sometimes i think about how wild a mw2 movie would be if they just dropped soapghost right in the middle with no warning or marketing. like imagine it being beat for beat the exact same, it’s your typical military action movie, promoted as just another military action movie then after they get to the safe house, ghost has to patch up soap and he’s still out of it, overwhelmed by the betrayal and everything he’s seen and ghost needs to ground him and keep him in the present, to remind him that he’s alive and safe so he kisses him and they have sex. the tantrums and the rants and the “ReAl sOLdiErS aRen’t liKe ThAt”, god i can taste it and it’s delicious

Shinjiham is cute when it’s romantic but tbh I think i vastly prefer the idea of them being best friends instead. Like, neither of them really saw it coming and weren’t really looking to get another best friend (Shinji has Akihiko, Kotone has Junpei and Yukari respectively) but it happens anyway. Kotone takes a liking to Shinji much faster than she does anyone else and I’d say a big reason is just the fact that he’s so reserved that it allows Kotone to do most of the talking while he just listens and they love this arrangement cuz Kotone doesn’t get to talk about her own interests very much. Though I think some of her needs to talk to Shinji stems from this insecurity that he isn’t happy in the group and she has this people pleasing problem and wants everyone to be happy so she makes a much bigger effort to talk to Shinji. And it’s very unfortunate because Shinji intentionally acts cold and distant because he doesn’t want to form any attachments because he wants to die soon, but aaaaaaaagh dammit this girl just keeps talking to him and being sweet and encouraging him to engage in his interests and share them with the others and he just can’t seem to say no when she’s got those damn puppy eyes. And Kotone is just able to get him out of his shell by being persistent but not in an overwhelming way, she’s very cheerful and supportive of him. And Shinji is able to offer her support by encouraging her to talk about herself and by making sure she’s taking care of herself. They just click really well and make such a positive dent in each other’s lives and it’s all about basic acts of kindness going a long way you know?

Ok so I'm thinking it's not safe for Danny in his world so clockwork pulls some strings and sets everything up for Danny to be Tim's non identical twin (theyre similar enough to pass) and he just appears in wayne manor right after Bruce gets out of the time stream.

Like I'm talking he has a room that's 'been lived in for years', he has memories of them and growing up with tim, he's acting like nothings new ect.

So he's all like "dad your back!" And they're all looking between tim and his double like "tim??? NOT tim????" And they come to the conclusion that Bruce fucked with the time stream and he spawned in.

They all feel guilty that they 'forgot' him even though they never knew him. Especially Tim, he would feel so bad if there was someone that went through what he did with their parents neglect and they only had each other, but Tim doesn't remember who this is.

He could be fully aware and is pretending so he's safe OR clockwork thought this would be for the best so he altered Danny's memories so he genuinely believes he's Tim's twin.

For the second option I like the ideas that he doesn't remember anything/he doesn't have access to his ghost half (either he has to heal from something his parents did or he can't handle the full power that comes with being ghost king) and he won't unlock his memories/powers till he dies again.

Which if he genuinely believed they were his family, and then they tell him he wasn't real a few days ago, that would probably fuck with his mind.

can we really? because that's not been my experience in this fandom.

western fandom has a consistent problem in overriding other cultures with their own. emphasis on western holidays/traditions, western folklore/stories, western customs, the specific way western cultures engage with queer topics/politics. this happens constantly for all eastern media, but to me it's always seemed particularly egregious for Thai media and esp Thai bl (tbf, this is potentially because it's one of my bigger online spaces while also not being a big space so it's just what I'm seeing more of, but it is so bad). people often push back with either "it's just a joke" or "you can't expect everyone to just know everything about [other culture] just for fanfic/fandom," except that only applies when people have made the effort to learn about that culture. it's not an excuse to ignore it completely.

and what's so mind-boggling to me about moonlight chicken in particular is the constant sectioning of Jim, Wen, and Li Ming into "different generations of queer." They aren't! Jim was running a restaurant while happily in an open queer relationship with his boyfriend, yet the fucking number of times I've had to see "lol internalized homophobia" (do you guys know what internalized homophobia means) or "he's from a different generation of queer where theyre resigned to being queer" (fucking WHAT?!) posts is overwhelming huge to the number of times I've seen posts that acknowledge or engage with moonlight chickens extremely pointed narrative that social acceptance is not enough when the law does not protect queer people's rights and what happened to Jim can still happen to Wen, still happen to Li Ming. (I have seen. 2 posts that engage with it. one of which was mine. I blocked the tag for a good 8 months because it was so overwhelmingly "lol internalized homophobia" posts.)

I genuinely don't mean this comment directly to you. I don't mean this as a "no fun allowed" comment either, but Thai bl fandom, moonlight chicken fandom esp, is so. bad. about ignoring the heavily Thai cultural elements of its narrative that none of the jokes are funny in the larger fandom context.

its so weird seeing posts that mock uncle jim for worrying about li ming's queerness as though his dead boyfriend's parents (legally) stealing his entire life savings and leaving him to manage a restaurant business specifically because gay couples aren't legally recognized as couples wasn't what put him in a cycle of crushing debt and endless poverty in the first place

aone ; waits for you to finish talking. never cuts people off, even when they’re rambling or slow. he’ll just nod and look at you like everything you say matters. he also doesnt stutter, and takes his time to speak. you dont mind it when people stutter, but you convince yourself its because he wants to think out every word he says (to you).

futakuchi ; worst teaser to walk the earth. says “yeah? and what if i did?” and “are ya’ gonna do something about it.” more than he sees his own mother. never oversteps, and knows what specifically to not bring up, but he knows you’ll always do something about it.

koganegawa ; says everything out loud. narrates his entire life and lets people know how he’s thinking, or what he’s doing. you usually find this annoying when other people do it, but somehow hes just funny and oblivious enough for it to cancel out.

ukai ; always smells good. could smoke up a whole room and down a whole bottle of whisky in an afternoon and he’d still smell good. you can smell him even after he’s left a room, but sometimes you think its just a placebo effect. you notice whenever its missing.

takeda ; watches the credit scenes of a movie. will clap, and will talk to other people about it like its just another thing. when people ask why, he says its because ‘someone worked hard on this!’ applies to other things too, but something as small as this gets you everytime.

kiyoko ; remembers everything you say. not in a creepy way, just in a soft, careful way. the kind of person who brings up something you forgot you even told her. you’ll offhandedly mention your favorite flower and a week later she’ll give you one.

yachi ; double checks everything. did you bring your coat? do you have your wallet and keys? did you do the homework?  she’s on it. says “just in case!” with this big worried smile like she can’t help it.

alisa ; takes the best pictures. most of her pictures are candid, ones you think are ugly but she’ll cherish like its made of pure gold. she rarely asks you to pose for a picture, but she always makes sure you look good. you almost never notice when she has her camera out until she tags you in a post later that night.

akane ; always has two extra hair ties. you never notice, because she always has her hair up, until alisa asks for it and you ask her why she has so many. she doesnt answer you, but you find out its because no one ever had hairties strong enough to hold her hair properly, so she makes sure no one else has that problem. not that youlll ever let her know you know this, of course.

konoha ; mimics people without realizing. picks up their slang, their hand gestures, the way they write their &s and ?s. whenever someone brings it up, he pretends not to notice because he’s too embarrassed. 

terushima ; stupidly smart. you hate it, how he’s not a high honors student, but a highest honors student, and has been for years. you never see him study, never see him struggle, and never even hear him talk about school outside of class, but he’s never had anything lower than a 90 on anything.

daisho ; always knows what you mean. when you’re struggling with words, he knows exactly what youre going to say before you even think of it. you usually hate it when other people do it because theyre almost always wrong, but he somehow knows what you mean every single time.

sakusa ; walks on the outside of the sidewalk. doesnt care about the sidewalk rule, doesnt care if the person/people hes walking with are 10x stronger and bigger than him. doesnt mention it, does it naturally, and if you purposely switch it, he’ll switch it back without you even noticing.

komori ; makes a big deal about small wins. big believer in ‘a little is better than nothing���. even if its something as simple like doing your bed or doing the dishes, he’ll grin and congratulate you anyway.

So like I've never been into kpop or celebrity stuff or anything (aka my blorbos are only fictional characters) but youve shown up on my dash a couple times recently and you seem like a chill person to ask so like- What's the like *vibe* with fandoms like these? Like whats the interesting part about these people to u thats enough to make a whole blog about them? Ive heard about people shipping them like theyre characters so it is that?? Is it the people themselves? Is it just the pretty factor? I'm assuming its not just the songs cuz ive seen a lot of fanfics n fandom stuff that are about the *people* instead n its made me really curious cuz i dont think I get it?

well, as someone who’s been in fandoms for real people for like 15 years at this point, i feel pretty qualified to answer this lol. the music is of course a big factor, at least for me. i wouldn’t closely follow anyone if i didn’t love their art. but i do love them as people too.

in the case of kpop, the industry puts a big emphasis on fan interaction and fanservice, and as a result there’s a lot of content that revolves solely around getting to know the idols (variety shows, vlogs) and forming a parasocial bond with them (fancalls, direct messaging, public forums that idols can comment on). which of course can be a bad thing, and kpop fans can get uniquely extreme about it, but my personal philosophy is always to treat artists as human beings and not assume that i know everything, because i obviously don’t.

anyway, with stray kids specifically, i really admire that they’re one of the few self-produced kpop groups and they all seem to have a genuine passion for making music and performing. they have a strong familial bond; they’re all very unique, strong personalities, and yet they come together so beautifully to pursue a common goal. the common goal being making really fucking good music that spans multiple genres.

they’re extremely funny and it’s a riot watching them bounce off each other. they’re literally all weird and insane in the best ways possible. they’re not perfect, they’ve messed up, but i think they’ve demonstrated that they have good hearts and they genuinely care about others. they try their best to make everyone feel welcome in their space, and they have a deep love and appreciation for their fans. and yes, they are outstandingly beautiful and just looking at them is gratifying in and of itself lmao.

in terms of shipping and fanfics, well. stray kids is a goldmine. lots of constant homoerotic tension between various pairings, which of course they play up in a fanservice way, but underlying all the messing around are very real bonds of love. and that’s all in addition to some very intentional and repeated queer-flagging from some members. but like generally they just love each other so much and it’s so palpable in everything they do that it’s just fun to explore the possibilities i guess. i can’t really speak for other idol groups, but that’s the deal with skz.

ultimately, i guess i would say the vibe of stanning idols is just… gushing over vlogs and ig posts and photoshoots and messages and getting really hyped about new music. but also worrying that they’ll fuck up because they’re human. and worrying about their wellbeing because the idol industry and fandoms can be absolutely brutal. and seeing a million fanwars a week about which group charts the best and sells out the most stadiums, but also about even stupider, more inconsequential things. but overall, if you curate your experience, it can be a lot of fun. i hope that answers your questions even a little bit lol, that kind of became me just raving about stray kids.

without a doubt it has taken over our society as a whole and this is for quiet a few reasons, we literally have a holiday about romance, one of the many things moments people experience in high school is taking out their crush to a dance (of course many people take friends and make just as fun if not longer lasting memories), influencers share their lives on the daily, most fans are teens going through puberty so yknow what that means, and hollywood.

the main reason being of course hollywood.

with all of these reasons combined hollywood sees this and basically goes "oh look at all of these opportunities for romance and most importantly drama!!" and then they take it, make a romantic bond, get you attached and then proceed to put you through hell with it getting you addicted to it. but why a romantic bond? why not platonic? because its simple, when tv and stuff started pushing out they wanted to get people heavily attached and they didnt think or care about platonic bonds because why have platonic bonds when you can instantly take it to the much "juicier" step? aka romantic bonds?

now im gonna lump in all of our previous reasons together. its no big surprise that our lives TYPICALLY (most likely not for people on the ace spectrum) are heavily centered around romance and sex and so in order to relate to the MAJORITY (from what large companies can tell) of people they tend to make that platonic bond romantic to get people swooning over it and thinking 'oh thats what i want in a partner'

so we tend to perceive these actions as romantic when in reality... theyre typically not, not unless youre kissing or actively having sex these actions arent all that romantic. even holding hands isnt really that romantic. ive had several friends who desire no romantic relationship with each other hold hands and jokingly press their faces close together as if they were being 'romantic' with each other. ive in fact shared a bed with my friend a few times and found that yeah... theyre just my friend. these actions are not romantic. so why do we think that they are?

hollywood, from our past memories and "experiences" (experiences in quotations because lets be honest... its just movie watching) we see these actions as romantic because theyve been dont with romantic undertones. for example let me put the absolute stupidest thing thats been romanticized.

giving someone your jacket or umbrella when its raining. especially when its friend.

yes. hollywood was romanticized basic human decency towards someone that you care about. im 90% sure that anyone reasing this would gladly give their jacket to their friend if it was raining and they didnt want them to catch a cold, or if they had an extra layer to just simply give them. OR if they had an umbrella they would share.

because thats what you do for someone that you care for

but in hollywood this was romanticized by the enemies to lovers trope or the rivals to lovers or... whatever you want to call it- it was romanticized and soon enough they began doing it with everything. friends to lovers. (i dont know which trope made it romantic first so dont quote me on this the main point is that they made it romantic when the gesture itself is NOT)

point being, like it or not romance is something that was heavily implemented into your mind as a child and will always be there. and its why we cant perceive friends as 'just friends' anymore or whatever youd like to call it. the implication of past experiences with media will always be there and guess what? suck it up. its always going to be there and theres nothing you can do about it.

so yeah. thats why people cant perceive things as just friends and why strong platonic bonds quite literally cant really be written well anymore. unless of course they shove it down your throat with the constant 'oh youre my best friend!' but even then- oops it was romanticized by hollywood...

so thats my take on the whole situation. personally i think you should just let people ship whatever they want as long as its legal lol

a thought about kabru and mithrun and their time in the dungeon. (I love kabumisu but this is more about their canon relationship)

I have seen several people say that they dont think that kabru really cared about or liked mithrun. that he was just doing things cause he had to, etc. but I feel like this ignores something pretty cool about kabru. Kabru always has an inner monologue going on, one that we get to see.

several times when we see kabru doing nice things we can see that his inner monologue doesnt actually match. we see him kindly doing things that actively distress him several times. we as an audience are made very aware when kabru is doing something he doesnt really like.

so what kind of an inner monologue does kabru have when he performs caring tasks for mithrun? does he think about the advantages of having mithrun or the canaries on his side? does he think bitterly of mithrun? does he think about how much he hates this? the worst he thinks is "to think I'd get roped into this for the sake of that lot." and "this isnt seeing to his needs, this is nursing!" pretty early on in their journey together. this is while he is still digesting the full picture of mithruns condition and all the things hes going to need to do, the full weight of the situation now apparent.

after this, all we see is compassion. him thinking he would like to make mithrun something nice to eat, even if it wouldnt matter to him. him empathizing and reflecting on how not having desires would be really rough. him coming to understand where some of mithruns quirks, like his sense of direction, come from.

by the end, he has trusted mithrun enough to tell him about laios, and mithrun has given him all the information he has been searching for for YEARS.

and this is just the dungeon. kabru continues to involve himself with mithrun when its not his problem anymore. when really, he should be doing anything but. and after everything is done, if he truly did not care about mithrun, he has NO reason to do anything he does in chapter 94.

they are FRIENDS okay??? Kabru cares about him. it isnt just obligation. ty.

as far as mithrun goes, he gives kabru information, he asks him what he wants to do with that little smile (doesnt wait for his squad), slaps him out of his panic attack, and then kabru is the person he eventually confides his true desire to.

theyre FRIENDS and Im tired of people acting like they dont even like each other just bc they dont like the ship. you dont have to ship it, but if you think these 2 didnt drastically change each others lives in a positive way and that they dont care about each other...you maybe need to read again.

and also I think a lot of these takes veer on dehumanizing mithrun. like how could kabru even like him or see him as a friend when hes like that. like do yall forget mithrun was busy keeping kabrus ass from getting killed. or the way he perceptively sees straight through kabrus bs every single time until kabru finally tells the truth? I know kabrus confession to laios is a lot more emotionally intense, but laios isnt the only character that forces kabru to be honest.

Since requests are open, here's something I've been thinking about for a while:

At the end of Castlevania (2017-2021), we see Dracula and Lisa are alive. Imagine that while they were travelling (for a longe while, because they wanted to give Alucard space and time to process everything) Alucard and reader (who just so happens to be immortal, though not a vampire (up for you to decide what she is)) got married. Some time later, Dracula and Lisa came to reunite with their son and met his wife (a scholar, like them, humanities oriented, orchestra composer too, perhaps?).

I just love to imagine their interaction, I think Dracula and reader would get along so well😭

Dracula’s heart nearly dropped out of nostalgia at the sight of his castle, lisa gasped at the sight of wandering villagers, some houses near, her baby boy did her justice..

Dracula felt nervous, his voice stammering slightly. “Perhaps— perhaps its best if we go at night.. i would not like to intervene.”

“Well, we are intervening by meeting him..”

It took a while to convince her, she eventually relented, deciding to wait until night.

Around the night.. it wasnt so.. well, expected.

As lisa and dracula stepped into the castle— how? Well, this is dracula’s castle.

There came rushing feet with weapons before they took a pause.

“Adrian!..” lisa exclaimed before trailing off at the sound of the sword clinking to the floor and a loud thud.

You quickly rushed to your husband..

Who fainted.

The two rushed forward as well, catching their son, who fainted in shock, your heart is pounding, despite the situation, thats harmless, you’re still worried about your husband.

“W— who are you?”

“I’m his wife! Who—“ you paused at your sentences, taking in their features, it clicked..

On the other hand, the other two, were in shock.

“We’ll talk about this later! My husband fainted!”

You gently dapped a clean cloth, letting the cloth absorb the sweat on his forehead as he sat, conflicted— confused??— ecstatic???..

“Theyre at the main hall, love..”

“I—..i— i don’t understand..”

Your lips met his temple, sending a gentle calmness through him, his hand automatically held yours.

“Saint germain must have done something.. all we know, this time, its the side of magic than science on the coin.”

He nodded with a soft hum.. still in shock but enough to gather himself.

“I.. dont know what to say..”

“You guys dont have to.. just seeing each other is enough for a conversation to last a millennia, so come..”

He hesitated before slowly getting up, your arm wrapped around his, a sign of reassurance, which helped him relax slightly.

As the two of you stepped into the main hall’s threshold, all of your eyes met, alucard wanted to faint again, his feet moving one step back before your hand placed on his lower back, encouraging him to move, and he did.

Now he is stood infront of his parents, his father..surprisingly the one with glossy eyes, he felt nervous with his father after what had happened.. but eventually you stepped back, giving them time with your hands clasped together.

Your gaze softened at the sight of them hugging snd crying, near they fell to the floor, but some caught themselves.

You heard them murmur shakily some questions, crying statements which you wanted to gold your husband but you stood still, respecting their privacy.

Lisa’s eyes darted at you before questioning her son ‘is this your wife?..’, to which alucard nodded frantically, stumbling up to his feet to take you with him.

You felt like their circle was also gonna make you cry, but you only wanted to cry because your husband found his parents after crying all night in your arms, murmuring ‘mama’s and his father’s.

But you held your guard, wanting to keep a good impression as you kneeled back down with them, it felt like the little circle alucard has always talked about.

Lisa was the first to hug you, you hugged her back, your hands gently brushing off the dirt in her clothes, she noted that.

You shook hands with Dracula, nodding to him in respect, he didnt expect that but he felt like him again..

“Please.. let me take you three to have some tea..” you offered, your husband holding your hand, kissing it while you chuckle softly, you assisted the other’s up.

Under the table, alucard’s trembling hands held yours, you held his with both of your hands, one of yours caressing his wrist to his palm, the one you always do to soothe him, it always worked.

You did not look human, dracula noted after a while of processing.

They finished general topics of catching up, especially lisa asking about how you two met, now then after lisa’s happy rambling about grandchildren, Dracula noted in a low tone but not dangerous, more so curious.

“You arent human, are you?..”

“No, sir.”

“What are you then?..”

You took a deep breath,

“I’m merely a star, i’m forged by not stardusts but stars.”

Dracula’s eyes widen in fascination, so did lisa.

“So, a cosmic being?”

You chuckled and shook your head, “i am one of the stars.. is all.”

For a bit, alucard’s palms loosened after the death grip, signaling relaxation, you always knew how to word things and calm things down, perhaps its a part of your star-like aura?

“Interesting.. while being here, i’ve seen you with books, are you a doctor or somewhat?..”

“I’m a polymath.”

His eyes widened, “a polymath?” Almost as if he spoke of interest, finding someone in common with him, not expecting it to be alucard’s wife.

You grinned slightly, a bit nervous. “Yes..”

He chuckled a breathless laugh. “Its been awhile since i’ve finally met another polymath..”

You exhaled a relaxed sigh. “I hope i do you best, sir.”

“Please, call me vlad.”

You blinked in surprise, not knowing you quickly gained that much privilege, but maybe you being a polymath, and Alucard’s wife was a bonus.

You watched Alucard walk with his mother, smiling at the sight.

“You know.. the talk with him was very long.. i missed him.”

You turned to your side, noticing dracula holding a book, his eyes glued to the sight of his family.

“Well.. i understand how guilt can sometimes influence conversations, but he seemed far relieved to know his family is back than the past, you know.”

He shrugged, closing the book before sliding it back to the other spine’s, aligning them well.

“This is new to me.. i, too, was confused on what happened, but now i know, i suppose.”

You nodded, you turned to him, speaking in a voice everyone would find elegant.

“This is your chance to reunite with your son the way you and him intended, he may be nervous, but deep down, he missed you, ever so deeply.”

his gaze softened before turning his gaze back to the aligned bookshelves, trying to find anything— any mistakes to fix and reslide the books, anything.

“How.. do you know that, then, y/n?”

“he cried at the spot he once killed you on.. that burned carpet..” you trailed off, your heart aching but his father needed to know. “I was the one who insisted to fetch your ring, to hand it back to you, it stayed there for so long, the childhood room was untouched.”

It was a moment of silence before his hand met your shoulder, the ring you fetched glinted on the moonlight and torches.

“I know you will do well for my son.”

you looked up at him, in reverence, then nodded.

“I certainly hope i do, vlad..

or doctor vlad? Mr. Vlad?—“

“Er— vlad would be nice.”

the day you entered my world you changed my entire view on life and myself, you help me find love and happiness in things i never expected and showed me how to appreciate the smallest things in life.

sometimes i wonder if im being selfish, how can i be worthy of all the love and time youve given to me? surely there is someone more deserving, someone who needs everything youve showed me more? i think about what i must have done in a past life to be gifted with you and then i wonder if we are destined.

maybe i dont deserve you in this life, maybe i dont deserve you in a thousand other lifes. but i believe we are meant to be which means for every universe we dont find eachother, we find eachother in a hundred more
