One Day

Notes: Third and final installment of Wrecked. Based on One Day by Imagine Dragons.

There was one week left before going back to Hillerska. One week to convince his mother what he wanted. Wille wanted to endorse a charity. A LGBTQ+ charity. He was ready to fight. Ready to defy the queen as soon as she rejected his idea. What he didn't expect was her compliance, her encouragement. Though she did ask him to wait.

She asked him to write a statement with PR, contact the charity he chose, visit and decide if that was really what he wanted. So, he did. His statement was ready. They went to the charity, he met with the staff and the queer children they worked with. Wilhelm fell in love with the thought of helping further the cause of helping queer children in less than pleasant situations.

He spoke with the children for hours, photos were taken, his smiles were real, his eyes sparkled, his heart full. Well, almost full. Fuller than it had been in about a month. It was a wonderful feeling.

It was hard to not think about how he wanted to make someone else happy, someone besides the kids that laughed at his clumsiness, his terrible jokes and his groans when they picked on him. Despite the fullness the children gave him, he felt hollow as soon as he was back in the black car on his way back to Drottningholm. Wille knew he wanted to endorse this charity, to be a part of its growth and success. One day, maybe one day, the one he loved would be there to join him in laughing with the beautiful children.

Over dinner, Wilhelm was graced with news he couldn't believe. Especially when said news had been endorsed by his own mother. Swedish royals could now marry the same sex. He wasn't sure if he was breathing or if his heart was still beating. His eyes were wide, darting between his parents. They gave him the option to come out the next day with his charity endorsement. What really threw him for a loop was when they said he could retract his previous statement. About the video.

He couldn't breathe. His chest tight. How could this possibly be happening? Wilhelm wasn't sure how things could be going so well for him. The Crown Prince was a fuck up. Nothing was supposed to go his way. Life wasn't fair. But maybe… maybe things were finally turning around after well, his entire life.

Sitting on the edge of his bed, his thoughts were reeling. His statement revised. One day, he thought he might be the one to make him happy. Though, doubts spring back up. They always lingered. Remnants from being a wreck his entire life. Would Simon even want him back? He had to hope. Otherwise he wouldn't go forward with what he would say tomorrow.

One day, he hoped he could be the thing to make him happy. He hoped this was a good start to his redemption.

Wille had the final say on the Instagram post that would go out with the official statement. The first photo was of Wilhelm surrounded by kids and staff of the charity, a large rainbow flag behind them hanging from the building. A real smile gracing his face. But what stood out to him was the shirt he wore. A yellow and blue plaid shirt over a purple t-shirt. He had insisted on dressing normal. The kids wouldn't care if he wore a suit or not. They would only care if he were like them. And he was in more ways than they realized. The post linked to the charity and Wilhelm's official endorsement.

The official statement of denying it was Wilhelm in the leaked video was retracted with an apology and an explanation of being scared of what would happen if he had just admitted it was him. But now he realized the repercussions that were thrown upon his partner, and how the regret destroyed him and his relationship.

There was another photo tied to the post. Wilhelm in Simon's shirt and a pride flag draped over his shoulder. He remained unlabeled, only knowing that he loved the boy in the video with his whole heart.

One day...

He waited. And waited. His mother had told him to wait in his room. But why? His thumb a permanent fixture against his teeth as he paced his room. The thoughts in his head were so loud, he didn't hear the knocks at his door, or the door open. His hand ran through his hair, only for his fringes to fall back where they were.

The sound of his name was the only thing that halted his endless pacing. He was met with bright brown eyes and curly hair. Wille was semi conscious of falling to his knees, overcome and overwhelmed with seeing the love of his life in front of him, in his room at the palace. He hid his face behind his hands as a silent sob ripped through him.

Arms were around him and he melted into the touch. Simon. His Simon. "You're so brave, Wille." His heart was near to bursting when their lips met, soft and chaste. "I love you, too," He whispered, foreheads touching, noses nudging.

Wilhelm thought one day may be sooner than he hoped.

The Dragon Prince Instagram Q&A

As we wait for 4th Season of the official Dragon Prince Saga to arrive, the creators of the show had done an Instagram Q&A to celebrate the release of their graphic novel, “Through the Moon”, while what the creators revealed wasn’t enough to become a spoiler to us, here are some of a few highlights on the answers and teases they gave out that will give us much excitement for what's to come from the Dragon Prince and the world of Xadia:

TTM will not have a sequel but is canon and will herald S4's plot

Moonshadow Elves partially slip into a dimension of the Moon granting them a full stealth mode

There will be outfit changes in S4 for the main characters

Callum will not be limited to Sky and seems to be closer to unlocking the Moon Arcanum

They WANT him to become the first Human Archmage (kind of a troll but still implied to be possible in the future)

More Sarai coming

They refuse to say what the Key of Aaravos unlocks

The Sun AND Ocean Arcanum are both capable of healing as well as a few other Arcanums

GN characters could get into the main series

You should get TTM before S4 for the best experience

Zym will grow up and experience more character development. He's a puppy!

More Gren content!

Ellis will probably return but not 100%

They cannot say what Aaravos told Khessa.

The Orphan Queen will be referenced a lot more and they still want her movie to happen.

There is potential for Moonshadow Elves to manifest other abilities based on the Arcanums. This is possible for other types of Elves as well. It mostly comes from training.

There will be MORE Dark Mages.

Aaravos possibly had a role in the mastery and discovery of Dark Magic

More Dragons and Archdragons are coming.

Avizandum CAN MAYBE be unstoned.

Elves are indeed capable of Dark Magic.

There's a lot of easter eggy stuff on the map.

They said: What has Claudia done that deserves a redemption arc?

They wanna explore how Runaan and Ethari met.

They might tell the story of Callum's birth Dad. Probably mostly his impact on Sarai's life.

Zubeia will be more involved in Season 4.

More Crow Master to come.

Most Elves have 4 fingers and 4 toes. We know Tidebound Elves have 2 toes.

The divide of the continent is still a big deal.

Soulfang Serpents are part of the Moon Arcanum.

Bait's Glowtoad tribal name is just some funny grunt.

We will see the reactions of Human and Elf relationships as seen by other characters.

It took 9 months to a year in order to fully develop Through The Moon.

Through The Moon happens a couple of weeks after Season 3.

They still won't say what the time gap between TTM and S4.

There is a bigger world out there other than Xadia but Xadia and the Human Kingdoms are the focus of the show.

Some Elven cultures use temporary tattoos and make up while others use permanent ones.

There will be more Queen Aanya.

Aanya and Ezran friendship could happen.

So far Amaya is the best fighter in the show

atla social media headcanons

(brainstormed with my friend when we were messing around/being completely serious with our love for the characters)

in this modern au, iroh is the fire lord and lu ten is the heir. also, bending and the avatar is still a thing.

beware of shameless sukka and mai lee because those are the only ships i will accept no arguments about. (i’m also a zu/tara and t/aang shipper but you won’t find anything romantic about them in here)

read below the cut because it’s a lot

katara posts aesthetic photos and inspirational quotes on instagram and sokka never stops teasing her about it

(he won’t admit it, but there are days where he gets super stressed and reads one of her posts and immediately feels better)

sokka keeps posting about suki (they’re not dating yet) and everyone hates it (but also loves it)

he also posts videos of stupid stuff he does alone and with his friends, as well as livestreaming q&a

(katara: sokka you aren’t actually famous)

sokka unironically vlogs

toph posts random pictures (usually of her feet or of the ground) and pretends it’s because she’s blind and can’t take proper pictures and everyone knows she’s just messing with them

but everyone does add alt text to their photos so toph can hear what’s in the photos and captions

the actual reason why toph is bad with instagram is that she wasn’t even allowed to have a phone when she was younger, as her parents thought it would be unsafe for a little blind girl (they were wrong)

the gaang eventually realizes that toph isn’t entirely messing with them and help her through everything

she now knows that she can post videos and will not stop filming her earthbending or her sessions with a blindfolded and vulnerable aang that she beats up in two seconds

aang posts a bunch of pictures of appa (who is a dog? still a sky bison? we don’t know)

zuko and suki don’t have instagram (zuko says it’s because he’s royalty and he doesn’t want to get stalked and suki just likes to do the exact opposite of what sokka tells her to) but their friends continue to pester them about getting accounts

zuko ultimately caves, but as a “fuck you” to all of them, he posts a selfie with suki captioned “say hello to my best friend and the only valid person in my life besides my mother and uncle”

sokka is outraged and he, along with katara because she’s the nosiest, find zuko’s account password, gather all of his friends and family (the valid family members only), take a selfie with all of them, post it with the caption “the best people around” or “the people i love most in the world” or smth uncharacteristically cheesy like that, then wait for zuko to notice

it gets a million likes

he eventually does notice and he swears to delete it but doesn’t

mai also does not have an instagram and she does not cave despite their constant badgering

she does cave, however, when ty lee asks her. she only needs to ask once.

azula is just subtly posting pictures with the royal palace as the background because she likes to flex

every year, katara posts a family picture on mother's day and/or her mom's birthday

also on mother’s day, each member of the gaang (even zuko because he really would do anything for his best friends) posts a picture of katara and very seriously celebrates her as a mother

they do the same with zuko on father’s day

every time aang posts, without fail, everyone in the gaang comments “BABY 🥺🥺🥺” and they refuse to stop

they convince iroh to make an official account for the jasmine dragon to bring in more business, but both iroh and zuko have no idea what they’re doing with it

so the rest of the gaang posts posters and menu items but since they all have different styles, every post is wildly different and customers are really confused

katara is all about the aesthetic and posts pics of her order almost every time, sokka livestreams and sneaks random videos of zuko working, aang actually really tries to help with marketing but it’s all just pictures of the menu which hardly every changes, toph has a schedule for posting pictures of chair legs, suki is the only competent one and with katara’s help, makes cool posters and edited videos

the first time someone tags zuko in a picture on their account, all their followers freak out about the fire nation prince in their game night or cafe outing

since then, they make a point to get zuko in all of their photos

as well as the occasional lu ten or iroh

suki’s first post is a video sokka took of her practicing martial arts with her warriors and at first, she was a little hesitant to exploit the kyoshi culture but kyoshi herself appeared and gave her permission to show off their badassery

since then, she’s posted tutorials and practice/teaching sessions

she’s also a makeup master and she posts standard makeup tutorials too, but she refuses to post a tutorial on the kyoshi makeup look in case people start appropriating it (sokka understands and stops asking her)

katara doesn’t like to show off her bending on social media, especially since it’ll mess up the aesthetic of her account, but once zuko posts a video of him practicing because sokka dared him to (he really can’t resist a dare), katara gets annoyed and does the same

it becomes a competition of sorts, but they never mention it outside of their posts, so the rest of the gaang doesn’t know if they should intervene or encourage it

(toph obviously encourages it, aang is conflicted)

(sokka is secretly rooting for katara, but he likes to annoy her further by cheering zuko on)

it’s pretty neck and neck for a while, but katara is a faster learner and surpasses him

zuko gets really upset with this and decides to post of a video of him practicing with his dao swords, since katara can’t do any fighting outside of her bending

(katara: that’s cheating, you’re a cheater, i hate your guts)

(she doesn’t)

sokka keeps trying to make zuko post a video of the dancing dragon and aang really wants to, but zuko refuses

they all have a shared youtube account with videos of them sparring, playing games, or just chilling

azula is in one of these videos and roasts each of them, and it’s the most liked video on the account

(toph is laughing the entire time but the second azula gets to her, she throws a rock in her face and the video ends)

sokka posts gaming videos and vlogs on his youtube, zuko draws the line at youtube, aang has a camera on his staff and livestreams the view of the ground as he’s flying, katara makes cooking videos, suki is a makeup guru, and toph is their designated guest star when they’re running out of content because viewers love her

every time sokka is in a post with a girl that isn’t katara, he gets shipped with them, so he starts baiting viewers with intentionally vague wording and shots that could be romantic

eventually, sokka and suki start fake-dating to get the extremely pushy viewers off his back, but in pure rom-com style, they fall in love for real

ty lee makes shopping vlogs and makeup hauls and these are the only things mai will say no to her about

one time, suki had toph try and do her makeup... it did not go well

(suki: i swear to kyoshi, you did this on purpose)

a lot of sokka’s vlogs involve him, aang, and toph lounging on the sofa (all of them but zuko share an apartment, zuko is trying to convince his family to let him move out of the palace) watching tv and eating chips

katara and suki hate it but they allow it as long as they clean up the mess

they draw the line once they catch the three of them simultaneously fart

(suki: sokka, i’m dating your sister now)

Just a little rambling and then a few bands I really like and you should totally check out, so expand it if you wanna see them :)

I know this isn’t a normal update, I just have to talk about this with someone.

Music is a vital part of everyday life for me. Everything I do has a backtrack. If I’m not watching a show in my room, I have to have music playing. When I write I have headphones in, blasting music, like right now. To go to sleep and sleep easily I have to play music, ever since I was young I’ve done it. I can’t remember not falling asleep without music playing. Music even helps inspire what I write.

Point is, I love music.

However, I am extremely uncomfortable with sharing my music. My freshman year I was made fun of the type of music I listen to, which has evolved a bit in the 3-4 years since that time, however it hasn’t ventured too far.

When I was eleven my parents gave me a windows phone with no sim card, but it had a music app. They downloaded a bunch of child friendly songs and it was the first time I could control what I listened to. Before I had an old MP3 which was filled with Disney songs, Anamaniacs tunes, and ABBA’s Golden Hits. I can sing all them by heart, dances are a fun time for me. Now, I could look up songs.

My best friend was into the alternative scene as her sister is six years older than us and as such had a more ‘adult’ music sense. She introduced me to the classic bands, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At the Disco, etc. I loved their music, we’d listen to it on the bus to middle school. However, as time went on, I began expanding my music taste. I got into My Three Days Grace, Shinedown, and other similar bands. Then, Freshman year came.

I remember the moment clear as day. I was working on my photography notebook the week before finals like the dumbass I was am, with Pandora open and listening to one of the many radios. Then, a song came on. It was by a band I hadn’t heard of before. It was called Bad Company, and the band was called Five Finger Death Punch. Now, little fourteen year old me was a little shocked by the name but the song wasn’t unlike anything I’d heard before. I decided I liked that song and favorited it.

A little while later more of their songs began popping up, but they were a little different. Heavier. Angrier. And I loved it. I don’t know what it was about the gruff vocals or pounding drum beats or glorious guitar solos, but I was hooked. I then moved onto Spotify and listened to their albums, headbanging all the way. This was my first experience with Metal, and you better believe I was a fan.

As time went on I explored more bands. Alesana, Asking Alexandria, Crown the Empire, A Day to Remember, Halestorm, Ghost, etc. I tried showing people my favorite bands but they made fun of my music taste, mimicking their screams whenever I looked up. It was disheartening, and I never wanted to share it again. Not until I knew they were okay with it. I had people tell me they were scared of that music, and asked me to never play it in front of them. You can see how that would make me never want to tell anyone about it, right? Well, I kept it to myself, electing to share music with only a few people, one being my friend. She always jokes about how she showed me Fall Out Boy and all them and then lost me along the way.

During Junior year I discovered even more bands, including one of my favorites, Ice Nine Kills. Amazing band, you should definitely check them out, but the advertising comes later. My music taste also diversified a little and I began listening to softer bands, like grandson and The Ghost Club.

Now, to the main show. My recent music taste.

It all began with one Instagram video. A meme video that really isn’t all that funny. I was actually just looking through what I saved and it happened to be in a really small folder, so I clicked it. Here is the exact video

So I was interested the song and band and decided to look them up. What I found was simply...amazing.

Okay, here comes the advertising of my favorite bands :)

I. Gloryhammer

The first Power Metal band I discovered and still my favorite. Here’s how Gloryhammer describes themselves:

“And lo, Planet Earth had been destroyed by the Hootsman, with an explosion so powerful it ripped a hole in the very fabric of spacetime. And yet, Zargothrax was still not defeated, for he managed to use his last shreds of power to escape through the dimensional rift. Vowing to defeat the evil sorcerer, Angus McFife XIII followed him into the portal, with no idea where it might lead…“

That may seem confusing, and it is, but trust me, when I tell you a bit more, it will all make sense.

So Gloryhammer is one of the best bands I have ever heard before. Their concept is absolute gold and is the only of its kind I’ve seen before. Basically, every single one of their songs tells a story of the Land of Fife. The Lead singer (Thomas Winkler) is Prince Angus McFife (the 1st and 13th), keyboard/backing vocals (Christopher Bowes) is the Evil Sorcerer Zargothrax, guitar/backing vocals (Paul Templing) is Sir Proletiues, leader of the warriors of Crail, drums (Ben Turk) is the Ancient Hermit Ralathor, and last but never least is bass/backing vocals (James Cartwright), the Mighty Hootsman!

Each album follows a part in the epic saga, with three in total. The first album tells the story of the original Angus McFife the I whereas the next two follow his ancestor, Anguc McFife XIII. I don't want to give too much spoilers but let's just say that all three are filled with so much creativity and twists that it’s like listening to a movie! I cant even express how if you are looking for something to listen to that has dragons, goblin kings, evil sorcerers, hammers, and space, then this is the band for you!

I am going to put one song by them down because you can only have five and I’m big mad about it.

So yeah, that’s band numero uno!

II. Sabaton

What is there to say about Sabaton that hasn’t already been said...

Unlike Gloryhammer, Sabaton is older, formed in the nineties. Here’s what they say about themselves on their website:

“In the nearly two decades since their launch, Swedish metallers Sabaton have carved out a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the business �� gaining a legion of loyal fans across the globe, delivering eight highly-rated studio albums (including two certified platinum-sellers), and scoring multiple industry award wins and nominations… not to mention launching their own annual festival and cruise.

Combining soaring power riffs with vocalist Joakim Brodén’s instantly-recognisable gruff baritone, the band refuses to be simply slotted into a genre. Fans need only know them as Sabaton: the heavy metal band that sings of real life wars and the people who played a part in them – of gruelling campaigns and dazzling acts of bravery, of magnificent victories and touching personal struggles – true stories more fantastic than any fiction,”

Sabaton is, as they stated, a band dedicated to sharing stories of true battles throughout history. On their website they even have a whole calendar dedicated to historic events, so you can see what happened in history on whatever day you’d like!

As a huge history geek, this band is amazing. I would watch the World War documentary series before I went to bed in middle school because I thought all of that stuff was so interesting. If I didn’t love writing and English as much as I do then I’d go into a career where history was involved. They were actually a part of my Spotify Wrapped this year where I explored 27 of their songs, listened to six of their albums, and spent over 39 hours listening to just them this year.

Unlike what I did before, I am just going to showcase three of my favorite songs by them because they have way too many albums and I’m sad to say I didn’t listen to all of them.

Now, onto the third band and a good one too!

III. Powerwolf

I’m not a religious person, I grew up being taught all that stuff but I consider myself to be more agnostic rather than Christian or any of that stuff. But, if there’s one religious thing I don’t mind bumping its the Priests of Metal, Powerwolf! Here's what they have to say about themselves:

“After spilling gallons of blood and fighting tirelessly, after only two albums with Napalm Powerwolf shot straight to the pole position of the official German album charts (and another album made it into the top three!). After selling out venue after venue and thrilling bigger and bigger hordes of fans, the time is right for a new chapter: The Sacrament Of Sin which offers eleven metal psalms forged for all eternity!

Powerwolf entered Fascination Street Studios in Örebrö, Sweden starting in January 2018 to work on their seventh manifesto together with renowned producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth). The band is made up of vocalist Karsten Brill as "Attila Dorn", lead guitarist Benjamin Buss as "Matthew Greywolf", bassist/rhythm guitarist David Vogt as "Charles Greywolf", keyboardist Christian Jost as "Falk Maria Schlegel" and drummer Roel van Helden.

They’re really awesome and here’s my favorite song by them.

IV. Brothers of Metal

Oh boy, if you thought the bands might’ve mellowed out a little then you are sorely unprepared for this glorious group...

When I was younger I was one of those Percy Jackson kids, but my love for mythology started long before I read one of those books. As I grew older I expanded my knowledge, moving away from Greek and Roman and into Norse and other mythologies. You can imagine my joy when I found Brothers of Metal. They have no Wikipedia or website so here’s what Spotify says about them:

“BROTHERS OF METAL consist of eight powerful Viking warriors that originates from the glorious kingdom of Falun, far up in the north. Falun is a mighty town that lies within the dark iron woods where only true metal warriors reside. BROTHERS OF METAL are known to most as the strongest metal band in the nine realms.

Before time, our eight warriors would travel through the realms and protect the good folk against evil. It was one of those nights that the legacy of metal was born. They came home from some pretty intense giant slaying and felt the common urge for mead and entertainment. The mead was generously flowing from the teats of Heidrun, but the music was really bad. The warriors took what instruments they could find and started playing, thus they wrote their first song Son of Odin, creating a tribute hymn to the strongest god they knew.

The mortals of the kingdom was so impressed with the music that they couldn't get enough, our warriors looked at each other and so a band was formed. Together they swor an oath to keep the flames of true metal burning and to continue to play until the earthlings had worthy entertainment of their own, it's yet to come,”

They haven’t released a ton of music when compared to the bands I listed before them, but they are absolutely amazing! All their music videos make me chuckle and when I watch Q&A’s they’ve posted they feel so down to earth that a person whos probably a decade younger than them if not less/more can relate to them. All their music has to do with Norse Mythology, but here’s my favorite music video yet:

I hope you all weren't too bored and I hope you at least somewhat enjoyed this. It feels good to talk about my favorite bands. I’d love to put more videos in but Tumblr won’t let you so I guess we’re stuck with only one per band. I planned on doing three each but I guess that’s dead in the water.

Three Random things that make me happy: ah, so many things. It was hard to narrow:

- First and foremost is my Family. They may drive me to frustration sometimes, but at the end of the day I know I'll always have them.

- More trivial things that I love: Tea (everything: tea parties, tea cups, tea dresses, tea cakes, etc) I've started a teapot collection, it might just be a problem.

Oh boy, let me tell you this one is just too cute for its own good. The color style is just perfect for the story and the characters are written realistically and lovingly. You know when it’s a rainy day and you just have that warm feeling in your chest cause you’re cuddled up next to the window just watching the rainfall (maybe it's just me) but this comic radiates that feeling. The Prince and the Dressmaker

This book was talked about for a little bit on Tumblr but it still deserves recognition! When I make a post like this I really like to include more stuff with gender instead of just sexuality or lack thereof. According to the author, she has always described Sebastian as Genderqueer but she has said: “If a reader feels that this story is just the first step to Sebastian discovering they’re trans, or if they feel Sebastian is a cis male that likes to dress up I’m happy with all of that!” Source

That aside it is a wonderful book that still deserves support!
