His mother disapproved of video games, they took away from study time. So when Cater took his phone and downloaded the game for him, he didn't open it for months.

It's the only game on his phone, and it's in a hidden folder so that when his mother searches his phone, she can't find it.

He only plays once a month, usually after Cater tells him an event is going on.  He'll heave a heavy sigh, open it for an hour or so, and not play again.

He was drawn to you. He doesn't know what it is. Maybe he's touch starved, maybe he knows his mother wouldn't approve of you if you were real, or maybe there's something about you that, deep down, makes him feel safe.

He doesn't actually have any of your cards. His only cards he has are from his initial ten pull that the game gave him. But he read through the story, and that's all he needs for now.

Cater also kidnapped his phone to download the game.  He only plays while he's waiting for things in the oven to finish up. So he actually plays a lot, but in short intervals.

He thinks you'd help him with his jobs. Or maybe you wouldn't, and you'd cause more trouble. He understands it would depend on your mood. But he's along for the ride.

He drew your basic SSR in his first ten pull, and he's satisfied with that. He never plays events, because he just doesn't have time or energy for it. He can just see pictures and the stories that come with online, without having to invest the effort.

For the last unbirthday party, he made a cake loosely I spired by you and your color scheme. The only person who noticed was Cater, who smirked at him the entire time. Trey was definitely not blushing when Cater confronted him about it.

The second the game was starting to look like it'd go viral, it was on Carter's phone, and his magicam. He did a thorough review, and gave it  five stars! The game devs were thrilled and reached out to him for a sponsorship. He's been regularly sponsored ever since. 

He has modeled several looks based on your colors. He's doing the twisted wonderland version of Disney bounding for you. The first time he did, your voice actor reached out to him. His most viral magicam post is him and your va modeling "Disney bound" looks of a particularly popular event outfit you had.

"Looks like I can't afford to keep sleeping, huh?" Many readers may have been surprised when they first heard that line. Jeramie Brasieri is a storyteller who has been watching over the Five Kingdoms and Bugnarak for more than 2,000 years. Born from a human and a Bugnarak, he yearns for world peace with a nihilistic smile on his face. How was such a unique character created? We asked Masashi Ikeda, who plays the role of Jeramie and the voice of the narrator since the first episode, about his role and thoughts on the work…or so it'll go.

"Ikeda-san, do you have any memories of any tokusatsu works?"

Ikeda: I loved Kamen Rider 555! I had all the transformation belts. I loved it so much that I begged my parents to get me the Psyga and Orga belts that appeared in the movie because I really wanted them (laughs). I also collected the figures and played with them by making them fight.

"Since then, you said you longed to become a hero."

Ikeda: I admired it, but I didn't think it was something I would become. I was born and raised in Tokushima Prefecture, and I thought that the entertainment industry was so far away.

"You didn't think you would become an actor?"

Ikeda: I moved to Tokyo to enter university, where I became enamored by the city. When I was struggling with various issues, I was approached by my current agency. When I was ready to take the first step toward becoming an actor, I was given the chance to audition for a show, which can be a gateway towards success for young talents. I auditioned for "King-Ohger" thinking that I was going to finally fulfill my childhood dream.

"Did you audition for the role of Jeramie from the beginning?"

Ikeda: At first I auditioned for the role of Gira and Yanma, but those fell through. Soon after, I was asked to participate in an audition for the role of the additional warrior. During the interview, they asked me about things other than acting, such as "what's your favorite food?" I was so nervous because I thought they were also looking into my personality.

"How were you informed that you got the role?"

Ikeda: When I heard that another audition for the role was to be filmed, I went to the office, but was told "seems like it's been decided." I didn't really understand, so I was left in daze for about an hour. It was only once I got home that I finally realized what happened and was overcome with excitement. I think maybe my manager wanted to surprise me (laughs). However, I couldn't react to anything after hearing that, so I ended up leaving flustered, I'm so sorry (laughs).

"What were your first impressions of the character Jeramie?"

Ikeda: I remember being excited about this role, thinking it would be interesting. Just hearing that he's half human, half Bugnarak, and that he's a 2,000-year-old pacifist. I just knew that he would be a sensitive character on the inside. I was curious about what happened to him in his 2,000 years of life, and about his appearance as the additional warrior.

"How did you prepare for the role of Jeramie?"

Ikeda: At the time of the audition, the description said "hard-boiled and pretentious," so I created the character in a slightly different way than it is now. I focused on how to make him look cool from his body language to his hand gestures.

"By "slightly different from what it is now," do you mean that after you passed the audition, you changed up your performance based on the director or producer's opinion?"

Ikeda: Actually, the script for the episode in which Jeramie appears (episode 11) arrived quite a while after the audition, but during the meetings at the time, the setting of Jeramie changed. For the time being, I abandoned the role I had played during the audition, and started to think about playing a different character again. The key word "sensitive" remained the same, but I have the impression that Jeramie is relaxed enough to enjoy having conversations with others. That's why I'm very conscious of making sure that he enjoys talking with other people. Also, there are scenes in which he speaks with his true feelings, which are different from how he appears to be on the surface. I try to keep that in mind while act accordingly.

"I heard that you used the previous work "Avataro Sentai Donbrothers" as a reference to help develop your role."

Ikeda: After I was cast as Jeramie, I watched all episodes of Donbrothers and went to the G Rosso theater performances. Donbrothers is mainly comedic rather than kingly, isn't it? I thought that the fun of the stage play was similar to that of King-Ohger, so I used it as a reference.

"Before Jeramie made his appearance, Ikeda-san had been providing the role of narrator. At that point, you still had not yet decided what Jeramie's character was going to be like."

Ikeda: The character had not yet been finished at that point. However, Director (Kazuya) Kamihoriuchi-san told me that he "wanted me to put emotion into the narration." During the first postrecording, I was at a total loss as to how to put emotion into the narration, and it took me a long time of trying. At that time, Director Kamihoriuchi said to me, "why don't you try adding in "…or so it goes" (…tosa)." I feel like Jeramie's character had been decided by that one saying.

"So the memorable phrase originated from the director! Until his appearance, Ikeda-san's name was not credited in the opening. While watching, some viewers may have been wondering whose voice actor was doing it."

Ikeda: For me, I don't like my own voice. That's why when King-Ohger started airing, I couldn't get used to hearing my own voice on air. It was the same when Jeramie made his appearance, I still have strange feelings about it.

"The line "Looks like I can't afford to keep sleeping, huh?" in episode 10 made the viewers realize for the first time that the narration was by a character in the show. From there, there was an immediate response to Jeramie. How did that make you feel?"

Ikeda: When it was realized that the narrator was Jeramie, and then when Jeramie appeared in the show, I was very excited to see everyone's reactions. On Twitter, I was so happy to see tweets with the subject of "the person who narrates is appearing! I had to practice many times how to say "Looks like I can't afford to keep sleeping" because it was the first line that showed Jeramie's emotion as a character, and not as the narrator.

"Did you ever meet the other five members when you were participating only as the narrator?"

Ikeda: I would try to observe them when they were providing the dub for the post recording. I met the five of them there, so when it came time for me to join the show as Jeramie, we were able to get along well.

"What was the first scene filmed as Jeramie?"

Ikeda: It was the beginning of episode 11. I was still wearing the hood and Spider Mask, so I could hardly see anything in front of me. It's not often that you get to perform in such a state, so it was a fun and new experience. When I finally took off my mask, I felt a sense of relief that I was finally able to present Jeramie. There was also a feeling of comradery, as I was finally able to perform with the other five.

"Please tell us about some of the most impressionable episodes you filmed."

Ikeda: In the scene where he meets Rita for the first time, they slap Jeramie hard across the face. Before shooting the scene, I told (Yuzuki) Hirakawa-san, who plays Rita, "Do it seriously," but when filming started, she hit me harder than I expected and I ended up making a face. I replied after that it would be nice if this turns out to be an interesting scene. From there, Hirakawa-san and I became good friends.

"Having played Jeramie so far, Ikeda-san, what do you find most appealing about him?"

Ikeda: Aside from the fact that he was born half human and Bugnarak, and despite having lived as an entity erased from history, I think it's the fact that he loves humans more than anything. He may come off as a pretentious person, but he's actually more pure and innocent, and wishes to bring peace to the the world more than anyone else. I think the gap between innocent and cute is also appealing.

"What were your impressions of the costumes and makeup?"

Ikeda: Normally, I wouldn't wear such pure white and pretty clothing, or put patterns on my face. Even so, when I look like that, the switch to Jeramie is flipped on. I saw it for the first time at the costume fitting, and since both Gira and Kaguragi wear eye makeup, I knew that Jeramie would have some as well, and I think he looks cool having makeup that reflects his sensitive personality.

"What are your thoughts on the post transformation design of Spider Kumonos?"

Ikeda: I honestly thought, "Is it really alright to be this cool!?" This design feels different from the Super Sentai series I watched as a child, so it's really cool. When the figures were released, I decorated them in my house where I admire them everyday (laughs).

"How did you create the transformation scene for Spider Kumonos?"

Ikeda: I worked together with action director (Watanabe) Jun-san to create the scene. When I looked at the finished video, I really felt as though I transformed. It was in that moment where I realized my childhood dream of being a hero came true, and I was overcome with emotion. Words can't express how happy I was, as I watched the transformation scene over and over again like a little kid.

"What was your first impression of Spider Kumonos's sidekick God Tarantula/Tarantula Knight?"

Ikeda: They're wonderful, aren't they? Notably, even though Tarantula is a giant robot, it's able to perform very gorgeous, delicately cool actions. DX Tarantula Knight has also been released, and I'd really like to decorate it in my room.

"It's understood that Ikeda-san has a "King-Ohger" merch corner in his home."

Ikeda: I've displayed King-Ohger post transformation figures, and pre-transformation acrylic stands. Jeramie's stand has recently been released. Naturally, Gira should be placed in the center, but in my house, Jeramie, Spider Kumonos and Tarantula Knight are the center (laughs).

"As filming continues, is there anything Ikeda-san would like to try as Jeramie?"

Ikeda: Spider Kumonos has the ability to control spider webs. I would like to use this ability to talk and fly around upside down while hanging on by the webs, even before transforming. I think it would be interesting to create the kind of eccentric image that only Jeramie could pull off. I'd like to experiment with scenes that make full use of wires.

"When it comes to action scenes like that, I think that proper body strength is necessary…"

Ikeda: I played soccer all the way through my 3rd year of high school, so I love to exercise (laughs). I know it'll be a lot of work, but since I'm able to be apart of a tokusatsu production, given the opportunity, I'd like to actively try my hand at action scenes!

"We're looking forward to it. Finally, what are your thoughts on playing Jeramie in the future?"

Ikeda: In terms of what will happen next, I really don't know. But, Jeramie is a character whose true feelings are shown through his facial expressions, so I hope to play him while emphasizing all of those emotions. I have had the pleasure of working together with truly wonderful staff and co-stars during the production of King-Ohger. I will do my best to continue to create a wonderful show with you all, so please give me your support! Jeramie will also be active in the upcoming movie, so please look forward to it!

⚔️Masato Yano (Rcules Husty) Interview (Page 65-67)

Yano: On the surface, he is a heroic king who wishes for the peace of Shugoddam. Behind the scenes, he is an arrogant dictator who is willing to sacrifice his people and invade other countries… The one who acts as a great wall that stands in front of Gira and his comrades, is none other than Rcules Husty. In this issue, we interviewed Masato Yano-san, who plays the role of Rcules, about creating the role of Rcules and his approach to acting. As well as the treasured episodes with his co-stars…?

"First, I would like to ask a few personal questions. Do you have any memories of any tokusatsu works?"

Yano: In regards to Super Sentai, I was obsessed with with "Denji Sentai Megaranger." I remember having the toys and playing hero with my friends. But my absolute favorite work was "Juukou B-Fighter." Beat Machine and the Juukou Base were the first toys from any tokusatsu show that were given to me, I loved them so much that I still remember them very well.

"Since then, did you ever think you'd want to be an actor playing a hero?"

Yano: No, no, my childhood dream was something else entirely (laughs). But actually, when I was in elementary school, I appeared as a child actor in "Kamen Rider Agito." At the time, there was a training school called Toei Academy within Toei Movie Studios, and that's where I once attended. Performance was part of the class, and this was before my debut, so I don't know if I can call it an entertainment career.

"So Yano-san, do you consider "King-Ohger" to be the first tokusatsu work you've appeared in?"

Yano: Since my debut was through theater (stage plays), I've always thought that tokusatsu was a world that I had no connections to. Many of the roles I've played in the past have often been that of a dark or fearsome character. Or, for example, playing the role of a criminal. It's a position that contrasts completely with tokusatsu works that are meant for children to watch. At the time, I was really surprised when I was asked to be apart of this production.

"The role of Rcules was not an audition, but rather an offer right?"

Yano: Previously, I had worked with Director (Kazuya) Kamihoriuchi-san (the main director of King-Ohger) on "Tokusou 9 (Season 5)", so I think that's why he invited me on. Also, I had worked with (Kotobuki) Kamiaka-san, who is in charge of filming for King-Ohger, in "Muyo Ireinkyo Shugyo (6)", so it was easy for me to get a feel for this project because it didn't feel like my first time on set.

"You also co-starred with (Taisei) Sakai-san, who plays the role of Gira, in "Shinyu wa Akujo" which was broadcast during January of this year."

Yano: That's right (laughs). I once asked Sakai-kun, who played the role of a junior colleague, "Have you decided on what project you'll act in next?" He responded with, "I can't tell you just yet…" and continued to keep it to himself. From the way he answered, I somehow suspected that he would be in the next Super Sentai series (laughs). When I asked him to "Atleast give me a hint," he told me that apparently he would have an "older brother." I responded with "It would be interesting if I got to play the role of a big brother," and then a week later I actually received the offer to play the role of Rcules! It was a big shock (laughs).

"What a fateful turn of events! When you were contacted with the offer, what kind of impression did you get from King-Ohger?"

Yano: I though it was interesting how everyone plays a leading role. Also, Rita's gender isn't explicitly stated, is it? I thought that was another perspective that was typical of modern times. In the case of Rcules, I simply thought that his costumes were decorated with so much gold that they were glittering. The abundance of gold is connected to the idea that he is a king among kings. Just wearing it makes you feel more confident. However, when I read his setup, I felt as though Rcules was a high quality heel (villain). It's an intimidating role, as he's always at odds with Gira.

"How did you go about creating Rcules's character?"

Yano: To be honest, I'm the only one who is given advanced knowledge on future developments before the shooting starts. Sakai-kun and the other six don't know anything, but I do. While keeping it hidden, I'll read the script and speculate, "So this is what's going to happen later on," while also acting unnoticed as to make sure the audience isn't spoiled.

"What exactly does acting unnoticed mean?"

Yano: First, make sure you don't make a face that will end up revealing your true intentions. Don't imagine what you're thinking about in the moment, or about your personal life. I think Rcules's charm lies in how mysterious he is. Furthermore, Shugoddam has a stronger military force than any of the other kingdoms, and in order to keep that dignity, I must be mindful of both my posture and tone of my voice. I try not to blink too much, and slow down my speech about two levels compared to my normal speed.

"Yano-san, what are you particularly conscious of when you are performing?"

Yano: This isn't limited to just King-Ohger, but I am always paying attention to the theatrics of my hand movements. I believe that hand movement can bring out a character, and if that part is neglected, the character's image would fall apart. I hope that, by all means, you will pay attention to Rcules's hand movements.

"I would also like to ask you about your co-stars. Rcules has two close servants, Douga and Boshimar. Yutaka Morioka-san, who plays Douga, and Jubun Fukuzawa-san who plays Boshimar, have had many scenes together."

Yano: That's right, I feel more at ease having both of them on either side. Actually, I don't treat Douga and Boshimar in the same way that I do the rest of my entourage, as I try to act a little different between the two of them. Some viewers noticed the difference in performance when I was searching on SNS, and they shared their impressions with both Morioka-san and Fukuzawa-san.

"What was your reaction after looking at the main story?"

Yano: I don't often watch the works in which I appear in, but I am genuinely curious to see how King-Ohger will turn out. And since we'll be filming long term, I try to check out how the previous story turned out while getting ready for filming.

"What is your favorite scene in the story so far?"

Yano: It's Episode 8! It's because it was the first transformation scene I performed in my life. The transformation poses were assigned to me by the action director (Watanabe) Jun-san, and I keep thinking about what to do, as a chance like this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. At first, the idea was to just simply pull the Ohger Calibur lever, so that I wouldn't overlap with the other five, but unlike them, I prioritized sex appeal over passion (laughs).

"How did you feel when you actually saw the transformation scene?"

Yano: I felt numb! First of all, not only was I fascinated by the sound effects, but the atmosphere of a king was overflowing, which I enjoyed alot. The graphics, which are more advanced than the tokusatsu shows that I watched as a child, were wonderful, and I was more than happy to become the silver hero, Ohkuwagata Ohger. When I was a child, I liked gold and silver origami more than other colors, and I think silver is a special color. It was a very emotional moment for me, as it was the moment I became the hero of such a color.

"The Secret of King Rcules," a spin-off featuring Ohkuwagata Ohger and Rcules as the main character, is now available on Youtube. When did you first hear about the production of the spin-off?"

Yano: When I was contacted for the role of Rcules, the production of "The Secret of King Rcules" had already been arranged. For the Super Sentai series, it seems to be a rare occurrence for a spin-off work to be developed in conjunction with the initial TV series. In addition, it's available on Youtube, so I like that anyone can watch it. We will be filming it alongside the TV show, and while I was busy during the time we were filming, I always did my best as I was happy regardless.

"The key visuals for "The Secret of King Rcules" was also very cool!"

Yano: Yes, It's good!! The key visual is Rcules sitting on the throne, with the image of Ohkuwagata Ohger overlapping the other half of his body. To tell you the truth, I don't remember shooting stills for this key visual (laughs). I really don't remember. I'm sure it's the result of the designer's artificial editing technique. It was as if I was already in that situation and took a still in one shot. I sent it to everyone in our performers group LINE. They said, "You're so cool!" (laughs).

"In "The Secret of King Rcules" The development of Rcules being judged by Rita is depicted."

Yano: During the trial with Rita in Gokkan, the Bugnarak come into Shugoddam. It's for that reason that Rcules makes the decision to vacate the castle. Such an exchange is one of the three key points of "The Secret of King Rcules," however I would like you to watch it simply because it is interesting to see Rcules in handcuffs. And above all else, I want you to pay attention to King Ohger ZERO!

"I always enjoy reading Yano-san's Twitter feed, and I see that you are checking the opinions of the viewers."

Yano: That's right (laughs). When the broadcast first began, I honestly didn't expect to receive such an overwhelming reaction…I thought it would be nice if it would generate a little conversation, but every week lots of people would send me feedback and then give me their thoughts…Something else that caught my attention was the fact that these people who support Rcules had voluntarily added the word "tool" after their handle names.

"Because of the line, "People are tools" (laughs)."

Yano: After seeing the photo shoot, I started to update my Twitter more frequently, even though I hadn't been very active on it in the past. Words relating to King-Ohger were trending every week, that I was surprised on its impact. For this, "Rcules" would like to extend a thank you!

"Filming for King-Ohger will continue on, Yano-san, is there anything you would like to challenge yourself with?"

Yano: It would be to have a straightforward action scene. In "The Secret of King Rcules" we showed off a little bit of one, but I would like to perform one in the main story. From my previous works, I have experience in both action scenes and sword fighting, and I feel as though Jun-san is looking at me as if to say "You wanna do it?" (laughs). Also, as I had mentioned earlier, I don't know anything about Rcules's personal life, so I'd like to see a scene where Rcules is doing something other than political affairs. Maybe Rcules's morning routine?

"I was thinking about it earlier but, the impression of Rcules that we see in the show, and the impression of Yano-san that we are interviewing now is quite different (laughs)."

Yano: I'm completely different from Rcules! (laughs). When I feel that everyone is tired, or that the atmosphere on set is tense, I try to brighten the mood. Like maybe I'll try making a weird face. Since we're going to be together for a year, why don't we try to have a good time? Besides, I want them to get to know me better. I want to listen to what everyone has to say, and I also want to be listened to. I'm conscious of developing these relationships. I often perform alongside (So) Kaku-san who plays Kaguragi, but recently Mami Kamura-san, who plays Suzume, has joined the cast and we now have more cast members of the same generation. I'm very pleased about that as well!

"Finally, what is your enthusiasm for King-Ohger throughout this Summer?"

Yano: I hope that you will believe in Rcules and look forward to the future stories! Please be sure to check out "The Secret of King Rcules," available on Youtube, along with the main story! SO I binge watched the second season, patience isn't my name, and WHAT THE FUCK. Was not prepared for that rollercoaster. I gotta be honest, I almost stopped watching and went to sleep halfway through the season like ugh I fucking hate that Marcus dude, sure in the end I understand why he was a necessary evil for the plot but I fucking hate love triangles. Happiness and love look wonderful in Wille, like the literal heart eyes he's delivering there? That's how I feel when I see Simon too. Relatable character is relatable. Based on the event description and then bunny plush being w tsukasa in the untrained.. im inclined to think because he's been cast as a minor role, he's kind of. like. dw daichan already spoiled it on the stream last month lmao. Oh this event looks so interesting and frankly!! it's perfect for tsukasa's character arc!!! sorry about the excess of exclamation marks i'm excited about the possibility that people might finally understand him after this event and finally free me from writing analysis posts about him haha.

him being a minor part is literally what he needs to improve his acting. he's always either the lead or a major character, taking a step back is like another slap of realism for him and honestly, it might even be better for him than the challenges he's faced before when he struggled with lead roles. because he can't always be the lead, that just isn't a possibility. no matter how good an actor is they will not be the lead in everything they star in. he's pushed his limits to get lead roles before (Torpe, Rio, also the secondary lead Bartlett), so i think approaching a minor role is going to be a whole new experience for him.

I'm especially interested in the fact he's tasked with making the character feel real because we all know what that means: some good old fashioned Tsukasa unpacking his emotions. we don't know yet exactly what this minor character is doing, so i can't really make any guesses as to what is meant to feel real about it since we don't know their motivations and conflicts yet, but i get the feeling it will play into the fact that Tsukasa got the minor role, like how Rio played into his weaknesses and Torpe connected to his younger self.

As I said, Tsukasa is pretty much always the lead or some significant role. In this scenario as well when what he’s trying to do is improve his acting, such a minor role could feel like nothing. I think those feelings (be it annoyance or disappointment or whatever it may be in the story) are somehow going to play a part in how he has to make such a minor character feel real.

Also I think one of the aspects Tsukasa struggles with most is understanding the characters he plays. With Torpe he couldn’t relate to him and therefore struggled to play the role because he couldn’t get his head around how the character should act. With Rio he struggled too, and tried to replicate some of the character’s struggles in real life to help him try and get into the mindset of the character. But those two were MCs, a minor character with three lines is a whole different story because they don’t have an arc. However, all characters in a good story will have some sort of motive and you will be able to tell what that is from only a few lines. Good dialogue should be able to tell you a lot about a character. I think that’s what Tsukasa is going to learn in this event. Minor characters are not irrelevant even if they don’t contribute to any major plot points. All the characters in the world of that story are real people with individual lives and thoughts and feelings.

And to steer this away from me talking too much about screenwriting I think a minor role as you pointed out could be a hit to his desire to make people smile. Because who cares about a character with three lines? The hero makes people smile, not a forgettable background guy. The forgettable background guy won’t mean anything to anyone, he won’t make anyone smile, and he’s not a star.

Also the preview and title I think will play into these insecurities and lessons. He can’t be the lead every time, he can’t always be the big star of the show. However he can make a small role into a highlight, and even if he isn’t the frontman, there will always be people who will view him as the star of the show regardless, like Saki (Usa-chan) and WxS, and he can at least make them smile.

How would you think the story would've played out if a different Gem got transported into the games, and I'm not limiting it to just the Afterlife Gems. Like if either Empires Season Gems met Pearl instead of Spider, especially Season 2 Esmp Gem, considering she's essentially the opposite of Pearl in a way?? Sun imagery with butterfly wings and the pointed ears on her skin implies she'd look/be something like a sun elf yet also unlike Pearl she's in almost complete control of her own fate and what 'games' she plays by hopping different universes and LARPing as whatever character she wants. Season one Gem can also be interesting, especially if it's near the end of the season or after the end of the season. Season one Gem getting transported into a death game where her people who look like her friends who are either missing or dead in her eyes messed up in ways they weren't before and one of your closest friends aka Pearl seems so sad and gone from the cheerful queen you knew her as. Also I choose to believe that S1!Gem is at least passively or actively aware of differing timelines cause of her reaction from when she met S2!Sausage and I think she was aware that she basically just three Evil Sausage into a little mirror of her own universe which would be like an alternate ones, I'm kinda reaching, especially since I haven't rewatched Empires S1 yet, but still I can't resist the angst of Gem knowing that these aren't her friends but still desperately trying to hold onto them like they are because the rapture happened so suddenly and abruptly when things were finally looking better and she doesn't wanna accept things. Okay...let me just put this into seperated questions...cause this got potential. So ES1 and ES2 Gems would be probably totally different with the reaction to Pearl and everything happening.

ES1 Gem, post rapture (or during rapture), has basically nothing left. No kingdom, no friends, she only has her magic, Violet and fWhip. She didn't "roleplay", she isn't "LARPing", everything happening to her is real, and hurtful. If she was the one transported into the games, she would find familiarity with Pearl, but she would know something is wrong. She is The Headmistres of Crystal Cliffs, she is The Grand Wizard, she would notice Pearl's acting strange (Red stuff) and her and others memories being off.

ES2 Gem, however, wouldn't think of this "transportation" as a big deal at first. I don't think she would take it seriously at the start, as "it's just a game" or "it's just LARPing". She couldn't understand in canon why nobody else (except Pixlriffs and Oli) didn't think of anything as a big deal...she only thought they were good actors in a way. It would take Pearl's death for her to realize that this "game" is not as innocent as she might have thought...

As for Grians and Pearl's reaction? Well...

Grian wouldn't mind ES2 Gem, she looks like a guilable little princess that he can wrap around his finger... But ES1 Gem? Oh, that would be dissaster. He can tell this one is smart, he can tell she has powers on her side... He would try to get rid of her asap, even going as far as killing her himself.

Pearl, on the other hand, would feel a little weirded out by any of those two. ES1 Gem is nice....strangely overly nice, for some reason... And ES2 Gem doesn't seem to take anything seriously...she is very carefree for someone who shouldn't have unlimited lives (Grey names don't work with the same rules as those in from the specific world)

There is a lot of Angst potential, just in a different favour than what my version with Spider Gem has to offer :)

Last Twilight Episode 10 Reaction

I wasn't even going to write my own posts of LT but this episode just delivered punch after punch! I couldn't help but comment, so–

I love to see Jimmy and Mark using their dramatic acting microexpressions attacks on my heart, i'm bleeding but I'm fascinated. Sea has grown a lot and acts so believable, I want to praise him. But damn, maybe it's because I actually remember Jimmy and Mark since Bad Buddy, the contrast is huge here. Jimmy also does that thing with the jaw that makes him look more manly and mature, none of the young and mischeivous Wai, in Vice Versa he also didn't reach this level of complexity, I think we all should bow to P'Aof & team for leading him.

I know I should be talking about Day who isn't crying while his family is devastated (he knew and was prepared and felt comfortable as long as he had Mork, they were not prepared) but I am biased... The way Night didn't even dare to touch Day when he wanted to comfort him at doctor office Т_Т And how later, at the dinner table he looked with such disbelief, and hesitantly started teasing Day as sibling again when Day reached out Т_т And how for months he felt he deserved to be silent, torn apart and uncomfortable, yelled at and judged for not taking care of his brother properly.

But also Day and Mork, of course, the way Day bravely said "The last thing I saw in my life was his face", and Mork said "I'm sorry" and I can understand the mom going "you crossed over all lines with ny son, get out of my house", and it's probably huge red HR violation but Jimmy's big teary eyes aaaaah how could she not fold? I saw some comments on tumblr about the show not calling out her being abusive and everything, but I strongly disagree and I think it all makes sense. The strong single mom, the asian family, the unwanted oppression and self-misery that finally cracked during Christmas dinner – I could probably write my view on this in another post but who cares.

Okay, THERE ARE MORE SCENES THAT MAKE ME ALMOST CRY Poor Night, he was so unloved and judged in this family for a year, I will actually fight everyone to give him his own special beef stew.

He was going to distance himself out of guilt as a self punishment and feelings of 'the hero is here, the villain should vanish' supported by both people closest to him, but Day insisted he's a family and he should stay, reminding their mother of it… Oh no. So many feelings.

Again, it deserves another post. Where I talk about how Night feels like such a man, a protective adult who changed and is able and actively wants to take care of dear people, but who looks and feels like a small punished kid in his own family house. Day too, btw, but he hasn't found as much confidence as he struggles with blindness as well.

But I loved that family having fun scene. I loved it so much. That family trying out cake eating blindly was so nice, oozing of happiness. The curse of misery deserves to be broken, and the kids are the one breaking it, as usual. Mother should remember what's really important - her and her kids happiness, not control that's led by fear. But it's not easy. This is why this scene is so important, and filled with happy and relieved tears. Tbh I didn't feel like P'Aof glossed over the mother-son conflict, it's just that the narration feels... I don't wanna say more asian, it might be different from the sort of justice/revenge what some of the people wanted to see. I understand it and it hits home.

Oh I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, P'AOF!

Something tells me in a very loud way that this operation won't go well, look at Sea's face! The scene just screams "I still can't see anything". It would be such a P'Aof type of teaser as well, give hope and then trick into the opposite. I can't imagine him actually getting his vision cured. I'll fight myself if that's what actually happens in the next episode. It's a great way to show that you should just keep enooying life instead of regretting the cure.

It could be like the Barbie movie, but with Gun being everything. We had this. They were paired together in Cause You're My Boy. Then they were hinted at in Dark Blue Kiss. But then, they were made into brothers in Fish Upon the Sky, so Phuwin now has Pond, and Neo got Louis. But why though? Why were we denied another adventure of these two being paired up together?! I had them down on my hopes for a 2023 offering, and I'll have them down every year from now on. I want them back! NOW!

Earth x Papang

Aof was crazy for pulling this off in Moonlight Chicken, but now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it. And even more, I WANT IT! I have never seen Earth kiss like that, and he has had several partners. Did Aof strike a goldmine with this pairing? Papang has always done his job, but these scenes, which lasted no more than eight minutes, gave me an alternate timeline that I must see play out on my screen. Immediately.

Pond x Nanon

If Aof was crazy for Earth x Papang then Jojo was batshit insane for Pond x Nanon in Dirty Laundry. These two had a strip-off pole dance in a club called Boys Next Door, Nanon twisted Pond's nipples for information, then Pond's character had sex with a client with Nanon and Film's character in the car. This shit was wild, but that was only 15% of the hijinks between these two. I need them to recreate this creepy magic, and I need it to be twelve episodes long with at least 52 minutes runtime per episode.

Gigie x Fah

Since I mentioned Jojo, The Warp Effect is queer. QUEER! It gave use Fluke with Thor, Jan with Silvy (oh, my God that magical being could choke me!), and Mark with Best, yet, it toyed with us by suggesting the possibility of Gigie with Fah. Be brave about it, GMMTV! More than one wlw couple can exist in a show. Give me a redo, and this time, give me these two picking each other again, and again, and again regardless of what Alex (New) does with those Polaroids.

New x Sing x Fluke

Mentioning The Warp Effect reminded me that these three could out beat any historical trio including Destiny's Child, The Jonas Brothers, AND Charlie's Angels! Sing and New have been around for a bit, so I'm surprised they haven't acted in more together, but throw Fluke in there, and they had the perfect dynamic: Gay pretty boy and former bully with kinky puppy and space enthusiast trying to help out their bi idiot friend (it's canon to me). Sing and New will be in the Thai remake of Cherry Magic, so I'm sure Fluke could fit in there somewhere somehow. Make it happen, GMMTV!

First x Khaotung x Sea

And on the topic of throuples, this one hasn't happened, but by golly do I want it! Whoever paired First and Khaotung together deserves a Noble Peace Prize, but whoever thought of interviewing them with Sea deserves the Library of Congress Living Legend award and to be the Grand Marshall at the NYC Pride Parade. The fact that Double Savage cast them as brothers instead of a one-sided love affair was in the words of the most beautiful Raye a "DUMB DECISION!" Then to have them color coded?! THE AUDACITY! And no, I will not be writing about the colors because unless these two get paired again, as LOVERS, I will rewire this story in my head of what it should have been to deserve these two amazing actors partnered up with each other rather than the poop pile I got. I wrote what I wrote.

If you know anything about me, know that I'm a JoongDunk fan first, and a human second. It has absolutely nothing to do with their acting even though that's what you asked for. It has everything to do with them. Much like the interview with First, Khaotung, and Sea, Joong and Dunk in their interviews are ridiculous. They resort to tomfoolery and instead of answering the questions, they start arguing about the most trivial details. ForceBook and GeminiFourth do this, but add in JoongDunk's live streams and Safe House footage, and I don't know how they get anything done when filming because they are either arguing, dancing, napping, or giggling. Hidden Agenda yesterday, please!

Watched the new atla show. And now I will share my thoughts because I need to put them somewhere.

I agree with people that it kind of fell flat. More like an impersonation than the actual show. Also, people are right, where is Katara's rage? I'm not going to dive into it, because people already have, but Katara is stubborn and righteous, so where'd they put those qualities?

I wish the show would stop telling us everything. Like, stop telling me that Ozai thought finding the Avatar would be impossible, and sent Zuko on this quest anyway. I know, it's obvious. I don't need to be told the subtext, that's why it's subtext. Subtality could do this show a world of good.

Zhao's death sucked. It was perfect how it was in the original, it showed Zuko's kindness, and Zhao's hubris being his downfall was perfect. Also, this isn't necessarily a complaint, just something I noticed, Zhao feels different in the show. A guy with similar aspirations and ideas, yes, but not the same guy we all hate.

The acting wasn't always the greatest, but I can't tell if it's actually the actor's fault or script (probably script).

I wish Sokka was involved in the Jet plotline, he played a big part in it originally, and it really showed his true character.

Why did Katara and Aang never get any actual training in Northern Water Tribe? That's what they were there to do. Somehow, magically Katara became a master waterbender, because she what? Believed in herself? That's not how learning a skill works. Imagine trying to learn the flute, you're confident, and you figured out on your own how to play a few notes. But you still need someone to teach you the rest of the notes, how to trill, how to read the sheet music, etc. You can't learn everything just from confidence.

The costumes bothered me so much. Sokka and Katara's coats looked so light weight, which is probably more comfortable for the actors, but those coats could not shield you from a light breeze, much less a frozen tundra. Also someone pointed out that their clothes don't actually look worn, and they're right.

What on earth was the scarf scene? Why was it there? What was the point? I am not a Zutara shipper (though I have no hate for the shippers, just dislike for the ship), and now online is just going to be posts about that.

Was Suki just not wearing her warrior make-up because she had to kiss Sokka? Either way, it's still upsetting. The one time she doesn't wear her warrior make-up (which is an honor to wear) is when she's finally in a real fight, and on the day Kyoshi shows up too. Also, no Sokka wearing warrior make-up? I get if they couldn't fit it in, but it's still a bit sad.

I don't understand them getting rid of the fact that Aang ran away, I think it really makes his character more complex as he struggles to take on the responsibilities of the Avatar.

They sorta switched Sokka and Katara's roles in the Omashu tunnels, which I don't get.

Having Zuko fight Ozai in the Agni Kai was a terrible idea.

I'm sorry to say this, because I don't like Zuko being in pain. But Zuko's scar is smaller and a lot more understated than in the animation. I don't know much about burnt tissue, or how it will scar, especially with their technology. But we rarely see heroes with facial scars beyond a line through the eye or something, I don't want it taken away. The scar doesn't even seem to reach his ear. And I'm sad about them confirming his sight was fine. Zuko with some hearing and vision loss is technically just a headcanon. But then why did Zuko only leave his unscarred side up when sleeping around people he didn't trust in the animated version?

I could tell that Aang was airbending during it, so it wasn't really flying. But it's a little too similar, especially considering how significant flying is in Korra.

The thing that bothered me the most was Yue's death. Why was it barely acknowledged?! Yue made a huge sacrifice, but instead we're making up a plotline that causes Aang to have the spotlight instead. And when Sokka was talking to Arnook about Yue, somehow the conversation became focused on Sokka, and his insecurity, instead of someone they both deeply miss (though Sokka and Yue's relationship development could've been better). Sokka is joking around again by the end of the episode, it feels like her death never happened! And why make her a fish! No offense to fishes, but it feels less impactful, and in the original, we could see how Yue was able to keep some of herself alive in the way she presents herself as a spirit, she doesn't do that here.

Some things I liked:

Zuko being upset about Aang stealing his journal.

Sokka and Suki had really good chemistry (though, the show doesn't really give us a reason why Suki likes him, she seems annoyed with him when they first meet).

The effects were good, and I liked a lot of the fight scenes.

Kyoshi.

Oma and Shu being lesbians.

That one lady hitting Zuko for trying to hurt Aang.

Suki being awkward and beating up the guy she likes.

I am impressed with how they were able to overlap some story lines. That must have been difficult to figure out.

Now where were we? Ah yes. Cutter lied about their deaths and has an evil girlfriend who makes his robots. Hilbert and Lovelace told Minkowski about the death thing to get her on board, and once they have her, she should be able to get Doug and Hera on board.

And how many copies of the SI-5? Because we already had two Duck boys. If another Kepler strolls in and starts talking about Whiskey again, that might just be too much for me.

It's not looking good. Personally, I think the most expendable is Hilbert. They can kill the character off without having to fire the actor. If anyone's about to die, it's him.

Episode 46: Bolero

Is that music? Um... what is this? I do wonder why they chose to send music, when they've demonstrated that they can send voices.

Yeah...this is a lot. And they lost their human doctor and robot doctor. As much as I hated them, they were useful. Unlike the errand boys, who only seem to be good a cowering in fear from ducks and giving speeches about whisky.

Oh and apparently they like music too. How nice.

"If the commander wishes for silence, then silence she shall have" and yet you're still talking.

Yeah...what do they do now. They have to warn everyone, expose Cutter and get him to jail, but the aliens are also invading. Oh gosh, are Cutter and Pryce aliens? Is this a plot to replace humanity with aliens? That at least makes more sense than Cutter's a loon who just wants to take a gander at some dangerous aliens, but why do I get the feeling that "Cutter's crazy" is what's actually happening here?

Oh right Kepler's special DNA. But your DNA still works even if it's detached from your body, right? 🧬

I AM ASSEMBLING A TEAM FOR A LOW-BUDGET ANIMATED MOVIE

I know am asking a LOT right now, but considering this is a passion project without a deadline or budget, I guess it's why I'm asking here (and well, I'm no professional lmao).

In 2019, I wrote a short quebecois (french canadian) cyberpunk, action, sci-fi story novel. It was my most beloved project, and it still holds a big spot in my heart (even tho some newer stories of mine are higher quality). Ever since I made it, all I've done is draw scenes, characters, anything from it. I have a folder of about 200 pictures, animatics and concept art added to it over the years. One thing doesn't work for me to do the project though: I can't voice act, I can't make music, and I can't animate (well, not anything above basic storyboards, and I wanna do something in 3D lmao).

I have... well, not a lot of money (no seriously, I am VERY broke). So well while I can try my best to pay anyone who is willing to help, I can't guarantee it'll be a lot (which I know it can be frustrating, as an artist, to not be monetarily compensated for your hard work, so that's why I'm saying it now).

Due to all of this, I'm only asking for people who are GENUINELY interested. I can't provide much in terms of budget so I don't wanna give anyone false hopes. But I promise that I will work very hard to fill in any position that I can, like script writing, character and environmental concept art, direction, I can even try to voice-act if there's not enough actors! As for the work itself, I allow as many breaks as needed. You're allowed to work on any personal project if you ever feel tired or overwhelmed. I too will take many breaks. I don't mind how long it takes, months, one year, a few years even, as long as I know it'll eventually be done and that the people working are genuinely interested.

Now if you've stuck this far and are still interested, I'll share the requirements:

MOST IMPORTANT PART: I am searching for 3D modelers and animators (if you can do both that's cool but it would be nice to separate tasks so it's less tiring for each person working). My characters are very diverse-looking and expressive, so above all, I'd prefer someone who can animate faces well because that's really what I want to pop out (but if you can't, that's okay too, I'm not THAT picky) (tho despite being cartooney, I'm more in the simplistic, Clone Wars - Arcane department than I am in the realistic Disney - Pixar one)

I need voice actors who speak french. No English-only speakers, sorry. Most should be natively québécois (or french who can imitate the accent fluently) but there's a few characters who are anglophones or have a french accent, so that could help too if you're not from Québec but wanna make a voice. The story is rather dramatic and action-packed, with a lot of violence, fight scenes, screams of pain and agony, all that, so be ready for that

And of course, I'd like to have some people who can do the soundtrack (one person or more working together). The story is sci-fi/cyberpunk taking place in Québec, so I'd expect someone who can go more techno, european (and cinematic too)

YOU DON'T NEED TO UNDERSTAND FRENCH TO WORK. I'm fully bilingual so I won't have trouble communicating with you. The only language requirements would be in voice-acting, or if you're working in team and need to communicate with someone else, but otherwise there really is no need because, well, google translate is a thing, and I can always be a translator for you as well if needed.

BONUS: If there's someone available (you don't HAVE to for that part, it's just to make things easier, but they're not requirements because those are all things I can do myself), I could always get some bonus script writers to help the process go a bit faster, and translators in case someone wants to put subtitles in different languages

911 Lone Star Rewatch: 1x08

Monster inside! This is probably one of my favorites from season 1. The drama of it is just so good.

I'm sorry, but you are telling me that this couple that is out to dinner together, this lady hasn't been apart from her kid at all for 10 months???? Like 10 months without a minute away from your child??? Girl. That isn't healthy.

I need more TK and Judd interaction. These little moments in season 1 are just so good. I love TK teasing him about being afraid of snakes.

Can't believe that this is the first episode where we actually get to see Iris! Also I do love how they show the beginning symptoms of her Schizophrenia in this seen with the word salad part.

Hmm scariest movies of all time.... I think my answer is probably It. Like the original one from the 90s.

"I got stuff to do" TK says, staring sadly at the cancer dog that he fell in love with immediately.

I don't know. I just really don't have any interest in Michelle. I don't know what it is, but it just doesn't click for me. Like even the calls she has, which are objectively very interesting, I just can't quite get myself to care. I understand that it was largely a result of the pandemic, but the cast switch up between S1 and S2 was so needed.

I love that bit of BTS info that Ronen shared about how in any of the parts where he is yelling at Buttercup, the dog wasn't actually there. Like they didn't want him to act mean to the dog-actor since he wouldn't understand why he was being yelled at.

And it's really a shame that Michelle doesn't work as a character in this because Liv Tyler is such a good actor. Especially in these scenes with the woman who plays her mom--who is giving her absolutely nothing to work with.

"You being a dick to a cancer dog?" Also their bunk room beds look so comfy.

I know that I should be taking this conversation between Owen and TK very seriously and I should have some nuanced thoughts about this... but TK is wearing gray sweatpants

"Of course it's about more than the damn dog!" TK expressing grief and sadness with these almost angry outbursts because he's so distressed. He does the same thing in the soulmates scene.

The first time I saw the call with the man who has dementia, I totally thought the premise of the call was going to be him accidentally stabbing himself with that big ass knife he takes out for the tiny mustard jar.

The bait and switch (and switch again honestly) of this call is so good. The break in to the dementia reveal to the heart attack, all culminating in TK getting shot. It's a wild ride.

And of course, let's talk about TK getting shot. I literally had to rewatch this scene twice because so much happens in such a short span of time that it's hard to take it all in at once. The panic and confusion. Like someone asks 'was that a gunshot?' and like Owen looks at the boy and then at the blood splatter on the wall before he fully registers that TK was hit. And TK just slowly deflating from the impact.

So TK was in a third mystery coma that we don't know about. So is this moment after he was shot, the second coma? Does that mean that Owen has been through this with him before and that's why he seems so practiced with the idea of talking to him while he's out?

Also he calls him his beautiful kid. I need that teary eyed emoji.

I love that Owen doesn't even hesitate with letting Carlos in to see TK. He sees him and just immediately understands.

Carlos' thumb under TK's sleeve!!! Paul putting his hand on Carlos' shoulder!!! Buttercup in TK's bed!!!!! Just getting sucker punched left and right in these last few minutes.

10/10 once again! And definitely one of my favorites from season 1. The next two episodes are also great. They really finished this season off strong.

Oh nonny I don't know if you truly do! My opinions are controversial at minimum and likely to get me cancelled by GO fandom at most!

*deep breath* Okay you asked for it. Don't come at me when you don't like what I have said.

I'll put this under a cut cos it'll no doubt get long and ranty and look fair warning to anyone clicking read more, these are JUST one person's opinions. We can disagree on those things. I'm not going around screaming at people that they are wrong and I've kept this all very close to my chest for a very long time now. So please take that with a pinch of salt before you decide to read my rant.

*sigh* this is probably a bad idea but here goes...

The thing is, I love analysing TV and film and literature, and I take an analytical view of things where I try to set myself apart as much as possible from the highly emotional volatile fandom response. (I dont always succeed in this but I try).

One thing I always stress is that characters in TV shows or movies are *not real people* and therefore you can't apply real people sensitivities to them. They are instead frankenstein mixes of what the creative team wants them to be, and every little decision about the characters is carefully thought out. Intention and interpretation matters. My view on a character is not an invalidation of a real persons identity. If I say a character is not X, that does not mean I think that real people who are X are not valid, or that I don't believe in their real life identity. Is this all clear so far? Okay.

Representation also matters and I have seen Good Omens fandom tie themselves up in a frenzie of policing fans and call out posts accusing anyone who wants more from AziraCrows relationship a whole multitude of x-phobics depending on the buzzword of the day. To the point that these fans have convinced themselves that a kiss or love declaration or ANYTHING from AziraCrow that would be considered more explicit than what we got in Season 1 is something they DON'T want because somehow that would take away from the *x-identity rep* theyve decided to claim as canon. But sadly these fans have rather deluded themselves because none of those identities are *canon* in season 1. Even the claims that AziraCrow are gender non conforming non binary etc are not *canon* because *canon* means that any dumbass regular audience member could watch the thing and say "oh. That character is x". Yes Crowley is Nanny Asteroth for a time, but a general audience is just going to view that as male Crowley in drag. Sorry but its the truth. They see David Tennant playing Crowley, they see a male actor playing Crowley, they are gonna view Crowley as a male. Unless it is textually stated by Crowley that he isn't male, then they aren't gonna get it and it isn't the rep you want it to be, because representation should mean that everyone ELSE also notices and learns to understand about those marginalised identities.

Take Sandman. Very gay. Very very gay. So gay that people from the dumbass general audience (the DGA going forward) went online to complain about it being gay because the gay was so very obvious to them, so obvious in fact they claimed *every* character in Sandman was gay and having gay sex and I'll be honest it left me rather disappointed when Morpheus didnt fuck Hob Gadlings brains out in episode 6 like he clearly wanted to, but I digress.

Take OFMD, Jim is a canonical non binary character and the show makes this clear in the canon text without ever having Jim say they are "non binary" or have the clumsy awkward explanation that is clearly for the DGA about it, but instead the conversation flows naturally - are you a woman? I don't know. Are you a man? I don't know. I'm just Jim. Okay Just Jim. We will refer to you by they/them pronouns now. It's all cool.

But Crowley and Aziraphale are characters played by male actors who always use he/him pronouns. Even as Nanny Asteroth no one ever refers to the nanny as "she". So its not clear to the DGA. Them being asexual may be a valid headcanon, but its not canon if its never mentioned. If at some point someone said something to Zira about sex and he said "oh I don't go in for that sort of thing" then sure, that's got some canon merit to it, but otherwise Good Omens can NOT be applauded for being good asexual representation on television.

If your general audience of braindead heteronormative idiots isnt seeing it, its not technically canon. Its implied, subtextual, queer coded, hinted at, etc, but not *canon*. Its not gonna get a GLAAD nomination for representation and a bunch of queer journalists writing articles about it if its only *subtext*.

I don't recall any of the queer media people applauding Good Omens for being queer representation. I recall them all sort of scratching their heads being like "is it...?" and I recall a lot of people getting rather annoyed because NG took a stance online proclaiming that it was an obvious love story when really, from just watching the show... it kind of wasn't?

God this is gonna get me so much hate... *sigh* okay look. I adore season 1. I was totally with you guys celebrating how queer it all seemed to me and loving NGs responses on Twitter to anyone questioning the "friendship" between Az+Crow. I was also online getting wrapped up in the fandom echo chamber claiming it was 100% canon and anyone who didn't see it was a homophobic moron or whatever... yeah... but I've grown up a lot since 2019 surprisingly - the whole Destiel going "canon" and then getting shoved forcefully back into the metaphorical closet was a big eye opener and everything changed after November 5th 2020.

Suddenly, what Az+Crow had in season 1 wasn't enough anymore. It should never have been enough to begin with. I recall my very first watch and how I was seeing all the subtext and coding and clear romantic tropes build and build and then we got to that final scene in the ritz and all I wanted was for them to take each others hands, I watched with eager anticipation and... it didn't happen. I can vividly recall the disappointment I felt at that moment. I didn't need a kiss, or a declaration, but I wanted them to hold hands in that scene. They got so close! Zira leans in and places his hand on the table right by Crowley and my GOD it was like being edged without the pay off. I hated it. I HATED it because it would have been SO EASY but they didn't do it.

I also recall getting quietly annoyed at NG for claiming they held hands on the bus. I watched the slowed down zoomed in gifs of that moment and sorry, but no. They don't. Even if the actors actually DID hold hands, the camera doesn't pick it up clearly enough for it to mean a damn thing.

I totally understand people claiming that Az+Crow are already queer. It's totally valid to see yourself in them and want them to represent you. But the painful truth is that in season 1 of the show, they aren't anything of what you claim them to be. They are two characters who are male presenting who are very good friends to the point that its all a bit homoerotic. The DGA isn't gonna take any time to think about the complexities of angel and demon gender or the lack thereof, they are only gonna see two male actors playing said angel and demon. They aren't gonna think about you and your identity, and they aren't gonna pick up the subtext even if it is painfully obvious. Because they won't see it as gay unless it is explicitly gay.

But Saz, why should we care what the DGA thinks?

Because thats what this whole argument has always been about. Because that's what canon means. No one, not even the DGA are arguing today about whether or not Castiel is gay. No one in the DGA is arguing about Stede and Blackbeard, or Lucius. No one is arguing about the Corinthian or Johanna Constantine. They see that these characters are queer, they accept it. Simple. Because of this, it counts towards representation. Because it normalises our identities. By putting our identities into mainstream stories in such a way that they are unavoidable for the DGA, THAT is what representation is.

When characters and stories keep our identities buried in subtext and allusions and queer coding which quite frankly should have been left in the hays code era, it doesn't count towards representation, no matter what your fandom echo chamber may scream into the void. Or, for that matter, what your creator and fantasy genre author may claim in the void either.

Word of God may help us in a lot of ways, but if they aint putting it into the actual text, then word of god is meaningless in terms of representation as well. Disney claiming Valkyrie was bisexual doesn't mean a damn thing if she never discusses her bisexuality or has any scenes where she shows interest in the same sex. Thankfully that changed in the latest movie, but for a long time it was a problem.

Okay then. So what am I saying? Was NG queerbaiting us with AziraCrow in season 1?

No. Gods I hate that word. Queerbaiting is only occurring when the creators involved maliciously add queer subtext with the explicit intention of gaining popularity among queer audiences specifically with no intention to reward them by actually making those characters queer.

Now, I may not agree with people who claim Crowley and Aziraphale are explicitly queer in season 1, but I also don't think NG ever intended GO to be a queer show. He made GO to be a popular fantasy show as a last wish for his friend Terry Pratchet. He made it extremely faithful to the book in every way (in some ways, to the detriment of the show) and that includes keeping AziraCrows relationship in safe platonic territory. Yes he ramped up the romantic subtext, but I fully believe that this was because he had already decided he was going to further develop the story if season 1 was a hit, but I don't think for a second that he predicted that it would gain such massive traction in queer fandom circles.

No malicious intent to utilise the queer community, no queerbaiting. So lets just stamp down on that accusation once and for all. It's bullshit.

But that changes in season 2. So here is where I have been getting annoyed at GO fandom lately with all this "we don't need it to be explicit! A kiss would invalidate my identity! If they do anything it'll take away from ace rep! etc etc" SHUt UP!

Why do all these fans think kissing is something ace people don't do? Why would an innocent kiss invalidate ace rep? Are you HEARING YOURSELVES?! and okay, even if you are an ace person who does not ever kiss, are you so opposed to words of affirmation too? Are you a hater of love declarations now? Why is THAT such a terrible thing? You are deluding yourselves, and I get why. You are trying to protect yourselves from disappointment because you have spent 4 years screaming at people online and policing people who dare to say that AziraCrow aren't already canonically together and in love and have somehow tied your own identity into these characters to the point that you are frightened that season 2 might disprove your words and somehow invalidate your identity. Gods forbid if they DO kiss now you have lost the precious representation you claimed was so important to you right? But its NOT the case!

If nothing happens in GO S2 then it WOULD be queerbaiting. For the FIRST TIME. Because NG knows now how important AziraCrow's relationship is to the queer fans and he himself has been claiming its a love story for 4 years. If he didn't put his money where his mouth is and make them explicitly canonically queer and together in season 2 then I'm sorry but it would very much be queerbaiting. Keeping the loud queer fanbase on tenterhooks, getting them all excited so that GO trends on social media and then NOT following through? That's CLASSIC QUEERBAITING.

But NG isn't doing that. Because they are going to be together. Because it will be explicitly queer. Because even the trailer indicates this is the case. The season 1 GO trailer didn't include any of the romantic subtext if I recall correctly, it was solely promoted as a silly fantasy show. The season 2 trailer leans into the romance. It'll be explicitly clear - because I don't think NG is stupid enough to not go through with it. I understand why he didn't in season 1, there was a lot more at stake and he wanted to keep it totally 100% faithful to the book, but season 2 is a blank page, open book, nothing stopping it from happening. Plus, in 2023, in a post Destiel confession, post OFMD world, not going there would be just the most idiotic bad for business move the man could make.

So can GO fans please stop making bad faith arguments about why AziraCrow shouldn't be more explicitly together in season 2? Because I'll be honest, it is coming across less like you wanna protect the supposed "Ace representation" and more like maybe you are just uncomfortable with the idea of two middle aged male actors being physically intimate on screen.

Also if NG doesn't have the balls to go through with it, then can y'all please stop protecting him? I love the guy. I do. I think he is a talented genius who has done more for the fantasy genre than anyone else alive today. But gods, if he doesn't let AziraCrow at least confirm to themselves or other people that they have non platonic feelings for each other, in such a way that the DGA understands that this is a non platonic love story, then he deserves all the angry asks and queerbaiting accusations he will inevitably get. Personally, I don't think he's that dumb. So perhaps his fans can also have a bit more faith in him too.

As someone who relatively enjoyed MI7 (bc I go no thoughts mode and just watch Tom run around), im sooo curious about your thoughts

im putting this under the cut cause I need to rant about it again and its gonna be LONG, thank you for asking tho

a lot of this is gonna be a repeat of what I said when I watched the movie (I have not seen it since it was in theatres), idk where those posts are but they should be under #mi7 spoilers if you wanna find them.

okay first off im not gonna talk about the overall plot, I couldn't care less about it and I knew that going into the movie. its the stunts and the overall feel of that movie that piss me off. I watch mi movies because I wanna have a good time and watch tom cruise do cool stuff and thats not what I got out of this movie.

im starting with the cliff jump stunt cause I was just thinking about it. the buildup was Ass with a capital A. they cut away from ethan riding up the mountain too many times and for too long at a time. I was comparing it to the scene when ethans chasing walker in fallout because to me that was cut perfectly. Cutting from ethan to benji and sometimes walker for a few seconds so I knew where ethan was and where he was trying to get to but I still felt the build up, I knew he was gonna catch walker but I was still thinking "omg is he gonna make it?". and the cuts to benji and luthor worked well because they were still a part of what was going on and the map on benjis ipad helped visualize what was going on. in mi7 when Ethans riding up the mountain the cuts between him and benji where really good but I hate that they kept cutting back to the train. They could've easily had more obstacles for ethan on the way up the mountain if they needed! its a long ride but showing the mountain and a few shots of Ethan at different parts would've been good enough, we could've had Benji asking him "are you there yet?" like every minute so we get that a lot of time is passing but not enough that the tension stops building and a funny little joke between the two of them. I understand why it cuts back to grace/alanna on the train during that time but those are two very different things going on that are building tension in very different ways. call me crazy but ethan jumping off a cliff is different than grace dressed as someone she's not sitting down to talk to someone. it was just really hard to get invested in either of the two things going on. then the actual jumping off the cliff was such a letdown, I did not feel a fucking thing when he jumps off then it cuts away immediately after like that wasn't The Stunt of the movie?? you dont put a stunt like that on posters and post a 20 minute behind the scenes video about it for it to feel like that and show basically none of it!! show ethan flying through the sky!! show him landing on the train!!! I thought he was gonna land on the train but no that gets taken away in favour of a fucking joke when he crashes through the window. yes mi movies are supposed to be funny im fine with that I love that but come on!! let tom cruise land on the train!!! he can still slip and fall on top of the train but let that old man get his enrichment time!!

now for the train. Im sorry but it looked horrendous, the cgi was Not Good and I can't get past it. with other movies I try my best to not care but this is Mission Impossible. I know they did crash a train I love that but all the cgi added in around it and when Ethan and Grace are climbing through the train looks So Bad. it takes away from everything going on because you know its not real. I get it yeah yeah they can't dangle actors from wires while a train is slipping off a cliff but theres gotta be some way to make it look better. like I said about the bike stunt there was no tension there to me and I felt so disconnected from the movie and the characters, I like putting myself in situations and its hard when im like hm thats not real.

the fiat car chase. this was when I was like "fuck, I hate this movie", im sure we all know by now I am not a hayley atwell fan, so what sue me im allowed to not like people. I didn't like this car chase because it was mostly her driving. BABE THIS IS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE IM HERE TO SEE TOM CRUISE DRIVE NOT HER!!! if she was good then whatever but shes not for the bit. I feel like a lot of things that could've been really cool were pushed aside in favour of humour in this movie and I hate it. you can have both!! they literally did it in rogue nation and you're allowed to have callbacks in this movie so you can have a car chase like the one in rogue nation again!!! just let tom drive so it looks cool or even let hayley drive I dont care I just want it to look cool and have the humour stay inside the car. doing bits like this made the movie feel more generic and like they were trying to appeal to, dare I say, mcu fans. i like mission impossible because they get the ratio of humour to action perfect every time, and they're always so good at timing it too but in this movie especially during this chase it did not work for me and I didn't even find it funny if im being honest.

obviously I also have to talk about ilsa and im gonna shit on mcqs writing so apologies. there are two ways to look at this, one shes dead and two shes not dead, both are bad writing IN MY OPINION. if she is dead that was an awful way to send off such a loved character, she was hardly in the movie. im all for more women in movies but she definitely could've replaced grace and I think it would've given her and ethan a much better dynamic. ilsa barely has any lines??? I wouldn't even call her a side character in this movie like my friend didn't even know her name thats how insignificant she was. the sword fight was cool as fuck, rebecca slayed, but she really should've won that fight? maybe if she was outnumbered id be like okay thats a little more likely but it just feels really out of character for me. now if she DIDNT die then im also pissed because fake killing a character twice in the same movie is a little much for me, if it happened at the start of the movie and the end of the movie then okay I can deal with it but she died twice in like the first part of the movie? im sorry to say it but im sure most casual viewers forgot about her by the end of the movie and if they go back for part two and she comes back it's not gonna mean a whole lot to them. and ethans reaction to her death didn't sit right with me, this guy was a theatre kid he can at least somewhat act sad when the girl he loves fake dies and he should be allowed to, for like 5 minutes at least, I know theres a lot of stuff going on but he loved her!! let him cry a little!! and if we're supposed to believe shes dead then ethan not reacting is not helping.

one last thing I wanna add and I know im probably the only one who feels this because I know most people liked the movie, but when you make a part one and part two that release at different times you want people to like part one. it needs to be able to stand well on its own so people want to watch part two and are excited for it. am I gonna watch part two? probably yeah I wanna see that plane stunt but im not excited for it and I really feel like im just gonna be let down in the same ways again. I dont want to go see a movie for the stunts when I know I hated the stunts in the first part and I didn't come out of it caring about the plot or the characters (other than benji <3) so what am I going for? i have no reason to see that movie or be excited for it

I would also like to add I know this is not the movie tom and mcq wanted to put out since the original cut was like what 4 hours? and the movie was extremely over budget because of covid but I can still be mad about the finished product
