Ive been playing Star Wars: Racer. Yeah, the n64 game. It has a switch port. Pretty fun. The main loop in the tournament mode is upgrading and repairing your vehicle so you can perform in the more high end races.
Anyway: Street racer Shera au. Catra races to prove she's the best, she tries to repair her own car. Scorpia records *every* race and has a flag saying "best driving cat xoxo :)" on it with a picture of Catra as a cat. Catra hates it.
One day Glimmer shows up with a porsche and beats Catra after a neck and neck race, Catra is so mad she recruits the help of her very off-the-books engineer friend Entrapta who she has never let touch her precious Subaru before. Entrapta says Catra's repeated patchwork jobs have fucked up the car, which hurts Catra's pride, but within three days the thing is repaired and modded with lighter wheels, removed furniture, and an ungodly turbo boost, also she puts refined kerosine in a secondary tank, don't ask.
Anyway Catra and Glimmer, who has also begged her boyfriend to design cute little decal faces for her car, pull up ready to start their rematch, when suddenly an enormous pink limo comes out and blocks the racing path. Out of the car steps Angella, who had weaselled the truth out of Bow, who stands next to her ashamed.
Everyone watches in bewilderment as this tense race gets interrupted by a teenager and her mother yelling at each other about how this ALWAYS happens and she is SO grounded and she only has a learner's insurance for the car anyway so why is she driving alone in the first place.
Okay, so first of all you just unlocked several childhood memories lol. When TPM came out I got super into it and had this awful dorky padawan obi-wan costume from like target that I wore the apprentice braid from until it fell to pieces and played TPM tie in computer game non-stop. So my parents were like, “Huh, neat.” And got us Star Wars: Racer but for the PC (Episode I: Racer? It had a different name I think but that cover art instantly took me back). Anyhow me and my sister took turns playing it and when she convinced me to prank call someone for the first time ever (something she’d also never done) we dialed a random number and just held the phone to the speakers while the game was playing.
The lady called back and left a stern voicemail about prank calls that shamed us so much we actually stopped playing the game afterwards 😂
ANYHOW
I actually like the idea that Catra does basic work on the car decently, but she can probably install mods with some issues and run ins. I wouldn’t trust a street racer who can’t do some work on their own car! (I say having known a small handful of them actually lol, my hometown is notorious for street racing and even my brother in law used to get in on the act) That said, I can see her being one of those people who mis-installs a fancier system of some kind. Like, the new fly wheel works great but Catra fucked up the new muffler system and didn’t realize it because it happened because of something else in the system, ya know? Entrapta would still 100% tell her she fucked up her car because Entrapta is sensitive to the feelings of the vehicles. Catra does not understand what the fuck that means but she’s not gonna ask when Entrapta somehow supercharged her turbo and put in experimental wheels and axels that are light but strong. Catra was excited when she replaced the hood and trunk with carbon because the car was so much lighter and better afterwards. This is that times twelve! Catra swears off self repairs because she literally can’t make heads of tails of it anymore, and also Entrapta wants to.
Glimmer absolutely bought her way into the sport, but it’s her hard work that got her to be a street racer. She used to go to the track and at first just did straight shot races, mostly against herself. She took Bow in it once, and his face was frozen between pure joy and pure terror under the helmet he was forced to wear and borrow by the racetrack. Angella didn’t like her daughter’s hobby, but at least it wasn’t a motorcycle or heaven forbid that dangerous street racing. Glimmer would eventually move up to track racing and then decided to take her skills to the roads and see. Bow is not thrilled by this, but he is an overly supportive boyfriend and will support her hobby gosh darn it!!! He demands that she wear a safety suit and helmet which she does making her look extra dorky compared to the rest but she races well!
When her and Catra face off for the first time it is neck and neck because Catra has more practical knowledge than Glimmer. Both of her car and the streets, but Glimmer’s build up with her car means she has more practiced skills that are too dangerous for drivers to learn on the streets on the fly. Mostly though Glimmer keeps up because of her ability to have thrown money at her fancy car. By the time Catra and Glimmer are ready for their re-match, Catra’s car is now on par with Glimmer’s money machine but Glimmer has been able to spend the time on the roads learning the routes more and becoming more familiar with the feel of street racing.
Mostly thanks to impromptu races, don’t tell her mom.
Except whoopsies! Bow totally crumbled like a house of cards. Glimmer and Catra are old enough, have their full licenses, and really have done nothing wrong as the street races they went against one another in were both sanctioned. Sure, they both do illegal races too but legal ones for big multi-car groups. So when Angella rolls up in her limo and gets in a full out fight with Glimmer there isn’t much that can be done about it. They go head to head again (ignoring everyone else there) and this time Catra beats Glimmer.
Now they have a back and forth going on where they keep facing off under various situations, and eventually end up in a long sanctioned race where you need a copiolt to actually tell you were to go and help out. Bow gets freaked out right before it starts and Angella offers to go in his place.
Look, Glimmer got her love of fast cars from someone.
Catra takes Entrapta as she’s quick, clever, and also knows what to do if the refined kerosine goes sideways.
Over the radio the whole time both teams just bicker with one another and each other, they both end up off the track somehow and are now racing illegally just against one another. The finish is a photo finish, and also filled with cops. Angella pays for everyone’s bail and they go for either a drink or ice cream. They may or may not race one another on the way there too. Bow and Scorpia meet them because “Wow! But also, don’t do that to me again please!”

yippee! my brand new hand-me-down 17-year-old xbox 360 works perfectly fine!! i played a bunch of banjo-kazooie nuts & bolts and skate 2 :] unfortunately skate 2 career mode doesn’t work cause the disc is scratched or smth which is sad cause my brother tells me it’s sick as hell. anyway that all works fine so once unleashed ships and i find a good deal on 06 i should be golden!
i also have a shitton of other 360 games, but the only one notable here is sonic’s ultimate genesis collection, which includes sonic 1, 2, 3, & knuckles, 3d blast, spinball, and dr robotnik’s mean bean machine, among a bunch of other non-sonic games. heres the the box art, as well as a snazzy advertisement for sonic unleashed on the back of the manual, remind me to scan that later
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my brand new hand-me-down 16-year-old wii on the other hand has some problems. once i got replacement wires and sensor bar it boots up and works correctly, but no matter which display i connect it cuts in and out to the point of unplayability. i’m not sure if the issue is the av cable i got or if it’s an issue with the port itself. the actual wii isn’t cutting out, as the wiimote still rumbles and the games progress. i have a wii to hdmi adapter on the way so once that arrives i should have an answer to whether it’s the cable or the port, and i’m really hoping it’s the cable.
the good news about the wii is that i managed to connect the wiimote to my computer and boot up sonic unleashed using dolphin! i only watched the opening cutscene so i’ll need to test if i can actually run games, but if everything runs smoothly i’ll have a backup option if my real wii falls through, or if i wanna do things i can’t do on the real wii. here’s hoping!
i’m holding off on buying any physical wii games until i know if i’ll be able to actually play them, however i do have a copy of super smash bros brawl, and guess who’s on the back of the box :]

In Which Emery Sees Discourse and Does a Hot Take on Likes, Reblogs, and Comments.
Hot Take: Stop telling people to not Like your stuff and to only Reblog it.
I will not be replying to people who reblog or message me about this take because I don't want to debate/argue about this. That's why I wrote it down in length.
So, you’re a content creator on the internet? Cool! A lot of people are. I am, even though I’ve been pretty quiet in the last year or so, and it’s a rad hobby. I don’t make money from it in any way, shape, or form. It’s just something fun for me to do.
I’ve been doing it for nearly 20 years actually, around the time fanfiction.net and fanfiction.org (RIP) first popped up. I started writing way back in the first grade, about 7ish years old aka 1996. My teachers always complimented me on my work because it was always creative, much more so than most of my peers. Before I even knew what fanfiction was, I was writing Spider-Man and Backstreet Boys crossover fanfiction because I wanted to see that story and knew no one would make it aside from my depraved prepubescent mind. (Don't get me started on the Might Ducks Animated Show fanfiction. That was a different time and place in the early 2000s.)
The more I wrote though, the more I wanted to share these stories. My friends were always in the stories somehow and I would print them out for them to read at school when I got to 5th grade (aka 2000 when I finally got a computer and printer at home.) They liked them and while, yes they were fuckin' wild, they wanted more like this.
So when I discovered I could write stories online and post them for others to read, I was blown away.
You mean people can just write ANYTHING and post it? Fanfiction about Power Rangers visiting Lord of the Rings and fighting Barney? Sign me the fuck up fam! I was also an avid reader of the fanfiction as well, trying to find specific tropes that I loved was hard though. I am a huge fan of the ‘I was sent to my favorite imaginary world and now must save everyone with my knowledge’ plot and was when I was younger too.
Except I didn’t find very many of them. Maybe a handful depending on the fandom or none at all. It was sad and I was frustrated because I wanted to read things I liked as well, so I started my journey into posting fanfiction. I was 12 at the time so while I was able to grasp grammar in general, I didn’t always know how to make words flow or convey an image. It didn’t stop me though. I kept going and slowly but surely was able to write better and better with each post.
Mind you, this was all on fanfiction.net, which is still up and running but a nightmare on mobile, so you could see views, likes, and comments. I would see the views and be disheartened a bit by the single digits after months and even years of the fics being up.
This is the heart of where my Hot Take begins.
I never thought I was owed views, comments, or likes to continue creating.
Yes, I was sad no one read them, but I read them. I still read my own stuff because I wrote for me and continue to. The fics weren’t made out of a need for people to share my work or get poplar or feel included (cause let’s face it, undiagnosed AuDH me did not care if I was included because I could make my own world and was perfectly find with it.)
I wrote because I wanted to write stories I couldn't find, anyone else liking them was just a cherry on top. While I liked sharing my work, including my art, I didn’t do it with the notion that I would suddenly become this well renowned author online. It wasn’t planned to be a steppingstone to anything either. It was an outlet to be able to express myself in ways I was not allowed to out loud in the real world. (again, undiagnosed me in the early 00's with a brother in the military and middle child syndrome was in a WEIRD place.) I wrote for me and me alone.
That’s what I think was lost when people started to become anti-Like on Tumblr. People stopped caring about if they liked their own work and that being enough. If you like your story or drabble or song and no one sees it or reblogs it, you still made something that you like and that’s the point of fanfiction/fanart. It’s for you and you alone.
That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to want reblogs more than likes, but to come out and say ‘Do not Like my story/art, reblog instead because it kills creativity of content creators’ feels entitled to me and sends the wrong image of what creating is.
I want Likes on my things because then I know someone read it or saw it. They enjoyed it. If they reblog it as well, even better, but to come out and push back on Liking posts doesn’t sit right with me. As much as it might suck to hear, you’re not owed reblogs or likes or anything. This isn’t a career or a way to gain status with followers, it’s a hobby that you share with others should you choose to post and even if it was a career you’re still not owed anything because you post it for free. Hobby’s should make you happy in the creation and creation process itself and if people see it when you share it, that’s cool, and when they like it, even better! They shouldn't be discouraged from that and told it hurts the creators to Like something.
Side Note: Tumblr also isn’t the best place to post things and get reblogs/comments/attention. AO3 is the best place for that. Tumblr is fine and it works okay for writing and art, but it’s not made to have an archive of fics or art at your finger tips in a coherent list to show and search like a library.
While yes, it can be disheartening to not get recognition for something you poured hard work into, that doesn’t mean you have to rely on that recognition to continue to create. Your art, writing or other, is not about that, it’s about you and the relationship with the story you’re telling in your chosen medium. The focus on how people will react to or like it should be secondary rather than primary.
If no one reads your 100,000 word fic on Steve/Tony finding a time machine to fist fight a dinosaur or your 100 hrs of work on you digital painting of Harry Styles as a hyper realistic centaur, it still exists. That work you put into it still exists. Your love for that project still exists. Go back and redraw it or reread it yourself, find the enjoyment in the story/art that you had when you wrote it because at the end of the day, everyone else be damned. I love reading my own fics, even if no one does. That’s what matters, not Likes, Reblogs, or even Comments. Just keep creating and yeeting into the abyss and maybe it’ll find someone or maybe it won’t because you found it when you made it.

More modern day AU One Braincell Trio
~~~
“But what about you?” Jiang Cheng looked over his shoulder as he added grounds to the filter. “What do you say? Do this with me? I think it would be a great chance to do something different.”
“I'll have to think about it.” He flicked the button on the coffee maker. “It's not the kind of thing I want to decide the day after I get laid off – I haven't even had my coffee yet.”
“You would have if we'd gotten a Keurig-”
“Keurig is evil,” Jiang Cheng muttered. “Coffee is an art, and anything less than a proper coffee machine ruins it.”
There was a shuffling at the door. Jiang Cheng turned to watch Nie Huaisang walk in, dragging his feet on the ground, his eyes half-closed as he wandered through the kitchen and over to the microwave. He tapped it amiably on the lid.
“Computer. Tea, Earl-Grey, hot.”
Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes, but Wei Wuxian laughed at the perfomance. Ever since he and Wei Wuxian had bought the new microwave – which, he had to admit, did look a little futuristic in design – Nie Huaisang had made the same joke every time he slept over at their apartment. Jiang Cheng had been over it after the first time, but Wei Wuxian got a kick out of it every time. If only they knew the monumental effort it took Jiang Cheng to resist teasing them for being the geeks they were.
Nie Huaisang pouted and patted the microwave again. “Your replicator's broken again.”
“Well, Captain Picard,” Wei Wuxian teased, “come and sit down and maybe Jiang Cheng will bring you a coffee.”
“But I wanted teeeeea,” Nie Huaisang whined as he sat down at the kitchen table. He glanced at the pile of discarded pineapple chunks and, grinning, grabbed a handful to pop into his mouth.
“You're disgusting,” Wei Wuxian muttered. “I am never letting you order pizza again.”
“Yes!” Nie Huaisang crowed. “I never have to pay again!”
“Oh, you're still paying,” Wei Wuxian countered. “I'm just going to do the ordering next time and leave you the bill.”
“Jiang Cheng, your roomie's being mean to me,” Nie Huaisang moaned, putting an elbow on the table and leaning his head upon his hand. “Are you going to stand for that?”
Jiang Cheng had just turned off the coffee maker and poured out three cups. He knew everyone's preferences by heart and had them all fixed to perfection before he brought them over to the table, placing each before their recipient with care. “No, I'm not going to stand for that.” The last cup placed on the table, he dropped into a chair. “I'm going to sit for it.”
Wei Wuxian snickered and Nie Huaisang groaned.
“Remind me why I even come visit you guys?”
“Because you like being insulted,” Jiang Cheng countered.
“And because you like it better than your brother's place,” Wei Wuxian added.
“That's true.” Nie Huaisang lifted his head to take a sip of coffee. Jiang Cheng knew it wasn't his friend's usual choice, but he'd always drink whatever Jiang Cheng placed before him.
Wei Wuxian glanced at Jiang Cheng before leaning in toward their friend. “So, Nie-xiong... I had an idea.”
Nie Huaisang paused, his cup just leaving his lip, and glanced over at Jiang Cheng. “Should I run?”
punz who walked into the cafe late at night, on his way to sapnaps flat, just wanting to get a strawberry refresher before coming over. He didnt mean to be the asshole customer who comes in 5 minutes before closing, it happened on accident. At first, he didnt even see xav, wondering further into the cafe to search for any employee. "Give me a sec! I'll be right with you!" He finally noticed xav, who was wiping the tables down, getting rid of the sticky stuff that would've dried in the night if he didnt. "Is noah not here?" "Nope. He went home earlier, he still needed to study for his international study exam with his brother." International study, code word for hand to hand combat practice. XD and foolish are so gonna rip eachother apart today, punz is just a tad bit sad that he doesnt get to see the epic fight the two usually have. "Oh yeah right, he told me about that." Xav finally walked over to the counter, making punzs usual order, the other having come over long enough that he remembers. "Don't you need to study for it aswell?" "Huh?" "I thought you both study political science?" "Oh no, no I study liberal arts" dream looked as if he had a loading bar infront of his face. "I thought you study social study?" "Oh no, nick does, noah just keeps thinking we study the same thing, dumb habit he has." Xav just made a humming noise. "Did you study something?" Punz could not explain he sudden urge to talk to Xavier about school, but he wanted to know more about him. "Hmm? No, I was too young. I got into pandoras with 17, I dont even have a high school finish. If I didnt end up in pandoras, I'd probably would've just gone into social studies or computer science, those two seemed to be the two choices I can remember." Punz just nodded as xav handed him his drink and punz handed him the money. "... you really dont remember alot, do you?" "Nope. Most of it was wiped out, especially the younger years. Maybe not all of it, I'm starting to regain most of my memories, but I cant say which memory is connected to what thing. Except the days I got cought in pandoras web, I can remember those clearly, the betrayal yknow,  I just cant remember the faces." "Do you think you'll remember your name?" "I think I do. Or atleast a nickname. Dream. Theres two people, they seemed to call me dream all the time, instead of whatever my actual name is. Which is honestly such a dumb name. DrEaM." They both just laughed, as dream cleaned up the counter, starting a drink for himself while at it. "I mean, it fits." "Yeah?" "Yeah, I'd say you're pretty dreamy." "Oh cmon now." "Maybe even the guy of my dreams." Xav just laughed at that, shaking his head at punzs dumbassery. "Do you like the name?" "Dream?" "Yeah" xav thought about it for a minute. "I think so? It's a funny nick name, I'd use it again, it doenst bother me. What bothers me is that I dont know my actual name. It's not xavier. It's more like I called someone else Xavier rather that I was called Xavier. But I dont knwo. Its confusing." "... do you want me to call you dream till you remember your name?" Dream looked at punz, holding the cup of coffee in his hand now. With a bit of hesitation, dream nodded. "Okay dream." Dream just smiled at him. "Wanna sit down? I can close the cafe whenever, we can sit at the table and talk rather than stand awkwardly." Punz nodded, completely forgetting about george and sapnap as he sat and listened to dream, as they asked eachother stuff from their life, told silly facts. Quickly 5 minutes turned into 20, and 20 turned into 60, and an hour turned into 2 hours. But they didnt bother. They talked, drema got them more drinks. They talked until punz couldnt ignore his phone anymore and dream seemed at the verge of sleep as punz told him about butterflies. They bid goodbye as drema finally closed the cafe and punz walked to sapnaps flat, trying to think of a lie he can tell the others as to why he is late. In the end, he just tells them that he got distracted by the gentle green eyes and the charming white smile of dream, the teasing of the two not bothering him as much s they thought it would
“I don’t know how to live in this world lightly. Some memories I grip too tight, and some crush my shoulders.”
FLORENCIA ‘REN’ SANCHEZ
Age: 31 Gender and pronouns: Female, She/Her Occupation: Bartender & part-time hacker Neighborhood: Fishtown
BIOGRAPHY
Life sure was one cold hearted son of a bitch, and this had become somewhat of a normality to the youngest Sanchez child. Growing up in Fishtown, Philadelphia, life was always a risk, especially when you had a mother who worked the streets and a father who did the same but instead of selling himself, he sold drugs. Not only that, but in a very alcohol dependant home, things got out of hand, as did tempers, meaning fists flew around the house for both the Sanchez children. Though at first Ren was immune from this as the youngest child, unfortunately it was only a matter of time before she was thrown into the chaos and violent nature that was her parents. Her brother Alec took the brunt of this as the eldest, and with a good few years on his sister, he figured this was his duty. To protect her from harms way, and for the longest time, Ren figured her brother was going to end up in a position life that lead him to helping others. Cops, Firefighters, army, whatever. However, unfortunately for all those involved, that most definitely was not the case. In fact, he went above and beyond to prove he couldn’t be more like his father if he tried, and in the end, this got him locked up for assault. But not before Ren and him lost their parents. So in reality, Ren was left to fend for herself at the ripe age of seventeen years old. A mother and father who thought it was a swell idea to drive high as a kite, killing a third party in the process — oh, and not to mention a brother that vowed never to be like their parents, but just went right ahead and proved himself wrong in the matter. A man with a temper that rivalled her own, but in a violent nature that left him behind bars and his sister alone. Hell, this was the Sanchez’s for you. Apparently they weren’t fortunate enough for a stroke of good luck or anything of the sort.
While her family life was in shambles more often than not, this was when Ren took the opportunities that came at her in full stride and that included a few hobbies she had picked up along the way, including her work with computers. At first, she was thrown into dancing and ballet, and though while she was initially passionate for the art of dance, it was clear to see that the girl before the glamorous and classy ballerina’s, was more interested in converse and playing video games — which was initially where her love of technology grew from. So, throughout middle and high school, she joined the AV Club and became the loner that perhaps some still consider her to be today, and invested herself in code, and hacking, and anything computer related rather than physical and human relationships. Yes, she had a few friends growing up, but due to her family life she was closed off and secretive, never truly letting others know how bad it got. Even when she rocked up into school with bruises on show, just telling people the likely story of her getting into yet another fight. Which, to be honest, wasn’t an unlikely story considering her back-talking and aggressive nature, which she no doubt picked up from her genetics. Despite not wanting to turn out like her mother, there were just some aspects she couldn’t deny or hide from, especially when science was involved. Though she had a hobby she was interested in pursuing, unfortunately she did not have sufficient funds to put herself through college or classes, and just picked up things as she went and learned through her own curiosity and the internet alone. Especially when her parents had passed away in a car accident, which wasn’t so much an accident, rather than a stupid and selfish fuck-up. Though she did have her brother for a few or two following their deaths, and thankfully he was granted guardianship where he was 21 at the time. Of course, this did not exactly turn out much better for the pair thereafter.
Once her brother found himself otherwise occupied behind bars, Ren was left the ownership of the house and that’s exactly where she remained. With two jobs on the go, she could just about manage the upkeep. One as a barmaid, just serving drinks and putting up with drunken patrons, and the other was more of a sideline, just helping people with their computer needs. Whether that be just fixing someones old shitty laptop, or hacking into a feuding wife’s cheating asshole of a husband’s emails to see what’s going on behind closed doors. If something technical is required, Ren has proved to be quite resourceful. However, there’s a good chance that none of this is legal — in fact, she knows full well it isn’t. And she’s already been caught by the police a few times now, but it pays to have friends in high places, apparently. Nonetheless, she has continued on with her life despite the tragic mishaps along the way. Including the fact that she became as cold and guarded as she vowed herself not to, not because of her family. However, her subconscious had another plan in mind, and this is it’s way of protecting itself. Casting people out for a slight error in judgement, isolating herself from social gatherings. Whatever it is, there’s a ninety percent chance that Ren will do whatever she can to ensure she comes out on top. After all, she goes by the saying of ‘selfish people live longer’, and this was something her father had passed on in one of his drugged up sessions. However, the words seemed to resonate with the young woman, and she’s been unable to shake them ever since.
Ren is still currently setting herself up in the way of her two jobs, and sustaining the property she has taken from her brother thanks to his antics landing him in prison a few years ago now. However, she has recently been informed that her brother may be granted parole and she has been asked to attend his meeting and more of less ‘vouch for him’, something she’s currently deciding between considering she knows full well what her brother is capable off. The violent asshole that he is. Nonetheless, she figured she’s just going to decide last minute, and until that time, she’s essentially just going to become a bubbling brunette of anger and turmoil. So, essentially she’s wishing luck on whoever pisses her off one day when she’s ready to blow. Thankfully though, she does have a select few who manage to keep her relatively calm, which is difficult in itself with such a fiery woman, especially in the section of Downtown — it’s just going to be a case of whether or not Ren lets herself fall into familial habits of drugs. After all she’s got the contacts and it’s an easy score, not to mention she’s already got alcohol down as a solution to most of her problems, which was always a dangerous road, right? However, she’s a strong willed woman, so hopefully she’ll learn to battle her demons in other ways. And until that point, it’s just a case of getting by. In fact, she’s hoping to pick up her second business in a more professional way, even considering saving up and purchasing a small office, or even hiring someone to help. Whether that be a legal advisory, a fellow technical enthusiast, or even just someone to help her with finding cases and handling the admin shit for the third parties and clients involved.
REN SANCHEZ has the face claim of PRISCILLA QUINTANA and is played by YAS.
11/25/22
Today was a mixed bag. I finally caught up on sleep. Finally, after like a week. I started my day, got the cat food and decided "fuck it, I'm going to smoke today. It's Thanksgiving, I'm alone and packing all day, I might as well unwind a bit." I got a good shower in, did laundry all day, started a new Rimworld playthrough and worked on my hoodie and packed most of my food stuff from the kitchen.
There isn't a ton of stuff left to pack. Mostly kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, clothes, art supplies/tools and my computer. I'm not sure if it's gonna be one drive worth, might be two, but it's going well. I can feel the gears getting close to the next tick.
While cleaning out my cabinets, I was reminded by 11 tubs of shisha that I used to smoke tobacco. I have been nicotine-free for over a year (I quit early November last year). This shisha is worth probably... I'd say over $150 total. And it's all still good too, it's made with molasses and really doesn't lose a lot of flavor or quality over time too much. I mean, after several years... probably... but I've smoked shisha after a year in a sealed container and it's been totally fine. So... me, in my infinite wisdom, thought to offer this tobacco to the only person I can think of that smokes that might appreciate it. My brother.
This was a mistake. I don't really feel comfortable getting into it any more than that, but... I'm realizing certain patterns in how some people address unexpected reconnections. This pattern is one of skepticism. Asking questions, which quickly morph into rhetorical questions, which morph into answering their own questions, which transitions into "let me tell you what's going on", which quickly arcs over to "here are your options". Which is, to be frank, far from a conversation. It's kind of an ultimatum. It's control, really. Taking control of an unexpected or unknown situation, rather than seeking further clarification.
I'm shaking a bit right now, because the conversation continued at the end of the last paragraph. I'm not exaggerating, my hands are trembling, like I'm shivering, and I feel weak. And I'm starting to learn that this is a trauma response. And in the future, when I start feeling this way - or in the present, when I start feeling this way - I need to walk away from the dangerous situation I'm in and go cuddle my cat and eat some ice cream or something.
I deserve to be around people who appreciate me. Who don't scrutinize every word and action I take deliberately looking for the "trick" or "trap", and then having to suffer the full brunt of someone else's anxious retaliation. I have suffered this more times than I can count. Being the victim of a tortured soul swinging at ghosts of past abusive relationships, past pains, past horrors. Past, of course, being the important word there. It has taken me decades to truly believe this - and may every heavenly deity from every faith ever bless my social worker for helping me fully integrate this - these things I am being accused of. These situations are not. my. fault. And I. deserve. better.
I'm starting to edit, so I'm going to change the topic. I feel foolish for trying to be charitable and forgiving towards family. Which is such a conflicting feeling. Trying to forgive and be kind to those who have been controlling and manipulative to me... like... why the fuck am I so drawn to it? I just... want to be a good person, you know? I just want to be a good guy who can help inspire people to move forward. To get unstuck. Like... this whole control thing just comes from fear usually. At least as a trauma response, its like... responding to fears of being taken control of... then overcompensating by taking control of the other person. At least most of the time, from what I've seen. So my dumb ass brain just goes "yo, if you're really nice and not a threat to them, they'll feel safe and they won't be controlling and everything will go back where it was 10 years ago". NOPE. Big old fuckin nope it won't. I don't think that has ever actually worked, like maybe once or twice has that ever been effective and it has never had a lasting effect. Why? Well... because the other person has a primary defensive mechanism that they are not working on that is "I need to control this before it hurts me". And just because this fluke moment reassured them that a threat wasn't immanent... doesn't mean that reflex isn't primed to strike at any moment, over any thing. It's a hair trigger defense system that is notorious for misfiring. I've often made the analogy of these people being like night watchmen on a castle wall with 50 caliber machineguns just hosing down the forest every time they hear a twig crack. This policy of "shoot first", "control first", "blame first", ask questions later... it does not change. It has no need to change. And most importantly, it is not mine to change. Ideally, they would install a floodlight and try to gather information on what is cracking the twigs, before raining buckets of hot lead into the darkness. But again, I can't sneak up onto the battlements and install one. I can't sneak up there and leave a note saying "I will be walking by in the forest at 2:16AM, 50 yards from the wall, please do not shoot me." These will also be seen as signs of manipulation. You can't reason with those who are convinced the world is out to get them. Trust me, I'm one of them, and I'm trying so fucking hard to recover.
Now it's 1AM. I want to pack up my bathroom stuff before bed. This was a nasty taste to leave in my mouth after a big day. And part of me wishes I didn't reach out. Part of me wishes I wasn't so generous to those who haven't "earned" it, and who abuse my generosity, who abuse my forgiveness and trust. But part of me feels like it's the right thing to do. For the shisha. XD I am not even fucking kidding, I'm legit saying this and honestly believe it. I think the shisha deserves to be appreciated. I don't think it deserves to go in the trash. And I'm not going to smoke it in the new apartment, I'm just not going to. So... what options do I have? Do I try to give it to a stranger up at the new apartment? "Hey person I've never met, would you like 11 tubs of year-old shisha? To smoke in a building you can't smoke in?" Doesn't seem smart. And I don't know anyone left in this town. So... yeah. I wish I was kidding, but I legit was willing to reach out to one of the people that hurt me most in the world, in my entire life, to offer him a "peace offering" (which I later rephrased as "cease fire" as in "please stop accusing me of being a bad person and barking orders at me") in order to get 11 tubs of flavored tobacco a home where they would be appreciated.
Would it be better if I just threw it out next time? I honestly don't know anymore. It seemed like a great idea at the time, a win-win-win all around, and now my heart just aches. And I feel really sad and hopeless, depressed. Tragedy, is really the only word coming to mind on repeat. So... I guess we just keep marching. Maybe more packing, but it's 1AM now because I was sitting here fucking waiting for his ass to stop playing fucking video games on Thanksgiving and respond to simple Discord messages. Okay, I'm a bit upset now. I worked really hard to reset my sleep schedule, now it's just slipping right back again.
Ugh. Deep breath. I'm just going to say this. I. Cannot. Fucking. WAIT. Until I get to have friendships that breathe life into me. That aren't controlling and draining and taking and sucking the life out of me. I cannot wait until I have any form of relationship where the person actually, genuinely cares how my day was, actually appreciates the gestures that I put forth unsolicited. Where we amplify each other, resonate. Healthy relationships. I'm very excited, I hope it's soon. I have so much to share!
As much as this has been a catastrophic, heart-wrenching end to the day, it has been a pretty good day overall. And I really can't let the pains of a Sith drain me. I deserve better, and if others won't respect me, I need to at very least respect myself enough to get out of situations like that. I have always sucked at walking away, I feel like I'm abandoning or giving up. But... yeah. That's a block for me. So I need to address that in the future.
Sorry for the doom and gloom. Move is almost done, I hope to be up in the new place by the start of the next week, maybe even over the weekend. I just have some deliveries coming this weekend (art supplies, a painting I ordered for the new apartment) and I kinda want to be around for that. We'll see how it goes. Here's to building more positivity in the world, even if it means walking away, I guess.
Creepypasta headcannons that are stuck in my brain
Warnings: mentions of blood, knives - uhhhh this is the creepypasta fandom tho so like what did u expect
Slenderman is like Bruce Wayne in the way that he collects orphans (ok technically not orphans but you get what I mean.)
His mansion is open to all the creeps but some of them prefer to have places of their own To elaborate on that I feel like masky and hoodie would have like their own little cabin somewhere in the woods
The mansion has like a computer room place where all the video game based/ tech based creeps kinda reside like think of it like wreck it ralph if that makes sense
There’s a weapons room, Probs a meat freezer, Medical room
Since it’s a mansion there’s a shit ton of rooms and bathrooms but I feel like most of the creeps are lazy and just use the most convenient ones that are closest to them- which leads to a rancid ass lookin bathroom that no one wants to clean. This pattern continues until all of them are dirty- which leads to them peeing in the woods. Until Slendy and Masky scold them and make them clean the bathrooms.
Helen has his little art studio in the house and is constantly staining the place with paint that’s been left over in his hands
He’s probably the most average joe-looking dude out of all of them and he once tried to submerge himself with blood to look more scary but ultimately ended up tripping on the blood and embarrassing himself. To make things worse- the blood crusted all over him and it was a pain to wash off
Painted a family portrait that hangs at the entrance of the place
Jeff is a scene queen and has a shitload of hairspray and hairdye
he blasts his music around the house which annoys everyone
Ben hogs the living room couch and the game console - nobody knows why. Like homeboy has his own room with his own set up and stuff He says it’s his “work room” and that the living room is his gaming room
Him and Toby are the ones who eat all of the junk food within a two days
Jeff constantly sticks knives into the walls and doors when he’s in a mood
Hoodie is the one who has to do the handy work around the house and fix the windows, walls, ect
Toby is so clumsy like - he’ll fall down the stairs and be like “my bad”
I feel like he’d be into wood carving for some reason- him and hoodie will get like pieces of wood and carve cute little things out of them like a dinosaur or swan
EJ is like the cool older brother who’s in a band
He only ever comes out of his room/basement when he’s getting food or on his way out for a mission
He’s like the medic of the house and is constantly patching people up
whenever he comes up everyone’s like “damn who got stabbed this time?” Or “HIS HIGHNESS HAS BLESSED US WITH HIS PRESENCE”
They all have meetings on Monday and Friday morning to kind of touch base with each-other and assign chores/tasks
Liu dresses like it’s Christian girl autumn
Him and Jeff are constantly getting into arguments over the smallest things and
Toby has to break it up all the time Epitome of hipster probably listens to the smiths
-pffftt since he’s Jeff’s brother he probably listens to Never shout never
Clockwork is friggin ripped man she’s probably one of the only ones to actually exercise and get stay in shape
Takes jogs out in the woods
She’s like a himbo - if that makes sense lol Stuck in the 2014 tumblr era (fashion wise)
Will sit on Ben if he doesn’t move from her spot on the couch , she’s stubborn and straightforward but also kind and aggressive (in a good way)
Jane is done with everyone’s shit lol she’s like an older sister who gets blamed for all of her younger siblings chaos
”Jane why is Hoodie tied up in a tree?”
“Hell if I know.”
“Get him down.”
She hates Jeff but he’s also the one she hangs out with the most (when she’s not pissed at him) I feel like after she drops the grudge they probably watch the Jersey shore together- and the Kardashians
Kage-Kao likes to send everyone memes and riddles to crack Also hacks the tv to put on something he wants to watch
Will also hack peoples devices when they’ve pissed him off
Plays roblox and trolls people on it
Sends selfies of him himself to the creeps at the most random times
LJ is so tall and is always bumping into the doorframe He has to slouch when he goes up the stairs in some areas
Spends time with Sally - he’s like her kindergarten teacher.He absolutely hates kids - but sally’s an exception
When he’s not out at work or hanging out with peoples he’s taking naps like a grandpa
Peepaw LJ
“That tv screen is too bright. Turn it down.”
“Is that even possible?”
Sally was basically robbed of her childhood so everyone makes it their goal to make sure she has a good one.
They let her play grand theft auto once and she couldn’t stop walking like the characters for the longest time
When she’s not playing video games with Ben or making messes with Toby- she likes to spend time with Slendy making some crafts
Her room is the prettiest one in the whole mansion
Even though he’s like a demon creature thingy- slendy likes to play sodoku and like do crossword puzzles, probs just puzzles in general
Checks himself out in the mirror and admires his suits
Constantly buying (or rather stealing) new suits
Spends lots of time outside in the woods just kinda creeping and stalking , looking for potential victims for the creeps
When someone new comes to the mansion they either last 1 day- or don’t even stay at allThe chaos trio- Ben, Jeff, and Toby make it their goal to see how long they can annoy the newcomers before they break
The creeps totally have movie nights on their days off
Taking Chances Ch. 21: Apologies (Father’s Day)
AO3
Prev
Marinette purses her lips as she looks at the neatly wrapped package in her hand. She knew she should still give it to her dad, shouldn’t let her hurt over the Gala stop her from celebrating Father’s Day with him for the first time. She’d already gotten confirmation from her Maman that her present for her Papa had arrived. So that was taken care of. A small part of her, the petty part, wanted to use Kaalki and go back to Paris for Father’s Day. But she also didn’t want to hurt her dad, no matter how much he’d hurt her. She had to be better than that, she is Ladybug after all. Sighing, she drops the present onto her bed. Grabbing the rest of what she needed for a movie night at one of Jason’s safe houses, she rushes out of her room. She knew that her dad’s conversation with Superman in the Batcave wouldn’t last too long, and then he’d be looking for her and Damian to lecture the hell out of them. Unfortunately for him, neither of them planned to be around to listen to it.
“Got everything Pixie Pop?” Jason asks as she rushes down the last of the steps, barely stopping herself from falling. She quickly balances herself and shoots her brother a small grin.
“Yup. Let’s go before I can get grounded.” She says, rushing past him and out the door, grinning as she hears his loud cackles behind her. It will get better. She’d talk to her dad eventually, and shove the bad feelings away. But she was going to let herself mope for another day. After all, letting herself feel negative emotions was part of the reason her parents agreed to let her stay in Gotham for the summer.
---
“What do you mean there’s an entire movie about you and Cat boy?” Jason asks, shoving another cookie in his mouth. Marinette shrugs.
“I mean we have a movie. It’s not my favorite, it’s kind of ridiculous. None of it is accurate. Except, Adrien did voice Chat Noir for the movie...still not sure why he thought that was a good idea.” She says, thinking back to the original premiere of the movie and all of the drama that came with it.
“Well shit. He’s not the brightest kid, is he?” Jason asks with a snort. Marinette opens her mouth to argue, then remembers some of Adrien’s….less brilliant moments. Okay, so maybe he’s not perfect.
“Ya know, we were once cast as Ladybug and Chat Noir in a music video.” She says, snorting at the look on Jason’s face.
“You’ve gotta be kidding. Really? Kid, please tell me you didn’t go through with it.” He says, looking mildly distressed. Marinette just rolls her eyes.
“No, we didn’t. The concept for the video changed and so no more hero costumes. I was terrified though. Kept losing the mask on purpose ‘cause I was convinced the mask would be what gave it away.” She admits with a small laugh.
“Ya know, that’s almost as bad as the time that someone at WE thought it’d be a good idea to enter B in a Batman look alike contest. Sent in his photo and everything.” Jason says with a snort. Marinette’s jaw drops.
“Wait, really?” She asks. He nods.
“Yup. But that’s not the best part.” He says. Her eyebrows furrowed together. What could possibly be better- Oh. No, oh my-
“He lost, didn’t he!” She cheers, laughing at Jason’s huge smile.
“Of course he did! You didn’t really think Brucie Wayne could ever be THE Batman, did you?” He asks with a smirk.
“Who entered him?” Marinette asks, kind of assuming that Jason did it with Tim’s computer.
“No one could ever prove anything, but Lucius Fox couldn’t stop smiling for weeks after it happened.” Jason says.
“No way, Lucius Fox? Oh my god!” She starts laughing again, the negative feelings from earlier almost completely gone. Disappeared. Times like these, she was beyond relieved that she wasn’t an only child anymore. She doesn’t know how she’d ever function again without her brothers and Cass.
---
Bruce takes a deep breath before knocking on Marinette’s door. He’d spent some time talking to Clark in an attempt to calm down. He still couldn’t believe his two youngest children had gone to the Watchtower without permission...well, he could believe that Damian went. But not Marinette. And then there was her attitude towards him at the Tower. Her posture was very Damian, but her words and tone were very much Jason. He couldn’t decide if he was glad that they were bonding, or frustrated with the way his sons were corrupting his daughter. Not hearing an answer on the other side of the door, he knocks again.
“If?” He says. Alfred nods.
“Marinette, I know you’re angry, but shutting yourself away in your room is not the answer. I’ll give you ten more minutes, but then we need to talk about your behavior today.” He says, nodding to himself. That sounded good. That was right, right?
“I’m certain that wouldn’t work on Miss Marinette even if she was in her room, Master Bruce.” Alfred says, giving him an unimpressed look. Bruce’s eye twitches.
“Indeed, sir. It seems that Miss Marinette will not be sleeping at the manor tonight.” He says, turning to walk away.
“And I’m assuming you know where she is?” Bruce says, doubting that Alfred will actually give up her location. He’d definitely been picking the kids’ side the last two weeks or so. It was different, and he wasn’t fond of the change.
“Of course I do, sir.” Alfred says, raising an eyebrow in a silent challenge.
“Will you tell me where she is?” He asks, trying hard not to huff when Alfred shakes his head.
“Of course not, sir.” He says before walking away. Right. So she wasn’t sleeping at the manor, but she was safe. If she wasn’t, Alfred would have told him where she was. He mentally runs through a list of possible places she could be. Dick’s apartment, one of Jason’s safe houses, the Siren’s apartment, Paris- He pales as he realizes that she could definitely be in Paris. Was she really so upset that she would go back to Paris? Would she ever come back if she left? He lets out an uneven breath. He messed up. He messed up and now she was going to go back to Paris and she’d never talk to him again. Unless- maybe she didn’t. Swallowing the guilt that appears at the thought, he pushes her door open. If she had left for Paris, she would’ve taken everything with her. The sight of her clothes and sewing supplies still scattered around the room makes him breathe a sigh of relief. She hadn’t left Not yet. He’s about to walk out when an envelope on her bed catches his eye. Frowning, he walks over and picks it up, ‘Dad’ written on it in neat cursive. Now standing by her bed, he realizes there’s also a neatly wrapped package (Batman wrapping paper) on it. He smiles, then glances back at the envelope. He opens it, smiling at the art on the cardstock. It was clearly Marinette’s art, but he was confused why it was addressed to him.
‘Dad, I just wanted to let you know that I’m so happy you’re my Dad, and I’m so glad that I got to meet you. Finding out that I was adopted was a little scary, but you’ve made sure I’ve been okay through it all. Happy Father’s Day! Love, Marinette’
Bruce blinks. She was scared. If he had to guess, she was most likely scared that the family wouldn’t accept her. They’d been getting along so well, until the Gala mistake. Until he’d decided for her. Assumed she wouldn’t want to go to the Gala. And now she didn’t even want to stay at the manor tonight, and she was angry enough earlier to throw a chair at him. He pushes a hand through his hair, cursing lowly under his breath. He had to fix this.
---
A sharp pounding at the door makes Jason leap off the couch. He holds up a finger and gestures for Marinette to hide. No one should be here. No one else knows which of his safe houses he was at today. Grabbing a gun, he walks over, glancing through the peephole. He scoffs.
“Get the fuck outta here Bruce.” He calls through the door, watching Marinette as she immediately tenses as if she’s gonna run. He shakes his head at her. She didn’t have to run, he sure as hell wouldn’t open the door if she didn’t want him to.
“Jason, open the door. I need to talk to Marinette.” Bruce calls, Jason snorts.
“Yeah, not gonna happen B.” He says.
“I would like to apologize to her.” Bruce says. Jason blinks. That’s new. Did the old man finally figure out that fuck ups warrant apologies? He glances over at Marinette, raising an eyebrow. It was her call. The unsure look on her face almost makes him decide for her. Almost. The kid’d had enough of people deciding shit for her.
“Let him in.” She says. He opens the door, glaring at the man.
“Is it okay if he comes in?” She whispers, and Jason nods.
“Up to you kiddo.” He whispers back. She stands taller, pushing her shoulders back before nodding.
“She’s the one who let you in. Don’t fuck this up.” He warns before stepping aside and letting Bruce walk in.
“Marinette.” He says, nodding at her. Jason groans. Yeah, B was totally gonna fuck this up.
“Father.” She says, shifting so that her arms are crossed, a neutral expression on her face. God, he really hopes her mimicking Demon Spawn is just a phase.
“I would like to preface this conversation by letting you know I went into your room.” Bruce says. Marinette just raises an eyebrow. Yeah, Jason wasn’t seeing the connection either. “I apologize for invading your privacy like that, Damian has definitely reminded me several times that your personal rooms are not to be messed with. However, when Alfred let me know you weren’t sleeping at the manor tonight, I was worried that perhaps you had gone back to Paris.”
“I wouldn’t have gone back without telling you. Well, other than akuma attacks. Do you really think I’d do something like that?” She asks, frowning.
“I know that I’ve done things I’m not proud of when hurt. Things that I came to regret. And I saw earlier today how hurt you actually are. I didn’t realize-” He pauses. “I also read the card that was on your bed.”
“What! No, that was- that was for Father’s Day.” She says with a sigh.
“I didn’t open the gift. I originally thought the envelope would have a note from you on where you had gone. Or that you never wanted to see me again. I thought the chances were pretty even.” He says and Jason snorts.
“Oh, okay. Wait, why would you ever think that? Yes, I was hurt. I still am hurt, if I’m being honest. But I don’t want to cut you out of my life.” She says, shaking her head.
“Nor do I want you out of ours.” Bruce says. Marinette blinks. “I realize now what it must have looked like, to you. Not informing you about the Gala, taking the rest of the family. It was, admittedly, not my best moment. I made a decision for you when I should’ve asked you what you wanted. You could have even come with us as MDC, but I took that option away from you. I am very sorry, Marinette. I am glad that you’re my daughter, sweetheart.” He says and Jason blinks. Well shit. The old man did have feelings. Too bad no one would ever believe him if he tried to say something about it. He watches as the tension in Marinette’s body drops almost instantly before she runs over and launches herself at Bruce. She wraps her arms around him and Jason can see the way her body shakes. Bruce just stands there, staring down at the top of her head in shock.
“You wrap your arms around her.” Jason snarks. Bruce blinks before listening, returning Marinette’s hug. Well, they were still dysfunctional as hell, but at least now he’d be able to take Pixie Pop to the manor without feeling like an asshole brother.
---
Marinette bounces nervously in her seat as she watches her brothers hand her dad presents. She’s shocked when Jason hands over a small gift, knowing that the two’s relationship wasn’t….great. She leans forward in anticipation, watching and waiting to see what he’d picked out.
“Thank you, Jason. Clark will never let me live this down.” Her dad says, the fondness in his tone not matching the frown on his face. He turns the box around and the room erupts in laughter. Somehow, Jason had found a company that made customizable bobbleheads. The body was probably just a stock body, dressed in civilian clothes with a superman suit peaking through the shirt. And the head, the head was hilarious. It was very obviously crafted to look like their dad, specifically with his ‘Brucie Wayne’ smile. It was awful and amazing at the same time.
“I think Jaybird wins best gift.” Dick says with a grin.
“Tt. Unlikely. The new katana that Cass and I gave him is obviously superior.” Damian says, crossing his arms.
“I don’t know Damian, I still haven’t given him my present.” She points out, grinning at the slight frown on Damian’s face.
“While I doubt your present could be better than mine, there is no doubt it will be better received than Todd’s.” Damian says. Marinette snorts at the look on Jason’s face.
“Listen Demon Spawn, there’s this thing called humor. That’s what my gift had. I know you wouldn’t know anything about humor, so let me explain it to you.” He starts, and Marinette jumps in to cut him off before they can start arguing. It was Father’s Day, the least they could do is avoid fighting with each other for a couple more hours.
“And this one’s from me.” She says, passing him the present wrapped in Batman wrapping paper. She grins as Tim and Dick both laugh, not having seen it before now.
“I think Mari might win just ‘cause of the paper.” Tim admits, taking a large drink of his iced coffee that Marinette had picked up for him. She’d had to fight an akuma right before they started presents, so she’d stopped and got Tim coffee from the shop that he’d tried when they’d all been in Paris. She watches in anticipation as her dad carefully unwraps the box, opening it and pulling out the black suit jacket. He smiles at her.
“Did you make this? It’s amazing.” He says, and her brothers nod in agreement (though Damian does so reluctantly).
“Look at the inside of it.” She says, gesturing for him to unfold it. His eyebrow twitches, but he does as she says. She watches his face for the moment he spots it, and grins when his face drops into a wide smile. On the inside of the left side of the jacket, she’d added a breast pocket. It wasn’t really for anything though. Instead, it was so that she could embroider all of his children’s names in a way so that it would rest above his heart. The jacket also had tiny bat logos embroidered at the cuffs of the jacket. The thread was shiny and very dark so that it would barely show up against the black of the jacket. It had to be lit just right to see it, but as he tilted the jacket again, she knew he saw it. It had taken longer than suit jackets normally do for her, but it was because she knew that it had to be perfect. It was, after all, the first piece of clothing she’d made for her dad.
“It’s perfect, Marinette.” He says softly, running a hand over the names. She lets out a sigh of relief before smiling at him. Things were still a little rough, but they were so much better than they’d been the night of the Gala. She was glad that she had stayed, that she hadn’t ran like she had so badly wanted to.
New Tags: consensual sex, oral sex(giving and receiving), brat and dom, choking, breeding kink, face sitting
‘You free this weekend?’ you read the text off of your phone. You groggily glance at the time, which read 3:33 AM.
‘Depends.’ you respond back to Kuroo.  Two and a half weeks had passed since the last job he worked, meaning it had been two and half weeks since you had seen him and discussed your suspicions about your father.
‘Friend of mine is throwing a party. Karasuno Killers are gonna be there.’ Kuroo replies. Your pulse quickens, remembering the conversation you and Kuroo had about your brother and his racing team.
‘I’ll be there.’ you pause before hitting send, questioning if the action you were tempted to make was a good idea. ‘Are you free rn?’ you type, pressing send and locking your phone, setting it down next to you as you stared up at the ceiling. Your heart raced at even the thought of Kuroo, of the idea of being in his presence alone again.
Your phone lit up seconds later. ‘Be there in 15.’ You can feel yourself blushing, and you can’t stop the grin that spread across your face.
You practically jump out of bed, changing into something casual. A flash of red catches your eye, and you grab Kuroo’s jacket, draping it over your shoulders. You sit back down in bed, impatiently waiting for Kuroo to text you.
After what felt like an eternity, you finally got a text from him. ‘Here princess.’ You smirk at the use of the nickname, you were starting to get used to hearing him call you princess, and you couldn’t deny the fact that you liked it.
Moving quietly through the house, you quickly peer over to your father’s office to see if the lights were on. Long work nights were common with him, the only downside being that the computer with access to the security cameras was in that office. Lucky for you, he seemed to be asleep upstairs, so that was one less thing to worry about.
“Hey there.” Kuroo’s deep voice practically echoed through the quiet night, and you quickly shush him as you lock the front door. He laughs, holding the car door open for you. He shuts it behind you and goes around to his side, climbing in and starting the car.
“So, where to?” He asks, turning to you, his elbow resting against the center console, a huge grin spread across his face.
“Anywhere.” You say, anxious to get away from your house, away from your father. It gave you chills thinking about your brother and the connections that were beginning to form, with your father only a few feet away at times. You tried your hardest to act as normal as possible around him, but you knew that eventually he would catch on to your sudden change in behavior.
“Are you hungry?” Kuroo asks, pulling out his phone and unlocking it. You take a peek at his lock screen, and see a photo of a black cat staring back at you.
You shrug. “I could eat.” You say, causing Kuroo to chuckle.
“I know the perfect place.” He says, calling someone. “Hey Haiba, you guys still open?” He pauses as the person named Haiba responds. “Perfect. I’ll be there in 20. Save a table for two.” He pauses yet again. “No you ass, not for Kenma. I’m bringing a girl.” He says, hanging up the phone.
You laugh at the interaction between them, looking over at Kuroo as he pulls out of the driveway and through the neighborhood. Kuroo glances over at you, smirking when he realizes you were already looking. You quickly look away, staring ahead intensely.
“You look cute in my jacket.” He says.
“Does that mean I get to keep it?” You ask playfully, smiling sweetly at him. He laughs, a big grin on his face.
“I’ll tell you what. You can keep it, but I will need to borrow it from time to time for races. Fair?” He says, holding a hand out for you to shake as he keeps the other on the wheel.
“Sounds good to me.” You say, grabbing his hand and shaking it. Your fingers graze over the callouses and scars on his knuckles, and you turn his hand over to examine them.
“Just some work related injuries.” He jokes, squeezing your hand.
“These are from working for my dad?” You ask, your voice quiet, almost out of shame.
“Yeah.” He responds. You couldn’t hide the painful expression on your face and Kuroo quickly took notice of it. “Nothing to worry about though, princess. I’m tougher than I look, I promise.” He says, winking. Kuroo brings your hand to his lips, placing a soft kiss, making your heart skip a beat and your cheeks glow red.
He lets go of your hand to switch gears as you enter the city. There are no shops that appear to be open and no one on the street. Kuroo slows down, pulling into a parking lot.
“It doesn’t look like anything’s open.” You state as Kuroo gets out of the car.
“Looks can be deceiving.” He says, shutting his car door. You let yourself out, closing the door behind you and turning towards him. He takes your hand and leads you to a small shop with a sign that reads “Haiba Ramen”. From the outside it had looked as though it was closed, but as soon as Kuroo swung the door open, you realized it was anything but.
There were plenty of people in there, almost all of them wearing racing jackets of different colors, the style similar to Kuroo’s. The smell of ramen was strong and welcoming, your hunger growing as you entered the shop.
“DK!” You hear someone call out. The patrons of the ramen shop all turn their heads to look at the both of you, and you were met by a chorus of greetings.
“Someone’s popular.” You quietly comment to him as he leads you to a table away from the crowds.
“Haiba’s part of Nekoma Crew, part time mechanic, part time ramen shop owner. He’s better at cooking than fixing cars though.” Kuroo motions towards the other patrons in the shop. “These are all racers. The store is closed to the public at 10, but stays open for friends and racers until 5. Me and the team usually have our meetings and get togethers here.”
“Well who else would let you fuckers in this late at night?” A tall guy with silver hair says, placing two waters on the table. Kuroo gets up to greet him.
“We’re eternally grateful Lev.” Kuroo jokes, giving Lev a half hug. Lev rolls his eyes as Kuroo sits back down.
“Hi.” You say shyly, giving a small wave to Lev, who smiled down at you.
“You must be…(y/n).” Lev says holding a hand out for you to shake.
You scrunch your eyebrows together, shaking his hand. “Uh, how do you know my name?” You ask skeptically, curious as to how he already knew you.
“DK won’t stop talking about you at the shop. Sometimes it’s like he can’t shut up about you.” Lev smirks, looking over at Kuroo. You look at Kuroo with a face of fake shock, grinning from ear to ear. You see his ears growing red as he avoids your gaze.
“Your tip is rapidly decreasing the longer this conversation goes on for.” Kuroo says, making you laugh. Lev scoffs, mockingly putting his hands up.
“Alright, alright. I wouldn’t want to third wheel on your date any longer anyways. Now, what would you two love birds like to eat?”
Kuroo sighs, putting his face in his hands in distress. The entire exchange made you laugh, getting to see Kuroo as a normal guy instead of a mob henchman was refreshing. Friends, not colleagues. Race cars, not drugs. Not to mention, it gives you butterflies thinking about the fact he talks about you to his crew.
“Surprise me.” You say, catching Lev’s attention. “Make me whatever you think I’d like. Or whatever you feel like making. I promise I’ll eat anything.” Lev grins brightly, turning towards Kuroo.
“I like her. Don’t screw this up!” Lev calls out to Kuroo as he walks away to the kitchen to start on whatever it was he would choose to serve you.
“So you talk about me, huh?” You say, smirking at Kuroo.
“Maybe.” He says, cheekily grinning at you. “You don’t talk about me to your friends?”
“I...don’t have friends.” You say, shrugging. “In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t really leave the house much.”
“You don’t have any friends?” Kuroo asks, a puzzled expression on his face.
“Nope.” You say, taking a sip of your water. “I mean, I had friends in high school. But I sort of drifted away from them after graduation and after my brother died.”
Kuroo nods, knowing that your brother’s death was a touchy topic. “Well, you have to have someone to talk to. Someone you consider a friend.” He says, diverting the conversation away from the dark and depressing stuff.
You thought to yourself for a second, trying to think of a person you found yourself spending time with and talking to, or even someone that you enjoy being around. “You.” You answer, smiling at Kuroo. “You’re kinda the only person I ever talk to.”
Kuroo smiles back at you, letting out a small chuckle. “I’m honored, princess.” Kuroo takes your hand in his, planting another gentle kiss on the top of your hand, making you blush.
“Are you usually up this late?” You ask, getting curious about Kuroo and his life away from you and your family.
He shrugs, rubbing small circles along your knuckles. “Some nights, if I have a job or if I’m working on something with Kenma. Tonight I just happened to get a text from a friend about the party this weekend, I thought it’d be a good way for you to get in contact with Karasuno.”
“Who’s party is it?”
“A good friend of mine, Kotarou Bokuto. He’s the leader of Fukurodani Squad, his racing name is Blackjack.” Kuroo answers.
“Is he…” You pause, wondering the best way to ask if Bokuto’s a criminal.
“No.” Kuroo says before you can finish your sentence. “He’s just a racer. Him and his crew are pretty well known internationally, so all his income comes from his shop. He’s...just a really good guy. Not a bad bone in his body.”
“Oh, so you do have normal friends.” You say sarcastically.
“Well, Fukurodani and Karasuno are the normal teams. They don’t do the shady stuff. Seijoh Brawlers and Nekoma Crew are pretty similar, since only me and Oikawa do the jobs. Kenma gets involved every once and awhile, but it's rare. Inarizaki though, they’re literally all drug dealers. Drug dealers who happen to also be racers.” Kuroo explains.
“That would explain why Kita doesn’t have a fancy jacket.” You say, remembering the plain black hoodie he wore the last time you saw him. “So it’s just you, Oikawa, and Kita doing the shady stuff?”
“Yeah, mainly just us. I promise not all racers are big bad guys.” Kuroo jokes to you.
“You’re not a bad guy.” You say, squeezing his hand gently. “You’re just...someone who works for a bad guy. Bad guy adjacent.” You smile at him, knowing that one of the things that held Kuroo back from pursuing anything with you was the fact he saw himself as the villain. The truth was, maybe the both of you were just bad guy adjacent — not necessarily the villains, but stuck being attached to the bad.
Kuroo gives you a sad smile, squeezing your hand back. “I guess that’s better than being the evil genius.” You knew exactly who he was talking about, who the evil genius was in this morbid epic that is your life. The mastermind, the puppeteer, the dark hand behind the curtain. Your father. It was a hard pill to swallow, but it was one that you had to, which you and Kuroo both knew. An unspoken acknowledgement of the fact that sooner or later, you would have to face your demons — that regardless of what, or who, they are — Kuroo would be right there beside you.
Your moment with Kuroo was interrupted by Lev, walking out of the kitchen carrying a plate and a bowl. “Bon appetit love birds.” He says, placing a bowl of ramen in front of Kuroo and a plate of chicken wings in front of you.
“Thanks Lev. Put it on the shop’s tab.” Kuroo says, digging into his ramen.
“Thanks Lev.” You say, smiling and picking up a chicken wing. It was still steaming, hot and fresh from the fryer.
“I hope you two enjoy. DK, you gonna be at Blackjack’s party this Saturday?” Lev asks, turning towards Kuroo.
“Yeah, we’ll be there. Do you know who the party’s for?” Kuroo asks, picking up a soft boiled egg from his ramen and eating it.
Lev shrugs, throwing a kitchen towel over his shoulder. “No clue. That guy just throws parties for the hell of it. I’ll see you both there!” He says, walking back towards the kitchen.
You take a bite of the chicken wing, and you instantly understand why Kuroo said he was a great cook. “Holy shit.” You say, looking over at Kuroo.
Kuroo peers over at you with a mouth full of noodles. “I know.” He says, mouth stuffed to the brim. He finishes chewing and wipes his mouth with a napkin. “A guy on my crew named Yamamoto always gets them. Same with Bokuto.”
“It seems like you know everyone in Tokyo.” You say, digging into your big plate of wings. Lev also left you a small bowl of rice as well as a cup of miso soup, which you also began digging into.
Kuroo laughs, picking up more noodles from his bowl. “If they race, I know them.”
“It also seems like everyone knows you.” You say, thinking back to when you first entered the shop, and all the greetings Kuroo was met with.
“Well, everyone kinda does. Y’know a title like Drift King isn’t just given to anyone.” He says, smirking at you. You roll your eyes at his arrogance.
“How lucky am I to be sharing a meal with the great Drift King.” You say jokingly. Kuroo places his chopsticks down, looking across the table at you.
“Is this not a date?” He asks seriously, eyebrows furrowed. You practically choke on your chicken, which you place down on the table. After wiping your hands on a napkin, you look at Kuroo, who was still staring at you intensely.
“Was it supposed to be?” You ask shyly, unsure if the miscommunication was on your end or his.
“Well, I kind of assumed, you asked if I was free. Now we’re eating a meal together. You never really fight it when people talk to us like a couple.” Kuroo says, fidgeting with his spoon that laid in the broth of his ramen.
You pause for a second, thinking over what he just said. You avert his gaze, staring into your miso soup which had begun to settle and separate. “Did you...want this to be a date?” You ask, looking up at him skeptically.
“I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to it being a date.” He answers carefully, but with a tone of confidence. “But, if you don’t want it to be, that’s fine.” He says quickly, trying to avoid a bad mood shift between the two of you.
You pondered again over what he said, and what it would mean for the two of you. Is a relationship the right thing to get into with everything going on? Would it even be appropriate for the two of you to be together?
“This is a date.” You say, your heart pounding away anxiously as you look into Kuroo’s hypnotizing hazel eyes. He grins proudly at you, all feelings of anxiety going away as soon as you confirmed that this was, in fact, a date. “But, it is just a date. It doesn’t mean anything...specific.”
He shrugs, picking his chopsticks up to continue eating. “That’s fair. No worries, princess. I’m in no rush here.”
You smile to yourself, content with the conclusion that you and Kuroo came to. “Thanks. I just don’t think I’m ready for anything serious right now. With everything going on with my dad.” You say, knowing that this was something Kuroo already knew.
“Yeah, I get it. Bigger fish to fry right now. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.” He says, winking at you.
The two of you had continued to eat in silence, occupied with the delicious food in front of you. At one point, Kuroo had placed a small bundle of noodles into a spoon of broth, holding it out for you.
“Aw, for me?” You say, leaning over to take the bite. The ramen was perfect, apparently everything Lev made was incredible.
“What kind of guy doesn’t share his food with his beautiful date?” He says, making you smile.
“I guess that means you deserve a chicken wing.” You say playfully, placing a wing in the empty bowl that once held your miso soup. “You should feel special, I really don’t share my food.”
The two of you had finished your meals in silence, simply enjoying one another’s company. It feels as though this small outing was a break from the reality you both dread — rather than playing detective or operating within a gang, you were just a couple out on a date.
“We better come back here one of these days.” You say, stacking your empty dishes up. You and Kuroo had finished everything, full and happy, now starting to get sleepy. The other racers in the shop had already left, and you could hear Lev cleaning in the kitchen.
“Fine by me. As long as you still consider it a date.” Kuroo says, getting up from his seat and stretching. You get up as well, and Kuroo holds out a hand for you to take, which you do. Walking alongside him with his hand in yours, you grab onto his arm with your other hand, feeling especially affectionate towards him.
“See you later Haiba!” Kuroo calls out as the two of you exit the shop, the cool night air breezing past your face, waking you up.
You let go of Kuroo’s hand to open up your car door, and Kuroo walks around to his side and climbs in. As he turns on the car, the clock reads 5:05 AM.
“It’s pretty late.” You comment, realizing how tired you had gotten. You lay your head against the car seat, turning your head to look at Kuroo.
“Yeah, I know. Do you wanna go home now?” He asks, turning towards you to see your drooping eyelids.
“Hmmm… not just yet. How about you drop me off when the sun comes up?” You ask sleepily.
“Whatever you want princess.” Kuroo says quietly, starting the car. You rest your eyes as Kuroo begins driving off, feeling content as you drift off to the sound of Kuroo switching gears. You never thought that you’d ever be comfortable enough to fall asleep in someone’s car, given how paranoid your brother’s death had made you. But with Kuroo, you were just so at home, so trusting of him. You almost couldn’t believe that before your first job with Kuroo,  you just saw him as the hot guy who worked for your dad.
Before you knew it, you were being gently awoken by Kuroo, the sun beginning to peak over the horizon. You didn’t recognize your surroundings, but you weren’t at all worried. There was never anything to worry about if Kuroo was with you.
“Where are we?” You ask, looking around. It appeared as though Kuroo took you to a park, a bit away from the city.
“We had some time to kill, I figured you’d want to see the sunrise.” He says, unbuckling his seat belt and turning to look out to the horizon. You do the same, sitting up in your seat and rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
After a few moments, you recognize the park Kuroo took you to. “When I was younger, my mom would take me and my brother here.” You say, memories coming back to you. You thought it was strange, how everything seemed to be leading back to your brother lately. It almost felt like a sign.
“I used to come here a lot too, with Kenma. Maybe we ran into each other once.” Kuroo says, leaning against the armrest. You gently lay your head against his shoulder, wrapping both of your arms around his.
“What a coincidence that we ended up here.” You say softly, relishing the moment between the two of you. The sun’s rays were barely peeking over the horizon, giving the sky an orange glow. There was a decent amount of overcast, so it gave the sun a softness to it. It was as though the sky was still drowsy, unprepared to make its first appearance for the day.
“No place I’d rather be.” Kuroo says, barely louder than a whisper. He tenderly places a kiss on the top of your head, staying there for a second longer than expected.
You slowly move your head up to look at him, your faces closer than they have ever been before. At this distance, you could really study the features on his beautiful face, the dark bags under his eyes from one too many late nights, the small scar on his cheek that was most likely from a job gone wrong, his dark lashes that framed the striking hazel eyes that now stared directly into your own.
You thought about all the other people that had stared into the same set of eyes you were now gazing into — all the women who knew him intimately, the friends who saw the good in him, the enemies who saw the evil, those whose last moments were spent looking down the barrel of a gun into these hazel eyes. To them, it probably felt like staring into the gates of hell, but for you, it felt like home. Kuroo felt like home.
His lips slowly graze against yours, almost tentative, trying to read the situation as it happens in real time. A simple ask, a gentle whisper of a question against your lips, inquiring if this was okay.
In a surge of confidence, your lips crash against his, urgency in your kiss, borderline desperation. Had you been pining for Kuroo all this time? More importantly, was he?
His hand gently made its way up to your face, as yours snaked behind his neck, pulling him closer. His other hand moved underneath his jacket that you wore, wrapping around your waist. You felt the calluses on his fingertips, rough against the smooth skin of your lower back.
The sun began beaming into the car, bringing the both of you into the light. It felt euphoric, being bathed in morning sun as you kissed Kuroo. Your heart raced in excitement as you felt Kuroo smile against your lips, and you gently sigh as he pulls away to look into your eyes.
He grins at you, his eyes studying every detail of your face. You smile back at him, feeling pure bliss.
“You kinda taste like chicken wings.” Kuroo says, chuckling softly. He gently runs his thumb against your cheek, admiring your face.
You close your eyes, shaking your head at his stupid comment. You laugh, realizing that the goofiness, the silly jokes and banter that you and Kuroo share is the reason why there were never any doubts in your mind with him. Kuroo could make you laugh despite all the darkness in your life, and that is what made you feel the way you felt. Maybe it was love, but maybe it was too soon to tell. Maybe being the girl in the passenger seat was enough for you at this time.
“Well you taste like ramen.” You say, your voice hoarse.
“What a pair we make.” Kuroo says, placing one last tender kiss on your lips.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Sweetheart, come here for a moment.” You hear your father call out to you from the hallway. You let yourself into his office, and find Kuroo sitting in the chair in front of his desk.
“What’s going on?” You ask tentatively, sitting next to Kuroo.
“Your dad has some questions. About us.” Kuroo says.
“Us?” You question, looking at Kuroo. He wore a poker face perfectly, staring directly at your father with an unwavering gaze.
“I know you two are getting close. And (y/n), sweetheart, you know I trust you. And Tetsurou, you have earned my trust over the years with your loyalty to this family. I just need to know what exactly is happening with you two.” Your father says.
“We’re friends.” You say quickly, crossing your arms defensively.
“Friends?” Kuroo asks, breaking his cool demeanor to look over at you. Your father raises an eyebrow, looking between you and Kuroo curiously as you try to figure out what this relationship is.
“Maybe more than friends. Someday. Not right this moment. But a strong maybe.” You answer shortly, fumbling over your words.
“I see.” Your father sees, nodding his head. “Are you two...being safe?”
“Dad!” You say, embarrassed by this interrogation.
“Yes, sir. Well, there hasn’t been anything that requires...safety, but when it does — IF! If it does, we will be safe. You have my word.” Kuroo says. You could hear his nerves getting the best of him, and you couldn’t help but find it entertaining how scared he sounds as he practically word vomits to your father.
“Good.” Your father says shortly, awkwardly adjusting in his seat. “Now, for business...I don’t know if I’m okay with (y/n) being seen with you.”
“What?” You ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Our family is a moving target for a lot of people, especially the Nohebi Clan. I don’t know if it’s the best idea for the two of you to be going out in public.”
“I understand, sir.” Kuroo says, in his eyes you could see his disappointment.
“Dad, that’s ridiculous.” You say, getting fed up with the passivity of the conversation. “I’m going to be leading the Sakanoshita family one day. I’m a target no matter what. But no one will take me seriously when I do take over if I’m locked away all the time. People need to know me. They need to know who’s going to be the next King of Tokyo.”
“But you just had your first job. You’re jumping into this too quickly.” Your father argues.
“Keishin had years of training. I’m playing a game of catch up here, and I think the more experience I have, the better. I can’t run an empire from the confines of this house, dad.” Again, playing the dead brother card. It’s a tricky one to play, but it always works.
Your father sighs, folding his hands in front of him. “You sure know how to argue.”
“I learned from the best.” You say, smirking.
“I’ll make a deal with you.” Your father turns toward Kuroo. “You’re getting a promotion. You’re now (y/n)’s bodyguard. She goes somewhere, you follow. If she wants to go somewhere that is potentially dangerous, don’t allow it. And you.” He turns back towards you once more. “You don’t go anywhere without him. You can go out, be social, earn your place here as a Sakanoshita. Let people learn who’s the next King of Tokyo.”
You grin, knowing that you would be able to reach an agreement with your father. “Sounds like a deal. Kuroo and I will be going to a party this Saturday.”
As you proudly saunter out of your father’s office, he calls out a question. “What party?”
“Racer party. Gotta make sure everyone knows the new Sakanoshita boss.” You call out, walking out the door and down the hallway, leaving Kuroo and your father to their business meeting.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You could hear the party before you could see it, the music blasting so loud it could be heard from down the street. Even this far from the house, there were already cars parked along the side, all shiny and suped up like Kuroo’s. A lot of time had passed since your last real social outing, but you were at ease knowing Kuroo would be there with you.
“Just a fair warning, Bokuto is...very loud.” Kuroo says, slowly driving past all the cars and making his way to the driveway of the house. The house was very modern, with a long driveway leading up to a white home with a balcony in the front, huge windows letting you peek in to see all the people inside. The music continued to grow louder and louder as you drew closer to the house, and the cars got nicer as well. Apparently only the people with fancy cars got the good parking spots.
“How loud are we talking?” You ask Kuroo as he puts the car in park and turns the engine off.
“Like...imagine the exact polar opposite of Kenma. Then make it louder. That’s Bokuto.” Kuroo explains as he gets out of the car. You do the same, walking over to his side and grabbing his hand. The two of you walk up the stairs to the door, and Kuroo swings it open without knocking. And just like that, you were officially at your first street racer party.
“Hey, it’s DK!” You hear someone shout distantly, followed by a chorus of greetings. It was just like the ramen shop, everyone being so quick to greet Kuroo.
“Hey everyone.” Kuroo says loudly, greeting everyone at once. He pulls your hand so you’re standing in front of him, leading the way into the party. Everyone gawks at you as Kuroo places a hand on your waist, coaxing you to walk further into the house.
“Does everyone know you? Should I start getting used to that sort of greeting?” You ask, maneuvering your way through the crowd.
Kuroo laughs, giving your belt loop a tug and pulling you into him, your back crashing into his strong chest. “Eventually people will start saying DK and (y/n).” He says into your ear, kissing you on the cheek. You smirk at his comment, a part of you enjoyed the attention everyone was giving you as Kuroo held you against his body. He really knew every way to feed into your ego, and you really did love it.
“HEY HEY HEY! IS THAT MY BOY DK?!” you hear a loud, chaotic voice say from the kitchen. You and Kuroo turn your heads to find the source, and you see a tall, muscular guy with spiky grey hair grinning at the both of you. You notice the grey bomber jacket he wore, meaning that he was a racer like Kuroo and Oikawa. His appearance was a bit intimidating, and his features were almost...owl-like.
“BOKUTO!” Kuroo yells, letting go of your hand to greet the host of the party. The two tall, well built men embrace in a hug, clapping each other on the back. You stand there, smiling at this new side of Kuroo. You understood what he meant by Bokuto making him feel more normal.
“Good to see you dude! Hey, Lev mentioned you were bringing a girl! Where is she?!” Bokuto asks excitedly, looking around to try and spot you.
“Right here.” You answer, moving to stand next to Kuroo. “I’m (y/n). And I’m assuming you’re the infamous Bokuto?”
Bokuto laughs, throwing his head back. “Infamous, eh? That must mean DK’s been talking about me.”
“I figured I should warn her on what she’d be walking into.” Kuroo says slyly, wrapping an arm around you. You found it endearing how affectionate Kuroo acts with you, making sure to keep you close.
“Glad I didn’t scare ya away.” Bokuto jokes, grinning at you. “Well, DK here is like a brother to me, so by extension that makes you family. Both of you just make yourselves right at home, drink whatever you want and let me know if you need anything. Mi casa es su casa, as Cypher would say. Well, he probably wouldn’t say that, but it’s definitely Spanish.”
You laugh, smiling up at Bokuto. Kuroo was right, he really is just a genuinely nice guy. Bokuto was a refreshing change from the usual dark and scary stuff  that you and Kuroo dealt with.
“Say, speaking of Cypher, where is the punk?” Kuroo asks, looking around.
“Upstairs with the rest of the Brawlers. Your guys are out back. Say, you guys want anything to drink?” Bokuto asks, turning to the counter full of liquor.
“None for me. Gotta make sure someone gets home safe.” Kuroo says, squeezing your shoulder.
“Well look at you being all chivalrous!” Bokuto says, playfully punching Kuroo’s arm. “Anything for you, (y/n)?”
“Sure, I’ll drink whatever.” You say, unsure of what to ask for. High school parties were one thing, but what the hell are you supposed to drink at a street racer’s party?
“One mystery drink coming right up.” Bokuto says, turning around. “Akaashi!”
A handsome guy with short dark brown hair turns at the sound of his name. “Can you make a drink for (y/n) pretty please?” Bokuto asks, grinning at him. Akaashi nods, putting his cup down and picking up an empty one for you. He pours some random bottles of liquor and some more random juices into a cup, handing it to you.
“Thanks.” You say, taking the cup. You take a sip, and to your surprise, it wasn’t disgusting.
“Akaashi’s kinda the drink expert. And car expert. He’s kinda good at everything.” Bokuto says, noticing your look of amazement. Akaashi rolls his eyes behind him, but you notice his ears flushing red at Bokuto’s compliment. “I’m gonna go be a good host and do my host thing, but I’ll find you two later!” Bokuto turns away from the both of you, walking towards the crowd of people outside.
“Oh and DK!” Bokuto calls out loudly, making plenty of people turn towards Kuroo. “I’m glad to see you’re finally off the market! No more bachelor’s life for you!”
“Bachelor’s life?” You question, looking up at him skeptically. Prying eyes peered over at the two of you, no doubt trying to sneak a peek at the great DK and the girl that took him off the market.
“Don’t worry about it.” He answers, rubbing the back of his neck and avoiding eye contact. Of course he was a lady’s man before you, just look at him. But just how many girls were in your place before you got there?
Kuroo takes your hand, leading you upstairs to where Cypher was. The two of you found him lounging on a couch with a bunch of other guys wearing jackets similar to his, talking and laughing with a bottle of expensive looking tequila in his hand.
“Hola amigo.” Kuroo says in a mocking tone, sitting next to Cypher. You sit next to Kuroo, and he puts his arm around you possessively.
“Hola lovers.” Oikawa slurs, lazily placing an arm around Kuroo. “Good to see you didn’t scare princesa away.” He says, nodding to you.
“You’re (y/n).” You hear someone say from the opposite end of the couch. You turn your head to see a guy with tan skin and short spiky brown hair staring at you.
“Uh, yeah.” You say, caught off guard by how many people already knew you. Seriously, how often did Kuroo talk about you?
“Oh, sorry.” He says, appearing to snap himself out of deep thought. “Cypher was telling us about the last job and mentioned you. Just put two and two together. I’m Iwaizumi.” He says, getting up and extending a hand to you. You shake his hand, smiling at him.
“That’s right, I was telling a story! Now, as I was saying…” Oikawa continues on, recounting the events of the job that you accompanied them on, silver tequila sloshing around in the glass bottle as Oikawa wildly gestures with his hands as the story progresses.
“So Sly Fox had the cargo the entire time?” Iwaizumi asks, looking at us skeptically.
“The entire time.” Kuroo says, nodding. “Speaking of the Sly Fox, where is he?”
“Outside with your crew.” a scary looking guy with deep set eyes answers. His hair looked very unique, a bleach blonde buzz cut with two black stripes running around his head.
“Thanks Mad Dog.” Kuroo says, getting up, dragging you with him. “Cypher, let’s go. Got some work talk to do with Sly Fox.” Oikawa clumsily gets up, taking the tequila with him.
The three of you walk down the stairs and out the backdoor, where you immediately see a group of guys sitting around a fire pit, half of them wearing black, and the other half wearing Nekoma bombers.
“Sly Fox!” Kuroo calls out, getting Kita’s attention. He looks up from his rolling tray, blunt in hand. “We got some business to talk about. You too, Snake Eyes.” He says, pointing at Kenma.
Kita nods, looking over at his guys and motioning for them to leave the area. Kuroo does the same, and the Nekoma Crew minus Kenma leave. You, Oikawa, and Kuroo each take a seat around the fire.
“What are we talking about?” Kenma asks, looking over at you and Kuroo. Kita continues to roll, and Oikawa slouches in his seat, taking sips from his bottle.
“Yeah, what are we talking about fellas?!” Bokuto says with a grin on his face, walking up to the group of you and grabbing a seat. You couldn’t help but smile at his behavior, his charisma.
“Work stuff, Bokuto.” Kuroo answers, giving Bokuto a warning look.
“Oh! Got it! Say no more, plausible deniability and all that jazz. You guys let me know if you need me!” He says, getting up immediately and walking away with haste. The entire time the grin on his face never wavered, he didn’t seem the least bit offended by being kicked out of the conversation.
“Bokuto knows the stuff we do, but we keep him out of it. He’s...a bit soft for our line of work. And he knows if he hears anything, he could get in trouble. So, he stays away.” Kita explains, licking his rolling paper and sealing the blunt.
“We got some new intel from the boss.” Kuroo says. Oikawa sits up, paying attention now that the real business talk had started. “We may know who gave the anonymous tip during the last job.”
“Someone we know?” Kenma asks.
Kuroo nods. “Suguru Daishou. Fangs. He’s the lead for the Nohebi Clan.”
“Nohebi?” You ask. Everyone looks over at you. “They used to work for my dad.”
“What happened to them?” Kita asks, lighting his blunt and getting it started.
“Daishou crossed my family, I guess he was trying to make a name for himself by taking on my dad. Didn’t end well.” You say, remembering overhearing your father’s work conversations with Fangs when you were in high school.
“Which would explain the grudge he has, and why he tried to bust us.” Kenma says.
“But how would he know about the move? There were no other cars on the road that night.” Oikawa points out, setting his bottle down.
“That’s the million dollar question. We still don’t know how he knew, but we do know he has eyes on us. Which means you guys and your teams need to be careful, at least until the Daishou problem is sorted out. Sound good?” Kuroo asks, looking at Oikawa and Kita. They both nod, understanding the risk that the Nohebi Clan posed.
“I’ll see what I can find out about Fangs and Nohebi.” Kenma says, which Kuroo nods to.
“Thank you. The more we know, the better.” Kuroo glances at you, meeting your eyes. “Any of you guys know where Karasuno Killers are?” He asks, looking around the group.
“Upstairs living room. You got business with them?” Oikawa asks, looking over at you.
“Something like that.” Kuroo says, taking your hand and standing up. “We’ll catch you guys later.”
“See ya.” You say, giving a half wave with your cup in your hand. You follow behind Kuroo, once again going through the house and up the stairs. You were keenly aware of the eyes that seemed to follow your every move, and you couldn’t help but notice that they were almost entirely female. What, was Kuroo such a hot commodity that you being with him tonight was a headline?
“See that, you pulled the E brake too soon.” You hear someone say from the partially shut door. You and Kuroo had made it to the room that Oikawa said the Karasuno Killers were in.
“You guys watch racing footage at parties?” Kuroo questions, slowly opening the door. Inside, there were three guys sitting on a couch in front of a TV that appeared to be playing a video of a street race.
“Not everyone is blessed with your drifting skills, DK.” One of the guys say, getting up to greet him. He had a warm smile, dark brown eyes, and short brown hair. Him and Kuroo give each other one of those bro hugs, and afterwards he turns to look at you.
“I don’t think we’ve met.” He says, extending his hand to you. “Daichi Sawamura. Mechanic for Karasuno Killers.”
“(y/n) Sakanoshita.” You say, shaking his hand. He raises his eyebrows slightly at surprise, no doubt at the mention of your family name.
“Sakanoshita?” Another guy with a buzzcut and a gruff voice says from behind Daichi.
“As in the King of Tokyo Sakanoshita?!” The third guy says, his voice higher in pitch. He wore his brown hair spiked up, with a single blonde streak right in the middle.
“Please excuse these two dumbasses, they’re not the best socially.” Daichi smiles apologetically, moving to invite you and Kuroo to join them on the couch. Behind you, Kuroo shuts the door.
“You said you’re a Sakanoshita?” The buzzcut one repeats, staring at you intensely.
“Tanaka, chill.” Daichi warns, looking over at him.
“Yeah Tanaka, you’re gonna scare her away.” The guy with the blonde streak jokes, punching Tanaka in the arm.
“Oh shut it, Noya.” Tanaka says, shoving him back. “Sorry. My sister knew someone with that last name.” He says, looking over at you once more.
“You’re Saeko’s brother?” You ask him, getting his attention. He looks surprised, almost a little scared by his sister’s name being mentioned.
“How do you know my sister?” He asks, his voice taking on a threatening tone.
“Yeah, what’s your business with big sis?” Noya asks, eyes darting between you and Kuroo.
“Take it easy, guys. We mean no harm, I swear it on my crew.” Kuroo says in a peaceful tone. Tanaka and Noya lighten up, but continue to stare at you skeptically.
“Keishin Ukai was my brother.” You say, causing the three men from Karasuno to sit straight up, simply from the mention of his name. “I know he dated your sister, and I want to talk to her.”
“No one talks to big sis. Especially not strangers.” Noya says, leaning back against the couch.
“You’re Black Lungs’ sister?” Daichi asks, looking at you with curiosity.
“Yeah. He raced under the name Ukai to get away from my family. And I know about the accident. I’m sorry Tanaka.” You say sincerely, looking at Tanaka. You didn’t know to what extent Saeko was injured, but you assumed that she had to have taken some amount of damage.
Tanaka shrugs, looking away. “It’s all good. Why do you need to talk to my sister?”
“I need to know the truth about my brother. About how he died. And I heard that your sister and my brother were pretty close, I just want to talk to her about him.” You say, nearly begging.
Tanaka sat for a second, thinking of a response. “My sister...she doesn’t talk to many people nowadays. She hasn’t been the same since your brother passed. Black Lung was her soulmate, or whatever.” He says awkwardly, shifting in his seat. “I’m sorry, but I don’t want to put her through reliving that night just for your sake. I really am sorry, (y/n), about your brother. He was a cool dude.”
You sigh, taking a long drink from your cup. You had a feeling it would go like this, but you couldn’t help feeling disappointed by the outcome.
“We think we know the truth about his death.” Kuroo says, making everyone in the room look at him. “We know it wasn’t an accident.” You knew he was taking a risk saying this, telling these guys the suspicions you held. He was gamlbing with the only intel the two of you had.
“What do you mean the truth? His death was a tragic accident and that’s that.” Daichi says in an assertive tone.
“Daichi, it’s okay.” Tanaka says quietly, his eyes not moving from your own. “You two know the truth? Or just theories?” He questions you.
“We...have theories. But I think that talking to your sister will help point us in the right direction. Or maybe even give us exactly what we need to prove our theories.” You say, trying your hardest to convince Tanaka.
Tanaka sighs, looking at the TV, which remained paused on a frame of an orange Mitsubishi. “I don’t know.”
“No one knows you.” Noya points out, getting your attention. “You don’t belong to any crew, I know you’re here with DK but you aren’t officially a part of Nekoma. Everyone knows your dad is a shady dude. And Saeko shouldn’t have to relive Black Lung’s death for a stranger.”
“You’re right.” You say, knowing that everything he was saying was correct. You were a stranger, the idea of a dead street racer’s little sister suddenly coming out of hiding to ask a thousand questions about her brother’s death was far fetched, even for you. “You guys have no reason to trust me, or to let me talk to Saeko. But I’m desperate. I just — I need to know what happened to my brother. I’ll do anything.”
“What do you think Saeko would want? What would she have (y/n) do to prove herself?” Kuroo asks.
“I know exactly what she would want.” Tanaka says, sighing and sitting up. “A race. A memorial for Black Lung. We haven’t had one for a while, but the last time she had one, all the money raised from it went to...a memorial fund. For your brother.”
“A memorial fund? For Keishin?” You question, uncertain why the son of a millionaire needed a memorial fund.
“It goes to Saeko. Helps keep the shop open, and funds her research into what happened to your brother.” Daichi answers.
“So I’m not the only one with theories.” You say, beginning to understand. “I’m assuming it goes to P.I.’s, buying access to private files, stuff like that?”
“We can neither confirm nor deny that.” Noya says in a robotic tone, like it was a line he was taught to say.
“If we do the memorial race, who’s racing?” Kuroo asks, changing the topic.
“Me.” You answer immediately, making everyone look at you in shock. “A Black Lung memorial race, with his little sister making her racing debut. It could be big. Raise a lot of money. I know the type of power my family name has in this city.”
“And it would prove to Saeko that you’re serious about meeting her.” Daichi points out.
“Okay, how about this.” Tanaka says, shifting in his seat once more. “You and me, headline race. If we can get some more racers in on this, then great. If you win, you can meet Saeko. If you don’t, then oh well. At least she’ll get some more funds for her...side project.”
“I can get some more racers in on this.” Kuroo says.
“Perfect. We got a deal, you two?” Daichi asks, looking between you and Tanaka. You nod, sticking your hand out.
“Deal.” Tanaka says, shaking your hand.
“Looks like we got a race to plan.” Daichi says, grinning at Kuroo.
Kuroo smirks, getting up. “I’ll go start recruiting some more racers.”
You follow Kuroo, getting up and heading for the door. “I’ll see you on the road, cue ball.” You say, smirking at Tanaka. You slowly head out, leaving the door cracked open.
“HA! CUE BALL! Get it, cause you’re freakin bald!” Noya yells, cackling with laughter. You chuckle, their conservation fading out as you walk with Kuroo back downstairs.
For about an hour or so, you and Kuroo went around the party, mingling with racers, recruiting them for the Black Lung memorial. You got at least enough people for three more races. So far, the lineup was you vs. Tanaka, Kuroo vs. Bokuto, Iwaizumi vs. Atsumu Miya from Inarizaki, and Oikawa vs. Kita. Kuroo pointed out that there would be a good turnout for the memorial given how many great racers were on the bracket, which made you both nervous and hopeful.
“So, since when do you race?” Kuroo asks you, sitting down on the couch.
“I’m pretty sure I can figure it out.” You say, sitting down next to him, draping your legs over his. “Gas pedal makes car go vroom vroom. Seems simple enough.” You joke to him, making him roll his eyes.
“Sounds like someone needs a teacher.” He says, leaning closer to you.
“Sounds like someone wants to teach me.” You say, closing the gap between the two of you, kissing him.
A buzz from your pocket interrupts you, causing you to pull away from Kuroo and take your phone out.
‘Call me now.’ the text read from your dad. Kuroo saw it over your shoulder, and immediately sat up.
“Dad, is everything okay?” You ask, trying to drown out the sound of the party.
“You need to get out of there, have Kuroo take you somewhere safe. Nohebi is looking for us.” Your dad says in a rushed tone. You hear some shuffling on his end, and your mother’s voice in the distance.
“What? Nohebi knows I’m here?” You ask. Kuroo looks at you with concern, seemingly ready to get up and run at any moment.
“Daishou has eyes everywhere. Don’t come home, your mother and I won’t be here. Tell Kuroo to protect you no matter what.” There’s a brief moment of silence between the two of you. “Your mom and I love you, sweetheart. We’ll see you soon.” Three beeps signal the end of the call.
“We need to go. Nohebi’s coming.” You say, jumping up. Kuroo follows suit.
“I’ll let the guys know.” Kuroo says, beginning to race towards the backyard where Inarizaki, Seijoh, and Nekoma were hanging out.
You follow him out, trailing behind him as he approaches Cypher and Sly Fox. Before you can catch up to him, he’s already heading back towards you, taking your hand and dragging you through the house and out the front door.
“Will everyone be okay?” You ask him, running to the car. You hop in, Kuroo doing the same and turning the car on.
“Between Seijoh, Inarizaki, and Nekoma, they have Nohebi outnumbered three to one. They won’t try anything at a party this crowded. Daishou’s too smart to fight a losing battle.” Kuroo says, immediately racing away from the party, the houses of the neighborhood zooming past your line of sight. “The gangs aren’t the target anyways. We are.”
As if on cue, you see in the rearview mirror three cars pull up to the party, and Daishou climbs out of one of them. He was vaguely familiar, you could barely recall seeing him in your father’s office, but you knew that he would recognize you and Kuroo in a heartbeat.
“We got out just in time.” You say, looking over at Kuroo.
“Barely. We’re not in the clear just yet princess, still need to get somewhere safe.” Kuroo says shortly, continuing to fly down the empty Tokyo streets. “We don’t know if Daishou had eyes on us as we left. And as soon as he realizes we aren’t there, they’re gonna be all over the city looking for us.”
“So where do we go?” You ask him.
Kuroo pauses, staring out at the freeway in front of the two of you. “My safehouse. It’s under a bogus name, in an old neighborhood. They won’t know to look there.”
You nod, sighing and rubbing your eyes. You didn’t feel even the slightest bit tipsy from the drink you had earlier. How did the night go bad so quickly?
“Hey.” Kuroo says gently, reaching over to hold your hand. “Everything will be okay. As soon as we’re at the safehouse, we’ll be in the clear. And I’m sure your mom and dad are somewhere safe as well.”
His reassurance goes a long way, easing your nerves and allowing you to relax a little. There was no use stressing yourself out while you’re stuck in the car, driving to an unknown destination.
After about 50 minutes of silent driving, Kuroo finally pulls off of the freeway and enters an old, run down neighborhood. Everything was quiet, and the streetlights overhead were flickering in the darkness.
“Home sweet home.” Kuroo says, pulling into an alley next to an apartment building. He turns the car off, going to the trunk. You get out as well, watching Kuroo as he drapes a large tarp over the car. A bright red luxury car would definitely stand out in a neighborhood like this.
Kuroo takes your hand and leads you up the apartment complex stairs to a door labeled ‘A402’. With one of the many keys on his keychain, Kuroo unlocks the door, opening it for you.
There wasn’t anything very special about the apartment, it seemed like the type of place a person would crash at for a night or two then leave. A small but functional kitchen, a modestly sized living area with a couch and a TV. As you continue further into the apartment, you see a quaint bathroom with a standing shower, and a bedroom barely big enough to fit a full sized bed.
“There’s some pillows and stuff in the hall closet. And some extra clothes in the bedroom.” Kuroo says, setting his keys on the counter and pulling out his phone. As you reach for a light switch, Kuroo stops you. “Wait, don’t. We shouldn’t make it look like anyone’s home, just in case. At least until I hear back from Kenma.”
Although his paranoia seemed a bit much for you, you knew that it was for a good reason. If the Nohebi Clan was enough of a threat to make your father go into hiding, no precaution was too extreme.
“I’m gonna go change.” You call out to him, grabbing a spare shirt and pair of men’s boxers from the bedroom closet. You gently close the door, beginning to strip off your party outfit and changing into Kuroo’s clothes.
After taking a moment to recollect your thoughts, you decide there was no use worrying about things that were out of your control. Your mother and father, the race that you volunteered for, even the party you just fled from. What was in your control, however, was the bed.
“I’ll put some sheets on the bed.” You shout out to Kuroo once more, grabbing the pillows and sheets from the closet. It felt almost hotel-like, the way everything was pristine and untouched. At least you knew this wasn’t the sort of place Kuroo took other girls.
“Perfect.” You say, fluffing the pillows one last time, then stepping back to admire your work.
“I heard back from Kenma.” Kuroo says, pushing the door open and entering the room. He flops onto the bed, ruining your perfect sheets and collapsing your freshly fluffed pillows.
You sigh in annoyance, closing your eyes to keep your cool. “What did he say?” You ask, sitting next to Kuroo.
“Everything’s all good. Daishou and his guys showed up, asked for us. Oikawa and Kita were waiting for them, so they barely even made it past the front door. Told them we left a while ago, and that they didn’t know where we went.” Kuroo rubs his forehead with his hands, pushing his hair back. In the dim light that radiated from the street lamps outside, you could see the exhaustion in his eyes.
“No one got hurt? Are they still out looking for us?” You ask, your brain going a thousand miles an hour.
“Everyone's fine.” Kuroo says gently, taking your hand. “From what Kenma knows, they gave up looking for us and now they’re trying to find your dad. I think they’re assuming I brought you to them.”
You breathe another sigh of relief. The two of you were finally in the clear, finally safe, at least for tonight. “So we’re okay? At least for now?”
“For now, yes. In the morning Kenma will let me know if we’re all clear to go back to your place. But for right now, we’re safe.” Kuroo says, turning over to face you, wrapping his arms around your waist, resting his head on your thigh.
“We’re safe.” You whisper to yourself, running your fingers through Kuroo’s unruly black hair. The moment of calm being shared between the two of you is disrupted by a loud rumbling from your stomach.
“You hungry?” Kuroo asks, grinning against your leg.
“Maybe.” You say, realizing how hungry you’ve been all night. Is eating at parties still not cool, or was that only a high school thing? You didn’t see anyone else eating at Bokuto’s, so you assume it still wasn’t. Or maybe you were too worried about everyone staring at you to notice if anyone was eating.
“I’ll go grab some stuff at the convenience store.” Kuroo says, getting up and grabbing his jacket. “Onigiri?”
“And some ramen please.” You request politely, smiling sweetly at him. “Be careful.”
“Always am, princess.” He says, leaning down to plant a kiss on your lips.
Kuroo exits the room and you hear the front door shut and lock. You found yourself in a silent, dark apartment, alone.
‘Might as well see if the TV works.’ you think to yourself, getting up and walking to the living room and plopping down on the couch. Just like the bed, it felt brand new, as if you were the first person to sit on it.
After flicking the TV on, you mindlessly scroll through channels, trying to find something to occupy your mind. It felt wrong, how everything was so dangerous and scary tonight, but all that you could think of was that one thing Bokuto said. ‘No more bachelor’s life for you!’ What does that even mean?
Grabbing your phone, you realize that you really had no one to talk to. Normal girls would text their best friend, or even just a regular friend when they want to talk about boy problems. Normal girls, with normal friends and safe lives. Maybe Kuroo really is the only person you talk to.
You scroll through your recent messages, trying to find anyone to talk to. Dad — no. For obvious reasons. Mom — maybe on a regular day, but not right now. Kuroo — big no, for even more obvious reasons. Dentist — yeah, if you were really that desperate.
“I guess I could talk to myself.” You mutter out loud. After a moment of lonesome silence, you sigh. “Yeah, no. I’m not that crazy.”
What kind of bachelor’s life was Kuroo living before you came along, before that early morning watching the sunrise? You always assumed he was the no strings attached sort of guy, considering the type of work he does. But then again, the only times you ever saw him was when he was working. Maybe the Kuroo you knew was just one side, the professional side. Of course he let his guard down around you, joking and flirting when you were alone. It had been that way for as long as you could remember, since Kuroo started working for your dad. But maybe that was just another side, the side for girls he was interested in. Maybe you weren’t the only one who got to see that side. You saw two out of however many sides he has — the flirt and the henchman. Maybe you didn’t know him at all.
The sound of the front door creaking open draws you out of your thoughts, and you look up to see Kuroo with a convenience store bag filled with food.
“I wasn’t sure which onigiri you’d want, so I got one of each.” He says, plopping a bag filled with various onigiris onto the living room table. “And I got two ramens, spicy and regular. I’ll take whichever one you don’t want.”
“Spicy please.” You say, chuckling at how much food Kuroo got for just the two of you. Kuroo shrugs his jacket off, leaving it on the couch. Grabbing the bag with the ramen, he walks into the kitchen, flicking the lights on.
“One spicy ramen coming right up.” He says, pulling a pot out of the cupboard. You grab a salmon onigiri from the bag in front of you, unwrapping it and taking a bite.
“How often do you use this place?” You ask, watching Kuroo as he fills the pot with water and puts it on the stove.
“Once in a blue moon, really. If a job goes wrong and I need a place to lay low, I stay here. Or if I need a place to crash and don’t feel like driving home.” He answers.
“Where do you live, anyways?”
“Close by the Nekoma shop, same building as Kenma. We talked about being roommates for a while, but we agreed we’d probably start hating one another.” Kuroo chuckles to himself, walking back to the living room to grab an onigiri for himself.
“So it’s just you?” You ask, trying to steer the conversation in your favor.
“Me and Yoruichi.”
“Yoruichi?” You ask, feeling like you knew the name from somewhere. Maybe an old anime?
“My cat.” He says, grinning. “I found her on a job, actually. She kept following me around and just jumped into my car when I wasn’t looking.”
“Sounds like a pretty good life.” You say, trying your hardest to be subtle. “A bachelor’s life.” Okay, not so subtle.
“I knew you were still thinking about that.” Kuroo says, laughing. “You know you can just ask me stuff. No need to try and jump over hurdles trying to talk to me.”
“I’m not really good at this.” You admit. “You know...talking. Being open. Relationship stuff.”
“Relationship, huh?” Kuroo asks, turning to you and smirking. The pot of water behind him was at a rolling boil, letting steam into the kitchen.
You roll your eyes, your cheeks were definitely blushing but you hope that Kuroo couldn’t see it in the dim light. “Whatever this is.” You say quietly, knowing that a real label was the last thing either of you were thinking of with all the things you both were dealing with.
“Like I said, ask me anything.” Kuroo says, his back turned to you as he stirred the ramen.
“What did Bokuto mean by ‘a bachelor’s life’?” You ask, getting up to join Kuroo in the kitchen. You lean against the counter opposite the stove, staring at Kuroo’s muscular back.
“I was...definitely a bachelor. For a while.” Kuroo says, back still turned to you.
“Like...you had…” you say, trailing off. You were torn between saying “hoes” or “bitches”.
“I had...some girls that I spent time with. Nothing serious, though. I always made sure to keep things casual.” The conversation felt tense, slowly but surely growing more and more awkward as more details were being revealed.
“I don’t really care about how many there were.” You say quickly, reassuring Kuroo and clearing some of the tension. “I don’t care who they are either. But is there anyone I should be worried about? It felt like everyone was staring at me at the party.” The memory of all the girls at the party staring at you curiously was persisting in your mind.
“No one to worry about, really. None of them seem like the type to backstab, especially considering soon everyone will know you’re a Sakanoshita.” Kuroo says slyly, referring to the upcoming race in memory of your brother. You knew that as soon as everyone learned of your family, your sense of anonymity in Kuroo’s world would be gone.
“I have one more question.” You say, moving to stand next to the stove, nearly in front of Kuroo. “If those girls were nothing, and you usually keep things casual, what are we?”
Kuroo pauses, thinking for a moment before setting down his chopsticks and turning the heat to a simmer. Turning to you, he places his hands on either side of the counter next to you, trapping you underneath him. Your heart raced as you felt your breath catch in your throat, caught off guard by Kuroo’s sudden closeness to you.
“I’m whatever you want me to be.” He says, barely louder than a whisper, his lips hovering over yours.
“You’re mine.” You say, your gaze bouncing from his eyes to his lips. Kuroo moves closer to you, his body pressing against yours.
“I’m yours.” He responds, wrapping one of his arms around your waist.
“Kuroo…” You whisper, lips grazing his. He reaches next to you, turning the stove off. In an instant, his lips crash against yours. You wrap your arms around his neck, desperate for more — more contact, more kisses, more Kuroo. The entire night Kuroo kept you close to him, never leaving your side at the party, always making sure to let his kisses linger a few seconds longer than normal. All the pent up tension was finally being released, the adrenaline rush that came with all the drama from tonight only fueled the boldness of yours and Kuroo’s actions.
You grind your hips against him, making him groan. You were very aware of two things; his growing member, hard against your body, and the sudden wetness between your legs.
You gently push against Kuroo, freeing yourself from underneath him. His lips stay attached to yours, refusing to break the seal the two of you made. In one swift motion, you release from his grasp, and without looking back, you calmly walk to the bedroom, leaving Kuroo standing in the kitchen alone, pining for more.
“Are you coming or not? Make sure you turn off the stove.” You call behind you, toying with Kuroo. You grin to yourself, knowing that you were just as irresistible to him as he was to you.
You open the bedroom door, behind you Kuroo’s footsteps grew closer and closer. Suddenly, you feel his arms around your waist again, and in an instant Kuroo is in front of you grabbing you by the throat, moving you so your back is against the door, pushing you backwards to shut it.
“Such a pretty princess.” Kuroo says, closing the gap between you two. You felt your heart rate quickening, being trapped under Kuroo’s touch like this. A light moan escapes your lips, this dominant side of Kuroo makes you want him even more. His hand wrapped around your throat, his hard cock against your leg, the whole room felt electrified.
“Kuroo please.” You whisper, eager for more.
“You want me?” Kuroo asks, his lips barely touching yours. He wraps his other arm around you, grabbing your ass and pulling you against his body. The only thing that stopped the two of you from being directly pressed against one another was his hand around your throat.
“Yes.” You answer breathlessly, moving your head forward, your lips colliding with his. Kuroo breathes heavily, removing his hand from your throat and moving to grab your ass. Almost by instinct, you give a light jump, wrapping your legs around Kuroo’s waist, his hands supporting you and keeping you from falling.
Kuroo moves backwards until his legs hit the bed, then he slowly sits and reclines backwards, careful not to drop you or break the kiss. He maintains a firm grip on your ass as you straddle him grinding your hips against his, yearning for more friction between the bulge being held back by his jeans and your throbbing pussy.
His fingers gently graze at the bottom of your shirt, tugging it upwards. You take the hint, sitting up and removing your top effortlessly. Kuroo does the same, sitting up slightly and lifting his shirt over his head. In the dim glow of the street light from outside, you could just barely make out the dragon tattoo on that stretched from his neck down his arm.
“Take these off.” Kuroo says, rubbing your thighs.
“What’s the magic word?” You tease.
“Now.” He says, reaching for your neck, forcefully pulling you down to look him in the eyes. You smirk, relishing in the fact you were able to see this side of Kuroo. There was no fear within you as he tightened his grip around your throat, only more and more arousal at the sight of the great Drift King grasping for control.
Gently, you take hold of his wrist, making him let go of your neck. After placing a small kiss on his thumb, you get up, unbuttoning your pants. Kuroo’s eyes never left you, he was hypnotized, his hand rubbing his hardened crotch. He almost looked as if he was stuck in a trance, watching you undress before him, as if you were something out of a magazine that had come to life right before his eyes.
Reaching behind you, you unclip your bra, letting it fall to the floor, your nipples already rock hard. Kuroo lets out a small “fuck”, watching you in amazement. You turn to look at him, feeling no need to cover your nude body, no need to hide from him. You want him to see you, it turns you on watching him touch himself as he stares at you with lust in his eyes. At this moment, you wanted nothing more than to climb into that bed with him and fuck all night long.
You take a few steps closer to him, bending down and reaching for his pants, smirking as you hear his breath catch in his throat. Kuroo moves his hands away, hoisting himself up on his elbows to watch you. After unbuttoning and unzipping his pants, he moves slightly to allow you to remove his pants — and to his surprise — his underwear as well.
If there was a god out there, you were certain that they personally blessed Tetsurou Kuroo with a gorgeous penis. Standing perfectly erect in front of you, you stop for a moment to simply take it all in. The size, the girth, the slight lean to the left, the vein popping out in excitement, the droplets of precum gathering on the head. At just the mere sight of his cock, you felt a fire light inside of you, eager to pleasure him.
“You just gonna sit and stare all night?” Kuroo asks sarcastically, looking down at you with a smirk. Without saying a word, you gently lick the precum off of the head, your eyes not leaving his. He gently sighs, his smirk falling as his mouth stays slightly agape. You will yourself to salivate, and in one seemingly effortless motion, you take his entire length in your mouth, the tip hitting the back of your throat. You gag slightly, trying your hardest to relax your throat to keep his dick in your mouth. Kuroo’s head falls back in pleasure, and a beautiful moan escapes his lips.
“Goddamn, princess.” Kuroo says, lazily picking his head up to look you in your eyes. Once again maintaining eye contact, you slowly withdraw his dick from your mouth, allowing your drool to dribble from your mouth onto his penis. Kuroo’s chest continued to rise and fall heavily, watching your every move. Licking one long stripe along the vein of his penis, you once again take him in your mouth, this time creating a rhythm, your head bobbing up and down as your hand strokes the length that you couldn’t fit, letting your spit lubricate his cock.
You begin to lose yourself in the moment, allowing yourself to close your eyes and bask in the sound of Kuroo’s soft groans as you pleasure him.
“Come here.” Kuroo says, breaking your concentration. You slowly take his length out of your mouth, leaving it wet with your saliva. Kuroo reaches for your thighs, pulling you upwards to look you straight into your eyes as you hover over him, his wet length hitting your inner thigh.
“Sit on my face.” Kuroo commands roughly, hands wandering up and down your legs and ass, his fingers gently brushing the lips of your vagina. You shiver at the small contact made, ready for more. After planting a short kiss on Kuroo’s lips, you let him guide you until your pussy is just barely hovering over his lips, his hands securely gripping your thighs, your bare tits practically glowing in the dim light streaming in from the empty street. You felt so defenseless, exposing yourself as Kuroo stared up at your naked body, you both knew he was strong enough to hold you down against his mouth if he wanted to.
Slowly, tentatively, you lower yourself down, your heart pounding out of your chest in excitement. Without missing a beat, Kuroo’s large hands tighten their grip on your thighs, holding you steady as his tongue furiously licks your pussy, practically making you double over in ecstasy.
Your moans and whimpers of pleasure echo through the room, and Kuroo takes this as a signal to quicken his pace, his tongue licking fast strokes against your clit and dipping slightly into your hole. His pace continued getting faster and faster, tongue alternating between circling your clit and deeply thrusting into your hole. You were certain he was leaving bruises on your thighs, trying to keep you still against his devilish mouth. Gripping tightly onto his hair, you feel yourself beginning to come undone on top of him, your walls tightening as you grind your hips against Kuroo’s face, his nose nudging against your clit, the pace never slowing down. You weren’t 100% sure he could breathe, but you didn’t really care. All that mattered to you was reaching your climax with Kuroo’s face buried in your pussy.
“Kuroo!” You moan out, pulling his hair a little harder as you feel your walls pounding as you hit your peak, struggling screams escaping your mouth as Kuroo continues gently lapping at your clit as you cum. It took everything in you just to stay upright, the intensity of Kuroo’s mouth never letting up even as you came. You ride out your high on Kuroo’s face, slowly releasing your grip on his head as he takes his hands off your thighs.
As you continue to try to catch your breath, you lift yourself up, giving Kuroo room to breathe. He breathes deeply as well, looking up at you with a smirk.
“You sound cute when you scream my name.” He says smugly, rubbing your thigh. You roll your eyes, your cheeks burning. Shifting backwards, you widen your stance to straddle his waist again, the tip of his penis just barely grazing the lips of your drenched pussy.
“And I like you better when you’re quiet.” You say, just barely louder than a whisper. Your face was once again centimeters away from his, and his lips were still glistening with your cum. Without hesitation Kuroo’s lips meet yours, sloppy, wet kisses being swapped between the two of you as your hand takes hold of his dick, lining it up with your entrance.
You watch as Kuroo pulls away from the kiss, his face contorting in satisfaction as you sink into him. You sigh, closing your eyes as his length slowly starts filling you up. There was only a little resistance, your walls having to stretch to adjust to his size. But even so, he felt so comfortable inside of you. It felt as if the two of you were made for one another.
You feel your eyes roll back as you shift your hips, his dick twitching slightly inside of you. Kuroo’s hands gripped onto your ass deeply, urging you to move, to create some sort of friction. With the support of his hands, you move your hips upwards, then downwards, up, down, up, down, two bodies moving almost perfectly in sync as the room filled with the sounds of Kuroo’s moans and your screams.
The two of you kept a rhythmic pace to maintain the high you were both building, his hands guiding your hips as you steadily let your body rise and fall against his. Fireworks exploded at your core every time your hips collided with his, the head of his dick ramming against your cervix.
After some time you slow down, your legs were getting more and more tired as you rocked against him. Kuroo senses your exhaustion and effortlessly flips you over onto your back, getting on top of you. Lining up his rock hard cock at your entrance, he looks down at you with a malicious grin.
“So desperate for my dick, huh princess?” Kuroo teases, letting the head of his penis rub along your soaking wet pussy, your walls clenching every time it barely grazes your clit.
“Just get inside me already.” You demand, your body aching for more. You were so close to reaching your second high, and you were more than ready to keep going all night if Kuroo wanted to.
“What’s the magic word?” Kuroo says, using your words from earlier against you. He slowly lowers himself until his lips graze your hardened nipple. The tip of his dick continues to rub against you, making your pussy throb. Kuroo flicks your nipple with his tongue, before taking it between his teeth and nibbling softly, causing you to yelp at the sudden contact. Kuroo moves away from your nipple, sucking hard on the soft tissue of your breasts, leaving hickeys scattered across your chest.
“Please fuck me Kuroo!” You beg, unable to take any more stimulation. You feel Kuroo chuckle against your skin, right before he finally lets his tip enter you. He pushes into you at a painstakingly slow rate, making you groan in anticipation, shutting your eyes tightly. Kuroo always left you yearning for more, lusting for his touch.
Kuroo moves his head upwards, nestling his face into your neck as he gradually increases his pace. He leaves small kisses along your neck, taking your ear lobe between his teeth and tugging on it, making your eyes roll back as you let out a loud moan. You shift underneath him, bucking your hips upwards as you wrap your legs around his waist. Kuroo groans into your neck, letting his head rest against your shoulder as he continues to pound into you, leaving shockwaves running through your body with every thrust.
“Kuroo, please make me cum.” You moan out, tangling your hands in his hair. Kuroo quickly pushes himself upward, hoisting your legs up and using his thighs to keep your hips suspended in the air, his dick still deep in you. Kuroo smirks as he sees your eyes roll back in pleasure, your hands grasping at the sheets around you, your breasts bouncing with every thrust. His smirk only grows wider as he begins rubbing small circles on your clit with his thumb, causing you to scream so loud you were certain everyone in the neighborhood could hear you.
With this added stimulation, you felt yourself getting closer to your climax much faster, the pressure building up in your pussy as Kuroo continues fucking you from this new angle. Without any warning, you feel your walls clenching like a vice around Kuroo’s dick, causing Kuroo to take his thumb off of your clit so his hands could grab your waist, keeping you still as you cum all over him.
Your climax is only further intensified by Kuroo continuing to pound into your tight cunt, aching for his own release. The feeling of your vaginal walls spasming around his cock was more than enough for him, but getting to see you scream in pleasure as he sends you over the edge is what really did it for him. To him, there was no better sight than seeing his princess cum.
It didn’t take long until Kuroo let out a throaty groan, his grip on your hips tightening as he fucks you even harder.
“Cum inside of me.” You barely make out, your body overrun with satisfaction. Kuroo leans down once more, pinning your hands over your head as you wrap your legs around him. Looking deeply into his eyes, you watch as his face contorts in ecstasy, his forehead dropping against yours. You feel his cock twitch inside of you, and you feel your cunt fill up with Kuroo’s hot cum.
After a last few sloppy thrusts, Kuroo pulls out of you, leaving you lying on the bed breathless, your chest rising and falling as you try to gain your composure. Your pussy was practically bursting with liquids, both yours and his. Kuroo briskly walks over to the bathroom, and you hear some shuffling and the sink running. Kuroo returns with a wet washcloth, kneeling in front of your soaking wet vagina and tenderly wiping up any cum that was on you.
“Such a gentleman.” You comment, looking down at Kuroo as he concentrates on cleaning you up. He looks up at you, smiling when he realizes you were watching him.
“Only the best for my girl.” He says, getting up and wiping his dick off with the rag. You move to lay on your side, feeling more than content with the events that just occurred. Kuroo lays next to you, looking into your eyes.
“My girl?” You repeat back at him, squinting your eyes skeptically. Kuroo rolls his eyes, throwing his arm around your waist and pulling you next to him.
“I’m yours. You’re mine. That’s the deal.” He says, winking at you.
“Since when am I yours?” You ask teasingly, knowing damn well that there was no arguing that you and Kuroo belonged to one another.
“Since you screamed my name so loud the entire neighborhood heard you.” Kuroo says, smirking. “The hickeys speak for themselves too. They’re like a personal tag.”
“Shut up.” You say, rolling your eyes at his lewd comments. You couldn’t hide the smile on your face as you thought about the idea of being Kuroo’s. “I’m yours.” You whisper, inching your face closer to Kuroo’s.
“You’re mine.” Kuroo responds back, placing a loving kiss on your lips. There wasn’t any lust, any heat in this kiss, which was a drastic change from the absolutely filthy deeds the two of you were just committing. It was a simple kiss, sealing the deal the two of you made.
“Round two after dinner?” Kuroo asks jokingly, pulling away from your kiss. You laugh, resting your forehead against his, lazily nodding at the proposal of more sex.
Alone with Kuroo in that tiny little safehouse, you felt more at home than you had felt in years. Maybe it was the intensity of everything that happened that night, maybe it was the sense of belonging you felt as you laid in Kuroo’s arms, maybe it was the way your heart fluttered every time you heard Kuroo say “I’m yours”. Perhaps it was all of it, all of these emotions and sensations coming together, a light in the middle of the darkest storm that raged on around you, right outside the walls of this apartment. That storm wasn’t going to stop, and you and Kuroo were fully aware of the dangers that lurked around the corner for the both of you. But maybe the comfort the two of you found in one another was more than just a shelter from the impending storm. A solemn promise that regardless of the future that lay ahead, there was one constant that would remain true — he is yours, and you are his.
Pick and Mix Collection
A selection of Little Tracy fics for @gordonthegreatesttracy and @psychoseal
All can be found with other short stories in my Pick & Mix Collection on AO3 & FFNet: CreativeGirl29
School Reports. Aged 8.
Scott Tracy:
Scott is a bright young boy, who is extremely popular with all his classmates. He is always first to put himself forward for team challenges and is a natural team leader. However, Scott tends to be impulsive and rush into an activity or challenge, which on occasions as cost him a higher mark. Scott excels in English, Geography and Physical Education but tends to struggle in maths.
John Tracy:
John is a quiet, introspective and intelligent young man, who excels in Science, Maths, English and Information Technology. John as the potential to go far in life and could be moved up a grade if he was to apply himself to what he once referred to as the ‘boring subjects’ and stop correcting myself and my other colleagues when we are trying to teach.
Virgil Tracy:
Virgil is a lovely, thoughtful boy, who always listens in class, speaks when he is spoken to, and on occasions has gone out of his way to support other classmates when they are struggling. Virgil has a gift for art, music and history. He also recently earned top marks when we taught first-aid in his class. However, I would like to bring to your attention Virgil’s tendency to day dream when he is not taking part in one of his favourite subjects.
Gordon Tracy:
Gordon is a conundrum and seems to have two sides to him. On the one side, you have the sweet boy who will always be there for his friends, excels in physical education, especially swimming and did surprisingly well when we did our big baking day. However, the other side of Gordon has a habit of constantly chatting in class, despite being asked to be quiet and as unfortunately become known as the school clown. If Gordon were to apply himself in all his work instead of drawing pictures of himself as a fish, he could gain good marks in all his classes.
Alan Tracy:
Alan is a smart boy who as always got a smile on his face. When he is interested in a subject, or as been caught by an idea he is an absolute pleasure to teach. However, like his brother before him, he tends to chat in class, and on many occasions, has had his portable computer console confiscated when he has been found playing on it, instead of learning. Alan struggles in History but excels in science and maths. I would also like to bring to your attention Alan’s report on ‘Our Heroes.’ All the children in his class decided to write about a celebrity, sports personality or historical figure. Instead, Alan wrote a fantastic and touching report where he named his older brother John as his hero and who he would most like to be like when he grows up.
STAR BOY:
"John you've been told not to run in the house." His father complained, catching his 4-year-old son in his arms.
"I'm not John." John answered with a serious face.
"Oh, you're not?" Jeff remarked, observing the cape John had attempted to make out of his comfort blanket. "Well, I must say, you certainly look like my John!"
"Shush! Daddy." John whispered. No one can know my secret ident…" John paused, thinking about the word he was struggling to say. "Ident…"
Jeff smiled. "Identity."
John grinned. "Yeah, my secret identity."
"So, who are you then?" Jeff inquired curiously.
"I'm Star Boy." John shouted, as he managed to struggle free and started running around in circles.
Jeff let out a chuckle at his son's exuberance. "So, Star Boy. What powers do you have?"
"Fly in space." John cried with joy.
"And what's your current mission Jo… I mean Star Boy?"
John ground himself to a sudden halt. "Find baby Virgie!" He stated with a thoughtful look.
"Virgil." Jeff corrected. "And he's not missing, he's nice and safe in your mummy's tummy."
John stared at his dad in confusion. "But I heard you and mummy say that he was late, and then mummy said if he didn't turn up soon she would…"
"Okay, John." Jeff said cutting John off. He would have to have a word to Lucille about what John had overheard. He knew she would be mortified but John seemed to have exceptional hearing and they both knew that their boy was very bright for his age. Jeff held his arms out for his current youngest son. John happily ran into them, and let himself be pulled up onto his father's lap. "Now, Virgil is still safe in your mummy's tummy, the reason he's late is because your mum has made it so comfortable in there that he doesn't want to leave yet."
"But I want to find him, cause then I'll get to be big brother like Scotty." John frowned.
Jeff pulled John into a warm hug. "And you will be a brilliant big brother just like Scott." He assured him.
As Jeff held John tightly in his arms, a shout from his mother came from in the kitchen, followed by his oldest son running into the room.
"Daddy, Grandma said to tell you mummy's waters broken!" Scott panted.
Jeff pulled himself to his feet, keeping John firmly in one arm, and taking Scott's hand with the other. "Well, my Star Boy." Jeff said, looking at John with pride. "It looks like your mission was successful!"
"It was?" John asked with a puzzled expression.
Jeff beamed as he stood John next to Scott, who automatically took his little brother's hand in his. "Yes, you did!" He added, with a concerned look towards the kitchen as he heard his mother and Lucille call for him once more. "Looks like baby Virgil is on his way!"
Several hours later:
John grinned with joy, as with his mother's help, he held his new baby brother in his arms. "Hey, Virgie." He said softly. "I'm John, your big brother… And my secret is I'm also Star Boy." He whispered. "I helped find you today!" John looked at Virgil who gazed at him with his big eyes. "And my next mission is to be your big brother." He said with a contented sigh.
**
4 little brothers.
12 year old Scott Tracy stretched out in his bed, enjoying the warmth from is duvet on a cold winters night. Yes, this was his time. His time to relax after a full on day spent with 4 hyper younger brothers. His time to bask in the peace and quiet his room provided…
… THUNDERCLAP … the pouring rain began hammering at his window …
Scott sighed, threw back his blanket and began counting "5, 4, 3, 2, 1…"
… THUNDERCLAP … 4 scared little brothers rushed into his room …
"Come on then, jump in."
… THUNDERCLAP… 4 scared little brothers scurried noisily into the bed.
Pulling the blanket over them all Scott smiled when he felt each of them snuggle up to him. 'Forget the peace and quiet,' he thought to himself. He would prefer to have his 4 brothers any day!
**
First Day.
“Don’t want too…” Alan whined, clinging desperately onto his father’s trousers.
“But you have to,” Jeff returned, trying to loosen his son’s grip.
“Why?”
“Because…” Jeff paused, then exhaled, he had no answer for his baby. Honestly, he was out of his depth, normally this was Lucille’s job, but she wasn’t here like she had been for his other boys… He glanced at his four sons standing close by, none of them had wanted to miss this moment, none of them wanted Alan to feel like he was missing out on something, even though they knew that he was. After all, it shouldn’t be them doing this, it should be their mother. They’d all had her here for their first day, but Alan wouldn’t… And even though he hadn’t said anything they could see it in his eyes that he knew he was different from all of the other kids who were being dropped off by their moms.
“Because,” Scott said, stepping forwards, “you will get to make some cool new friends.”
“I will?”
“Yes,” John replied, “and you can play with some neat toys.”
“And when I was here,” Gordon added, “they had some awesome toy dolphins, and a submarine…”
Alan scrunched up his tiny nose.
Gordon grinned. “They also had some cars and toy rockets!”
“Wow!” Alan exclaimed.
“You can also draw and paint,” Virgil informed him.
“Without getting told off for using your paints?”
“As long as you share with your classmates,” Virgil said with a big smile, “then you can use whatever you want… And maybe you could bring me a picture back of your favourite toy?”
Alan nodded enthusiastically, then looked up to his dad. “I’m ready to go now daddy!”
Jeff knelt down so his eyes were level with Alan’s. “Have a brilliant day son.”
Alan beamed, loosened his grip, then immediately ran towards his teacher.
Standing, Jeff reached out and brought his four other boys into a warm hold. Knowing that whenever he was out of his depth then his amazing sons would always have his back.
The Beast
It was dark. Only a few rays of sunlight managing to penetrate the lair he had entered. He had been warned on numerous occasions about the beast that inhabited this area and was known to attack when woken, but he had not believed. Yes, he had seen it on many occasions, but all of those times it had been funny, friendly and caring. Surely, just because it was woken early it wouldn't attack. Especially since it was him.
He creeped closer. Currently it was lying on its stomach, eyes were tightly shut, and bizarre noises were emitting from it. Finally, reaching his destination he leant towards it, his hand reaching out, but then a sudden snort from the thing in front of him was released causing him to jump back. Maybe it wasn't best to disturb it? Maybe Gordon was right, and the beast did attack if provoked this early? Although his brother was known to make things up. This probably was just one of his jokes and the usual encounter would be received. He had to be brave and find out the truth. Straightening himself up, he stepped forwards, and placed his hand confidently on the shoulder in front of him…
"Virg…"
No movement, no signs of him waking, so he tried again…
"Virgie?"
This time a groan emitted from his brother, then once again he grew quiet…
"Virgie," he pushed harder on his shoulder, "please wake up."
A yawn, and a pair of bleary eyes opened, grumpy and nothing like the kind-hearted peaceful ones he was used to… He moved backwards… Maybe this was a mistake… But then there eyes met, and a soft gentle smile illuminated the features of his brother.
"Hey Alligator, what's up?"
"Nothing," Alan replied with a little snigger at the nickname.
Virgil regarded the three-year-old in front of him. "Nothing, really?"
"Well, Gordy said you were a beast in the morning, but I didn't believe him, so he said I should come and see for myself."
"Did he indeed?"
Alan nodded his head.
"Well, I'm not a beast."
"Knew it!" Alan cheered happily.
"But," Virgil looked at his clock, "when I am woken this early, I am known to turn into a bear."
Alan gasped in shock.
"And you know what bears do, right?"
Alan scrunched up his little nose and shuck his head…
"Well, they are known to attack."
"Really?"
"Yes, with…" Virgil paused for dramatic effect… "tickles!"
A fit of giggles erupted from Alan when Virgil pounced, flung him over his shoulder, then onto the bed where he began tickling him madly.
Baby Talk
"Hi, I'm Scott, I'm four years old, I love aeroplanes and jumping off the couch. Although mummy and daddy tell me off for that one. My best friend became a big brother to a little sister last year, he's really good at it, and I want to be the same. So, I will always cuddle you, care for you, and when you get bigger I will help you to learn all of the things I found hard. I promise that I will be the best big brother you could ask for…" He leaned in and kissed his mother's tummy, feeling a kick back in response… "Love you too!"
Phantom Children Ch. 6
Hi guys! I'm back <3 (also, I'm currently looking for alpha/beta readers for Phantom Children, so if you're interested, feel free to shoot me a message!)
In Which: Danny Attempts to get Answers, Bruce Learns, and Dick Finally Learns What's Inside the Door that Doesn't Exist
AO3 | Prologue | 5 | [ 6 ] | 7
DANNY IS KNOCKED DOWN three, four, eight times on the ice. Each time made his back ache, his bones bruised and tired, and his mind burning with embarrassment and a drive to lash out. But each time he gets back up. Each time he lasts a little bit longer against Talia.
The ice still shifts, cracks and rumbles with every wrong move. Danny learned to roll with it. Move on light feet but attack with a firm stance, gauge which parts of the ice are stable and which should be avoided. Multi-tasking has never been Danny’s strong suit, but he’s good at learning and learning quickly.
Talia corrected his form as much as she beat him down. Exploited every one of his openings until he learned to defend them and praised him whenever he managed to pull one over her. The League’s martial arts was the holy amalgamation between almost every single fighting style there is, mashed and refined to perfection to become almost unpredictable to the untrained. A vast improvement to Danny’s previous ‘fuck around and see what works’ brawling and had the added benefit of meshing together with his spontaneity.
“You are doing well, Daniel,” Talia said as she sheathed her sword, hand resting just above her hip. “You have improved greatly in such a short time, as I have expected.”
It takes every ounce of Danny’s superhuman energy to not collapse to his knees, his every breath a ragged shudder as he tries to get his breathing under control. “Still can’t beat you, though.”
“Very few can boast that feat.”
“I’m not exactly sure if that’s supposed to make me feel any better or not. Do I get my prize at least?”
Tahlia tossed her braid over one shoulder with a laugh. “Come, then, let us rest in the caves. The sun is to set soon and we must make camp before we freeze to death.”
“Hypothermia is so last season. I’m way too cool for that.”
He didn’t know whether to be disappointed that Tahlia didn’t react to his pun. It was pretty clever, in his opinion.
('Puns are the lowest form of comedy,' said mind-Jazz.
Says the one who named the Box Ghost the ‘Crate Creep.’
'That’s alliteration, not a pun.')
It was kind of pathetic that even his mind-version of Jazz was smarter than him.
“What would you like to know first?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Sarcasm dripped from Danny’s voice. He sheathed his sword and let it hang loose at his side. “Maybe how old this mysterious brother of mine is?” Ancients, his life was weird enough already, it wasn’t supposed to sound like the B-plot to a bad soap opera.
“Damian is younger than you by a little over four years. He will turn eleven this year.”
“Huh. Never been an older brother before.”
“Perhaps you might have been, if circumstances had been different.”
Cryptic. Great. Danny stepped over a particularly large crack in the ice and scampered over to solid ground. “You gotta give me more than that. What’s he like?”
“Prideful,” she said. “But skilled enough to warrant it. He was raised like a prince—as how you should have been.”
“And he lives with…our dad?”
“Yes. In America.” The cave was deep enough to shield them from the worst of the eventual mountain winds. Tahlia had already started building a campfire with equipment from her knapsack, embers eating away and growing into a steady flame. He sat down, legs crossed, beside the fire, hands tucked beneath his armpits.
He bit his lip, a question forming in his mind. “Do…do we have the same dad?”
Tahlia looked up at him. “Of course. Only your father has had the privilege of being called my beloved, and only he is worthy enough to have sired my children.”
Once night fell, it fell quickly. Blanketing as far as Danny could see from the mouth of the cave in a thick darkness. Snow fell from the skies in thick tufts and covered their footsteps.
“Does he—do they know about me?”
“No, they do not.”
“And you probably aren’t going to tell them anything about me, if you could help it.”
“That is very perceptive of you, habeebi.”
“You won’t tell me anything more about them, will you?”
“In due time, I will.”
Danny blew part of his fringe away from his face. Figures.
Despite the ever-present niggling at the back of his mind, Bruce had yet to see what was in the flash drive. The weeks since his strange meeting with Vlad Masters suddenly exploded with criminal activity with the recent breakout in Arkham and the brewings of another gang war in the shadows of Gotham’s paved streets. It was all hands-on deck. And Bruce, whether as Batman or Wayne, had always prioritized Gotham and its citizens over anything else.
The flash drive remained on his person despite the crisis, tucked away in one of the sturdier compartments of his utility belt to prevent the data inside from becoming damaged. Sometimes he found his hands gravitating towards it, fingers brushing against the button that would release the mystery from its confines before he realized what he was doing and steeled himself. Hands fisted to his side and attention forcibly directed elsewhere.
Eventually, the rogues were placed back into Arkham, and Gotham let out a shuddered breath of relief as it remained standing for another day.
Most of the family were out on a light patrol, cleaning up the remains of the breakout and helping where they can. Jason and Dick bickering over the comms whilst Barbara laughed in her clocktower.
(“It’s not that bad.”
"‘It’s not that bad’—shut the fuck up.” Jason spat. Bruce could hear him revving his bike. “You’re a fucking idiot, you know that? Certified Grade A idiot. B’s gonna kill you.”
He could hear Dick roll his eyes. “Sure, pile it all on, Jaybird. Blame the victim.”
"It was your fault.”
“It’s not my fault I didn’t see it there!”
"You tripped and got a concussion. From a stick. A. Stick.”
“Can we please just leave that out of the report?” Dick groaned. Barbara laughed. “Oh god.”
“Richard motherfucking John Grayson. I swear if you vomit on me then—”
“I’m not gonna vomit on you! You just turned the corner a little too fast. It’s nice to see you care though.”
"Fuck no, I just don’t wanna smell like regurgitated cereal.”)
Damian was benched from a patrol. Their last conflict with Poison Ivy ended with Damian sticking a bad landing and twisting his ankle. He dealt with it with as much grace as can be expected. Meaning that he spent the last few days sulking as he caught up on his missed schoolwork and shooting daggers at everyone else who came back from patrol.
Bruce flicked the flash drive open and plugged it into the computer. The flash drive contained only a single folder dated six months ago.
He clicked it, and a news headline popped up.
LOCAL TEEN DIES AFTER DRIVING OFF CLIFF
Beneath it, a picture. Blue eyes. Black hair. A familiar face.
Blood pounded in Bruce’s ears. He could hear nothing except a sharp gasp from Damian behind him.
When Dick and Jason arrived at the batcave, it was to an eerie silence. Not that it was usually loud, only that Bruce spent most of his free time down in the cave and Dick had come to expect hearing some signs of him around. Typing on keys, the clicking of a mouse, the heavy thuds of a fist meeting a punching bag or a training dummy, etcetera, etcetera. Or maybe even Alfred cleaning up around the cave, feeding the bats, or restocking their med bay.
(Dick, it turned out, didn’t have a concussion. Probably. Not a severe one anyway. What mattered most was that he managed to convince Jason to have dinner at the Manor. Alfred was making a tarte tatin for dessert tonight and those were absolutely to die for. )
One of Tim’s cases took him to the other side of Gotham. The only person in the cave was Damian, who was staring agape at the batcomputer.
“Why the hell is the demon spawn looking at old pictures of Bruce? We get it. They look alike.
“Uh, Dami? What’s up?”
Damian snapped his mouth shut. “I believe it might be best if you asked father that, Grayson.” Despite his clipped tone, there seemed to be little anger in his voice. His proud shoulders were hunched over on the chair, eyes trained on his lap.
He looked so small.
Damian clucked his tongue. “He’s upstairs, if you need him. So is Pennyworth.”
Dick shot a glance at Jason who raised his hands in mock surrender. “You’re up golden boy. Whatever the fuck the old man’s problem is this time, I’m not dealing with it.”
Dick sighed. “Fine.”
There was a door in Wayne Manor that didn’t exist.
When Dick was a child and recently adopted by Bruce Wayne, one of the first things he did was explore the manor. It’s the prerogative of every child that somehow found themselves in a large mansion—even more so given the castle-like exteriors of Wayne Manor. All castles have secret passages, and if the Batcave lay in the subterranean depths below, then surely the manor proper must have its own secrets.
Dick would tumble and cartwheel along the hallways, opening any and every single door he came across. A lot of them were just empty bedrooms or unused parlors and sitting rooms; the furniture covered by white sheets to keep the dust away. Alfred was probably magic, but even he can’t keep the entirety of the manor dust free.
The majority of the unused rooms were unlocked.
Except for one.
It was a room in the west wing, on the second floor. A couple doors down from where Bruce’s and Dick’s were. Why it was locked, Dick never found out. But he was curious since it was the only room on that floor that remained shut.
When he asked Alfred about it, the old butler only said that it was an unused storage room they preferred to keep locked just in case. When he asked Bruce about it, he’d be quick to change the subject. Usually something Batman related. Which, well, always worked, because it was Batman related. And Dick, young and spry and itching to fly under Batman’s wings, would quickly forget about that curious little mystery in favor of punching bad guys in the face and flipping over rooftops.
At some point that locked door quietly disappeared, leaving a blank expanse of wallpaper and a decorative vase where it once stood. It was never brought up again. And Dick slowly forgot that it was ever there in the first place.
Until now.
The wooden table and vase were shoved off to the side. Wallpaper sliced away to reveal the lines of a doorway. The door, covered in its faint damask wallpaper, was kicked open, the wood around the bolt splintered and cracked. He could hear voices—Alfred’s and Bruce’s—speaking softly on the other side.
He pressed his back against the wall and kept his breathing quiet.
“Three times, Alfred.” Bruce’s voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper. “Three times she’s done this to me.”
“Master Bruce…”
“I don’t—I don’t understand why—” Bruce choked, swallowing a shuddered breath. “Damian, I can understand. Jason, I can too. But…This? I—” Bruce suddenly quieted. Dick knew the jig was up.
He unlatched himself from the wall and slowly slid through the once-hidden-door, a hand kept on the frame. “Um. Hi, Bruce? Alfred?” The words fell flat, stilted. Dick winced as he said them. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop but, uh…” He trailed off the second he registered what was in the room.
It was large, as so many rooms in the manor were. The room was covered in peeling green wallpaper with faded pictures of baby deer and owls and other woodland creatures prancing about. There was a dresser on one wall. A shelf filled with little picture books and stuffed animals on the other. A brown teddy bear had fallen on its face on one of the shelves.
In the middle—where Bruce was hunched over—was a crib. The wood streaked and aged with time, the beddings within pristine and untouched, if not dusty. Hanging overhead was a mobile with little animals dangling on a string.
“Worry not Master Dick. It is good that you are here since it will inevitably involve the rest of the family at some point.”
Dick nodded absentmindedly, trying to lock eyes with his guardian. “B? What’s—what’s going on?” Dick took one step deeper into the room. “The pictures in the cave. I thought they were you since they were too old to be Damian—” Bruce’s hands on the crib’s railing flinched.
Dick’s breath hitched.
“They’re…not your photos, are they.”
Bruce took a deep breath in, the lines of his shoulders tense. “No. They’re not.”
In their line of work, the answer could have been anything. Clones, magical doppelgangers, alternate universe counterparts, hell, even just someone’s genetic code being coincidentally similar to another person. But…this room, this nursery, pointed towards only one conclusion.
“Who is he, Bruce?”
Bruce angled his head towards Dick, unshed tears glimmering in his eyes. “He’s my son, Dick.
“He’s my son.”
SNL
OFC Aria Samsen is a writer for Saturday Night Live in New York City. She works with all the hosts on their sketches, including this weeks guest, Timothée Chalamet. What will happen when she accidentally mixes business with pleasure?
Tumblr media
Shit! I’m gonna be late if I stop for coffee, but, if I don’t stop for coffee I won’t be productive. Talk about a slippery slope. I quickly duck into the coffee shop by the subway station I need to take to get to work and order a large iced coffee, Monday’s are usually rough. I thank the barista and rush to catch the A train to work.
Speaking of work, my job is definitely an interesting one. I am a writer for SNL and it’s been such a dream these past couple of years. I’m 25 and starting to really take off in terms of my writing, I’ve been offered the position to become a part-time cast member multiple times on the show but I don’t think my anxiety would agree with that. I arrive to work a little late with my iced coffee (even though it’s the middle of December) and I make a beeline for my office, which I share with Pete Davidson, who happens to be one of my closest friends. Pete and I are complete opposites if that gives you any context on me.
 “You’re late” Pete laughed as I walked in.
“Yeah yeah I’m aware, what are you working on?”
 “I’ve had this jets fan club idea for a while and I’ve been waiting for the right host”
 “I didn’t get a chance to check the schedule before leaving Saturday night, who’s the host this week?”
“Seriously Aria? It’s Timothée Chalamet, he’s actually a friend of mine”
“Oh sweet, I like his movies”
 “Thank you!” I heard an unfamiliar voice from behind me coming from the doorway. I glare at Pete who’s trying not to laugh, and turn around to face the owner of this voice. Timothée stands there with a smile on his face and reaches his hand out to me, “Timothée, nice to meet you-?”
“Aria” I fumble around placing my coffee, phone and keys down and shake his hand.“Nice to meet you too” Timothée let’s go of my hand and I feel Pete slip past me to dab up (or whatever guys do idfk) Tim.
“It’s been a minute man how are you?” Pete asked him. “I’ve been great dude, I’m excited to host although I am pretty nervous” “Don’t be, you’ll do great” I smiled at him. Why did I say that, he clearly isn’t having a conversation with me. Great he’s going to think I’m weird now and not want to talk to me or work with me and this whole week is going to be horri-“Thank you Aria” he smiled and locked eyes with me, I felt my cheeks getting hot and averted my gaze to my stuff on Pete’s desk, picking up my drink before taking a sip, stepping back towards my desk.
“I gotta go talk to Colin Jost and Michael Che..can you guys point me in the right direction?” Tim asked. Pete looked at me and smirked saying “Yeah Aria can show you I’m in the middle of a pitch” Tim looked at me and said “Sounds great, lead the way”. I put all my stuff down before sneaking a glare Pete’s way, he knew how nervous I got around guys I didn’t know and he was using me as a pawn in his own enjoyment game. I’m gonna kill him for this.
“Follow me” I said, Timothée started walking next to me. “So, you’re a writer a presume?” I laughed a little bit. “Yeah I write some of the stuff for weekend update and some other sketches as well” “That’s so cool, I’ve been watching the show since I can remember, you should be really proud” “I am, thank you, that’s sweet” he nodded and shoved his hands in his pockets.
“So you and Pete? Are you guys close friends or dating or-?” If I was drinking something at the moment, I’m positive I would’ve choked on it. Did he just ask if I’m dating Pete? Why would he want to know that?
“No, no! Just close friends is all, Pete’s like an older brother to me” Tim smiled at this and let out a laugh. “That’s nice, Pete’s a great guy” I stopped in front of Colin and Michael’s office and turned to him. “Yeah he’s alright I guess, anyway here’s there office, I’m sure you’re gonna be busy all day but you’re probably slotted to sit with Pete and I at some point during the week so I’ll see you around”. How I managed to get all of that out without stuttering terribly over my words is well beyond me.
I went to walk away when I felt Timothée grab my upper left arm, I turned towards him with what I presume looked like a look of confusion on my face, “Thank you for walking me, I hope I see you around sooner rather than later” he smiled and walked into the office, leaving me to contemplate what he just said.
As I walked back to my office, I couldn’t help but think about him. Sure, I’ve met celebrities but there was something completely disarming about his charisma. He was down to earth, I could just tell. I opened the door to find Pete sitting at his desk, smiling bright at me when he saw I walked in.
“You spent 5 minutes with Timmy and you already have a crush on him”
I rolled my eyes “I do not have a crush on him, shut up Pete”
“If you don’t yet, I bet you will by the end of the week” What the hell does that mean? I’ll have a crush on him by the end of the week? Well it looks like that trains boarding as we speak, not long till it leaves the station. I couldn’t help myself but go sit at my desk and Google him.
Timothée Chalamet
“I dO nOt HaVe A cRuSh On HiM” Pete imitated me (horrible imitation, by the way). I jumped out my seat, not even noticing he was behind me, looking over my shoulder at my computer. My head fell into my hands as I let out a loud groan of frustration as Pete made his way back to his desk laughing.
“You’ll thank me when I make this happen.”
“Shut up Pete.”
A/N: I decided to go ahead with this multi-part series, not sure how many parts I'm gonna make it but I definitely want to try for 3 or 4, maybe 5, depending on how many ideas I can come up with. Sorry this was a little short but I’m happy to be back to writing, I took a break for a while and It feels great to be back! Ill be adding a Timmy section to my taglist on the google docs at the top of my master list if anyones interested. Im gonna stop rambling, I appreciate feedback or ideas for the rest of the series :)
Tagging these who responded to my original post about doing this series but I won’t tag you next time if you don’t want me to! @elarasstardust
So this is going to be my attempt to summarize the newest episodes of the ghost marriage event (episode 1 to 13) of twisted wonderland. Part 2
Again, spoiler alert since I’m about to write out everything that happened, and I apologize for my grammar in advance.
The event started with Epel, Ace, Riddle, and Rook’s marriage proposal
In your dorm -> suddenly a lot of ghosts showed up and said this would be the guest room for the princess -> you got kicked out by them -> you went and ask Crowley what is going on -> Crowley explained -> that was the ghost bride, her dream was to find a wonderful prince to marry, but she died before able to fulfill the dream, so now she wonders around twisted wonderland to find her groom, but that would be impossible -> Crowley “since her perfect prince needs to be over 180cm (5ft9) tall, a slim body without any unnecessary fat, clean and beautiful skin, charming smile, shinnying hair, and lips that make you want to kiss them.” -> Crowley “so there’s no way that anyone could fit that description, they just stay in ramshackle for a few days then leave.” -> suddenly Ortho showed up and said his brother is taken away by the ghosts -> Ortho showed you a footage from the security camera
Idia was on his way to buy manga -> the ghost princess showed up and said “I’ve finally found him… my prince!!!” -> the video cuts out -> Grim was surprised since Idia doesn’t feel like a prince at all -> Crowley “tall, slim, pale skin, and a smile… that can’t really be called charming, shinning… more like burning hairs, and his colored lips. If you think of it, he does fit the ghost’s type.” -> there was suddenly a lot of noises outside -> Ace and Deuce was there -> a bunch of ghosts showed up in cafeteria -> you all retreated to the sports field -> Riddle, Azul, and Kalim were also there -> they were studying but the ghost suddenly showed up -> Azul “Kalim, the correct term would be we were ‘teaching’ you right?” -> Riddle “just a little more and Kalim could finally understand the question…!” -> Vil, Rook, and Epel were in the classroom and the ghosts showed up and kicked them out -> Cater was also kicked out of lab room -> Leona was kicked out from hallway -> Ortho explained what happened to all of them -> everyone laughed -> Crowley “It’s no time to laugh! Do you know what it means to be married to a ghost? It means to be together forever with the dead. You will have your soul pulled out and goes to the other world!” -> Ortho “my… my big brother is going to be a ghost? I don’t want that to happen! Please, help my brother!” -> Crowley “of course, I’m sure when their friend is in trouble, all the gentle students here will help Shroud…”
Tumblr media
 -> everyone “nope/don’t wanna.” -> (player choice: “what a wonderful harmony” / “you guys only get along with each other in a time like this.”) -> Ortho “why? Everyone lends me your strength!” -> Vil “He normally avoids us as much as possible, and only bother us in a time like this. It’s a little too much.” -> Leona “it’s your own ‘brother’ problem right, just do something yourself.” -> Ortho decided to just do it himself -> he started computer simulation and decided to just use a magic beam to destroy the whole school -> Crowley stopped Ortho and explained to everyone that mass media will soon be on their ass if Shroud disappeared -> Ortho also threatened that if nobody helped, he is going to hack the TV station to remove the mosaic on news and put on “the student that abandoned their friend” instead -> finally everyone agreed to help -> Lilia suggest to ask Sam boy since he knows a lot about the ghost -> Sam said he heard about this from his friends on the other side -> Ortho “is there any item that we can use to solve this…” -> “IN STOCK NOW” -> the ring of extinction -> it can force the ghost to the other world if you put it on her left ring finger while saying “I swear to love you for as long as you are alive.” -> Lilia “so basically, I don’t care if you are dead.” -> but how can we put it on her? -> the only way to do it is to propose her -> Crowley told you to gather all the students he called -> it was Trey, Jack, Jade, Floyd, Leona, Vil, and Sebek -> the plan is to make them propose to the ghost princess -> Riddle “wait a second, I can’t just watch my vice dorm leader do this, I will go too.” -> Crowley “you can’t.” -> Riddle “eh?” ->Crowley “there’s a common trait between all 7 of them, which is... over 180cm in height!!!!!!” -> Riddle “are you saying… that I’m short….!?” ->  Floyd “it’s fine, goldfish is fine as you are now… wait? Where’s little goldfish? Is he gone?” -> Riddle “ha? What do you mean, floy…” -> Floyd “…ah, there you are, you are so tiny that I couldn’t see you down there.”
Tumblr media
Vil “why isn’t Malleus here? Isn’t he pretty tall?” -> Lilia “Malleus is a real prince, if he proposes there is a high chance to success, but even if it’s fake, there’s no way a future king of thorn valley will propose to a ghost, just the fact that he proposed would cause a national problem, so just let it slide and let Sebek do it instead.” -> Leona “hum, saying something so grand, we still don’t know if Malleus would be picked or not.” -> Sebek “Malleus sama is a very handsome man, of course, he will be chosen as the groom! You guys won’t even stand a chance!!!!!!!”  -> Vil and Leona are pretty mad after hearing that and are now determined to do this.
In cafeteria -> Idia is trying his best to scream for help and refuse to marry the princess -> but she won’t listen -> a ghost said 7 people are here to propose to her -> but she said she will refuse them all so Idia can just rest assure here -> Vil started to use his actor skill to act like a prince (change his pronoun from atashi to boku and his way of talking) -> Jack “Vil senpai… can you just lie to someone like that? I think love is supposed to be… more serious. I just, don’t like this con man act…!” -> Vil “too naïve, Jack kun.” -> Jack “Jack ‘kun’!?” -> Vil “this is a competition, to see who can charm the princess first.” -> Leona “disgusting, this is even worse than your normal self.” -> Vil “Leona kun… are you scared that you’ll lose to me?” -> Leona “… hey ghost! Bring the princess out!”
Everyone was brought to the princess -> princess complimented Idia and said how he is her perfect prince ->
Tumblr media
Leona and Vil “I’m definitely better!” -> Jade “those two, completely forgot their goals.” -> princess decided to try and see if they will be her perfect prince -> princess “let’s start with you, the one with a wild style but a cute ear.” -> Leona “Me?” -> she suddenly started singing -> Leona got really confused
Tumblr media
-> she slapped Leona -> princess “I can’t believe it…… To not sing a duet along with the princess!!!! You are not a prince at all!” -> Jack “Leona senpai… he was the only real prince among us though…” -> next is Vil, he passed the singing part perfectly, but then princess asked what is the name of his pet dog -> he doesn’t have one -> Vil got slapped too
Tumblr media
next one up is Jack -> she asked if he knows sword art and how big of a monster have he slain -> Jack “sword? I don’t need something like that, I will use my fist…” -> SLAP
Tumblr media
-> Sebek is next -> she asked if he knows how to play instruments -> Sebek started talking about Malleus nonstop -> SLAP
Tumblr media
-> Trey is next -> She suddenly said “we can’t meet ever again, farewell!” and runs away -> Trey is confused but decided to chase after her -> She “ah, even though I told you we can’t ever meet again! Please, do not confuse me even more” -> Trey “ok it seems like the right choice to chase after her, but what should I do next…” -> Jade “Trey san, you should sing here!” -> Trey “sing!? Now!?” -> Jade “Yes, to create a romantic mood, you have to sing a wonderful song to make her heart melt.” -> Trey “I’m not really good at singing though…! umm…” -> Trey singing “emm, you… your… your veil…. Looks just like a bleached towel… eyes, also, looks like grapes… so juicy~~” -> her “…” -> Trey “…” -> SLAP
Tumblr media
-> Jade “your comparison are a little too peasant, at least say something like your eyes are just like gem stones.” -> Trey “I’m just a high school student? I can’t come up anything like that in this situation!” -> Floyd next -> Floyd “this person just so annoying~~ can I squeeze her?” -> SLAP
Tumblr media
-> Jade’s turn -> He offered her flowers -> Jade “I picked out those flowers myself, I thought you would look great with them.” -> Floyd pointed out those are flowers with strong poison -> Jade “yes, if you just touch them with your barehand, your hand would broke, but it seems like it don’t work with ghosts. I’ve learned.” -> SLAP ->
Tumblr media
Trey “…hey, I just noticed something, to suddenly make someone lived in an all boy boarding school to propose to a princess… isn’t the difficulty a little too high?”
Everyone outside was laughing hard -> Azul, Cater, Deuce, and Lilia decided to help next -> SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP -> Azul talked too much which makes him unbelievable -> Cater treated everything too lightly -> Deuce got too nervous that he couldn’t talk -> Lilia -> Lilia was too cute that she doesn’t want him -> she complained that why is there no good man left in this world and brought Idia out -> Idia “none of you even had any use at all… everyone was slapped and rolling around like an insect… aren’t you supposed to be popular! You always hype around like an idiot, aren’t you embarrassed by this!?” -> everyone is pretty mad after hearing Idia say that -> but the princess was pretty happy so she decided to make the wedding tonight, midnight. -> Idia screamed for help -> Vil “Isn’t this great, someone picked introverted you as their partner.” -> Leona “yeah, now that I think of it you two are really fitting as a couple.” -> Idia “why--!?” -> Jack “of course, we will get mad after hearing what you said.” -> Idia “Azul!! We are friends of the board game club right?” -> Azul “to think that the hikikomori Idia would get married… I’m so touched I think I’m about to cry… congratulation. I will send you some wedding gift.”
Outside -> Ace was still laughing at what happened -> Crowley “it seems like the only thing we can do now is to find back up grooms!”
That was all for now, man this event is hilarious, especially the part where everyone got slapped, so sad that I couldn’t fit in everyone’s slapped face in here
The Quarantine Chronicles
Turtles x Reader
Author: Admin Mo
Prompt: There were a few of you that asked for being quarantined with the turtles, so here you go <3
Note: There’s one part for each turtle <3 Thanks so much for 3.5k!! I love you guys!!!
Warnings: Mentions of quarantine/the virus, but other than that, none??
Word Count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
Intro
“Well, it’s confirmed.” Donnie pulled his goggles up onto the top of his head, his brothers looking at him, anticipation in their eyes. “We can’t contract or carry the virus.”
“We’re immune?” Leo checked.
Donnie nodded, typing rapidly into his computer. “Not only that, but we don’t have the ability to infect anybody either. Which means…”
“Yep, I’ll call her.” Raph dialed your number to deliver the good news.
“Hell yeah!!!” Mikey cheered skipping out of the lair.
***
It took about an hour for you to gather all of the things you’d need during quarantine and head down to the lair. The boys were waiting anxiously for your arrival, all of them sad about the circumstances but glad that it meant you got to spend some quality time with them. If there was anything they knew how to do, it was pass the time. After all, they’d basically been quarantined for the better part of fifteen years before they were finally allowed on the surface.
The boys set up a nice little bed for you. It was an air mattress, but Raph had knitted you a big red blanket during some of his time in the hashi, and it was warm and cozy, and Donnie had gathered a bunch of pillows, so pushed up against the wall, it was a perfect little cozy corner for you.
Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but you knew that in the lair, you’d be safe.
Leo x Reader ~ Stress Baking
“Ooh, that smells good. What are you making?” Leo had followed his nose to the kitchen, only to find you sitting on the counter wearing an apron.
“Oreo cheesecake cupcakes.” You replied, looking up at him and smiling, your legs kicking from your spot on the counter. “One of my favorite recipes.”
“You’ve been doing a lot of baking since you got down here. Are you…alright?”
“Oh, I’m fine.” You replied, nodding. “I call this: controlling what you can when things feel out of control.”
“Ah.” He nodded. “Stress baking.”
“Yes. Stress baking. Instead of writing my essay for Human Origins.” You shrugged. “I’ll do it when these are done.”
“I keep forgetting you’re still doing school stuff with all this going on.” Leo walked into the kitchen and leaned against the counter opposite you, crossing his arms. “That’s rough.”
“It really is. I’m making it work, though. I’m fine. I’m…I’m making it work.”
The oven dinged, so you hopped down from the counter and slipped on your oven mitts, pulling the tray of cupcakes out of the oven. They looked perfect. Now, they just needed to chill in the fridge for a few hours.
“Hang in there, okay?” Leo tilted his head, a concerned look in his blue eyes. “You’ve got us if you need any help with anything. I’m no expert on evolution or anything, but I’m sure Donnie is.”
“I’ll make sure to let you know if I need any help.” You nodded. After you turned the oven off, you turned to Leo and gave him a hug, which he gladly reciprocated, holding you tight in his arms. “Thank you.”
Leo rested his head against yours, pressing a soft kiss to your hairline. “Any time.”
Raph x Reader ~ New Hobbies
“Okay, so stick the needle in. Yep just like that. And then loop the yarn around. Yep, good job. And then…uh…here, let me see what you did…” Raph held up your knitting project, spinning it around to look at it. “I don’t know why it looks like that…”
You’d never seen him so patient before, but when you’d asked him to teach you how to knit, he’d been more than willing. Excited, even.
“Sorry I’m so bad at this…”
“No, yer not bad, believe me, it took me a long time to learn. It just takes practice is all.” Raph reassured you. “Why don’t…Hmm…”
“What?” You chuckled at the focused look on his face as he fixed the mistake you’d made.
Raph handed you the knitting needles and then sat crisscrossed on the floor. He patted his legs, motioning you over. “Come here, shorty, I think I know how to teach you.”
You crawled into his lap and he picked you up and repositioned you so that your back was against his plastron. He positioned your hands correctly, taking your little human hands in his giant green three-fingered ones. He walked you through the motions slowly, sticking the needle into the loop, wrapping the yarn around the needle, making the new loop, and then dropping the old one.
“Ohhhhhhhh that makes sense.” You nodded, everything finally clicking into place. “Could you do that one more time for me?”
“Yep. Like this. In, around, through, and off. In, around, through, off.” He did it a few more times so you could get used to the motion. “Alright, now you try.” He took his hands away, leaving you to do it on your own.
“In…around? Through…” you moved the needles, manipulating the yarn carefully. “Off. Like that?”
“You did it! Good job!”
“Thank you for teaching me!”
Raph hugged you, his arms wrapping around your waist. He leaned forward and kissed your cheek. “Anything for my favorite student.”
Donnie x Reader ~ Bleach and Dye
“Okay, so the box says you shouldn’t leave it on for any longer.” Donnie read the label on the box of bleach for the thirteenth time. “Ready?”
“Yep.” You leaned back in the chair you had pushed against the sink, and Donnie helped rinse the bleach out. Next, he helped you blow-dry it. You looked at your reflection, tilting your head. “I think it’s cute.”
“It’s a good look for you.” Donnie agreed, still uncertain how you’d roped him into this crazy scheme of yours. “Are you sure you want to go further?”
“Yep. I want to be purple.” You slid the little container of dye to him and his eyes widened.
“Well, alright…” Donnie exhaled, shaking his head. He read the instructions on the dye container and then started brushing it onto your hair from the tips to the roots. “Have you ever done this before?”
“Nope. But everyone on TikTok is doing it, so it was about time.” You shrugged, grinning as Donnie very carefully brushed the dye onto your bleached hair.
“I mean, if it makes you feel better with all this going on, then I guess it’s worth a try.”
“That’s my logic exactly.” You grinned and took a sip of your chai latte. You held it up to him so he could take a sip, and he did.
At first, Donnie had been a little squeamish of sharing straws, but since you had been around so much offering him sips of every frozen coffee or iced tea recipe you came up with, it didn’t bother him anymore.
“That’s good. Soymilk?”
“Vanilla soymilk.”
“Mmm, interesting.” He grinned.
The two of you sat around talking for a while before his timer went off and it was time to wash the dye out. He helped you rinse it out once again, drying it off with a blow dryer until finally, you straightened up to look at in the mirror. You squealed, beaming.
“It looks so good!!! Thank you Donnie!!!” You jumped up and latched onto him, your legs wrapped around his hips.
He grinned and grabbed onto your thighs, securing you in place better. “Of course, princess. Glad I could help.”
Mikey x Reader ~ When All Else Fails…Art
“So you take the Ziploc bag and you color on it with the markers you want like this.” You showed him, scribbling a random shape onto the clear plastic with an orange marker. “And then you pick another color, so pink.” You colored some more surrounding the orange blob, but not touching it. “And then I’m adding some yellow.”
“Okay…” Mikey watched intensely, very interested in the art technique you’d found on the internet. He was using some blue and green on his bag, and once you were done with the yellow, he used some of that too. “Now what?”
“And then you dip your fingers into the water and flick it where the marker is.”
“Alright.” Mikey nodded, dipping one giant finger into the water and copying you, flicking water onto the places where the color was.
“And then you mix it around like this.” You smudged the color with your fingertip, smearing it and blending the spots between different colors.
“Okay…” Mikey still wasn’t sure what this was supposed to accomplish, but he did it anyway.
“And then…and this is the cool part. You flip it onto the paper and press down.”
“WOAHHHHHH THAT’S SO COOL!” He exclaimed, spreading the color out on his paper. “Where did you learn how to do this, dudette?”
“On the internet.” You smiled, peeling the bag off of your paper and admiring your pseudo-water color masterpiece. It looked like a sunset. You handed it to Mikey. “For you, sir.”
He held a hand over his heart, gasping. “For ME?”
“Mmhmm.”
“I’m gonna frame this and put it on my bunk.” Mikey tackled you in a bear hug, pressing a dozen kisses to your cheek. “Thank you, angelcakes. I love it.”
