Damn a lot of people (including me a day ago) turn a blind eye to the White Knight series asĀ ājust a sane Jokerā story, but having binged it in a day I can safely say IāM HOOKED.Ā
Not to mention the absolute masterful redesigns and appearances of Batās rogues (even if they donāt really do too much on their own in the story). From big names like Mad Hatter (who surprisingly plays a big part in the story as a whole), Scarecrow (who ALWAYS has banger designs every time we see him), Riddler, Killer Croc & Ivy to much lesser known ones like Baby Doll & Roxy Rocket (my reaction to seeing her included anywhere is an exaggerated regency swoon) to even fully new creations like the Producer & Starlet, who I would kill to see more of.
Please give White Knight a chance, the designs of characters, the dynamics of the main cast & the story you will undoubtedly fall in love with. But the little moments in the story are the ones that really tug at your hearstrings... and hey if nothing that i pointed out resonates with you, at least the art is spectacular.

seeing my folklore inspire such great pieces is actually healing my soul
these foggy rainy moody days have me nostalgic for dark fairytale vibes.
this piece was painted digitally in 2013, for Rose Bailey's collection of short stories, The Sugar House.
that looming Baba Yaga house has me itching to draw more huts on legs in the future

It has been proven time & time again, within both Marvel & DC, that embracing the zaniness of old/obscure characters works best instead of a boring modern reinterpretation, most recently with DCās Lord Death Man, Polka-Dot Man & Kite-Man.

damn DC took a long look at all the batboys and were like:
āshould he go for the badass assassin, mentored by their lore-established, distant parental figure or the unstable powerhouse who can destroy him with a flick of the wrist & literally melt him with a lookā
and we fell for it every. single. time.
