Somethin’ Stupid
part two
pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
warnings: angst, lots of pining, eventual fluff
notes: part two is here! ty guys for the support and hope you enjoy <3
summary: being forced to go on a mission together allows bucky and y/n to come to an understanding
*part one
You wake up with an awful hangover and a broken heart.
A part of you had hoped that the events that had transpired last night were merely figments of a dream, a peek into some alternate dimension where you had misjudged your tolerance for alcohol and completely humiliated yourself in front of the man you were hopelessly in love with. But the glass of water paired with a bottle of aspirin and a note from Natasha excusing you from training today proved otherwise.
All it took was a single drunken confession to completely obliterate one of the most dearest friendships you had. How could you ever possibly face him after this? Not only had you completely misread his intentions, but he had responded less than enthusiastically to your profession. You’d seen it in his face, the guilt that swam in his eyes and sympathetic smile that he wore so beautifully despite how badly it hurt you. Though Natasha had cut him off before he could offer a full response, you had enough sense to know what had been coming next.
“I’m sorry kid, but I don’t see you that way. You’re just not my type.”
The mere thought has you reeling all over again as you fight to keep your nausea at bay and clumsily reach for the glass of water. You’re grateful that you’ve been given the green light to essentially lock yourself away in your room and hide in your shame for the rest of the day, but you know that eventually you’ll be expected to go back out there and resume your daily routine. But Bucky was part of that routine, and you feel absolutely pathetic as you realize just how much you’d centered your life around him.
It’s obvious that logic is not your strong suit when it comes to these situations, so it made sense that you felt the only natural solution was to simply avoid Bucky for as long as humanly possible. You’d spar with someone else, maybe ask Natasha to join you for a movie instead, and chase away your own nightmares from now on. Surely this would help you get over him once and for all.
At least that’s what you hoped.
However, you were only successful in avoiding Bucky for a straight week until Steve decided you two were the perfect candidates for a recon mission.
You’d followed Steve around the compound pleading your case as soon as he’d handed you the mission file, but the man was adamant that you were the only one right for the job.
“You’re the only one who can see inside the building without actually having to step foot in it,” Steve had reminded you, his stance firm and his arms crossed over his broad chest as he spoke. “We need to know if these guys actually have any stolen Stark tech on their hands before we risk going in there. Your vision can give us the layout of the building and determine their inventory without them even knowing.”
“If my enhanced eyesight makes me the most qualified then why can’t I just go on my own?” You adamantly protested before handing the file back to him. “It clearly states in the report that I’m not expected to go inside or make contact with any hostiles, so why do I need a partner?”
“You’re going to be too busy scanning the building to watch your own back, so you’ll need someone else there to watch it for you,” Steve reminded you with authority, his tone indicative of the fact that as Captain he had the final say. With a softer tone, he placed a firm hand on your shoulder before giving it a comforting squeeze. “Besides, I think this will be good for you both. A team only works if everyone’s on the same page, so it’s important to me that you two figure things out. Understood?”
“You got it, Cap,” you finally relinquished with a discontented sigh before excusing yourself to prepare for the mission.
You end up in the car garage a few hours later anxiously waiting for Bucky’s arrival. A part of you had considered leaving without him and worrying about Steve’s wrath at a later point, but you knew better than to test your luck. He was right about needing someone to have your back, but you just wish that someone could have been anyone else on the team.
The sound of heavy boots making their way towards you prompts you to lift your despondent gaze towards their own. Despite only having been apart from him for a week, you still find your breath catching in your throat and heartbeat speeding its pace by tenfold as you lock eyes with his stormy gaze. You have no idea what he’s thinking, and you desperately wish your x-ray vision could allow you to look into his head and read his thoughts, but unfortunately that’s Wanda’s speciality, not yours.
“Hey,” he greets with a barely visible smile that makes your chest tighten with longing. You’d think that after being rejected you’d be over him by now, but it turns out it’s true when they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
“Hi,” you murmur meekly, absently dragging the toe of your boot along the ground. The air is thick with tension as you both engage in an unwelcome staring contest and wait with baited breath for the other to address the obvious elephant in the room. After a minute, you finally speak, “Thanks for coming along.”
“No need to thank me,” he assures you in the softest tone he can muster, almost as if you’ll run off again if he doesn’t choose his words carefully. “You know I’ll always have your back.”
His reply has you swallowing harshly while your stomach twists itself in knots; this week had been miserable for you, and yet you’d never stopped to consider how Bucky was fairing in your absence. Even if he did only view you as a kid, you still had formed a close bond with the man, and it must have been jarring for him to spend his days unused to your absence. You’d essentially iced him out without worrying about the repercussions, and now here you were forced to face them head on.
“We should go,” you state suddenly in an attempt to avoid any further awkwardness. Bucky opens his mouth to protest but instead chooses to keep silent and grab the keys for his motorcycle. As much as he’s been dying to talk to you about what had occurred at Tony’s party, he knows you both need to be focused on the task at hand, so he instead chooses to offer you a helmet before starting up the bike.
The world almost feels whole again when you seat yourself behind him and wrap your arms around his torso in a tight hold as he begins to speed off to your destination. You’ve missed this closeness, his warmth, the scent of his cologne and the comfort it brings you to rest your cheek against his back as you watch the scenery pass you by. You’re not sure if your relationship with the super soldier will ever be the same, and a part of you wonders if it’s possible to borrow the time stone from Dr. Strange so you can go back and stop yourself from making such a horrid mistake. You’d feel better if you could at least know what Bucky was thinking.
Unbeknownst to you, Bucky was thinking about a lot of things.
Though everyone around him could see how stupidly blind he was to your adoration for him, Bucky legitimately had no inkling of your romantic feelings for him. The shock on his face that night had been genuine, and your confession left him dumbfounded as he scrambled to come up with the right words, but Natasha had whisked you away before he had been given the chance.
Bucky laid awake for hours that night reminiscing on all the times you’d shared together- evenings spent talking for hours until the sun came out, playful teasing over your earpieces during missions, letting you crawl into his bed at odd hours because it helped your night terrors. He could say he was simply being a good friend, a good teammate even, but he knew he’d only be kidding himself. Bucky would do just about anything you asked of him, and he knew it was because deep inside he loved you too.
The word kid had slipped out, but it was meant to be viewed as a harmless pet name. If he knew just how upset it would have made you he never would have used it, and it haunted him every single day you ignored him. He wanted to make things right, but that would only be possible if you gave him the chance.
And right now, it didn’t seem like that was going to happen anytime soon.
~~~
Your eyes are laser focused on the building before you as you nestle into the high branches of a tree and ignore the biting cold from the snowfall. Bucky is perched beside you, gaze constantly shifting as he scans the area for any potential threats to your safety. You’ve been at this for about an hour as you meticulously scan each floor in search of any weapons as well as intel regarding how many people occupy the building. Your eyes are starting to burn from the amount of strain your powers put on them, something Bucky picks up on as he places a hand on your shoulder to get your attention.
“I think you should take a break,” he prompts with worry clear on his features. Though a part of you agrees, you’re too stubborn to relent to his suggestion. This mission is your chance to prove to him that you’re not just some kid he has to babysit; you are just as capable as anyone else, and you want him to see you not as a mentee but as an equal.
“I’m fine,” you insist indignantly before returning your gaze to the weapons base, “you’re breaking my concentration.”
“Y/n, if you put too much pressure on your eyes you’re going to have a crushing migraine for weeks and Steve will have no choice but to bench you from missions,” he reminds you, and though Bucky is only trying to be helpful you feel as if you’re being reprimanded like some child.
“Are you not listening to me? I’m fine,” you grit through clenched teeth. The pressure is getting to you, and this conversation certainly isn’t helping.
“Look, just stop to use the eyedrops Dr. Banner gave you and then-“
“Oh my god, would you stop?! You’re not my babysitter, Bucky!” You finally cry out in exasperation.
“Hey!” A third voice interjects before Bucky can respond, prompting both of you to turn your heads just in time to see a man below raising his gun in your direction. You’d both been so engrossed in your debacle to notice a guard had been sent to search the area, and your little outburst had just given away your hiding spot.
Your head is pounding from the overexertion of your powers, and you’re barely able to register Bucky yelling at you to duck. The man begins to shoot before Bucky can draw his gun, and you’re not quick enough to duck out of the way when a bullet comes in your direction. It shoots straight through your shoulder blade, the force strong enough to hinder your balance and throw you off of the tree branch.
“Y/n!” Bucky cries out, eyes wide as he shoots a hand out for you. He’s barely able to graze your fingertips before you go falling straight to the ground with a strangled cry. The last thing you see is his horrified face before you hit the floor with a defeaning thud.
Everything goes dark after that.
~~~
The lights of the infirmary are blinding as you will yourself to peel your eyes open with a groan. A dull throbbing fills your head as you lift your hand to shield your eyes and attempt to sit up only to be gently pushed back down onto the bed.
“Easy there, slugger,” a voice reprimands teasingly, “Bruce says you shouldn’t be making any sudden movements for the next few days. You didn’t break anything, but you’re bruised up pretty bad and need to be on a five day medication regimen to keep the migraines at bay, and that’s not even mentioning the bullet hole in your shoulder.”
“Natasha?” you murmur hoarsely, barely making out her figure through squinted eyes. Your mind is reeling as you try to recall the events of your mission, and your stomach drops as you recall that you hadn’t been alone when you’d been ambushed. “Where’s Bucky?!”
You try to sit up again only for her to push you back down with one hand while the other uses the control pad to dim the lights in the room. You’re grateful for the pressure it alleviates, but your racing heart does nothing to help your anxious state.
“Bucky is fine,” she reassures you, “he left to get you some water, but he’s been in this room all day since you both got back.”
“What happened? I-I remember arguing with him, getting caught, falling out of a tree…”
“You hit a couple branches on the way down which is why you’re all banged up, but luckily the snow helped break your fall and prevented any further damage. Barnes was able to get you both out of there unscathed, and thankfully Bruce was able to remove the bullet out of your shoulder with minimal scarring. But… I have to say, I’ve never seen Bucky look so worried before.”
“God,” you whine in embarrassment, palms pressing into your eyes as you hold your face in your hands. “It’s like I’m incapable of not making a fool of myself every time we’re alone together.”
“Look, just stop dragging your feet and face the issue head on. You two need to work this out,” Natasha reiterates, her eyes subtly shifting to the man that enters the infirmary with a bottle of water in his hands. “The sooner the better.”
Bucky looks like a dog caught with its tail between his legs as he approaches your bedside, swallowing nervously as Natasha moves past him with a “good luck” leaving her lips as she exits the room and allows you both some privacy. You take the bottle from him with trembling hands and a quiet thank you before finally willing yourself to look at him.
“I’m sorry… this whole mess is my fault,” you murmur remorsefully, fingers fidgeting with the paper label on the bottle, "if I had just kept my mouth shut that night-“
“I’m glad you said it.”
“What?” You breathe out in surprise, unsure if you heard him correctly or if it was just your migraine skewing your perception of reality. Bucky swallows nervously before seating himself beside your bed, a bashful smile playing at his lips as he meets your gaze.
“Look, I know I reacted horribly in the moment, but it was only because I thought you were too drunk to mean it,” he confesses almost shamefully, a flash of guilt present in his features. “It’s hard to believe a woman as wonderful as you would want a tired old man like me, and I assumed it was a spur of the moment thing. But I have cared for you the moment Steve introduced you to us as a new member of the team, and I don’t go out of my way to protect you because I think you’re some incapable kid who needs my help. It’s because… well, it’s because I love you too. And I’m sorry it took me this long to say it.”
Your lips are parted in shock as you process Bucky’s words, your mind racing to catch up as you realize the man you’ve pined for so long is now confessing his love for you. A part of you is scared that this is some sort of concussion dream and that you’ll wake up to find it wasn’t real. But the feel of his hand carefully cupping your cheek says otherwise, and you nearly melt into his touch at the feeling.
“You love me?” You repeat again in quiet astonishment. Bucky lets out a small chuckle in response.
“Of course I do, sweetheart,” he reassures you with an adoring smile, “it killed me to be away from you for so long, and I hate that it took us being shot at for me to finally tell you that.”
“I guess we just operate better on chaos,” you weakly joke, smiling when it earns you another laugh out of Bucky.
“It certainly is our specialty,” he agrees with wry grin. Then, tone more serious now as he moves to take one of your hands in his own, he says, “I love you, y/n, and I’d be honored if you would give me the chance to take you out somewhere nice to makeup for this whole mess I put us through.”
With a soft smile, you give his hand a gentle squeeze and answer, “I’d love nothing more.”
And then, in the privacy of the quiet infirmary, Bucky leans in and steals the first of many kisses from you.

"As a Deaf man, Adam Munder has long been advocating for communication rights in a world that chiefly caters to hearing people.
The Intel software engineer and his wife — who is also Deaf — are often unable to use American Sign Language in daily interactions, instead defaulting to texting on a smartphone or passing a pen and paper back and forth with service workers, teachers, and lawyers.
It can make simple tasks, like ordering coffee, more complicated than it should be.
But there are life events that hold greater weight than a cup of coffee.
Recently, Munder and his wife took their daughter in for a doctor’s appointment — and no interpreter was available.
To their surprise, their doctor said: “It’s alright, we’ll just have your daughter interpret for you!” ...
That day at the doctor’s office came at the heels of a thousand frustrating interactions and miscommunications — and Munder is not isolated in his experience.
“Where I live in Arizona, there are more than 1.1 million individuals with a hearing loss,” Munder said, “and only about 400 licensed interpreters.”
In addition to being hard to find, interpreters are expensive. And texting and writing aren’t always practical options — they leave out the emotion, detail, and nuance of a spoken conversation.
ASL is a rich, complex language with its own grammar and culture; a subtle change in speed, direction, facial expression, or gesture can completely change the meaning and tone of a sign.
“Writing back and forth on paper and pen or using a smartphone to text is not equivalent to American Sign Language,” Munder emphasized. “The details and nuance that make us human are lost in both our personal and business conversations.”
His solution? An AI-powered platform called Omnibridge.
“My team has established this bridge between the Deaf world and the hearing world, bringing these worlds together without forcing one to adapt to the other,” Munder said.
Trained on thousands of signs, Omnibridge is engineered to transcribe spoken English and interpret sign language on screen in seconds...
“Our dream is that the technology will be available to everyone, everywhere,” Munder said. “I feel like three to four years from now, we're going to have an app on a phone. Our team has already started working on a cloud-based product, and we're hoping that will be an easy switch from cloud to mobile to an app.” ...
At its heart, Omnibridge is a testament to the positive capabilities of artificial intelligence. "
-via GoodGoodGood, October 25, 2024. More info below the cut!
To test an alpha version of his invention, Munder welcomed TED associate Hasiba Haq on stage.
“I want to show you how this could have changed my interaction at the doctor appointment, had this been available,” Munder said.
He went on to explain that the software would generate a bi-directional conversation, in which Munder’s signs would appear as blue text and spoken word would appear in gray.
At first, there was a brief hiccup on the TED stage. Haq, who was standing in as the doctor’s office receptionist, spoke — but the screen remained blank.
“I don’t believe this; this is the first time that AI has ever failed,” Munder joked, getting a big laugh from the crowd. “Thanks for your patience.”
After a quick reboot, they rolled with the punches and tried again.
Haq asked: “Hi, how’s it going?”
Her words popped up in blue.
Munder signed in reply: “I am good.”
His response popped up in gray.
Back and forth, they recreated the scene from the doctor’s office. But this time Munder retained his autonomy, and no one suggested a 7-year-old should play interpreter.
Munder’s TED debut and tech demonstration didn’t happen overnight — the engineer has been working on Omnibridge for over a decade.
“It takes a lot to build something like this,” Munder told Good Good Good in an exclusive interview, communicating with our team in ASL. “It couldn't just be one or two people. It takes a large team, a lot of resources, millions and millions of dollars to work on a project like this.”
After five years of pitching and research, Intel handpicked Munder’s team for a specialty training program. It was through that backing that Omnibridge began to truly take shape...
“Our dream is that the technology will be available to everyone, everywhere,” Munder said. “I feel like three to four years from now, we're going to have an app on a phone. Our team has already started working on a cloud-based product, and we're hoping that will be an easy switch from cloud to mobile to an app.”
In order to achieve that dream — of transposing their technology to a smartphone — Munder and his team have to play a bit of a waiting game. Today, their platform necessitates building the technology on a PC, with an AI engine.
“A lot of things don't have those AI PC types of chips,” Munder explained. “But as the technology evolves, we expect that smartphones will start to include AI engines. They'll start to include the capability in processing within smartphones. It will take time for the technology to catch up to it, and it probably won't need the power that we're requiring right now on a PC.”
At its heart, Omnibridge is a testament to the positive capabilities of artificial intelligence.
But it is more than a transcription service — it allows people to have face-to-face conversations with each other. There’s a world of difference between passing around a phone or pen and paper and looking someone in the eyes when you speak to them.
It also allows Deaf people to speak ASL directly, without doing the mental gymnastics of translating their words into English.
“For me, English is my second language,” Munder told Good Good Good. “So when I write in English, I have to think: How am I going to adjust the words? How am I going to write it just right so somebody can understand me? It takes me some time and effort, and it's hard for me to express myself actually in doing that. This technology allows someone to be able to express themselves in their native language.”
Ultimately, Munder said that Omnibridge is about “bringing humanity back” to these conversations.
“We’re changing the world through the power of AI, not just revolutionizing technology, but enhancing that human connection,” Munder said at the end of his TED Talk.
“It’s two languages,” he concluded, “signed and spoken, in one seamless conversation.”"

A Cat?
The Batfamily, especially Bruce Wayne, would initially be in shock. As a man responsible for Gotham’s safety, he would try to remain calm and not panic, but it would definitely be hard to see him truly calm in this situation.
Bruce Wayne
Bruce’s first reaction would probably be shock. Being a strategist and someone used to thinking logically, he would immediately look for a solution and try to figure out the reason behind your transformation. However, since he doesn’t fully understand how a cat thinks, he would get frustrated and disappointed with your cat-like actions. Cats behave so differently from humans, so Bruce’s attempt to manage a cat’s behavior for an entire day would lead to chaotic and funny moments.
Dick Grayson
Dick would likely laugh uncontrollably when he first sees you turned into a cat. He is the opposite of Bruce in terms of personality, and he would find entertainment in situations like this. The bizarre things the cat version of you does would make Dick laugh harder. However, at the same time, he would try to keep you safe and assist you with your cat form, helping you out as you adjust to the situation.
Jason Todd
Jason would react with frustration and surprise at your transformation. The fact that a cat’s behavior is unpredictable and sometimes chaotic would be hard for him to deal with, and he might be impatient. With his sense of humor and sarcastic nature, he would find entertainment in watching you as a cat, but at some point, his protective side would kick in, and he would step in to make sure you don’t get hurt.
Tim Drake
Tim, being a problem-solver, would try to find a logical explanation for your transformation. He would take a scientific approach to the situation and start investigating. While trying to fix the chaos, he would struggle to accept that the cat is still you, but eventually, he would adjust. Understanding that cats love to play and explore, he would try to keep you safe while coming up with a solution to turn you back.
Barbara Gordon
Barbara would immediately recognize that the cat is you and laugh. However, she would also make sure you don’t end up abandoned for the day, so she’d work quickly to make sure you have a safe environment. With her technological skills, she would work on finding a way to reverse the transformation. Despite your feline form, she would notice that you still have the intelligence of a human and would treat you accordingly.
Alfred Pennyworth
Alfred would calmly accept your transformation into a cat because he’s the most patient member of the Batfamily. However, having you in cat form would complicate his daily tasks. As he takes care of you, he would have to balance his duties while also catering to the needs of the cat version of you. This could be both amusing and challenging for Alfred, as he tries to make sure you’re well taken care of and comfortable.
What kind of chaos would ensue? The independent and sometimes strange behavior of cats would disrupt the Batfamily’s usual order. Batman would struggle to maintain control and lead you as the cat version of yourself, while Dick and Jason would have fun with the antics the cat gets up to. Tim would work on solving the problem, and Barbara would use her tech skills to come up with a solution. Alfred would patiently take care of you, while the chaos would unfold across Gotham, leaving the Batfamily with a day they’d never forget.

Okay! How to get Team Phantom (+Valerie) onto a DC Superhero Team?
Danny: The usual ways. They just asked him to join because he's already a superhero, he's saved from an angst-basement and has nowhere else to go, his parents/sister sign him up for a superhero internship - whatever, there's already a thousand ideas for Danny out there.
Sam: Goes full plant witch: chloromancy, herbalism, and potion arts. She's mostly a support hero... because she got caught doing an eco-terrorism and being part of a "superhero youth team" works as a Community Service option for underage meta-human criminals. Most of the heroes agree with her fundamental ideals, but they can't let her run around being judge, jury, and executioner on people who don't necessarily deserve the blame, who haven't had the opportunity to learn and change, or important people who, alive can and deaths will, start WW3. She gets told "The solutions to these problems are more than just killing the "right" people, Miss Manson." on an almost daily basis. She's more convinced to behave more like a hero because she finally finds people who do think the way she does and have more options for social change than just "break the thing that doesn't work" (and she can get a clearer list of the real people who deserve the blame for social injustices and how to more sneakily effectively remove deal with them until the world is fixed).
Tucker: An ancient Pharaoh and master sorcerer, who interacted with previous incarnations of the Hawks. They low-key adopted him, and he learned reincarnation magic just so he could spend time with them again. And since Katar and Shayera are soulmates, they call Tucker their soul-son, even though they're not necessarily the kind of people who would go out of their way to be parents, they still deeply value their relationship with this teenager. Tucker also evolved his magic into technomancy - because the core of his soul just really loves learning whatever the highest, most advanced field of study his current incarnation has access to. Also, imagine he gets giant, gold, prosthetic wings made of Ancient Egyptian magic and Ancient Thanagairan technology that his Pharaoh self made centuries ago.
Valerie: Has a Crisis of Loyalty - does she stay loyal to her ideals? stay loyal to Vlad as, essentially, his henchman? or does she find something better to be loyal to? She ultimately decides to throw away the high-tech battle jumpsuit Vlad gave her and Technus upgraded, then asks Danny for his parents' tech so she can keep being a ghost hunter. Danny's on the fence, he wants her to stop trying to kill him, but also doesn't really trust her - she's already chosen killing one of his identities over having a relationship with the other, and getting kidnapped and tortured will affect your ability trust someone. So, he passes her off to Pandora who can do a literal magical Test of Moral Character. Valerie has to essentially choose what she's actually fighting for, if she's still hunting all ghosts for the mistakes of two, if she's still working off the lies she was told by Vlad, what does she really want? When she proves that she's in it to to keep people safe and not for her own selfish vengeance, she gets sent to Pandora's old home, Themyscira, for a training montage. She comes back, looking very Wonder Woman but completely unrelated to Wonder Woman. However, Diana recognizes the Acolyte of Pandora and helps her find a nice, teenage superhero team to join up on... wait, why is the rest of her friend group already here?

I am far from the first person to bring this up, but I'm convinced that a huge part of our collective inability to regulate our emotions/our increased irritability/our collective burnout is how intrusive the world (tech) has become
my phone, in the last few days, has started randomly generating a list of articles it calls "YOUR DAILY BRIEFING". this list will pop up full-screen at random when I unlock my phone. it is unasked for. I did not opt into this. it took me three days to figure out it wasn't some hellish new feature on one of the websites I visit on mobile, but a literal app installed by my phone service provider. I only now just figured out how to disable it.
it's this exact thing—this intrusive, in-your-face, pop-up-y barrage of information—that makes us so tired. we're being contacted at all hours of the day. if you're a white collar worker, you likely carry your work in your pocket and are subjected to notifications and messages and emails at any time. the evil overlords that now rule the internet are desperate for milliseconds more of your time. everything is an ad or a scam, and it's a constant deluge of THINGS that want your eyeballs on them.
I can't recommend ed zitron's writing enough, specifically this piece, which is full of righteous anger at what's been done to tech and the internet. there are malicious actors out there who have made it their monetary goal to milk you for your attention, and their quest has made them ever-more desperate. they have sabotaged their own platforms and services to eek a higher click rate from you. they have forced bloatware-ish AI into their programs because they need to demonstrate "growth" to their investors.
tech is frustrating now, and purposefully so. there is a toll this is taking on people (because we all have to be somewhat connected these days, because our jobs and our lives are increasingly online). we're all tired because the people at the helm of the internet and its platforms have decided to overstimulate us to hell and back, and they've sold us the solution in "calming" (numbing) endless scrolls of Content on socials.

TECH MOMENTS PT. 12
The Bad Batch S1 E8: Reunion
- He looks beautiful in the sun.
- “That’s not comforting.” I say this on the daily. ❤
- Calling Omega to help him. You'd think Echo would be better suited for this kind of work, but he asked for her. ❤
- There was no need for that shot of him lying beneath the panel like that. They're onto us.
- “Hm? I just told you.” He was confused by her question, but he still answered in the best way he knew how. (I also wonder if there was a little bit of avoidance here, like he didn't want to tell his precious, innocent sister about how horrible war can be.) ❤
- “It’s most likely a short circuit.” *Immediately gets proved wrong.*
- Tapping into the enemy’s comms is brilliant.
- The way he immediately perks up when he hears Crosshair’s voice over the comms. He misses him so much. ❤
- He's totally unconcerned with being surrounded and starts looking for a solution. ❤
- Tech: “Reroute reserve power to the cannons.”
Echo: “If these cannons fire, this whole deck will collapse.”
Tech: “Exactly.” That cute little smile in his voice. ❤
- Lol, the way he DIVES out of the way of that flamethrower.
- Helping Omega into the Ion Engine and keeping his arms out behind her so she doesn’t fall. PLEASE he’s so gentle with her! ❤
- “I could not have been clearer.” ❤
- He automatically starts ranting about the blast primer coating like the sweet nerd he is. LET HIM FINISH, WRECKER. (Also, the way he strokes the side of the ship to examine it. ❤)
- “Technically, it is. I restored the ship’s main power core when I accessed the central system, which means the engines can be activated.”
- Echo: “How much time do we have?”
Tech: “I estimate less than two minutes.” Somehow not worried about his imminent death.
- How he facepalms and shakes his head when Wrecker suggests plan seven.
- That plan to blow up the outside edge of the engine is really clever.
- He lifts Omega up so she can place her explosive. (They're my favorite duo.) ❤
- “We have to get him on board!” He gets in so close to Hunter's face here, but hey, it gives us a nice view of his gorgeous eyes.

Did Geto just expect Gojo to let him get away with killing the world if he got his hands on Rika
No matter how powerful Rika would make Geto, Gojo is turning her into roadkill in 1 minute if he wants- which, since Geto knows Gojo is against his ideal world, he should know that would've happened even if he succeeded in taking her
Did Geto expect all sorcerers to rebuild civilization with no one to run modern tech like the internet, or farm their own produce for food??
Did he think every sorcerer would want that kind of caveman life?? Bc his daughters sure don't; they want monkey made cellphones, with monkey made crepes, dressed in cute monkey made clothes- no matter what Geto preaches (at least he indulges them despite his views lol)
You can say "he would keep some monkeys alive for those things", but that is hypocritical of him who preaches something as extreme as monkey genocide bc they are "useless" to the world
Hell, he was already living hypocritically bc his daily needs were all dependent on the so-called "useless monkeys" already, even if he says he tries to not use their resources as much as possible
Sounds like they aren't just walking curses to me!!
Very apparent it is a solution more born from his unreasonable hatred towards non-sorcerers than an actual plan
One person gave him a mild suggestion when he was mega depressed at 17 years old and he ran with it for 10 years 🥀🥀🥀
Idk maybe it's just me who already sees JJK 0 as a flawed piece of work in general; I just couldn't wrap my head around how he thought this would work even if he succeeded- like he is so sure of himself right up to his last moments
I still love the complexities of his character; the way Gege already let us know he was the more charismatic and approachable one out of him and Gojo, only to have him use that seemingly positive trait to grow a fucking CULT when pushed to the wrong direction is WILD
Even the way he approaches Yuta shows him being a perfect salesman at your doorstep lol

[<<< First] [< Prev]
Eggman: We now convene for the trial of Yanshu Dryll the Mole. I trust the prosecution is ready to commence?
Payne: The prosecution's been ready for days, your honor.
Eggman: And is the defense ready to proceed?
Reiker: Yes, your honor.
Reiker: (Yeah… Ready. No evidence, no alternate theories… Guess I should just pay attention and do my best.)
Payne: Seems the murderer finally gathered enough funds for a private defender. How'd you do it? Kill another robot? Rob a casino?
Eggman: Actually, this man is our new public defender. This will be his first case.
Payne: Oh, how precious… I bet he'll be running out of town with his tail feathers between his legs after we confirm the guilty verdict.
Reiker: (… Is he serious?)
Eggman: We’ll see, now… Let's not keep this waiting any longer than we already have. Prosecutor Payne, your opening statement?
Payne: The solution to this case is so obvious that no private defense attorney would even pick up the case! In fact, I almost feel sorry for the poor sap standing across from me.
Reiker: Can we get on with it instead of gloating?
Payne: So eager to face your own demise? Very well, then…
Payne: The crime took place around 8:45 PM last Wednesday. The victim, Flash Driver, is a new member of the doctor’s E-5000 line.
Payne: The victim was found with his legs battered and multiple components taken out of their rear hatch. We cannot obtain camera footage due to the parts being missing, however, we have multiple reasons to believe it was the mole standing before us today.
Reiker: Wait, his legs were battered?
Eggman: This is basic information, did you not read the autopsy report!?
Reiker: With all due respect, you never gave me the autopsy report, your honor.
Eggman: Hm… I suppose in this instance your ill-preparedness is somewhat understandable. Don't let it happen again.
Payne: Feh. Here, fledgling - your first piece of evidence. Please try to keep your gape-mouthed self from drooling all over the pages.
Strait: … I think I’ll be fine, thanks.
Autopsy Report (Flash) has been added to the Court Record.
Reiker: (I should take a closer look at that. Remember, Strait - evidence is a lawyer's best friend! Good thing I keep it Pinned at the Top of my mind!)
Reiker: I notice you haven't mentioned a motive, or why my client is your prime suspect. Was she even near the crime scene at the time of the murder?
Payne: Listen, kid, I have this case down tight. Your defendant there is one of 10 people who could have possibly committed the crime at hand.
Reiker: … One of 10? How do you figure?
Payne: Let's just call them the tools of the trade. Specifically, the tool set a Robo-Tech like her uses daily.
Eggman: Ah, you must be referring to the Omnitools, no?
Reiker: Omnitools?
Eggman: You're familiar with the concept of an army knife, correct? Imagine a compact device like that, equipped with every screwdriver, wrench, and key needed to access all the technical parts of my machines, including Robians. This one is assigned to her.
Yanshu's Omnitool has been added to Court Record.
Payne: No one could have accessed the stolen parts without those tools, not to mention that Yanshu was the last person to meet with the victim, during a routine maintenance checkup…
That was anything but routine!
Eggman: Uh... Interesting. In what way was it not routine?
Payne: Well, the perpetrator is right here. Why don't we ask her? Miss, let's start with your name and occupation.
Yanshu: Eep! I, um… M-… My name is Yanshu Dryll. I'm a Class C Robo-Tech, f-for the Main Division…
Payne: And if I'm correct, you assisted the victim…
On the day of the murder!?
Yanshu: W-well, yes, but that doesn't mean I killed him!
Eggman: The court will be the judge of that. Now, if you could please testify regarding this maintenance appointment you had.
Yanshu: Y-yes doctor- I mean, sir! I mean-… Y-yes, your honor!
Testimony 1 - The Maintenance Appointment
1:) I had been assigned to Flash to do a routine checkup, scheduled for Wednesday at noon.
2:) All the required checks were proceeding as normal, and the appointment was rather short.
3:) My boss came by and signed off on my maintenance sheet…
4:) … And shortly after that, Flash left, just like he usually does. That was the last time I saw him.
Reiker: (Hm… Not much to work with... At least that old cat has just as little information as I do.)
Reiker: (But if that’s really the case, why does he look so confident…?)
Payne: … Really? That's all you have to say?
Yanshu: Y-yes, and it’s the truth! Wh-… What more could you want?
Eggman: I will kindly ask the prosecution to not badger the witness. Now, defense, are you ready for the cross examination?
Reiker: (I need more information… Just gotta dive into the old Thought Pool and figure out what to ask. Maybe I'll glean some new information! Once I think I've got it down pat, I can Present an idea by connecting a Statement with an Item in the Court Record!)

We Like, Are Totally Spies
When we think about shows that will appeal to boys. Action is the easiest to relate. Something like; Ben 10, American Dragon Jake Long, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Justice League will be on the list. It has drama, it has fights and it's cool!
However, there has been a movement in that era where specific cartoon shows aim to get girls into action. Kim Possible, Juniper Lee, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and The Winx Club are perfect examples of such shows.
There is an odd case for more girl-centric shows. Something about the need to balance femininity with action. The show needs to feel like an action that happens to have the main characters be girls. This is where today's topic comes in. We're talking about how;

- How's the Mission, Spies? -
< Totally Spies > by Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel follows three teens; Sam, Clover and Alex from Beverly Hills living a secret life being Super Spies for WOOHP (World Organization Of Human Protection) under their boss; Jerry Lewis.
Their missions involve travelling the world. Fighting mad scientists and twisted outcasts who seek to dominate the world with style and gadgets that conceal themselves as fashionable equipment.
The trio plays specific archetypes. Sam (green) is the brains, Clover (red) is the fashionista/ boy obsessive and Alex (yellow) is the athlete and occasional nerd. Despite their differences, they share several common interests such as their love for shopping and spy skills of agility, hand-to-hand combat and espionage.
Across six seasons, the girls matured from high school to university students. Confronting the daily struggles of homework, social lives and their petty arch-enemy, Mandy.
As a vibe, < Totally Spies > fully leans into the Beverly Hills lifestyle of fabulous fashion and some familiar pop culture names of that era. The show has a mix of the James Bond type of super spy world filled with dull henchmen, high-tech machines and some tacky villains.
- Time to go to Plan B! -
The episodes are condensed into their own episode. Although there have been some arcs that follow specific villains who have a bit of history with the main characters.
Tim Scam is a former agent who went rogue against WOOHP and Terrence Lewis; twin brother to Jerry and a sore thumb to WOOHP. There also reoccurring allies as well. Brittney (cyan) who joined the team as a trainee, Dean from the three-part series < Evil Promotion Much? > and Blaine a freelance agent who dated Clover.
The conflicts, if we can even call them conflicts at all have aged rather strangely. Some of the villains commit petty crimes like kidnapping celebrities due to jealousy or act extreme. Like being anti-consumerist with the solution of destroying malls.
Yet, some are still relatable to this day such as a kid villain who is mad at his father for being busy as a commentary on how parental neglect can cause warped ideas in a child. Whatever, it's a pre-teen show. Let's not look into it too deeply.
The world of Totally Spies is also interconnected with several other shows; [The Amazing Spiez] and [Martin Mystery].
< Martin Mystery > follows Martin, a paranormal investigator for the Center with Martin's step-sister, Diana Lombard and Java the Caveman. Fighting monsters, urban legends and aliens.
According to a special crossover episode. Martin's boss; M.O.M (Mystery Organization Manager) and Jerry know each other. Likewise, in Amazing Spiez; Jerry is also the boss of the Clark siblings. Lee, Marc, Megan and Tony. Sadly, these shows were short-lived and cancelled.

It does raise an interesting point. Why is Totally Spies more popular? As a guess, I think it's because the chemistry between the characters is a lot more interesting and fun.
The three girls are best of friends and while they sometimes bicker over boys, responsibilities and opinions. They will always put their friendship and mission first above all else. It feels more real, in a superficial way.
That an actual girl would have a girlfriend group this tight-knit and if they ever become a part of something bigger than them. They would do it together.
- Here We Go Again! -
Tacky villains, cute super spy girlfriends and awesome gadgets aside. The show has a few good jokes here and there. Its art style borrows a lot from Anime and its colors are groovy to the eyes.
For a show that was meant to attract girls into action. The show has also garnered a large following from boys as well. I think another secret to the success of < Totally Spies > can also be because of its approach to the subject. Like I said in my introduction.
There is an odd case for more girl-centric shows. Something about the need to balance femininity with action. The show needs to feel like an action that happens to have the main characters be girls.
This show is a girl's show. The girls are unapologetic being girly. Doing girl things like shopping, manicure, dating and going on dream vacations but with their secret life as spies. The show balances it out with good action and is still using that girly theme to add to its gadgets.
Heck, some of the gadgets are stuff that I would personally want to have. The Jet Pack backpack, The Wind Tunnel 3000 Tornado Blast Hair Dryer, Lazer lipstick and the Compowder are on my list. Especially with its costume change function.

It's a show that embraces both ends of the spectrum and allows it to show its respective strengths rather than shy away from the themes. With the announcement that this show is going to have a season 7/ soft reboot. It does look promising with several concerns.
But I am hopeful that for a beloved show such as this. The girls will have a proper return and inspire a new generation of girls (and boys) to be < Totally Spies >

Big tech, laptop repair to be specific
On todday's episoe of "contentloadingandstuff learns how he is scamme on a daily basis", we have electronics repair. As you can see, my "d" key is not working properly at times. And some others too, but I selom use them. I took it to the repair shop (first a small, non-brand one) and they toldd me that "yeah we ddon't have a spare key so we gotta exchange the whole keyboardd". So I askedd - how much? Three ddays an 700 PLN (~200 $/180€). Nice. Except a new keyboardd costs only 200 PLN (~60$/40€) - off bran, obviously, as MSI oesn't sell specific components. It's so you come to them for your repairs an pay four-five times the actual price.
It's not only this scummy practice. It's also physical solutions. The warranty sticker is place over a screw from the laptop case so you ddon't clean/repaste/repair it yourself an pay up to big repair. But what if you needd to do so? Well, go to your local repair service an either sendd the device on warranty (two, three months) for free or simply pay at a partner establishment that has said magical sticker. You ordered a spare part andd want the repair shop to just put it in? Tough luck - most don't accept parts that aren't theirs. Because, you know, they wouln't be able to scam you out of 400 PLN andd gain the approval of the manufacturer. It's gatekeeping in the purest form - "only we have the right to fix your computer". And if you want to replace saidd keyboardd, you have to use a solddering iron because MSI ddeciddedd to fuck the user over by using soldered plastic instead of screws. It's really only to make it more dddifficult for the average person, it doesn't have any benefit and is, if anything, more inconvenient for the repair crew. Most people didddn't even see a soldering iron in their life andd so would be too lazy/scaredd to ddo the repairs themselves - leadding them back into the greedy, loving arms of the manufacturer and big tech.
It's like with jeweler services. DDon't bring your own prodduct because we won't be able to overcharge you for it andd make a disgusting profit. Or with them telling you diamonds are very valuable and rare - they are not the latter, and are the former just because of artificial scarcity. Big tech also scares you (mostly with the help of casual drone culture and smart marketing) that making repairs on your own is very ddifficuly! DDon't try it yourself!
In reality, all you have to do to clean your laptop fans is unscrew some screws, unplug some things and dtake them out. Repasting? Buy a tube of paste for 20 PLN (6$/4€) and some isopropyl alcohol for pennies and ddo it yourself with a youtube guidde. It's NOT difficult, it's NOT risky, it's not SCARY. It does NOT require specialistic knowledge. DO THIS SHIT YOURSELF! All you need is internet access, some tools/a friend with said tools and basic care to fix the majority of issues on your own.
Contentloadingandstuff out.

So I know that the address of Nick Fuentes is being posted around (I’m keeping it off of this post to prevent possible removal, but it’s all over if you look his name up on Tumblr). It appears that Google is censoring anything related to that specific address. It’s blurred out on Google Maps (though there are pictures uploaded right next to it), and the only search results I got were real estate listings.
This is your friendly reminder that Big Tech is not your friend and they will comply with the oppressors. I know it’s not the most ideal solution, but if you’re concerned about privacy and security in the upcoming years, look into alternate services for your daily online life. Proton Mail is a great service for email, and they offer other things like VPN and cloud storage. I pay for a business account (about $15 US a month) because I use extra email addresses and personal domain names, but there are cheaper or free plans available.
You can also replace most of the online tools that Google, Apple, and Microsoft provide with third party or self-hosted services like Nextcloud. I’m tech enough that I set up my own private server with Nextcloud, so I’m in control of the flow and location of my data. If you have tech inclined friends, you could discuss setting up a shared server, or look into alternate solutions.
Our digital footprints are becoming a commodity which can be sold to the highest bidder or used to train data models. While it isn’t always feasible, I urge you all to look into alternatives and make whatever changes fit your life the best. While it’s not always feasible to entirely get rid of Google, Microsoft, Apple, and/or Amazon from our lives, we can take steps to minimize what they can collect from us.
