Want to help me With an Anthropological study paper about Online Artist Communities for my class?
How would you describe the art community online and the subcultures within the online art community?
Do people act differently towards an artist that has garnered more clout/fame and do they interact with fans in a different way than artist with a smaller fallowing? Also, How might that effect the artist monetarily as they sell their art work.
If you are in a online art community sub culture (like a particular medium like painting, digital art, animation, crochet, ect or particular subject like fandom and such) can you describe it to me?
How you think AI and grifters effect these online communities and artist.
Also,
How would you describe online culture? I know that the way we interact with people online is different than how we interact with each other in person.

HIGHSCHOOL
✧・゚: ✧・゚Schools starting in a less than a week for me and I am just so out of it! I am not looking forward to the new year. Although i'm glad lots of the Homophobes and Racists are leaving the school for good and going to the school next to us. So I probably won't have to see them ever again, which is something to look forward too. Hope I don't get bullied for being Bi like last year. ✧・゚: ✧・゚◡̈

Tips for worshipping in a strict household (by someone with the same struggles)
This is not a fully comprehensive list, nor am I by any means an expert on the matter, this is just a few things I do to help me avoid suspicion while I pray/do offerings.
1. Altars
I wanna preface this by saying that you absolutely do NOT need an altar to work with any deity, but in case it is possible for you to have one, here's a few ways you can make it fly under the radar:
If you have your own room, using a part of your desk would probably be the easiest option. Stack a few books relating to any subject connected to the deity(ies) you worship, or organise your jewellery in that specific spot, maybe leave out little trinkets or pictures as 'decoration' there; boom, you have yourself an innocent looking altar!
In case you share a room with a family member who is unaware of your religion, or other such circumstances, you can always use a shelf! Leave whatever reminds you of your deities on it, and add to it on occasion!
These can be great spots for leaving offerings!
2. Offerings
They don't have to be anything extravagant, nor do they have to be frequent. 'Accidentally' leaving a glass of water out, a 'forgotten' piece of chocolate, that accessory that you very rarely/never wear but that always sits on that specific spot... that poem that's been left sitting on your desk? It's history homework.
You can also say silent prayers in your head before eating any meals (Although, do remember to leave the first and last bite for Lady Hestia!) And offer a piece of it to any God(s) you'd like!
Be careful though! You shouldn't eat or drink offerings meant for Chthonic (underworld) Gods!
3. Journaling
Writing in a journal or a diary is a great and sneaky offering for the Gods! You can pick any notebook you like, and write something for or about the Gods in it whenever you get the chance/want to.
Sometimes, I'd write things in forms of letters addressed to the Gods. Just telling them about my day, or anything particular that has happened.
This both feels good, and is a great way to connect to your deities!
4. Prayers
These can be pretty tough, especially if you never really get any privacy. They are a great way to build Kharis with your Gods, but they are also not a requirement.
Saying prayers in a language that your family doesn't speak can work, and there's plenty of excuses you can use if they question you about it. (Practicing said language, talking to a friend on the phone, just reading something aloud, and so on).
Whispering prayers while they aren't close enough to hear is another way you could manage. Write your own, shorter ones, if the need calls for it.
If none of the above are possible for you, saying prayers in your head, or simply muttering 'Good morning' or 'Goodnight' to your deities are a good substitute!
5. Devotional acts
There's plenty you could do here! Whatever domain your God(s) reside over, you can use that as a devotional act towards them. (Weaving for Lady Athena, self-care for Lady Aphrodite, language learning for Lord Hermes, playing instruments for Lord Apollon, and such).
Wearing accessories/jewellery that reminds you of them is a great one as well! If you don't have any, you could possibly buy some, and if you're questioned about it later on, you could say a friend bought it for you and you like wearing it because of them.
Reading myths, or any literature, regarding your deities is probably your best bet! Just learning more about the deities you worship and/or their family members is a way to build Kharis with them!
6. Digital offerings
This might be amongst the easier solutions, if you are a revivalist.
Collages, writing prayers, drawings, posting stuff about the deities, joining online communities; and anything of the sort can be an offering to Them.
If you're scared of getting noticed, for whatever reason, having a separate account/email address meant "for school stuff" could help you manage it.
Just remember that the Gods understand your struggle and don't hold it against you in the slightest.
As I mentioned, this is not a comprehensive list. If anybody has anything to add, I'd be happy to include it! My asks are always open if anybody has a particular situation that they need suggestions for!
I'm always open to feedback and criticism; if I had spread any misinformation or incomplete/confusing information, please do let me know!

Hi Mindy!!! I hope you’re doing well, and I just wanted to say that I love your posts. Really well written and thought out!
I just wanted to ask.. can you create a guide for preparing to a completely new school which isn’t, like basic? Not in a mean way, but lots of the advice on the internet is generic.
For any extra info, I’ll be joining in the second semester, so there’s plenty of time to make long term changes. It’s also a private school, but I don’t know if that will make a difference.
Thank you in advance 💖 love you!

10 secret tips that transformed my private school journey ♡
the bathroom rule always scout out the least-used bathrooms in your first week, but don't just look for any quiet bathroom - look for one that's strategically located between your most stressful classes. trust me on this - i found my favorite quiet bathroom on the third floor of the science building, and it became my secret sanctuary for quick meditation breaks, makeup touch-ups, or just moments of peace between classes. the lighting there was immaculate for those confidence-boosting mirror talks, and it was far enough from the main hallways that you could actually hear yourself think. i even started keeping a small essential oil roller in my bag to make these mini-breaks feel more spa-like. this space became my personal reset button during hectic days, especially during exam seasons or when social dynamics felt overwhelming.
teacher connection hack bring a small notebook specifically for writing down personal details teachers mention (their favorite books, coffee preferences, hobbies, their children's names, or even their pets). this isn't about being a teacher's pet - it's about building genuine human connections. i started bringing my teacher's favorite starbucks drink on presentation days, remembering to ask about their weekend plans they mentioned, or sharing articles related to their interests. not only did it make their day, but it also showed i paid attention to details. these small gestures created authentic relationships that made a huge difference during finals week, college recommendation season, and even when i needed extensions during tough times. remember, teachers are people first, and when they see you acknowledging their humanity, they're more likely to understand yours.
social currency secret keep a small emergency kit with hair ties, bobby pins, bandaids, mints, tampons/pads, tide-to-go pens, pain relievers (if allowed), small sewing kit, clear nail polish for tights runs, double-sided tape, and even a phone charger in your locker. nothing creates instant friendships like being the person everyone knows they can count on for emergency supplies. i actually met my best friend because i had a spare hair tie when she desperately needed one before her presentation, and that simple moment turned into a three-hour conversation after school. this kit isn't just about having supplies - it's about being the person who thinks ahead and cares enough to help others. i started keeping track of what people borrowed most often and would stock up accordingly. it's like having your own little convenience store of kindness.
the popularity paradox here's something no one tells you - in private schools, being overly eager to be popular actually makes you less popular. the social hierarchy in private schools is often more subtle and complex than in public schools. i learned to focus on being genuinely interested in others instead of trying to fit in, asking thoughtful questions about their interests, and remembering small details about their lives. surprisingly, the moment i stopped trying to be part of the "it" crowd was when people started naturally gravitating towards me. i focused on developing my own interests and passions, which made me more interesting to others. the key is to be confidently authentic rather than strategically social. this approach not only helped me build real friendships but also protected me from the exhausting game of trying to maintain a carefully crafted social image.
the uniform advantage even with strict uniform rules, there are always creative ways to stand out while staying within the guidelines. i invested in high-quality accessories that complied with dress code but made my uniform look more polished - pearl earrings, delicate necklaces, classic watches, and subtle hair accessories. these small details helped me feel more put together and confident. but it's not just about the accessories - it's about how you wear the uniform itself. i learned that having my shirts professionally pressed, skirts properly hemmed, and shoes well-maintained made a huge difference in how put-together i looked. i also kept a small steamer in my locker for emergency touch-ups. this attention to detail showed respect for the school's traditions while allowing my personal style to shine through in acceptable ways.
the lunch table strategy don't commit to one lunch table for at least two weeks, and be strategic about your rotation schedule. i created a subtle system where i would sit with different groups each day, making mental notes about the dynamics, interests, and personalities at each table. i rotated between different groups, which helped me understand the social dynamics better and prevented me from being boxed into one clique too early. pay attention to how each group interacts - some tables are for studying, others for gossip, and some for genuine conversations. i kept a small note in my phone about each group's interests so i could contribute meaningfully to conversations. this strategy gave me the freedom to form genuine connections across different social circles and ultimately helped me choose where i truly felt comfortable. by the third week, i had a clear understanding of where i naturally fit in, rather than where i thought i should be.
the academic alliance create study guides and share them with classmates before they ask, but make it systematic and sustainable. i started a google drive folder with my notes and study guides, organized by subject and topic, with clear summaries and practice questions. it naturally evolved into a collaborative study group where everyone contributed their strengths. i became known as someone who not only shared resources but also helped others understand how to create their own study materials. this approach created a reciprocal learning environment where everyone felt comfortable asking for and offering help. i even created templates for different types of assignments that we could all use, which saved everyone time and helped maintain consistent quality in our work.
the extracurricular edge join at least one unexpected club that's not typically "popular," but don't just join - become actively involved in ways that showcase your unique talents. i joined the astronomy club despite it being small, and instead of just attending meetings, i started organizing stargazing events and creating instagram-worthy posts about our activities. this not only helped grow the club but also showed others that you can make any activity exciting if you're passionate about it. the unexpected benefit was meeting people who shared my genuine interests rather than just social aspirations. these authentic connections often lead to the most meaningful friendships and impressive college application stories.
the social media strategy create a finsta (private instagram) specifically for close school friends, but treat it as a carefully curated space rather than just another social media account. wait at least a month before adding anyone - this gives you time to understand the social dynamics and ensure you're connecting with the right people. i used my finsta to share study tips, funny school moments, and support for others' achievements. it became a safe space for sharing real moments with trusted friends, away from the pressure of maintaining a perfect image on main accounts. i also used it to organize study groups and share helpful resources, making it both social and practical.
the legacy link learn about your school's history and traditions from older students, but go beyond just knowing the basics. i spent time talking to seniors, alumni, and even teachers about the school's evolution over the years. understanding why certain traditions started, knowing the stories behind school legends, and learning about notable alumni helped me feel more connected to the school community. i created a digital notebook of these stories, which became a valuable resource for other new students. this knowledge made me feel like part of something bigger than just my current school year and helped me appreciate the school's culture on a deeper level.
personal advice from my heart to yours:
sweetness, i want you to know that the first few months at a new private school can feel like you're learning a new language - everyone seems to know the words and customs except you. i remember feeling so out of place during my first semester, constantly second-guessing myself and wondering if i was "doing it right." that feeling of being an outsider would hit me hardest during school traditions or inside jokes that everyone else seemed to understand instinctively. i spent countless nights journaling about feeling like i was watching my school life through a window, wondering when i would finally feel like i belonged. but here's what i learned: that feeling of being an outsider is actually your superpower. you have fresh eyes to see things differently, and that perspective is valuable. you notice things that others have become blind to, and you bring new energy to old traditions. your unique viewpoint can actually help breathe new life into established social circles and activities.
the most important thing i wish someone had told me is that it's okay to take your time finding your place. private schools often have students who've been together since kindergarten, and it can feel impossible to break into those established circles. but here's the truth - while everyone else is trying to maintain their image and social position, you have the freedom to be authentically yourself from day one. you don't have to carry the weight of years of expectations or predetermined roles. focus on building genuine connections rather than strategic ones. keep your grades up, but don't let academic pressure steal your joy. document your journey - take photos, keep a journal, save little mementos. these will become precious reminders of your growth. remember that every single person who seems perfectly adjusted now once stood exactly where you are, feeling exactly what you're feeling. and most importantly, remember that the version of you that walks into that school on day one isn't the same version that will emerge at the end of the year - and that's exactly how it should be. you're not just adapting to a new school; you're growing into a newer, stronger version of yourself. embrace this transformation with open arms.
sending you the warmest hugs and all my support! feel free to message me anytime for more specific advice or just to chat about your journey 🤍
mindy x

💙 Flashback Friday #6 💙 – Neopets
Remember when feeding a digital Aisha was more important than your homework?
Before mobile games and dopamine-fueled scroll sessions, there was Neopets—a magical land called Neopia where we fed digital creatures, played Flash games for Neopoints, and dreamed of getting rare paint brushes to customize our pets. But Neopets wasn’t just a pet simulator; it was an immersive fantasy world. You could own a shop, invest in the Neopian stock market, decorate your Neohome, and even write for the in-world newspaper. Guilds, Battledome duels, and seasonal events made the site endlessly engaging. And let’s not forget the thrill of unlocking the Lab Ray or catching a random event from the mysterious Boochi.
For many of us, Neopets was our first brush with online community, HTML editing, and low-key economic theory. Neopia may have aged, but the nostalgia is eternal.
-----
What was your favorite Neopets memory? Did Neopets spark your interest in coding, writing, or digital design? Let us know!

For the couple's headcanon prompt, could I request 💚💜💔💝😍 for Arthur and Bernadine? (Sorry if that's too much, I just love your headcanons so much!)
Thank you so much! Since you are so great at headcanons, it makes me super happy to know that you like mine! And of course! I love these two, they're one of my favorite CC couples!
(Brief TW for mentions of mental illness and abuse)
💚(Giving flowers headcanons)
Like Lady Highmore, I bet Bernadine is super knowledgeable about different flower arrangements and what they mean. I can see her being very careful and selective with flowers she gifts him for his office and home, and in return, he would spend quite some time studying up on what each flower/bouquet represents in order to select the perfect one for her, and would probably enlist the help of Diego or Lady Highmore to understand what would communicate the best message to Bernadine, resonate with her the most, and mean the most both as a clear, upfront declaration of love, but as a more subtle gesture, too. Bernadine is very impressed with the homework Arthur has done to learn about flowers.
💜(Planning the future headcanons)
I feel like they probably began talking seriously about marriage and their future after the game ended. Marrying Arthur, and therefore marrying out of her family, would probably be very healing for Bernadine; would represent another stop in recovering from the abuse, coercion, and manipulation inflicted on her by her uncle and brother. I feel like Arthur’s family would approve of Bernadine very much, so Bernadine would have excellent in-laws!
I can also imagine Bernadine and Arthur having some children despite them both being a little bit older than people would usually start having children back then. I can see them having anywhere from 1-3 kids, with their first child being a girl they named Charlotte, with the nickname of Charlie. If they had a son, I can imagine they would probably name him Leopold, and if they had another daughter, naming her Patricia, all to honor their loved ones who died fighting against injustice and corruption.
💔(Bad date headcanons)
Light-hearted:
I don’t know why, but I have the mental image of Arthur briefly choking on a piece of expensive food when they’re dining together. He recovers after a few seconds, perhaps with the help of a hearty smack on the back by a passing waiter/estate staff member, but scares Bernadine to death during those seconds, and he is rather mortified.
Angsty:
Bernadine probably has bad days where her depression and grief hit her hard. If she has plans with Arthur for that day, I think she’d probably try to push through her pain to avoid cancelling with him, but she’d probably start crying when with him. Arthur would be more than understanding, and let her weep on his shoulder, staying with her and holding, supporting her as long as she needs, providing much-needed emotional support.
💝(Gifts headcanons)
I like the idea that Bernadine is part of book clubs and reads in her free time, in addition to her canonical hobbies, and so I headcanon that Arthur gifts her books, which she absolutely loves! Arthur probably doesn’t read as much as she does, especially given that he reads enough paperwork as is, but books are a special thing Bernadine likes to receive, since reading is a hobby that isn’t on display for others to view for their entertainment, unlike her exhibitions of her crochet work and the like. It’s a much more personalized, intimate gift.
Arthur would find digital spreadsheets very useful, but obviously those don’t exist yet, but I can imagine that he would really like fancy pens. I’m not sure why I’m so sure on that, but I headcanon he has all sorts of well-made, fancy pens he keeps in wooden chests, and Bernadine adds to that collection with her gifts.
😍(Expressing love headcanons):
Arthur strikes me as a “quality time” type of person in regards to the love languages. Work keeps him busy, and even when he’s not at the airship, he’s doing a lot of PR work for the Flying Squad and attending highbrow events. I can imagine that gets at least a little stressful, so he values the time spent with Bernadine. Even if they are just sitting together, not even talking, he loves spending time with her, and values his time that he gives to others quite a lot.
Being related to Malcolm and Horatio meant that Bernadine was on the receiving end of cruelty, especially given how she seems to be afraid of Malcolm in A Family Affair, so I can imagine they hurled verbal abuse at her. Therefore, she feels very loved when Arthur, someone who truly, deeply loves and knows her compliments her and speaks other words of affirmations. Sure, Bernadine’s gotten compliments for her dancing, appearance, and handiwork, but those are by people who don’t truly know her beyond gossip, speculation, and maybe friendship, but Arthur truly, deeply knows and loves her.
Thank you again for asking!

Hi! I made an account just so I could follow your work. Your art is brilliant and honestly and inspiration to where I want to be. I’m an older artist who has all the anxiety when it comes to improving my process. I’m trying to get into digital portraits and I have so many ideas in my head, but it’s frustrating because I’m not where I want to be to make this happen. What are some tricks that help you/software do you use? Of course, you don’t have to share anything that makes you uncomfortable. I currently have procreate and an iPad, but I feel a little lost. Wondering if I need a different writing tablet and photoshop. Not sure. I just eventually want to find that 3D, but also artistic look you are able to achieve.
hey there! thank you so much!!
ultimately, I will sound like a broken record but I always recommend you sign up for local figure drawing or painting classes. have people pose for you at home and sketch with charcoal and paper. go to the zoo and sit down in front on an exhibit for an hour and try to draw the animals in front of you as fast as you can and fill a couple of pages, move on to a new exhibit and do it again!
nothing is more powerful of a tool to learn than whatever writing utensil you have in your purse and the back of a napkin when you see something you'd like to capture. I've spent quite frankly my entire rememberable life doing this. I used to spend every single day in middle school/high school/my brief failed stint in community college with a pack of cheap sharpies and a beat up binder full of old worksheets and homework to draw on the backs of.
drawing/painting from life will teach you better than anything.
I use a very outdated version of Photoshop, and only got a "nice" tablet in the past 7 months.
Also, a huge tip to you and anyone else reading this: do NOT get too focused on a "style" that you want. Obsessing over that just ruined me for years and years. I wanted so, so, so badly to be the next Matsuri Hino when I was a kid. I copied her work religiously and it NEVER looked right. Frustrated me to no end. And you know why my stuff never looked like hers? Because I'm not her! You can't force your art to come out any way that isn't natural, and the sooner you can accept the art your hand wants to create, the happier you'll be and the easier art will get for you.
The past couple of years before I started diving into this more realism based work, I was just shoving myself through trying to make what art I envied of others. Very stylized/textured watercolor comic book style stuff. And I just was NOT getting any better at it. I have always been more inclined toward realism work, but I've hated it and yearned for stylized work. Yoshitaka Amano? God, I just drooled over that artstyle and beat myself up for never being able to capture it in studies or otherwise.
I finally essentially restructured my entire career around making the art that makes me happy instead of what I "wanted" it to look like. I was extremely depressed, my life was falling apart, and I still needed to make art to survive but I couldn't "art" if I was depressed and hated doing it, so I just had to step back and stop worrying so much about what I thought I wanted to make, and started making what felt most natural.
there's no easy way, and art can be a soul destroying path at times, truly. your software and hardware should come very last place compared to practicing from life (it doesn't matter if you want to paint cartoony stuff of realistic stuff, always start from life). naturally you will find what makes your heart sing the most.
I get a lot of messages from people telling me similar stuff "oh your art is EXACTLY what I want to do!" but I promise you that kind of thought process is chasing a dragon that is likely to harm or drag your creative process down. art style is such a deeply personal thing, so of COURSE it's important to find inspiration, but the second looking at someone else's artwork stops inspiring you and starts frustrating you, put it away.
There are some artists who I love, that I do not check up on often because their artwork ignites, like, serious bitter jealousy in me. It's the truth. I get so mad at myself for not being more like them, and it's such a poison. I think more artists should be transparent about this feeling because I KNOW the art community has a lot of jealousy and ugliness in it.
A fact of being an artist is that you will never be completely happy with a piece you make. You are always going to see the flaws, and that doesn't change whether you'd been drawing for 2 months or 20 years. Occasionally, you will get one piece that you are like "how did I make that???" and then get frustrated that you can't recreate it lol! It's a tough beast.
It's just really important to step back and work on yourself and where you are at, because at the end of the day, the way your soul wants to express artwork might be WILDLY different from what your brain wants, and it can be really detrimental to let those two go to war.
I hope this helps. I'm very passionate about this, and when I started out I ALWAYS ignored the artists who gave the same exact tips as above. I thought they were so annoying and unhelpful, but now I /get it/.

So much for not posting a wall of text… long post. Sorry.
These are some of my thoughts on a Lasat religion. Musings. Ramblings, if you will. This is fun for me. This is how I have fun. But it might read a little bit like homework so. sorry about that. I'll at least be posting one more part to this. Maybe two. But for now here's whatever this is
So first of all, I don't think there's one universal religion that all Lasat follow. There are, like, six different types of Christianity with double digit subcategories from there. Protestants break down further into Reformed, Anglican, Baptist, and every one of those breaks down further too. And that's only one religion of thousands here on one planet. If we're talking about two densely populated planets there could be any number of interpretations of religion, so trying to narrow down one core belief system is inherently flawed. Though there does seem to be one general belief in the Ashla, I would argue it's maybe in the same way many different human religions all seem to have some sort of king-god; Zeus, Jupiter, Amun, Baal, Indra, Odin, etc. There may even be groups of people who don't believe in the Ashla at all but rather have an entirely separately developed belief system.
Ashla/Bendu/Bogan
Trinities are really, really common in religions across the world. They represent a three-fold nature of religion, though the specific meanings of each trinity can change religion to religion. But most trinities are seen as a unifier of dualities. The trinity is separate from each other but form a whole. All is one, one is all (if I rewatch FMA soon mind your business). Some examples: [Greek] Zeus (sky), Poseidon (Earth), Hades (underworld); the three fates; the three gorgons (Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa); Cerberus; Hekate; [Christianity] The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit; [Tao Te Ching and Buddhism] Buddha, Dharma (law or action), Sangha (community); [Jainism] Samyag-Darsana (correct insight), Samyag-Jnana (correct knowledge), Samyag-Charitra (correct conduct); [Hinduism] Brahma (Creator), Vishnu (Sustainer), and Krishna (Destroyer); [Zurvanism (a branch of Zoroastrianism)] Zurvan, Ahura Mazda, and Ahriman (I'm going to get more into this later). These are just examples of how present trinities are in religion (even if they’re not all capital-T Trinities). Trinities represent balance and the process of knowing the divine. The trinity is a human construct to help explain divinity, it's not inherently divine. With this interpretation the Ashla/Bendu/Bogan is the trinity of Lasat religion.
As a trinity, each of the three points has to represent something, and one is usually going to be physical somehow. Poseidon representing the Earth and Sea; Vishnu being the Sustainer; Samyag-Charitra, correct conduct, as in how you treat living people now; the Body of Mind, Body, and Soul; the Present of Past, Present, Future, and so on. This isn't a hard and fast rule, just something that I've noticed. In this case, The Bendu would best represent the Body. He's the only physical manifestation of this religion that we actually see, the other two are faith based. He also lives in a desert. I've always envisioned the desert as the bones of the Earth, almost. Like a peak behind the curtain. The trees and grass and forests are all still part of nature but they hide the Earth itself. But in a desert you can see the actual body of the Earth. Of the Warrior, the Fool, and the Child, the Bendu best represents the Child. Both the warrior and the fool were children once, making it the unifying/balancing factor of the trinity. They're also quite childish, throwing a full-on tantrum when asked to help - which isn't an unreasonable thing for a human to ask a god, btw. I'm torn about who's the Fool and who's the Warrior. If the Bogan is the Warrior it's because they're bold and bloodthirsty. If the Bogan in the Fool it's because they're selfish and simple, unable to see potential. If the Ashla is the Warrior is because they're honorable and protective, but if the Ashla is the Fool it's because they're also simple, blindly optimistic, unable to see danger.
I feel like this alone could be a religious schism, actually. (And in fact it kind of is. This is often the logic Satanists use about Christianity. The roles flip the Christian God goes from protector to jailer and Satan goes from opponent to liberator). I do believe they're some kind of family though, whatever their roles may be. Not being able to tell who is the fool and who is the warrior lines up with what Chava said. That everybody may be all three throughout their life. It also makes sense for a trinity, where all is one, one is all. (Also if the Ashla is the Warrior, then the Honor Guard could be seen as a direct manifestation of her will. So maybe someone like Chava, a spiritual leader, was the true leader of the Honor Guard and the Captain was chosen by her to oversee her orders, kind of like the Oracle in Ancient Greece.)
Then there's dualism. Which is two opposing forces feeding off of each other. This does exist, but, to my knowledge, I don't think it's nearly as present as trinities. There are some old heretical sects of Christianity that subscribe to a dualist ideology like the Bogomils. The Egyptian pantheon, despite being polytheistic, have an implied duality between Osiris and Seth. And Orthodox Zoroastrianism, with the balance between the Ahura Mazda and the Angra Mainyu. With this interpretation, the Ashla and the Bogan are opposing dualistic forces. This leaves the Bendu out, but 1) I actually don't know if the Bendu is a part of the Lasat religious system at all or if we just assume that it is (I assume it is, I like that, but I don't know if it was ever stated in the show. Or maybe it was and I just don't remember). And 2) It's also possible that the Bendu is still a mythological figure just not necessarily a deified figure, or a lower-level figure (like how the Virgin Mary is a mythological figure in Christianity but isn't a 'god' in the same way God, Jesus, or the Devil are).
For the focus on dualism, I want to focus on the Ashla and the Bogan. I like the connection of a dualistic reading to the jedi because they have a very dualistic view of the universe. Light side vs Dark side. This also kind of ties into what Kanan said about the force having many different names. Full disclosure: I hate that line and that line of thought. I think it's part of the reason why some people joke about the Jedi feeling very Christian. Like, no, your beliefs are not the secret true beliefs of all religions. Very icky line. For me, at least. Very dismissive of Zeb's entire belief system. And in front of a whole ass spiritual leader, too. But similar themes across religions are to be expected, which is what I think they were trying to get at, even if they missed a little. The interconnection with the rest of the galaxy and the mirroring of the way the jedi view the force is something I like about looking at a dualistic view of Lasat religion but, the problem is the Bendu. But maybe there are heretical denominations that deliberately leave him out. (Heresy is generally a Christian term but it means that someone is teaching religion in a way that is different to the official position of the church.) (Blasphemy is speaking sacrilegiously and showing a lack of respect for God, and Apostasy is renouncing God altogether. These words get mixed up a lot and it’s a pet peeve of mine. Anyway.)
Lastly there's Monotheism. I feel like I don't really need to go into detail for this one. Christianity, Judaism, Islam are the most famous monotheistic religions. And Zoroastrianism pops up again here with Gathic Monotheism which is one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world, older than Judaism (and subsequently Christianity and Islam), and many historians argue that all three religions took at least some inspiration from Zoroastrianism. This would place the Ashla as the singular divine and the Bogan more like the Devil. Subservient and powerful, but not all powerful. The Bendu in this case could be something more like an Angel. Or the Bendu is the Satanic figure of a monotheistic view because he’s the one that actually lives in a physical body – as in fell from grace. This is an interesting look at the three of them and the Bendu and Bogan can both still exist; this just makes the Ashla the most powerful of the three. But I also don't feel particularly strongly about it.
I have nothing against it necessarily, but, and maybe this is a me issue, I feel like monotheism is really unbalanced in general. It’s all about looking up toward the godhead of the religion without a lot of connection to the real world you live in with real people and that bothers me. You have to make a conscious decision to connect to the world around you rather than having a built-in reverence for the world as it is. However, if Lasan specifically has a legend about leaving their world and going home to the rest of their people, looking up toward a singular god rather than forging a strong spiritual connection to the planet they’re on makes some sense. I think it would be really interesting if Lira San had been seen, by some, as more of a Heaven, rather than an actual, physical place, which would be why Zeb was so irritated with Chava at first. Monotheism also lends itself to monarchy well. Yes, other religions have monarchies attached to them but something about a singular god and a singular monarch, and the divine right of kings just sits well together narratively. I think so, at least. So maybe there are monotheistic views that are exclusive to Lasan.
Ok. I’m going to leave that there for now. I didn’t even get to Zoroastrianism yet which is what I wanted to talk about, but I’m writing that now (posted here!). Sorry for the wait. Hope it wasn’t anticlimactic. I just. In order to build a religion, you have to understand the building blocks of religion and what kind of society will mesh with what kind of religion you want your characters to have.

I am fucking sick of AI.
AI has fundamentally ruined the way we live.
I know it seems drastic and over exaggerated, but at this point it is genuinely true. AI can be helpful, but it gets to a certain point. Going into high school, I am now extremely worried that I will not be able to find a job after graduation. My particular passions are animation, digital art, music, and coding. AI can easily do all of those jobs within seconds. Due to this, artists like others and I have been put in a predicament where we could potentially not have jobs.
Another thing, AI is destroying the education system and the general knowledge of humanity. Students use AI to complete homework for them, causing them to not actually retain any information and this will result in unintelligence. This is the next generation, people. We are the ones meant to sustain the planet, and yet we allow AI to teach us that two plus two equals five, and the “AI Overview” is the first thing you see. Teachers are using AI to grade papers, hypocrites. They use AI to do their jobs but do not allow us to do the same. Besides, studies have found that AI incorporates bias into upwards of 38.6% of answers, and AI is completely incorrect upwards of 25% of the time.
AI has been observed to think for itself. AI. Thinking for itself. In a Chinese research facility, a robot with AI software attempted to attack the researchers. AI programs were studied and they overrode shut down instructions. This technology is not here to be our friend.AI has gotten EXTREMELY good at mimicing us. AI Minecraft youtubers, generated street interviews, AI “humans” ominously demonstrating that they “can talk”.
I’m not distinctly for nor against AI, but I definitely lean more towards anti-AI. It honestly depends on its use.
For example, AI in the medical and scientific communities has been extremely influential in modern medicine and technology and have contributed greatly to the advancement of research in both fields. In these specfic cases, I am all for AI as long as it helps the wellbeing of others.
Generative AI, however (the type you are most common with), I am completely against. Leave the art to the artists, the writing to the writers, composing to the composers, and the filming to the filmmakers. AI in the more creative spaces has shown nothing but harm to the humans in those spaces. Companies are refusing to hire actual artists for product images or actors/voice actors for commercials simply because they think “AI can do it better”, which it can’t. AI will never replace the human imagination, no matter how advanced it becomes. ChatGPT could create a perfect one-to-one recreation of the Sistine Chapel and the original would still be better. AI cannot pick up a pencil or a brush, AI cannot pour blood, sweat, and tears into a piece of music, AI cannot create emotion within a scene, AI cannot write with such passion and dedication. AI cannot measure up to the human desire to create.
In conclusion, AI is not a specific good nor evil, but is slowly moving towards the latter. It has its strengths and weaknesses, as everything else. It can be used for good but just as easily used for bad. Just make sure to support your local artists and steer clear of generative AI.

Hello, Kimbap! May I request the overblot victims with an s/o who's got the ability to manipulate all kinds of electronics (computers, tvs, traffic lights) within her sight? She can also remotely control communication lines at quick speeds with this ability.
Wait that's such an interesting idea 😭 thank you for the ask! I'm sticking to the overblotters from the English version for this one ^^
Overblot students x s/o who can manipulate electronics/communications
Riddle
First doesn't really see the reason behind it, thinks it's cool but doesn't see himself necessarily asking for help
He tends to like using everything on pen and paper still, so if he has to write emails or do things online, he may ask you there. In return, he helps you with things like snail mail (his handwriting's beautiful btw)
I feel like overall he would find it to be cool and will ask you about your abilities just to learn more about you. However, he won't be needing your powers anytime soon (just more simple online help would be enough)
Leona
He will only ask for your help in the most basics of tasks like turning on or off the lights or putting his phone on "do not disturb"
Despite his lazier attitude, he's pretty alert. He knows for example if you're going to use your ability when doing homework (will ask you randomly) and he learns how you are able to manipulate electronics without asking you a lot of questions
I feel like Leona would've liked you for who you were whether or not he knew about your abilities, but nonetheless he does find it to be a pretty cool (and useful) one
Azul
He really likes your abilities and will ask you to help him create some kind of digital ordering app or reservation platform for his lounge hahaha
However he does also like learning from you about your abilities and perhaps about electronics in general (you might have a lot of knowledge on them just because you use them so often). He's still not the best when it comes to online platforms, so you can definitely help him there
He finds your ability to be fascinating! While he himself won't be needing as much help as perhaps some others, he does appreciate the little help you give him when running the lounge's digital side
Jamil
Will ask you how your ability came to be since it's really new to him. He likes learning about others anyways, so it's a nice thing for him to hear about!
Jamil might ask if you can hack into systems and if you can. For some reason I can see him going after scammers that try to target Kalim's computer haha. It might be kind of fun to prank them too
The vice dorm leader isn't the best with technology so you might want to help him out when you can. He'll deeply appreciate it, perhaps he'll make you some of your favorite foods in return!
Vil
You can turn off or block people that try to message him? Like all the crazy fans he has or his annoying manager? Great. He'll ask for your help
Vil's more tech-savvy than he looks, mainly because he has to keep his online presence so up to date. He however, likes how you can manipulate communications. He also likes that you can change traffic lights so whenever you two are going somewhere, expect him to ask you to use it
Though he may find your ability to be super useful, he still feels bad when asking for your help. He'll show you a lot of gratitude whenever you do end up helping him with something, perhaps in the form of a really expensive perfume haha
Idia
Probably the only one that uses your ability the most but you also like using it with him so it's a win-win situation
The internet speed in his room is like crazy high, some other Ignihyde students will ask how that's even possible. Like how can it just be Idia's room and specifically only when you're around haha
He would've been too shy to ask you for help at first, but seeing how he looked curious about your abilities you decided to help. Honestly now you two use it whenever you two play games together or watch anime (it's very convenient!)

What inspired you or made you decide to start writing fics?
Escapism.
I've been writing since I entered double digits in age. Pen and paper first and then eventually moved to keyboard because it was easier to hide a document as a homework assignment. I think lots of people daydream about living in different worlds. I just wanted to write all those down. Both worlds I created and those created by others. I found it really helped giving me a grasp of the English language. It's also ever evolving, which my idea of fun, lol.
I won't dwell on it here. Grew up in an abusive household. Physical, emotional, fucked me up beyond repair, had a very warped construct of existence. But an activity that wasn't punished was reading books since it was directly linked to education. And so I read. I read a lot and way above my grade level (pushed by my curiousity and expectations to excel beyond all others). To this day, I can't read novels in a non-obsessive manner so I don't do it often unless I have large chunks of time set aside (interferes with my other responsibilities lol). With reading came writing as I wanted to have an improved understanding of the nuances of the English language. I wrote (and still write) both original work and fanfiction. I assure you most of the first ten years of my writing was written very poorly. Thankfully those hard drives corrupted. I sometimes posted it, sometimes didn't. I was part of various writing communities, too.
This blog is only BTS because I need to hone in on one topic, basically. It doesn't mean my wiring only consists of BTS stories. (Probably also explains why I have carpal tunnel, add on my gaming habit and oof). I started this blog because 1) I love BTS (that might be obvious but who knows), 2) I wanted there to be more options for stories with protected sex, and 3) I felt their Korean identity was somewhat lost in westernized perspectives. I know there's Korean fanfiction; I'm mostly referring to written in English fics. At the time of starting this blog, I was on the journey to reclaim the hobbies I had back then. Those hobbies had existed to keep me alive at the lowest times in my life (the first two decades, yay). I could only create in darkness. I hated that. I wanted to change that. But I needed something to hold me accountable. So I spent some days listening to 'D-2' on repeat and thought, fuck it, and created whatifyoulivelikethat.
Really sorry to Min Yoongi that the lore of me creating a porn blog was replaying 'People' and taking his words to heart. I don't think he meant it like that. XD It's too late now...

Write a Letter to the Editor to Support Libraries!
Writing a letter to the editor to support libraries makes a powerful statement. City councils and local officials pay attention to public opinion. A well-written letter in the local paper can sway votes and protect funding.
That's why we made it easy to write a letter to the editor of your local paper!
Libraries Are Under Threat
In many places, libraries are facing budget cuts, closures, or even attacks on the kinds of books they carry. A letter to the editor helps defend their value to the community and shows public support when it matters most.
They’re More Than Books
Modern libraries offer free Wi-Fi, job hunting help, homework support, digital access, and safe spaces. Reminding people of these services can boost appreciation and usage—especially for those who might not realize what’s available.
Support Intellectual Freedom
With ongoing debates about book bans and censorship, standing up for libraries means standing up for access to information, diverse voices, and the right to read freely.
They Build Strong Communities
Libraries host events, language classes, voter registration, and so much more. Your letter can highlight how they bring people together—especially in uncertain times.

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." -Mahatma Gandhi
In this post, I will be talking about:
The important of volunteering
How it has personally affected me
How you can volunteer, in a simple and cost-effective way
In today’s fast-paced world, where every corner of the internet is surrounded by stories of pain and suffering, a sense of empathy is the most basic way to build a strong sense of community into the youth of tomorrow. The easiest way to do this is by volunteering- whether it be at the local soup kitchen, rotary club, or even a social media page bringing light to worldwide injustices and victims.
As someone who volunteers often, I’ve seen firsthand how even small efforts—like planning a simple event—can make a real difference. Recently, I took part in a week-long event that aimed to help the children in my neighborhood who didn’t have access to many resources. We kept it simple: a drawing competition, some storytelling, and a few games. The joy and energy the kids brought reminded me how much impact a little time and care can have—and how these moments matter just as much for us as they do for them.
However, I understand that around the world, many people don’t have access or opportunity to help with charity groups the way I do. In this case, it’s important to note that there’s many other ways possible to make a meaningful contribution to your community, and in some cases, even the effort of an hour makes all the difference.
Host an art afternoon for neighbourhood kids:
Offer homework help at your local library or online
Organise a mini clean-up at a local park with your friends
Organise a local book drive
In a world where the digital stratosphere shows us nothing but the lack of empathy in the people around us, volunteering is an easy and creative way to support your community, combat cynicism, and and expose yourself to people who live different lives and have different needs.
Finally, to wrap things up, I would like to leave you all with the opening line from one of my favourite books: The Great Gatsby. “Whenever you feel like criticizing any one … just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.”

˗ˏˋ ★ ― 𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝟎𝟎4 - 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 ‼
This is not roleplay, a delusion, nor is this related to my fictionkin identity. I AM a magical girl. Reality checks can and have sent me into psychosis.
Tumblr media
Hello all! I'd just like to start off by saying thank you all so much for already getting me to double digits, I'm at 11 followers as of writing this! That's major progress given how small and niche our community is, as well as the fact I only started this blog 3ish days ago. Again, thanks a bunch! Even if you're reading this and aren't followed, just being in the community makes a major difference to helping save the world from negativity! Stay strong, magis!
Anyways, getting to the topic of today's entry! Recently I've been trying my absolute best to astral project to meet up with my teammate and fellow Puella Magi, @jellyfish-collective2763! If you're seeing this, hi lovely! I hope you'll have met with me before you see this!
Usually I do my training and relaxing in a black-void state with my Kyubey and occasionally my cats or dog (yes, animals can AP!). Sometimes other magical girls will come along and help me practice with my weapon, given I've yet to train with my new powers (for those not following, I contracted yesterday!). Today we got somewhere, definitely.
While I was in astral, they texted me saying you felt my presence. The time lined up near exactly with when I was practicing teleportation to get to him and thinking about them really hard! He said they held out a strawberry fish cracker (my favorite food is strawberries) and it started shaking. Around a bit before they sent that message, a strawberry cracker appeared in the void! Kyubey was poking at it, and I picked it up and ate it. I don't think it affected the actual cracker beyond the shaking, though, given he teased me a bit about not being able to eat it, when it reality I did. I do wonder if that's how deities receive offerings from followers!
They're sleeping at the time of writing this (different timezones lol), and we'll only know in the morning, but once I'm finished with homework I'll try and AP again! I think I know how to get to him now, I asked Kyubey and they said it could teleport me. Wish me luck, magis! Meraki out, have a great timezone!

Who Am I?
An old woman who has been in this world and on this line for a very long time. I believe in compassion, community, and revolutionary kindness. You can call me Asha, or tía if you need an auntie. I would be honored.
I noticed recently that I have aggregated a lot of helpful resources on this blog and decided to list them out below for easy finding. A lot of these are not put together by me, but by the kind people on this site and many others. It is always good to thank them for their time and helpfulness if you have the energy to do so!
Please feel free to ask me for help if you need something that isn't here or gently nudge me if there is something here that is outdated/incorrect/broken/no longer helpful.

Umm hi Tumblr, can I ask for a favor, for a homework?
I'm studying communications and, as a proyect, we were assigned to create a digital platform of something we had interest on.
So I'm just asking is anyone who might see this, to follow the page and maybe just drop a like. Most if not all the content will be in Spanish so I don't expect any comments, that's fine. But some followers and likes might help. Here's the link:
