See I feel like I should cancel this interview so they have notice ahead of time, but also if something falls through with my job then I absolutely need a backup plan
#the interview is next friday and it’s online so honestly i think giving notice 48+ hours before is enough#like they still have open interview slots next week so i don’t think they’re That busy#but i still want to make sure they know i won’t be showing up#UNLESS of course i still haven’t started work by then. then i will probably do the interview just because#see i don’t Think this job will fall through but also if they ask for references from the caravan park i am so fucked#best case scenario those people will have no record of me and i’ll have to be like ‘yeah i think my previous supervisor left’#worst case scenario they find out i quit in the middle of a shift because my line manager was rude to me one too many times#i mean that Was five years ago so i could definitely argue that i was 22 and stupid and it will never happen again#like back then i didn’t really need that job. it was just something to do until i went back to university#but now i am 27 and i NEED this job and tbh i am willing to put up with any amount of disrespect as long as they don’t actually kill me#my standards have dropped through the floor. as long as they pay me the correct amount of money on time; don’t try to make me do anything#illegal and don’t actually harm my person; i’m fine#idc if my lunch break sandwiches come out of my wages; my lunch break is unpaid; i work long hours and someone calls me a bitch. idc#just pay me and then give me a good reference for the next workplace i apply at because god knows i need one#all i am trying to do here is earn food money and break my habit of getting into screaming arguments with line managers#that is my only goal. being ordered around does not conflict with my goal. etc#so in summary i don’t think i’m going to cancel that interview unless i am timetabled to work next friday lol#stuff just seems to happen to me in employment settings. no one can blame me for wanting a backup#personal

I am once again asking people to shut the fuck up about what people ship.
Yes, even if it makes you 'uncomfy'. Yes, even if you feel it's 'wrong'. Yes, even if you don't understand the appeal. Yes, even if you don't personally see the characters ever liking each other. Yes, even if it's a kink or fetish you don't understand.
Unless an image is of real, human people being harmed or forced into something they did not consent to, or a real, living creature that is not capable of consent, shut your fucking mouth and scroll away.
Yes, even if you think the drawing is 'illegal' (it isn't). Yes, even if you think the person is wrong for drawing it (they're not). Yes, even if you think their 'coping mechanisms are bad' (art therapy is an entirely normal and common practice). Yes, even if it personally triggers you (that is not the responsibility of the artist. It's yours. Block the tags/person.)
Life is full of horrible stuff much more legitimate to getting upset over than a bunch of lines and colors without any actual thoughts or feelings.
Learning to discern fiction from reality is a useful life skill. Start figuring it out now and save yourselves the trouble later on in life.
You are not better than someone else because of the fake morality you harbor over line and color. You're just not. Much like how best selling authors or renowned film makers are not evil for creating media surrounding sensitive topics, your average shipper on Tumblr isn't either.
Your repacked highschool bullying so you can still separate yourselves from the other people in fandom now that it's mainstream and you can't use it as a means of othering anymore is neither cute nor necessary. It doesn't make you a good person to clutch your pearls over a drawing.
If fake people are more important to you than living, breathing artists, it's not the artist's morality you should be questioning. It's yours.
Every time you want to complain or get bent over a fictional ship, take that energy and go donate a dollar to relief for Palestine. At least then your rage farming will make a fucking difference.

I watched this YouTube shorts video which has over 100k likes on it where it basically went "oh the Splatoon fandom is weirdddddd!!! It has weird porn in it guys!!! Isn't that crazy?!?! It's so toxic guys!!! They found ways to weaponise racism guys!! They are so vile about splatfests guys!!!! They are gooning to splatoon characters!!! They are kids!!"
I hate to break it to you dude but.... that's literally every fanbase in existence.
Tumblr media
Every single fandom on planet earth has weird porn in it. Splatoon is no different. Is it fucking weird to goon over the player Inklings and Octolings as they are confirmed to be under 18? YES! VERY VERY WEIRD AND THAT BEHAVIOUR NEEDS TO GET CALLED OUT!!!!!! But a large majority of fans who engage in NSFW content are looking at the Idols and other adult characters, not the literal teenagers. Plus adult Inkling and Octoling ocs do exist, i should know BECAUSE I MADE MY OWN!!!!!
Also do not judge people's fetishes unless it's actively harming someone or it's illegal. That's wrong on so many levels. Stop making people feel guilty about what they are into man. If someone wants to make an NSFW art piece with Marie's feet then I'm not gonna judge them publicly for it. That's straight up rude and the guy in the video was basically doing that by showing some stolen fetishy art and adding an "eww" audio clip on it... Fuck off dude. Leave them alone.
He also got the release year of Splatoon wrong by saying 2013 instead of 2015.... Not the worst mistake but still... Kinda paints a picture on how much he truly cares about this franchise you know?
One of his points can be boiled down to "they are using splatfests as a way to weaponize racism." What the FUCK are you talking about? The last time i remember a Splatfest being toxic was in Splatoon 1 with CALLIE VS MARIE! THAT WAS REALLLLLLLL BAD! Other than that it's been friendly jokes and little jabs at the enemy teams. He fucking used this terrible video as a way to demonstrate his point too....
Tumblr media
Every Splatoon fan on the planet doesn't like that video, It just comes off to me as so disingenuous.
Also fun fact! SPLATOON 1 TO 3 HAD UNDERLYING THEMES ABOUT RACISM WITH THE INKLINGS AND OCTOLINGS!!!!!! Splatoon 1 was about the introduction of that idea and it was very black and white with hints of grayness found in the sunken scrolls. Splatoon 2 was about making it more gray as Callie joined the Octarians and THE ENTIRETY OF OCTO EXPANSION!!!!!!!!!!! Splatoon 3 was the conclusion to that theme with DJ Octavio helping out the NSBS and Octolings co-existing with Inklings peacefully. But did he bring that up? NOPE!!!!!!!
Trying to paint the Splatoon fandom as some "toxic trojan horse" is just... fucking wrong. There are plenty of fandoms out there that are 100x worse than Splatoon's. The Splatoon community is extremely diverse and sure there are issues that need to fixed and yes there is racism. The Splatoon community is leagues above any other shooter game community by far. Play a bunch of quick play matches of Overwatch or TF2 to see what I'm saying. You're gonna be seeing the n word more times than a Quintin Tarantino movie.
Also he talked about peak character design in the Splatoon games, and the one character he mentioned was.... Big Man... The only male Idol and not anyone else. That just seems a bit.... suspicious to me...

y'all are making my blood pressure spike during my fun time so I am gonna do this one time and one time only. some notes.
a "safe space" is a space that is set aside for a community to be amongst like-minded peers with shared experiences and have discussions about the things that affect them away from another group who might harm them. it is not and cannot be a public forum that invites public discussion. that's not what a safe space is.
being a dick on anon only makes you a dick. that's it. there's no other explanation or reasoning. that is across. the. board.
the size of a person's following does not make them more or less of a person than you and it absolutely does not ever make you morally correct for being a complete asshole to them.
you don't know who 95% of people are behind the screen. you don't know their work, their experience, their emotional space, their relationships, whatever. you are seeing the tiniest slice of their life. you don't get to make broad assumptions based on that small slice.
if someone would like to charge money for absolutely anything they want to charge money for, so long as it is not illegal or objectively shitty, it's not your business unless you would like to partake in the thing. that is really all there is to it.
I like to think the content of my character and my actions speak for me, but you can make up whatever narrative you like. I guess. I am really only here to have a good time and be as silly as I feel like. this is my fun time. I plan to keep it that way. I am not here for the whatever vs whatever fan wars and mostly I like to pretend they don't exist. I am not interested.
that's all. there's nothing more to it than that.

I just made a post about the end of pride month. It's July now, so happy disability pride month to my fellow disabled people!
Friendly reminders to able bodied people
Don't tell disabled people how to refer to themselves
Listen to them when and how they refer to their disabilities
You don't need to know why someone is disabled
This includes if they have a service dog, you may ask what tasks the dog performs if you are a business owner. Not what disabilities they have.
Also, in the US there are no "service dog cards/papers"
It's illegal to refuse service to someone because of a disability
If you know someone who is disabled questions are fine as long as you are respectful. Some of us love to educate. (However some aren't things we like to talk about, be respond that)
Slurs are never acceptable if they don't apply to you (you wouldn't use a racial slur don't use one about disabilities either)
Don't make jokes based around disabled people stereotypes. It's not funny.
Not all disabilities are visible!
I know you mean well but you do not know what it feels like, please do not tell disabled people you do.
When we say we are tired and you are also tired, we do not mean the same thing.
Abilism isn't funny, it causes so much harm and discrimination please don't be abilist.
Reminders for my fellow disabled people
You are valid no matter what.
You are allowed to have good days and still be disabled.
You are allowed to have bad days and need extra help or more time to rest.
With that you are allowed to take days to rest.
You know your limits, please follow them and don't harm yourself.
You are not an inconvenience!
Please remember to take your meds, they are important
Don't stop taking your meds without consulting with a doctor (unless they are doing horrible things, even then please contact your provider)
Also doctors who don't listen suck, we've all been there and we feel you.
You are not faking for attention no matter how much your brain tells you that
Sometimes you can't always look on the bright side. It's okay to recognize the negative as long as you don't let that take over.
Asking for help is good and doesn't bother people. And if it does those aren't people you should have in your life.
If a mobility aid will help you then use whatever will help you
Your problems are "bad enough" and valid. Don't compare yourself to other people and if you need help then get it.
You do not need to be absolutely horrible to get help.
If your diagnosis came as relief that is perfectly fine, knowing there's a cause for your problem and now having ways to manage it is wonderful.
If your diagnosis did not come as a relief that is perfectly fine as well. It's terrifying and soul crushing sometimes getting diagnosed and realizing you're going to deal with this forever. You're not alone.
You know your body better than anyone else. Listen to yourself and what your body needs.
You got this, you aren't alone. Mental and physical disabilities suck but be proud of them.
You live with them everyday and you're still here, you're still fighting. You're so strong.

SOME ILLEGIBLE RAMBLES AND REFLECTIONS: GALE AND WYLL AS FORSAKEN CHILDREN
Gale and Wyll share a rather unique element of abuse that I haven't seen discussed yet. Someone's gotta talk about it, might as well be me lol.
I would argue that both Wyll and Gale are being pressured to destroy themselves at the altar of certainty. Wyll pacted with Mizora in the first place because when the cult of Tiamat threatened Baldur's Gate, he was told that destruction and death were inevitable outcomes unless he agreed. Mizora was exploiting fear, self-doubt, and a double-standard in self-worth. Even in the Forgotten Realms I'm pretty sure the future isn't set in stone. There was a definite chance destruction and death could occur due to the cult of Tiamat though, and Wyll was willing to enter an incredibly abusive pact to avoid that possibility. His alternative was to accept that life is struggle and uncertainty by nature, and he does not have total control over outcomes. The idea that his best might not be good enough and others might come to harm was enough to justify self-destruction in Wyll's own mind back then. In scenarios where Wyll ends his pact, it's narratively poetic that Mizora poses the same question. This is a way for audiences to examine whether or not Wyll has changed over the course of his pact, whether he looks at himself and life the way he did originally. Mizora tells him with the same false-pretense of certainty that if he doesn't use her power then his father will die and it will be Wyll's fault for not sacrificing himself in Ulder's name. Having Wyll break the pact feels appropriate to me. Whether he succeeds or fails in saving Ulder, it matters that he makes the attempt as a free man without any guaranteed outcome. If he succeeds, it's an especially good way to spit in the face of Mizora's manipulation. She never knew for sure what tomorrow would bring. She had no right to pretend that she did. Mystra does a similar thing to Gale. Gale might succeed in destroying the Absolute without detonating the orb. He might succeed in retrieving the Crown of Karsus. He might not. Mystra isn't in it for mortals here either way. She wants what she wants for herself when she wants it. And while the scene before the final battle varies depending on choices, I had one where Gale basically started panicking because if he didn't use the orb and the group's efforts failed--he thought that everyone who died to the Absolute and mindflayers would be because of him. He thought it would be cowardice and selfishness not to kill himself. He could have gone up alone, detonated the orb alone, and made CERTAIN nobody died except for him. The alternative was to risk failure for the possibility that he wouldn't need to die too. Like Wyll, Gale was taught not to trust himself. Like Wyll, Gale believes his life and well-being are acceptable prices for 'the greater good'. Like Wyll, Gale is being told that the fault of everyone's suffering if he tries and fails is not the Absolute, not the Emperor, not the Dead Three--but him. His best couldn't overpower those enemies, so it's his fault for letting everyone down. It's his fault for not just killing himself. For Wyll it isn't Mizora's fault if his father dies. It isn't Gortash's faut. Blame falls on him exclusively because he wasn't ready to put himself back into the power of an abuser. The attempt to shift accountability is incredibly dishonest. Both Wyll and Gale are basically being put into the allegory of the foresaken child. For anyone who may not know it, the story goes like this.
There is a perfect, utopian city. No one suffers, no one fights, no disease ravages its streets, no hunger grips its people. And everyone not only lives in peace, but lives in the certainty that their peace will never be broken. There is, however, a price to this. For all the residents of that city to enjoy tranquility a single, innocent child must be sacrificed to endure unimaginable torture. It's because of this child's suffering that everyone else is guaranteed happiness. Is that child's life an acceptable price?
Most people would say it isn't. The allegory exists to illustrate how people might decide to give cruelty and horror a pass.
There is another saying that exists, too. "Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither." That is also what is being demanded of Wyll and Gale--their freedom, their agency, their efforts rejected as inadequate. Only guaranteed outcomes will do according to their abusers... except life has no guarantees.
I would argue Wyll and Gale are both effectively forsaken children, who are being blamed for balking when told to accept their torment for the good of everyone else. Their abusers condemn them for not treating themselves as expendable.
There's a difference between a sacrifice freely made as a last resort when all alternatives are exhausted, and someone making a sacrifice because they regard their own life as cheap or are afraid of failure as a possibility. There's also a huge difference when someone sacrifices themself as their own idea compared to being coerced or manipulated into it. And as a fun personal experience that accidentally illustrated the point. During my first complete play through, it happened that there were two characters in-range of the Netherbrain. One was Karlach, wailing on the thing until it had about twenty HP left. The other was Gale. Gale had no powerful spells left, and no scrolls left. But he had cantrips and he was in-range. The last move in that fight was Gale killing the Netherbrain with shocking grasp. Considering that Gale started the game with basically none of his archwizard spells, that Mystra had no trust in his capabilities and encouraged him to doubt his own capabilities, that Mystra wanted him to kill himself regardless of whether it was necessary simply because it was certain... having Gale win on the reaction cantrip felt like the biggest fuck you he could have given. Could not have asked for things to unfold better than that personally. In any case the idea that Wyll and Gale come to realize they're more capable than they ever gave themselves credit, that they aren't disposable, and that they aren't to blame for the bad actions of other people seems like a key lesson for both of them imo.

Quirks and MHA society
Throughout the manga there is this reoccurring theme of people not being able to use and control their quirks and the quirk system being broken but honestly this plot point never really goes anywhere in my opinion or if it is used it's not used properly and never reaches it's fullest potential.
Like we see people break the law a bunch of times by using their quirks illegally and we see people state that they cannot control their quirks but nothing is done about it. We never see people arrested for quirk use unless said quirk use harms people.
If it's illegal to use your quirk then how is it that you have middle schoolers freely using their quirks in school or how normal members of the public use their quirks? Also what does this mean for people born with a heteromorphic quirk? Is part of the reason they're discriminated because they can't turn if their quirks or is it because so heteromorphic quirks make the user look more alien and less human? The government in MHA doesn't seem to be very strict about quirk use laws but states that it is (hori failing in show don't tell again🤷‍♀️)
Tumblr media
What about people whose quirks are dangerous if they don't release it? What do they do? Do they just have to suffer or does the MHA government have a facility where people can safely release their quirk? This doesn't seem likely considering that izuku, ochako, Katsuki and miriko ran into someone who they(miriko and bakugo)deemed a villain for not being able to control his quirk. This case is treated as a one off incident but it really isn't. If one person has a quirk like that then that means so many other civilians do and they could of been pushed into villainy due to it. Hori establishes that the MHA universe lacks establishments that help people discharge/release or deal with their quirk but he never outright does anything with this plot point (it's mainly used to justify characters actions or villainy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Horikoshi also introduces the half baked idea that quirks can influence ones personality and desires. This idea is introduced mainly in the MVA arc to ig justify characters (like toga and tomuras) actions and behaviours. I think it could of been a good idea if characters end up acting similarly or develop similar traits that come from their quirk however as I mentioned before the idea is half baked. Toga having an interest/craving in blood because thats how her quirk works makes sense but it's not heavily established. When it comes to toga we get mentions of how broken the quirk counselling system is and how instead of helping her to deal with a quirk that makes her have such a strong fascination and affection to blood it only made her suppress the urges until she went off the rails into full insanity. When it comes to tomura this idea is only used as an excuse (almost) for his actions, his quirk is used to demonise him and make him more of this completely psycho villain who loves to destroy things because that's his nature?!? When it really isn't.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quirk counselling is a plot point with so much wasted potential. Like how did quirk counselling work? Was it a legal requirement or was it recommended? Did it actually help some people by helping kids understand their quirks, help them with control, offer any support equipment if needed to deal with the quirk and teach children morals? It seems like people with ordinary common quirks benefit more from the system then people with unique quirks that have unique side effects. We are told that toga's quirk counselling was full of adults not understanding and telling her that she is a weird psycho who is obsessed with blood instead of actually helping her. We see curious herself admit that there are many problems with the quirk counselling system and how it only benefited people with certain types of quirks and how it was basically a place teaching and breeding children to learn "right" and "wrong".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see the quirk counselling system fail but it's never addressed. MHA chapter 22 shows how people with powerful or uncontrollable quirks tend to be failed by the system just like how toga and tomuras were. Eri is a special case you can't even know if she is just being trained or if she attends general counselling because in all truth we aren't told. Eri also faces the same problem where she can't have too much build up for her quirk or it will hurt her so shouldn't MHA dive deeper into the idea of quirk counselling and people not being able to control their quirks. Heck you even have all might state that he has noticed a lot of people can't control their quirks which brings the question is quirk counselling only for young people in elementary school and not for older people because people like midoriya who had a quirk in his teenage years was never forced to do any quirk counselling by the government?!?!?!?
Overall, in my opinion quirks in MHA is a wasted potential of a plot point and topic. MHA fails to truly delve and dig deep into topics like how the government fails in providing help with quirk counselling or establishments that help people deal with their quirks, or how less people know how to control their quirks being a result for the quickly failing system or how badly the law is reinforced . These ideas intertwining with quirk inequality and how it affects peoples day to day life could of all been interesting points to explore.

I have a lot of things to say but I don’t want to be identified, so I’m doing it here. I talk about intrusive thoughts of self-harm and PTSD, just a warning.
-
“Thought crime” isn’t real because it isn’t a crime to be a bad person. We don’t imprison people for being bad people, we imprison them for breaking the law, and morality and legality aren’t always the same thing. Something can be 100% legal, but that doesn’t make you not a shitty person for doing it anyway.
Cheating isn’t illegal in the US unless you’re married (and even then, only 16 states have adultery laws), but I don’t doubt most people would consider habitual cheaters to be awful people, even if they’ve never done prison time for the things they’ve done. You can horribly traumatize someone and still never face punishment for it, because it isn’t a crime, but it is wrong. Crime =/= wrong, and legal =/= right.
It isn’t illegal to be into XYZ thing when you don’t act on it, but that does not mean you aren’t a bad person for engaging with those fetishes anyway. “Thought crime isn’t real” is not a defense in the same way that “well I haven’t gone to jail for cheating on my wife so it’s fine” isn’t a defense. Legality means nothing about your morality or your character. (And that’s not even getting into the huge difference in the law around the world. Something something, western ethnocentrism and our laws being the default when that isn’t true).
People can’t control their intrusive thoughts. People can’t control what turns them on either. But the second it no longer causes you distress or you start engaging with it positively— whether that’s through fantasy or fiction or whatever— it isn’t intrusive anymore, it’s just a thought.
I have PTSD, and I have intrusive thoughts of self-harm sometimes. It scares the living shit out of me, that’s what makes it intrusive. So what do I do when I have those thoughts (as my therapist told me to do)? If I’m driving, I pull over somewhere. If I’m cooking, I turn the burner off and step away. If I’m shaving, I put down my razor. I get away from the thing causing the thoughts, and I come back later when I think I can ignore it a little better. That’s the key part: I ignore it. I don’t normalize the thoughts, because it fundamentally isn’t normal. I don’t find other things I could hypothetically hurt myself with, just to think about it a little more. I don’t find art pieces of fictional characters doing the things I think about, because that only normalizes the thought to me, and that is incredibly dangerous. It takes away the distress, it does not take away the thought. The thought is the root issue, not the distress, because having those kinds of thoughts should be deeply distressing. Anxiety as a feeling is there to tell you that you are in danger. Getting rid of the anxiety doesn’t fix the danger, it just makes you blind to it.
Intrusive thoughts that are sexual in nature and harmful fetishes are the same way. Going from having intrusive thoughts of pedophilia for example to having non-intrusive thoughts of pedophilia changes the context completely, and it is dangerous, just like my thoughts of self-harm. I have a lot of sympathy for those with intrusive thoughts like that, I really do. But I don’t have sympathy for those who are okay with their thoughts. That’s the key difference.

I want to talk about the Pokemon champions. So let’s talk about the Pokemon champions on how well they would drive (family member bonus as well ;) )
Lance: drives a bit over the speed limit , but who doesn’t (at least in my area)? He is efficient at driving. Though, he only drives when he’s forced to. He normally rides on Dragonite to get places. When doing G-men stuff though, he’s reckless and goes way past the speed limit. I mean, have you seen the red gyarados episode? That car almost tipped over. Honestly with how he drives, many of the G Men think he used to be a race car driver. Some of the G Men, who of lower status than Lance, made a bet about it. Lance doesn’t know about it yet is the thing because they don’t want him to tell higher office about it.
Clair: the epitome of road rage. It’s not her fault everyone is stupid. They just turn when it’s not even their right of way. It’s not her fault that that guy crashed into her because she was driving so fast! Even though she drove 65 in a 50 area. Drives like Lance because he taught her, but drives way more recklessly. Puts out the middle finger when slow people are… well, slow. Gives the elder heart attacks all the time.
Wallace: he’s pretty good at driving. He drives a bit slower than the speed limit. Whenever people ride with him, they always complain about how slow he’s going. He has a lot of road rage and talks way too much. This may or may not be the reason why he drives like an old man on a Sunday morning after church.
Steven: takes way too much from his father. Very punctual. Sometimes has road rage, but catches himself. When he first started out, he gave his dad a heart attack though.
Cynthia: ADD driver aka the very opposite me. She does everything under the sun when driving. She does her hair, eats, calls/texts people on the phone, does makeup, etc. She gets distracted a lot. She has so many close calls. So much so that her s/o (for me Steven) just lightly suggests that they drive instead. Cynthia doesn’t have road rage though. She just has a good time. When someone walks up to her about her driving, they immediately stop when they realize who’s driving. They freeze and just nope out of there because no person would square up with a garchomp unless they have a death wish.
Cynthia’s grandma drives like Wallace, but slightly faster. That’s how slow he drives.
Alder: does not drive.
N: refuses to drive because of harmful pollution, and he’s scared of engines. He hates going at high speeds because he doesn’t like to hit any Pokemon. It’s just a bad time for him.
Iris: in the back seat of any driver’s car egging them on to hit anyone she sees. She is a chaotic child. No one can tell me otherwise. When she can drive, she immediately got her license revoked. However she illegally drove anyway. It got so bad that the police called Drayden to pick up his granddaughter.
Drayden: pretty good driver. Has minimal road rage. It’s only when people drive recklessly and put the lives of others is when he rages.
Diantha: always in a rush. She drives way over the speed limit, but everyone else does in Kalos, so she gets a pass. She’s an angel when driving. She knows all the road rules, even the rules that don’t even apply to her region. She knows because if she needs to go to another reason for work reasons, or if she needs to visit her s/o who lives in a different region (Lance for me personally). She’s known to be Little Miss Perfect on the road. She also has to drive Sycamore to the lab ‘cause he caused a gas truck to explode ‘cause he crashed into it.
Kukui (does he count? I’m gonna say he counts): reasonable at best. Burnett drives primarily though.
Hau: way too nervous to drive. Gets a phone and asks Hala to drive for him.
Hala: careful. Not much to say here. You can tell which characters I have the moat brainrot for.
Leon: good driver, terrible at actually going to the proper destination (who could’ve guessed). Sonia is terrible at driving, so she just tells Leon where to go.
Hop: once he does drive, he drives Leon places for his mom and dad.
Geeta: uhh??? She’s too much of an enigma to me.
Nemona: does not have eyes on road. Too focussed on battling. She sees powerful pokemon, battles. Will stop in the middle of the dang street just to battle anyone or anything.
Kieran: pre ogrepon is scared. Post ogrepon, menace on the highway. Carmine has to drive him or else everyone in Blueberry Academy is dead like Lucario in Mystery of Mew.
That’s it. Have a good Pride month.

We gotta be able to talk about certain aspects of our society being harmful, and analyze how that harm works and what would be better etc, without people immediately jumping to thinking just the existence of that discussion is the same as calling for a legislative/carceral response.
The conflation of "this causes problems" with "this should be illegal" causes sooo many issues, especially considering how incredibly biased and harmful existing legal & carceral systems are!!
I actually think cultural conversations about problems is in itself a useful thing. It gives us chances to brainstorm together about how to address those issues, and people just being aware they exist can alter behaviours that contribute to harm!!
But even if there's more than consciousness-raising to be done, that doesn't mean that at any point we need to involve the government!!
Like I am begging people to engage in conversations about harm with something other than "yeah that should be illegal" or (more common) "even mildly criticizing a behavior/etc I enjoy means you're demanding the government step in and persecute me"
Like please can we try to figure things out as communities and movements without constantly trying to make it an issue of what these oppressive governments should do??
As fascists build power worldwide and it's become clear to far more people that our governments do not exist to benefit us as normal, non-rich/powerful people, can we please lay that shit to rest and focus on what WE can do, instead of constantly trying to make every single thing about what should be legal or not??
Even if you believe in your government's ability to make and fairly enforce laws, hopefully you agree that not every harmful behavior should be illegal, and that means we need other ways to address harm!! Which can't happen unless we can TALK about it!!
Also shutting down discussion of something someone thinks is harmful with "it would be fucked up to make that illegal so we shouldn't even talk about it being a problem" is absolutely not helpful, esp when no one else is even talking about making it illegal. If you think it isn't harmful, state your case. But please stop invoking the law when that's not the conversation being had.

It’s the way ARMY would justify anything for BTS (may be not JM, but he’s hella unproblematic any way). Yes it’s a stupid electric kickboard, yes the possibility of him causing a fatal accident is low, but how are you sitting behind your keyboards and saying things like “oh SK is weird why would you book someone for this so silly”, I live in a third world country, you bet your ass I would get booked if I fell on my ass from my little bicycle while being drunk and a police guy spotted me. An electric kickboard can go up to 35 kms away. It is IRRESPONSIBLE period.
Everything is illegal, immoral, wrong and corrupt unless a 875 member does it for army. And then they get pissed when other fandoms don’t call out their idols. Y’all are the same breed.
I mean this is basically how I view it. Cause armys knee jerk reaction to coddle and protect some of the members even when they’re in the wrong is weird. Like nobody is saying to give that man 45 to life, but at least acknowledge that what he did was wrong and potentially harmful. Even if it was just to himself.

Warning I get a bit politically and frustrated I guess.
One important message to you all. Keep your fucking indoors-outdoors beef outside of the adoption groups, post and shelters. I don't care what side you're on, do not bring it up, because by doing that you are actively harming the chances of the kitten/cat being adopted.
Here, let me explain to you a few concepts that so many people apparently can't graspt:
Not everyone can adopt any cat in need they see. That's just not possible.
Just because someone isn't trapping every single cat outdoors they see doesn't mean they're animal abuser or are single handly responsible for ecological damage.
Not every feral cat can be caught and castrated by a random person with no training or equipment.
Cats born into the wild are not homeless. Do not treat them like strays.
A feral cat is an outdoor, free-roaming cat that has never been socialized to humans and is living in a “wild” state. Because they're not socialized to people, feral cats are not adoptable. If you take them to a shelter, they will almost certainly be killed there.
Tumblr media
In the eyes of the law of many countries feral cats born in the wild are not and, by the definition, cannot be homeless as the wilderness is their home. Taking them from their natural habitat and entrapping them in houses is wrong and in same place even illegal.
Feral cats, unlike strays, cannot live a happy life indoors. They often live in groups, called colonies, wherever they can find food. They are happier in their own territory with their colony family.
Stray cats on the other hand were once pets and are lost or abandoned. They will try to make a home near humans in garages, porches or backyards, because they relay on human help.
Not every wild-born kitten will be feral, in fact most won't, and not every feral cat can't be tamed, some can go through process of socialising to make the adoptable. That's not up to you to decided tho, unless you met the cat and know your shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because people where I live (Poland) found this simple concept so hard to understand, animal shelters around me no longer accept cats from private people, only from organisations and authorities, since so many of them were people's outdoors pets and feral cats. This already makes it harder to help cats in need.
But the real problem I have is something that happens more and more nowadays and even happend to my family. A feral cat, who lives in our forest and we're trying to tame, gave birth to 7 kittens on our farm and left them in our care. Only two of 7 were feral and strong enough to live in the wild, so we tried to find homes for the rest. Upon mentioning they were born from a feral living close us we were blocked from every single adoption group. The reason? We apparently were 'abusers and breeders', because we tried to help kittens who would 100% died if left alone, instead of focusing on somehow finding cats that lives somewhere in the giant woods, capturing them with no equipment and driving with them 2h+ to make them go through abortion and castration that most of them probably wouldn't even survive. Yeah.
BTW we never found homes to those kittens, because of crazy indoor cat ladies that would shit on every single post of ours and got us blocked. Obviously we didn't leave the cats alone, considering only one in five feral kittens will live to five months of age. We were forced to travel with them 4 hours and keep them in our small house with 3 other adult cats that were not happy about the situation. Eventually we gave one to my Uncle, one was left at the vet to find home (she did), and the last one stayed.
So, for the love of God, regardless if you think cats should be indoors or outdoors DO NOT FUCKING ARGUE ABOUT IT UNDER SOMEONE "FOR ADOPTION" POSTS. Even if you're right. Do not try to bring feral cats to shelters. Do not make it some random person responsibility to deal with feral cats. If you really care about those outdoors, stray and feral cats then research the topic and try advocating for change with how we handle wild-born kittens and castration of feral cats, because right now, depending on where you live, the authorities will most probably only maybe check on them and give them food.
In case I haven't made it clear, I do not think feral cats should be just left alone, even if they shouldn't be adopted.

@saltydkart-reblogs
And that’s pretty much it, designs under the cut!
JOE:
Tumblr media
The reason Joe dislikes most bird pokemon such as fletchling is because they're always stealing and pecking at the olives he... or well more specifically his company grows.
Speaking of which, they own a large plot of land which is used specifically to grow olive trees, which of course are used to make the olive oil he sells. What? Did you think that the olives come from Joe themselves? Of course not silly, welcome to capitalism.
That being said, Joe DOES know how to garden. When they first started their olive oil company they had to grow their own olive trees. Nowadays, in their spare time, they'll sometimes be found tending to the olive trees in their company's garden.
His crown is personally tailored for Joe and Joe ONLY. Crafted with the shiniest gold and the richest olives, all fit for a king! Somehow it never falls of his head. (Fun fact: the points are made to look like olive oil bottles)
Joe needs glasses but usually wears contacts when in public. Not that they look bad with glasses, it's just a personal choice.
Joe LOVES being involved in... well, anything! As long as it's not weird or sexual or illegal (that last one counts UNLESS it involves scamming others into buying his oil products), he is more than happy to invite himself into whatever is going on around him. What are you going to do? Stop him? Oh please!
HANNAH Ü:
Tumblr media
At the start of her career, she would spend her days doing her own one-man (or.. well... woman) shows at subway stations, telling stories and entertaining other pokemon and people alike while they waited for the next train to arrive.
Her hat and cape are made entirely of salt! She is able to transform her cape and hat into different shapes and usually used this ability of hers to make stuff such as accessories, hats, and props that fit the role she's donning at the time.
Hannah LOVES collecting stickers and often wears them proudly on her body (in her poke form ofc ofc). However, she usually has to get someone else to stick them onto her bc of her lack of actual hands.
Some of her improv roles are inspired by the people she meets while others are inspired by pieces of media she's interested in at the moment.
Will ABSOLUTELY learn a new language if she needs to for a role. Duolingo speedrun world record
MYKYIE:
Tumblr media
As stated previously, Mykyie used to be a circus performer before he quit to pursue his dreams. His most popular act involved him spinning plates on a stick while standing on a ball.
^^^ Because of this, he also has really, REALLY good balance.
Mykyie always keeps his Miku glowsticks on him, even when not attending any of her concerts.
"Anger Point" is basically an uncontrollable form of last resort whenever Mykyie is close to death but can still fight, it usually leads to him attacking whoever or whatever caused him great harm (In the instance of Lark, it was when he crit Mykyie and the ladder's health was extremely low.)
The Miku tattoo on Mykyie's arm was designed by Mykyie himself! However, it was drawn on him by an anonymous underground artist who went by many names to hide his true identity. The name that the artist went by at the time Mykyie got his tattoo was "Cl@ir33"
The cuffs and cape that he wears are... well, WERE, red. An unknown force seems to be slowly turning them into a shade of blue.
And that's all the HCs for now! Next Gijinka batch will consist of GrAce, Braidy, and Christene's
Also here's the posterless version of Joe's Gijinka bio before I go

When antis go on about "writing fictional problematic ships will ruin the young impressionable minds" i just dont take them seriously.
1. theres a certain assumption that impressionable people will only copy fictional media and that the impressionable person will seek out taboo themes within that fictional media instead of avoiding it.
2. everyone has someone around them that they'll copy, someone that will leave a sort of 'influence' on that persons mind before they even can read, even if its just a passerby with a simple comment. that can stick in someones mind and it can be useless or useful, harmful or helpful. fiction is not the only way for impressionable people to be influenced by bad things
3. i feel like there's this idea that the people around the impressionable person are blank slates who showcase no opinions, no emotions or no physical reaction to anything and does not speak about anything regarding emotions, boundaries, relationships etc so the impressionable person is not able to get even a grasp from whats right or wrong unless it's from the internet
so what im curious about is why do the fandom wank go full force with fanfics / fanart and not touch upon about how irl people can fuck you up with how you view the world or even just share resources on healthy relationships, how to enforce boundaries etc or go after any real people for that matter who promote bad shit like those 'self help gurus' that spread dangerous misinformation and dangerous ideas (like the dating courses that say shit like if a woman says no shes playing hard to get). obviously i dont think they should be harassed but it definitely should be talked about if antis were really so concerned about peoples safety
i personally have the assumption they only value a fictional character over actual children, not only because their reasonings for how fanfic is 'normalising' shit which is fucking stupid but the first thing shouldn't be 'Fiction is at fault' when talking about kids (who are not the most reading inclined demographic and not the target audience for more graphic works that *might* influence them) it should be more 'What are kids being taught or why are they not being taught this' ,
for example why aren't kids being taught how to make sure to place boundaries, why do they not know whats a healthy relationship, why are they not being taught about what is and isnt illegal and are they being taught how to be safe etc.
the biggest part of peoples lives are school, family and friends. not the random ass fanfic authors and fanartists who just like being creative.
sorry its so long, needed this off my chest

Wounded | Angela Lopez | The Rookie
Tumblr media
Despite it going against at least fifty rules, Angela couldn’t help herself. Sure it wasn’t illegal or anything but it just felt wrong. Grey had gone one hundred and one times about fraternising with people within the department, let alone with people within the precinct but she couldn't help herself. God, she really wished she had listened.
Of course, deep down she knew that it wasn’t her fault but that knowledge didn't stop the guilt from rising up every chance it got, haunting her like a ghost. Although she knew that wasn’t the only thing haunting her, the image of her wife, laid right in front of her so still that Angela almost thought that she was asleep, or she would have if she wasn’t drenched in her own blood.
The bullet wound embedded in Detective (Y/N) (L/N)’s side plagued Angela’s thoughts, both waking and asleep. Every time she closed her eyes she saw it. Every moment of silence all she could hear was her wife’s cries of agony, begging for someone to make it stop. Every peaceful moment Lopez had was burdened by the memory that she was powerless to help (Y/N) in the moment she needed her most.
She had fundamentally failed her.
The universe had chosen them to come together.
(Y/N) had moved to the Mid-Wilshire precinct from Hollywood when her patrol partner had passed away in the line of duty. She was up for promotion, the detectives in her department had given her the tap pretty early into her career. The move made sense, she would get a fresh start, rebuild the confidence she had lost whilst not being tied down as the officer who shouldn’t have survived.
If only she had known that title would come back and follow her with a vengeance.
Their relationship blossomed quickly after they had met. Initially they had sworn themselves to secrecy, knowing how much grief they could have been subjected to but it didn’t take long for their colleagues to learn about their relationship. Grey, after a lot of convincing (and some begging on (Y/N)’ end)  had signed them both off to work in the same station, as long as Lopez never came directly under (Y/N)’ command. Romantic relationships had a lot more protections than most others, especially in police work.
Lopez and (L/N) tended to move in sync, knowing what the other needs without even asking. When one moves, so does the other, like magnets. The benefits of having a pair like them was exceptional, until one would fall. So Lopez and (L/N) were split up, rarely working together unless it was the last option available. The liability of having one of them injured whilst the other was near was far too high. It wasn't worth the risk.
Angela thought the rules were a load of shit.
It was only when Angela saw (Y/N) lying there, bleeding out, did she truly realise why the rules were the way they were, why they were so strict, and why she shouldn't have been on that operation that day.
It was her ignorance that had caused Jule to turn around and move towards her, trying to protect Angela from harm, subsequently fating herself to the suffering intended for Lopez.
—----
The hospital was cold.
The sterile white walls pressed into Angela as she sat in the waiting room, Bradford and Grey by her side as they waited for any news on (Y/N)’ condition. The hustle and bustle of doctors, nurses, and patients alike barely registered in Lopez’s mind as she sat in the far to firm chair, staring at the floor. She had counted the floor tiles in the room six times before she registered that Tim had stepped out to get the three of them coffee.
She didn’t know how long she sat there, watching the world go by. It simultaneously felt like seconds and decades. She watched as families joined in her waiting and then left again. She listened to their cries of joy and the wails of anguish. All of the chatter and noise eventually fell into a quiet hum in the back of her mind as she counted the tiles on the floor once more.
It was the gentle tap of Sargent Grey that brought her crashing back to reality again. She snapped her head up at him, before searching around the room to see another surgeon standing at the doorway, a char in hand and a solemn look adorning his face.
“Family of (Y/N) (L/N)?” The surgeon called out again. Angela shot up from her seat at an almost inhuman speed. She swallowed down her nervousness as she approached him, now was not the time to be afraid, not when she could lose anything. She could be afraid in private.
“Yes,” she croaked out, wincing at how hoarse her voice sounded. Quickly, she coughed to clear her throat, “that’s me.”
“There were some complications during surgery. Ms. (L/N) had some severe internal bleeding that was not caught until later in the process and by that time it-”
The surgeon's voice droned out of Angela’s mind, becoming another noise in the background as she tried to process the words. She was no doctor but she knew that internal bleeding was never good. And with all the blood she had lost even before she had gotten to the hospital.
Every single possibility rushed through her mind as she fruitlessly tried to stabilise her breathing. This couldn’t be happening, not now. Not to her. The guilt sprung forth in her mind tenfold, Angela knew it should be her in that position, not her (Y/N). Anyone but her (Y/N).
“Ms. Lopez. Do you understand what I am saying?”
For the second time in five minutes, Angela snapped back into reality, this time she was hyper focussed on the surgeon in front of her.
“What?” she said, her voice still meek.
“Ms. (L/N) is currently in recovery in the ICU.” The surgeon looked down at the officer, seemingly annoyed by her lack of presence when he spoke the first time, “she is ot conscious and due to the numerous complications, we do not have an estimate as to when she will wake up; if she will even wake up.”
“But she’s alive?”
“Yes, you can go up and see her shortly. The nurses are just cleaning her up from the surgery.”
Angela let out a breath she didn't know that she was holding at the doctor's words. She was alive. (Y/N) had made it through the surgery and she was alive. Angela could keep hoping and praying for her recovery because there was a chance that she could recover. There was a chance that she would wake up, that she would heal, that she would go home. There was a chance that she would live.
(Y/N) survived and now she had a chance, and Anegla knew that was enough.

How loose was Duane in private with his in-laws, considering he was willing to use an illegal drug?
He tried to be the model son-in-law, of course. But you can only keep up that act for so long when you live with someone. There was unavoidable tension, especially with Orlina. Orlina's lived through some messed up stuff and it's made her hyper aware of any vulnerabilities she feels can come back to harm her family. So everyone needs to be as perfect as possible. This'll actually get explored later on, she's not your typical bitchy old mother-in-law; or at least, there are reasons for the way she is.
Leysa's dad was just checked-out most of the time. Unless it was to do with one of his clients, he had no fucks left to give.
