Superman and Lois s3 was amazing, but I just think they lost the opportunity to put Clark in the same position than Bruno.

The moral Dilemma of making Clark/Superman choose between save the world or the person he loves.

How far Clark would willing go to save Lois?

The parallel between the villain and the superhero would enrich the plot but they barely touched on this parallel and it was right there in front of us to be used and explored, otherwise why was the point of the plot of Lois with Cancer?

But the feeling I get is that it wasn’t used because we’re talking about Superman and he’s above theses morals questions, he can’t show himself to be anything but perfect, and I not saying he should have done the same choice as Bruno, doing the opposite that the villain in this dilemma would show why he is the hero.

I know there was a scene in which Clark & Lois tell the twins that they are not going to use any Kryptonian Technology, but think how interesting it would be for Clark to see Lois dying because the treatment wasn’t working and he hammering himself on whether to use Kryptonian Technologyor not. Like I said, a waste opportunity.

for the superfam, i feel like they would be able to know when ur sick cuz yk xray vision heat sensor eyes and all that. plus fortress of solitude would have the technology to heal human illnesses (like how in superman & lois, they technically had the tech to cure lois’s cancer but didnt cuz… morals or wtv😒)

Tbh I get Roy because how did Oliver not know that the Roy he found after 3 months was not the actual Roy? But I also understand y Oliver didn't realize because he was worried about Roy to the extent that he was just relieved and content when "Roy" showed up and didn't bother to think it's weird.

Ngl I feel like Oliver in Arrow CW would have known if the clone Roy was fake cause Oliver in the TV show is really serious compared to Oliver in the cartoons. But that doesn't mean I don't like both Oliver's. I actually love both of them cause they're both different.

Because the Robin in S2 looks younger then Zatanna and Zatanna and Robin were a thing in S1 and the only explanation is that Dick Grayson/Nightwing was Robin from S1 cause no way that new baby Robin is the same age as Zatanna now.

Like yeah, I know about the “toxicity” involved here. i know that Superman says he’s for Truth, but also keeps his identity a secret and thus LIES all the time. I know Lois can be sometimes too pushy, too flippant with her own life and put herself in precarious situations to “get the scoop” regardless of the very real concequences.

But Clark and Lois are very smart. And shrewd enough to understand the WHY. Clark doesn’t call out Lois’ manipulation because he knows she’s a TRUE reporter at heart and means well enough to understand boundaries. She knows real restraint where it counts. Lois is shrewd enough to understand WHY Superman lies. She’s a FUCKING REPORTER. Anonymity and Confidentiality ARE HER BREAD AND BUTTER. Most of her anger when it really is revealed is because he’s been doing it under her nose the entire time and it really hurt her ego because she knows she should’ve known better.

What I’m trying to say that all this drama? Welcome to the club newbie. Try not to take things too seriously. It’s fucking SUPERMAN AND LOIS LANE.

Yeeah, I'm now reading non-fiction about detective comics comics, too... but I'm only a few chapters in and it's such an interesting historical perspective (even if the section about corporal punishment made me see fucking red).

I'm also still following a couple of newsletters, like Letters from Watson (Sherlock Holmes long novels) or Divine Comedy (which ends this month), rereading Camilla Andrew's "We Will Devour the Night" via her ko-fi (ditto), and of course, slowly reading a bunch of actual comics (Batgirl 2000, Green Arrow 2001, Outsiders 2003, RHATO v2/rebirth!Jason, or War Games, among others).

Currently watching: Superman: The Animated Series/the DCAU in order, plus the stacked100 rewatch. And I took a detour and rewatched some key scenes from Nikita, as one does.

Currently consuming: I made tuna pastries for dinner today.

Fall Vibes 🍁🍃🍂

We are back momentarily from visiting the 28 known galaxies. A series inspired by Jor-El's monologue from the 1978 Superman movie. (Clip on IG/X). There’s so much going on there. Kal-El received knowledge on his voyage to Earth and then spends a chunk of time with holo-dad learning about tons of cosmic stuff in crystals. Crystals that we actually use in technology. They store data information so science fiction is closer to reality than we think.

Diana & Clark: Autumn

The autumn season is around the corner and this month I plan to explore Diana & Clark. You’ve never really seen them interact in any live action movie or TV show as that. Unless I missed it. 🤨

(And I’m not talking about animated movies like Throne of Atlantis or even disregarding the many fan-created art and videos out there.)

My primary angst is with DCEU keeping Diana and Clark separate at every turn. Even the cheesy CW crossover omitted her. Also watching the Jenkins WW movies, Diana Prince is seen with coworkers, soldiers, global citizens, and of course Steve Trevor. Her cameos in other films for the most part have Shazam pining after her and vice versa. There's also the dialogue with Bruce Wayne (and the Flash) in the Snyder films. Bruce flirts with her and casts his eye on her but Clark doesn’t notice at all or says anything to her. (I posted several retweets on X from others that made similar observations.) I know this is old news for many but a big part of the reason for this AI exploration.

So it’s an oddity for sure. Seeing them together in plainclothes, or their human identities together interacting with each other, talking, forming a friendship. Because with that in mind as I explored them in AI, I kept thinking ‘Oh man people might think this is Lois’. I made adjustments to show the difference between the two but heck DC has managed to make Lois very much like Diana. Recall how they mocked her in Smallville when Lane wore the WW costume and many other things.

A Paradigm Shift is Needed

So what is at the core of this problem? What is driving the repetitious Superman/Lane ship and pushing SuperWonder away? Bear with me as I will try to explain and will do so in a Part 2.
