The guy is autistic and super interesting when talking about mental health and stuff, super cool dude, compassionate and all, always has good advice to manage a house in a way that fits the neuro divergences.

He's funny as hell too. His cats are named Moose and Alsomoose.

And the advice is always super useful and down to earth, he always explain what he does, what he can and can't do, and is very thorough when he talks about hygiene and levels of risk.

Watching those will make you want to clean.

Whitening yellowed pillows is easier than you think! ✨ Wipe with dish soap + water ✨ Rinse with a damp towel ✨ Spray hydrogen peroxide + air dry in the shade (NOT in sunlight!) ✨ Repeat hydrogen peroxide step Repeat if needed. • switch out your sponges every 2/3 months for dishes

• wash down the trash can after taking out trash

•don’t forget the space under the bed when sweeping

•wipe down all surfaces! ( I always forget my kitchen table and side table for the couch)

Studying

Haruhi’s main hobby is studying. I mean, it’s what got her into Ouran High! Even if you’re not aiming to get into a luxury school, it is always a good idea to study hard so you can accomplish your dreams.

Join clubs!

Ok, technically Haruhi isn’t in a club by choice, but she does enjoy herself at the host club. Not only is it a great way to make friends, but also enrich your life! So pick a club and have a good time!!

Watch how much you spend

Being a ‘commoner’, Haruhi tries not to spend much money on things she doesn’t need. Although it’s ok to buy yourself something every once in a while, try not to excessively buy things you don’t actually need. When buying something, question how much you’ll get out the item.

Believe in yourself

Haruhi pretty much always believes in herself. She has no doubt when it comes to whether things will be ok or not! One easy way I’ve been able to believe in myself is affirmations. Things like “the universe works in my favor” and whatnot

Eye contact

Haruhi canonically has very good eye contact! Now this is one I really struggle with, but with time and practice, it’ll gradually become more comfortable and natural.

take care of yourself and your home

In her spare time, Haruhi does all of the housework. To take after this try learning some healthy food recipes, set up a cleaning routine, and helping out around the house if you don’t live alone.

I HATE SILVER

I’d toss these but they’re from my wedding. They’re stands for crystal vases and they sat on each end of our table so that my Maid of Honor and myself could put our bouquets in them.

It took an hour to polish this one.

I’m cleaning my dining room this week. Floor to ceiling. Maybe I’ll finish tomorrow.

I swept, vacuumed, mopped, and polished the floors. I took all the cob webs off the walls, corners, curtains and bottom of the furniture. Where the fuck do these come from??? I did not see this up North.

I took everything - tchotchkes, dishes, bar ware, you name it - off the table, bar and cabinets. Washed everything and then oiled the furniture before putting it all back.

Now I have to attack the fireplace and hutch (do the same as above) and finish the silver.

Last week was washing floors after emptying out 3 rooms.

I think this big old house is going to get to be too much pretty quick here!

At this point any improvements being made will not necessarily be for us but for re-sale and retirement!

happy saturday, hope everyones had a good start to their weekend!!

today I finally started deep cleaning my room, and although it's been exhilarating, it's also been a lot of fun! especially looking at all my old stuff, but it's been a little tough parting with them.

I want to officially count today as the first step towards my glow up? journey? I'm not quite sure what to call it yet, considering all the negative connotations of 'glow up.' But I'll figure it out by tomorrow.

I feel as if every good start of anything means changing environments. And whilst I don't have the privilege of moving miles away to a dream city, I can make do with fixing up the four walls I call my bedroom.

When it comes to changes, it's important to know exactly what you want to achieve and how you want to achieve it. So whilst today was a lot of work, it's just a very tiny and small beginning. I'll definently spend some time tomorrow or even today making my goals clear

Going deep

Normally the phrases "deer camp" and "deep cleaning" don't belong in the same universe.

In fact, the classic poem about deer camp, "Palace in the Popples," calls it "A smoky, raunchy boar's nest ...." which sums it up pretty well.

But then there's Sharon...

Nearly a year ago I bought this used trailer to replace the one my son and I use for a few nights each November. The old one became a little too decrepit even for us.

Naturally I cleaned this one as soon as I brought it home last fall. (Sharon would be inclined to put quotation marks around the word cleaned in that sentence, as in, "John 'cleaned' the trailer.")

My son, grandsons. nephew and I are hauling the trailer to camp this weekend and Sharon just couldn't let it go in the state it was in. To do so would have gone against her principles.

One thing is certain: It will never be this clean again.

(By the way, as I've mentioned in the past, cell and Internet service at camp are spotty; if you don't hear from me in the next couple of days, that's why.)
