Writing Prompt:
Your journey has left you exhausted, dragging your feet with every step. After countless battles won and lost, broken and bloody, you finally found it. The last living dragon ever. Only it's smaller than you expected.

The way that I ABSOLUTELY HATE Izzy at the first season, to see myself on the character, to VIOLENTLY ACCEPT his development and grow at this season are my 'healing process to forgive myself and take care of me' were things that I wasn't expecting over a queer pirates comedy show for sure

End of the year kick, week two

When not writing is also writing.
Hello writerly friends!
I am currently on vacation, driving up north, over the polar circle, to watch the northern lights. That meant driving for 8, 9 and 10 hours each day for three days. Of course I didn't write during that time. But the great thing about our choice of creativity is that even not writing can still be writing.
While I looked into the darkness, because after four in the afternoon it's pitch dark up here in the North, I was thinking about my characters and made up scenes. I thought of descriptions, how to describe the darkness, the mystery outside, and how to paint the vividness of the white and green northern lights swinging like curtains in the sky.
While we listened to old radio crime shows, I got inspired by the structure of those stories, how the characters were introduced and wondered how the cases would resolve. Listening to the radio, the foreign language, its cadence and melody, made me think of alien languages and how cultures would communicate on distant space stations.
Even when we are not writing, our imagination never stops. Everything we see, hear, feel, and taste can inspire us. Some little thing can be the spark for a new story, for an image that starts a new epic or short story.
Don't be frustrated if you can't find time to write as often as you would like. Your imagination still works for you and with you. Dare to let it meander, let it come up with crazy things, and then, when you find that slice of time again, start writing.

i'm so glad goncharov happened when it did, right before prolific public use of AI. that was pure honest gaslighting straight from the heart. real human whimsicality and trickery thru blood sweat and tears. we were a family. and we all gonched, together. you cant replicate that with any machine.

Two lovers have reincarnated throughout history, destined to find each other and fall in love all over again. There’s also this third guy that reincarnates alongside them… we don’t really know what he does.

speculative fiction writers i am going to give you a really urgent piece of advice: don't say numbers. don't give your readers any numbers. how heavy is the sword? lots. how old is that city? plenty. how big is the fort? massive. how fast is the spaceship? not very, it's secondhand.
the minute you say a number your readers can check your math and you cannot do math better than your most autistic critic. i guarantee. don't let your readers do any math. when did something happen? awhile ago. how many bullets can that gun fire? trick question, it shoots lasers, and it shoots em HARD.
you are lying to people for fun. if you let them do math at you the lie collapses and it's no fun anymore.

please i love you i'm begging you bring back suspension of disbelief bring back trusting the audience like. i cannot handle any more dialogue that sounds like a legal document. "hello, i am here to talk to you about the incident from a few minutes ago, because i feel you might be unwell, and i am invested in your personal wellbeing." "thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!
do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.
Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.
I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!
