This a a reminder to not fall victim to the sunk-cost fallacy. Just because you invested time and energy into something, does not mean you should indefinitely waste more time and energy on it, if you decide it’s not what you want anymore. This goes for anything, from books, to relationships, to jobs, to hobbies, etc.
If it’s not serving you anymore, move on.

Need a 911 fic where Buck hits his head and is disoriented and confused when he wakes up. He thinks him and Eddie are dating.
Not because he has an amnesia or anything, but because Ravi was the one helping jog his memory and nothing Ravi knows about the 118 is right.

Untying the Knot: Navigating Divorce and Separation with Grace
Introduction: Life's journey is filled with twists and turns, and sometimes, relationships that were once a source of joy and companionship reach a crossroads. In the bustling modern world, divorce and separation have become integral aspects of many people's lives, requiring a delicate balance of emotions, legalities, and personal growth. In this article, we delve into the complexities of divorce and separation, offering insights on how to navigate these challenging transitions with grace and resilience.
Understanding Divorce and Separation: Divorce and separation are distinct but closely related concepts. Separation involves the decision to live apart from one's spouse or partner, while divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage. In Australia, divorce can be granted after a separation period of at least 12 months, during which the couple lives separately and apart.
The Emotional Landscape: The emotional impact of divorce and separation cannot be underestimated. Feelings of grief, anger, sadness, and even relief often intertwine during this tumultuous period. It's crucial for individuals to allow themselves the space and time to process their emotions, seeking support from friends, family, therapists, or support groups when needed. Embracing self-care and practicing resilience can aid in coping with the emotional rollercoaster.
Legal Aspects: Divorce and separation often involve navigating legal procedures, which can vary from one jurisdiction to another. In Australia, the Family Law Act 1975 governs divorce and separation matters. It's advisable to seek legal counsel during this process to ensure a clear understanding of your rights and responsibilities regarding property settlement, child custody, spousal maintenance, and financial arrangements.
Communication and Collaboration: Open and respectful communication is key when navigating divorce and separation. Clear communication can facilitate discussions about property division, child custody arrangements, and financial matters. Collaborative approaches, such as mediation or collaborative law, offer alternatives to the adversarial nature of court proceedings, promoting amicable solutions that prioritize the well-being of all parties involved.
Prioritizing Children's Well-being: If children are involved, their well-being must take center stage during divorce and separation. Co-parenting arrangements should be carefully considered, focusing on maintaining stability and minimizing disruption in their lives. Children benefit from witnessing their parents working together to find common ground, even if their romantic relationship has ended.
Financial Considerations: Divorce and separation can have significant financial implications. Property division, spousal maintenance, child support, and the division of assets like bank accounts and real estate require thorough attention. Seeking advice from financial professionals, such as accountants and financial planners, can ensure that the financial aspects are dealt with comprehensively.
Personal Growth and Moving Forward: Amid the turmoil of divorce and separation lies the opportunity for personal growth and renewal. Embracing self-discovery, setting new goals, and nurturing one's passions can pave the way for a brighter future. Many individuals find solace in support networks, therapy, and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment.
Conclusion: Divorce and separation are undoubtedly challenging life events, demanding emotional resilience, legal awareness, and effective communication. Navigating these transitions with grace requires a blend of self-compassion and practicality. By prioritizing emotional well-being, embracing collaborative approaches, and seeking professional guidance, individuals can emerge from the process with newfound strength, resilience, and the hope for a fulfilling life beyond the end of a relationship.

can't express accurately how happy it makes me that c.s. lewis did not leave room for many interpretations in narnia. it's christian and you can't get around it. susan chose to care more about worldly things than what matters and he said what he said. the lion is Jesus. evil is evil and good is good and people have to choose. and that makes some readers angry because it's nearly impossible to ignore and they want to ignore it. they want it to be something else and they can't make it something else without making it not narnia. love that. that is doing it right
#that's. how. it. should. be#if there's room for interpretation in your writing as a christian you are doing it wrong#if people read your work and get to pick and choose what it means and you left it OPEN to interpretation-#-and they can divorce your fantasy world from the truth? you are doing it wrong#looking at you john ronald reuel#readers you're upset because susan cares more about “nylons and lipstick” than Aslan? 1. that's not really what lewis said#2. you should be upset because she made the wrong decision#and if you're upset because you can't get around the christianity in narnia let me share something with you - that's the point#it's a christian series#it's telling you christian things. this is not lord of the rings. this is not Cool Fantasy World open to interpretation#you can't worship the fantasy world and ignore the christian truths#you can't separate the two. that's what it should be#that's what all christian writing should be#if you write something amazing and centuries later people host parades for your fictional world and there's no God in it? no truth?#wrong. you did it wrong. they should not be able to separate the two - unless the point of your writing was to write a cool story#congratulations you wrote a cool story. but did it point people to the truth? unavoidably? no? then what a waste of freaking time#what a waste of a beautiful God-given talent#okay I got off on a tangent#my point is: be upset because Narnia is Christian and you can't get around that with ease#I am so. glad. you can't get around that with ease#this is why Lewis is my favorite author in the root of me#he did it right. this is what we as christian authors should aspire to#not LOTR. it's so funny watching the spanners and the tuff guys both going through their own separate divorce arcs because they're somehow doing the same thing in completely opposite directions. every conversation between the spanners starts with them trying to work together before eventually devolving into yelling at each other and falling apart, and then meanwhile every conversation between the tuff guys immediately starts with them arguing and then resolves with them all saying "alright, let's just agree that we all hate each other, okay?" and functioning completely perfectly afterwards.

I think one underrated tragedy of Ice King's scars is that he probably took away Simon's sense of levity.
Like in his very limited appearances before Simon is consumed by the crown we see he's kind of a silly dude. In his introduction video, he only put on the crown in order to playfully tease his fiancee. Plus watching him make light of the loneliness and general misery for a young girl in a broken world. He was a dedicated man, who was generous and loved with his whole heart and threw himself one hundred percent into everything he did. He was also a fun lil guy.
But after almost a millennia of being a mad man, the brunt of every joke, someone who only existed as a broken caricature of himself and couldn't be counted on to take anything seriously, I imagine he was done with it. Now he wants to focus back on his academic endeavors, on his role as a father figure in Marcy's life, on being a proper adult. Any attempts to be silly could easily remind everyone - including himself- of Ice King, something he's eager to avoid.
So his jokes and jibes and general lightheartedness turned to sarcasm and self deprecating comments.

i am going to say something controversial yet brave…..mel’s loneliness and desperation for connection is the exact psychological profile i’d expect to see in someone who is normally a rule follower but would also willingly steal someone’s husband……
anyways…..do y’all know of any husbands who might want to be stolen? just be on the lookout, guys!

Perfect Disaster
Dick loved Jazz. He really did. She was incredible—strong, smart, funny, and probably the only person on Earth who could keep up with him in a spar without wanting to throttle him. She got his jokes, finished his sentences, and punched him in the arm whenever he got too smug.
They were supposed to be perfect for each other.
So why was he in love with Dan?
Why had his wedding day been filled with flashes of ice-blue eyes and a voice that always sounded just a little too unimpressed?
Why did his stomach drop every time he thought about Dan looking at him with something almost like affection, only to turn away like it had never been there?
It was driving him insane.
And Jazz—God, poor Jazz. She was so good, so devoted, so present, and Dick? Dick was the worst husband alive.
He’d caught himself zoning out during dinner last week, staring at his fork like it was the most interesting thing in the world, because Jazz had mentioned something in passing, and his brain had gone straight to how Dan would never say something like that. Dan doesn’t talk that much. Dan doesn’t talk at all unless he had to.
Jazz deserved better. She deserved someone who wasn’t actively fantasizing about her brother at the worst possible moments.
And worst of all?
She had no idea.
He was a such horrible person
Jazz was losing her mind.
She was in love with her husband. She knew she was. Dick was amazing—bright and loud and brilliant, always moving, always there. He made her laugh, he made her feel seen, he made life fun.
So why was Jason the one she thought about late at night?
Why was it his voice that echoed in her head when she had a bad day? Why did she find herself catching her breath when he smiled, when he laughed, when he looked at her like she was something worth knowing?
It was awful. It was disgusting. It was—
It was fine. She’d bury it. She’d ignore it.
Dick loved her. She loved Dick. Everything was fine.
Except…
Except Dick had been distracted lately. Not in the normal “up all night on patrol” way. No, this was different.
He was off.
He’d started spacing out in the middle of conversations, looking guilty when she caught him. He’d smile too wide, laugh too loud, cover up whatever he was thinking with that performance of his, but Jazz knew him too well.
Something was wrong.
She wanted to ask, but she didn’t. Because if she asked, maybe he’d ask back. Maybe he’d say why are you acting weird too? Why do you freeze when Jason calls? Why do you look at him like—
No. No, she wasn’t going to think about that.
Everything was fine.
Things got worse.
Dick started overcompensating.
Big romantic gestures, flowers, expensive dinners, soft kisses on her forehead, murmured I love yous like he was trying to convince himself they were real.
Jazz responded in kind.
Lingering touches, doting smiles, playing the role of the perfect wife because God help her, she was going to make this work.
And in their desperate attempts to fix a problem neither of them had named, they didn’t notice what was happening right in front of them.
Didn’t notice the way Dick’s eyes always strayed when Dan was in the room, how his voice softened just slightly when they spoke.
Didn’t notice the way Jazz’s breath hitched when Jason laughed, how she leaned in just a little too much when he talked to her.
Didn’t notice that they were both drowning, clinging to each other in a sinking ship, hoping that if they just held on tight enough, they wouldn’t go under.
And it was only a matter of time before the whole thing collapsed.
It all came crashing down over brunch.
Dick had been jittery all morning, bouncing his leg under the table, stirring his coffee five times before taking a sip. Jazz had been the same, shoveling food into her mouth like it might stop her from blurting out something catastrophic.
They were a mess. A mutual, collective disaster.
And then—
"Jazz, I—"
"Dick, I—"
They both stopped, blinking at each other. Jazz swallowed, setting her fork down.
"You first," she said, voice tight.
Dick inhaled sharply. This was it. This was the moment he ruined everything.
"I'm—" He scrubbed a hand through his hair, bracing himself for impact. "I'm in love with someone else."
Silence.
A long, heavy, horrifying silence.
And then—
"Oh thank God," Jazz blurted out, nearly knocking her coffee over.
Dick blinked. "What?"
"I'm in love with someone else too," she said, her shoulders sagging like someone had finally lifted a hundred-pound weight off her back. "Oh my God, Dick, I thought I was the worst person alive, I was so scared to tell you—"
"You were scared?" Dick let out a laugh, giddy with relief. "Jazz, I have been dying inside for months. I was ready to take this to my grave!"
"Me too! I literally almost repressed myself into a coma!"
"Jesus Christ," Dick groaned, pressing his forehead to the table. "I thought I was going to break your heart."
"I thought I was going to break yours!"
They both sat there, laughing, light-headed, free.
A moment passed before Jazz smirked, leaning forward. "So. Who is it?"
Dick hesitated. And then, because there was no point in lying anymore—
"Dan."
Jazz's smirk vanished. Her eyes widened. "Wait—my Dan?"
"Uh." Dick winced. "Yeah?"
She blinked. Then blinked again. Then—
"Oh my God."
"What?"
"Oh my God, how could we not see it before?" she muttered, rubbing her temples.
Dick frowned. "Wait. See what? What does that mean?"
Jazz took a deep breath, and then—
"I'm in love with Jason."
It took a second for that to register.
Then—
"MY Jason?!"
Jazz shrugged, unapologetic. "Apparently."
Dick gawked at her. "No way."
"Yes Way."
"Oh my God."
"Right?!"
For a long, long moment, they just stared at each other.
And then—
They started laughing.
Deep, gut-wrenching, gasping-for-air laughing. The kind that hurt. The kind that felt like they were unraveling years of tension in one go.
"How did we not notice?" Jazz wheezed, wiping tears from her eyes.
"I have no idea!" Dick gasped. "I was so busy feeling guilty, I didn’t even think to ask why you kept getting all weird around Jason!"
"And I was so caught up in my own disaster," Jazz snorted, "I didn’t even see you staring at Dan like he personally invented the concept of breathing!"
They both dissolved into laughter again, until finally, finally, the weight of the past few months lifted completely.
Jazz leaned back in her chair, still chuckling. "So. What do we do now?"
Dick hummed, stretching his arms behind his head. "Well. We could get a divorce."
"Obviously."
"And then we could—y'know. Maybe—try something else?"
Jazz smirked. "Are you asking me if we should ask each other's brothers out?"
Dick grinned. "I mean. I feel like we kinda have to at this point."
Jazz snorted. "God, we are such disasters."
"Yeah," Dick agreed, still grinning.
They clinked their coffee mugs together like it was a toast and for the first time in a while didnt feel the overwhelming weight of lying to your patner.
Somewhat Inspired by EDA's beautiful art, Thank you, @demonic0angel , for being so ridiculously creative and talented that I can’t even sit back and enjoy your work in peace.
No, instead, you had to go and make me feel creative too, and now I have the unbearable urge to post things. I hope you’re proud of yourself.

touya is halfway through his workday, grease up to his elbows, little jumpsuit half undone down to his waist, when iguchi comes in to tell him "someone's askin' for you out here".
he's not sure who it could be, but there's no telling, so he just decides to take a smoke break and wander out of the automotive garage, maybe imagining one of siblings out on the pavement.
but the minute he sees you, he stops. nearly drops his cigarette on a rough, "oh shit."
it's been a while since he's seen you, a year or two, and the packet of paper in your hand can only mean one, bullshit thing.
"nah, nah, nah, i ain't signing any papers," is how he greets you, shaking his head the minute you start up the path with a big, determined frown. touya doesn't run, but he sure twists on his heel and starts back up the path, too, as you start calling out his name.
practically all of his coworkers are watching when he comes back into view, not bothering to hide how nosy they're being. their audience makes you falter just a tad and touya clings onto it; anything to stop you.
"never a good sign when your wife comes to find you at work."
there's a long silence, from everyone. when he looks back at you—at your manilla folder and carefully stapled documents, your petition for divorce—your eyes are heavy and wet, almost the same way they were when the two of you stood in a courtroom, lying about your age in order to pledge until death do you part.
almost. now they're just sad.
from somewhere in the garage, toga calls out a bewildered, "you have a wife?" that makes him feel a way he can't understand, both amused and devastated all at once.
your wedding ring isn't on your finger, but if he stares long enough, he can maybe see the difference in color of your skin, a former tan-line that's begun to fade.
he sold his for stuff he shouldn't have been buying, stuff that ruined him and you and your marriage, a long time ago.
but touya only smiles, and calls back, "yeah, i do."

tianshang babysitter au, where TLJ is a single dad, and SQH is the babysitter he hired to care for LBH while he worked.
--
On top of writing PIDW, SQH also worked odd jobs to make money, and this week, he got a more permanent job offer as a babysitter with pretty high pay. He felt completely out of place when he arrived at the huge mansion. He rang the doorbell and jumped a little when he heard a deep voice over the speaker.
"Are you here for babysitting?" The voice asked. Even without seeing this man, SQH could tell he was exhausted.
"Y-yes"
"Oh, thank god! Come on in." The gate swung open, and SQH nervously walked to the door.
At the door, he was greeted by a tired looking dad holding his kid.
"Please take care of him. Whatever you need or want can be ordered with Alexa. His name is Binghe, and he has no allergies. Nap time is at 12" The guy handed the baby over to Shang Qinghua and wobbled over to the couch and passed out.
SQH stared at the Binghe, and Binghe stared back with those innocent looking eyes.
He walked around the house, just trying to find where everything was. On the fridge, there was a schedule including feeding time, nap time, and bath for Binghe, and on the counter, there were dozen clean bottles and formula cans.
The house was stocked with everything.
"Well...Binghe, it's just going to be me and you for the next couple of hours. What did you do for your dad to pass out like that?" SQH asked Binghe. The baby couldn't reply and just giggled at SQH.
The next couple of hours were uneventful, just a regular babysitting job. SQH nearly forgotten that there was someone else in the house until the guy sneaked up behind him as he was putting Binghe to bed.
SQH was going to scream, but a hand covered his hand. And the guy quietly guided SQH out of the room before dropping his hand. The dad let out a sigh of relief before he started to introduce himself.
"Hi, I'm Tianlang, Binghe's dad. Thanks for coming on such short notice, and sorry for passing out. Let's talk a little more about the job."
Now that SQH could see TLJ's face fully, he couldn't help but admire those sharp features. He looked very much like a DILF
TLJ noticed SQH staring and blew him a little kiss, causing SQH to turn red from embarrassment.
"Hahaha. I know I am handsome. You can stare if you want." TLJ was having a bit of fun teasing SQH. His reactions are so entertaining, and after the year TLJ had, he needed a little laughter in his life.
--
That's all for now.
Me: I'm going to finish writing my other AUs
also me: adding another WIP to the list

Kenta knowing and acknowledging that neither Pete nor Tony have ever seen or cared about him and how that started his love story with Kim, how hearing him admit that no one has loved him is what opened Kim's heart to this broken and lonely man and how much they've both gained and grown from Kim taking care of Kenta and Kenta slowly opening up to him... and how Pete keep proving, again and again, that Kenta was right and how much that's starting to piss Kim off and he's definitely gonna end up using everything he's learned from Kenta to go rescue him. Hopefully after punching Pete.
