects for the game haha But I really needed the object for these poses... and even when it is not perfect, I'm pleased to, at least, say that I could made it.

See... I made these poses to use them in blender, but then I decided to make them for the game. The thing is... In blender I can use any object as a tray for the pose, 'cause there are no restrictions on objects and placing them... but in game I needed the actual accessory... and that is what took me longer....

For the accessory ingame I used a plate of pancakes and the tray with a book from one of the kits that released recently.... (When I saw that tray, I was so happy 'cause I needed a tray and they gave me one, and it was perfect.... well, almost perfect....) I have to thanks JochiTec for helping me changing the book of the original tray to the plate of pancakes, cause I had no idea how to make it work (He is a great creator with some great items so, go check their things on curseforge).... and Siboulette, for helping me with the solution for the texture problem (I think you all know her but if you don't, go check her things right here, she is an amazing creator).

I made two different accessories for the pose. One is the tray with a plate of pancakes and the other is the original tray with a book from the "Book Nook Kit", in case you want to use the pose with the book, wich is weird but it can happend...

I made an object clutter version with all the swatches for the pancake accessory too, in case you want to place the tray in other surfaces out of the pose itself.

In the other hand, when I was making the poses, I decided to add a bed version of one of the poses from my "Couple_poses_23"... I thought it could be very helpful for those who can't or don't use the "tool" mod by twisted mexi and want their pixels to cuddle with that pose in bed, so I hope you enjoy the pose in bed too xp... and that your sims have a delicious breakfast.

Since I could't post these poses  last week as I wanted, I'm delayed with the next poses, so there are some that I will be posting the first days of September. But there will be no more delays on those posts 'cause for the other poses that are coming there are no stupid inexistent objects or accessories to make (I'm done with that for some weeks x_x... seriously....).

Splatoon Shoe Trivia

I think ppl already know most of this already, but its been a while since these came out n i find it really neat so im bringing it up again

here's the super cute squidmas art of OTH and the Squisters, big fan big fan.

Now here's the thing: all those shoes are real shoes in game, but none of the rest of their gear is. Not in Splatoon 2, or even 3 as far as I can tell, but all the shoes? You can wear those in 2!

Now first things first.

Marie is wearing the Trooper Power Stripes.

These were part of the distrubution gear for springfest, alongside 7 other sets of shoes. Shoes designed by Pearl and Marina!! This is one of Marina's shoes, and it was made for Springfest, and Marie is wearing it in this Winter Promo art!!!!!

All the other shoes are real shoes too, the Black Seahorses, Punk Blacks, and White Laceless Dakroniks, for Callie, Pearl, and Marina respectively.

Now there's already a lot to be said here about the fact that for some reason only Marie is wearing springfest exclusive gear (in the winter art!!!), but that's not even all.

Because OTH and the Squid Sister ALSO wear real gear in the art for the Hero v Villian (smash) fest! And unlike the Squidmas art, as of now, Inkipedia notes which pieces of gear are being worn here! thanks inkipedia mods!!!

The squisters appear to both be wearing generic white tee shirts (cuttlefish ingame gear), but Pearl's wearing the Black Hoodie. Marina's jersey, while having the squidforce logo, doesn't appear to be any real jersey a player can wear.

But the shoes!!!! Marina is now wearing shoes that are very similar to the seasme salt 270's, but slightly different (mainly in them being black where the 270's r white). ((thank you inkipedia i wouldn't have caught that one alone)), and Marie is wearing the Black and Blue Squidkids V!

and Pearl and Callie?

Pearl is wearing White Laceless Dakroniks, which you may recognize from being the shoes Marina is wearing in the Squidmas Art. Callie is now wearing the Punk Blacks, which you may recognize from being the shoes that Pearl is wearing during the Squidmas art!

Hero v Villian predates Springfest, and Squidmas 2019!

it's just such a bunch of neat lil details to me.

I like to think Pearl got shoe reccomendations from Callie after Hero v Villian, or that Marina got a pair of shoes to match Pearl. Marie bought the exclusive springfest shoes and then made sure she wore them the next time she saw Marina. who knows!

And luckily, you didn't had to wait for long because right after your question, she gave you a little nod, easy to miss if you blinked... but her blushing face and the way she looked away would tell you it either way~

Hi there

I saw your post about Rellana & Messmer and i really want to know your interpretation of their relationship. Many insist on them being unrequited love but i couldn't really find any evidences that support this interpretation except Rellana's sword description in Eng because the Japanese version is different as it's says the fire & moon were always together .

Anon I am sorry I am so late fdhshf The usual: I was waiting to get to Messmer myself first after doing like 600 side things and then I forgor 😔

But for starters, a couple of funny things regarding the topic! First: I was actually dead sure they were canonically an item because of some thoughts I've heard from the fans early on!! And I got further into this confusion because I've misinterpreted Messmer's emblem as Fire + Twin Moon (since it is two circles overlapping and I first met it in the Castle Ensis), instead of Fire + Two Serpents that it IS! XD

Second: I was instantly confused by the description of Rellana's helmet, because Rennala has brown hair in both concept art portrait and the ingame model. So, the long black hair could not have been a cute parting gift, right....? Well, we resolved it with the help of analysing Japanese text more (this post ( x )), and turned out Rennala DID give her own hair! x) I suppose her hair, or the part that sticks from under the crown, became brown under prolonged strong Amber Egg's light exposure (basically same as sunlight)! However for a month I believed that Rennala simply helped Rellana to tweak her appearance with Amber Egg's magic to charm Messmer better because they knew long black hair was his taste HFSDHFDSGSDG XDDD

So, I was convinced that they were soooo married that they were proudly putting the symbol of alliance of Fire and Moon everywhere. The wording in English 'chase after Messmer' and fanart didn't help x) So.. now it had cleared up a little. As for the Japanese text you're referring to, me and @heraldofcrow asked someone else about it for clarification!

Japanese text breakdown from them is,

Ok, for the first one, she told me that the sentence/description, “ 月と火は、ここでは常に共にあった” has the word “常に” in it for “always.” (It’s “tsuneni” when Anglicized). This means “always, constantly.” So that one is correct. You have verify by even just looking up “tsuneni” in a Japanese dictionary, which I did. Seems right. So, yes the translation is “Moon and fire were constantly/always together here.”

I feel like this is further backed up by a certain other thing within Carians:

Notice how both swords also have identical skill; the use of sorcery with a normal attack after assuming the stance, and the use of fire with a strong attack! Both deal normal, magic and fire damage types! The only thing different is that since then, the celestial body representing the 'sorcery' part changed from stars to Moon, however Carians do not forget their roots!

So all flames, Messmer's included in the end, were an anathema to the Erdtree for the vision of the Cardinal Sin of burning it once (Fire Monks' incantations, Candletree Wooden Shield)!

I see it as Rellana deciding it was bullshit sentiment and actually sorcerers, whether Stars or Moon ones, were supposed to be allies to fire powers, like their origins intended! Liurnia/Carians and the Erdtree became allies after the war ended with Rennala's and Radagon's marriage... Whereas at first Rellana was okay with following the new obligation, for one reason or another she decided to REJECT THE MODERNITY AND EMBRACE THE TRADITION!

I am going to cuss localisation team again, because in Japanese original, the word that is here 'succor' is 癒 (月の輝きが、その男を癒せぬと知っていても) which means to heal! So, the sentiment is, her knowing that she could not fix him the horror plaguing him could not be treated, even with the magic/knowledge of Carians!

Black Knight Commander Andreas and his son Huw stood by Messmer until they've learned WHY Marika "abandoned her son". At this rate I need a T-Shirt that says 'You could never be Tanith' because I need it OFTEN in this DLC hfsdhfds . If Rellana knew of his affliction and still chose to stand by him, that puts her on the level with his Fire Knights, and even his snakes! And we know that Messmer still does need friends, not just his mom.

^ Unlike with the Cleanrot Knights of Malenia getting subjected to her Scarlet Rot by effect, Messmer's flame cannot infect others and it is just a curse for him and his two snake friends. However, Fire Knights attempted to share the burden with him and at least find the satisfaction in using his fire as is! Rellana is similar, because her fire sword IS serpentine and uses his fire:

After having all this context and clearing up my confusion, I think them having unrequited love is possible, but in the other way around! Say instead of her having "chased" him and him not feeling much in return, she had more ideals-fueled reasons to seek him and HE is the one hurting from not being loved the way he wishes!

According to Rogier sky sorceries of either king and the Erdtree were enemies, but sorcery and fire, on the other hand... And an "evil" kind of fire as well; the Fell God is literally named that, it is known as Flame of Ruin, even the Fire Giants carrying it for their god were said to have been burdened by it and it was an anathema to the Erdtree! Marika was not able to overcome her fear before the horror within Messmer although she tried her best to love him, but Rellana maybe decided 'yeah no shade to my sister's tastes but the plea to the Erdtree is kinda dumb, we sorcerers are supposed to be their enemies but allies to all kinds of evil fire! *looks at FF* EXCEPT THAT ONE' fsdhfds She could not heal him, but OG description of her sword makes it sound as though there is a "bigger idea" behind standing with him than just liking him. Aliance of sorcery and fire. She sees standing with him like more natural order and fate!

Messmer, on the other hand, would like to be liked (by her) on a more "primitive" level, without all that historical and philosophical nonsense! He is a person, not a symbol! ..but at the same time, he sorta knows he can't be. It is not just a problem with her, it is a problem with... everyone, really. He is carrying this curse and hates his fire, and to truly understand him would be to experience it the same way as he does. Something Fire Knights attempted to do, but it didn't work. But at the same time, he feels like even if he could infect people with his flame, he would not want to subject her to it in particular. With the Knights their honor kinda implies giving him their all, but despite her also being his blade he sees her as an equal! Someone who is better off not being burdened by his curse. Additionally, he already second-guesses whether he ruined her life by effect by """making""" her lose her right as a princess just to stand with him! Yeah, true, he needs Melina to lecture him on people's agency, but those with very low/negative opinion on selves OFTEN believe that they have more power over people than they actually do. Like they are "manipulating" them by literally just standing there (menacingly), and everything is always their fault..

So yeah! I think Rellana is a little 'clueless' about their bond, nor Messmer is doing enough to express his feelings! She sees them as Moon and Fire, not as Rellana and Messmer, and seems pretty content this way! He, on the other hand, would probably actually charm her romantically if he was not so gloomy and reclusive and put in conscious effort! He has a lot of charisma he is not using to get bitches when he CAN!! But he bounces between the 'why can't she like me in a more personal way?' vs 'wait, why WOULD she? it is better if she doesn't. damn I am an awful person as usual for wanting such thing.' ...🙄

They both have the capacity of developing relationship, but if Rellana is feeling attracted she is clueless about it simply because she won't think of it without being prompted to. With Messmer, he becomes STUPID vulnerable and self-conscious for multiple reasons pondering upon forming a bond this deep with her! I know it is an overused comedy trope, but picture Moonrithyll and [insert a Fire Knight] seeing the clear tension between the two and facepalming about how dumb they are about it XD Or, alternatively, trying to match-make them so they'd stop being so embarrassing and just fuck already lmaoooo fdghfsdg

Conclusion: both are too occupied with their own stuff to make a conscious effort towards it, but the potential and the tension is here! He has more talent for good romantic gestures and just the right tender things to say than he (or anyone else) realises that would make Rellana blush and stumble. Act slightly tsundereish, even, because she is not good at the "soft" things. She, on the other hand, is on more blunt side and her expressions of attraction would be passionate, and mostly vulgar I think. And that'd make HIM blush, because he is not good at THIS stuff! His style is some sentimental sweet line, her style is complimenting his slim ass or whatever fsdfsg Strong romantic energy from Messmer who dies at sexual commentaries, and strong sexual energy from Rellana who is no longer so tough at some nice poetry. Because they're "opposites" in such ways, there is a lot of awkwardness, but also a lot of dynamic!

(+A funnier interpretation is Messmer being romantic asexual that'd be still willing to have sex with someone he loves, and Rellana is aromantic sexual that'd still be okay with cuddles and kisses and stuff from someone she desires! They have each their own way to love and try to make it work. Just a more 'direct' version of the dynamic I've described previously, is this anything? xd)

So what does the great 7 think of the overblot's parents? I can wait to see the Queen of Hearts using her iconic quote to Riddle's mom, Ursula and Queen Grimhilde being proud that Azul's and Vil's have great parents, Hades being confused on how his parents are like compare to what he imagine (before their debut, the fandom assume they are neglectful and not caring given they didnt appear in the flashback) that but male sense where the shroud brothers' personality, Jafar scolding Jamil's parents for lowering his potential, Maleficent feeling bad about his dead parent(s?) (Assume if you heard the theory about it), and not sure about Leona unless replace his parents with Farena. Leona doesn't talk much how his parents affected him other than his dad being sick.

Riddle's Mum

We havent fully se her sprite ingame, but I think as soon as sje appears everyone will go off on her. Amd I'm not only talking about the fandom. So as the Queen of Hearts heard about Riddles Mum, she went as red as the red roses in her garden. She demended on seeing his mum while loudly screaming "HOW DARE SHE TREATS HIM LIKE THAT?! IT WILL BE OFF WITH HER HEAD". Everyone had to calm her down, while Riddle explained that it would be very chaotic if a historical figure like her would suddendly appear in his home and that he already tries to change his mothers mind (although it doesnt really works).

If his Mum were to ever appear in the House of Mouse though she WILL be going off on her

Leona's Parent's

There is not much info regarding both of them, but I really doubt they are bad parents. They clearly were not the factor on Leonas mental state and werent judging him or telling he should be like his brother. As you said Farena is by Leonas saying sick and thus why his older brother is king. Leona never seemed to express hatred or dislike to his parents, so its easy to assume that he is alright about them. So Scar doesnt have much of a dislike to them, he is just glad that he has atleast somewhat decent parents (who didnt named their son Take which means trash)

Azul's Parent's

As far as we heard of them, his parents seem to be really great. Not only are they NOT the reason why Azul has problems but they are present in his life and being lovely to him. So yeah Ursula likes them a lot

Jamil's Parents

Ok well they are not really terrible but they do made Jamil always stay in the shadow of Kalim (often even though he was clearly better at some things) and it may just be me but I think they even hurted him?? Again not sure if this is correct so feel free to correct me. Jafar doesnt hold them in great regard since for one he himself had to always serve someone who is not really smart amd second they are just stalling his talents which is not a good thing for parents to do.

Vil's father

We didnt saw much of him, but he supports Vil's goal and even said to him that he is fit to play the hero role in any movie. So yeah the evil queen thinks he is a good father

Idia's parents

They are a perfect example of "thinking someones terrible, but they turn out to be good" parents. It was really weird and good finding out that Idias and Orthos parents love both of them and that they are just not always there because of their jobs (which they didnt even asked for). The way they reassured Ortho that despite him beinh a humanoid robot of the "real" Ortho, they love him the same as they did with the other and consider him family. Hades was skeptical at first (as we all were) but he ends finding them great, because yeah he can relate on having a job he didnt even asked for

Malleu's parents

Not much can be said except they really loved him as he was an egg and that his mother was willing to die to protect him, and also Lilias parential love towards him being the reason he hatched is just so sweet. Maleficent feels empathy toward his parents but she also thinks Lilia did a great job at raising him (and Silver)

The TukTuk brought the Boys to Steam Station. Where they are supposed to take the train to who-knows-where... Hopefully to get to see Ji Ho.

They are already late and Sai, Jeb and Vlad went ahead to check in. Jack, the youngest (and strongest), is in charge for their luggage - and his good 'mate', Kiyoshi, who has a not-quite-here day today. The station master told them the train is departing soon from track 1.

Better not miss it! Sai: "Come on, Vlad." Poor Vlad is still deep in despair. He wasn't able to connect to Ji Ho through the bond since Ji Ho collapsed ingame. How is this possible? He didn't even hear Sai calling him. Jeb: "Vlad. Let's go. I'm sure we are going to see him soon, hm? And Noxee said he'll be fine." It's hard to keep the spirits up. The others are worried too, and they are blaming themselves for putting their therapies over the necessity to protect themselves against the Siren's Songs and Ji Ho's evil grandfather.

Jeb bought them some sweets from the trolley and a few seconds later, they already heard the Station Master whistle.

This is the Otherworld and this isn't an ordinary train. It just moved through the portal!

But it wasn't like travelling with warp speed or teleporting. After a while, they saw the countryside go by again.

Jack: "Ouf! These were the last crates!" And to the Station Master: "From which track is the train leaving again?"

Station Master: "Oh, I fear you just missed it." Jack: "Oh no... - eh, ok. From which track is the next train leaving then?" Station Master: "There is no other train anytime soon. Not this year, at last." What? ö.ö'

Time to bring the demon/diety out in Kiyoshi. They can't loose the others and be apart from them to not summon the prophecy Future Jeb made! So Jack tried to summon Kiyoshi: "Kiyoshi - I need you. Please - come back to the here and now - to your body - back to me! I need your help!" And really - Kiyoshi blinked twice - and seemed responsive. Jack told him what happened.

Kiyoshi seemed to understand and ran outside - to the TukTuk... Jack: "Uhm, yes. The TukTuk could teleport us. But we need Vlad and Ji Ho for this. It already had been hard enough for Vlad to bring us here all on his own."

Nonetheless Kiyoshi urged Jack to climb in. His eyes started to glow - and the TukTuk rose up in the air! It took them a while to locate the train so they could follow its track.

Sai, Jeb and Vlad had been so busy and in thoughts, they hadn't even missed them! Jeb was complaining that they still don't have any signal, so they are not leaving the Otherworld as it seems.

It had started to rain again a while ago and the seeing wasn't very good, so Sai first thought he was imagining things. But soon Vlad stood up and said: "Is this what I think it is?" It was! The TukTuk!

They scrambled up and ran over to the compartment next to theirs, where they supposed Jack and Kiyoshi - it was empty...

Saiwa: "I told you yesterday - I'm the worst leader of them all." Jeb: "No you're not. It happens. We are all out of our heads, hm?"

Jeb: "It will all be well. They'll follow us and meet us there." Whereever 'there' is...

Jack: "You are unbelievable!"

sits politely in your inbox. saw your post about jester lifecycles and wanted to ask if you have ideas for masked lifecycles. to me the dramatic masks you find as scrap used to be maskeds before, the hosts bodies simply ran out of "juice" and weren't useful anymore so the mask dropped off (the remaining corpse is scavenged by other creatures).

okay long post time!! I’m glad people like what I drag from my brain. (This is very long)

This post will cover topics such as; decay, insects (not in detail) and body horror. If you’re sensitive to things like that, I recommend looking the other way. Otherwise, enjoy however many words of my brainrot! :]

I like to think that the Masks themselves were made rather than born, albeit still organic. I’ve always been a fan of horrifying grotesque body horror scenarios. (User Pangolin-404 and their masked having webs of nerves that root inside of a host’s body, which is so fucking cool by the way, reminded me of this. I realize after writing this whole thing that my brain likes that more than expected.)

Honestly.,, I have a feeling that the masks themselves have been around for a very very long time, and new ones only ever appear when someone unfortunate is converted. There was a war (ingame lore!) roughly 500 years ago which may or may not have facilitated their creation.

In my eyes, Comedy masks are the ones that’ve naturally spawned (I.e, already with a host or otherwise lying on the ground.) I like to believe that the comedy masks are the ‘first’ of the masks to exist, which have been around since the beginning. The ‘first generation’, per se.

I also like to think that the Tragedy masks are made when someone is converted. They’re basically the supposed ‘second’ generation of masks. It goes like this; comedy masked converts someone, they become a tragedy masked. That tragedy masked converts someone else, and then, well... thus begins a cycle. (Ex. Comedy gen 1>Tragedy>TragedyG1>TragedyG2> etc etc..)

There are a relatively smaller amount of Comedy masked as a result of this, but their quantity is still very much immense. (Ex. For every 10 Tragedies, there is 7 Comedies). The reason for this is that, despite how well they can trick and capture prey, they are still oftentimes rotting and weakened from extended periods of isolation without access to new hosts. There is henceforth a greater number of Masks than there is the Masked. Comedy Masks tend to have a greater lifespan with their hosts, as they are very, very experienced and have gathered a significantly larger amount of knowledge. (They are still not entirely sentient, no matter how deeply convincing it may be. They have a measure of sentience, but not enough. This only ever occurs within Comedy Masks.)

I doubt that they ever actually die unless the mask itself is utterly destroyed, shattered or rendered otherwise unusable.

After this point is where more visceral topics are covered. However; with a host, that specific lifetime is pretty simple, I think. In the beginning, the corpse is fresh, probably still warm (and kept warm by presumably boiling blood) and likely behaves the same as any other human body. Even has a heartbeat and continues to breathe. Vocalizing is possible although usually incomprehensible (typically just a weird slurry of sounds). Finer control is possible, down to curling its toes or flexing individual muscles, along with blinking, moving its tongue, or focusing and unfocusing its eyes. (Please note; a majority of those features tend to be entirely lost during possession, either melted from the host’s body or simply consumed during the process of conversion.)

After a day or so, natural body functions begin to slowly and steadily cease as, despite the Mask’s support, the body has finally lost enough of its own blood and thus slowly shuts down. The Mask’s replacement blood—the substance rendered eternally boiling—is not a suitable replacement despite its apparent compatibility with regular humanoid blood regardless of the type. It carries too little oxygen and remains too thick to move properly through the veins without its host’s own biological assistance. Rigor mortis sets in to the majority of the body by the end of the second day, and the mask has to relearn how to use the body as it has new limitations and requires different efforts in order to move as it used to. Movements become clumsier (not just from the disorientation of change) and the fine control it once had is now unable to be achieved again without outside assistance. Vocalizations are now completely incomprehensible as the entity can no longer fine-tune the required muscles in order to produce the vaguest notion of words. (Not that it was able to speak beforehand.)

The body remains this way for about a week total before further decay begins to set in. The nature of the planet that the host was on beforehand does matter; if it was on Offense during this phase, it would proceed much faster in comparison to Dine or Rend. Temperature affects decay times. Masked typically tend to avoid hotter areas for this reason during this period of its host’s ‘lifetime’ (if it cares for or understands what is happening.)

By the third phase of its ‘lifetime’, the body begins to rot. Fortunately, no insects or decomposers infest the body; the natural heat that the Masked’s blood produces keeps anything untoward away, up to and including foreign materials, unwanted substances and undesirable parasites. Most biological poisons have no effect on Masked in general, typically being denatured on contact with its blood. Artificial poisons, venoms and other toxic substances do occasionally effect a Masked, although usually only in the region that it first made contact in. They do not have very good blood circulation.

The skin of the host cools down rather than remaining at the warm temperature it previously had, which is likely an instinctive response from the Masked as it senses the decay. By this point, points that usually chafe or experience too much friction begin to slowly rub away from the flesh and bone, scraping skin and viscera away with it. The Masked does not experience pain, only discomfort.

At the very end of its current lifetime, true rot begins. If the host is using an entirely sealed suit, blood begins to fill the inside. The corpse begins to slowly, steadily, achingly liquify. At one point it will start to drip from the helmet’s filters, pushed outward with every movement. The Masked can no longer run, as doing so will simply worsen its condition. It is now at risk of abandoning its host and awaiting the next.

If its current host is wearing an unsealed suit, flesh simply sloughs off and out of it as the body weakens. During this state, the Masked first feels pain. (It does not recognize the feeling, and does not usually react. There are cases wherein first or second generation Tragedy masks attempt to cry or otherwise vocalize with screams, keens, gasps or sobs, further obliterating their remaining throat. The third generations and those afterward display no such behaviors, however.)

At the very end of its host’s lifetime (where it is left as merely bone, softened flesh and tendon), the Mask finds a very quiet place. Oddly enough, they seek out small and warm areas, usually dry in nature. It is not uncommon for a Masked to give itself to a member of its Masquerade (a term used for groups of Masked, taken from another researcher (Pangolin-404!)) or to another entity that it has taken a liking to. Albeit, this ‘fondness’ is based upon the creature’s unwillingness to kill it, and its own lack of desire to kill the creature. Several cases have been documented wherein Masked have given themselves to a varying assortment of creatures; other Masked, Hoarding Bugs, Spore Lizards, Nutcrackers (which is a very peculiar interaction), Jesters (thought to be out of malice, seeing as Masks can devour a grown Jester if it is attached for a length of time), Coil-heads (incredibly strange), and Brackens, who occasionally partake in attaching the Masks to their bodies in return for the Mask’s boiling blood, forming a symbiotic relationship with as many as three at a time.

In the process of placing itself somewhere or giving itself to another entity, the Masked takes itself off of its host. The body remains beneath its control for a very short amount of time afterward, as its disconnected span of vein-like ‘roots’ within the body act upon its last commands. Shortly afterward, the body collapses and becomes entirely harmless, likely having placed the Mask somewhere, or having handed it to another entity.

A usual knock on your house door would alarmed you to greet the person as soon as possible. Next will be the wooden box that once you open it, it'll popping up a tiny dancer spinning in circle as a chirpy soft tunes began to playing. It's a musical box.

Listening to the musical box as you staring on the picture at the same time somehow made your heart feel so warm and fuzzy. You'll never realize how huge your smile is or how bright you can be, not until this picture. You also began to take a hint of Sampo appearance, he really are.. Attractive. His rather worried-like eyebrow and his deep emerald eyes gives off such a charm. The way his smiles formed, it always make you feel happy whenever you're looking at it.

You fell for him.

The next day, he'll visit you again. But this time, upon your realization of your own feelings, you dont want him to know about it. If he doesn't feel the same way, it might ruins your relationship with him and the most hurt part is that you'll be lonely again. You dont want to lose him..
