In the early glow of the morning, Soobin, now inhabiting his soulmate’s body, sat nervously in the passenger seat of the car he’d just gotten picked up in. Taehyun and Hueningkai, as he’d come to recently learn, were exchanging awkward glances in the rearview mirror as Soobin’s own songs played through the car’s speakers.

“So, uh, hope you’re okay with your own music on the playlist,” Hueningkai said from the passenger seat, “It’s just what we usually play.”

Soobin couldn’t help but feel fond of them, they were his fans after all.

“It’s cool, I actually really love this one,” he answered, his own unfamiliar voice startling him.

“We thought it might help with adjusting,” Taehyun added, a faint hue of pink on his cheeks.

Soobin could only nod in response, picking at the fabric of his pants. Nothing in his soulmate’s closet adhered to his taste, and most of it just consisted of poorly designed graphic tees.

The car descended into an uneasy quietness, broken only by the familiar melodies spilling out of the speakers that seemed oddly intimate with Soobin now present.

“You guys seem a bit shy, anything on your mind?” Soobin tentatively asked in an attempt to break the tension with the two people he would be spending the rest of the day with.

“It’s just that having our idol in the car, even if it’s in our friend’s body, is kinda surreal,” Hueningkai smiled, stumbling over his words.

"We’re not used to this level of…fame?” Taehyun replied.

“I get it, I’m not used to being on this side of things either,” Soobin replied, trying to relate.

As they approached their apartment, Soobin couldn't help but feel a strange connection with his soulmate’s friends. As Taehyun parked the car they all hesitated before stepping out, still unsure of themselves in each other’s presence.

“This is so weird,” Hueningkai marvels.

Soobin can’t help but laugh, “Tell me about it.”

As they entered the apartment the trio settled into the living room rather awkwardly. Soobin couldn’t help but take notice of the memorabilia of himself surrounding them, he’d never expected to see how one of his fan’s lives up close.

Even though he was navigating an unfamiliar shyness he found comfort in the tentative smiles of his soulmate’s friends.

In one of their cramped bedrooms, Soobin, now uncomfortably squeezed into your body, stared blankly at the physics textbook.

“Okay, let's go through this again,” Taehyun sighed, “The laws of thermodynamics is the transfer of—"

“You lost me at thermo,” Soobin muttered, flipping through the flashcards laid out in front of him halfheartedly.

“This is hopeless, how is he supposed to pass the exams?” Taehyun mumbled to Hueningkai.

“Maybe if we play his songs backward, he'll absorb physics knowledge by osmosis,” Hueningkai sadly jokes, half serious.

“Backwards songs?” Soobin asks as he looks up, “That’s a thing?”

“We’re getting off track, let’s try this one more time,” Taehyun sighs, directing Soobin’s attention towards his notebook.

They spent the few hours they had before the exams attempting to explain concepts, drawing diagrams, and resorting to desperate analogies involving concert stages and sound waves. However, Soobin struggled to grasp the complexities of physics and mathematics. He was fucked.

“I’m sorry, this is all like a foreign language to me,” Soobin says, feeling bad with how hard they were trying.

Truth is he gave up hours ago when Hueningkai started singing formulas to him in an attempt to get him to memorize them. As the minutes dragged on, Soobin’s lack of concern became more apparent.

He just didn’t care enough.

Tim Drake is so short it’s unrealistic: an explanation

In every single comic page featuring more than one adult, Tim is drawn exceptionally short (well Damian too but he’s still a pubescent boy) for mainly composition reasons, I think. You can’t really create a great standing composition with five heads at the same level so they exaggerate the difference. What does this leaves us with? A Tim in his late teens, at a whopping 5 foot and 6 inches of height (source: fandom wiki). This means he must be a certified short guy. Except, he kinda isn’t?

When he is shown with his peers he’s closer to the average height, like in YJ. So why do I think his stats are like this in fandom wiki or he’s drawn like that? I think editors and artists have never seen a teenage boy in their life and they think the younger the age the shorter the person is, linearly. My point is also supported by the fact that he doesn’t have adult proportions of a short person but an average person’s proportions, just shrunk down.

We are the same height for reference. The beginning of high school is the time for men to have their growth sprout and they all end up as their forever height by junior/senior. I’d argue that I’m not simply short-phobic and that artists seem to just ignore this phenomenon. Oh and his weight seems unrealistic considering his height-weight ratio and muscle mass so the second picture is possible to happen. You don’t need to be Kon-el to effortlessly pick that boy up.

So how tall do I think he realistically be? Closer to 6 foot. Because I think we’re ignoring the second greatest factor.

Wealth! He was raised rich, he was well fed during his developmental ages. Even if he had short height genes, his entire lifestyle would make him proportionally taller. There is VISIBLE difference in average heights in wealthy versus poor neighborhoods. Students notice that private school kids tend to be taller. Students (in my country) get weirded out once they realize historical figures that lived in hard times were way shorter than them. Unless he was an extreme case of picky eating, I’d say let’s add at least a few inches. His recreational activities also consisted of rich people stuff. The training he got, the amount of time he spent inside (probably playing games on powerful PC’s, not doing manual labor, not having a neighborhood friend group to run around with and stuff) not burning calories all played a role in the body he ended up with at adulthood. Yeah, he kind of did vigilante stuff since the age of 9, but at the end of the night it was Wayne Manor that he returned to.

BONUS: I think all batkids would have a different height when accounted for environmental factors, I just drew the four Robins to demonstrate

Jason: the wealth point that I defended earlier would work the opposite way for him, so why did i draw him the tallest? ✨growth juices✨ in the Lazarus Pit. I’m also not completely erasing their canon heights and body builds, and dude’s a hunk.

Dick: gymnastics makes you shorter. I thought this was a coincidence but apparently it’s real, especially in women’s gymnastics it’s very noticeable. He was trained since a very young age and did not stop practicing after he left the circus for apparent reasons.

Damian, at 14-15: He would hit his growth sprout a few months maybe a year later than his peers. Why? He’s Arab and even though I did no research on this, I think my experience as a Middle Eastern would account for a decent observation. But when he hits it, he would get noticeably taller EACH WEEK. I only attributed him a numbered height so I could show that he was close in height to his brothers. (Not related to height, but at his age he would have a massive nose with a sharp nose bridge, as it grows first, I remember many of my classmates were very self conscious about their noses in middle school)

hi!!! I saw your valentines letter event and wanted to request a little idea I had when I saw it! A prohero!katsuki and civilian fem!reader who are in an established relationship of a few years, maybe even married if it fits the plot better. He calls her “star” and is sending the letter from a foreign country while on a mission— maybe she gets it as a delivery with flowers.

The writing would consist of him admiring her little traits that she thinks go unnoticed, like a habit of her drawing little figures on notes she packs in his lunch. He’d be apologizing for not being there in person and wanting to make it up to her, he leaves a note to her at the end telling her to call him at a certain time, with a tiny drawing of his own.

Bakugou's Love Letter To His Fiancée

It wasn’t easy being the fiancée of a pro hero. And moments like these were especially hard. Your soon to be husband and lover of several years was currently out of the country on an important mission.

It was torture trying to sleep at night wondering if he was okay or not. Contact was sparse since you didn’t want to accidentally interrupt him at an important time, so most of your conversations were made when he called you first.

Today was different though, it was Valentine’s Day. Walking through the streets and seeing all the couples walking hand in hand, all the ads on being in love, and countless vendors selling flowers and chocolates for people to buy and give to their significant other–it made you feel especially lonely.

Of course, Bakugou was never into these “idiotic” holiday traditions that he called a scam to get money from people, but every year he always gave in and treated you to dinner, taking the day to spend it with you, his love.

You sigh, walking past another couple walking with interlocked hands as the woman carries a huge bouquet of flowers in her arms. Right now you just wanted to be in Bakugou’s arms where he could hold you and whisper tender words in your ears in the privacy of your home–you missed him.

It was already the evening when you finally arrived back at your home for the day from work, trudging yourself up the stairs, but a package caught your eye. It was addressed to you, yet you couldn’t remember ordering anything for yourself.

You lift the box in your hands before looking at your surroundings like Bakuogu taught you, before opening the front door and entering your home. You lock the door before placing the box and your belongings on the kitchen counter, opening the box.

Inside is a beautiful bouquet of flowers along with a note that reads;

Happy Valentine’s Day, star. Can’t believe I’m doing this, but I walked past this flower shop during patrol in this country and these flowers reminded me of you. They kinda look like stars and coincidentally are called starflowers. Hopefully the shitty mail carriers listened to the fragile sticker on the box and they still look decent.

I’m sorry I can’t be there with you today, I’m sure you’re feeling lonely, hell…even I am and I don’t even like this stupid holiday or whatever. I miss your messages in my lunch along with those ridiculous drawings you add in. I miss waking up beside you and watching you rest peacefully before getting up for work, I miss having you in my arms. Dammit star, I miss you. I miss you like crazy, it’s taking everything in me not to just leave this mission to damn Deku and coming back home to you.

I want to make you my wife already, I want to be your husband, I want you. But I can't leave, not yet anyway. I’ll do what I can to get to you as soon as possible and I’ll make it up to you when I get back. We can go out and do whatever you want for the day, I’ll be all yours for the whole day with no interruptions, just say the word. 

But for now, I hope those flowers make you feel at least a little loved. I love you…call me when you get this. It doesn't matter what time it is, just call me. I’ll pick up. See you soon.

You wipe the few tears that fell from your face after reading his letter, laughing a little at the small drawing he did at the bottom of the letter. His attempt at trying to draw for you like you always did for him. Cute.  Who knew Bakugou could be so romantic? It was the first letter he had ever written you, and it was beautiful.

You quickly grab your phone and hit his contact name, giving him a call like he asked. After a few rings he picks up, sounding out of breath.

“Kats? Are you okay? Did I call at a bad time?”

“Nope, perfect timing actually, just finished working out. I guess the package arrived? Did you like it?”

“Of course I did,” I cry out, “I wasn’t expecting that at all. Thank you, it was a great surprise.”

He laughs on the other end, feeling proud of making his girl happy, going on and on about how you shouldn’t have expected anything less from him.

“Hmm and that drawing was cute as well,” you tease, and he starts grumbling on the other end of the line, muttering for you to hush.

As you spoke to him on the phone, you felt the loneliness slowly leave your body, it was nice to just talk to him like this even if you couldn’t be together. Hearing his voice was still comforting.

“Alright, I should probably head out, it’s nearing midnight now and I have the night patrol tonight, so I have to get going. You made sure to lock the door when you got in right?” He asks, the sound of him shuffling into his hero suit fills your ears.

“Of course I did. It’s locked and the alarm is on. Go be a hero,” you smile to yourself, “I love you. I’ll talk to you later”

“Good girl. I love you too, talk to you soon.”

And then the line went dead, your heart doing a little loop at his choice of words.

Though you couldn’t spend the day of love with your lover, you were glad that he thought of you and sent you something that made him think of you. It was definitely another Valentine’s Day you’d remember, but you couldn’t wait for him to finally return home so you could be in his arms again.

Idk what higher power convinced me from 11pm - 5am to just HAVE to draw Dream and Nightmare as horses from mlp (god dammit I’ve never even watched mlp) but HERE WE ARE

I put waaay to much time into these drawings not to color them so once I line them I’ll do that

Anyway I wasn’t sure how to incorporate Nightmare’s tentacles in this design, buuut here were a couple of things I wanted to do/design choices and why:

I wanted to make them both alicorns with Nightmare having webbed wings (with hints of feathers and trauma)

I decided Nightmare was going to have armor and a royal vibe/aesthetic (like the king he is)

He also has horseshoes with pointed tips and ankle armor and neck armor cause yes.

I wanted to give him even more armor but I thought it would be too much

The cutie marks are their respective apples, but I wanted Nightmare to have, well, a Nightmare Moon thing going on where there was discoloration around the mark (excess of slime in this case)

I did want to incorporate sun and moon elements into the curie marks as well, but I figured I could do it in clothing instead to not overcrowd the cutie mark design and have it lose its meaning.

The slime around Nightmare’s cutie mark is constantly flowing and dripping off of him and if you looked closely his apple may appear purple instead of black through the drips

Ok while I’ve never really watched mlp I don’t live under a rock and I’m aware of how similar Luna and Celestia are to Nightmare and Dream, plus I looked up different designs and species and if you couldn’t tell Nightmare’s HEAVILY Nightmare Moon coded (she also slays btw I love her).

As for ideas about Nightmare’s tentacles I figured maybe he could have a sort of shadow magic maybe??? That acted like his tentacles in a way? Idk I’m workshopping it.

Or he could pull a Rapunzel and have his mane and tail act as his tentacles (which is kinda why his hair looks like that, as I wanted it to look slimy and thick, and for the “tentacles” a bunch of the chords would wrap together to create the tentacle like shape).

Idk mannnn I’m trying but horses and tentacles just don’t really go together juuuust sayin

I actually wasn’t gonna give Dream his cape/shawl thing cause I forgot he had it but I looked at Dream’s ref again and thought it was fitting enough.

Dream’s circlet got turned into a helmet cause I thought it would match Nightmare’s vibe a little more and I wanted to do more than just put it on his head ya know?

I’ve also been seeing designs with Dream having his hair braided and I thought it was fitting so while u can’t really see it, Dreams mane consists of a bunch of thick braids and the nape of his neck he just cut his hair cause otherwise his braids would get tangled in his wings so he said be gone lol. (Nightmare’s tail is also partially braided and I like to think he also braids his mane too into one large braid I just didn’t draw it that way :().

Ok so.. I do want to help but I'm not sure how much specific advice I can offer bc I don't really have like a consistent Process? Been debating how to answer this because I don't really know how I draw him I kinda just do my best until something works

Gabriel in my brain while I'm drawing him is like 90% just A Guy. And I can't really give much advice on how to draw A Guy apart from use references (I like Adorkastock quite a bit; figure drawing sites like Quickposes and Line Of Action help a lot with practicing proportions/anatomy and getting more fluid and dynamic poses; and there's an app called MagicPoser I use on my iPad if I want to do something like more dramatic perspective and want to make sure I have everything in roughly the right place; etc)

...And for the remaining 10% that isn't just A Guy (helmet, breastplate, wings)- I'm ngl the answer is still 'when in doubt, use references' though with the caveat that 'if drawing him slightly inaccurately looks cooler then do that'. I've drawn him enough that I can usually get him down from memory at this point, but staring at his stupid little model for a few hours is the only way to get there. I don't know shit about fuck about how to get 3d models out of the game, but if you spawn Gabe in sandbox and turn on 'enemies ignore player' you can get a screenshot of him from whatever angle you need. Ngl the body pillow is the most detailed reference for his armor we have, so like half the drawings I've done of him I've probably also had that open off to the side lol. For his wings I generally use the same shapes I do for bird wings, and when I'm not feeling lazy I sneak a peek at photos of real plate armor

the only drawing of gabe i’ve got the process recorded for is an unfinished sketch, i’m not sure how helpful that’ll be but I guess it can’t hurt

- im ngl ive been big into aki being a glasses wearer lately … like he seriously needs them but never wears them. just stubborn and blind as hell

- this is a popular one but i feel like i haven’t said it in a while: minato & kotone being twins. they obviously look nothing alike canonically but i try to give them very similar features when i draw them (like their nose and mouth) as well as a little beauty mark by their lip

- i love aigis wearing kotone’s clothes. i usually draw this represented by aigis wearing pink to imply its not her own clothes (cuz we all know she normally loves a blue outfit) but i think it’s super cute to imagine. oh & in general i like to give aigis a lot of baggy casual clothes instead of her usual dresses and whatnot. i just like to picture all of sees fashion senses rubbing off on her in different ways

- yukari is scared of ghosts but not horror movies, while junpei doesn’t believe in ghosts but horror movies scare him. im not sure at all if horror is ever brought up honestly i can’t remember but i always thought it would be funny that yukari is so jumpy about ghosts but she’s unimpressed with horror movies, while junpei teases her about ghosts but then a horror movie will have him up scared for a week. trust, he stays denying it scared him

for my lgbt hcs i kinda fluctuate but its fine:

minato/kotone: bisexual … basically canon for kotone, but i see it for minato as well. i’m pretty open to any kotone gender hc, i personally never thought about it for her. minato tho i think i mainly enjoy nonbinary or transfem minato 😭 but it still is the same that im pretty open to any gender hcs for him as well

yukari: lesbian. immediate answer. i’ve brought this up before feels like forever ago but i am a transmasc yukari enjoyer. it sucks because when i thought about it the first time i remember i had a really big explanation for it that had me hype as hell but now i can’t remember and i just passively enjoy it LOL

junpei: he’s all over the place. i think the cishet ally junpei is really funny just bc it makes me laugh when the whole lgbt friend group just has the one straight guy BUT i also enjoy junmina in every sense so i think i dabble in a little bisexual junpei sometimes …

fuuka: she kinda just gives me unlabeled vibes in sexuality. i had an initial sexuality hc for her but junfuuka started growing on me so i changed it in my head … but i really really love trans girl fuuka i think it’s one of my fav hcs for her <3

akihiko: i feel like i view him gay but i also refer to him as bisexual when i think it’s funny LMFAOOO one thing i keep consistent is that i think he’s trans. basically canon to me. i know the boobs and gorgeous face combo throw some people off but i never imagined he’d want to cut them off so i don’t depict that

- mitsuru with a nose piercing maybe … i honestly can’t imagine mitsuru would ever have many besides the regular ear ones but i can see her with like a stud… i feel like it’s one of those piercings a person would never realize she had unless they looked really close at her face. it’s on her emo bang side so it gets covered

- i can actually imagine junpei with some normal ass ear piercings. but that’s as far as he’d go bc i think the piercing gun/needle would make him cry a lil bit

- kotone seems like she’d do ears as well 😭 if im leaning into a Way more emo minato then i can actually see him with a few like ears/lips/etc. but regular him i don’t think he’d do any … im so sorry omg

- i draw/imagine shinji without any but ive seen people depict him with a tongue piercing before. i lowkey fw it. it’s hidden so i think he’d like something like that … otherwise i can’t imagine him with much

i’m sorry from the bottom of my heart for the lackluster piercing hcs bc i also enjoy piercings a lot visually but realistically i felt like sees wouldn’t really do much 😭😭 they’re too boring !!!

Not redesigning this character but I’m reworking his backstory which makes drawing some tasteful art of his youth necessary 🌝

Tristan is the very first angel I remember ever introducing to my world and the fact years later he’s still a prominent character makes him special to me and he deserves some work <3

He has been changed from a “hunter”, back to a “Guardian” like his first introduction(ik non of u know this stuff but I’m talking to myself ok) which r one of few exclusive born angel roles and treated somewhat like celebrities hence why I’ve made him a bit of an ex-model.

This is an example of his current look, he is currently a demon which he chose willingly to be with his current wife

A little about him:

-so I’ve explained he is a Guardian Angel ,which can only be born angels, but essentially they get assigned to guard a mortal from evil like demons and other spirits that heaven deems untrustworthy, which is actually how he met his current wife! He was assigned a mortal that the demon Laurentius(a powerful demon, the first son of Lilith) was hovering around but he didn’t see anything wrong with their relationship so he kinda just left and pretended he was trying to ward off Lars(Laurentius) but he met Lars’ daughter, Delta, and decided to hover around her instead and they became good friends before becoming an item

-wacky demon and angel mischief of those two before they become a couple and years later Tristan has Lars cut his wings out to become a demon, since angel souls r in their wings and need to be entirely carved out to remove their soul and turn them into a demon contract(like a 50/50 chance of this working), and woo that works and they have their first son and then get married. They have like…. 6 kids now over a 20 or so year period and will likely have more bc they love being parents and they love their kids.

-Delta and Tristan have been the most consistent, drama free couple of the characters and Delta is the damn puppet master and has helped blossom most of the pairings in our world lol, seriously tho I adore these two bc they just love each other and their kids so much.

-Tristan has an ex-wife but this was like 500 years before current events and since becoming a demon he doesn’t remember much anymore unless asked about it, they lived on earth to get some peace from heaven but she fell victim to angel harvesters(humans r aware of angels and demons but it’s kept secret by the magic world and human billionaires and stuff bc they harvest angel organs for, basically, immortality and the magic world can use demon bits for more powerful magic which is illegal) and so yeah she died pretty horrifically which left him scarred for a very long time until he picks up Guardian work again and meets his current wife.

Love that I said little and then infodumped woops XD it’s like right before work so I can’t think anymore but this is the basics of him I hope any of u enjoy my blurb.

On the subject of Webtoons, I don’t really read much, I wasn’t really a comic or webtoon person, until I came across The Glass Scientists. After that, I started looking more to see if I could find anything that peaked my interest, and “After Dark” is definitely a comic I’m looking forward to. I’ve mentioned After Dark mainly…once I think? But I’ll talk about it just a smidge more, since it is something I’m very passionate about.

After Dark is a horror comic, (because I do like horror here and there) surrounding a character named Drew, who after having a past “incident” with his girlfriend, has to pay the price by turning into a werewolf here and there, so yes, this is mainly surrounded on werewolves, if you like that sort of thing. However the comic I must say the comic dives into heavy themes and all, it looks REALLY pretty, though like I said, it’s horror, there’s blood, disgusting gorey moments, and it’s all mainly surrounded on Drew suffering. I went into this comic feeling bad for him, like….IMMENSELY bad since the opening chapters mostly consisted of this poor man having to deal with his condition, and then there’s the fact that he keeps having nightmare visions about his dead girlfriend due to the guilt of what went down. What caught my eye about this entire thing however is that we learn that Drew wasn’t the best boyfriend in the past, in fact the creator has said multiple times that he wasn’t a good person, hence why he’s suffering this werewolf thing. The creator has also said that the comic is about how Drew needs to realize he wasn’t a good person, and will need to face the consequences of his actions. If you saw that SpongeBob meme I made that absolutely BLEW up on this site like holy hell, you’ll know that I love stories that surround a main character you can kinda root for, but at the same time, acknowledge that they’re in the wrong and see the messy journey of them coming to grips with it all, where the story can rightfully call out it’s main character. This story is no exception, I’m definitely on board for the ride.

Now what basically happened with this comic is that it started out with a few pages, (all still available on Webtoon btw) until the creator came out and said that not only is it moving to Webtoon ORIGINALS which basically means they’ll be getting paid and all, but that they’re completely restarting and rewriting/drawing some of the story. The actual comic is hoped to come out around the summertime, if not than a little later this year, and I can’t wait. I think the creator is a very talented artist, and I can’t wait to see what happens next and what they come up with for the story!

First things first, let’s sort out the current situation. 

Leo: Wahaha☆ Good, good, Morisa~! Go for it! The best hero in the world! 

Chiaki: …Tsukinaga.  Sorry, but can you be quiet for a sec. 

Leo: You’re mad!? Why, Morisa~! Mama taught me this is how you’re supposed to support heroes! 

Chiaki: Are you talking about Mikejima? It’s rare for people to actually call him that! Speaking of which, you two are friends, right? 

Leo: Yup close friends! Friends forever! A friend of Mama’s is a friend of Mine, an enemy of Mama’s is an enemy of mine! 

In other words, you’re the hero Mama respects, which makes you a friend of mine, Morisa~! 

Chiaki: It’s not Morisa, it's Morisawa… But that really makes me happy. 

Although, I’m not sure what Mikejima said about me, but I’m not that important yet, I’m still inexperienced in the midst of my career. 

In fact, even in this case— If Mikejima were here instead of me, the case would already be solved. 

That guy's ability to solve problems is like no other.

Kurou: Haha. This is the first time I’ve seen Mikejima being praised so much. 

Leo: Why? Everyone needs to praise Mama more! He’s my Mama! 

Shu: You shouldn’t call out ‘Mama’ repeatedly in front of Kiryu. 

In any case, what time do you call this? If you’re going to keep talking about things that don’t concern me, I’ll leave. 

You won’t be surprised to know I’m a busy man. 

Chiaki: …I wanted to come off topic and postpone the problem as much as possible. 

But, that’s not at all like Mikejima’s respected hero. Yup, yup♪

I’ll summarise it. About a month ago, strange things started popping up in the atelier Itsuki is lending, right? 

Shu: Right. To be exact, that’s when I noticed something strange. 

During that time, suspicious objects started showing up regularly in my atelier. 

Leo: Suspicious objects? Like these! The ones lined up here! Wahaha☆

Shu: Don’t show them off! My eyes will rot…! 

Leo: Hmm, these kinda have the feel of a pervy drawing or sculpture. Shu really didn’t make these? I get the impression he did! 

Shu: You of all people should know that’s not to my taste. 

Leo: Eh~? I thought you’d be the kind to appreciate all ‘art!’ No matter the type! 

Look, doesn’t it have a likeness to that eroguro stuff Michael draws? 

Shu: Michael…? Ah, Kagehira? Don’t call him such strange names. 

Leo: Wahaha! He’s Michael! You’re Raphael! The artists…☆

Kurou: Don’t chatter just for the sake of it. 

…Don’t take it the wrong way when I ask this but, did you really not make this erotic stuff, Itsuki? 

Shu: Non! Shut up! Do I look like I’m lying to you, Kiryu? 

Kurou: Okay, I believe you. That means the culprit is someone that’s sneaking in regularly and leaving erotic stuff in this atelier. 

Chiaki: Why would someone do something like that…? I wonder if they’re doing it on purpose to harass Itsuki, knowing he’s not good with this stuff? 

Kurou: Isn’t it a bit too elaborate to be harassment? If you want to hurt Itsuki, it’s easier to just destroy all the art in his atelier, right? 

Shu: Right. When you look at them, all these drawings were done by hand from scratch. And, they all have consistency in style. 

Chiaki: Is that right? I thought it seemed chaotic or random, like there’s no connection…? 

Kurou: I sort of understand, the artist’s own personality always comes out in their work. 

I can’t really explain it well, though. 

Leo: Don’t be so modest, Kurou! You’re a praiseworthy artist too! A naked general! 

Kurou: Not all generals are naked. 

Shu: Fufu. In other words, these were all carefully created by the same person. 

What kind of sentiment would use such labour for mere harassment? 

Chiaki: Then, why on earth would someone do something like this? By the way, have you spoken to the police? 

Shu: Isn’t it obvious? You like to act righteous and solve cases yourself, but isn’t it common sense to leave such matters to professionals? 

However, even though I reported it, it wasn’t resolved. A police officer leisurely waltzed in, looked at the works and said.

“These are great! Eh, they’re showing up out of nowhere? I’m jealous!” 

Chiaki: Ah… I see, they didn’t look at the case. To be honest, it’s not like anything has been broken. 

Shu: Even though there has been trespassing. It was determined that there was no incident, rather, he just treated me as a “lucky young man”. 

It seems the police officers that turned up believed that all men would be happy to receive such vulgar things. 

Even when I told them I found it a nuisance, they refused to listen. 

Leo: Ah~ I kinda get it~ Recently I’ve had the same feeling about the people assigning me work. They love sex talk, and keep talking about it when no one has asked. 

I don’t know why, but I get the feeling they have the impression it’ll make me happy. 

Chiaki: I get that… I feel like there’s a surprising amount of people who will think it’ll make a hot story and be popular. That’s not something you make a minor talk about. Outrageous. 

Kurou: Haha. Or rather, because we’re idols we feel the need to avoid that sort of stuff. 

In the public eye, stories like that are seen as ‘interesting’. So it’s probably us who are insane.

Oh wow is that so, thanks so much for the clarification! I’m surprised though because I’ve seen a Japanese fanartist draw art monthly based on what they said was the latest chapter so I’m confused now about what they were referring to then. It’s definitely about Win though, like apparently the May issue has him poisoned, they take his shirt off to heal him and he seems to have a nightmare, does this ring any bells by chance?

Ohhhh okay I think I get what’s confusing, lol. Long story short:

Duel Masters Lost is a spinoff web manga featuring Win in high school.

Now the very longer explanation, if you want, just to clear up some of the stuff you might’ve seen. I assume you haven’t read any of the mainline, and I’m very happy to infodump ✨

So you’ve read Lost, yeah? Well this is the life that Win lost*.

* (presumably—assuming it’s the same universe. We don’t know 100% yet)

The gist of the mainline is that Win’s a “it’s always good to look on the bright side of things and be happy with what you have” kinda kid, yeah? Well Jashin has rolled up to try and make him the king of darkness.

This is how they meet! Yaaaaaaay 🎉

One day Jashin manifests in his deck like “I am the wicked god who appears every thousands years and you just summoned me, so let’s destroy the world, kill all humans, I want blood, I want flesh, etc etc.” and Win’s like “🫤….Anyway this is a cool card.” because he’s happy with his life with his dad and friends and isn’t interested in power.

So things happen and such, but it’s a pretty reoccurring point that Jashin keeps trying to goad Win into being fucked up and evil, taking revenge on those who wrong him, and becoming the king of darkness. And Win consistently rejects that, even though he does show signs of slowly degrading as the world keeps trying him. He accidentally almost kills a guy like once. And later gets into a fistfight with said guy. But they make up eventually lmao👍

But later—more relevant to what you saw—a woman called Nonno shows up and messes with Win’s friends, and this actually really gets to him. Win gets so pissed at her he starts overflowing with dark power. Jashin is very happy about this, of course.

But just as Win snaps and Jashin goes to kill her, the rest of the members of Nonno’s group show up. The leader easily defeats and dismembers Jashin and takes him away, causing all of Win’s dark energy to dissipate and him to pass out. (Rip bozo)

He then got taken to the hospital, prolly what you’ve seen. Nothing’s necessarily wrong with him, but the dark power’s being all haywire. Basically when he wakes up he can’t control the power, and starts accidentally disintegrating living things.

He’s gotten the power of the king of darkness. Y’know, the powers to destroy the world 👍

Now that’s, yannow, bad, and he’s a threat to his friends if he outbursts, so the headmaster locked him away in a cube at the bottom of the ocean I guess to test how strong his heart is and 😭 he’s just gonna suffocate if he doesn’t get out. We didn’t see him this month’s chapter at all cuz he’s just been stuck in that fucking cube offscreen 😭😭😭

And that’s all caught up.

I left out and generalized a LOT—but that’s the gist.

The anime covers basically all the events leading up to Nonno and stuff, but there’s some changes and it’s a lot slower paced with a bit of a different tone and more random YouTuber collabs lmao. Like it shows Win’s friend getting messed with, but it doesn’t set him off the same way and they somehow wrote Nonna out of it. Also there’s no fistfight 😔

Some of the source materials are easier to find than others, like season 1 of the anime’s pretty easy.

Hi, I am contacting you because I saw you mentioned somewhere that you have adhd, and I was wondering how did you still reached such incredible level. I have adhd too, and drawing has always been my passion also. But despite a whole life of practice, and doodling almost all the time, I always had a very hard time to understand anatomy and other technics, and because of adhd, I can’t focus neither motivate myself consistently to learn technics. I am also very inconsistent to draw proper illustrations, and also struggle to get things finished. Because of this, I have the feeling that I will never improve, and I gave up my life dream to become an illustrator. So, I was wondering how did you reached such incredible level despite of adhd difficulties, and if you had some helpful tips. Best regards.

Hey dude! Yeah, I can totally give you some tips that worked for me up until I got medicated :D I know a LOT of folks have to deal with ADHD, so I’m more than happy to try and give you some advice. 

I will preface that I tend to hyperfixate on things like drawing, so I put 200% effort into learning about it and I enjoy trying new methods of painting/drawing/whatever else. It’s still moreso reliant on the individual artist, but the below list is what I do and have done that kept me going:

Make studying into something that is interesting. By that I mean you don’t have to simply draw/study a pose for life drawing, you can make it interesting by drawing a character in that pose/doing that action so that it becomes something you’re more invested in instead of something you’re doing to just get better. I usually draw my OCs in the poses that I’m studying from pinterest or whatever, and it makes the process a lot more fun -

Do what YOU want, not what others say you should do. Not every style or process is for everyone. Stick with what interests you and it’ll make your ADHD brain happier. Getting trapped into the idea of “Oh, I should be good at line art” or “Oh, I should be really good at drawing in X style” when you’re not really interested in either of those things will bore you to no end. Personally, I settled with the fact that I don’t have patience for line art, I loathe using opaque brushes, and I despise having a million layers on my paintings. SO, I don’t do a line art pass; I just clean up my sketch layer which becomes my line art, I don’t use opaque brushes, and I keep my layers really limited. My way of drawing and painting is kinda unorthodox and I always have to explain it to clients when I send WIPs (I’m srs the way I work confuses ppl, especially non-artists lol), but the end result is always what they hired me for, so there are no complaints. Plus, I am MUCH comfier drawing and painting in my own “unique” way, and they’re cool with that. **NOTE: I still recommend checking out tutorials and such, but don’t feel like the artist who created the tutorial is god and that you must follow their teachings to a T. Ex. I love the artist kawanocy, and I have some Patreon stuff from him. His art process is too slow and clinical for me personally, but I still take bits and pieces from his teachings to incorporate them into my own workflow/my own art hacks. -

Only study when you want to. Naturally this doesn’t apply to you being in school for art (sometimes u gotta cry and just study away for an assignment), but if you’re not in the mood for drawing/studying, just don’t do it. It’s fine to take some time off!! I’ve had periods of months w/o drawing, especially during summer when I was in Uni. Sometimes you need to wait for inspiration to find u again -

Study from artists you admire and it won’t feel like studying.  FIRSTLY do not steal from artists you admire, just study their work. It is fine to trace AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT POST IT AND/OR CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN WORK. DO NOT DO THAT. I REPEAT, DO NOT CLAIM TRACED WORK AS YOUR OWN WORK. IT IS NOT YOUR OWN WORK. IF YOU POST TRACED WORK, YOU ARE STEALING ARTWORK AND BEING DISGRACEFUL AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THE ARTIST. Tracing is fine for STUDYING ONLY because your hand follows the path of the original artist’s hand and you get a literal feel for how they work and where their pen goes. I don’t rlly do this anymore, but I used to, esp when I wanted to do some low-brainpower studying.  The main point of #4 tho is to not be shy abt taking bits of ppl’s style and using it for yourself. Ex: I really really REALLY admire the art of  @/xafeelgood on instagram. I am particularly in love with the way they draw bodies and faces. @/chenbearpig on insta has an amazing style too, and I love love LOVE the way he paints. @/kawanocy has a very beautiful rendering style, and his lighting is v dramatic and impactful.  Obvi there are more ppl I admire than just those 3, but those were a lot of my inspirations with art when I was in uni, and they helped shape my style and made me excited to keep pursuing art and trying their styles/painting methods. You have to find artists who make you excited to keep going, and just study their art a bit, or watch a speedpaint to see how they make such glorious art. It is really fun and I always enjoy trying to breakdown how they do their art stuffs so that I can try and do smth similar!! -

Don’t give a fuck about how fast other people draw, how good other people are compared to you, or your follower count. The most helpful thing I told myself this year that has sent my career and drawing/painting ability into the next level is, “I don’t care.” So what if other people are better than me? So what if I’m not the greatest artist ever? I’m still good. I’m still getting paid. I’m loving art again. I’m still trying hard. I’m just not getting that worked up abt art anymore. It’s HARD to not give a fuck, I know that, but it’s only art. It’s really not that serious. It’s not life or death. You’re just here to have a good time and work towards getting better at illustration/drawing/whatever, yeah? It’s so cheesy, but we all have our own paths to take to get to where we want to go. I have died inside realizing that people who are like 16 are 100x better than me already. I used to feel like shit and like my progress didn’t mean anything compared to how amazing other people are, but now? I just don’t care. I’m doing my own thing and I’m vibing and enjoying my drawing time, and that is all I can hope for!!

That is all I can think of right now u3u I guess a final note to leave off on is that all of these tips probably won’t 100% work for you, and that’s totally cool. Again, it’s highly dependent on the individual, but I still hope some of these thoughts and suggestions can help you find ways to make drawing fun and interesting for you.

another vent bc the universe is testing me lately (cw disordered eating and just general negativity bc i’m going through it)

i am so anxious!!! i’ve been taking my meds!!! but my third year starts this month and idk wtf i’m doing w my life!!

why am i studying art i don’t even have a consistent art style; but i don’t have ANYTHING else i could possible do

my gender is going bonkers and i wanna kinda transition but i just want to be more androgynous but idk how i could do that and i’m not even out to my parents and idk if i ever will be bc my dad is Not an ally to trans ppl but i love him so much and he loves me so much but idk if he’d still love me the same if i came out to him

there’s drama in my friend group and two of my close friends aren’t friends anymore and it’s been a while coming but it still sucks and idk what to do bc i love them both sm but i am so on one side bc the other is so in the wrong but idk how to tell her without her getting mad

i still haven’t made an appt to see the surgeon ab my cyst and im so anxious ab it bc i hate medical things and it’s been making my arm sore (which happens when i think ab needles usually but it hasn’t happened in a while and i hate the sensation so much it’s so fucking scary)

my psychiatrist hasn’t responded to me email bc a prescription bc i’m almost out of one of the pills i take and im stressed

i think i’ve gained weight and i’m trying so hard to not be upset and to be neutral ab my body and how i look but my new apartment has a full size mirror and i can’t help but analyze myself in it; i changed my outfit three times today bc i hated how i looked in two different pairs of pants (one of them i wear fairly often and now i never want to wear them again even though they’re so comfy i hated how they looked today)

i’m trying to eat consistently but all of the above with my anxiety is fucking up my appetite and i do not want to go through all of this again i was doing so well this summer

i’ve been so spacey and i do not feel real lately but everything just feels so heavy and i am so fucking tired

and usually when i feel particularly Heavy i just watch community or buzzfeed unsolved or a documentary or something while i write or draw so i’m preoccupied and thinking ab too many things to think ab what’s upsetting me but laptop kicked it (getting a new one this weekend 🎊) and my tv is frozen and won’t even turn off (it faces my bed and is quite bright i might have to cover it w a blanket; which makes me anxious bc it feels like a fire risk) (also i’m gonna have to go to reception tomorrow and tell them and i don’t want to be my social anxiety has been going ham lately and i’m just UGH)

anyway i am very tired and i cannot wait to go home this weekend and see my parents and my dog (i have a dentist appt and i’m trying not to think about it) and i just want to go to sleep
