So, once again, calling out to all the many many talented writers, artists, poets, directors, leaders, biographers, dreamers, lovers, or those who simply want to tell your story…come and show us what it means to be you.

I cannot fucking get over how the Pjo fandom depunkified(for lack of a better term)Percy.Keyword being 'how'-Because in canon,Percy is an actual punk.He grew up poor,getting bullied for being neurodivergent and with an abusive stepdad due to his birth dad abandoning him so that lead to him developing an attitude as a coping mechanism and hating rich people and other privilged groups because he knows from experience how awful they are most of the time but another thing it did to him was making him incredibly kind to minorities especially and a Team Parent to the ones younger than him(those being Nico and Hazel in his case).And i know for a fact that if Rick didn't hate Perachel almost as much as the fandom does,he would've written him as also going to protests and doing charity work with Rachel

But the fandom dosen't ONLY pretend that none of those are traits of his but also says he's punk for headcanons that are either not canon or straight up contradicted by it.He dosen't want to be a god and finds the thought actively distressing because he's scared of his powers and hates authority.The only reasons he treated Nico badly in Hoo and wasn't the Team Mom of the Seven instead of Hazel was that Rick retconned how much he loved him as a brother in the og series because he wanted to torment his first gay character and to adultify his first darkskin black fem mc.He's not a stereotypical guy,he thinks hypermasculinity is gross and weird(see his descriptions of and interactions with Ares)and has a deep respect for all the different women in the franchise,which includes gnc ones.He dosen't dress grunge,he barely got outfit descriptions in the books and when he did,they were just normal clothes.And he's not even a skater boy,him skating was mentioned exactly once in the entire saga and it was in Sea of Monsters,when he was 13 and that book came out over ten years ago,and Piper saying he looks like one dosen't count for jackshit because she also thought she was straight at the time and it showed in her ideas of gender as shown by the Jasiper vs Jeyna fiasco

How'd y'all take a canon punk protagonist and throw away the traits that make them punk to go 'No,actually,they're punk because of these things i THINK are what punk is because i've never read up on it's history and headcanon them to have!!!'.It's making me go fucking insane,my Percy stan ass who's been exactly like him since i was a kid should ask y'all for reperatitions over this(Also:When i say fake punk traits,i'm including being a Harry Potter/Marauder's Era fan and a Switfie,that's like the basics of Poser Punk)

Hooh okay! Fashion designers... my favs are mostly Indians and my head is messed up so I'm probably forgetting many people I should mention, but bear with me👉👈

Falguni and Shane Peacock, one of my og favourites, been following them since I was a kid. Anamika Khanna>>>>> Then, of course ASHI STUDIO by Mohammed Ashi often puts out such beautiful pieces, it's like... fairytale + enigma + elegance + sass which I LOVE to see! Special shoutout to Gaurav Gupta, now going places internationally, and Saisha Shinde, a desi trans designer who is oso talented and lovely.

Fashion trends... let's see, I'd say anything that primarily feels gay to me has my heart. Neon clothing, knee high boots, high waisted bell bottoms, checkered shit, pinafore dresses or not a fashion trend but septum rings and multiple finger rings or fruity little necklaces with colorful beads!!! Perfection. Also a huge fan of ruffles, faux fur/feather, sequins (only when done correctly, mostly people mess this up real bad) and leopard prints (controversial :))

My personal everyday style usually oscillates in tandem between 'bass player in a punk rock band' and 'toddler dressed by a mum who loves rainbow swirl lollipops.' There's no in between ever!

Lately I've been liking the y2k aesthetic though, so let's hope that goes well for me.

I was browsing through tv and came across an episode and got so nostalgic about how much I loved CID and also couldn't believe how I didn't realise that THESE BITCHES GAY

I saw your RRR posts (I haven't got to watching it yet but I want to, because of your posts) and I couldnt help myself I just had to know your opinions about daya x abhijeet

I took my sweet time for answering it.. and let me RANT now......

I guess I shipped Daya/Abhijeet even before i knew what 'shipping' was. See, this phrase called 'shipping' came very late to me.

Before that I knew I was reading Kurt/Blaine fanfics, Harry/Draco fics from fanfic.net, all I knew was that yeah... if you type " *character 1* and *character 2* fanfic.net" you get this amazing stories where these characters kiss and create a romance story.

And trust me when I say this, I remember there was this episode in CID where Abhijeet seems to have lost his memories, there was a bandage wrapped around his head... something like that but yeah Daya was this extra emotional towards him and I had gone absolutely feral.

I didn't know that there can be term called 'homoerotic undertones'.. I just knew THAT THESE TWO CHARACTERS CAN KISS!! and that was that but never found any Daya/Abhijeet fics sadly.

It was a slow yet process for to understand what 'shipping', 'ships', 'fandoms' meant. You know growing up in the 2010s when you didn't have regular access to phones, we all know smart phones was a big deal even 6-7 years back from now, growing up in India, we don't get to talk about such things with others, we just find out stuffs and rant about them online.

There was even a time when I had shipped random book characters as well. You see, I am a bengali, and you might know we have a quite famous fictional detective named 'Byomkesh' with his assistant 'Ajit'. umm for a reference Sushant Singh Rajput had done a film 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' and long long ago Rajit Kapoor also did a series on Byomkesh on DD national.

Hell I shipped Byomkesh and Ajit so much. I sometimes think on it and I feel so funny!

Even after watching RRR on theatres i had come straight to tumblr if anyone had picked on the blatant 'homoeroticism' and i had to dejectedly return back with just sharing some gifs from the trailer.

Then I found some articles how the west see RRR and its queerness and I knew this FANDOM WILL POP!! I came to see it had already popped off by mid April and still continuing.....

I believe there are many characters from our childhood, early teen years on TV, books, comics where we unconsciously saw THE GAY and shipped it, be it friendship or bromance.... And I bet we all have such 'not so successful shipping' experiences.

I am just happy that today I am grown up enough to see the gay and identify as such and come to social media to find a niche and rant about it, draw fanart or write stories! You realise I was 17 then when i opened tumblr and set up an AO3 account.... before that i was not apparently 'fearless enough' to open an account on AO3 and read the 'only for the users' fics.

It largely changed after Shubh Mangal Zyada Saabhdhan, for me, where i have come to find this large section of Desi audience to be in the 'lgbtq+ shipping community'. I think i phrased this wrong, not just shipping.. a community of desis being the lgbtq+ besties who find common interests between them! Because before this movie, I was mainly involved with non-Indian/ foreign fandoms and pairings.

BUT YEAH GO AND WATCH RRR NOW!!! YOU ARE MISSING BIG! not just the gay but also an amazing visually spectacular, well themed musical, action packed, well acted-directed movie!

Contrary to popular belief Blue isn’t his favourite colour. Blue has a special place in his heart but his favourite colour is Grey, originally it was because his elderly neighbour had a grey cat that he would play with when he was young and the neighbour would let him hang out at their place while Sally was out but then he met Annabeth and now it’s because he’s a simp and could spend hours staring at her eyes.

He was really close with said neighbour and when they died (During the summer before BotL) He was devastated and went to their funeral, He was actually in their will and he got to keep a few things of theirs(I’ll probably write a oneshot of this)

Has played Minecraft since it first came out and gets really excited whenever a new update comes out.

He got Annabeth into it because of the building and now they play together whenever they feel like de-stressing.

He’s a stress baker, Annabeth will come home and the kitchen is full of muffins and cookies.

I can't remember any off the top of my head for trans guys. But there's def Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan and Badhaai Do in popular media for gay Desi guys.

There are many more niche movies and series out there , even on regional level. There are cute short stories on YouTube for you to look up.

Also, you may not know but that famous double take song by Dhruv is about mlm relationship and the artist is brown.

There's Salman Toor, the Pakistani artist who has many paintings which involve brown gay guys.

Something very very not politically correct in me wants very badly a gay romance between two most toxic Indian doodz. Like the misogyny that drips from them was oh shit gay panic. Very leaders of two enemy nukkad gangs falling for each other enemies to lovers style. Homoerotic bloody fights. Like you try to set yourself with his sister but end up catching feels for him and oh shit now you're in a gang war but he came to fight on a bullet and wasn't that extremely hot? You blast Punjabi fuckboy songs to irritate the other but like you're really feeling the lyrics goddamn.

It would be angry and ugly and oh god so satisfying to watch. Paused fists. Crumbling defences. Jagged edges of rage that were supposed to be blunted by perfect bollywood sweet heroine but instead meet the whetstone in form of your enemy. Double edged sword. And you cut yourself and him.

there was this theory floating around on tumblr about how morgan losing her father was a perfect set up to morgan becoming a villain and i became obsessed with that idea, and 3000 was the result of that. it was a huge labour of love (because i rly struggle to bring fics over the 1000 word mark) and it is one of my favourite things ive ever written

life, the long way round

i bingewatched doctor who instead of doing my work and this fic was the result of that. im yet to watch something and not think “how do i turn this into a tony au?” there’s glaring similarities between the doctor and tony and i just really enjoyed writing this. it is hard to understand if you haven’t watched doctor who - which is why i included the key plot points needed to understand the fic,,,but i just love the idea that even time itself cannot stop rhodey and tony from falling for each other. i also experimented with fem! rhodey, which was fun

im cheating slightly because this includes two works (and like 4 others that are unpublished because im still working on them) but my favourite thing to come out of 2019 is desi!tony stark. og people on this blog will remember how much i used to talk about italian! tony stark - and while i still have a lot of love for that headcanon, it is also very telling that it didn’t even occur to me to draw from my own culture and that i focused on another culture. so that growth for me is something im personally very proud of, and bollywood but make it gay was born from that.
