Then, the heavy footsteps came to a halt. “Well…” The old man said, eyeing him trapped between the bars, “That was… unfortunate…” Buddy swallowed. Their gaze was paralyzing. His gut twisted in fear and every nerve in his body told him to run, get out, escape. But this shouldn’t be new. It wasn’t like he hadn’t incurred the old man’s cold rage before. It’s just going to be like last time, and the time before that, and the other times that came before that.

How long has it been since he first tried to escape?

The elder grabbed him by the hem of his ragged old shirt, his grip slipped from the cold metal bars of the window. He felt the heat of the sun leave his skin as he let go, sinking into the floorboards, and taking one last look at the sky. The real one.

”Now… what should we do with you?” The fingers on the back of his neck grip harder, and he can faintly feel the bruises all over his body, the cold, wet, and dusty floor of the solitary confinement room, and the scrapes of the chain on his wrists.

Ashlyn watched as Taylor paced back and forth, nearly wearing a hole into the carpet.

Eventually Taylor broke as she turned to them, "We-we can't just... sit here and wait! And not know if he's going to be okay! I can't... I-" her eyes found Ashyln's, "Please, he... none of us have ever gotten that injured and- we... what if he's still alive?"

Tears were streaming down Taylor's face as Ashlyn watched her, "Ashlyn, please. I can't lose him," her voice broke halfway through.

Silently Ashlyn walked over and wrapped her arms around Taylor, she didn't trust her own voice not to break. Slowly the others moved closer and also wrapped Taylor up.

Wouldn't it have been great if they ended up in a game of Whose Life Sucks More? It would have been...well, depressing as shit--but I think it might have been good for them.

So, I'm working on my first ever Webtoon and suddenly realized that I can have as much whump and angsty backstories as I can....... Who in the right mind allowed me to have so much power 👁👄👁

Then, again, I'm only working on the first part of chapter 1, so we are so far away from real whump and character development😭🥲

Will probably do shameful self-promotion later when there are at least a few chapters done.......

<33 does it ring a bell? (To all who knows; pure agony awaits this man <33.) It's going to be a multi-chapter :DD about 8 chapters are already fully plotted and there's more to come.

mainly the "taking on another's injuries to heal them" may I recommend Death: Rescheduled on Webtoon? it's a fun read, though I will warn you that there is a LOT of gore. not hyper realistic, but still. there is also themes of child abuse/neglect in the second season.

the whole theme of the webtoon is being able to kill anyone for any reason, once a year. You only get one kill a year.

I'm explaining this horribly, and I hope you get the idea
