hello friends heres some more artist au ,,, i have A huge infodump under the cut ... u were warned

uhm mumbo is a tattoo artist in this au, hes the towns electrician primarily but he does tattoo work too. hes terrified of needles on his own skin but really enjoys the process of tattooing. i think he mostly does geometric stuff. probably hrm.

gem runs and owns the fishing dock/bait shop. shes born and raised in this town so shes been here her whole life. shes okay at painting but her real passion is with clay- specifically sculpting. shes taking a pottery workshop w grian but she like the freedom sculpting has that the wheel cant really give her...? if that makes sense.. she still likes it. when she paints she gravitates towards gouache and watercolors, she likes the fluidity she can achieve w em. also is very fond of how gouache lets u set it down then return and reactivate it w water again lol

pearl is a relatively successful artist, shes constantly traveling for art shows and also to host workshops/look for inspiration. she used to paint a lot, thats how she kinda got her fame... she used to paint this one girl a lot idk she has curly orange hair and freckles and shes always painted really beautifully. then stuff happened and now pearl mostly sculpts now. she still paints and her paintings are her most popular works but shes more into working w clay.

hm more abt this au, pearl and grian are siblings and both grew up learning oil painting. jimmy is also in this au im still figuring out a role but hes their cousin— basically brother— i was thinking pearls manager js coz i think itd b funny lol.

the setting is a small coastal town hrmm havent thought too much else abt it, was mostly pulling from coastal norcal ish...

in this au scar and grian are really really tight and have been living w each other for like 5/6 ish years. i dont think they officially get tgt... they think theyre woke asf n say they dont like labels (kinda kidding) the real reason is just timing. whenever grian is sick of running circles and works up the courage, scar usually has some complications hes working through and grian feels like hed just be another stressor added to his plate so he just wills it away... then when scar is like Im gonna do it. Im gonna tell him. Grian is experiencing sum kinda dilemma and is rly stressed so then scar is like well it can wait... (this goes on forEver.) whenever they do sync up, usually theyre far too scared about ruining their friendship and having to find a new roommate or something. they both r very important to each other and if bottling up their feelings means they can hold onto each other and keep each other around then thats what theyll do...! yeah theyre doomed🤦‍♂️.... they still basically do romantic activities tgt- they just think its normal coz its them.... also everyone around them thinks theyre secretly dating or smth anyways Yeah this is the au in a nutshell im such a sucker for long term pinning friends to lovers or whatever😭😭😭😭😭...

Since this is kinda exploding everywhere on Twitter and here and there are definitely some confused about what EC is doing lol, I kinda wanted to point out that the Shinra kids discussing digital currency (which we as the audience are well aware is bad for the environment) is essentially the same thing as them discussing the distribution of mako in canon (which we are also aware is bad for the environment), and I think that’s the entire joke here. And frankly, I find it pretty funny.

A buddy on Twitter pointed it out and they basically discuss the flow, tracking, and need for surveillance in the exact way Shinra handles mako. So like. Yeah, they do this in canon too. Matt and Sephiroth discuss efficiency while Angeal mentions keeping a good relationship between the government and companies and the tech itself. This the propaganda-brainwashed Shinra family in a different font.

No, they’re not asshole 4chan cryptobros, but their superiors like Pres. Shinra, Heidegger, Palmer, etc., are definitely the nasty shillers we all despise…like in canon…..and these kiddos are buying into it like the star pupils they are and won’t question it until their 20s when they defect, die, burn out, explode from getting too many emails, set towns on fire, quite their jobs, lose faith in humanity, kill people, and so on. You know. The usual high school to post-university pipeline.

haha finally debuting my magical girl marvels au! i was thinking of a manga cover while making this; i really wanted it to have a kinda hyperpop and sailor moon style.

So! In my version of this AU, the Marvels travel through different dimensions to fight the forces of evil to balance the multiversal scale! They do this, via train! The train is usually a subway, but it magically adapts to the dimensions they are in. (Ex. Submarine Looking Train for a mainly water dimension, an old style train for a dimension with a earlier timeline.)

Billy Batson is a Train Conductor! I based his outfit on those train conductor uniforms and I really like it. His main base powers are, of course, lighting, and the ability to make portals! He uses the portals in his fighting style, dodging with portals instead of blocking attacks. Billy can only teleport to a mirror dimension without the aid of the train, so he actually teleports to the mirror dimension in fights when he dodges, then portals back to the og dimension. The train boosts his powers so his ability to travel to the mirror dimension is enhanced, and he can travel to other dimensions when using the train. (Other then that, its a basic portal power lol)

Mary’s design was inspired by fairy tale princes, which is actually really random but I made it work. I wanted the three of them to be different genres of magical girls, but still fit look like they are in the same style. Her base powers in this AU is basically charisma (yes, literal charms), and lightning. So, her charisma powers are pretty much just that people will be more inclined to do things her way; she lets off an aura of power + confidence that no one can say no to (besides Billy and Freddy, they are immune). She also will look extremely intimidating to people when she wants to. So in a nutshell, her power is to change the way people perceive her, and use that to her advantage. Mary often uses this to do undercover work, or info gathering about the dimension they are in.

Freddy, is a mermaid based magical girl. He can shift between having a mermaid tail and his legs. His base powers are hydrokinesis (ability to control water) and (can you guess it?) lightning! Though not shown here, Freddy actually uses water to float himself around. The water is thinly covered over his body and he uses that to get around without his crutches. He learned how to do this after seeing how he can float in the water when swimming. Freddy doesn’t do this all the time because it requires a lot of control and it can tire himself out. He used to do it all the time, but once in a battle, he shifted all his focus into the fight and lost control of the water that makes him float. Freddy learnt to not completely rely on his powers all the time after that. I’ll go more into this specific event later bc I think this scenario would really impact how Freddy sees his disability, and how he learns to accept it. I imagine this Freddy is more recently disabled and that he still has bitter feelings about it. The thing with Freddy’s dad in the boat still happened (they got attacked by one of Billy’s enemies), and that’s when he got his leg injury. He met Billy that way and got his powers. (Basically just how CM3 got his powers.. idk why im explaining it)

The thing is that I, myself, am not disabled so I need a bit of help understanding what that would be like to accurately write Freddy’s struggles with his disability. 😭

Another thing is that I’m not sure what their hero names would be? I tried doing those precure names like ‘Cure Marvel!’ but that would only work for one of them and I would still need names. Marvel *insert something here* or *something* Marvel is an idea but I wouldn’t know what to put.

But even when it's evident in the first announcement there is a script to follow you see their characters shine through, the playfulness between them, the dynamics, the chemistry, the electricity in the air.

While in the second announcement their demeanor is just totally different. STIFF.

And that's how you have basically the two saying the same thing in both of these announcement only the first one ending up 1:23 minutes long while the second being 1:03 minutes long.

I know that there are those that are angry or frustrated about Tae joining, and although I do get you, seeing that we were basically sold the idea of this being just a Jikook show, then being showcased throughout Summer, Autumn and Winter. I too am struggling to understand why this wasn't part of the initial promotions. Why not tell us Tae is joining for the Jeju trip? Wouldn't have made Jikookers any less excited I would think. Why shoot those two announcements both from Jeju? That snippet we got with the two excited:

So why?

I still don't get it. Not fully. I don't think it's about money or streaming. I actually am leaning towards thinking this was what the two of them wanted. In order to cement the fact that this is THEIR SHOW. Their idea. Their execution. Tae is a visitor, a guest, but it's THEIRS.

Anyway, Tae will be with them in Jeju. And it will be VERY interesting to see how this goes down. JK did not seem to be a happy camper in the teaser. Could be a mood. Could be in reaction to something that went down. We do know that he and Tae have that passive-aggressive energy to their interactions at times. JM's eyeroll in that moment was everything to me, lol.

I think Tom/Voldemort(applying to either of them) deserve to have more fucked up humour in fics since it's basically canon.

Like let's be honest, both of them basically LIVE for weirding people out, you'd either be downright uncomfortable at best spending time with them or psychologically scarred/traumatized at worst. Young Tom was basically the most terrible kid in Wools orphanage with what he did to the rabbit and how he literally made two kids mute from some unnamed noodle incident. It's pretty clear even from the dialogue that he was practically on a powertrip, likely finding it humorous that the other children didn't have the power or magic to defend themselves.

Voldemort on the other hand, is more subtle with displays of psychological torment(when he isn't throwing around crucios) Eg. Calling Peter wormtail and taking numerous jabs at his cowardice and then joking about bellatrixes "highest pleasure" in that scene and then asking draco if he would babysit the cubs... lol

The only reason he doesn't come across like a guy who jokes around often is because most, if not all of his "jokes" are delivered very straightforwardly– and also most of his screentime is basically just torturing people, something he finds fun albeit it doesn't come across as jolly to the audience for obvious reasons

Like he's the type of guy to audibly snort at his own jokes, he probably used to write out edgy ass jokes along with anagrams of his name in that stupid diary of his— he probably thinks of himself as the pinnacle of hilarity along with being the greatest dark wizard who ever lived, hes like that boss who makes lots of cringe jokes and laughs afterwards then your forced to laugh aswell because you don't wanna get fired(do the DES actually find the jokes funny or is it just because it's Voldemort who's telling them? Guess we'll never know)

Also, Voldemort being dragged into a room of people(none of whom he likes) and the first thing he declares out loud is "Casting the impervious curse on everyone here would be deftly simple!" and everyone there just stops and stares at him like "????" And he laughs only to say something like "'Cease being so fretful, I am merely being humorous— unless..........."

Anyways, i could go on and on about scenarios like this LIKE let Tom/Vee be a little silly(murderously) He doesn't have to be serious/dark all the time!!!! Sometimes, he's just a jolly little fella who thinks he's the funniest person in the whole wide world(his murderous streak just adds to it, dont tell him the truth shhhh!)

Ep 15 with Jason not so in nutshell

We start the episode with a conversation with our friends about hobbies. Everyone talks about what they do in their free time. Su can choose three options, the one with martial arts appealed to me the most, because Su has zero reflexes, she's simply the last person who would be good at anything. We find out that there's a swimming competition this weekend, in which Roy is taking part. Together with our friends we decide to come and support him. Then we go back to work, then we go home where we decide to return to our old hobby, which we mentioned earlier. In the morning we go to change into our new outfits and take a bus to the pool where the competition is held. We wait for our friends and go in to take our seats in the stands as cute cheerleaders. The swimmers show up at the pool. But then, something amazing happend. No one expected the Spanish Inquisition! In fact, everyone expected it. Jason shows up, replacing some dude. Our coworkers stomp their feet in anger, bang each other on the head, and all Su wants to do is bang Jason in bed. That's what I think lol. The competition finally begins. It turns out that Roy won! Everyone cheers...! Until it turns out that Roy was disqualified for doping. Immediately, all the friends assume that it was Jason's fault. Su enters the locker room with the intention of searching his locker for evidence of his guilt. Jason looks at her like she's an idiot and lets her search the locker, in the meantime eating eggs. Su finds only more eggs, his everyday basic clothes and rings. Jason laughs at her and suggests that maybe he is responsible for this after all. The girl gets angry and goes back to her friends, but decides to go back to Jason and yell at him and convince him to admit guilt. JJ laughs at her again, and she leaves. When he comes back, we learn from the conversation of the friends that Roy probably unknowingly used doping himself - the previous evening while watching TV he drank 10 energy drinks, which could have affected the test results. Everyone is shocked that he behaved like an idiot, but you know, the power of friendship and such, we forget about everything. Roy reports his suspicions to the judges, Jason approaches Su and says that she should congratulate him and apologize. The girl doesn't want to do that, so Jason suggests that instead, the girl should present his gold medal at the ceremony. Su reluctantly agrees, the friends watch the situation from the stands with a pikachu face. The girl gives Jason the gold medal and he whispers to her that she should kiss him because it won't count. She rolls her eyes and kisses him on the cheek. Thomas almost has a heart attack in the stands, finally someone reacts to Su's specific behavior towards Jason. Thomas knows that he can get out of the Matrix. Good boy. We get illustrations of Jason, on which he looks like a wolf filter from Tik Tok, probably Animals by Maroon 5 is playing in the background. After everything, we go to dinner with friends, we arrange to meet one of them for the evening. My Su wanted to meet Thomas. She went home to get ready but got a text from Jason saying there was a taxi waiting for her outside her house. Su is so horny that she ignores Thomas and his illegal motor racing and goes to dinner with Jason. She hopes to meet him at his apartment, but the taxi stops outside the restaurant. Su and Jason are dressed like homeless people, but they are having a good time. Jason wonders why Su always chooses him instead of doing a little chemistry set with Thomas. The answer is obvious, she wants to get into his pants. Of course she won't say that. That's it. The episode wasn't terrible. The illustrations were cute, the outfits and makeup were cool. Unfortunately, I still don't know what the main plot line is, apart from the fact that Jason is evil and we are just innocent sheep, or as he prefers to call it, kitten.

It's good that they add some hobbies to other characters, not that it will help in any way - no matter what they do, the creators will correct you in the next episode by showing that Jason has more potential - he dances better, organizes his workplace better, swims better, races a motorcycle better (even if he's never done it). It's very frustrating, because it's immediately clear who their favorite is. Other characters in this game have just three random character traits like in the Sims. What can I say, the only right choice for our boy in this game is Lysander lol

You don’t allow space for reason as you have decided to firmly believe in what you want to believe and not what is the truth. Jk and Tae could literally show proof tomorrow of constantly being with other men or women but majority of taekookers will still find a way to argue that.

I always really enjoy the trope of, in a big battle or elaborate plan, things will go bad for the whole extended party at once even though their personal dramatic moments are happening completely apart and unrelated to one another - and, conversely, they'll all rally at the same time, too. It's very basic storytelling, an in-canon "coincidence" of timing required for a compelling rhythm of story, and I enjoy it every time.

I love when characters say shit like this about their friends. I mean, @ Laios don't underestimate yourself, but actually he does mean "smart" in the sense of "unlikely to get manipulated", so in this case he's right.

This is modern leftism in a nutshell. Modern leftism is all about turning off your brain and only reacting based on emotion. It's why they can have so many conflicting beliefs at once. To them, they're not conflicting at all because they feel real in the moment. And the emotional moment is all that matters.

If they feel scared over things that never happen, they don't lose that fear. They just invent new reasons to be scared. You see it with the climate hoax, with Trump, with trans "treatment", with basically everything the left screams about. Their fears are never rational, and they've never based on anything that actually justifies them. The worst case scenario is the only one that exists because it's the one they feel the strongest about. Someone disagrees with them? That makes them angry, so now that person hates them and wants them to die. That leap of logic justifies the anger and also conveniently absolves them of any responsibility to treat that person with respect or restraint. After all, if someone wants you dead, why shouldn't you defend yourself in any way you can? Even with violence.

That's the essence of modern leftism. It's an ideology of toddlers with just enough adult thinking ability to invent justifications for any action those emotions spur them to take.

As for me, isekai—well, to be specific, isekai-romance—is still going strong as my favorite since I discovered it. Glad you noticed the many inspirations/references/classic tropes/clichés that I used, 'cause writing those are the privilege I want to abuse the hell out of when writing my own isekai fiction. If it’s not obvious enough, I even deliberately made Trial Player!Reader aware of the clichés she's living through with direct mentions in-story. And while they serve their due depending on the moments' context (two obvious examples being showing TP!Reader’s inner fangirl and my poor attempt at rom-com XD), I actually made them quite relevant to the story! Say, implications of TP!Reader's personality & how she views everything about her situation, her knowledge & awareness, her thought process & imaginations—maybe even serving as foreshadowing, hints, and or a nod toward her truth, fate, & destiny. 🤫

Good to know you like what’s going on in the story so far. Indeed, there’s more going on with TP!Reader’s ‘connection’ with the Absolute Being, and while I can’t spoil much, one aspect that’s already implied to be playing a part—which I can say for now—is that these two are like reflections in a mirror—same features but also flipped. So, not quite the same but also not quite opposites at the same time. Creator-Mother, Entertainment-Spectator, Indifference-Love—these are just some examples.

Also, you know when Ashborn and Jinwoo go like, “I am you and you are me”? In a rough comparison, the Absolute Being and TP!Reader might go like, “What is beyond the reflective surface? Are we really the same? What of the other glass?” Basically, in a nutshell, I’m giving TP!Reader the amalgamation identity crisis of the big three isekai: reincarnation, transmigration, and summoning—all in one go. LOL😅

Now, while I did say in the past that I already have a rough idea for TP AU's sequel in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok (placeholder name for now: Guide AU), I haven’t looked back and developed it further past a very general synopsis draft. Partly because I’m already so busy with college and writing TP AU, and mostly because I don’t know much about SL: Ragnarok’s story. I’m not motivated enough to read the novel, and while I might be more motivated to read the manhwa, both are still ongoing, and to add to that, I heard that the manhwa diverges from the novel. I just don’t have that much time to catch up. T_T

In conclusion, while I do want to make this story an AU that can be freely and easily imagined with canon, I can’t promise that it’ll be entirely canon-compliant information-wise—especially for details that were elaborated more in SL: Ragnarok. So, I apologize in advance for this, but I feel obliged to advise you to keep your expectations low regarding any connecting-information pertaining to the sequel made in the current TP AU. That said, I’ll still try to make those connections as best as I can, and hopefully, they’ll come out good enough. 🤞

After Damon was shot, how does Jett react to realizing that Damon also got hurt during the accident, & how does he apologize? Does Damon forgive him immediately, or does it take time?

Prefacing with my personal interpretation of how their soulmark works (and a bunch of other stuff) (this ended up 3 paragraphs longer than I intended lol)

I've always been imagining the "shared pain" soulmark as having varied intensity among individual soulmate pairs. Basically, "If person A is in pain, person B feels 80-99% of that pain" because I'd think there would be some dampening due to person B not actually being injured (though I've been writing Jettmon portions as closer to the 99% threshold). However, the pain only subsides if person A does something about it. It's similar with things like illnesses and headaches (but technically worse for the illnesses since, because person B is only feeling the symptoms without actually being sick, they can still get the illness passed to them. Then person B is feeling A's illness on top of their own symptoms)

According to Jett's bio card, the accident was "just over a year ago," meaning he would've been about 19 (which, jesus christ man). And meaning Damon would've been 17 (jesus christ man). Neither of those feel like fun ages to go through that. Honestly feels like a tie when wondering who'd have it worse: Jett has to physically bear the scars of it along with dealing with the paparazzi, and Damon was a literal child who did not sign up for this. Plus in my OG post I mentioned it possibly happening during one of Damon's debates, so there's that too.

And while I mentioned here that there likely have been some bad injuries prior, the accident was definitely the worst. I feel like a year is maybe enough to, if not forgive, let any resentment go, but there's definitely a good amount in those first few months because being in pain sucks and being unable to do anything about it sounds like it sucks harder. But those prior injuries do leave the impression that clearly Damon's soulmate is either in a dangerous career or the clumsiest bastard who ever lived (and a bit more resentment fades when rationalizing that just being a klutz wouldn't be enough in this specific case, as well as remembering that they're also suffering from this).

Once Damon finds out it's Jett, there's the internal realization of "okay, yeah drag racing would explain all of that." And he's kinda just. Waiting for Jett to bring it up because Damon's already dealing with the Eva+Wolfgang situation, he does not want to add more on top of that unless he has to. And Jett's kinda just. Waiting for Damon to bring it up because surely if their soulmark was at a higher intensity he'd say something. Damon had never been seriously injured before so for all Jett knew the soulmark only projected some mild discomfort/pain, Once the Eva situation is mostly resolved it kinda slips from their minds.

At least until Damon gets shot and Jett realizes that, considering how bad that felt for him, his own pain from the accident must've been felt by Damon. And instead of being angry at him for ruining their lives, Damon had just been accepting his dumb requests for thumb wars and such. So in a nutshell, Jett's feeling Pretty Bad™

When he finally gets the chance to apologize once Damon awakens, his sincerity and genuine remorse help make up for him not being very good at wording things. And Damon's already had a year to process, and it already happened and can't be un-happened, and Jett clearly didn't know, so any lingering remnants of anger quietly wither away. There's definitely promises to be more careful once Jett's recovered enough to go back on the track.

To all of them queers who are against other queers: they hate you. They hate us all. Once they're done with one group, they'll come for the other - for yours. So ask yourselves: do you really wanna side with the leopards that will eventually eat your face too, or side with your community, the one that fights for the same cause as you, who wants nothing more than respect and to be seen - just as you?

We're a community, and we should all support and respect each other. Hate thrives when we go against each other. Gays, lesbians, bi/pan, trans, non-binary, ace - we're all so different and we have such different experiences, yet we are one under the flag. We all fight for our rights and to have basic human decency. Be nice, and be kind, and be supportive.

They don't understand us, what we go through, who we are. They say sex makes us human and that we're broken or psychopaths. You're not broken, and you are most definitely human. No matter what they say, don't feel ashamed of staying true to yourself. You're just as loved and just as valid as anyone else.
