So you know how things got started because of Atsushi's whole tiger bounty thing? It just occurred to me that *technically*, that plotline hasn't yet been resolved.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I still don't think we've seen the real reason why the Order, Rats (and DoA), and Clock Tower were willing to not only band together to capture our weretiger but also pay a ridiculous amount to do so. Sure there were some explanations here and there but we don't know WHY yet.

And considering we have gone from Guild, Rats, and DoA...I think the next big bad is either the Clock Tower or some side organization with strong connections to the Order of the Clock Tower. And MAYBE right then we'll get to understand why Atsushi is so badly wanted on an international scale.

Winter Schnee Redesign Idea for post-Volume 8 & Beyond! ❄️ 💚

She gets orange streaks in her hair a little bit, either very light orange (like Lilith’s almost grey streaks in TOH) or just bright Penny orange. Her eyes have a tint of green amidst the blue mixed in post-Penny like how Norman’s eyes are in the TPN manga colored art with a mixture of pink amidst the blue (alternatively heterochromia).

Additional notes: I think her picking up some of Penny’s speaking mannerisms would be sweet. Her saying something like “I think I’m combat ready” in response to asking if she’s ready to carry out a plan. When team RWBY gets to Vacuo, she points out something along the lines of how it’s good to see some friendly faces or good to see some friends. At some point she’ll sprinkle in a salutations and do a salute.

I'm building up a rapport with the newest trans coworker. He's been here for a month or two now and he's pretty cool. Definitely in his sadboy era (judging by the music he listens to, which is SO me at age 20 ish. So like mood). Quiet, but with a wry sense of humor that's been coming out more lately.

I am very definitely out as Not Straight & he has seen this pretty clearly. Also since I'm in management I saw his birth certificate as part of paperwork stuff, so like. He's never upfront told me, but I know he's trans. I've never breathed a word of it to anyone, even to him tbh, so I hope he reads that as a good indicator that I'm Chill

I was complaining yesterday about how heavy the ginger juice was and he was just like "..Gender juice?" As in he misheard me and was genuinely confused what I was talking about. And I was just like. "Oh yeah. Gender Juice. Ya kno." Idk just one of those stupid things that purely cis ppl wouldn't joke about. So I rly hope he's getting not cis vibes from me. I have been realizing lately - after everyone is giving Oscar Isaac so much acclaim (which yes he 100% deserves) for being able to switch between Steven and Marc so flawlessly - that apparently not everyone can change their micro expressions easily like that. That Dune story is truly fascinating for its gender roles i.e. how there are always powerful women (inherently so, as space fantasy does) who are never in power for no reason (that is to say, their relative powerlessness is a matter of course, both institutional and completely natural - there is no justification because in the author’s mind, none is necessary) and for its insistence upon genocide of billions and tyranny as ‘necessary’ but then never delivering a convincing argument for that necessity.

It’s a story about defeating an empire - and then usurping it and being an even worse emperor by about a million. Which is hilarious. But also I suppose, unintentionally an accurate portrayal of aristocrats.

Do you think secondary arcana were a vood concept? Personally (pun not intended) i thunk they're a missed out on opportunity for subtle storytelling, cause what link arcana the protag has with a character could be an entirely new facet/diffrent arcana to them since no person treats two people the same way, also Shinji and Aki's femc social links are their secondary arcana dont @ me.

Yes actually I think the secondary arcana was a fantastic concept for pretty much the reasons you said. Everyone has different sides to their personality and we change how we act based on who we're around, intentionally or not (e.g. I act different around my parents to how I would around friends). So by characters having a second arcana (or even like the P2 system where characters have good affinity with multiple arcana) could be a really cool story/mechanic, and its not even that difficult to achieve. I kinda always assumed that Shinji and Aki's secondary arcana would be the Moon and Sun respectively based on their SLs. It's an interesting concept and I do wish they'd bring it back.

Strange how people keep saying that "Shuro hates in Laios the same traits he supposedly loves in Falin", which is...

Seriously, look at him and his dialogue - does he hate Laios for being a monster freak? For being nerdy and weird and loving nature? For eating bugs? No, that's not it.

Shuro hates* Laios for being so profoundly socially inept (from his perspective).

The key difference between Touden siblings isn't that Falin is a pretty girl - the key difference is that Falin is caring and accommodating to other people, and Laios is awkward and unobservant, seemingly egotistic at the surface level.

It has to be noted that Shuro is a sheltered noble from a land where proper etiquette is paramount - he is used to people being incredibly subtle AND incredibly observant around him. He comes from a high-context culture where everyone assumes things based on lots of social cues and shared understanding of context. That's not even a matter of being neurotypical, that's his culture (in addition to his personality and brain chemistry)

He is also rather introverted as person and doesn't have many friends. Even his attachments and emotions in childhood are expressed subtly, in a restrained and proper way. He is polite and refined, perfectly fitting into his house's expectations - even if that means repressing his childhood interests and little weird joys.

In that particular way, the opposite of Laios.

Shuro hates* Laios for being the opposite of the image HE was grown into. This strange man is so utterly insensitive and so open about it - he has no sense of shame (like Shuro), no tact and ability to shut up (like Shuro), no restraint (like Shuro). Look at him talking non-stop about things he wants to talk about and having fun (unlike Shuro) while completely overestepping Shuro's obvious boundaries!

The boundaries, I must say, that not only never before needed to be spelled out, but in Shuro's upbringing and culture would be as ridiculous to spell out as "I want to pee, so I'll go to the bathroom and remove my pants and sit on the toilet and release the sphincter holding my pee in my pee bladder"

Falin is not only awesome in his eyes for being weird and in touch with nature, but for being very delicate, observant and caring AT THE SAME TIME. She is a gem in Shuro's eyes, a miracle of his dreams.

In Falin, he not only sees a nerd-freak - he sees a hope for an introverted, polite, restrained person like himself to reconnect with that love for nature and nerdiness and freakiness.

Laios isn't like that. Laios is unobservant for subtle cues - and so a lot more loud, persistent, enthusiastic and unwittingly annoying. Yes, Falin has all that inside her too - but she restrains herself in order not to be a burden. And so does Shuro, in order to fit expectations. There's similarity between them in that regard, between two introverted and restrained weirdos. And a hope for a kindred, more open soul, from the more restrained Shuro's perspective.

* - I don't think Shuro's feelings to Laios are properly described as hate. Yeah, in his darkest moment he says that, but honestly it felt more like an accumulated stress from a continuous cultural and personal misunderstanding, rather than a profound personal hate.

What was the post about?.. Oh, yeah, Shuro loving Falin and disliking Laios. That's not him being too horny to think, that's him loving in Falin the defining difference between the two - they aren't gender-swapped clones, after all. Give my boy some respect and nuance.

everybody on the base is aware of one thing. first – to not mess with the skull masked lieutenant. second – to not mess with the skull masked lieutenant’s favorite. it's clear that simon has taken a liking to you, but he disguises it well enough for it to sweep under your radar.

just knowing eye stares. god. he's such a sucker for just staring at you, be it when you guys are training, when there's a meeting going on, in the barracks, when somebody says something stupid. he looks to you as a form of reassurance, giving you a slight nod most of the time. this is his way to communicate. he's thankful for his mask because he knows damn well he's blushing underneath when his eyes meet yours and you give him a big grin.

speaking of eye contact, if any time ghost says something sarcastic under his breath and you hear it despite being across the room, he will absolutely wink at you. it's disguised so so well omg. especially if you mention something that's a known joke between the two of you, god he’ll just lean back, give you a wink and continue listening to the briefing. (he also subtly checks you out by the way)

has a habit of just messing your hair. he knows it irritates you, but that's just his way of showing affection. the first time he reached out his gloved hand to mess your hair, price just grinned. he knew simon was smitten.

he lets you ramble on and on about things you like, dislike, philosophical debates, anything really, with him occasionally adding quips. soap is so shocked at simon’s change of attitude because when he talks for a minute, the lieutenant just asks him to shut up.

he secretly makes things easy for you. like you gotta carry big boxes to the warehouse? they’ll be done before you know it. a report is holding you up? it's already stapled and on your desk. “what else?” he asks. he's terribly intuitive as well, so he knows when something is bothering you.

has a habit of just standing behind you. that's his way of looking out for you. and if he senses any danger, you best believe he's gonna be on his A game. be it a sniper or be it some new private that made a suggestive remark, he’ll put them straight.

he's your biggest supporter except he's constipated in actually supporting. you did pretty well on a mission? most you’re getting out of him is “you did good, yeah?” but that's it.

he's also so so smug with his remarks. i’m talking constant shit eating grins, smirks, fucking irritating cocky behavior but he’s so hot with it. “you think you can take on me?” even with his mask on, u can just tell!! “oh yeah? c'mere and prove me wrong”

fucking simp enjoys training with you soooo much like especially the ‘first one to get pinned loses’ he puts you down so easily. but then he coaches you as well “c’mon you can fight better than this” as he points out other techniques to use. “atta girl” (i’m gonna kms). always the person to challenge you and push you to your limits because he's not taking a risk when it comes to your life.
