In all seriousness tho, I’ll never understand mocking people for their taste in music. Like I’m not talking about joking about someone’s music taste or having genuine criticisms of an artist/music genre or whatever (or simply just not liking something), I’m talking about the people (usually on the internet) who for whatever reason seem personally offended that someone else has the audacity to like a song that they don’t. It’s like they personally make it their mission to let whoever know that the music they listen to on a regular basis is hot garbage and they need to stop listening to it or they’re a terrible person or something. Like buddy no one’s forcing you to listen to it, but if you don’t like it you don’t have to ruin it for people who do

After having it sitting in my games library for like a year, I finally got around to beating Mable and The Wood.
Tumblr media
I have no idea what the story was. I thought I knew, but then halfway through it took a turn and I never quite figured out what was going on.
The main premise is really fun. You play as a little girl with a giant sword that's so heavy she can't even lift it. Instead, she can turn herself into a fairy for a few seconds and fly around without it, only to turn back into a human and recall the sword, destroying anything in its path. It works well and is a LOT of fun once you get used to it. After every boss you beat, you unlock a new transformation. These lead to new movement options and ways to fight.
The game is buggy as hell. The amount of times I found myself glitching into a wall was almost impressive. There was a wierd bug that caused the transformation button to activate the pause screen as well, which got really annoying. The Stone Form is absolutely broken in the best ways possible. As long as you don't move, you're invincible. Magic meter only goes down if you're moving, and enemies can't touch you while you're stone. I refuse to believe the speeds you can get with that form are remotely intentional. Turning into a rock repeatedly should not let you almost fly, but here we are.
I had some trouble figuring out where to go near the beginning, but then and again, I might just be dumb.
The Steam page and achievements say something about a pacifist playthrough, so maybe I'll give that a shot? There's like no documentation on this game at all, so I have no idea how to even start that, but I can probably try.

Danny’s in Gotham living as a regular civilian or even just a literal tourist.
He’s out late after getting a burger from Batburger and in an attempt to get back to where he’s staying faster he cuts through a few alley ways with some help from his powers to stay safe.
One of the bat fam hears something from an empty looking alley and shines a flashlight in it, directly into the face of a exhausted looking teenager.
Danny, because high powered light in the eyes hurt, hisses in pain, and then runs away after seeing who just attempted to blind him. Because they’re a Bat and Danny really doesn’t want to deal with Batman.
The next morning the GPD issues a warning about a suspected vampire with a described appearance that matches Danny’s a bit too much.
Danny may have forgotten his eyes shine like a cats and that the red Batburger sauce ended up on his shirt… and that he has fangs.

I like to imagine that if Keith gets sleep deprived enough he starts rambling about conspiracy theories and cryptids. Like he hasn’t slept for 36 hours and now he’s talking your ear off about El Chupacabra.

Tim is a cryptid to the world
Everyone agrees Tims a lil frightening even the media knows this. He’s the hardest to get photos of (excluding cass) both before and after his Robin days. There are 4 known pictures of Tim on the internet. 3 are blurry and 1 is of his first day as CEO and thats it.
He knows things he shouldn’t. He’ll appear in Dicks room at just before Dick falls asleep to put Dick’s presents or new gadgets in his house. All Dick sees is a weird shadow place down new sticks before literally disappearing.
Damian didnt meet Tim till 3 months after he arrived in Gotham and generally thought Batman had lost his current Robin. He wasn’t happy to realise that “no we have a Robin you can’t be it”
He wakes his teammates up at 3 to go see weird constellations or moons or to hand them evidence they need.
The JL has seen him once and all he did was enter through the vents mid meeting, tell Batman he was stealing his lunch, chug an entire large expresso (just expresso shots in a mug) and a multiple energy drinks, before hacking into the computer and leave. He wasn’t even suited up. He had a blanket over him and his mask was hitting the light in a way that made them glow. When asked Batman won’t say who he is just that he’s “smarter than me”
Half of the celebrity world doesn’t think he exists, you glimpse him at galas but there’s no photo, the first journalist to get an interview with him gets half a million from red hood and the internet thinks Tim’s awesome and want to know how he disappears

Honestly I think what is more upsetting about these results is just how many people thought it was going to be more even than it was. I fell for it too! The sneak peek looked so close, the half time report even closer, but then...
...it kinda stings, y'know? It shouldn't have been like that. All the games I played, it felt even. I played just as much against Big Man, I thought. It definitely didn't feel like we were such a small cohort. It didn't feel like there were 55% Shiver. It felt genuinely equal and to find out it was nowhere near is soul-crushing.

it’s important to note that whatever versions on timber you have in your head, there is no universe in which bernard does not love to ramble and tim does not listen intently to his ramblings. there is no universe where bernard does not ramble and tim does not ask pertinent questions at the end like it’s a lecture and tim needs to get an A.

so we all know the doctor is bad (or at least thinks they’re bad at) the domestic stuff so i imagine life for donna becomes “take your doctor to work day” every single day.
i bet it stresses kate out so bad to find the doctor always tinkering with something they’re not supposed to be or eating all the jammie dodgers in the break room

One of my favorite things to think about when it comes to modern fantasy type stories is wonder how the supernatural elements may have influenced myths, legends or aspects of history. In a world that seems just like ours, there are so many little butterfly effects that things like magic or mysterious tech could have caused.
Infinity Train has a bunch of these. The Train picking people up would have definitely influenced history, but I like to think about how the existance of the Mirror World would have influenced things like the existance of vampire stories.
As seen with Tulip at the end if Book 1, if a Reflection ever left their post, their Prime would stop showing up in mirrors. If just a few reflections started to go rogue in the right time period, and people notice thier absence, coming to conclusions based on religious stuff and superstition, then all of a sudden you've got people being wrongfully accused of being a vampire. Over time, stories spread, and a case of a handfull of runaway reflections leaves the common story of vampires not appearing in mirrors.
A similar situation could apply to ghost stories. A Reflection runs off after their Prime dies, before the Flecs can take them to have their memories wiped and get assigned to a new Prime. Having grown attached to the family and friends their Prime left behind, they hang around for a while, watching from afar. Someone catches a glimpse of something that looks like someone who died... boom, ghost story.
Reflection Enforcement, of course, would use this sort of thing happening as an excuse to tighten their grip and use more force to keep any rebellious reflections in line. Eventually, nobody in the Mirror World still remembers a time when the Flecs didn't just jump to sanding at the first offense.
How often do mirrors seem to come up with in stories in relation to souls and spirits? How often do mirrors get used as a way to see into or travel to other worlds? How many stories in this alternate world were directly tied to reflections trying to do the same thing Lake did?
Really fun worldbuilding stuff to think about, and that's just a small part of the series. How did the Train itself change history? What events played out differently? Did it change things for the better? Or did it just make them a different kind of bad?

what's your favorite cryptid?
ahh all thirty-five of my hand drawn and collaged cryptid oracle cards! this took me about a month from start to finish, and personally i'm happy w that.
each card is three by five inches, which i think is standard tarot card size? they're all different thicknesses bc i was collaging straight on the index cards i was using as a base, but they aren't too hard to shuffle.
