No thoughts, just Our Life Swap AU.

A couple of days ago someone requested a swap AU in which Baxter is MC's neighbor, Cove is the friend who lives in the city and Derek is the boy who stays for the summer and I have not been the same since.

Here is the first thing I wrote about it, and here is another!

"Do you know what RV stands for?"

"Yes, Baxter."

"I believe you may think you do -- a common misunderstanding is that it stands for 'recreational vehicle.' In reality --"

"Shut it, little boy," Liz called down from the loft.

You smiled at Baxter, and he returned it. You were in an RV that your moms had rented, headed for a quick camping trip to Redwood National Park. You and your best friend were sitting on the couch in the little living area of the vehicle while your moms were up front, taking turns driving.

Baxter had been making up stories to pass the time, and it seemed that Liz had heard one too many.

"My apologies, Elizabeth," he called up to her. "I forgot you don't care for whimsy or fun anymore."

"Why are you even here?" she replied.

He had been in good spirits, chatting away, but that seemed to have brought him down. He shot a quick smile at you, then looked away.

Your parents had invited him along -- after five years of the two of you being nearly inseparable, he was often invited to family outings. Your moms always made sure to include him too because his own parents weren't the kindest people.

At first, Baxter's parents had refused. They didn't like your moms, for some reason you'd never been able to figure out. Luckily, a business trip came up for his father and they decided to give in to his relentless requests to accompany you, knowing that their only child could make things difficult if he wanted. It was easier for them not to deal with him on the trip.

Their loss, you thought.

Before he could get too lost in thought, you leaned over and nudged his shoulder. He nudged you back, a smirk reappearing.

"Don't mind Liz," you told him quietly. "You're here because you belong here."

His smirk turned into a full-on beam.

That night, you'd arrived to your camping spot at the park, but it was too dark to explore. But the next morning, bright and early, the five of you went out to see the sights.

Your moms led the easy hike on one of the trails, and Liz wandered behind them. You and Baxter brought up the rear.

"This is amazing," he said in genuine awe, looking up at the trees. Every once in a while, he would pull his attention away from the scenery to look at you warmly.

"Was it like this in your old town?" you asked. You knew he'd lived in Oregon before moving to Sunset Bird, and he'd talked about missing the trees.

"No, not quite," he answered. "There were forests, but nothing like this."

Before you could say anything else, Liz fell back to walk in line with you. You gave a preemptive eyeroll.

"Is this up to your standards, rich boy?" she teased.

"I'm having a very nice time," he replied. And it was true -- too nice a time to start his usual bickering with your sister.

"Good," she said. "Because once you officially join the family, this is the kind of sickening wholesomeness you're in for."

"I could think of worse fates," he told her, shooting you a glance.

You'd been nursing a crush on Baxter for a while now, and comments like that made you think sometimes that he had a crush on you, too. It was almost enough to make you say something, but your sister's teasing would really turn relentless then.

Liz hung back, teasing you for a while longer before getting bored and going back up to your moms. After a few hours, with a lunch break tossed in, the hike was over and you were back at the RV.

Your sister promptly went inside and shut the door behind her. Your moms laughed, but then Baxter approached them.

"I was wondering if it would be all right if we went on another short walk," he said, looking back at you. "Not too far, and I'll be sure we're back well before dark."

They had a moment of silent communication, then you saw your ma give a slight nod.

"All right, but not too far," Mom said. "And stay on the trail."

"Absolutely," Baxter said. He held his arm out to you, and you took it. Then you were off.

"Why did you want to come back out?" you asked, trying to sound casual even though you were buzzing with excitement. You tried to keep the hand that held onto his arm steady.

"I thought it was too nice of a day to end so quickly," he said. "I wanted more time out here. More time with you."

You blushed, and he smiled fondly at you.

"Why do you say stuff like that?" you asked before you could reconsider.

"Why wouldn't I?" He seemed genuinely confused. "It's lovely here. You're a lovely person." He leaned closer to your ear and said, "My favorite person, actually."

Your cheeks grew hotter.

Baxter laughed, then said, "You're also adorable."

It was a little forward, even for him, so you decided to take the opportunity to bring up something you'd been wondering about for a while.

"Can I ask you something?" you began.

"Always."

"Why haven't you dated anyone?"

He didn't say anything right away, and you didn't have the nerve to look at him. But out of the corner of your eye, you thought you saw his own cheeks turning pink.

"I was just wondering," you added, "since you sort of flirt with everybody all the time."

"Do I?" he asked with a laugh. You did give him a look then, and he said, "I don't actually, you know. Not at school."

"Really?"

"Really."

It was your turn to pause. He went to a private school while you went to the public one, but you'd just assumed he was the same way with everyone else that he was with you.

"I'm polite," he explained. "I try to be friendly. I can't help being a little bold. But I don't ... you're the only one who gets this version of me."

You were trying to figure out how to respond, but nothing came. Your thoughts were racing with this new revelation, and before you could say anything, he stopped.

"It'll be getting dark soon," he said. "Time to go."

Baxter turned around, making a show out of offering you his other arm, and you laughed as you took it. Perhaps sensing the tailspin he'd put you in, he went back to joking around for the rest of the walk back to the campsite.

After a fun evening with your family around the campfire, it was time for bed. Your moms went back to the bedroom, Liz stretched out on the couch and Baxter spread out his sleeping bag on the floor while you climbed up in the loft.

You tried to go to sleep, but your thoughts were still racing over everything Baxter had said. After a while, when you heard Liz's soft snores get into a steady rhythm, you peeked over the edge of the loft to see what your friend was doing.

You knew he was a night owl, and so you weren't surprised to see him lying on his stomach, reading a book he'd brought with him in the bright moonlight that filtered in through the windows. But you didn't expect him to look up at you just as you'd started watching him.

"Go to sleep," he mouthed at you, grinning.

"You first," you mouthed back.

He gracefully pulled himself out of his sleeping bag and slinked over to the ladder to the loft. He climbed it so that he was eye level with you, and said, "Can't sleep?"

"Doesn't seem so."

"Would you like some company?"

You gave him a confused look. He smiled softly and told you, "I'll tell you a bedtime story."

Intrigued, you scooted back against the wall, making room for him. He climbed under the blankets, laid out on his side, folding his arm under his head for a pillow, and started telling his story.

It was complete nonsense, as most of his stories were. There was something about mountain lions, and Bigfoot made an appearance. But as he went on, trying his best to make you laugh, he kept inching closer to you. A few times you were bold enough to do the same, and by the end you were pressed close.

"Can you sleep now?" he asked, his face just inches from yours.

"I can try."

Camp trip! (Lambert X Aiden modern AU)

Gathering all the supplies, they headed off to a clearing in the woods. Their boots shuffled through the grass, and as they went, more sounds of nature could be heard. Aiden could make out squirrels chattering, leaves crunching, birds singing, insects churring, and the rustling of bushes. Ferns fanned out beautifully, accompanying the dense trees along the unpaved path. Aiden does his best not to get distracted while carrying the sizable cooler with Lambert. Lil' Bleater kept getting too close to Aiden, trying to nibble on his shirt while he wasn't looking. Eskel had to move her away often, but his shirt had little goat-teeth marks anyway.

"It's a tradition at this point," Lambert says with a sly expression.

"It was yours anyway," Aiden retorted. It was a lie, but Lambert still scrunched his face.

Once they reach the halfway point, the sun begins going down. Jaskier endeavored to find words that rhyme with silver with Ciri, but he accidentally put his rhyme scheme in a corner. Their freestyle song turned into an awkward pause, and Geralt did his best to repress his grin. All the white-haired brother could do was readjust the strap of Ciri's backpack to fit around his buff shoulder.

"Maybe liver? No, that doesn't sound right," Jaskier mused.

"Chilver!" Ciri beams.

"Oh, yes! Chilver," the musician continues with his song.

Eskel had to roll a fallen tree with Geralt out of the way of the merry crew. The blizzard that came this year killed the weaker trees in the forest.

They reached another stopping point to trade off duties. It was Lambert's turn to be on Ciri duty; Jaskier and Eskel carried over the cooler. Aiden lost track of what Jaskier was talking about at this point; it was like white noise now. Ciri watched birds hop around in a bush. Aiden had joined her in staring.

"Wanna freak out Uncle Lambert?" She spoke in a hushed tone.

"Yes." A wicked smile develops on Aiden's face.

Ciri reached out to the bushes, scaring away the birds. A Grand-Daddy Long-Legs was sheltered in the underbrush, using the leaves as a hiding spot. "You won't hurt them, right?" she says as she freezes.

"No, I swear," Aiden says, nodding.

"Here, they don't bite." She puts the spider in Aiden's hand. He let it travel the length of his lower arm, coaching it to the other hand when it tried to move too far up.

"What are you doing?" Lambert walked over to get a look. "Eck! Put that down, you fucker." Lambert shrinks away

Aiden watches the spider dance on his fingers. "I think it's neat."

"Ewww," groans the shorter man.

Aiden decides to put him in a bush free of birds, and it disappears into the woodland. Lambert leers at him from afar, barely concealed behind Geralt. "Wait till he learns Cat likes eating spiders."

"He fucking what?" Lambert makes a disgusted face.

They stop in their tracks as they leave the tree line. Finally, they reached the lake when the sun was almost gone. Geralt's hands felt along the rough tree bark, his fingers memorizing the texture.

The sun had gone down by now, causing a lovely warm gradient. The lake glimmered beautifully in the remaining light, its mass spanning from the muddy shore to a small island. Gentle sounds of nature keep them company; no wonder why Geralt liked this. The sun-kissed Aiden's skin felt fine in the heat, despite the uncomfortable sweat forming.

"I'll bring the packs over, then get you," Eskel said.

Eskel and Jaskier placed the cooler in the boat and rested on the shore. Lil' Bleater hopped in the boat without hesitation, a real ride-or-die goat. From what Lambert stated about how well Lil' Bleater is taken care of, it made sense.

Ciri was preoccupied with identifying the ducks on the lake's surface. Her dad waited patiently for her answer.

Ciri looked over to Geralt and then said, "Mallard?"

Geralt nods and says, "Good job, cub."

It's nice to see such a good father. Aiden leaned against a tree, observing the wholesome scene.

"Checking out my brother?" Lambert rolls his eyes.

"Jealous, hm?" Aiden pokes the tip of his nose. "Don't worry, you'll get my attention."

Lambert scrunches his nose, shooing his finger away.

"This place is beautiful, habibi," Aiden laughs, allowing Lambert to take up the free space beside him.

Lambert hums, tilting slightly toward him. "Yeah, hopefully, a boat doesn't tip over this year."

Geralt turned to look over at Lambert, giving him the driest look possible.

"It was an accident," Lambert huffed. Aiden wasn't sure what that meant, but there was definitely a story there.

Aiden bites his lip before saying, "Lamb, there's something I should tell you."

"What?"

"I can't swim."

"You can't swim."

"Nope." Aiden had an uneasy smile.

"No one taught you?"

"Nope."

"Well, you're in luck. Lambert was actually on the swim team in high school. He is damn good at it too," Geralt said, walking with Ciri from the shore.

Sweet gods, apparently he was dating a man with a million talents. "Oh~, I have a handsome lifeguard as my boyfriend," Aiden coos.

Jaskier snorts at that, breaking Geralt's composure.

Once Eskel returned with the other boat in tow, the others got a move on. Ciri was helped into the boat by Eskel. Aiden nervously looked at the boat he was expected to get in, he was sure Lambert wouldn't drown him on purpose.

"Relax, Kitten. You'll be fine," Lambert said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Geralt and Jaskier were boarding the other boat; Jaskier made a surprised expression at the nickname, then quickly went back to the task at hand.

"Don't be worried. I'm sure Lambert doesn't wanna lose you. Where would he find another free chef?" Eskel kids.

With impressive aim, Lambert hit Eskel square on the forehead with his reusable plastic water bottle. Eskel chuckles, taking it like a champ.

He'll have to challenge Lambert to knife throwing sometime, and possibly have competition aside from Gaetan.

"Maybe Lambert can teach you to swim?" Ciri added. She peeks over at the man in question.

Aiden sensed his embarrassment returning.

Lambert snorts, "That sounds like a wonderful idea."

The tanner man stopped him from shrinking into himself. Hopefully, Lambert won't try to get him back for the spider thing. The men were left on the dock to wait for Eskel. Lambert looked over at him before reaching out to hold Aiden's hand. Even at that dinner, Lambert was anxious about showing him love in front of his family. He knows by now that it's not because he's ashamed of being with a man. This was something he was trained to hide, much like Aiden himself.

The taller man locked his hand firmly around Lambert's, both staring into the lake.

"Thanks for coming here, Aiden."

Aiden brings him closer, kissing him. "Sorry about being late, work got in the way... And I was worried."

"Worried?"

"I want your family to like me, I know how much this means to you."

Lambert sets a hand on the back of his neck, dragging him down to kiss again. "Trust me, if they didn't like you, you would know already."

They lost track of time sitting on the dock edge, snuggling up to each other.

"Love birds, I'm back," Eskel called, rowing towards them.

Aiden practically fell on his side as Lambert moved off him.

"Fucking finally," Lambert huffed, still flushed.

"Yeah, yeah. Get on the boat!" Eskel rolled his eyes.

Aiden, with a large sigh, stepped onto the boat. Lambert sat where the oars were placed.

Aiden was sure he looked skittish as all hell right now.

As the boats started moving, he used all his willpower not to death-grip the side. All his suaveness left his body once he stepped aboard.

Lambert removed his sweaty shirt and tossed it into the space between them before beginning to row.

"Trying to distract me?" Aiden shakily jokes.

"Is it working?" Lambert grins.

Eskel ignores the sappiness, more interested in observing the current move. Lambert rows in a steady rhythm, trying to make the trip quick without terrorizing Aiden.

"Definitely makes it better," Aiden said, eyeing his biceps moving in rotations.

He wouldn't stop messing with his hair, and truth be told, he'd been nervous about this trip for two days now. Lambert keeps his focus on paddling. Why did Eskel have to say something about drowning?

"You like birds, do you?" Lambert broke the silence.

It was more of a weird fascination about them for Aiden. "Uh, yes?"

"Look beside you," Lambert says, pointing to the left side of the boat.

There was a flock of ducks on the lake, most of which weren't swimming. Aiden eyed them for a long time and asked, "Why aren't they moving?"

"They're asleep."

"They sleep on the water?"

"You have a whole book in your apartment about ornithology. How do you not know?"

Aiden huffed defensively, "I don't read half the books Coen gives me!"

"Then why do you keep accepting them?"

"I want to be polite!"

They continued their meaningless argument until Aiden let out a dramatic sigh. He went back to watching the ducks, a cheeky smile on his face. Lambert swallowed whatever he was going to say since he didn't have his boyfriend's full attention. Eskel silently chuckled at the ridiculousness of the two. Aiden's anxiety was still there, but it had eased a great deal. He didn't think babbling would be such a useful distraction.

They reached the dock soon, to Aiden's relief. He gripped onto Eskel a bit too hard when being helped out of the boat.

"See, you're alive, and you didn't piss yourself," Lambert snorts from the boat.

"You don't have your phone, do you?" Aiden says, twitching his lips.

"Nah, I gave it to Eskel." The paler man raised an eyebrow before realization crashed on him.

Aiden beams over at Eskel, who seems to be on board with him. The two grabbed the side of the boat facing them, lifting it as Lambert cursed.

Lambert wobbled off the boat into the lake. It takes a second for his head to pop out of the water with a scowl.

Aiden didn't account for how fast Lambert could swim or that they were a few feet from the shore.

Now a soaking wet Lambert was rushing toward land. Aiden turns on his feet, running in the direction of the cabin's backyard. His boyfriend may be one hell of a swimmer, but Aiden knows how to run like his life depends on it. Lambert ignored Eskel in favor of chasing him around the house. The others were staring at them as Aiden made his fourth lap around the house. He was so caught up in running forward that he didn't realize Lambert had turned to run the opposite way. He soon found himself staring right at Lambert as he hooked another corner.

"Got ya!" Lambert shouted. Aiden didn't have enough time to dodge being picked up by his waist. "Now, what to do with you?"

Aiden was amazed that he could lift him so easily, given how tall he was. "I have ideas," he hums, wrapping his legs around Lambert.

"You don't while Ciri is here," Geralt says from across the yard.

"Later, I guess." Aiden chooses before Lambert releases him.

After overseeing the two act like idiots, everyone went back to setting up camp for the night.

The night breeze hit Lambert's wet form, making him shiver. He marched to his suitcase, retrieving some clothes. "I'm going to shower and change," he says to the group, then captures Aiden's hand.

"No ideas," Geralt reminds him as he fishes his keys out of his pocket. Tossing the keys to Lambert, he drags the leaner man behind him.

They stepped through the front door, leading into the living room. Lambert hits the lights before marching any further. The place was simple, with neutral walls and no accent colors. Even with its lack of pigment, it was carefully made to be comfortable.

There was a rather cozy couch, and by looking at the blanket, you could tell it was soft.

Lambert pulled Aiden away from eyeing Geralt's home decorating skills to take him to the hall bathroom.

"Why didn't you ask your brothers to decorate your place?" Aiden wonders.

"I didn't care what it looked like until you showed up," Lambert retorts while using a towel to collect the water dripping on the floor.

Aiden made a contemplative sound before obtaining a rag to wipe the grime off himself.

He knew this could be nothing, but he couldn't help but think those words meant more. He didn't magically solve Lambert's problems; that was never his goal. He wanted to be there for him in the same way his family was there for him.

Nobody has been waiting for it but who tf cares??!! Anyways let's give it up for MY campcamp ship ratings !!! (And no im not adding the campers x counselors ships like maxvid bcuz istg if I hear it one more time I will fucking throw a truck at you) so yea let's go first with the adults

Gwenvid- 9/10 I'm honestly loving the dynamic between these two becuz like gwen is like the grump of the two and David's the sunshine that everyone adores and ugh its so adorable like cmon don't tell they wouldn't end up together it's overall cute

Danvid- 3or4/10 idk how to feel abt this because it's a bit odd to me I mean Daniel tried to kill David like yea but it would be a decent ship if Daniel wasn't THAT weird pretty meh ship tbh (sorry danvid shippers but ily)

Gwen x Jen- 4/10 I honestly never knew they would be shipped but I guess it would be nice but I don't think it's the best tbh

Daniel x Jen- 4/10 not bad of a ship idea but it's not my cup of my tea either

Jasvid- 10/10 it's such a wholesome dynamic tbh but good only if Jasper alive AU or kid versions it's cute ^_^

Okay camperinos time

Maxneil- 7/10 tbh it's not that bad of a ship it's legit nerd x edgy kid I can see it happening, not a big fan but I support it

Makki- 7/10 could possibly happen I mean I like opposites attract it's cute although max is a bit manipulative but they're nice to eachother so it's cute ig?

Maxpres- 6.5/10 I lowkey like this ship I have no idea why but it just seems interesting like the dynamic would be fun to watch but I have mixed feelings abt it

Neilson- 6/10 I kinda shipped this back in mind freakers but then I didn't really see it much but it would be a nice ship

Neil x Preston- 3/10 idek this ship existed but ig it does for me I guess it wouldn't be that bad but I don't rlly see it either

Neilki- 1/10 I don't like the ship because of parents day(ruined me mentally) would be better as siblings like nerdy bro and energy sis (gravity falls much)

Harriston- 30/10 I love this ship sm!!!! The dynamic is so adorable they would be bfs fr like LOOK at them (even if they lack the interactions)

Cracky flash ficlet: Retrieved, with Science (Cam Mitchell, Jonas Quinn, Rodney McKay, two golden retrievers, cowboys 1950s AU).

"Those are some dumbass dogs for a cowboy," some idiot once said to Cam, his face scrunched up with disgust and derision. "Dumbest cowboy dogs I ever seen," he'd reiterated, drawing out the 'dumbest' into a slow drawl, and punctuating it by spitting a mouthful of tobacco on the ground.

The dogs in question – Killer and Fang – had looked up from where they'd been curled on the stoop of the little cabin where they all stay in the off-season, their mouths open, panting happily, exhausted from a long day of doing whatever the heck Cam had wanted them to do. He'd looked at the dogs, looked at the idiot who was talking, and figured to hell with him. Then he'd punched that idiot right in the mouth, smiling the whole while.

He'd kept on smiling while the guy spit out blood and a tooth, and smiled a little wider when Fang got up and ambled to stand between them, tail wagging, canines showing.

"Oh darn," Jonas had said when he came 'round the front of the cabin, buckets of fresh water from the well in each hand. "Insulting the dogs, huh?"

"Yup," Cam had replied, wiping his bloody hand on his shirt.

In the evening light, Killer and Fang's fur had gleamed golden, and so had Jonas's sun-bleached hair, and the idiot had looked at them all, thought better of trying anything, and walked away.

The truth is, golden retrievers make great dogs for a couple of cowboys out on the range.

They're loyal.

"They sure are," says Jonas.

They're energetic.

"Oh, definitely," Jonas agrees, as he bends to give Killer a good scratch.

They'll chew a man's leg off, just for the fun of it.

"Well, I'm not sure I agree with that one." But Jonas is smiling, so Cam doesn't have to argue about it.

And finally, they look fantastic in bandanas. Wholesome. Fetching. Downright red-ribbon-winning. "Heck yes, they do," Jonas says, nodding vigorously as he ties a new red bandana around Fang's neck. Cam likes it – the red looks great against Fang's fur, it makes her easy to spot from a distance, and it'll hide any blood after she sinks those teeth into an interloper's arm, or leg, or whatever's in biting distance that gets in her way.

"Ah, sure, Cam," Jonas says, stepping away and observing Fang's new look.

"Well, this is interesting," Jonas says, the evening that Killer trots up with what looks like a stick in his mouth. Turns out it's not a stick at all, unless it comes from a tree made of metal and covered in numbers and lines. Cam's seen a lot of trees out on the range, and he's never seen a tree like that.

Killer's path is followed, a few minutes later, by a guy who's huffing and puffing a little bit, his face red, his hands dirty, and his mouth yelling.  

Cam listens for a while, arms crossed, taking in the swearing, the exclamations about their sub-standard camp, the demands for something to eat, the admonitions that their food stores are inadequately out of reach from invasive wildlife, the complaints that it's now too late to safely get back to his own camp so he's going to have to stay with them for the night, and the accusations that Killer took an instrument that cost more than 'whatever the hell it is you two are' make in a month, which is really inconvenient, because there's science that needs to done.

Eventually the guy stops talking, mostly because he's alternating between chewing on a biscuit and tearing into some dried jerky. But even as he's eating, he's looking expectant, like he's waiting for some kind of response.

So Cam shrugs, reaches down and takes the metal instrument out of Killer's mouth and says, "Not like we can expect much else. He's a golden retriever."

Jonas nods and holds out an apple, just in case the scientist-guy is still hungry. Jonas is real welcoming like that.

Science-guy scowls but he takes the apple.

Cam doesn't listen much while science-guy and Jonas talk details. Mostly it's boring. Plus there are golden retrievers curled up on either side of him, the cattle are lowing in the distance, the sun's starting to sink below the horizon, and all together, that's just bound to make a guy sleepy.

"That is very interesting, Dr. McKay," Jonas says excitedly, not for the first time. "Right, Cam?"

Cam just hums because it'll make Jonas happy, and leans back against a tree stump, already dozing off.

Science guy heads out in the morning with several warm, freshly-baked biscuits wrapped in a bandana in one hand, his metal stick instrument thing in the other, two apples in his pockets, and what Cam guesses must be the minimum amount of grumbling and complaints that he allows himself each morning. He leaves behind some a whole bunch of quiet, which Cam is real grateful for, and a jaunty wave from Jonas, accompanied by, "Have fun with your science, Dr. McKay!"

He doesn't leave behind Killer, who gamely gets up, stretches, and trots off after him, tail held high and wagging. And that's a real son of a bitch, because Fang is going to get lonely, and Killer was wearing Cam's third-best back-up emergency bandana.

"So much for loyalty," he mutters, watching man and dog disappear into the edge of the forest.

Beside him, Fang rolls onto her back, kicking her feet into the air and flashing her fierce canines. "Don't worry," he tells her. "Next time we meet him, I'll let you gnaw his leg right off." She kicks her back feet a little harder, baring all her teeth, and wagging her tail so hard it makes her lose her balance, rolling onto her side.

Then she picks herself up and shakes, loose fur and pieces of grass flying everywhere, and she looks deadly as hell.

Cam feels real proud.

“Shhh! Be quiet, малыш!”

Val heard Nikolai arguing with a cardboard box the moment she came home from work. There were scratching sounds coming from it, sliding on the hardwood floor closer to her past Nikolai’s gentle hold on the box.

He nervously laughed. “Hello, my love. How was work today?”

Valena raised an eyebrow and smirked at him. “It’s been fine but I want to know what you’re up to this time.”

“Close your eyes, Valena.” Nikolai said, ushering her over to the couch in the living room to sit next to her. She closed her arms and felt a furry weight pressuring on her lap. Little nails were pawing at her shoulders. When she opened her eyes, Val was greeted by the tiniest Shiba she had ever seen! She gasped out of shock, and turned to her beloved. “Nikki!” She cried. The puppy interrupted her with kisses, making her giggle and try and hide her face behind her hands. The puppy was round and fluffy. Her fur color was a warm, toasted brown and she wearing a leather brown collar with a small gold bell.

Nikolai smiled heartily, with his blue eyes shimmering with pride. “Happy birthday, my dearest Valena.” He opened his arms for her to enter his embrace and kissed her on the top of her head. He felt a tug at his sweater sleeve. Looking past the forest green knitting was a fiery little shiba biting his sleeve and growling. “No no, don’t do that!” He gently scolded the puppy, hoping he’d let go. “Everybody want a piece of Nikolai, huh?” Nikolai sighed. Valena laughed at his joke.

“What should we name him?”

“блин, I don’t know. You deserve the honors of naming them.”

“Maybe we can think about it later? I was hoping we could make a birthday dinner at home. We can also keep an eye on the puppy that way!”

Nikolai nodded. “Good idea. Maybe we can start with some siopao, да?

The rest of the night in the Belinski/Villanueva household was a fun celebration. The two worked hard in the kitchen to create a hefty, wholesome meal together. It was her favorite part because of the moment in which Nikolai held her from behind and slowly swayed in the kitchen as they waited for them to finish steaming. Every task, their hands constantly touched and bumped into each other. Half the time this was on purpose. Later on, everyone was spent playing games together and plans were made to go on a weekend camping trip with some friends in the future (and yes our little pupper friend would be coming too). Eventually, The name was decided to be Hazuki.

All of these moments lead to Valena sitting at the table by her birthday cake. It was funfetti flavor and decorate with rich, vanilla buttercream. It was pink with a purple border of frosting framed at the edges and topped with fondant flowers. All whom she held dear was invited over for cake. She was reminded of how loved she was. Nikolai, Takeo, Dempsey, Richtofen, her family and even Dr.Maxis came over with his partner Sophia and daughter Samantha. Everyone huddled around Val in the dining room as they filled the quiet home with an ocean of voices.

She closes her eyes and made her wish. I wish for more blessings to come to me and my family. Val takes a deep breath and blows out the candles, with everyone cheering and eager for a slice a cake.

Valena’s heart felt like it grew 10 times it size within that moment. “Thank you everyone for coming. You all have a special place in my life!” Val said, with joyful tears brimming her eyes.

“Why, of course!” Maxis nodded.

“You’re our family!” Takeo smiled.

“There is someone else I want to thank.” She got up and waltzed over to the other side of the room, where Nikolai stood. Everyone’s eyes followed the young woman as she wrapped her arms around his torso. He had planned this all for her. “You have the most important place in my heart, Nikolai.” “I love you.” He said, before the two exchanged a loving kiss. Everyone awwed in support.

“WAIT!” Richtofen raised his hand in the air. “Excuse me but… does anyone else hear bells coming from somewhere?”

A subtle jingling sound could be heard. Everyone turned their heads and freaked out. “HAZUKI, NOOOOO!” Sure enough, little Hazuki was on the table licking the frosting off of the cake and nibbling a few chunks of the cake. Nikolai had to pick Hazuki up and fussed over her like a baby. “Oh, you are going to be tiny terror!” Granted, everyone was able to have a slice ahead of time. But Nikolai knew there would definitely be no savoring leftovers now. Valena sighed and looked at Hazuki. “Looks like we have a lot to work on as pet parents.” Hazuki yipped and wagged her tail as if stealing the spotlight was no problem.

Lol yes imagine anon here & I did submit the camping walkie talkie scenario. :) I had an ok day, the weather is getting warmer which means being miserable until Oct. I dont understand how white people just lie out in the sun tbh. Ur totally right. Why did I even assume Tae would stay w/ the kids? Parents au: Riddle, Lilia, Sebek, Vil and Floyd edition!

From what we've seen, his parents are not the best role models like, at all. They were too strict, pressuring him and treating him like a trophy child. However, he will definitely not treat his child like that at all after Ace slapped him with reality.

He will be a bit strict, having some rules and will scold them if they did something wrong but not as scold them the way his mother does. He won't raise his voice at them, showing them the right path after he scolded them. He will give them freedom and try his best to not make his children suffer the same thing he did, especially when he's the source of the pain.

Though, he might accidentally adapt some things from his mother and project her ways to his children, being completely not self aware. If you're his s/o, please teach him the baby steps to avoid this from this occurring too often.

Unfortunately, having a good life and children won't make his short temper extend. This is the only reason why he doesn't spoil them too much, they might act entitled and may be too late to change them back to the innocent infant they were back then. He tries very hard to control his temper if his children unintentionally knock furniture over or damage something. He just needs a few minutes alone, everything will be back to normal later.

There was one time where his child's birthday was near and decided to bake a cake from scratch, without any assistance from Trey nor his s/o. Thinking he could do it and don't want anyone to underestimate him. He was planning to make a burnt strawberry cheesecake and did the mistake of leaving the oven on for an hour for 400 degrees fahrenheit. The cake went on fire but it tasted very good when he for some reason tasted it. Nobody knew about the incident and the cake was actually used for its purpose. Yay for him, I guess.

He was already pretty outdated in trends when he was in his teens so do expect him to be like a middle aged soccer mom on Facebook every time his children send him memes or something like that. If he does even use any sort of social media and stumbled upon a 'funny' minion meme or something, he will definitely send it to the family group chat. He will make those 5th grade types of edits with one of the family pictures with a "I love my family". It's funny but still wholesome so don't laugh at him.

There is no alternate universe where Lilia isn't a good dad. Silver and his other wards are already an amazing example of how amazing of a parent he is! He has gained a bunch of experience so he got this in the bag.

Though, his way of taking care of children might be different from how it is now. Times have changed, there are probably some new and uncomplicated objects or toys to entertain the baby or child. He would love to go on a shopping trip to buy some fascinating kids toys he found in the toy store. Please stop him from buying everything in there because it looks "intriguing".

If you're his s/o, you're very lucky since if you have a baby who always cries at three in the morning or a kid who really have trouble sleeping, Lilia will sing a lullaby and they'll doze off in any second. He can wake up easily or he'll just always stay up playing his games so you don't even need to break a sweat in this situation.

His kids or any kid in general loves him lots. He will always tell his tales anywhere, anytime. If the kids ask him for a story to tell, he will always have a new one ready to tell. They also make amazing bedtime stories! It can be funny little innocent stories like his funny experiences taking care of his three wards to actual battles he went through. Any story is a good story.

He really got along with his child when they're young and innocent but when they get into their teenage years, oh boy. He will unintentionally embarrasses them but their friends won't mind. If anything, they will love him being around as he's always keeping up with the games and trends, not being a fat, shirtless creepy dad. One of the positive parts about his child growing up is that he can play video games with him just like he did with Silver! Reliving the nice memories.

He would always try to cook something in any opportunity he gets and of course, he gets stopped by either s/o or his own children. Yes, they have to go through the hard way to realize their father is garbage at cooking. He would always try to cook some food everytime something good has happen in order to celebrate but most of the times, he just wants to cook something for them to show how much he loves them. They really made him happy, he finally have a biological/adopted offspring to watch growing up (again).

Sebek unfortunately doesn't have that much time to spend time with his children due to being Malleus' trusted escort. Of course, when he does have free time and is not exhausted he will use the opportunity to spend it with his adorable younglings.

Knowing him, he still loves and worships Malleus but he's no longer his only priority in life when he finally has a life of his own other than just being Malleus' bodyguard. He will ramble and tell so many stories about his young master to his kids. They will be infatuated but will later complain about how everything is just "Malleus this, Malleus that". He will get a bit upset about that comment, so he will only talk about Malleus stories for 3 days a week.

He only has focused his life on guarding Malleus and advancing himself on magic and education. Now that he's now an actual father, this is a new chapter in his life and he's not prepared at all. He will seek Lilia for guidance and of course, Lilia being Lilia will rope him to doing something absolutely ridiculous and he would of course, woefully fall for it. Pretty surprising that no matter how much he has fallen for his teacher's trap, he still seeks him for advice.

His kids will definitely learn how to read fast. He loves reading and he really wants his kids to appreciate it too. He was about to immediately give them the books that have old and poetic language without even knowing what the alphabet was. Lilia put a stop to this and you couldn't even bear seeing how sad he looked because he needs to wait for a few years for him to have little reading buddies. Oh well, it doesn't matter now. He will teach them how to read and appreciate the art of reading no matter how long it takes.

He has exposed his children to a bunch of Malleus propaganda so there's no surprise if the children become just like him. Loud screaming, Malleus worshipping, smart but naive and other things Sebek has. If you're his s/o, please keep the children in check as they might cause problems to the neighbors. As this might be troublesome, it's at least entertaining experience I suppose.

Just like Sebek, he has even less time to spend with his kids as he always has modeling, acting and other businesses to attend. He's probably going to be exhausted when he comes back as well. Though, of course he's going to try to use all his energy to talk to his children till he can no longer open his eyes anymore. He prefers an s/o that is a stay-in mom/dad so the children won't feel lonely while he's gone.

They're definitely gonna grow up just like him. A model, actor, media influencer, or the combination of the three and it's not a bad thing. If they're going on the same route as him, he will teach them in a strict but still in a somewhat caring manner as he has learned a lot from his experience of the VDC boot camp and the overblot incident. He will only show his threatening side if they start to misbehave like those ADeuce rats.

Just because they are his children, doesn't mean they get a free pass if they intentionally neglect or not doing their best at all times, especially when it comes to appearance. He's known to be a neat-freak and a very hard worker to the point it's concerning. He will scold them if more than two pimples pop up on their face but he knows when to cross the line. He learned this easier if their child is rather sensitive and just emotionally fragile in general but they still need to take care of themselves.

He expects his children to follow his footsteps when it comes to where they're schooling. He wants them to enter a prestigious school like he did for his reputation and for the sake of his children's future. This is optional (not really) but he also hopes his children to enter Pomefiore as well and take the dorm head title at least the second week they enroll in this school. If they were sorted to a different dorm, they still want them to have a role in their dorm or in the school at all.

He begs to the Great Seven that paparazzi or desperate losers obsessing over him don't intrude into his personal life, especially if it's about his family. The last thing he wants to witness is his family in pain or being uncomfortable for their whole life. He usually avoids or straight up tells the interviewer that he's not comfortable answering questions when they're going too personal when it's about questions of his family.

You cannot feel anymore blessed when you see his smiling face when he received news about having a vacation. He can finally spend more time with his wonderful kids he's raising with all his heart. He will tell them about some funny incidents in the studio while he was involved in some modeling gig or he will bring them to a private island with gorgeous scenery for both of them to enjoy. Of course, his children's happy faces are more beautiful than the island.

Floyd is seen to be very warm and sweet despite having a very intimidating height. Naturally, he's not going to be ruthless and act the same when it's with his children because it's his children of course, family is precious to him. He has a lot of energy even after a long shift at Mostro Lounge, so he will always spend a lot of time with his kids.

He's physically affectionate so expect him to be always close and wrapping his arms around his children at almost all times. He'll usually let them sit on his lap when they watch TV or sleep with them if they can't go back to sleep because of a nightmare. Headpats are needed, especially if the kids did something good or got good news. Not saying he won't give any headpats if something bad happens, maybe headpats of sympathy perhaps.

He's very patient when it's with his children because he doesn't want his children to fear him when they grow up. If anything, the s/o have to do the scolding to avoid him snapping or anything like the sort. They rarely do anything bad though, since they're aware of how their dad acts from how he treats a dirty burglar who once tried to break in.

Since he's usually very active and hates just standing around, he expects his children to be just like him. It's never boring if your dad is Floyd as he always has something really entertaining to do at most times. If you're his s/o, you have the free entrance to see an eel man dancing around with his kids or playing some basketball either inside or preferably in the backyard. He tried showing the art of parkour but is stopped due to it being very risky. He sulked about this but oh well, once they're ten, they have no choice but to learn it!

Floyd is an amazing cook and he sometimes lets his children be involved like chopping some vegetables or stirring the macaroni. He sometimes teaches them the perfect way of doing it or let's them try doing their own meal with his assistance. There was one time they decided to make one of the weirdest food combinations and try to eat it, he won and ate it all as it was too gross for the kids to eat it. It's not gonna be a surprise if everyone in this household is an expert cook when Floyd is here.

If possible, he really wants to bring his kids at work no matter how troublesome they could get. If Azul has a "bring your kids to work" day (which I doubt of him doing), he's going to bring all his children no matter how many he has. If there's no day like that, who cares! He's bringing his kids anyway and nobody's stopping him. Sure, he will get scolded by Azul but if that's the only thing stopping him then he'll take his chances.

I don't if it's still Christmas or not since I don't celebrate it but if it's still is, Merry Christmas! 🎉 I'll just say this is a Christmas gift for you and your friend, Mouaietaru! Especially for that Jamil and Silver fanfic that you made. It's very good, keep up the fantastic work! ✨✨✨

A/N: I was doing a writing challenge with my boyfriend and the word prompts I got (wish, court, ignoring, pancakes, incision) immediately made my inspiration go into overdrive skjcndkj

So yeah, here’s my first fic for the mcyt fandom, an Antartic Empire AU. Hello, if this fic doesn’t tip you off, found family is my favorite trope and writing the SBI family being chaotically wholesome makes my writing brain go. Enjoy, reblogs and comments are greatly appreciated!

In hindsight, maybe agreeing to let Tommy and Tubbo go out camping without adult supervision hadn’t been such a good idea. When they had first asked, Philza had been quite reluctant -the two were still teenagers, after all, and sending two sixteen years old to sleep in the middle of a forest would have made any parent hesitate.

But it was also true that Tommy and Tubbo weren’t exactly helpless, either. Tommy was the Prince of the Antarctic Empire, after all, and both kids were undergoing sword and combat training under Philza and Technoblade -two of the strongest fighters in their kingdom. The woods weren’t really that dangerous, either -they were situated just behind the royal castle, fenced halfway through by a massive wall, and patrols walked regularly around it to avoid any unsavory surprises.

So yes, Philza had agreed, in the end. And that was going to be the last time he did. Next time -because he knew there was going to be a next time, he knew his son too well to expect otherwise- he was going to send Wilbur with them, even if it meant having to cuff him and Tommy together so that the kids wouldn’t have a choice in the matter.

Anything, to avoid having to step out of a court meeting into the royal family’s common room to see Techno with a first aid kit open as he hastily lectured Tommy about the fucking necessity of seeking help right away after falling off a fucking cliff, what the fuck Tommy you might have had internal bleeding and not known about it what the hell were you thinking-

Philza had blinked at the scene in front of him, utterly dumbfounded as he took in the disheveled state of his youngest and the sheepish and slightly worried look in Tubbo’s eyes. Wilbur mostly looked amused, honestly, so maybe that should have tipped Philza off that nothing was really wrong, but all he’d needed was to hear the words “cliff” and “internal bleeding” referring to Tommy and every single one of his dad instincts had gone into overdrive.

“What the hell happened?!” he asked, fully stepping inside as he moved to crouch beside his youngest son.

“Nothing, Techno is just being a fucking mother-hen!” Tommy exclaimed, rolling his eyes.

“You know that slope towards the northern wall, the one half-hidden by some bushes in the area where we always tell everyone not to go through because it’s dangerous?” Wilbur asked, drowning out Tommy’s protests. “Yeah, guess where this idiot decided to go explore.”

“Oh please, as if a small slope was going to scare me!” Tommy groaned, glaring at his older brother. “I’m a big man!”

“I did try to dissuade him, but it didn’t really work,” Tubbo piped up sheepishly.

Philza sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I wish you stopped ignoring our warnings when we tell you not to do certain things, Tommy.”

“Every warning is a challenge if you’re not a coward!” Tommy grinned. Techno, who was still crouched in front of him, hid a snort in his elbow, trying to pass it off as a not-very-believable cough.

“Don’t laugh, he definitely took that from you,” Philza pointed out wearily. “You all are the reason I’m already going grey.”

“Nope, that’s because you’re just old, Dadza, “ Wilbur teased, leaning his chin on his hands like the little shit he was.

“Tommy, you’re a fucking idiot,” Techno suddenly piped up, letting out a frustrated sigh.

“Hey!” Tommy shouted, affronted. “What did I do now?!”

“You took a fucking healing potion without checking your injuries first, that’s what,” Techno grumbled. “Now your skin healed over a couple of pretty big splinters and I’ll have to make an incision to get them out.”

Tommy blanched at the word “incision”, trying to scoot away from his older brother. “O-Oi, I’m sure that’s not necessary now!”

“It could become infected if I don’t get them out,” Techno explained, already reaching into the medical kit for the right utensils. “Trust me, you don’t want to go through that.”

Philza sighed, patting Tommy on the back. “As soon as Techno is done with this we can go make some pancakes, how about that?”

Tommy eyed his dad warily, pondering his options. “Chocolate chip pancakes with as much syrup as I want?”

“Deal,” Philza nodded. “You ready?”

“Bring it on, fuckers!” Tommy grinned, his excitement now back tenfold. “Big man Tommy is scared of no blades. I’m sure it won’t even hurt that much.”

“10 golds says you’re going to scream like a little girl,” Wilbur grinned.

“Get ready to lose then, Wil!”

Tommy did, in fact, not scream, but after the whole ordeal, Techno did have to also disinfect his bleeding lip. He did get his 10 golds and pancakes out of it, so Philza was just going to count his blessings, try to stop his sons from wreaking havoc in the kitchen, and make sure that slope was going to get fenced as soon as fucking possible.

These kids were going to be the death of him. But if he had to be honest, he wouldn't have it any other way.

“Hey, hey, hey!” the ace called out, walking up to the booth you were tucked into at the coffee shop where you worked.

“You’re late!” you teased him with a smirk as he came to stand by your table.

“You’re right,” he said, grinning wickedly, taking your hand and pulling you out of the booth. “I should have asked you out sooner.” He pulled you to your feet, all energy and eagerness, but stopped you short, his face inches from yours. You held your breath, captured in the moment. Bokuto, seemingly exercising all of his self-restraint, slowly leaned in and planted the softest kiss to the side of your cheekbone. The feeling of his lips on your skin shot a tingle through your cheek and you felt heat rise to your face. Slightly flustered, you pivoted.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have agreed then, if it was so obvious I’d say yes!” you teased, resisting the urge to entwine fingers with the pro volleyball player who had come in to visit your coffee shop every day for the past week.

The MSBY Black Jackals were in town for a training camp and extended tournament—you had learned that on the second day an impressive group of four men came into the small, poorly-lit coffee shop. This week your boring barista job had been spiced up by the orders of a tall, masked man with thick, dark curls (a small black coffee); a much shorter man with tangerine-orange hair who was almost half the size of the first (large decaf iced green tea, one sugar); a sharp-looking, clearly athletic man with two-toned hair (medium americano); and the broad-shouldered, golden-eyed sweetheart in front of you. He was by the far the biggest talker of the group even at 6:30am—you caught his attention immediately; he had looked a little dumbstruck, locking eyes with you when he first entered the desolated coffee shop, then quickly shaking his head and zooming over to you at the register with an enthusiastic hi! His friends had trailed in groggily behind him and it wasn’t until they caught up with him that he realized he actually didn’t drink coffee, and that he was only here to be with his friends. Blushing, he had stepped to the side to let them order, leaning against the display case (which you had to clean later) and elbowing the fake blond when his order came across as snippy in his morning attitude. But his eyes never left your face the whole time. You had wondered if he knew he was being so obvious, but he was really cute so...you didn’t mind. Something about the way his hair stood up stock-straight made his bone structure pop and you caught yourself sneaking glances more than once.

You hadn’t talked much to the athletic strangers that first day, not expecting the same group to return the following morning.

“Welcome back!” you had greeted as they walked in, feeling unusually cheery despite the dour expressions of the two tallest gentlemen, clearly not morning people.

That was the day that Bokuto finally introduced himself. He struck up a conversation with you, telling you about what he and his teammates were doing in town and asking you a little about yourself.

That same afternoon, you were quietly delighted when he returned by himself to buy a deli sandwich, explaining that he was on a lunch break from the training camp being hosted in the gymnasium across the street. The coffee shop was dead as ever and his bright smile had lit up the place. With a charming near-bashfulness, the owlish athlete admitted that he had also swung by because secretly had wanted to see you again too. His earnestness was so alluringly wholesome.

The next morning, he had come in alone, informing you with a grin that he had offered to grab drinks for the rest of his friends.

“That’s awfully kind of you, seeing as you never order anything for yourself,” you had said, side-eyeing him with a playful smirk as you made the first drink. “I wonder what could have—”

“When do you get off work today?” he blurted, too eager for his own good. You cleared your throat, fighting back a smile.

“I get off at noon today—”

“Oh shoot, we’re still in practice then!” Bokuto’s face had turned on a dime, his eyebrows drawing together and a shadow crossing his features. You had to resist the urge to reach across the counter to console the customer you’d met only a few days prior.

“—but Friday I’m completely off...” you continued. Bokuto lit back up and beamed at you again.

“Oh! Friday we just have a morning game then we’re supposed to rest!” his golden irises almost seemed to sparkle. “Do you wanna...maybe walk around downtown together after the game? I saw there’s this really cool river walk past the stadium—maybe I can buy you coffee?” he asked, full of enthusiastic energy. “You’re just...so cool! And I wanna spend more time with you!”

Your answer was an easy one, and it made him smile all the bigger at you, which warmed your heart. He was really such a sweet guy, and you did enjoy talking to him. It was a whirlwind, but every morning when he came in to order the same three drinks, his bright smile made your day, and you found yourself smiling a little more too throughout your shift, the empty coffee shop not seeming so dismal anymore. The three days leading up to your day off only built your anticipation to spend more time with him.

You had thought about going to see his game on your day off, but you decided you didn’t want to see him in action because it might make you unnecessarily nervous for the date. And so you waited at the coffee shop as you had agreed.

But then he had to go and just about knock you off your feet with that sweet, surprising little kiss to your temple, and you were flustered and nervous and....

“I’m sure you pick up baristas in every city you go to, you jetsetter,” you teased in response.

“Oh...oh no, Y/n, you don’t think I’m being insincere, do you?” he asked anxiously. His genuine concern startled you.

“Oh! Oh no, no, not at all! Sorry, I was just teasing,” you assured him, nudging him with your elbow, and you could practically see the relief in his golden eyes. He was so sweet.

“No,” he continued. “I don’t really... I dunno, I find it hard to approach people sometimes,” he admitted as the two of you walked out of the coffee shop where you had met.

“You??” you asked, bewildered that someone so outgoing could struggle approaching anyone.

But... I don’t know, don’t you wish you had more people to see?”

You considered the question for a moment.

“Honestly... I kind of hate my job. It’s just pouring coffee and mixing drinks and.... Usually I actually prefer it when no one comes in. That way I can at least do things I want to do, like read, or work on my book but...I—” you trailed off, gazing toward the churning river alongside the path.

“What?” Bokuto asked.

“No, it’s just I...” you pinched your lips together with your teeth, feeling the familiar heat rise to your face again. Your heart beat just a little bit faster knowing those golden irises were on your face. “I used to feel that way, dreading when customers would come in, but it’s like.... Ever since you’ve showed up I don’t really...I don’t mind so much. In fact I actually kind of like it?”

“Oh yeah?” the corner of his mouth quirked up and he puffed out his chest a little. “Is it because you’re looking forward to seeing me?” he asked, half-teasing and half-genuine. He boldly grabbed your hand, resting your joined hands on his thigh and idly playing with your fingers, his eyes still on your face. Your heart skipped a beat and you couldn’t hold back the smile on your face.

“I mean,” you smiled bigger, “that’s part of it, for sure, but.... It’s more than that. It’s like...I appreciate the time more. It’s like you make me look at things a different way. Like—like for example, when you were pointing out how well-painted the birds and flowers in the mural over the sugar stand were—I had hardly even looked at it before! I’ve worked here for over a year and I had never even noticed something so obvious. And beautiful. Or on Wednesday, when you came in during lunch, and you did that goofy dance to the song on the radio—you made me laugh and actually enjoy the dumb station they make us play for once.” Bokuto was still listening intently, his thumb grazing over your knuckles. “It’s like, you just make me see things a different way, because of how you see them.” His eyes lit up in a way you hadn’t seen before. “I know, I’m being corny—”

“No,” he interrupted, his expression intense. You searched his eyes and felt yourself relax again, happy to be with the dork who had pursued you all week.

“You just sort of change my outlook. And I really like that about you,” you admitted, your tongue feeling heavy in your mouth. You two shared a moment of comfortable silence. Bokuto couldn’t believe that he’d made someone as wonderful as you...happier. Just because of him.

“Will you come to my game tomorrow?” he asked.

“Oh, I uh—” you hadn’t thought about it. You had nothing against it, now that you two had officially spent time together outside of the coffee shop, you just hadn’t thought about it.

“I—I love spending time with you and I just...I wanna know if you being at a game might be like me being at your coffee shop. You make me wanna play my best for you!”

You smiled. How could you say no to that face?

I was really inspired by the dialogue in the musical about the protagonist being someone who moves around a lot and instead of that being a shady thing, it’s an opportunity for wider perspectives! *Nondespair AU, Kaito is very encouraging of Rantaro. Rantaro doesn't really open up to people a lot, but Kaito tries his best to reassure him that he can tell him anything

*Rantaro would send him pictures of plants that he sees on his travels, asking what they are [Sometimes he already knows but he enjoys Kaito's enthusiasm].

*Rantaro gets Kaito to paint his nails! Black nail polish for the win! Eventually gets a stensil out so he can put stars on his nails

*Every time Rantaro is back from a trip, Kaito will run up and give him a bear hug.

Okay you know what? I have brainrot and after trying to draw something I’m just gonna inflict you all with headcannons from an AU which holds next to nothing from cannon and that I may never actually write!

While I’ll grant there is an option for “FRan but they’re in College instead of High School” this ain’t it. This is pushing the Chronometer juuuuuuuust a bit back and placing it before certain events.

Rather than “Lux Clan lad and a bunch of Clan Heirs” it’s now “The newest Attachment Gathering Team is the Clan Heads and the Widow of the previous Metallum Clan Head. And because Houjo was the one to pick them he had to allow them to bring their kids as well”. So we have a regular couple with their kid (who may or may not have outlived their firstborn if Andgy’s works are anything to go by), a couple who really should get an effin’ divorce and their kid, a Single Mom, and a Single Dad, each with their own small child.

If this were the route the show took it’d end up being a slice of life featuring grade school shenanigans, grownups juggling their alibi jobs with their real jobs (They may be out of Fairy World but there’s no escaping that paperwork), and generally wholesome family stuff. (Don’t be fooled, the fluff is there so make the heavy themes easier and we all know it)

Now that we have some context out of the way let’s get to the headcannons!

Yeah it’s these two what did you expect? And yes I gave the nameless parents names which I will rescind if and only if the creators give us real ones

Hoterase Kaji, better known as Homura’s Dad or “That Ignis Clan hooligan”

-Since all the families have their own houses, connected by Those Doors, Kaji is free to keep raising Homura as he has. Which is good because he was mildly concerned about someone like Sumiyoshi giving him flack for who knows what.

-Okay he’ll be the first to admit he doesn’t 100% know what he’s doing sometimes but in his defense he can at least do the important stuff: cook real food, clean, braid his son’s hair.   ~Ignis Clan Culture in general is pretty cooperation oriented. There was no “one parent holds a job while the other does all the housework”, you took turns and did things like raise a rambunctious little boy together. Being a Widower means he’s up a creek in some respects but he’s doing his best.

-Homura gets his looks from Kaji, but that temper of his? Believe it or not, 85% of that he gets from his Mother. The other 15 does come from Kaji but Kaji’s temper is the kind you want to avoid if at all possible because like fire he can very much kill a man.    ~Needless to say Kaji keeps a strong grip on his temper, only allowing it to escape when practicing.

-He was surprised to see that his new home was right across the street from a Dojo. Doubly so when he realized that it was run by a family of three.    ~When the two were fully settled into their new home, they were surprised to learn that this was a fairly close-knit community, as neighbors stopped by frequently to introduce themselves.

-He knows how to use a stove and a microwave and can make actual meals, yes, but all told he likes cooking things over a fire better. Yes this includes Grilling. In his opinion Charcoal > Gas but he’s not overly picky

-When he or Homura are feeling particularly restless they go camping, and Kaji teaches Homura how to cook over a fire.

-The first time Kaji tried to pick out a human form, it made Homura cry because he didn’t recognize his dad    ~Homura also cried when he tried to make a human form himself and didn’t recognize himself in the mirror. He’s like five cut him some slack

-He’s a very caring father, but he does know when to put his foot down. Luckily Homura is mostly well-behaved. There are a few times he has to sit his boy down for a talk but it’s never as bad as other parents complain over.     ~He does not understand why Aqua Clan Parents (or at least the ones he’s working with) tie their kids to chairs for not getting first in school and he does not want to. As long as Homura puts in the work and asks for help when he needs it, Kaji is content.

-It goes without saying that he still works out in human form. Out of all the Fairies he’s the only one able to pick up all the boys. Sometimes even all four at once. Homura likes to mimic him, but Kaji has to look into child-scaled weights and such otherwise his beloved boy is stuck with basic exercises like push-ups and crunches.

-The lady who runs the Dojo across the street has a child about Homura’s age, and like her husband is oddly laid back about the odd things that escape his and Homura’s mouths. Which is good because he really enjoys his conversations with them, as well as the fact he’s allowed to teach his son to use a spear in relative safety.

-He has reading glasses in his human form, and he works from home.

-He gets along with everyone in his group except for Sumiyoshi, who has some kind of stick up his ass and considers himself superior to the rest of them. (Sumiyoshi just thinks Aqua Clan Fairies are superior in general because the whole “Aqua Clan handles Administration for the Entire Fairy World”. He unlearns that later in the AU)

Episodes I don’t like too much/ Don’t watch:

54:The Candy Kingpin

I know, I know, probably an unpopular take. I don’t really like Dolph, and think the series could have done without his whole… thing. I like him as a character, sorta, but I also don’t really like him. I honestly forgot this episode even existed until I looked it up, and the only thing I remember was Gwen and David’s conversation. The whole story was… eh? Whatever, it was still fine-ish in the long run.

53: Reigny Day

Enough said. Everyone’s lowkey kind of a jerk in this episode, except for Neil and Max for like two seconds.Also, Dolph jokes. Don’t like it.

52:Cameron Campbell the Campbell Camper

This one was pretty meh. I, once again, didn’t remember it existed until I looked it up. It wasn’t Cam’s best episode (I’ll get to that later), and it was kinda bland. Bland doesn’t mean bad though, but it just wasn’t the best. Only thing I remember was the wholesome Dadvid moment and Max saying a funny line. Enough said about that.

51: Anti Social Network

Now, I wasn’t too sure where to put this, because this was in theory a good episode. I just don’t like it. I’m not sure why, but Max being a tiny perv is very funny to me, because that is exactly what a ten year old is like. I just didn’t really find it interesting or catching my attention, but it wasn’t a bad episode.

50: The Order of the Sparrow

I get why you like this, I totally get it. It’s funny and lots of Dadvid, plus Gwen singing for the first time. Honestly, Gwen singing and David’s mental breakdown is what got this higher than Anti Social Network, but it’s still racist. I get it, it’s comedy, but it’s still really… interesting. I know the CC people are trying their best, and it’s a delicate balance, but I still skip over the first few minutes.

49: Jeremy Fartz

We love a hilarious mess up, Max cursing, and David making fun of someone, but it’s also a really awkward episode? Like, it makes for a really good backstory for Jeremy and joining the Woodscouts, but it’s such an odd episode. Not bad, just odd. Whatever, I still like it. Sorta….

48: Fashion Victims

Oh boy, Russian Waifu comes back. I love Ainsley, she’s my precious baby and Max’s purified Doppelganger, and I love her so much. But Sasha’s not my favorite character in the show, and she got especially mean in this episode. I love the whole Vera thing, but really dislike this one. I watch it once in a while, but not too often. Also, we love positivity from Tabii and Erin.

47:Time Crapsules

We love Gwen blushing, improvement from Max, and making fun of baseball. But this episode really hit me with second hand embarrassment for both Gwen and Max. You know when you can’t sit through an episode without getting second hand embarrassment? Yup, that’s this one. I wanted the guy coming through the door to be David and I’m salty, ok? This is my list, and we stan Gwenvid on this account.

46:Campfire Tales

Dolph’s story was boring, Space Kid was great, We love ghost parents. We l o v e Slenderman! AU David in this household, and I want to see more of them. Oh yeah, outfits were great. Max is a baby in this episode, and I love his fear because it makes you see that he really is a little boy with feelings. I also laugh at everyone’s faces after Space Kid’s story.

45:Preston Goodplay’s Goodplay

Oooooo, this is a tough one. I love Preston as a character, because I too am a theatre kid who dislikes most people and wants to be famous for her storytelling. I can relate. I love how David talks to him, and how Preston comes to his realization that he doesn’t need to please everyone. Also, canon French Speaking! David is canon. Amazing. He’s still Candian! Anyway, Clown College was odd, but whatever, I can roll with it.

44: The Quarter Moon Convergence

We totally saw Zemug and no one said anything. No one! Why was no one talking about this! We saw the elder god! Anyways, I love Harrison and Quartermaster working together. It’s funny, it’s clever, and I want to see more of it. I do not like the subplot with the other characters, and it really took me out of the main story. Other than that, pretty interesting idea, and I love my pure magic boy!

43:Who Peed in the Lake

Ew. That’s all I need to say about it. It’s extremely funny, I like the motives, and I love detective Max. However, Nikki and the final answer are disgusting in this episode. It gross, it’s gross, it’s gross, but it’s so funny. I know I have the humor of an eight year old, I don’t care.

42:New Adventure

I love how this episode was played out. Funny, clever, and overall pretty ok. Plus, guess who shows up? Dirty Kevin, my friends! Best trash boy :)

Overall pretty good! Not too many complaints, but not too many great things either.

41:The Fun Raiser

Hmmm… This was an… interesting episode. David and Gwen scheming is my new religion, and they are both idiots. Who the hell thought this plan was a good idea? David? I mean, he’s a little bit dipsy, but has SOME common sense. Gwen? Maybe, but you know, she’s logical. You know what? I’m being too picky. I love my dumbasses, they are the best. Also, Gwen sitting on David is everything I love in my life and everything I need. Harrison makes a very good point, Nikki probably found Jasper’s skull, and Max is my scheming child. Whatever, eh episode, love the plot, but I have cringed at it.

40: Foreign Exchange Students

Like I’ve said before, this episode is out of place. It’s not bad, it’s just… blandish. I know, I know, Russian Waifu was in it, but this episode was only ok. I love Vera and Brian, and the ending is super funny, but other than that, eh episode.

39:Attack of the Nurfs

I honest to gods forgot this episode existed. I ended up rewatching it, and had a few good laughs. Gwen in this episode, for the little time she appears, is so funny. David’s sparkle eyes always make me laugh, and Max ends up making me laugh most of all. Nurf takes “talking to yourself” to a whole new level, and I relate my man. Get that therapy!

38:Camp Cool Kidz

This episode is eh....? I love my tiny rebellious children, but I really hate Ered in this episode. It just feels… so unlike her. I get it, it’s the start of her ark, but really and truly I disliked her character in this episode. On the other hand, Nikki is me trying to flirt with other women. She’s my little baby Pansexual, and I love her to death. Honestly, I really enjoy Nikki episodes, so yeah. Also, the literal moment I began to love Gwen with the “Stab her bitch!” line.

37:Quest to Sleepy Peak Peak

Honestly, I almost never watch this episode, but I still really like it. Nerris’s lines, the battle between two magic folk, the one liners, the ending, oh it was really good. However, some of the parts were boring, it’s not the best, but it’s still pretty good. Whatever, I like Nerrison and magic, so boom.

36:Escape from Camp Campbell

Honestly, what a classic. First episode, Gwen being overall great, “No Running”, Max being a  tiny Satan, Nikki and Neil being amazing. But, once again, it’s the first episode, which means some things aren’t the best. But! I do enjoy this one, and watch it sometimes.

35:Mind Freakers

Eh… It’s pretty ok. We love Harrison and Neil being jerks to each other, and we love Max having an identity crisis, but all I could really think through this was “Poor Max” and “This is a really stupid and petty fight”. It really is petty, which isn’t bad, but I feel like ti was an odd episode. Not bad, I thoroughly enjoy it, I just couldn’t swallow normal for a few days….

34:Romeo and Juliet 2: Love Resurrected

Bon Bon~! Yay! We love David for having a Tinder, for Max’s amazing performance, and the drama! That being said, it’s overall a pretty good episode! Not the best, but pretty good!

33:Mascot

Welp, I feel like you all know what I’m getting at. The jokes are well landed, Muack appears for the first time ( and steals the show, and that’s the tea), and my girl Nikki is so precious. Quartermaster is weird as hell, and speaking of which…

32: Quartermaster Appreciation Day

I know, it’s gross, it’s weird, I hate the relationship almost as much as I can, but this episode is so freaking funny. So many of the jokes are well timed, some classic lines come from this episode, and Quartermaster being his weird self is a major playing factor.

31: Space Camp was a hoax

More Gwen and David being two idiots sharing one brain cell? Hell yes, lay it on me. Space Kid is so funny, and his inner dialouge is fantastic. Also, Nikki cursing is incredible, even if it isn’t really on screen. Gwen’s line “Is this what success feels like?” is a major mood, and I just generally think it’s a good episode.

30: Ered gets her cool back

We love Nerris and Ered’s relationship in this household, ok? Older sporty sister spends time with dorky younger sister who has more common sense? Bigger sister gets better at being with other people and learns a lot form the experience? Nikki”s outfit? All major amazing things I love in this episode. But, the plot was a little eh, and I got second hand embarrassment.

29:Jasper dies at the end

All I have to say is H O O E Y

28:Cameron Campbell can’t handle the truth serum

Dolph’s autstic? Oh, ok, that’s pretty cool! We love representation. Anyways, this was an odd episode. Not good, not bad, just… odd. The therapy and plant jokes made my dad have to come in and check on me because I was laughing so loud, and most of the other jokes hit well. But it was… eh plot wise. It was pretty good joke wise though!

27:Journey to Spooky Island

Jasper, Quartermaster’s ahem… thing, and Max screaming were the best things in this episode. This episode is pretty great if I do say so myself, but this is ranked lower because I did not need to imagine Quartermaster like that. Excuse while I go burn out my eyeballs.

26: Camporee

Fuck Pikeman. All my homies hate Pikeman. No seriously, he is my least favorite character on the show. His sexism and gross advances really get to me, and the way he treats Gwen is disgusting. Now I have that out of the way, I actually enjoyed this episode, except for Pikeman. Hot take, I know. I’ve seen the Pikeman X Reader stuff on Wattpad. Whatever, back to the topic. Episode was good overall, especially the lesson. Each person’s talents were fantastic, and the ending itself was great. 

25:Camp Corp

We stan business Gwen and her telling Nancy to shut up.I love the plot, forcing three people who usually don’t work together to solve a common problem. I love that, and it does make for an interesting story. However, there are some flaws to the episode, but it’s overall pretty fantastic!

24:Follow the Leader

Are you kidding me? This was a great idea. Funny, creative, inventive, and overall pretty good. Playing with how each character leads was a great idea, and very inventive to give them all a common goal. Why it’s so low is personal pettiness. Pikeman, and Jasper was probably on the island when it blew up.

23:Squirrel Camp

Why is this so high up? *Looks at notes* Oh yeah, it’s so stupid I actually like it. No, but for real though, I know people don’t like this one as much as I do, but I think it’s pretty funny. Sure, dumb idea and kind of mediocore, but to me it’s so fun and entertaining. I’m sorry if you don’t agree, but you can make your own list if you’d like. It’s such a weird plot it’s entertaining. You get me?

22:Panicked Room

I just really like this episode, no rhyme or reason. It’s really funny and romantic, and the interactions were so good. David and Gwen through this episode were amazing for the mere seconds they were on screen, but it was overall pretty good!

21: City Survival

I couldn’t remember much of what happened in this so I ended up rewatching it. We love Dirty Kevin, David’s reaction to the city, and David being a homeless twink. Gwen also has the fancy outfit in this episode, and I am all for that.

20: Cookin Cookies

Three girls accidentally start a meth lab and go all breaking bad? Hell yes.It’s funny, the completion of everyone getting father figures, and it’s an overall good idea. It’s creative, good, it’s amazing. I really wanted to know what the main three were doing though, I’m actually kinda curious. Anyways, good story, and very enjoyable.

19:Keep the change

I found this episode very entertaining! Dadvid, Campbell getting better, funny moments, and a good plot! It’s really a great episode, and establishes what the season will be about. In fact, I believe I have themes for all the seasons:

18:Parent’s Day

Ok, Ok, know, Dadvid, but really I feel like this episode is a tiny bit overhyped. I love the Dadvid, Candy and Carl (Except I really don’t ship Neil/Nikki anymore), and how Max’s … situation is handled. Yes, I am on the side of thinking Max’s parents are abusive or at least ignorant. They just don’t care, and that’s where Max’s attitude comes from. It was well handled, and I very much like this episode.

17:Dial M for Jasper

I love Jasper with all of my heart, and watching his backstory was both heartbreaking and amazing. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching it made me hate Campbell more than I did, and I expect the episode where David finds out about Jasper would be heartbreaking. David most likely screams and curses at Campbell, and takes off. I’m hoping Gwen runs after him, but that’s wishful thinking.\

16:David gets hard

The ending is amazing, I love learning about Nurf’s trauma, and watching Gwen,Max, and David scheming is incredible. It was interesting to see Nurf's side of the story, and it was pretty good. Enough said.

15:Cult Camp

Yes, it is high. The song is amazing, the plot is amazing, and Daniel’s stupidity is amazing. He is a very good villain, and it works with the comedy of the show. If everyone wants, I will write an essay on Daniel and what he means to the show. Anyways, good episode, funny and inventive.

14:Bounjour Bonqueesha

Oh, what to say about this episode! I love Bon Bon, but her breaking up with David an hour before their date? Not so cool. Whatever. Watching Gwen comfort David made my day, my week, my month. It was amazing. The “I’m a girl” line was extremely funny, because me too Nikki. Me too. Anyways, loved it!

13:The Lake Lilac Summer Social

Oh, what an episode! Gwenvid, Makki (I sorta ship it? Eh?), love triangles, Gwen going ship crazy (me too, man, me too), and David being level headed for once. Uh, so glad this episode exists. Only bad part, Pikeman and Jeremy. That’s literally it.

12:Operation: Charlie Tango Foxtrot

The ending was gross, but whatever. No judgement. Funny episode, and I love how the experimented with the points of view. Petrol’s side was a nice gag and it was overall a good episode! No complaints other than the weird ending.

11:After hours

Honestly, this is a tie with the next one. It is a great look at what happens after all the kids go to bed, what Gwen and David have to deal with, and what goes on outside the camp. The Gwenvid is strong with this episode! It’s really funny and creative. Also, ChibiKawaiiCat97 is absolutely a real username out there, I’m sure it is. Gwen deserves all the good things.

10:Scout’s Dishonor

Neeancy, my child! Yeah! Also, Neil cursing out of nowhere? Amazing. It’s so high up because it actually was the first episode I saw a clip off! It’s what got me into Camp Camp overall, but it’s not listed up there because I do like others better.

9:The Forest

I know, not number one. It’s an amazing episode, with a great plot and a good lesson, but I physically cannot watch it without sniffling. Yes, I know, I’m pathetic for crying at this, but I really see the pain. You can feel the fear in his voice, and it always makes me so sad. Whatever, I still love this episode.

8:Into Town

I mean, I have no rhyme or reason, I just love this one. I can’t even think of a flaw for this one! It’s kind of an amazing thing! A lovely episode with good visuals and amazing dialogue!

7:The Butter Fingered Effect

An amazing episode about change. I love Neil cracking, Ered becoming a nerd, Nikki becoming a scientist, and the counselor outfit swap. I appreciate Gwen wearing David’s clothes, because that’s amazing. I like the theme of change that fits with Season 4. Good episode with almost no flaws!

6:Eggs Benefits

I love Max and Nikki interacting, trying to take care of the egg and Nikki basically having a panic attack. I just love Nikki episodes in general, ok? Don’t judge. Whatever. Preston and Nurf, were um, problematic, to say the least. Whatever, the ending was funny, and this episode is dear to my heart.

5.Camp Loser says what?

Wow… Gwen in a wood scout uniform is actually really pretty! Entire episode was pretty much a fanfiction come to life, and we love the team for that. Uh, I yearn for more fanfic like episodes. I wasn’t expecting that! Honestly, I didn’t see the twist and thought it was a good idea! Funny, creative, and shows off Max’s jerkiness. We love Max development and amazing plots. We also love a Mother and Daughter relationship between Gwen and Nikki. More of that please1

3:Gwen gets a job

This is so damn creative, I love this episode so much. Gwenvid fuel, Max being a terrible person, Gwen breaking down and David comforting her. I bet Gwen never heard a speech that encouraging in her life…

2:Party Pooper 

I know you thought this was going to be number one! Haha, tricked you! But really, this is an amazing episode. The way Gwen bonds with her father, the beautiful scene at the end, the background, everything. I love a good “Gwen is underappreciated” episode, and that’s why this gets second. Almost no flaws! Which leads to number one….

1:Something Fishy!

What an amazing episode! I have never seen “Shape of Water”, but this one is just incredible. Gwen is an underappreciated overworked mess, and she finds what seems likes the perfect option. But turns out it isn’t what it seems, and it’s amazing. Also, this episode has so much Gwenvid fuel, it’s amazing. The art is amazing, Gwen’s dress is amazing, it’s all perfect. No flaws here for me!
