#sirius and regulus Christmas bonding time!!
allmpa · 1 year
Text
Sirius used to hate Christmas because it was just a horrible reminder of how fucked up his family was. His first Christmas with the Potters was the first time he ever felt parental love, and now that Reg also escaped his family, it’s his favorite time of year to share with his brother.

Regulus sneaks off to the Potters to give Sirius a secret Christmas gift and gets caught by Sirius and James who convince him to stay a bit longer, and every time Regulus is like, "I have to go" and Sirius is like, "It's Christmas Reg, cmon just a little longer, you can say that I dragged you here against your will or whatever, just stay a little for a bit longer." And Regulus, being loki helpless against his older brother, just agrees. And he begins to bond with everyone.
Eventually, Regulus accidentally stays the rest of the day and when he gets ready to finally leave, Effie is like, "Would you like to stay the night? It's quite late" and Monty just straight up says, "Would you like to stay forever?"
And that's how Regulus ran away. (Accidentally)

📸 BETTER THAN REVENGE
synopsis. after a fight with sirius, regulus comes to his girlfriend sulking and she decides to have a little talk with his older brother.
notes. regulus black x malfoy!reader
Tumblr media
you and regulus had many more similarities than anyone could guess just by simply looking at the two of you. the most obvious included your background — ancient, pureblood families, who were nuts about purity, both in slytherin, both richer than most of the hogwarts students together, and in everyone’s eyes you were petty, stubborn and pretentious.
you two were petty and seemed pretentious, but it wasn’t all that. the two of you both had siblings, who maybe cared about you in some way, but never showed it well enough for you to be sure they cared. you were sure sirius cared, but you weren’t sure if lucius did. your brother was far from being a family guy.
both you and regulus were also painfully ambitious, and it kind of made the two of you so close as you were paired to one group in slughorn’s classes, and to secure yourself a top spot, you had to work together. and so half a year later, you were planning a trip to france, lying next to each other on the bed in his dorm.
after that one summer everything has changed, and now you two were an official couple, though not many people knew since neither of you wanted to make a big deal out of it. the amount of classes you shared had shrunken since you took different ones, but it just made your bond stronger.
it all happened on a week before both of you were supposed to return to your respective houses (though, regulus would be staying at potter’s), you were wrapping your present for barty, when your boyfriend stormed into the room. pandora, who sat there with you, claimed she would leave you two alone and left. you could easily see that something happened from the look on his face.
“reg,” you began, eyebrows furrowed at his sudden appearance. “is everything alright, love?” a soft ask left your lips as he just laid down on your bed, face buried in a pillow.
silence filled your room right after you finished your sentence. it was time for you to just sigh quietly, putting a hand on his back and scratching it gently. “you know you can talk to me, right?” your soft tone and the sensation of your nails on his back made him grunt.
“i’m not leaving for christmas.” he stated, catching you a little off guard. you were sure it was about the upcoming christmas ball that slughorn threw and since you were invited, regulus was ought to go with you. “i… got into a fight with sirius, so either we make up or i’m gonna go to my parents.” now, he was looking at you with misery and sadness flickering in his eyes.
“he thinks james is more of a brother to him than i am.” regulus adds, his head now resting on top of your laps as you play with his hair, trying to comfort him at least a little. “and he says it’s not that big of a deal, since i consider evan and barty my brothers and i’d probably say that they’re more of brothers to me than he is, but that’s not true.”
his words made your heart ache. it was clear to everyone in your friend group (including remus, who often just tagged along) to know how much regulus needed sirius’ validation, how much he needed to be reassured that he doesn’t hate him as much as regulus thought he did.
“i know we haven’t talked until he moved out, but it still hurts.” he whispered, not even looking you in the eyes. “and he doesn’t even recognize how much he means to me. he’s the only one in our entire family that matters more than everything. i got his initials and constellations tattooed and he thinks i would choose barty and evan over him?”
“you’re brother is an idiot, and i mean it.” you murmured, showering his head with kisses. if regulus was in his usual mood, he would say he just acts like an idiot, but now? he didn’t even want to defend him. “i’ll stay with you. i’d go nuts if i had to spend a minute with lucius.” you say softly, fingers running through his hair.
it took you a few more minutes to comfort him enough to leave your dorm for his evening practice, and even though you were supposed to finish packing your presents before christmas. you had to talk to one, annoying gryffindor, who was no other than sirius black.
getting into their common room was easy, lily, friend of a friend of yours, let you in after hearing your explanation, showing you how to get into sirius’ dorm that he shared with james, remus and peter. “one of you better hold me or i might kill your friend.” you let out, looking specifically remus, who looked at you with a glint of surprise.
“what did he do again?” lupin asked, his expression scolding. “what’re you doin’ here, malfoy?” peter began, but before he could elaborate, remus put a hand on his shoulder and shook his head as you looked for the perfect words.
“how can you be such an asshole, black?” you hissed, the end of your wand pointed at his throat. “one time you’re all on being the best older brother you can, but next time all i see in yourself is my brother, and believe me, that’s the furthest from a compliment.”
“i’m not done, yet.” your teeth gritted, eyes narrowed at him. “he’d never choose anyone over you, yet you’d always choose him —” you looked at james for half a second, then turned your eyes to sirius, again. “— over your own brother, who’d jump into flames just if you asked him to? unbelievable.” you sighed, putting your wand down, sliding it into your boot. “and you know what’s the worst in all that? that i wish he’d pick anyone else over you, but he won’t, because he can’t even get mad at you for not choosing him, he’s just sad.”
the atmosphere in the room is so tense, someone could cut it with knife. “you’re an idiot for making regulus feel so little about himself, and y’all are idiots for letting him.” another sight left your lips as your eyes were locked with sirius. “maybe even regulus will let you treat him like shit, but i won’t, black. i’ll make sure to haunt your dreams and turn them into nightmares, i can promise you that.” you gave him your most ironical smile. “i’m a malfoy, don’t underestimate me, cutie pie.” you sent him a wink,
“protective girlfriend, huh?” remus chuckled as you passed him, giving you a high-five. “oh you bet, lupin.” and you left, sirius almost shamless at your sudden outburst, but… it was quite impressive — though, he’d never admit it.
you haven’t seen neither of them till the next morning at breakfast, when they walked to the great hall together, talking about something until each of them got to their respective tables. “what did you do?” regulus asked, sitting on the bench beside you.
“what?” you asked with a sweet smile, nudging him lightly with your elbow. “just had a small talk with sirius, why?”
“a small talk? with the tip of your wand pressed against his throat?” you nodded at his words, sending him a fake-puzzled look. “you know i love you?” he bit back a smile, leaning closer to whisper those words right to your ear.
“oi, malfoy.” barty started, interrupting your somehow intimate moment with regulus. “theoretically, if i paid you, could you do that to me as well? that must’ve looked bloody hot.” crouch grinned, getting a light punch on the shoulder from your boyfriend.
“i would rather not touch you, crouch. i don’t know where the hell have you been.” you laughed, your head resting on regulus’ shoulder as his arm was wrapped around your waist. “don’t worry, baby. if any of them bothers you, i can fight.” you winked at him playfully.

ONE TWO THREE
Oh, all that I did to try to undo it. All of my pain and all your excuses, I was a kid but I wasn't clueless. Someone who loves you wouldn't do this.
All of my past, I tried to erase it, but now I see, would I even change it? Might share a face and share a last name, but we are not the same.
December 25th, 1976
You hated Christmas.
Not because you despised the holiday, really, but because you hate what happens during the holiday.
Your parents would always gather up the whole family at Christmas; it was a tradition that originated with your family’s ancestors. You and your brothers were forced to wear itchy dress robes and needed to be on your best behavior. For as long as you can remember, the Black family Christmas gathering was a load of hippogriff dung.
You spent the whole day mingling with your older cousins, which you absolutely dreaded each and every time you had to spend time with them, especially Bellatrix. You already had to spend every day seeing your cousins at Hogwarts, and the last thing you wanted was to spend Christmas with them too.
The only sensible cousin you had was Andromeda; you loved her like a sister, but she wasn’t welcome in the family anymore since she married the muggle-born Ted Tonks. You missed her dearly, but you still exchanged letters from time to time, you still preferred Andromeda's company rather than Narcissa's or Bellatrix's.
The gathering went well—at least the first half of it.
You were sitting on your bed, peacefully reading a book, when your mother called everyone to the Black family library. You were confused; your family never used the library for gatherings this large. You reluctantly make your way up to the library, goosebumps littering your body as eerie silence enveloped the whole house. When you opened the doors to the library, your eyes visibly widened.
All of your family members were already inside, along with masked figures in dark cloaks—death eaters—standing in a circle around another hooded figure. Before you even knew what was happening, your eldest brother, Sirius, was thrown into the middle of the room.
“He is ready, my Lord.” Your father, Orion, bowed in front of the hooded figure—the Dark Lord. “He is sixteen, just as you requested.”
“I requested nothing, Orion. I required him to be at least sixteen and willing to join in the ranks of my death eaters.” The Dark Lord’s cold voice echoed in your ears, sending shivers down your spine. “I do not intend to use the Imperius curse on every last follower into understanding and obedience.”
“Perhaps a little persuasion is useful, my Lord?” Bellatrix purred lovingly at the Dark Lord, making you want to vomit right there and then. Voldemort raised a hand, and your cousin’s crazed laughter echoed throughout the room, her wand aimed at Sirius. “Crucio!”
You felt sick to your stomach as you watched in horror as your brother’s screams rang in your ears. Sirius looked defiant, refusing to bow down to the Dark Lord. You felt paralysed, unable to move or do anything to help your brother. Tears started to sting your eyes. You wanted to scream and shout. You wanted to grab your older brother and just run away from all of the madness.
You suddenly felt arms wrap around your shoulder, the familiar warmth enveloping you despite the horrors in front of you. “Starlight, look at me.”
You looked up, meeting your second-eldest brother’s soft eyes. “Reggie…..”
“I know, I know, just don’t let your guard down, okay, starlight?” Regulus whispered, kissing your forehead as he hugged you tighter. “It’ll be okay; Sirius will be okay.”
You watched helplessly as Sirius thrashed on the hardwood floor, screaming as the curse coursed through his body. Despite Regulus’ assurances—which you knew were pointless—tears flowed down your cheeks as you hoped that this was all just a bad dream. Sirius didn’t deserve any of this.
 “Crucio!”
Still, Sirius did not break.
“He’s stubborn, Orion, Walburga,” Voldemort sneered, his red eyes glinting in the dim light. “Perhaps we should instruct the boy on the consequences of defiance.”
“Never!” Sirius screamed as he struggled to breathe, blood spilling out of his nose from being knocked over by the cruciatus.
“The young heir must be taught a lesson.’’ you heard your uncle Cygnus say, earning the laughs of agreement from everyone else.
Sirius panted heavily, licking blood from his lip before spitting it onto the rug. “Never….in a million….years.”
“Crucio! Crucio!” Bellatrix was clearly eager to hurt Sirius, enjoying the sight of your brother writhing in pain under her mercy. It made your blood boil; you wanted to just rip Bellatrix’s throat out of her neck.
“Kill the spare.” Voldemort’s snake-like eyes landed on you and Regulus. Your skin crawled as you felt the gazes of everyone in the room fall on you and your brother.
“No!” Your mother screamed and fell to her knees in front of the Dark Lord. “My Lord, I beg you, kill this traitor instead.” She gestured to Sirius's shaking, bleeding, sweating body. “Regulus and Y/n are as noble and pure as you could ever require. My better children will willingly seek your approval and bear your mark as soon as they come of age.”
Suddenly, everything went silent. You could hear your own heartbeat pounding in your ears. Every breath you took was a struggle as you waited for Voldemort's decision. Finally, he turned his gaze away from you, causing you to release the breath you didn't realise you were holding. The tension in the air was thick, and it felt like no one dared to move.
After what felt like an eternity, Voldemort spoke. “Very well, I will accept your offer. Bring them once they are of age. Do what you please to punish this Gryffindor.”
Regulus had his hand intertwined with yours, giving it an assuring squeeze. “It’s going to be alright, don’t worry.”
As Voldemort's followers, along with your family members, filed out of the room, you quickly rushed and kneeled down beside Sirius’ trembling body, pulling him into a hug, tears streaming down your face.
You choked back tears as you tilted his head so that he could look you straight in the eye. “Siri, look at me,” you choked out, your heart breaking at the sight of your injured older brother. “Open your eyes, please. Sirius, please look at me.”
“Hi, my little starlight,” he rasped, his grey eyes slowly opening to look up at you.
“You’re alright, I got you, you're safe,” You kissed your brother’s forehead, the taste of blood sticking to your lips. “Reggie,” you forced yourself to say through tears. “Help me take Siri back to his room.”
Regulus quickly nodded as he helped you and Sirius out of the library, his arm wrapped around Sirius’ waist to offer support while the two of you brought him back to his room. Once you settled him on his bed, you started to clean his wounds as best as you could. Regulus helped as well, casting healing spells on Sirius to ease his pain.
“I'm sorry,” Sirius said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I brought this on all of you.”
“It's not your fault, Siri,” you reassured him, tears still spilling from your eyes despite wiping them away just seconds ago. “None of this is your fault.”
Regulus handed Sirius a vial of dark red liquid. “Drink this—it's blood replenishing potion. I nicked it from Slughorn’s stash before we left for the holidays. Drink up, you'll feel a bit better.”
“We'll always be here for you, Siri,” you murmured, holding your brother's hand tightly. “No matter what, we'll be here for you, together.”
You grabbed the vial from your brother's hand, uncorked it and force fed it to your eldest brother. Sirius grimaced at the coppery taste, but swallowed nonetheless. After some time, Sirius was finally able to breathe easier, and his pain lessened. He looked at you and Regulus, the same gray eyes mirroring yours.
“Thank you,” Sirius mumbled. “I don't know what I'd do without both of you.”
“We’re siblings, it’s what siblings do—we protect each other,” Regulus said, a smile on his lips, leaning against the wall as he watched over you and Sirius with a determined look in his eyes. “We'll be okay, I promise. We just need to stick together and look out for each other, no matter what.”
“Yes, we will,” you agreed, giving Sirius a reassuring smile. “We'll find a way to get through this together.”
Tumblr media
You lay awake in your room, your thoughts drifting back and forth to what had just happened earlier today.
Sirius didn’t do anything to deserve pain and torture. Sirius was the best big brother to you and Regulus; he always made sure the two of you were safe. Whenever either you or Regulus got into trouble, Sirius would do something worse, so he was the one who’d get punished instead. You’d always ask him why he did what he did, but he’d always say: your skin is far better than mine, starlight.
You were grateful for Sirius’ protection from your parents through the years; he and Reggie were your rocks. You wouldn’t have made it without your brothers; you loved them more than anything in the world.
It hurt you when Sirius first went to Hogwarts. You were scared he’d forget you and Regulus while he was at school. Sirius assured the two of you that it wouldn’t happen, but somehow it did. It didn’t happen until Regulus went to Hogwarts, leaving you alone to fend for yourself.
Sirius was sorted into Gryffindor; at first he was absolutely terrified, but in the end he embraced his inner Gryffindor—much to the disappointment of the whole family. Your parents specifically warned you and Regulus not to talk to Sirius while he was at Hogwarts; they wanted the two of you to cut ties with your eldest brother—just because he was a Gryffindor. Of course, you didn’t cut ties. Sirius was your brother; you weren’t just going to throw that away because of him defying tradition. But since Sirius was the disappointment, it fell on Regulus’ shoulders to become the proper heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black.
Sirius would send letters, telling you and Regulus about his adventures while being a first year. He told the two of you about his friends, how he was excited for Reg to come to Hogwarts, and how he wanted so badly to have his siblings in Gryffindor too. It created a rift between your brothers, a rift created by your parents’ beliefs that were forced upon Regulus.
When Sirius came back from his first year, Regulus was distant from Sirius, unlike before. Of course, Sirius got worried for his little brother and asked you, but you didn’t know either what was happening because you and Regulus spent the whole year away from each other—with the exception of him sneaking into your room to comfort you when you were punished for not taking your etiquette lessons seriously, like the proper pureblood lady that you are.
The summer before Regulus’ first year and Sirius’ second year was spent in silence. The three of you locked up in your rooms until Sirius decided to be a proper Black. It was torture for you because it was slowly pitting your siblings against each other. The ideas your mother instilled upon you and Regulus were horrid and absolutely disgusting to hear from a mother’s lips—which you knew from an early age—that your mother was not like other mothers. Your aunt Druella was not like your mother—she was kind and loved her daughters—so it confused you as a child: why did Mother not love us?
Your brothers drifted apart completely when Regulus was sorted into Slytherin. Sirius stopped talking to Regulus completely—which broke his heart, but he wouldn’t tell that to Sirius; only you knew—and ignored Regulus for as long as he could while at school. It didn’t help much because Regulus became friends with Severus Snape, the person Sirius despised at Hogwarts.
Still, your brothers sent you letters to make you feel that you weren’t alone. But over the course of that year, the letters slowly stopped. At first, you thought it was because they were busy, but that wasn’t the case. They simply got caught up in their personal lives, forgetting you in the process. You couldn't hate them for it; they were entitled to their own lives outside of you; you were only their sister; you couldn’t demand attention.
You felt alone for the first time in your life. Your brothers left you alone to fend for yourself. You felt betrayed and abandoned by the people you loved most in the world. The months without them were hell. You spent all of your days being trained to be a proper wife when you came of age. You were barely eleven and training to be a wife—the only thing you’re destined to be, according to your family's standards.
When Christmas of that year came, you couldn’t recognise your brothers. Back then, one of you couldn’t be seen alone; it was always the three of you glued to each other's sides. The moment Sirius and Regulus stepped out of the floo, they immediately went to their respective rooms, not even batting an eye at each other or you either. Though it hurt, you were determined to bring back your family—your family, your brothers—and you weren’t going to let your parents’ words affect anything you had with your brothers.
You snuck into their rooms, trying to persuade them to bunk in your room, for old times’ sake, please! But all of your efforts were futile, as neither of them wanted to be in each other's presence other than yours. Well, at least they had common ground, you. Days passed, and they headed back to Hogwarts, leaving you once more. At that point, you came to terms that it would not be easy to bring your family back, but you at least had to try.
Finally, the time for you to attend Hogwarts finally came. And by some miracle, your brothers got along temporarily. It was their little sister’s first year at Hogwarts—they weren’t going to just ignore that and not be excited. Your brothers told you everything you needed to know while the three of you bunked in bed, just like old times.
As soon as you stepped onto the Hogwarts Express, Sirius and Regulus hovered over you like hawks—literally. You were annoyed, but you wouldn’t have it in any other way. Your brothers assured you that they’d still love you no matter which house you got sorted into; you were still their little starlight.
Lo and behold, you were sorted into Slytherin, like every other Black in your family. Your parents were ecstatic; they sent you an owl—a literal eagle owl that was bigger than your head—along with a box of Honeydukes sweets. Regulus was happy that you were sorted in the same house as him and was already eager to show you around the Slytherin common room. Sirius, on the other hand, was happy for you, but he was disappointed that his sister got sorted into the same house generations of family members were in—even Andromeda was in Slytherin—but you assured your eldest brother that nothing was ever going to change between the two of you.
Surprisingly, your Hogwarts years were a blast. By the time you were in your third year, you were at the top of your class and had friends in every year and house. You were popular amongst the crowd—not that you’d ever admit it—you were known as the kindest Black that ever walked the halls of Hogwarts. You made lots of friends in Slytherin and even more in Gryffindor, without your parents’ knowing, of course, because your tattletale of a cousin, Bellatrix, and with the extension of Narcissa, had already graduated prior to your first year.
Sirius and Regulus were extremely protective of you when boys started flocking over you. You had the Black family genes—full lips, aristocratic features, long black hair, and grey eyes—there was no denying that you were beautiful. But there was one boy who caught your eye, which Sirius would not approve of. Despite the fact that you had boys asking you out from left to right, you couldn’t compete with a certain redhead with eyes green as emeralds.
You loved James Potter more than just a friend.
James was kind, funny, brave, and fiercely loyal. Even though he had an ego the size of the Black Lake, he had a golden heart to match it. James never treated you like how other boys treated you; he treated you like a person, not like some trophy to be won. James had an effect on you no one else had; he made you feel like a lovesick girl whenever you’re near him—but you won’t show or tell anyone about it though—butterflies fill your stomach in a frenzy each time he looks at you. But he was your brother’s best friend, meaning he was off limits. There isn’t a written or verbal rule about that, but you knew Sirius would flip if you ever dated his best friend, which is a long shot because James Potter was hopelessly in love with Lily Evans. You hated it, but you didn’t have a choice; Lily was your friend too, and you couldn’t hate her for the things that weren't even her fault.
All of a sudden, you heard the floorboards creak from outside your bedroom, snapping you out of your thoughts. You slowly got out of bed to investigate, confused. Who the hell is up at three in the morning? Kreacher definitely doesn’t stay up this late. You placed your hand on the doorknob, slowly turning it, making sure to be as quiet as humanly possible, only to see your older brother creeping out of his room. Sirius stopped in his tracks when he noticed you, a guilty look plastered on his face, a look you knew oh so well.
“Go back to bed, starlight,” Sirius said, trying to act nonchalant but ultimately failing.
“Where are you going? Why do you have a bag packed? Are you leaving us?” You asked, your lips quivering at the sight of a bag slung over his shoulder.
Sirius sighed, walking towards you. “I’m sorry, starlight, but I have to leave,” he said gently, his breath wavering as he reached for your hand. “If I don’t, I’ll go insane.”
“What about us? Me? Reggie?”
“We can get through this, Siri; please don’t leave us…” you begged, pulling his hands away from your cheeks.
“I’ll write every day. I promise...” Sirius said, cupping your face in his hands. “It’s not safe for me here.” His chest heaved slightly. “You saw what happened, starlight—you know they’ll force me to take the mark, and you know I can’t have that,” he said, his expression solemn. “I have to leave; they’ve finally pushed me too far.”
Suddenly, the floorboards creaked again. Regulus stood behind Sirius, a confused look plastered on his face at the sight of you with tears in your eyes. “What's happening, Sirius, Y/n?” Regulus asked, worry evident in his voice.
Sirius froze at the sound of his voice. He felt you flinch in his arms. He turned to face Regulus, his eyes pleading and watery. “I’m leaving, little brother. I don’t belong here…with you lot,” he said, choking back his tears.
You buried your head back into Sirius’ chest, holding back your sobs. Your legs felt weak, and you had to grab onto your brother for support.
“You're only sixteen, Sirius,” Regulus said, his voice breaking. “You can’t just leave; you'll be disowned, Sirius.”
“I can't stay, Reggie,” Sirius replied, his voice strained. His eyes roamed over his brother's face, the pain and desperation evident in his eyes. “Mother never cared for me; father would rather die than acknowledge me.”
You looked up at Sirius in horror, tears running down your cheeks. He was right. Your parents hated him. They treated him like scum, all because he wanted to be a good and decent person. “Please, Sirius, don’t leave. We need you. I need you.”
Sirius sighed, his heart breaking at the sight of his crying sister. “I know, I know, but I can’t stand another day here. There’s so much going on—so much they expect me to do, but I can’t take this life.”
You hugged your brother tightly, silently casting a silencing charm as you let tears fall from your eyes. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Your fucking parents, Voldemort, fucking ruined it all.
“What about Y/n? It's our job to protect her!” Regulus cried out, trying to reason with Sirius, his eyes blazing. “What? You’re just going to leave?”
“I know, little brother, and that’s why I need you to protect her for me,’’ Sirius said slowly, his voice barely audible.
Regulus narrowed his eyes at his older brother. “Sirius, you’re a Gyrffindor! Be fucking brave, for once!” Regulus hissed angrily, fists clenched, and his lips curled into a scowl.
“For once?” Sirius snapped angrily, moving away from you. “I have been brave for you and Y/n for as long as any of us can remember, Regulus!”
Regulus’ expression morphed into anger; his eyes were blazing with fury and resentment. Sirius took a deep breath, but before he could say anything more, you piped up. “Reg...please.”
“No, Y/n! He’s only thinking about himself-”
“No, you're only thinking about yourself—what about me? MY future—how would you have expected me to become one of Voldemort’s minions and settle down and have children with a woman I don't even love?! I don't want their kind of life, not anymore,” Sirius yelled, his voice full of anger.
You flinched at the venom in Sirius’ voice. “Please, Sirius, don’t leave.”
“I’m sorry starlight, but I have to. I can’t be a part of this twisted family and the Dark Lord's reign of terror. I can’t keep pretending to be someone I’m not.” Sirius said, his voice filled with pain and determination
“Where will you go? ” You whispered, looking up at Sirius.
“The Potters, James said his parents would take me in.”
Regulus’ eyes filled with anger again. “You're choosing James Potter over your own brother and sister?” Regulus hissed angrily, pulling you away from Sirius.
“Yes!” Sirius yelled, his eyes turning cold. “I'm choosing freedom and life over this twisted family and the Dark Lord! I can't stay, Regulus, and you know it. Don't try and stop me!”
“You've made your choice,” Regulus spat, grabbing your hand. “Come on, starlight.”
Sirius watched as you followed Regulus, his heart breaking. He could feel his eyes burning and his tears threatening to fall.
“Starlight..?” Sirius called out, taking a step after you and Regulus. At the word, you both stopped. For a moment, Regulus turned to face Sirius, and then he took his younger sister by the shoulders.
“Stop crying for him, Y/n, he’s weak.” Regulus spat harshly.
And with that, Sirius slung his bag over his shoulder and walked to the Floo in your father’s study. “Potter Manor!”
You and Regulus stood there in silence, watching helplessly as you let out a choked sob. “Sirius, please don’t go,” you pleaded, but your voice was drowned by the sound of the flames that engulfed him, disappearing from your sight.
Regulus pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly as you cried. “I’m sorry, starlight,” Regulus whispered, his voice breaking. “I'll never leave you, I swear.”
You clung to your brother, and tears streamed continuously down your face as you realised that everything had changed. Your brother, Sirius, the one who always protected you, was gone. And everything was going to be different from now on.
Now you have another reason to hate Christmas.

okay, there is no way that Sirius was just, supportive of jegulus
nope.
in my head, james and regulus got together while Sirius and Regulus had a terrible relationship still, and Sirius got super fucking pissed
because i also think the Marauders had agreed to not involve themselves with Regulus because of the bad relationship between Sirius and Regulus
so i think this was like The Prank level of betrayal for Sirius
because he thought he could trust james and then james goes and dates his brother who he’s TOLD him he had a bad relationship with and he’s TOLD him why.
so i think they didn’t tell sirius and sirius walked in on them snogging one time and absolutely blew up, first, he left, then told Remus and then confronted james.
i also think it split the group in half, because i think peter wouldn’t have wanted to pick a side, i think he would’ve been more like “yeah james that’s really shitty of you, but sirius you’re overreacting” and i think remus would’ve sided more with sirius since he knew what the feeling of betrayal was like (plus he was obviously dating sirius at the time)
i also think lily found out, and lily had a crush on james and she really thought he liked her because of his ‘endless flirting’, so i think she would’ve been pissed that he led her on, which would’ve led to the gryffindor girls and the skittles getting into the split too.
I think marlene, alice, and mary would’ve 1000% sided with lily bc james kinda led her on, but the skittles (pandora, dorcas, barty, evan) would’ve been against the gryf girls and sirius and remus bc they’re close with reg and stuff
i also feel like that would’ve led to an argument between marlene and dorcas which ended with them breaking up for maybe a month
so i think for christmas break sirius refused to stay with james because james invited regulus and bc sirius was still pissed off, and since peter didn’t want to choose a side i think he just had remus come over for break instead of having sirius over, or going to james’ like planned.
So for that christmas break sirius promised remus he wouldn’t go back home so uncle alphard was going on vacation and let sirius stay in his empty house for break
i think it also took a little bit of time for sirius to accept jegulus, and in that time he had to reform his bond with regulus before he could happily accept it

explaining my dr?
soo i am shifting to a marauders dr. i’ve decided not to have magic in this dr purely because i feel like i wouldn’t be good at it. i also scripted the traumatic backstory help but if it helps all the bad stuff has already happened to its only up from here :)
so in my dr i’m sirius’ twin sister and regulus’ older sister. I’ve scripted that we were born in france. our parents divorced when i was about 3 years old and that me and orion moved to the netherlands and that my brothers and my mother moved to england. we always went back for holidays so i know the language and i know my brothers. in the netherlands i started figure skating and i was pretty good. i did have the bad experiences bc figure skating is a toxic sport and orion sucks.
in the netherlands ive met my best friend mara when i was about 5 years old. she’s kinda like the childhood best friend who moved away but a bit later we found each other again and now we’re better then ever.
but anyways uuh when i was in my middle adolescence (14/17) i was switched to pairs figure skating and in on of the competitions my partner and i did this one lift and he fell which made me fall harder on my head. which made me have to learn everything again (which i’m doing in the present time in my dr). this whole thing might sound dramatic but i did it so i’m a bit famous in the community but i still want to learn everything bc in my head it sounds unrealistic that when i shift there i just know how to do everything. but i still have the muscle memory so i can learn everything faster.
a bit later orion died and i moved to england to live with sirius, regulus and walburga. except for my brothers life kinda sucked here. but sirius was always talking about his friends at school. and the next year i also went to the school (hogwarts yay). i make another post about the school system in my dr bc it’s a bit different. but turns out mara is also in this school and i’m her roommate. in hogwarts i kinda met everyone.
i did script the last dramatic thing where the thing happened that made us run away from walburga. me, sirius and reggie all ran away together to james. i went back to hogwarts first to be with remus for our bonding moments. and bc it’s still christmas holiday everyone is away so hogwarts is quieter.
this is pretty much where i’m at now. when i shift it will be friday and everyone will be coming back on saturday with a coming back party in the evening. there is a private figure skating rink where i practice either by myself or with matteo (yes matteo riddle i’ve scripted matteo, theo and enzo in this timeline). me and remus are already together in a very happy and healthy relationship. me and mara are still best friends. and my relationship with my brothers are still good.

Blackeclipse for the soul
AO3 link if you prefer to read there Part 17; Part 18; Part 19; Part 20; Part 21
Remus was crying.
He couldn't help it. Every time the tears stopped, he looked over to his Mam, and more rolled down his cheeks.
Remus was also smiling.
His face hurt with how wide his smile was stretching. Even as he ate, the corners of his mouth refused to turn down in the slightest.
His boys brought her here just to make him happy.
James had, obviously, orchestrated the whole thing. His parents and Regulus may have been in on the plan, but this had James written all over it.
As soon as he and Mam had parted, Remus had gone straight to James, hugging him as well. The taller boy had held him just as tight as Mam had.
James pet his hair and murmured, "Happy Christmas, Moonbeam."
By the time the group had finished eating and moved to the sitting room, Remus honestly couldn't recall what had been for dinner. He sat on the loveseat with Mam; James and Regulus shared the couch with Dad and Maan.
At some point, the tears had finally stopped. They played charades; Dad coming to perch on the arm of the loveseat to team up with Remus and Mam.
Dad and James went all out. Jumping and flailing and making everyone laugh. It took a few rounds for Regulus to warm up, but even his not-so-enthusiastic movements gained their team lots of points.
At one point, Remus called, “That’s cheating! You can’t use the Bond to give hints!”
James gave him a too-innocent look and Regulus just arched an eyebrow.
Dad agreed, “Yes, we call shenanigans! And not just because you’re winning.”
Maan huffed, “Well, if you’re going to be such a sore loser, then I guess it’s time to switch teams. Come over here Hope dear, Adults against the children.”
~~~
It was wonderful.
It was even better when, after they called it a night, he learned that Mam would be staying with them until Christmas.
They invited her to join their shopping trip in Diagon the next day, and she gladly accepted. She had always loved seeing magic. Lyall never used it much at home, so she was always eager to see wixen spaces.
As they were getting ready for bed that night, Remus gave James another bone-crushing hug. When Regulus came back from the bathroom, he pulled the taller boy into the embrace as well.
He almost started crying again when Regulus whispered, "Anything for you, Mon rayon de Lune."
~~~
They had another early start the next morning. Hope came in to wake the boys for breakfast at 7, much to Regulus' dismay. He cheered right up when James brought him more of Sirius' clothes though.
The trousers were red, this time, and the shirt was black with an angel on the front. James also gave him a black and white long-sleeve to wear underneath.
They ate another full Euphemia-made breakfast and set off through the floo. Remus held tight to Mam and cleared the soot from them both when they stepped into the Leaky Cauldron.
Maan and Dad accompanied them, heading off with James to some secret location. Regulus was told to stay with Remus and Mam making the two boys look at each other knowingly.
Remus made sure to take his mother into any store she wanted. Regulus followed along, discreetly buying things for the both of them when they weren't looking.
At one point, Remus quietly asked Regulus to purchase a magic locket for him, since he couldn't very well do it without Mam noticing. Little did Remus know, Regulus had already planned on buying it, but he nodded dutifully.
They ran into James outside of the jewelry store and Regulus managed to sneakily hand off the shopping bags he had been hiding to Monty. He smiled and winked at Regulus, shrinking the bags and putting them in his robe pocket.
They stopped for lunch at a cafe near the Magical Menagerie. Hope spent the whole meal watching the kneasel kittens in the window. James, seeing the look on Regulus' face, had to lean over and tell him that Lyall would not take kindly to Mam bringing one home.
Regulus rolled his eyes but acquiesced that it probably wasn't the smartest idea. Still, he hinted to James, "I suppose she'll have plenty to take home anyway."
James laughed at him, but his eyes widened comically when he realized that Regulus wasn't kidding.
Regulus shrugged, whispering, "They deserve it. And I plan on spending as much of the Black family fortune while I still can."
James smiled at that, understanding both the inclination to spoil the Lupins and Regulus' need to assure himself that he hadn't been disinherited yet. He took Regulus' hand and squeezed it under the table.
Regulus squeezed back, not letting go. He was slowly becoming bolder in his affections, but James was okay with waiting. They were only teenagers, after all. They had their whole lives ahead of them.
~~~
After lunch, Maan and Dad took them to a Christmas fair.
Maan and Dad’s robes blended in well with the long muggle coats like the one Mam was wearing. James and Remus pulled out their hats and scarves, and Regulus found gloves and a hat in the pockets of his—Sirius’—jacket.
They passed reindeer, carolers, and a Santa who was set up to take pictures with the little ones.
After a long debate, Mam, Maan, and Dad convinced the boys to get in line for a picture as well. James actually managed to get Regulus to sit on Santa’s lap, but it cost him dearly.
When Santa tried to ask them what they wanted for Christmas, they looked at each other, then at their parents, and agreed that they didn’t need anything more.
Well, nothing that Santa could give them, anyway.
Afterward, Maan and Dad gave James quite a bit of muggle money and shooed the boys off to play games. They all agreed to meet back up for hot chocolate in a few hours.
James, the chaser, was a natural at the tossing games. Regulus, the seeker, excelled at the speed games. Remus, the genius, was a master at the logic and strength games.
By the time they met back up with their parents, each boy had been gifted at least three or four stuffed animals by the other two. Remus gave his mother a large polar bear stuffie that he won—had Regulus win—just for her since polar bears were her absolute favorite.
After drinking peppermint hot chocolate, which Regulus proclaimed was the best he had ever tasted, they made their way back to the Leaky Cauldron and flooed home.
Dinner was waiting for them upon their arrival. After such an adventure-filled day, everyone agreed to forego the after-dinner games and they all headed straight for bed.
~~~
The next day was filled with wrapping paper, tape, ribbons, and bows. Regulus was shockingly bad at wrapping and James was shockingly good.
After they had each other's presents wrapped, Regulus and Remus agreed to let James wrap the rest.
James loved wrapping.
Every present, big and small, had neat creases, artful ribbons and bows, and a beautifully hand-written—by Regulus— tag.
Remus was in charge of distracting the parents and transporting all of the presents down the stairs and under the tree. This left the other two boys plenty of time to wrap the extra presents Regulus had picked up for him and Mam in Diagon. James agreed that those presents could be from his parents since he already knew what they had gotten Remus.
By the time everything was wrapped, it was time for lunch. The family went out again to eat. They flooed to Hogsmeade, this time, and got a table at the Three Broomsticks.
Hope was delighted by both the butterbeer and Madam Rosmerta. The women spent a long time going on about how wonderful Remus was, causing said boy to try disappearing under the table.
They took Mam to Zonko's and Honeydukes where Regulus, refusing to hear her protests, bought her every sweet she looked at.
Remus decided right then that he loved Regulus Black, just for how wonderful he was being to Mam. He knew Regulus didn't want to hear it, so he settled for crushing him in a hug instead.
They managed to show her the Shrieking Shack as well. James distracted his parents while Regulus told Mam about being animagi, as well as the nest and picnic they had made for the last Full.
It was Mam's turn to hug Regulus then, unable to voice her gratitude for how well they were treating her boy. She crushed James into a hug as well, leaving his parents a touch confused.
They returned to Potter Manor not long after that, having dinner and playing Monopoly—Regulus won in a landslide—before calling it a night.
"Thank you," Remus whispered into the dark after the three had settled in for the night.
"Nothing to thank us for, Moonbeam," James assured him, planting a kiss to his temple.
Regulus squeezed him tighter. "You had better get used to it; we are going to spoil you rotten."

for Orion and Walburga save the family challenge: Sirius' reaction would definitely depend on when in the school year the incident happens
if it happens closer to the beginning of the year, he's already basically soul-bonded himself to James and is happily learning everything he possibly can about everything not pureblood related, but also stressing a bit because he's 12 and he sorted Gryffindor and his parents are not very happy about that and Christmas break is gonna be hella awkward
but he's just having a pretty good time being away from his family for the first time ever (mostly, Narcissa is also at Hogwarts) until the incident with the artifact and a week later he gets the first of a series of increasingly strange letters from Regulus:
Dear Sirius,
Mother… hugged me? And Father told me I did well during spell practice earlier today. I looked through the library but I cannot find whatever curse or spell they might be under. I ask for your insight or advice.
Respond immediately,
Regulus
FJSLGHSKGSHJKGSJKHKJSFKGHJKSF
sirius is going to have a lot of emotions about that - i could see his first reaction (after the confusion) being related to his parents being disappointed that he went to gryffindor and settling on regulus being the hope of the family instead. before he can figure out how to respond to regulus's letter, he gets another one from regulus about how mother said gryffindor wasn't really THAT bad and father agreed and then said that it would even be alright if regulus went there too????? and then they asked how his day was???????????
sirius is coming to the conclusion that perhaps regulus is the one under some sort of spell because he is CLEARLY not in touch with reality at the moment
AND THEN HIS FIRST LETTER FROM HIS PARENTS ARRIVES.
(eventually bellatrix also writes to narcissa about the WEIRD SHIT HAPPENING AT HOME)

Regulus AU update: Sirius has married for love, Regulus has married a friend he made in Romania when he was on the run. He knows she will be able to help him find horcruxes (plot reasons), and can keep her mouth shut.
They’re literally going undercover, polyjuice potion and all, and slip in and out of Grimmauld as they please. Meanwhile Sirius and his wife are under house arrest bc they made noise about Umbridge after Harry wrote to them about the “I must not tell lies” detention. Dumbledore intervenes and volunteers to locate them but keeps the location quiet, which fudge doesn’t like but the wizengamot is ok with. In order for the blood wards to work at Grimmauld properly, a Black is needed to reside in them as much as possible. As it’s HQ for the Order now, Sirius is the candidate.
This sets up the perfect storm for Regulus and Sirius bickering 😎. Their wives quickly realize they actually want to bicker, so they section them off and give them a few rooms and then go to the opposite side of the house 😂.
But at Xmas, Sirius’s wife is really missing her huge family. She’s always at Xmas with them and this is her first time without them. Reg’s wife decides that they’re going to have a Xmas nightcap, just the four of them, and actually coaches Regulus on what they’re going to do 😆. Afterwards, Sirius quips that Reg said his lines perfectly - but then sincerely thanks him. Both brothers actually enjoyed the time, and it made them feel like a family for a few moments.
It’s the marker of the first moment of peace and progress! (Sirius also thanks Regulus for “keeping Kreacher under control.” In this universe Kreacher is well behaved only bc he listens willingly to Regulus)
Wow! What a journey!
Love that their wives are just like "let them get it out of their system, we'll be on the other side of the house doing absolutely anything else." And the social skills coaching for Regulus!😅 Christmas family bonding, love to see it 😍

Beauxbatons Regulus HC :
Not a Death Eater
Got used for foreign recruiting tho
And setting the pureblood mindset to the people's there
Travelled to England every christmas
And stayed in France during summers holiday
Cuz his family actually lived there
And had a mansion there too
Does fencing and ballroom dancing
FRECKLES
His parents sent him to Beauxbatons
Cuz they didn't wanna risk another 'Sirius Accident'
And lost the spare
Heterochromia (one blue grey and the other one brown)
Probably spent lots of time in France growing up
Probably like those royal kids growing up
Like where they just left their kids with nannies and stuff
Spoke in french with Sirius and Walburga
Thick french accent
Probably had a cat
He and Remus only met a few times
But they bonded over books
And wrote to each other about book recommendations
English comes easier to him than it does to Sirius
I'll edit this later when i get more ideas :)

Ficmas Day One - Christmas lights
I hate this but here we go. Okay so day one of ficmas is here. Where I’m from, my town always lights the Christmas tree lights on the 1st of December and we can’t do that this year which made me sad so here it is in this format instead. @lumosinlove gets all the credit as always for this amazing fandom! Enjoy
word count: 2,087
-
Regulus brought his coat closer to his face as he weaved between people, rushing to try and catch up with his brother. It was the 1st of December which meant that Gryffindor was about to turn their Christmas lights on in the streets. Sirius practically dragged Regulus out of the door the second it became dark and pulled him down the streets, deciding to forgo the car. It was freezing in Gryffindor during the winter, which was why Regulus had only agreed to come if Sirius bought him an extra-large hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows when they got there, which is currently what was happening. Or going to happen.
Apparently, the stalls and stands get put up in the same place every year and Sirius knew them by heart. Regulus however did not, and he was desperately trying to keep his brother in his eye-line. He kept on getting distracted by all of the decorations in the street to see that Sirius had wandered off further into the crowd. He just grumbled and charged off to find him, mumbling about better be getting the best damn hot chocolate he’d ever had. They eventually stopped in front of a small stall covered in tinsel and cut-outs of Santa and reindeer ran by a mom and a little girl. They had coffee cups and hot chocolate by the mom and a selection of what looked to be homemade cookies by the young girl. She jumped in her seat as she saw them approaching, tugging on her mom’s sleeve and pointing towards them. Regulus grinned down to her as he reached her side and gave her a little wave. She lit up and began furiously waving her hand back to him, almost hitting her mom who was trying to listen to their order.
“Just a large hot chocolate Reg, or do you want a snack too” he heard Sirius say from in front of him.
“The hot chocolate will be fine. Remus said he’s gonna bring us Sid’s for when we get back,” he replied back to his brother. Sirius was adamant that Remus come with them to the turn-on, having never missed one since he arrived. But he was ill with a bad cold and insisted that the boys go without him so they would have time to bond. This would be Sirius’ first Christmas with Regulus where they were both free of their parents’ clutches and Remus didn’t want his stupid cold to ruin any part of it. So the boys went after lots of persuasions and threats to Sirius that Remus wouldn’t give him any kisses if he stayed home. He was out the door before his boyfriend had even finished his threat.
Regulus was excited. Nothing like this happened back in Slytherin and his parents were never the Christmas people so the holiday season was normally dull and he dreaded it every year. This year, however, he had never wanted something to come so quickly. He was going to be spending Christmas in his new home with his brother and best friends. He was overjoyed when Leo had begun listing off activities that the two of them were going to be doing over the next month, and he was happy that Dima was here to celebrate this all with him. He had already promised to make Christmas Cookies with him next week and he was excited to spend more time with him. He knew Dima was struggling to be around people who he had no idea who they were, but he was hoping that he was making it better for him.
He was shaken out of his thoughts by a hot cup getting thrust into his hands. He hissed from the unexpected heat and looked up just in time to see Sirius rolling his eyes at Regulus’ dramatics. He just grinned up at him and gently knocked his shoulder as the two began walking back towards the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the street, Regulus giving the little girl one last smile before focusing his attention on his brother.
“Are you excited for Christmas?” Sirius asked from his side, and he glanced up to see him staring down at him a strange look in his eye.
“For once I actually am. I’ve never done any of this before, you know that, and I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with you and the Lupins.”
“Okay, good,” Sirius looked away and stared down at the coffee cup in his hands, shifting it from one hand to the other. He was nervous. Regulus stopped and grabbed Sirius’ arm, making him stop too.
“What’s wrong?” Regulus was confused. Had he said something wrong? Was something going on that he didn’t know about. Sirius looked hesitant to tell him. “Come on, it’s only me. You can trust me.” he prompted him again.
Sirius sighed and ran his hand through his hair, before looking straight at him. “I just… I want this to go well. This is technically your first proper Christmas. I don’t want anything to go wrong or to be messed up. So I need you to tell me straight away if anything is. Wrong, I mean. You deserve a real Christmas and I want this to be it!” Sirius said earnestly.
Regulus was shocked. He knew that Sirius was determined to get this Christmas right but he had no idea how much pressure he was putting on himself. He looked tired and worn-out. How much had he been worried about this? Regulus placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled at Sirius softly.
“I know you want this to be perfect. But it is already is. I’m out of that hell-hole, I have my best friends. I have you. The town could have a power outage and the turkey could be burnt and it would still be the best Christmas ever. All I need for it to be great is you, Sirius. All I want is you happy and with me when I wake up in 3 weeks. If you can do that, if you can be there, then I will be the happiest man alive. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. I don’t want you to stress, I can guarantee that you haven’t told Remus any of these problems,” at Sirius’ blush he continued, “Please, relax, have fun. Enjoy Christmas!” he finished honestly.
He saw Sirius try to discreetly wipe his eyes and laughed gently, holding his arms out. Sirius just grinned and launched himself into his awaiting arms. They stayed like that for what felt like hours and Regulus never wanted to leave. He had missed his brother so much and spending all of this time with him was a dream. They eventually let each other go, both with tears streaming down their face and turned back to their drinks, beginning to cool down and looked forward waiting for the lights to finally turn on. He felt an arm snake around his shoulder and he was being brought into Sirius’ side. He snuggled closer and took a sip of his hot chocolate when the countdown began. He looked up when he heard Sirius screaming out the numbers and laughed, screaming them with him.
“3...2...1…” The crowd erupted into cheers and people were hugging anybody they could see. They all looked so happy. Even he was getting handshakes of people he’d never met and kissed on the cheek by kind old women who were jumping around the place. Kids were screaming and from somewhere speakers were blasting out Christmas songs, prompting the crowd to now burst into song. He found himself laughing again as Sirius danced around him, arms in the air, looking so carefree and young.
Regulus wanted Sirius to look like this every day. So unbelievably happy and bubbly. Before he knew what was happening, his brother had grabbed his hands and was pulling him into a dance as well, both of them with huge smiles on their face. This went on a couple more songs before they both collapsed on a bench in the park next to the tree, watching kids run around chasing each other and couples continue to dance.
He looked around at the towns happy faces and the lights adorning the street lights, the huge Christmas tree in the centre. He looked at his brother, smiling and glowing from joy. He looked up to the sky as he felt snow began to fall and heard people scream again. They eventually stood, making their way back towards Sirius house and if they ended up racing each other there, well, it was nobody else’s business. They made plans to go sledging with Remus once he had recovered from his cold and used what little snow had settled on the ground to have a snowball fight, or something similar. There was nowhere near enough snow to make a complete ball. However, they were professional athletes with strong arms. With the small amount of snow, they were able to pummel each other, knocking each other to the ground at some points.
They collapsed through the front door in pants, faces flushed and began to shed the layers of scarfs and winter coats. Remus hearing the commotion, came into the hallway and stopped seeing the looks on their faces. Sirius looked happier than he had in the past few days and Remus was so grateful for whatever Regulus had said to him whilst he was out.
“You two gonna stand there all night or you gonna come eat some pizza?”
The pair jumped, not hearing Remus come in and they both looked at each other grinning, before heading straight towards him, hands outstretched. Remus was confused at what was going on before he felt two sets of icy cold hands touching his neck and arms. He shrieked and ran into the kitchen, being chased by the brothers before they were in a huddle leaning against the counter, hearts racing. Sirius sighed and went to grab the pizza from the table, holding the pineapple one out in disgust towards Remus and placed his and Regulus’ between them. He felt a flick on his forehead and saw his boyfriend pouting at him from where he sat beside him. He rolled his eyes and kissed the pout of his lips, pulling away at the fake gag from Regulus, smirking in his direction.
They sat in silence as they devoured their pizza and then moved towards the living room where Sirius put on a cheesy Christmas movie that nobody was paying attention to, all of them sat on the sofa, Sirius in the middle. They talked amongst themselves about what vegetables they wanted to have with their meat on Christmas day, Sirius throwing a cushion in Regulus’ face for even suggesting that they have leeks as he gagged at the thought of it on his place next to his delicious food. The conversation stopped after that and they refocused their attention on the movie, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. When Regulus had told Remus that he hadn’t watched a Christmas film in years, he made a new tradition to watch at least one every night on the run-up to Christmas, starting tonight. If they paid attention to it of course.
Sirius nudged Regulus shoulder, “So, is Christmas in Gryffindor everything you hoped and imagined it would be?”
He looked at his brother and his boyfriend curled around each other and then to the decorations surrounding every inch of the room. He was the happiest he had ever been. Was it everything he had hoped it would be? He smiled to both himself and Sirius.
“It’s perfect!”

Let Me Save You - Sirius Black
Tumblr media
Title: Let Me Save You Pairing: Sirius x Fem!Reader Summary: Y/N will do whatever it takes to save the ones she loves, even if it means joining the dark side. A/N: for the anon who wanted Sirius helping his girlfriend after she takes the dark mark! This is the first time I’ve written a full imagine for Sirius, so I hope it’s okay!! Feedback is always welcome!!! Tags: @feltondarling @pandaxnienke @raerae27
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sirius’ first thought when he boards the Hogwarts Express with James after the Christmas holiday is Y/N. They’ve only been apart two weeks, but for him it feels like an eternity. It doesn’t help that most of his letters went unanswered, and when she did write her letters were short and uneventful.
Sirius and James race each other to their usual compartment, shoving each other as they run. James just barely cuts in front of Sirius as they reach the door and he grins up at his friend as he plops down next to Lily, slightly out of breath.
“Better luck next time, Pads,” James teases, throwing an arm around Lily.
Sirius flips James off as he collapses on the bench across from them. He looks around the compartment, frowning when he doesn’t spot Y/N. Marlene is seated between Lily and Wormtail, and Mooney is sitting a few spaces away from Sirius, dead asleep with his head leaning against the window. “Where’s Y/N?”
“I was just thinking the same thing,” Lily responds leaning into James’ side. “I figured she was with you guys.”
“You don’t think she’s not coming back, do you?” Marlene asks, a worried look on her face.
James rolls his eyes. “Why do you always have to be so dramatic, Mar? Maybe she’s in the loo or got caught up talking to someone. I’m sure she’ll be here any minute.”
Marlene reaches behind Lily to smack James upside the head. “Shove it, Potter. I’m being serious.” Marlene leans in and drops her voice to a whisper. “We all know what her family is like. Things with the war have only been getting worse. Maybe they’re not letting her come back.”
“I hate to admit it but what if Marlene is right?” Lily asks, her face contorting into the same worried look that’s on Marlene’s. “She didn’t return any of the letters I sent over break, and Remus said he didn’t hear from her either.”
James nudges Sirius’ leg with his foot. “You wrote to her a bunch, Pads. You get anything back?”
Sirius nods lamely. “One or two letters, if you could even call them that. She didn’t say much in either of them. Mainly just bullshit pleasantries.” Sirius runs his hand through his hair and closes his eyes, leaning back into his seat.
He’s known Y/N since he was a little boy, her family is part of the Sacred 28 as well, and their parents have been friends since they were kids. Even though they spent quite a bit of time together growing up, Sirius and Y/N only truly became friends when they both started at Hogwarts. Like him, she was the first in her family to be sorted into Gryffindor and they quickly bonded over being the family disappointment. They started dating just before the beginning of their 5th year, and now halfway through 7th year Sirius is sure that Y/N is going to be the woman he marries.
“She seemed fine on the train ride home at the end of term last year,” Wormtail adds. “Something must have happened during the break.”
Sirius’ eyes snap open as the train starts to move. “I can’t just sit here. I’m gonna go see if I can find her.”
Before anyone can stop him Sirius is out of the compartment, frantically heading down the hall.
-
“Where the hell were you?” Sirius asks as he engulfs Y/N in a hug. They’ve all just stumbled into the Great Hall worried about their missing friend, only to find her already sitting at the Gryffindor table.
Y/N returns Sirius’ hug lamely before pulling him down beside her. “Sorry, love. I got to the train late so I just sat in the first compartment I could find.”
Sirius watches her for a few moments as his arm winds around her waist. He can tell that she’s lying, but he’s not sure exactly why. Wormtail was right on the train, she’d been acting fine all term, and had been joking around with Sirius and everyone else on the train back to Kings Cross. Something must have happened at home, that’s the only way to explain her distant behavior. Y/N had cut herself off from all of them over the break, and even now as she talks with Lily Sirius can see that her smile isn’t genuine, and there’s no light behind her eyes.
“What’s wrong with you?” Sirius whispers in her ear when Lily turns her attention towards something Remus has said.
“Nothing, Sirius. I’m fine,” Y/N responds, trying to sound genuine. But in reality, she’s dying on the inside.
Spending time at home with her family is mentally and emotionally draining, and after the events that went down over Christmas Y/N just doesn’t feel like herself anymore. But she has to put on a fake smile, for her sake and her friends. They can’t know what really happened over the break, and if she wants to keep them safe she has no choice but to start slowly pulling away from those she loves most, Sirius included.
It’s no secret to anybody, especially her friends, that Y/N’s family are willing to do anything to keep their money and their power. Even though she’s well and truly the black sheep of the family, they expect the same things out of her. There’s a war brewing in the Wizarding World, and up until Christmas break Y/N and her family had been on opposite sides of it. But Y/N would do anything to protect the people she loves, and so on Christmas Eve Y/N stood in the middle of her family’s living room and took the Dark Mark.
The Mark burns with pain every time she thinks about it, but Y/N knows she deserves it. Whether she truly believes in Voldemort’s mission or not, she’s now one of his slaves. She’d done it to protect her younger brother, who was supposed to be the one taking the Mark. But he’s barely 15, and Y/N couldn’t stand there and watch her parents ruin his life. She also did it to protect Lily, her sweet Muggleborn best friend who was already on Voldemort’s radar as a target. And she did it to protect Sirius, who had already been cast from his home and no longer afforded the same protections from Voldemort’s torture as the rest of the Black family.
If taking the Dark Mark is what it takes to save her friends’ lives, then she’d do it over and over again.
“If you’re sure,” Sirius murmurs, before pulling Y/N into a deep kiss. She’s his whole entire world, and he’s willing to wait for her to be ready to open up to him. “I love you. You know that, right?”
Y/N nods and lets her hands tangle in his hair for a brief moment. “Of course, Sirius. I love you too. More than you’ll ever know.”
-
It starts off slowly. Y/N knows the only way to truly keep all of her friends safe is to keep her distance. But just immediately cutting them off would be too obvious. So she starts by heading to breakfast early, so by the time all of her friends are awake and heading to the Great Hall, she’s already on her way to the first lesson of the day. The first few times Sirius questions her, since normally Y/N likes to sleep in until the last possible second. But she brushed his concerns away, simply stating that she never gets to sleep in at home, and she’s gotten used to rising early. Everyone seems a little confused, but they accept her explanation anyway.
Next she moves her seat in all of her classes, so she’s no longer sitting by her friends. They don’t all have every class together, so it takes them all a while to figure it out. Lily confronts Y/N about it during lunch after Potions, when she’d completely ignored Lily and sat next to Severus of all people. Again, Y/N had tried to brush off their concerns casually. Her parents had gotten on her about her grades during break and sitting with her friends would only distract her.
Then she stops hanging out in the common room. Whenever there’s downtime everyone is usually piled up in front of the fire, messing around or playing games. But Y/N is always absent. She either hides away in her dorm room with a book or is in a dark corner of the library doing schoolwork. The first half dozen times it happens one of her friends always seeks her out, usually Sirius or Lily, and they try and coax her back to the common room. But she always denies their offer, either blaming it on her large amount of schoolwork to prep for NEWTS or feigning some kind of illness. Eventually they stop trying, no matter how much it pains them to do so.
The final straw is when Y/N stops sitting with her friends at all. They come down for dinner one night and find that she’s not sitting at their usual spot at the Gryffindor table. Instead she’s at the far end of the table, sandwiched between a group of first years and a group of fourth years. No matter how hard they try no one can get her to come sit with them, even Sirius’ best puppy dog eyes, which can make even Lily melt.
“So, what are we going to do about her?” Remus asks one night over dinner. Y/N has just left the Great Hall, walking by them without even sparring any one a glance.
“She’s being a proper bitch, I don’t know why we need to do anything. She doesn’t want us to be friends with her anymore? Fuck her then,” Marlene sneers, clearly using anger to cover up the hurt she’s feeling.
Lily throws her arm around Marlene’s shoulder, pulling her in tightly. “It’s okay, Mar. I miss her too.” She turns to Sirius then. “Got any ideas?”
Sirius shrugs. “She doesn’t even look at me anymore. Not sitting with us in class or choosing not to hang out with us is one thing, but the silent treatment? It’s killing me. Something must have happened during break and she won’t talk about it.”
“Have you talked to your brother lately?” James asks suddenly.
“Regulus? No, why?” Sirius asks, his tone lit with confusion.
“I wasn’t going to say anything, but I’ve seen him and Y/N talking in the halls a few times while doing Head Boy stuff after curfew. Snivellous was there once or twice too. Seemed like they were talking about something serious, and once they’d spot me they’d all run off.”
Sirius frowns. “So she can talk to that greaseball and my brother but not talk to me?”
Remus sighs. “I think this is far worse than any of us have imagined.” When everyone turns to look at him he continues. “We know Snape has a pension for Dark Arts, and it’s likely that Sirius’ family has aligned themselves with You-Know-Who, right? Well who’s family is close friends with the most ancient and noble house of Black?” He lets the question hang in the air for a moment, but no one has to answer, they all know who it is. “Sirius, you suspected that your parents had made Regulus take the Dark Mark over the summer, after you ran away. What do you think are the odds that Y/N’s family have forced her to take it as well?”
Lily gasps and covers her mouth with her hand. “That makes sense. As much as I hate to admit it, it makes sense. I mean of all the people to sit next to in Potions she sat next to Snape. That never made sense to me, she knows how vile he is, the vile things he’s said about me. But I’d bet all the money in the world that Snape has taken the Mark as well and that’s why she’s talking to him and Regulus.”
“Alright, that’s it,” Sirius says, standing up. “I can’t just sit here and theorize about what might be happening. I’m going to go find Y/N and make her talk to me. Whether she’s taken the Dark Mark or not, something is wrong, and I can’t just watch her suffer.”
-
When the door to the dorm creeps open, Y/N figures it’s Alice or Mary coming to grab something quickly. Lily and Marlene stopped checking up on her ages ago. So she’s surprised when Sirius walks into their dorm. He looks like a mixture of concerned and angry, and it makes Y/N’s chest aches.
“What?” she asks coldly, turning her attention back to her book.
Sirius doesn’t say anything at first, choosing to watch Y/N as he comes over and sits on the edge of her bed. “We need to talk.”
“Didn’t you get the hint? I don’t want to talk to you.” Y/N hates having to be like this with Sirius. He’s always been the person she trusted most in this world, but now she has to let him go. As painful as it is for the both of them.
Sirius crosses his arms over his chest. “I don’t care about what you want. You’re in pain, Y/N. And you can’t lie your way out of it. I know you too well. I can see it in your eyes. Please just stop pushing me away so I can help you.”
Y/N slams her book shut and puts it down on the bed. “It’s too late for you to help me, okay? So just give it a rest. It’s in everyone’s best interest to just stop thinking about me and stop caring about me, okay?”
Sirius watches Y/N storm towards the door and he reaches out, grabbing her forearm. She immediately winces and tears her arm from his grasp. Sirius’ eyes widen and fear washes over him. “You have it, don’t you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Y/N responds lamely, looking down at her hands.
Sirius clears his throat. “The Dark Mark. It’s on your forearm, isn’t it?”
Y/N shakes her head and pushes past Sirius and heads back towards your bed. “You’re out of your mind, Sirius. Now just leave me alone please.”
“Not until you show me your arm, Y/N,” Sirius demands firmly. He already knows what he’ll see when she finally rolls her sleeve up, but he needs to see it. He needs to know that this is really happening.
Y/N sniffles as she turns to face Sirius. At some point she’d started crying, but she’s not entirely sure when. She rips the sleeve of her shirt up to her elbow and holds her arm out so Sirius can see the Mark on her skin. “There! Are you happy? I’m a dirty, rotten death eater. Is that enough to finally get you to leave me the fuck alone?”
“Baby,” Sirius coos, taking a step towards her. “How did this happen, please, Y/N. I love you. This doesn’t make any sense. Talk to me, please.” Sirius isn’t even sure if what he’s saying is making sense, but his mind is going too fast to string a coherent thought together. This was never supposed to happen to them. Sirius ran away from his family to avoid this fate, he let himself be disowned so he and Y/N would have a chance at a long, happy life together. And the sight of that Mark on her arm has suddenly ripped those dreams right from under him.
Y/N collapses onto her bed, holding her head in her hands. “I didn’t want it to happen. You have to believe me, Sirius. I’ve hated myself every single day since I took this fucking thing.”
Sirius sits down next to Y/N and wraps his arms around her, bringing her to his chest. “I know, baby. I know,” he soothes, starting to stroke her hair. “Let me in, please. I can’t see you hurting like this anymore.”
“They were gonna make him do it. Michael,” Y/N starts. “He’s barely even 15, I couldn’t let him. He looked so scared when they told him, like he was going to cry. I had to protect him Sirius, I couldn’t let them ruin him. So, I told them I would do it.”
Sirius leans down and presses a kiss to the top of her head. “Then why not just say that to us? Y/N we all care about you. We love you. You can tell us anything. We’d never be mad. I’d never be mad.”
“Because, Sirius. This isn’t just some game or joke. I’m his slave now, I’m at his every beck and call. Being around me is dangerous, especially for you and Lily. He has information on muggleborns, Sirius. Like files and files about people. He knows pretty much everything you can about Lily. Being friends with her gives him a direct connection to her and I can’t let that happen. And you. God it would kill me if you got hurt because of me. I love you, Sirius. More than I love anything in this world.”
Sirius grabs Y/N’s face in his hands and tilts her head up so he can kiss her slowly and passionately, trying to convey every feeling he has for her through this one kiss. “Runaway with me,” he whispers when their kiss breaks.
“What?” Y/N asks, blinking up at him.
“Let’s go to Dumbledore. If anyone can help you out of this mess it’s him. He’ll be able to hide us away somewhere, until it’s safe.” Sirius hugs Y/N tightly. “I love you, Y/N. There’s no one else in the world who will ever make me feel like this. You’re the person I’m supposed to marry and have kids with. Grow old with. You’ve already saved me, now let me save you.”
Y/N kisses Sirius. “I love you too. There’s no me without you.”
Y/N lets Sirius drag her from her dorm and to Dumbledore’s office. There’s no guarantee that he’ll say yes, or that hiding will work. But with Sirius by her side, Y/N knows that everything will work out in the end.

“Life Is About Choices” : Regulus Black Imagine/Story: Plus Size OC: Potter Sister
Tumblr media
Regulus Black Imagine turned Story
Regulus Black x Reader: PS OC, Plus Size OC
------
Regulus Black was the good one.
He was the one that listened.
He kept his emotions in check and didn’t question anything his parents said.
Well, out loud anyway.
But that all changed the day he met her.
Everything about her was pure perfection to him and she had this way of breaking down his walls that be absolutely hated... and loved.
She soon became the one person who could get through to him and figure out what was going wrong or calm him down when things got real.
He was the happiest he’d ever been with her.
He wanted a life with her but he knew exactly what type of mess he’d gotten himself into and he’d sooner die than let her be involved.
He thought that she deserved better than him.
Someone who wasn’t broken.
Someone who wasn’t toxic.
She’d told him millions of times that she loved him for all that he was and he’d believed her.
He knew she loved him.
Unconditionally and with her whole heart.
And that’s why he broke it.
“She’ll get over me.” he said to himself, breathing ragged as he fought off the tears.
“She’ll find someone better.” he said, eyes welling up as if to spite him.
“She’ll find a good person and they’ll get married and they’ll have lots of babies ... and she’ll be happy.” he said, rocking back and forth.
“Without ... me.” he said, tears flowing down his face.
He wiped at them aggressively.
“Stop it.” he cursed himself.  “Stop crying.”
But he couldn’t.
It just swallowed him up and he couldn’t stop.
Eventually, he was in a full panic and his roommate walked in to see him in such a state.
The poor kid did the only thing he could think of and he ran off in search of Regulus’ brother.
Sirius was floored when his brother’s dormmate tracked him down in a panic telling him there was something wrong with his brother.
He and Regulus barely spoke anymore and he couldn’t fathom why ... but it didn’t matter.
He was clearly in trouble and call it ‘big brother instinct’ or whatever- he and the Slytherin made quick work of the castle.
He ignored the calls of protest as he raged through and into the dorms.
“Which one?” Sirius said and the kid pointed at the door.  Sirius blasted through the and halted at the scene before him.
His younger brother was absolutely losing it as he sat there in the chair, hyperventilating.
“Reg?”
Regulus’ head snapped up, luminous eyes locking on his brother, “What- are- you- doing- here?”
He barely got the words out due to his labored breathing and Sirius took a seat on the bed beside him.
He took in the sight of him.
He’d never seen Reg cry like this- save for when he was really, really young and they’d fought over a toy.
“Your dorm mate came and got me.  Said you needed help.  Reg, what’s going on?” Sirius pressed.
Regulus squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head.
“Regulus, come on.” Sirius said.  “Just tell me.  Did someone hurt you?  Need me to beat someone up?  I’ll do it.  Tell me and me and the lads will make them run back to their mums.”
Regulus laughed a bit despite himself and Sirius smiled a little.
“You know, Jade Potterl?” he said, tears still seeping out.
“James’ little sister? Yeah, why?” Sirius asked.
“No.” He choked.  “We broke up.  Well, I broke up with her.”
Sirius sat back for a second to process, “Well, I didn’t even realize the two of you were dating but alright.  Althought, I’m finding it a little hard to not lose my temper right now, Reg.  She’s like a little sister to me.  Did you hurt her?”
“No.” Regulus shook his head. “Well, I mean, it wasn’t anything bad.  I just broke up with her and told her I wasn’t ready for a relationship.”
“Regulus, why did you do that?  You were happier than anyone had seen you in months.” Sirius said, brows furrowing. “I mean, I didn’t realize it’s because you were dating Jade but either way.”
“You know why!” Regulus snapped. “I’m disgusting! I can’t have her be around me and love me! I’m toxic! I’m poison!”
Sirius sat back and this began to escalate even further... and he honestly didn’t know what to do.
He’d never seen Regulus like this before.
“She was the one good thing in my life!” Regulus said, standing from the chair and shoving it away.  “She loves me, Sirius.  She’s always there for me.   She’s good for me.  But I can’t just keep her around because she makes me feel good or because she’s got a big heart.  That’s not fair.  And mother and father will NEVER-”
“Fuck them.” Sirius cut him off and Regulus rounded on him.
“I’m not like you, Sirius.” he said, face red with tears and frustration. “I can’t just rebel like that.  They’ll never stand for it.”
“Then leave.” Sirius said simply.
“Where would I even go?” he said.
“The Potter’s.” he said simply.  “It’s where I went.”
“That’s different.” Regulus argued.
“How?”
“James is your best mate.”
“And you and Jade are apparently hopelessly in love with each other.” he challenged though he regretted it half a second later because Regulus looked like he was about to lose it again.
“I broke her heart.”  Regulus admitted, crashing back down into the chair and holding his head between his hands.
“Then mend it.” Sirius said, placing a hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Talk to her. Apologize.  I know Jade.  She’s got a good heart and she’s very forgiving.”
“She has to be.  James is her brother. And I’ve sort of become her psuedo brother.” he added with a chuckle.  “Trust me.  Just talk to her.  And don’t go back home for Christmas.  Stay here or come to the Potters. Just start cutting mother and father off, Reg.  It’s killing you.  It’s been killing you for a long time.  Honestly, man, you’re sixteen and I think I already see gray hair.”
“Oh shove off.” Regulus laughed and Sirius clapped his shoulder as he got to his feet.
“Listen, Reg.  If you need me, just find me or something.  We might not always get along but obviously when it comes down to it- if you need me I’ll be there.” he said.
Regulus just nodded and Sirius headed for the door.
“Hey, Sirius?”
The older of the two turned back with lifted brows.
“Thanks.”
“No problem, runt.” he smirked. “Now, talk to Jade.  I’m giving you twenty four hours before I break the news to James... who likely hunt you down for dating his ‘precious baby bean sissy poo’.”
“What?” Regulus laughed.
Sirius shrugged, “His words. Not mine.  I love him to death but he’s got issues when it comes to how protective he is of his sister.   It really shouldn’t have been a shock to me that she kept this a secret.  Sneaky little shit.”
Regulus just smiled knowing just how sneaky she could be.
And with that Sirius was gone and Regulus did his best to just calm down.
-----------
DUN DUN DUN! Hello, my darlings! So this is kind of some backstory off that Reg/Potter Sister Reader thing I did! I decided to turn it into a story instead with an oc! Fun times! We’ll see that dramatic scene soon enough but for now-  here’s a bonding moment between the brothers!
