Mr. + Mr. Sharpe, Pt. IV

Maxim and Antwan sat back to back in the foyer of a dark mansion. The cream walls lay covered in vibrant tags of graffiti and oblong shaped furniture pieces sat wrapped in heavy white sheets. The marble did not creak beneath their boots but the leaves, buoyed by the frigid February air, scraped and moaned across the dingy tiles. The couple sat on an fluffy beige rug with a picnic placed between them.  

“Status.” Maxim called over his shoulder. 

“Clear.” Antwan answered automatically. 

Maxim and Antwan sat very still as they pointed their guns in anticpation of targets. Maxim could feel the quick rise and fall of Antwan’s shoulders and he pushed his back against him. 

“Deeper breaths, babe.” He called. 

“I know. I know.” Antwan quipped. “Something just isn’t right. We had no contracts out. We left the game. Everyone we know is dead or in hiding. We were good. How the hell did someone find us?” 

Antwan’s voice was a furious whisper at Maxim’s ear. Maxim was the more levelheaded of the two—very seldom did he panic in the face of hard decisions. He was patient and calculated as opposed to his husband’s reactionary responses. 

“I don’t know.” Maxim said. “but we can’t worry about that in this moment. Survive the night.” 

“Survive the night.” Antwan repeated.  

Antwan’s breaths came slower at his back and he smiled. 

“Stop smiling.” Antwan warned. “There’s nothing to smile about.” 

“Kinda is.” Maxim cooed. 

He leaned back and rested his head against Antwan’s soft coiled ponytail. The barrel of his gun did not dip as he mirrored an exhale with Antwan. 

“We’ve had worse anniversaries.” Maxim smiled. 

“Cape town.” Antwan mused. 

“Barbados.” 

“Tokyo.” 

“Copenhagen.” They said together. 

“I still don’t know who gave little Annegrete that pistol.” Maxim chortled. 

“I did.” Antwan called back. 

“Why the fuck did you give an eight year old Dannish girl a pistol, Antwan?”  

“She was sitting there with her legs crossed like we were her bodyguards and that’s not what we got paid for. She was there. She was gonna work too, goddamit.” 

“Babe...” Maxim sighed. 

“What?” Antwan asked.

Howdy dear reader! I'm your host Glagger, and today I'm here to bring you the fifth post in my medal analysis series for the visual novel Password by Grizz.

This post is the third, and final installment of the day 9 medals trio. This trio's important connection is going to be explained in depth in the next post, the series first intermission.

Post contains SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL, as usual. So please, if you haven't read the novel yet, and don't want to be spoiled, leave for now.

Pisces, the medal of Forgiveness, Empathy and Acceptance:

Pisces is found at the bottom of the river in the forest by Dave. Dean leads Dave there so they can spend some quiet time together, which leads into a conversation about his friendship with Sal and how Dave thinks friends shouldn't hurt each other. Dean says as long as apologies are done after a fight and both forgive, it's okay, assuming you can apologize for the harm that was done. Dean also uses the fact Tyson hurt Dave but then became a friend to back that statement.

Dave asks what are the things you can't apologize for, and after promising not to tell anyone about what's about to be shared, convinces Dean to come clean about his sin. Dean committed a mistake that ruined a friends's life an caused said friend to attempt suicide. He expresses how much he wishes for a do-over or simply to have the chance to apologize for what he did.

Dave asks how he can help, and Dean says he already is, thanking him for doing so, and then staying in silence with his arm around Dave's shoulders. Dean kisses Dave's cheek and asks if he's okay after he catches him overthinking in silence about their relationship's future. Dave then spots the medal as Dean is reassuring him, and the bear fishes the medal with a stick. He ends the scene by carrying Dave back to the mansion on his back.

Pisces, in astrology, is the mutable negative water sign of the zodiac. It's a passive, adaptable sign that is said to be the most empathetic of the zodiac wheel, which is a result of it being the last sign. Pisces absorbed and learned all the lessons from the other signs in the wheel, all of their joys and pains, hopes and fears.

Astrologers say, those born in Pisces are the most psychic, empathetic, and compassionate amongst people. They are so sensitive physically and emotionally that they run the risk of being swallowed by emotions, needing to remember to ground themselves often. They are kind, gentle and romantic, loving to share experiences that involve their creative pursuits with loved ones. They effortlessly adapt to their surroundings, but easily become lost between fantasy and reality, which makes them seem delusional when taking decisions and addressing their problems.

Pisces is ruled by two planets. The old ruler Jupiter, who represents gifts, luck, tolerance, and spiritual growth. And the modern ruler Neptune, who represents creativity and dreams, psychic receptivity, illusion and deception, and escapism. This combination is what gives Pisces its duality between reality and fantasy. Pisces is patient and wants to grow spiritually in reality, but often attempts to swim away from its issues. They use ignorance as both a shield to avoid addressing the reality of the problem, and as a seed for their imagination to create fantasies where these issues are solved.

In Greek and Roman myth, while visiting Syria, Aphrodite and Eros (or Venus and Cupid) are attacked by Typhon, and two fish save them by carrying them on their backs. In another version, after an egg falls into the Euphrates, some fish nudge it to the shore, and after doves warm it up, Aphrodite is born from it. In gratitude she sends the fish to the skies where they become a constellation.

Dean reveals a trauma that affects his life constantly, he has to swim against it and the insecurities generated from it everyday not to drown in them. This metaphorical monster makes him feel the need to always be perfect, because the guilt makes him feel like he's still a terrible person who constantly needs to do and be better all the time. This toxic perfectionism causes Dean to behave in ways that can unwillingly upset others he cares about, while also deeply affecting his romantic and sexual relationships and how he perceives them. Dave also has complications with romance and sex; the trauma of losing his father essentially killed his desire for both. He also behaves in negative ways to those he cares about thanks to the scars of his pain. This shared issue between Dean and Dave parallels perfectly with how Aphrodite, goddess of love and sexuality, and her son Eros, god of love and erotism, both need to be saved from the monster trying to kill them. Dean and Dave seem to play the role of the fish trying to save their desire to love and be intimate with one another from their inner demons, sharing an intimate emotional moment with one another as a first step towards that.

The secondary myth seems to complement this idea. By the end of their interaction after fishing the medal from the river, their relationship with one another seems to finally hatch into something substantial, much like how Aphrodite hatches from the egg after the fish saved her. And the scene ends with Dean carrying Dave on his back to the manor like the fish in the myth do to Aphrodite when they carry her to the shore.

The relationship between Dave and Dean is complicated. This is because they both refuse to acknowledge and deal directly with the disconnection they have with one another, caused by their issues. They both ignorantly lead the other on, avoiding the main problem while pretending a perfect fantasy date will solve their issues and solidify their bond. They patiently tolerate every failed attempt in their way, awaiting for the time they believe to be right in their fantasy. What they fail to understand is that creating the perfect scenario in reality is up to them. All that parallels well with Pisces' rulers.

The traumas Dean and Dave suffered have made them extremely emotional, sensitive and empathetic people, who are very kind, gentle, loving, passive and receptive men. Those traits are even stronger when it comes to people they care about, like Tyson and Sal. They both show adaptability in how they found a way to keep on living and trying to bond with others and be happy, despite the pain wearing them down. Together, their flexibility allows them to start healing and improving in order to become better people like they wish to be.

Craig's commentary on the medal is that it's a sign that fights against both joy and pain, hope and fear, constantly battling two opposing forces as if swimming upstream without ever giving up to either. Craig theorizes that perhaps that's why they found the medal together in the moment they did, a moment of vulnerability, which he says could go a long way if one is willing to allow it to. This is a reference to how Dean and Dave both fight against their pain and fear to overcome their personal issues, while simultaneously self-sabotaging and going against their own happiness and hope by forcing themselves to be perfect all the time. They both like one another and want to progress their bond, but don't actively pursue it and lead the other on, something that only begins to change once they allow their vulnerability in the moment to change it.

omg hii!! my weekend was ok had a good saturday and a not so great but over all ok sunday 👍 cramps kicked my ass and i stayed in bed all day yesterday but thats ok. i dont feel much better now but i am going to bed early tonight just to get some rest lol

today both my professors complimented my writing tho!!! my art history professor mentioned in class that I had written a really good paper and my writing history professor said he likes how i insert myself into my writing and how i'm not afraid of being candid when writing.. he was like i love when writers are vunerable, you really feel like youre getting to know them ( this was after he had us read out the essays about a city's birth and the indigenous people who lived there before... and I wrote half about that and half about living in richmond and how I teetered on the verge of becoming an alcoholic and how I chainsmoked out my apartment window and was extremely lonely to the point of hanging out at the robert e lee memorial alone in the dew covered grass at 3 am just to see the stars and how it grounded me when I was feeling especially fragile and untethered and how I would adorn my eyelashes in glitter to create my own personal constellations when i didnt feel like walking 30ish minutes to get the the racist statue LOL)

wow i got sidetracked real bad lmao.... as for donuts, lately I've been a plain old glazed girly. theyre basic but idk whatever. I used to hate them because of sensation of extremely sticky fingers make me feel like im get electrocuted but a bunch of tiny nails just underneath my skin... but now i like ok with it bc i love them so much. at the farmers market theres these weird big and skinny ones that are so fucking good. I'm really craving one right now. ....... i love bavarian cream too but I havent had a decent one in a depressingly long time.

I am officially back! I hope you like my observations and remember: these are all my observations, they're not meant to hurt anyone! 🧸

Pisces rising women can be pretty cold, distant and aloof. Even when you're really close to them, it always feels like there's this barrier between you and them

Saturn in the 4th house had mothers or caretakers that were strict and not pleased with their accomplishments. They may feel like they're never good enough for their mother

Neptune in the 4th house may have caretakers that were unable to actually take care of them. I've seen this in people whose parents struggled with substance abuse or mental health issues. These children dream about the perfect life and the perfect family. They wish they grew up "normally" 🥺

Leo sun and virgo rising is just such a beautiful placement. Both my friends have this and they're the perfect mix of generosity, playfulness and helpfulness. They're the best 🥺

I did it! This is an IDW AU born while watching The Green Knight (2021), specifically from one movie shot that I'd like to redraw. I was torn on whether or not to draw them all as robots or humans, so I started making designs for their human counterparts first - mostly because it is more fun to come up with clothes and accessories. I will eventually tackle a robot version. This is a long post, btw!

Indeed, this is a completely separate version from the Lion King AU I had come up with a couple of years ago, I just borrowed the crowns because I really liked those designs lol.

But let's set the stage under the cut. You can listen to the playlist on spotify dedicated to it: I've placed the songs in sequence so that they can create a certain vibe for the scenes I had in mind. You can read the plot part while listening.

Some character traits

This royalty au supposes a parliamentary monarchy (like the UK, Spain or Japan). This work is an in-between of later Roman/early Medieval aesthetics and some Futuristic Stuff. The Autobot brand is the royal family crest, while the Decepticon brand can be used to signal the Protector and their entourage, but only in formal settings outside the nation. Usually, the Protector can show elements of the Decepticon colours (red) in their attires.

Optimus Prime

Optimus is prideful and domineering: he knows he has the power to do real damage to people. After all, he was born into royalty and has known no other life. He has anger outbursts, but that's a side effect of his paranoia. At the start of the story, he is not the prime yet. He's around 23-24, already suffering from a mental affliction much like schizophrenia, but, just as in ye old days, the court and his father (Zeta) are not really concerned about his odd behaviours. "He is just volatile", you know. He is also dramatic, making big scenes when his emotions are too cooped up. Optimus, though, is not intentionally cruel - this isn't a Shattered Glass au where he wants some kind of bloodlust sated. He has a deep inner mind, feeling much more like a philosopher and a writer than a brute. This makes him a little naive, too, having people in court (like Prowl) taking advantage of him - and sometimes even Megatron uses his influence on Optimus to stir him where he wants to. He reads a lot, is curious, and is deeply in love with Megatron - sometimes becoming a little cringy about it. He can be a bit of a goofball, telling jokes and being rather affectionate with his family. Sadly, he's a Pisces.

Megatron

Megatron is a diligent engineer who just so happens to pick the Prime's son's interest at some point while assisting his father (Terminus, a strict, distant man) in a job at court. Optimus and Megatron are the same age. He is aloof, quiet and a very good listener. That means he often allows people to speak over him or for him - that doesn't mean, however, that he isn't going to correct them or speak his mind. He is just a careful man. Coming from a rather cold family environment, he has a hard time expressing his emotions, both verbally and physically: he kisses and hugs, sure, but that doesn't come naturally to him. After becoming protector, he has a hard time getting used to the court lifestyle since he is quite bothered by the intricacies of royal "rituals", may they be clothing, hairstyles or make-up choices. Or Starscream fussing over him about that all day. He also often stands up against abuse of power, especially from Optimus. They fight quite a lot. He enjoys drawing (buildings, like architecture) and reading novels, but he's not particularly cultured. He is also, sadly, an Aquarius. (And transgender, but this has no political or social bearing in the story besides being Rodimus' biological carrier).

Prowl

Prowl is about fifteen years older than Optimus, becoming his advisor once Zeta Prime passes in "a tragic accident". He is ambitious, cunning and... Deceptive. His ultimate goal is to push Optimus to insanity, convince the parliament he is unfit to rule and become reagent in his stead. This would allow him to create an oligarchy with other senators. His words always support Optimus' delusions, abusing the Prime's naivety for his scheming. Prowl thinks of Optimus as an idiot lucky enough to be born in a high position in the social pyramid. He has attempted various times to "warn" Megatron, one of the few people who is extremely suspicious of Prowl. And by warn, I mean having him pushed down the stairs, giving him a nice broken leg. He also acts suspiciously around Rodimus.

Zeta Prime

Zeta Prime was a balanced, careful ruler. He held concerns about his son's future, as he thought Optimus wasn't fit for a leading role. He was a stern man and often frustrated by Optimus' antics. However, their relationship was on good terms. He was "found" dead by Prowl during a political meeting abroad, as he was standing in for Alpha Trion (Zeta's advisor), prompting Optimus' coronation. Zeta wasn't sick, but all primes in this AU suffer from haemophilia (a hereditary illness that makes it harder for the body to stop bleeding).

Rodimus

Rodimus was born three years into Optimus' primacy. He was brought up in a restrictive environment, as Megatron grew more suspicious of Prowl, fearing for Rodimus' safety. That translated into Rodimus feeling anxious when Megatron's not around (for too long, at least) and becoming a little jealous of him, even if it's Optimus taking Megatron's attention. Rodimus uses "dad" for Megatron and "Father" for Optimus. He doesn't like Optimus too much, usually bearing his presence and ignoring him whenever he can, but deep down he worries about his father, too. He is a very knowledgeable child with a vast vocabulary, as he enjoys books of every kind and, just like his dad, he is a good listener, learning a lot from the "adult conversations" around him. Rodimus is often seen together with Starscream (his nanny, in a way lol), who he is fond of but has difficulties showing it. He becomes Prime-to-be at the age of 16, like all Primes.

Starscream

Starscream was the royal alchemist, an inspired researcher and a man of science. He is loyal and has strong opinions on many subjects, especially on morals and ethics. That is also why, during Zeta's late reign, he was demoted to servant with the accusation of insubordination. He is still a high-grade servant, usually dealing with bureaucracy... Until a new Protector shows up, that is. As soon as Megatron becomes a Protector-to-be, he is assigned the role of first maid in assisting him, a task he takes very seriously. Although Megatron's distance and lack of interactions with him drive him quite mad at first, he slowly realises they're quite compatible. Their relationship evolves into confidants and then friends, as Megatron often takes Starscream's side. Also, Starscream has been suspicious of Prowl since day one. He enjoys Rodimus until he starts being a little opinionated pest-- but he's fond of the child, even as he grows older and more anxious. His hobby is sneaking into the court laboratories and fixing whatever annotations made by other alchemists he deems wrong.

Skywarp & Thundercracker

They are part of the Protector's entourage (and Starscream's brothers). Skywarp is a little airheaded, a bit clumsy, and usually focuses on entertainment, mostly writing poems and songs. He is the only one who knows all the intricate inner passages of the court's buildings by heart, meaning he never gets lost. Thundercracker, on the other hand, is a bit more cocky. He is built like a brick, so he helps with manual tasks and is a decent leader, usually picking up the ranks when Starscream is busy. Both of them were not demoted like their brother, they just started working at the court as high-grade servants. They are very loyal to Megatron, although they treat him more like a royal than a friend.

The Plot (generally speaking)

Optimus is interested in this one engineer working at the court he has seen a couple of times in the last few months. He is gorgeous, and it sounds like a fun time to fill in his afternoons, maybe even getting some sex out of it. That's a thing he hasn't lacked in his life, like most royals he was used to having sex workers available at whim. However, Megatron doesn't seem too affected by the Prime-to-be's attention. He is very deadpan and interested in him as a person; he finds Optimus interesting and funny, so, in a matter of weeks, they kind of hit it off, Optimus falling madly in love with this man, spending most of the time daydreaming and absolutely useless at his duties, much to Zeta's dismay.

As this love story progresses over the next couple of years, Prowl's machination starts rolling out: being a young overachiever, he patiently waits for the chance to get rid of Zeta in a way that doesn't point directly to him. After all, Prowl is trusted and seen as loyal and caring for the Primes he serves; he is an incredibly talented actor, having the support of a few Autobot senators, too. On an out-of-country political trip, he lets Zeta bleed to death, coming back home in a hurry to announce the Prime's death and rushing Optimus' coronation. At this point, Optimus is not mentally ready to hold that position; he is quickly pushed to marry Megatron, making him his Protector. In a matter of a year and a half, Optimus' mental state quickly deteriorates, allowing Prowl to take hold of the neo-Prime's decisions.

Optimus' mental illness worsens, which stresses Megatron into stirring his husband away from Prowl. Rodimus is born in that worried, paranoid environment. Although mostly wanted by Optimus as one of his fixations (and also discouraged by Prowl himself), Rodimus brings more stability to the court. Megatron finally takes hold of Optimus' volatile behaviour as Rodimus grows older, making the Prime doubt his advisor's suggestions more than once. Prowl, thus, "warns" Megatron to lay low, having him pushed down the stairs. The goal wasn't to kill Megatron but to show him Prowl could. As Rodimus turns seven, Megatron becomes more anxious and paranoid, rubbing that over to his son. Optimus doesn't allow them to go around the court or outside without being accompanied.

Prowl's hold on Optimus slowly slips away. At the time of Rodimus' coronation as a Prime-to-be, during a medical examination for his haemophilia, the court physician (Ratchet) tells him he needs to be careful, as that illness was Zeta's cause of death. That was a known thing, of course, but it made Optimus think over the mechanics of his father's death in a way only an obsession-driven man can. He confides with Megatron over his suspicion of Prowl killing his father, and finally, they seem to be on the same page on this...

This is somehow the story up to now. I don't know if I'll update it further. I just enjoy the idea of whatever can happen in this setting. I hope you enjoyed reading this wall of text.

Howdy dear reader! I'm your host Glagger, and today I'm here to bring you the first intermission if my medal analysis series for the visual novel Password by Grizz.

In this part, I'll discuss about the day 9 medals trio, and how they have a meaningful connection to the other that makes their presence on the same day and time an important parallel

Just like the main posts, this intermission has SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL. So please, if you haven't read the novel yet, and don't want to be spoiled, leave for now.

A brief intermission on the sinners trio: Cancer, Capricorn and Pisces, the negative aligned, contradiction trio:

The day 9 medals trio is a route exclusive combo from the negative modality that is associated with 3 characters whose main traumas and issues stem from their sins. These sins cause them to have contradictions in their behaviors, personalities and emotions, which makes the journey to understand and accept these contradictions as valid parts of their personas the main theme of their routes.

Roswell's medal being found on the same day and the time as Sal's seems to suggest that he intends to abuse the croc's trauma. This is supported by how Sal's scene, where he reveals that trauma and how it affects him, happens at the same time Roswell's medal scene happens. Combine that with Capricorn and Cancer being opposite signs in astrology and the parallel is reinforced even further.

It's also interesting to note that the decision to put Sal's medal and Dean's medal on the same day and time is apparently deliberate as well, since it explains better how and why their relationship works the way it does. Dean is forgiving and passive to the point where it can work in his detriment, allowing even physical violence against him to happen unpunished. Sal, on the other hand, can be overly critical and confrontational to the point where he can resort to physical violence to punish Dean for what he perceives as inconsiderate behavior. In both cases, this happens because of the guilt from their traumas affecting their behavior, and how they understand and respond to the behavior of others. The elemental association with earth and water seems to be on purpose as well, since earth and water are complementary and compatible elements. There's also the fact that Sal, the one associated with water, gets the earth medal found on land, while Dean, the one associated with earth, gets the water medal fished in a river. This seems to reflect how their inner selves are vastly different than their external selves, but still just as real, and how the similarities between the two of them and their traumas cause them to reflect the other in many aspects. This parallel clarifies why the two mesh so well together despite their differences, and why their relationship with the other is so positive and important.

Dean and Roswell's medals are also associated, since Roswell revealed the truth about his sickness to Dean, which is associated with his medal, after talking about his relationship with Dave, which is associated with Dean's medal, as a way of shaking his hand to poison him and kill him. The blind trust that event generates inside Dean towards Roswell looks like a reference to how Cancer and Pisces' compatibility as water signs generates bonds of emotional trust between both easily.

Finally, all 3 medals are associated with each other because they are the medals of the main characters of the day 11 trauma scene. In the scene, all three traumas intersect with one another. Roswell's that leads him to be desperate enough to murder his own friends in an attempt to save them in other iterations. Sal's that causes him to turn violent when protective of his loved ones, from the guilt of being responsible for the death of someone he loved. Dean's .that makes him all too passive to Sal's violence, since his guilt makes him receptive to punishment even when he's not in the wrong. All of these enable the other, causing the horrific massacre of that iteration.

ASTRO OBSERVATIONS

This placement is like finding a pearl in the ocean. These natives ooze positivity, truthfulness and cuteness. Their desire to make others feel content and loved is something I admire about them. They are the wise and thoughtful one of the group and they truly deserve the biggest hug anyone can give.

The dictionary on two legs. These people are so interesting to befriend. They always have new knowledge to spread and are interested in anything from novels, essays, poetry, encyclopedias...they are hungry to learn and spread their knowledge. They also love learning other languages and others traditions. Very open to talk about anything and everything.

🟤 Cancer Moon

I've already wrote about this placement in my Moon saga, but it definitely needs another reminder. The softness, loyalty and nurture these people have is healing, physically and emotionally. They will do anything to make you feel comfortable and safe, always help you with anything you need and never back down from you even if the whole world is against you.

🟤 Lilith in the 1st house

They're just the definition of sexiness. You can spot them from a mile away and the moment you touch them you can really feel this raw energy they give.

🟤 Sun in 8th house

Having such a personal sign in one of the darkest houses can be quite a storm to overcome. Nevertheless these people are so brave and utterly beautiful from the inside. They hold their pain away from the world with a hard shell of humor and sarcasm. This placement is the one which inspires many. They deserve recognition and to be taken care of.

🟤 Mercury in Pisces

They just know how to explain everything in your manner, being that you're a child, teenager or grown adult they are so patient and talented for it. Never wanting to fight, always thinking before speaking and truly an emotional fairy of words.

These individuals cam experience some rocky times in school and/or college, but after some ups and downs they are such interesting individuals.
