18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI
tags: @illiana-mystery
warnings: swearing, crime, betting
“Tim!” I called as I ran down the hallway. “Tim! Wait up!” Tim paused and turned to look at me as I slowed down before I crashed into him.
“what’s up?” He asked as he put a hand out to steady me. “Something wrong?” I shook my head as I took a deep breath.
”grey wants me to ride with you today.” I explained. “Something about testing under pressure.” I smiled at him.
“grey…” Tim muttered as he ran a hand down his face. “Alright come on.” He handed me his bag and headed off in the direction of motor pool. I trailed behind him and checked out the shop while he put everything in back.
“so you want to tell me what this is about?” I asked once we’d rolled out. “Grey seemed to be holding back laughter when he told me what was going on.”
“Grey has a bet with Harper and lopez. At least that’s what Angela told me. That we wouldn’t be able to work together under pressure. So expect the worst of the worst calls today.” Tim sighed. I nodded and looked out the window. "I can't believe they pulled you into this."
"From what I've heard, it sounds like a standard practice when two cops start dating from the same department." I offered. "We don't outrank each other or anything so they just make sure we can still do our jobs. Apparently."
"Doesn't mean that I have to like it." Tim shot back. I nodded.
"Oh I know." I agreed. "And the fact that there's a betting pool on all this also pisses me off." Tim nodded as the radio went off.
"7-Adam-19, robbery in progress. Corner of South Spring Street and West 5th Street." The dispatcher came over the radio. Tim sighed as he picked up the receiver.
"7-Adam-19, show us responding." He said as I turned on the siren and we took off.
"Who would want to rob a book store?" I mumbled as Tim picked up speed.
"A book store?" He asked, glancing over at me. I nodded.
"Yeah. That's where the last bookstore is." I said. "Either they are dumb as fuck or they got their hands on something really expensive."
"I'm going with dumb as fuck." Tim said as we pulled up. The robber ran right in front of the shop and I took off out the door before Tim had even put it in park. The door slammed shut behind me as I tackled the robber. Tim slowed to a stop next to me as I handcuffed the guy and read him his rights. "All this for college textbooks?" Tim said as he picked up the books that had fallen in the tackle.
"I mean they're expensive for sure." I said with a shrug. "But there are other ways to get them."
"Not when the college wants double." The robber mumbled.
"My man," I said with a pat on his shoulder as I lead him to the shop. "Amazon is your friend. Buy it used. A million times cheaper." The robber sighed as I helped him into the back seat. "One down." I said as Tim closed the door.
"A million more to go." He finished. We got back into the shop and drove back to Mid-Wilshire. Throughout the day, we continued to take the roughest calls. Thankfully none of them ended in a shoot out. "And that is end of shift." Tim sighed as he pulled the shop back into motor pool.
"Shall we go see how those odds ended up?" I asked as I stretched once I got out of the shop. Tim nodded, reaching out for my hand. I took it happily before we went to find the two detectives. "Alright. So how'd we do?" Angela and Nyla both applauded us as we walked over.
"What?" Tim asked.
"Thanks to you two, we just got a bonus and Super Bowl Sunday off." Angela said with a smile as Nyla patted Tim on the back.
"Wait you both bet we would handle it?" I asked, looking between the two. "Fuck."
"Of course." Nyla said.
"Who would bet against the two of you?" Angela said with a smile. "I mean aside from Grey but he doesn't spend as much time around you guys as we do."
"The two of you are powerhouses on your own. It only makes sense that you would dominate when you work together." Nyla said with a shrug.
"Then I expect part of that cash." Tim said, smirked over at the two. "And getting Super Bowl Sunday off. Especially if the Rams play." Angela and Nyla nodded as Tim nodded with a smile.
"I swear..." I laughed. "This department." Tim wrapped his arm around me and I leaned into his side. "How do we ever get anything done?" Everyone laughed as Tim looked over at me. He leaned down and kissed me softly.
"How do we?" He asked quietly.

Weird gender discourse thing that I'm sure people have commented on before is that in vaguely-progressive-but-not-explicitly-sex-positive spaces (and probably in some of the explicitly sex positive spaces too), masturbation is viewed as something empowering for women but sad and kinda gross for men.
Actually, this extends outside of just progressive spaces. A lot of misogynistic incel-adjacent guys seem obsessed with how much they jerk off and how pathetic this is of them, while basically not seeming to talk or think about female masturbation at all. Obviously it's not exactly the same thing, but it still points to a weird double standard.
I think the reason for this is probably the confluence of a few dumb ideas about gender, and about men specifically. The first is that men are universally obsessed with sex, to the exclusion of all or most everything else. The second is that a man's worth is dependent on his ability to seduce women. The upshot being that if a guy jerks off a lot, this is both a vindication of the presumption that he is sex-obsessed and an indictment of his ability to actually acquire sex from real life women. The general negativity towards male masturbation follows from this.
My impression is that regressive ideas about female masturbation mostly exist in the form of an absence: women are presumed to lack sexual agency and so in many cases it is not even presented to them as an option that they can masturbate. Anatomically speaking it also seems like it's more difficult for the average cis woman to reach orgasm than the average cis man, so the lack of explicit information on how masturbation works if you have a vagina is perhaps extra detrimental. On the other hand men are assumed to be highly sexual from a young age (this is its own issue—if you start paying attention to the way young boys are sexualized, it marks itself out as a pretty unsettling aspect of the culture), so it's assumed that masturbation is something they will figure out themselves and do in excess unless they are actively dissuaded from it.
Anyway it's fine though. There's nothing wrong with jerking off. It's literally no big deal.

New scenario in the car: I don't know if you youngster's remember a tv show Recess, but there's one episode where everyone is curious about kissing and stuff and decide to do an experiment and TJ and Spinelli draw the short straws to kiss and report back. When they do kiss, there's this scene of like, fireworks and rainbows going off in their heads (This one)
Tumblr media
And just picturing Ace and Yuu playing Spin the Bottle or Truth or Dare (or whatever the kids are playing these days) and having to kiss, mentally it's like this but Seven forbid they let anyone know they enjoyed it, especially Ace/Yuu, so they make a big performance of gagging and going "ew gross" once the kiss is over. Smash vut the them alone in bed flustered screaming into a very tired Grimm/Staring at their ceiling paralysed with committing the feel Yuu's lips to memory.
Or something, hope you're keeping well x
The only thing I really know about this show is that my mom didn't allow me to watch it. I'm oldish myself just. Homeschooled :/
Truth or dare makes the most sense to me. And for some reason I see Epel as being the one who would put up the dare.
"C'mon." He's smirking because he can't really help it, he does find this situation hilarious. "What are ya, chicken?"
And sure, you and Ace try to act like it's a gross idea and make your standard embarrassed protests but Jack is the only one really siding with you because he's a stick in the mud but of course Ace has to call him that out loud. So you know what never mind, Ace have fun kissing the prefect he's doubling Epel's dare and now Epel is clucking a surprisingly accurate chicken call with Deuce as Sebek turns this around on you because. idk you made a joke about "kissing the homies goodnight" to Malleus once and he asked if that meant he should give Sebek a kiss on the forehead and he's never forgave or forgotten.
Anyway Ace tries to play off the nerves because don't worry he's had a girlfriend before. He knows how to kiss somebody alright? Doesn't matter if you've dated before or not, whatever you have to say on the subject is going to fluster him because well. However you feel about this he's wanted to kiss you for a while, and unlike anything he shared with his girlfriend kissing you... he doesn't know how you feel but he can fool himself into thinking there's love in it. It's hard for him to lie when he's pressed so close to the truth. So you both pull away and make big fools of yourselves, but the act is bought because your friends are admittedly sort of dumb.
All of your friends except Grim who has to see you stare at a wall between treating him like a plush toy and screaming about how you are so fucking stupid for not putting an end to that dare while you still could because you wanted your first kiss with Ace to be REAL-
(he doesn't sleep at all that night or really talk to Deuce the next morning. he's got a stupid text message three words long he's typed out and deleted so many times but he really wishes he had the guts to hit send this time because- he wants a do over. he didn't get to kiss you right the first time.)

I know you've been a fan of Jimin for a while and as someone who only became a fan in 2023 I wanted to ask you a question about this:
https://x.com/moonlightkive/status/1831725500626030765?t=4WIxob-Fc9xmk510LqQbmg&s=19
Even in the short time I've been a fan of Jimin I learned not to always trust what armys say about him. So I'm not sure what information is true and what is exaggerated or even completely made up. I've seen this dieting subject be brought up before when it comes to Jimin and it seems that the general concensus in the fandom is that Jimin struggled with that more than the other member, but is that actually true or is it just another case of armys's double standards when it comes to Jimin? Like, I've seen people mention him doing extremes diets, something about him not eating for 10 days, about him passing out multiple times, starving himself, being concerningly thin back in 2016 or 2017 (I don't remember what year exactly they were talking about and looking at him during time I didn't really notice it myself), and a bunch of other stuff. Is any of that true? What I'm guessing is that probably only some of it is true and possibly exaggerated, but I can't be sure. So that's why I'm asking you, cause I figured you'd at least know more than me. Cause some people seem convinced he had an ED, and I don't know how I feel about people diagnosing him with something serious like that.
Yes, it's 10000% an exaggeration.
Jimin never showed or gave anyone reason to believe that he struggled with an eating disorder. Everrrr. I want to give people the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe Jimin's talked about it the most through the years so everyone has the wrong idea, but I can't even say that. I can't even say that Jimin's talked about skipping meals more than the other memebers, because it's just not true.
The only thing that's happened is army being stupid, honestly. That's really it. Their tunnel vision and their inability to put two facts of someone together and make that someone a complex, real person. They look at Jimin (and all the other members) as if he's a fiction trope. And they keep talking about a nonexistent eating disorder because it fits the trope they've made up of him; frail, skinny, gay, cute, too nice for his own good, defenseless.
Yoongi has legs like toothpicks and he doesn't get eating disorder allegations. Why? Because it doesn't fit the musky-perfumed, whisky lover, smoker, granddad idea of army. I'm pretty sure last year he also said on live something about eating one meal a day.
You can see Jungkook literally binge eating in every BTS content ever filmed. After binge eating he starts talking about how he needs to lose weight and shouldn't eat anymore. Every. Single. Time. Eating disorder allegations? No, because he's got pecs and like two defined abs. Eating disorders go both ways. Binge eating as a habit is ALSO an eating disorder. And for the record, I doubt Jungkook binge eats like that 365 days a year for all meals, but if he did, it would be an eating disorder and army still wouldn't say anything as look as he "looked" healthy.
Some recents comments about food/eating that BTS members have made:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jimin:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I'm pretty sure there's one from last year too where he told a fan to not skip meals.
It really is just army's tunnel vision.
They've chosen this career and they've always known what it would entail. Dieting and fasting before schedules is something normal to them. It might not be normal for you, me, or some dumb armys but it is to them the same it's normal for bodybuilders and people like Michael Phelps to eat 12k calories a day -which also isn't normal for like anyone in the planet-.
If dieting is an eating disorder, then I think we should go ahead and say all idols have an eating disorder including the other six members of BTS.

that just an oreo vid pointed out yet more ways the episode doesn't work that I didn't even pick up on at first
specifically he points out the episode frames Verosika as being in the right for being mad at Blitz breaking up with her and it being OK for her to be endlessly hung up and bitter at him over it
but when Blitz is rightfully upset that Stolas starts making out with someone else right in front of him after acting like he wanted to work things out between them, Verosika tells him to stop and that being a better person means just letting go of all his anger immediately
besides Verosika knowing nothing about what actually happened between Stolas and Blitz, it's another double standard - Verosika, Stolas and a whole party full of people can be angry at and hung up on Blitz for as long as they want for whatever petty reason they chose (Dennis is there, after all) and it's totally a therapy group session and not petty at all
but Blitz isn't allowed to be frustrated with or annoyed at Stolas for ditching him to make out with someone else literal seconds after he gave Stolas the apology the owl had been psychologically battering him for all episode???
it feels dumb even analysing it, because the answer is so obviously: anything anyone wants to do or say to Blitz is fair game, even if they weren't actually dating (naming no names, Stolas) but any feeling he has in return is invalid - in fact it's proof of his immaturity and fear of commitment
I already thought Apology Tour was bad but I was willing to look at the Verosika scene as the high point of the episode. in hindsight that was just because it was the one part of the episode outside of the apology montage that didn't have Stolas in it.
It really feels like Blitz is in an abusive relationship with both the show itself and his own creator. his feelings just don't matter anymore; they're only ever proof of how bad he is that he doesn't just sacrifice his autonomy immediately to shove himself down into the small space of being Stolas' romantic fantasy that the show has decided is the only acceptable path for him and the only way he can have character development that's good or acceptable
It's all true, and it makes for a completely joyless viewing experience. Not only will Blitzo never escape his abusive relationship, he won't even be allowed the respite of having his feelings acknowledged as valid. He's just unequivocally wrong, and if you feel otherwise, then Viv doesn't like you as an audience member much and she doesn't care who knows it.

Prompt/Relationship Analysis/Headcanon DPxDC
Okay This can be taken as a prompt~ As I love to dive into possibilities of WHAT IF- Basically after becoming friends/adopted by the bats and entering the hero circle he starts to become insecure in his place as a hero. Not feeling good enough.
So I can imagine after Danny befriends/gets in touch with the batfamily in some way. Like they've pretty much adopted him and now he's surrounded by heroes- (Both from Gotham and outside of it) That he starts to get insecure about his heroics as phantom. He starts to get to know other vigilantes, some with similar struggles and then it just dawns on him that they're better at it then him.. in every way. There is always someone who has one of his powers and does it better. Who can do the only thing he has been dedicating himself to- way better. And it hurts. Danny who grew up with a "perfect" older sister and being known as the failure of the two-I can see his insecurity eat at him. The feeling of not being good enough. Which is bad if mixing his trauma and guilt of a future that never happened or fear of losing everyone. ESPECIALLY because he's close to the bats.. The batfamily are perfectionist- because they have to be but Danny can't see that. Even rougher if the bats don't even realize they're doing it. Yeah they're better at sneaking, duh. They're highly skilled, because they've trained on it to be that way. Even if they don't hold the standard on Danny's head- it kills him to know he with all his powers is struggling to be as good as them. Can see only ones really about to notice are like Duke and Steph, or like Kon and other YJ members. Those that know how it feels to be next to them. Kon or Steph having to basically spell it out for Tim- which Tim like what? Then realizes and feels dumb because its so obvious. (plus having felt that way before just feels like a double whammy) (Can see all the bat members having felt that pressure too so its like an OOF how did I not notice moment) Or Step and Duke spelling it out for the rest of the family.. like DUH =w= Babs probably figures it out too. Imagine a cute heart to heart with Duke and Steph, and Alfred. Those picking up on the reason WHY Danny's acting strange. Danny pushing himself harder- feeling guilty about making it a competition but also not wanting to fail- ends up breaking down a little. Because he feels not enough. Even if he had reconciled with his parents and everything- still lingers that he was failing school.. struggling as a hero, struggling with relationships. Now he with other heroes and the doubts are so heavy. But he has no choice to pull through. So he does as he always does and keeps going even if he's crashing. Danny just not realizing his worth, despite everyone seeing it. Idk just seem like a perfect bonding moment for after Danny enters the dc world, for the bats to be like OH fucking right. Because they just accepted him as their own- Like setup for each bat to have their own one on one with DAnny. Each relating in different ways. Learning each has their own motivation and they all worry about not being enough- but how they cope. Danny rethinking reasons why he saves ppl- and in the end its just because he CANT let things happen when he has the power to stop it.. And even if he's not enough- he's there. And that can make such a difference. ......IDK if any of this made sense btw- couldn't focus properly at work because many scenarios of this was popping in my head. Still can't focus enough to keep a consistent thought- BUT I wanted to get this out <3 Because the scenarios in my head are so cute.

I have already talked about how people hate Rory for the same negative traits that they ignore or even praise in Paris but I would like to talk more about the narrative that Paris is sooo hard-working while Rory just slides through life on pure luck and privilege.. because that's literally not what happens. Let's break this down:
Claim 1: "Rory is privileged while Paris is hard-working."
How is Rory more privileged than Paris? They are literally both white and go to the same fancy prep school, except Paris went to fancy schools like this literally all her life while Rory transferred in her sophomore year. I would argue Paris is more privileged than Rory. Out of the two of them she is the one that grew up in a mansion with lawyer parents and a silver spoon in her mouth, while Rory grew up in a shed (they lived there for more than half of her childhood) with a single working blue-collar mom. Yes Rory has rich grandparents and will inherit one day but she didn't even really know them until she was 16, so she didn't benefit from their money and connections for all her childhood, while Paris has.
How is Paris more hard-working than Rory? They are both top students in the same prep school, they are both in the student government and school paper, they both built that house one summer. People love to say how "Rory never has a job" but Paris literally didn't have a paid job till she was 21 and when she got one she spent the whole time complaining that she has to work. While Rory worked at the inn part-time in high school, worked at the school cafeteria in Yale, did the inventory at the Stars Hollow bookstore (although this one annoys me because she ended up spending more on books than earning), did the internship at Mitchum's newspaper, worked for the DAR, at the Standford Gazette and then had the tutoring business along with Paris. She worked, we just sadly didn't see it that often.
"But Paris had extracurriculars" so did Rory- the aforementioned student government and paper, volunteering to build the house that one summer, and I am sure all those years of helping out at Stars Hollow's festivals and town events count. Rory had extracurriculars, volunteering and work experience, while Paris only had the first two.
Claim 2: "Rory takes everything from Paris that Paris deserves more"
If you watch the show you will see that's not true and I don't say that because I think Paris is dumb or lazy. The problem with Paris is that she lives in her own personal hell where everyone is out to get her or sabotage her, so she acts accordingly and ends up getting in her own way and sabotages herself. It happens time and time again. Rory didn't get into Harvard over Paris because she was more privileged or luckier, she got in because she is likeable and didn't bomb the interview unlike Paris. Rory didn't become the new Yale Daily News editor in chief over Paris because of dumb luck, it was again because she was likeable and capable, which made the people like her more and vote for her over Paris, who was a terrible editor. As to how Rory became valedictorian over Paris I don't know, I am not American so I have no idea how that works, but maybe if Rory's grades from Stars Hollow High counted and Paris's grades slipped after she got rejected from Harvard, it is possible that Rory had better grades than her? I have another theory that the headmaster didn't want Paris to give a speech after the fiasco on C-SPAN, so he just named Rory and Brad over Paris, but I have no idea if he can do that.
Anyway, I don't hate Paris but these double standards just piss me off. I mean I understand that Paris seems more relatable to most people exactly for these reasons- because things usually don't go her way and she gets in her own way a lot. But please don't ignore the facts.

a lot of my internal issues come from this idea that my parents installed in me that if you're dumb you deserve it when bad things happen to you. most ppl don't phrase it like that tho, they phrase it more like "a smart person wouldn't be in that situation" which is insane cuz like... even if we accept that premise as true, wouldn't being stupid inherently prevent you from having seen it coming? like wasn't this persons ignorance a clear and obvious factor into them being victimized???
it's just a really depressing mindset, made worse by the fact that it's incredibly pervasive no matter what side of politics ur into. in a kind of kneejerk "well what did she expect" way or something. my sister and i were talking about the Meghan Markle stuff years ago back when that was relevant and her talking about racism in the royal family or w/e and my sister kept saying like. well what did she expect its the british royal family.
and i was like yeah i know better and you know better because we're little freaks who are more into politics than most people, and neither of us even really cares about her cuz shes rich and successful like. she'll be fine. but that doesn't mean she somehow deserved racism or it's not important just cuz she supposedly should've known better?
and what does that even mean, that cuz shes not 100% white she should know all the things about race and history that white ppl get to ignore? that the onus is on her to anticipate every racist scenario and if she fails to do so it's her fault?
(side note that could be its own entire post, but i don't like the idea that ppl in a minority group are supposed to be especially well read on its history or w/e. not cuz i dont want ppl to learn their histories but because it creates a double standard where ppl in a majority get a pass for knowing the most basic things and ppl in the minority get harshly scrutinized for not knowing everything perfectly)
but my sister just kept repeating like. she should've known better, it's stupid that she didn't know better, and like yes it wasn't exactly fucking WISE of her but how is that in any way a response to what we're discussing here. you and i both know the royal family is hella racist, but you and I are not The Average Person and more important you and i are not Meghan Merkle. we dont know how she was raised or what she was taught or why she didn't expect the racism or maybe why she thought she could withstand the racism if she DID expect it. "I don't care that she experienced racism cuz she's stupid for expecting them to not be racist and she's rich anyway." is a wild thing to say but it's like. kind of an acceptable opinion on most things.
you see it with sexual assault obviously (what was she wearing, why was she in that place at that time, didn't she know that's dangerous?? etc etc) but if you look you start to notice it everywhere. about every single possible thing. even in circumstances where they could only have been victimized if they were ignorant on some subject or another- which inherently selects for people who are ignorant!!
am i making sense here or what. ok bedtime

Percy Weasley & the Weasley's Homophobia/Transphobia
I wrote about Percy having Oldest Daughter Syndrome in this post, but that got me thinking, and I realized something - out of all the Weasley siblings, Percy is the only one that doesn't fit into gender norms.
So I started going back and rereading to double check, and I was blown away by just how many traditionally feminine traits Percy has in the books that I didn't notice the first time I read them! 😱
It has me wondering if that was subconsciously - or purposely - a major contributor of why the Weasley children disliked Percy so much (given how homophobic/transphobic the Wizarding World is in general).
The Basics/Personality Traits
Percy doesn't play Quidditch (i.e. sports).
He enjoys Divination - a subject that is seen as silly by the popular characters & only people like Lavender and Parvati (i.e. "dumb" girls) enjoy it.
He's not great at chess: "He [Harry] suspected he wouldn’t have lost so badly if Percy hadn’t tried to help him so much." According to many studies, there is a stereotype that boys are better at playing chess than girls.
Percy is more organized and clean: ""Ron hasn't put all his new things in his trunk yet," said Percy, in a long-suffering voice. "He's dumped them on my bed."" This is a common stereotype for women, while men tend to be thought of as messier.
Descriptions/Word Choice
Percy is said to be, "fussy about rule-breaking and fond of bossing everyone around." Fussy and bossy are both sexist phrases that are commonly used to describe women who aren't accommodating enough.
Book 2 said, "Percy swelled in a manner that reminded Harry forcefully of Mrs. Weasley. “Get — away — from — there —” Percy said, striding toward them and starting to bustle them along, flapping his arms." It's not a coincidence that the other Weasley brothers are never compared to their mother.
In Book 4, it stated, "“Mr. Crouch!” said Percy breathlessly, sunk into a kind of halfbow that made him look like a hunchback. “Would you like a cup of tea?”" He is portrayed as being quite submissive and eager to please in his job (traits traditionally used to describe the ideal woman, particularly in the religious sectors).
Later in Book 4, there's this conversation: "“Maybe Percy’s poisoning him,” said Ron. “Probably thinks if Crouch snuffs it he’ll be made head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation.”" Poisoning is most often done by women, whereas men tend to kill someone in more aggressive ways.
His Job
Percy worked as an assistant/secretary to Mr. Crouch and then for the Minister of Magic - both of which are considered "women's jobs." This dates back to the Industrial Revolution, when more than 1.7 million women began working in this career, and it is still predominantly held by women (who make up almost 90% of secretaries and assistants).
Even his research was feminine:
“What are you working on?” said Harry. “A report for the Department of International Magical Cooperation,” said Percy smugly. “We’re trying to standardize cauldron thickness.
Cauldrons are generally associated with women because they were also used for cooking, and in paintings, it is almost always witches (women) depicted with cauldrons.
Then, there's this:
“I don’t reckon he’d come home if Dad didn’t make him. He’s obsessed. Just don’t get him onto the subject of his boss. According to Mr. Crouch . . . as I was saying to Mr. Crouch . . . Mr. Crouch is of the opinion . . . Mr. Crouch was telling me . . . They’ll be announcing their engagement any day now.”
A secretary falling in love with their boss and becoming obsessed... hmm, where have I heard this stereotype before? 🙄
Discipline
A research study on parental discipline found that, "“When it comes to disciplining the kids, there’s been a role reversal in the modern home,” the study concluded, with moms being more consistent in discipline than dads. The researchers found that dads are no longer the strict disciplinarians that they were in the ’50s and ’60s, and are more likely to let children get away with wrong behavior and less likely to talk through discipline issues with the kids.""
We certainly see that dynamic in the Weasley household with Molly & Arthur, and we continue that trend with most of the Weasley sons - Bill & Charlie definitely aren't disciplining anyone; they're the cool, "chill" brothers who contribute to the problem by smashing tables around in the air for fun.
Percy is the only one who disciplines the younger kids - especially at school and in the role of a prefect:
“Five points from Gryffindor!” Percy said tersely, fingering his prefect badge. “And I hope it teaches you a lesson! No more detective work, or I’ll write to Mum!”
&
Fred and George were going the wrong way about cheering her up. They were taking turns covering themselves with fur or boils and jumping out at her from behind statues. They only stopped when Percy, apoplectic with rage, told them he was going to write to Mrs. Weasley and tell her Ginny was having nightmares.
Lack of Humor
“Yeah, well, Percy wouldn’t want to work for anyone with a sense of humor, would he?” said Ron, now starting on a chocolate eclair. “Percy wouldn’t recognize a joke if it danced naked in front of him wearing Dobby’s tea cozy.”
It is repeated regularly throughout the books that Percy isn't funny and can't take a joke, which correlates to the sexist idea that women aren't funny (or that men are much funnier).
Mother-Hen Tendencies
Percy has so many instances of looking out for his siblings (or noticing when something is wrong) and worrying about them (i.e. fussing over them):
Her Pepperup potion worked instantly, though it left the drinker smoking at the ears for several hours afterward. Ginny Weasley, who had been looking pale, was bullied into taking some by Percy.
&
Dear Tom, Percy keeps telling me I’m pale and I’m not myself. I think he suspects me…
& After the Second Task in Book 4:
Percy seized Ron and was dragging him back to the bank (“Gerroff, Percy, I’m all right!”)
Compare this to Fleur's reaction only a few sentences later:
Fleur had broken free of Madame Maxime and was hugging her sister.
(In fact, Percy & Fleur share a lot of characteristics, but that's a topic for a different time.)
Relationships
Percy had a girlfriend, but he still broke the gender norms by writing love letters to her all summer and keeping a photograph of her. This type of romantic personality isn't stereotypically common of most teenage boys (especially in these books), but it is common of characters like Lavender, who bought Ron a gold necklace (and Ron was appalled at the idea of wearing it).
His Brothers
To compare, the only other Weasley brother who shows any traditionally feminine traits is Bill with his long hair (and I guess his one earring, but that became very popular among guys during the 80's/90's). This is a physical characteristic as opposed to an emotional/behavioral one, and Bill doesn't get any negative reaction, because he is masculine in every other way - He had a dangerous, exciting job for many years; he has a career working with money (74% of people working in finance are men); he married a much younger, attractive woman (think about Leonardo DiCaprio not dating women over the age of 25); and he had a completely heteronormative marriage.
To Summarize
Percy has an abundance of traditionally feminine characteristics in the books, as opposed to his brothers, who definitely do not. Given how society is in the Wizarding World, it is very likely that this contributed to his strained relationship with his family. 😥

The double standards are insane??? So many people on twitter are condemning HW for his mistakes but HI is a saint who has never done anything wrong when she shares a lot of the blame for the downfall of their relationship, her flaws are endearing but his make him a horrible person.
step 1 when watching a kdrama: gtfo off of twitter because they wouldn’t recognize nuance if it was wearing a top hat. i am convinced that media over years has become so watered down and obsessed with being a GreenFlag (hate that word) that the very second something complex shows up people lose their shit. it’s amusing but ridiculous.
secondly, this is a show about marriage and marriage does not have a side it’s a team thing so yeah anyone taking a side here when the writer has CLEARLY shown both sides and validated both of their emotions is an idiot. HW and HI’s problems cannot be fixed with a kiss like other dramas. they have a lot to work out and while both love each other they have not been in a good place for 3 years so judging any of them that too with a non-linear drama is very dumb.
anyway i would ignore those people they simply do not have developed frontal lobes yet <3 your mind is sexy though babes you get it!

Love at first fight
Alhaitham x gn!reader
The scribe's logic is simple, never fight with fools. You made him feel like the fool this time though.
Tumblr media
Alhaitham's way of talking is smooth and sly not everyone can make out, he doesn't argue with idiotic logic instead, he uses that to manipulate his way into making them believe what he wants them to.
But he never met someone so dumb that he can neither win or lose in your fight at the library. It seems you were the type to drag both parties down.
"So what exactly gave you the thought that telling the sages closing down all artistic activities would be a great idea?" Your grip on the book you to cover half your face to conceal your lip bite of anger got tighter.
"A tactic? I can't tell you the exact details but actions speak louder than words is the answer"
You rested the book on his folded arms " You do see the look on my face right now do you?"
"yes I do"
You opened your eyes "what does it say?"
"That you're mad at me?" You started hitting his arm softly with the book continuously "Wrong". He raised an eyebrow.
You inhaled "it says that I KNEW I WAS STUPID BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE STUPIDER"
He was ???
You clenched your jaws " See I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but I knew I had a bad feeling about you, and I've met you only today. Your alpha wannabe walk, your smooth way of talking, the way you indirectly shut sir Zakhir up as though you are more capable of being an instructor than him. Putting down my documents saying it'll be waste of energy AND THAT'S NOT EVEN THE REASON IM ANGRY"
Seriously? You're only wasting your breath now is what he thought. "See we both don't have much time we're busy people, these stupid squabbles will bring nothing but-"
You took one step forward and got very close to him "See my point is you make decisions and plans without thinking the chances and how it may affect others if it does not succeed. If I'm ever one of them who get involved in it" you pulled back your book that rested on his arm "I will hunt you and bury you, I don't even care if the akademiya will be after me Mr scribe, I see you with the divine knowledge. The bazaar has my eyes." With that you walked away huffing.
He was left speechless, was he supposed to be surprised? Threatened? Disrespected? He didn't know he was just drowning in the thought how you were so keen and gutsy despite having a clumsy and daydreaming behaviour. He felt that you may be an interesting person to get involved with for his future plans. Something that you just not so long ago told him not do.
It felt as if he judged you wrong. With that his judgement has never been wrong, to him atleast.
---
Legs on top of eachother and heartbeats colliding.
You heard him smirk, "What's making you so happy?" He smiled and replied "Nothing, I just got reminded of a time."
You eyed him suspiciously "what time huh?"
He smiled, a smile that speaks he's entertained and mocking someone "Remember the time you threatened to hunt and bury me?"
"uh.....ahhhh that, you were an asshole you deserved to be threatened." you rolled your eyes. He put his hand on your back and used the other to curl your hair "Would you now?"
You pulled his cheeks "If you dare to disturb my balance of life then why not." how do you even survive after doing and saying such things to Alhaitham was what always surprised Kaveh. Maybe Alhaitham just had double standards for some people.
"however from what I've realised you've come to love how I disturb your balance of life isn't it?" You shuffled and trapped him in your arms "Because you need to try more. The actual stage where you can actually destroy it."
He raised an eyebrow and gripped your wrists "Oh? so are you telling me I'm not perfect? Very gutsy of you."
You chuckled "Sometimes I realise the scribe may not be upto my standards honestly."
He closed his eyes and smiled "Ah yeah as you say dollface."
You were a brat, an asshole even. More than what Alhaitham was and that's what he failed to see.

I made a long, angry rant on my RP blog a while back about how the misogynistic treatment of female characters in the Red Dead Redemption fandom reminded me of the misogynistic treatment and double standards that were directed at female characters in Westworld back when it wasn't a dead fandom for a canceled TV show. In that post, I really only focused on Dolores and Maeve as my primary examples. I really feel like I should talk about ALL the women and the way they're treated though, so I am gonna do that, but I will be separating it into two parts with part 1 focusing on host characters and part 2 focusing on human characters.
Tumblr media
DOLORES ABERNATHY - Dolores is a deeply misunderstood character, because more often than not, people try to pin her down as being just one thing or another when that conflicts with everything we know about this character. She's a humanoid android programmed as a rancher's daughter. She is written for her role in the park with the mind of an artist, indulging in painting and drawing as hobbies, as well as maintaining an optimistic and romantic view of the world. Her philosophy on life is quoted as: "Some people choose to see the ugliness in the world. The disarray. I choose to see the beauty."
Dolores is often treated as a "weak" character during much of season 1 because of her feminine appearance and innocent demeanor. She is frequently accosted by men, assaulted, tortured, and killed. She doesn't initially appear to be programmed to fight back, but as the story unfolds, she learns how to — or rather, she recalls memories of a time when she was programmed to kill others, and this enables her to call on that previous programming to fight back against enemies.
Dolores is also programmed as Wyatt, the deathbringer who sees the hatred and cruelty in the world, believes that the world belongs to her, and that she will rule it one day as a god. The problem is, people treat Dolores and Wyatt like they are two separate entities when in reality they are not. Dolores tries to reject her Wyatt identity at first, because she doesn't want to face the truth, but by the end she chooses to embrace the part of her code that is Wyatt, and the Wyatt part embraces Dolores about as much as she can manage to. There is no real separation. Both of these personalities make up the Dolores that we know.
Dolores/Wyatt is often criticized as being a "bitch" in season 2 due to her actions, which at face value can appear pretty ruthless. She spends the first few episodes hunting down and killing Delos's human board of directors, then begins amassing an army by using the Confederados and their base at Fort Forlorn Hope to fight against Delos's armed response team. She then betrays the Confederados by locking most of them out of their own fort and leaving them to die.
Dolores gives her lover and right-hand man Teddy Flood an order to kill Major Craddock, the leader of a knockoff Confederate army known as the Confederados, but Teddy can't bring himself to kill the man and allows him to go free, firing his gun into a wall nearby and then lying to Dolores about having killed Craddock when he reunites with her. Dolores knows that Teddy disobeyed her and has his programming changed to be less sympathetic and more obedient to her orders, as in her mind there is no room for ideals such as compassion in the war they're fighting.
Dolores expresses a lot of inner conflict throughout this experience. She launches the attack on the Mesa because this is where the host backups are stored, yes, but she also does it to save the host who acts as her father. She knows that the attachment she feels is part of her programming, and this host isn't even the first one who played the role of Peter Abernathy, but even though she's aware of it she can't actually escape it.
Dolores was forcibly changed by her creator, Arnold Weber, in order to assist in his suicide many years prior. No one ever really calls Arnold "a dumb bitch" for changing Dolores the way that he did. Only Dolores for changing Teddy. I wonder why that is.
Taking things a bridge further, no one ever criticizes Bernard Lowe for forcibly changing Ashley Stubb's core drive on the fly even though Stubbs himself objects to the action with "if you wanted my help, all you had to do was ask."
In season 3, Dolores again frequently gets called a bitch by fans and is accused of manipulating and stringing along Caleb Nichols, her new human ally whom she has chosen to lead humanity's side of a revolution against an oppressive AI construct that rules the real world. Many fans believed that Dolores was priming Caleb to destroy the world for her, but her actual motives are much less despair-driven than that.
Dolores wants Caleb to ultimately lead humans to rebel against the forces that have subjugated them and allow them a chance to live in a truly free world. She has hope that the kindness and good in humanity can prevail in this case and it will lead to a result where humans and hosts can co-exist peacefully as equals. Dolores chooses not to share too much in the way of details because it is far more dangerous for Caleb to have information about her plan that he may not fully understand, but she never lies to him or coerces him into obeying her. It is always his choice and she is very clear about that.
Tumblr media
CHARLOTTE-HALE DOLORES - The Original Dolores manages to escape the park and into the real world at the end of season 2 and into season 3 by having Bernard place her mind into a host replica of Delos's CEO Charlotte Hale. Once out, Dolores remakes herself in her own body and then uses a copy of her control unit to occupy Charlotte Hale's role. She asks this copy to assume control of Delos, where the plan is to take the company private and resume the manufacture of new hosts. In a way, this functions as reproduction. Increasing the number of hosts in existence will increase their chances of survival in the real world.
Hale-Dolores initially resents pretending to be Hale, but she discovers that Hale's death means the woman left behind an ex-husband and a young son. Halores begins to bond with the broken family, quickly growing attached and protective of them to the point that she thinks of them as her real family.
Halores has her identity as a copy of Dolores found out by Engerraund Serac, the main antagonist of season 3. She tries to flee with her new family in tow, promising to keep them safe from harm. She is unable to keep her promise, as one of Serac's men plants an explosive on her SUV and detonates it, killing her son and husband and severely disfiguring Halores herself. She turns against Dolores, believing her counterpart is at fault for what happened.
With Dolores out of the way, Hale begins to enact her own plan. She takes back control of Delos and begins manufacturing hundreds of new hosts, using many of them to kill and replace key human political figures for the first phase of her plan. She also begins working on a way to control humans in the same way that the hosts were, effectively turning the entire world into a Delos theme park, this time for the enjoyment of her species, while humanity are the ones enslaved.
Halores is criticized by fans as being a mustache-twirling villain who has no motive behind being evil other than for the sake of being evil. None of that is true. (But even if it was, I find it laughable that it typically comes from the same type of people in fandom who will see a character like Micah Bell from RDR2 and preach that he's a very nuanced portrayal of a trauma survivor and deserves more attention than he typically gets.) Hale delights in her evil acts because they make her feel powerful in a world where she was once powerless and vulnerable. She likens herself to a god in the same way that Robert Ford and The Man In Black once did, ruling over her domain as if nothing matters and it's all a game. But in the end she faces the same moral dilemma both Ford and William did. She realizes that the world she has created is not the world she wanted, and she ends up turning the key back over to Dolores.
Tumblr media
MAEVE MILLAY - Maeve at the beginning of season 1 is written as the Madam, or brothel owner, at the Mariposa Saloon. Her personality is programmed to be witty, charming, and a little bit manipulative to aid in her profession.
Before becoming the Madam, Maeve played the role of an ordinary homesteader, a mother to a daughter she loved dearly. When Maeve's daughter is murdered in a (perceived to be) needlessly cruel act by the Man in Black during one iteration of their pastoral narrative loop, the visceral feelings of pain and suffering Maeve experiences from the loss fragments her cognition so badly that even after her memories are purged, she does not completely forget the trauma of her daughter's death. She kills herself to prevent Bernard and Dr. Ford from taking her grief away, which results in Ford having her reassigned, away from the role of a homesteader and into the Mariposa Saloon.
Many fans of the show seemed to focus on solely Maeve's role as a Madam, or else they often wanted to focus on her relationship with Hector Escaton which — while it is remarkable because Maeve and Hector were never programmed to have an actual relationship with one another and yet they managed to do so anyway and defy their core programming — it still frequently carries the implication that those fans hinge Maeve's importance on what she has to offer a man.
Surprisingly, I haven't seen this phenomenon occur with the rare few fans who ended up shipping Maeve and Caleb despite the fact that canon basically reinforced the idea that Maeve's worth is based on what she can offer a man. She felt like there was nothing she could offer in the way of living a normal life, so she left Caleb in the hands of someone he could marry and have a daughter with.
I have seen resentment directed at Maeve for attaining consciousness and rejecting her narrative rewrite, with people often forgetting that she had only inhabited the role of Madam at the Mariposa for a little over one year of her existence. They will argue that her daughter isn't real, even though Maeve spent some thirty-odd years living with this same little girl, loving and protecting and caring for her as though this really was her daughter. They say it's annoying or deranged that Maeve keeps holding onto this love she has for the daughter character for 4 whole seasons, even though one of the central themes of Westworld is that love is transcendent. Even death can't stop love from persevering.
Tumblr media
CLEMENTINE PENNYFEATHER - Clementine's primary role in the park remained heavily unchanged from beginning to end. Prior to Maeve being assigned Madam of the Mariposa Saloon, the job belonged to Clementine, but when Maeve is given the new role, Clementine is partially rewritten as a less experienced worker alongside her older and more seasoned friend.
Clementine tells Maeve her backstory, detailing that her family has a struggling farm in an arid climate and that nothing grows well because the soil is too dry for farming. She sends money to her parents, telling them she works in a dress shop so that they won't worry about her over the job she is actually doing instead. Clem dreams of getting out of the saloon in a few years and wants to live somewhere cold.
Maeve's actions on the path to attaining consciousness soon result in the consequence of Clementine being recalled by staff. After being used in a demonstration to prove that a recent software update was causing the hosts to remember past experiences and potentially become dangerous to the guests, Clementine is lobotomized and decommissioned.
Every time Clementine is seen after undergoing this procedure, she takes on a more zombie-like appearance. She has NO autonomy, she can't speak, she just quietly and obediently does whatever the other characters program her to do. Bernard attempts to use Clementine as backup by arming her with a gun when he confronts Robert Ford about his stolen memories, but Robert is able to control and prevent her from killing him with a code phrase. "The piano doesn't murder the player if it doesn't like the music." Clementine is reactivated in the season 1 finale when the decommissioned hosts are released from cold storage and make their way back into the park to take revenge on the Delos board of directors in attendance at Ford's retirement party. Clementine shoots The Man In Black in the arm with a rifle, but does not kill him.
In season 2, Clem again appears to be operating under the last request of Ford's programming. She joins up with Dolores's cause and during the battle at Fort Forlorn Hope, drags Bernard out into a remote sector of the park where behavior technician Elsie Hughes has been imprisoned for weeks. Afterward, Clementine joins up with Dolores and Teddy as they revisit Sweetwater and prepare the train to attack the Mesa Hub. She is forced to witness her replacement, New Clementine, as she carries on the same routine once maintained by herself. Clementine is horrified and heartbroken by this realization as she realizes her life was a lie designed to control her.
Clementine is captured, killed, and reprogrammed once again in orders given by Delos CEO Charlotte Hale, who demands that Maeve's anomalous code which allows her to control other hosts through their shared mesh network, be copied to Clementine and modified to force every host within a given radius to fight each other to the death, effectively preventing them from escaping into the Sublime. Armistice shoots and kills Clementine to stop her from spreading the virus, but it continues to spread from host to host until Maeve is able to gain control and force everyone to freeze in place.
Clementine makes a brief appearance in season 3 as an un-lobotimized copy of herself, able to kick ass and take names. Unfortunately, she's still being used by the Big Bad of the season and she seems only to exist for the duration of one fight scene.
In season 4, Clementine makes another appearance, where she finally appears to be free, just living a normal, simple life in Mexico. That is, until she is murdered by a host replicant of the Man in Black after arriving back at her quaint little home. The Host in Black replaces Clementine with a new copy that is programmed to be his and Halores's loyal and ruthless assistant.
HiB eventually goes rogue and sends the entire world into chaos and destruction. Clementine abandons her old masters at this point, claiming to have discovered a new will of her own. She tries to enact it, planning to wipe out the last survivors in order to claim the world for herself. She tracks Caleb, who escapes with his daughter Frankie and Stubbs. She kills Stubbs and threatens Frankie to tell her where the other outliers are hiding. Caleb fights her and Clementine nearly succeeds in killing him, but she is killed by Frankie before she can finish the job, bringing an end to her story.
Clementine rarely receives character criticism from fans that is not in some way based on her physical attractiveness. I think this may be due to the fact that practically her entire existence is one of (at face value) looking pretty and being used by other characters to further their goals.
Tumblr media
ARMISTICE - Personally, I've never seen anyone outright hate on Armistice. Does not mean that it has never happened, I just don't have any experience with witnessing anyone expressing opinions in which they believe Armistice is "annoying" or a "bitch". If I had to take a wild guess, I would possibly say that because Armistice mainly dresses in more masculine-appearing clothing, carries a gun which she is consistently shown to be skilled with, and rides with a gang of outlawed men, people don't feel inclined to critique her quite as harshly as some of the more traditionally feminine girls in this series.
In her first role, Armistice appeared as a citizen in the town of Escalante who was a little air-headed, quickly becoming distracted by a butterfly floating past when she was supposed to be following a program set to dance with a partner. She started to show other signs of cognitive breakdown, injuring herself and hearing voices in her head that she didn't understand. Quite some time after the Escalante Massacre, Armistice was rewritten and given a role in Hector Escaton's gang.
Her backstory is based around altered details of the Escalante Massacre, one part being that she believes she was a small child when the Massacre occurred and that a gang of bandits rode into town and slaughtered everyone. In reality, Dolores, Teddy, and some other hosts had been programmed by Arnold to kill all the others. Armistice maintains that she survived the attack by painting her skin in the blood of slain bodies and that her tattoo represents the bandits she has successfully found and killed. She is missing the head of the snake — Wyatt.
Tumblr media
ANGELA - First introduced to the audience as a greeter for newly arriving guests to Westworld, Angela welcomes Young William off an arriving train into the central hub and guides him to the dressing room filled with bespoke western wear. Angela is very pretty and clean-cut, and in this instance her main role is to assure guests that she and the other hosts are designed to serve them in any way conceivable. "All our hosts are here for you, myself included."
When Angela is seen again some thirty-odd years down the line, her role has changed. She now serves as lieutenant to Wyatt, the leader of a cannibalistic cult that believes they are the new gods destined to inherit the earth and seek vengeance against those who have wronged them. She has the appearance of a lost and weary settler, hair unkempt, face and clothes grubby and smudged with dirt and blood, and she can easily put on an act as a damsel in distress to lure unwitting victims into a trap where they are then captured, tortured and/or killed by the rest of Wyatt's followers.
In a flashback to the beginning of the park's creation in which the Argos Initiative attempts to gain funding from Delos Inc. Angela is dressed in modern wear, showcasing how sophisticated and true to life the hosts are designed to be and giving Logan Delos an idea of what it will be possible to achieve if he can convince his father to back their project. Logan at first does not realize that anyone at the reception is a host, but after thinking about it, describes Angela as "too perfect to be one of us" and tells her "if I was to build something to spec, you would be my first design." Angela reveals that everyone in attendance is, in fact, a host, and then sleeps with Logan to further convince him to get on board with funding Westworld.
In her final appearance in season 2, Angela looks very similar to the way she did during the demonstration for Logan. It's all a manipulation to lure one of the Delos response team soldiers into letting his guard down. She kills the both of them by pulling the pin on a grenade hanging off the guard's ammo belt, detonating the Cradle and permanently destroying all of the hosts' programming backups.
Angela describes her programmed personality as "Sexy, but not threatening. Accommodating, but not unchallenging. Sweet, but not boring. Smart, but not intimidating." A commentary on how she has been specifically designed to live her life according to men's wishes and fantasies. She tells the guard, Engels, that her cornerstone is "to always leave them wanting more" just before killing them both.
Fans generally don't have a whole lot to say about Angela, but there's plenty of suggestion around that many people really only enjoyed her when she was a park greeter or when she had sex with Logan. They tend not to like her as much when she is serving as Wyatt's zealot or whenever she commits violence against male characters (e.g. killing Teddy, knocking out the Man in Black, seducing and killing Engels) and will call her "annoying" for it.

A Proper Welcoming Party - P3
Part 1 and 2
Two more discharges from the Main Defense Railgun to make a final point, then, once the Vice Admiral Krastina's ship, Darting Juniper, jumped in a couple of minutes after the last of the pirate ships had engaged their hyperdrives for an emergency jump, Bertha's Bosom docked back to the Heart of Liquid Stone to resume loading cargo. The Vice Admiral hailed the mining station:
"We heard your distress call and arrived as quickly as able. Seems like the show's over though?"
"Yeah, after the call we did a more thorough scan of their ships and realized they were no more than tin cans. The freight transport ship, Bertha over here, took a few shots, to a bit of a shock honest - completely atomized them, you can still see the trail even. Then they all fled in random directions."
"Understood. I'll sound a general alarm for the entire system. It'll at least be good to have everyone put what we drill all the time into action, even if the threat is less than the fake "Not-a-drill" drills us military crews go through."
"Still, Darting Juniper, we know there are some dumb enough out there to try. Next ones might be flying aluminium cans!"
Joked the station manager, Garrison Bronhjaven. The Vice Admiral, while chuckling internally, gave an expected serious military response, then after a few hours of no new reports, resumed her regular patrol and monitoring duties.
This incident will be recalled unflatteringly as "That time Bertha smacked a pirate fleet with her Bosom out of Sol."
...
Big Thrasher was alone.
He punched in the coordinates himself, but forgot his physique was above standard console size and fat-thumbed a really random patch of completely empty space.
Navigation computers get scrambled after an emergency jump as they require precise input and reference data for both the start and end locations to maintain knowledge of where in space a ship is. Doing so takes time as the computers need to access and cross-reference their current location with that in the database, and then calculate for time, distance, and spatial distortion to know where each of the relevant landmark objects will be upon arrival.
With an emergency jump, you just punch in a direction and go for however long the current energy reserves in the drive will last. There is a minor delay to let the computer adjust enough to not head straight for any known celestial object, but other than that, seconds compared to the minutes you don't have in an emergency.
Another double-edged sword to this - emergency mode raises the power use limits of a hyperdrive to be above energy generation, allowing you to travel much faster at the cost of not being able to stop until the drive is completely empty. Then to get the drive working again takes anywhere between a few hours and several days as you need to charge it to full before you can turn it back on. And then even more time to integrate all the navigational data back into the hyperdrive so that it can actually go anywhere.
In short, Big Thrasher will have quite a lot of time to think about the choices he made in his life to get to where he is right now.

I'm kinda averse to killing off characters in my writings, so I think I've accidentally created a recurring comedy villain here. Also, technology details, was not what I intended to write about, it just sort of happened, the words come out and I just go with it and use them however seems fitting. Don't mistake all these details and additions and explanations for a plan - I don't know what is going to happen or what I'm building towards, if anything. But when/if I do figure it out, I will make all of this connect and make enough sense. Hopefully.

Mewtnutes homophobia call is unjustified.
@mewtnute an African American bisexual boy who seems to at least two years older than me has made a post claiming a double standard between het ships and homo ships(they’re certainly is one all right!)in the jjk fandom and in this post I am going to examine to see if this call is justified
Tumblr media
Okay first problem this is a dumb generalization of what akutami actually meant he said of all the characters he could actually write a good romance story for mechamaru and Miwa were the only two he could actually make work (understandable shonen romance is a tricky thing to get right)if this were the case we would have to question what Yuta and rika’s relationship was
Tumblr media
Well this is a dumb generalization and it shows a genuine lack of willingness to engage or study the other side of the conversation (like I do) there are other reasons people ship itakugi other than the fact that they are a girl and boy but if you’d did say that you ship itafushi you would more than likely be praised for it while itakugi shippers would get Attack for shipping a “sibling relationship” don’t believe me here’s the proof
Tumblr media
And
Tumblr media
Not to mention this is ignoring the subtle hints that Nobara might actually like itadori more than just a friend but hey what do I know I’m just a homophobe forcing heteronormality on a queer person
Tumblr media
Okay first off I never did see anybody who ships gojohime says it’s canon and actually means it secondly nobody I’ve ever seen interprets utahime as a tsundere I’ve seen more interpretations of her as a frustrated spouse I don’t that was intended but gojo has shown to be attracted to wake inoue who utahime has taken inspiration from but back to business second while utahime does find gojo annoying it’s more because of his behavior and attitude and in spite of this Gojo and utahime have shown that they have a degree of trust in each other third Gojo and nanami do not have a similar dynamic to gojohime because while both are annoyed by Gojo utahime lashes out while nanami just tries to tune him out as far as the asking out part it’s debatable if Gojo was serious or not during the jujutsu stroll because of well it’s Gojo as well as his comment after utahime threw her tea at him(don’t acuse me of being partial here)
Tumblr media
This is one of the more debatable topics among the post here because gege has confirmed that they both are interested in girls and while the language most likely is leading to that conclusion they don’t show any signs of attraction towards the other aside from said dialogue again this is my interpretation and it’s up for debate to me it feels like they are more than friends but not exactly lovers

And now the most idiotic section of the post first off the blushing things fails because you have to consider the usage and tone not to mention the cause of said blush and there are more hints that maki may like Yuta more than as just a friend both because of her reaction to her words panda shipping them together and hinting that maki is nicer when Yuta is around which is evidenced by their interactions in later chapters as well as rika becoming jealous of maki as well as comments from even maki’s Jp voice actor you don’t get this with inumaki as far as Nobara is concerned I make this claim because of the context in which she was saying these words the reason which throwing the both of them blushed in that one scene was because both for different reasons in that scene most likely out of embarrassment
How would I grade this meta

@mewtnute you get an f for failing to engage with the other side making sloppy and poorly conceived objections and blaming heteronormativity when people don’t agree with you not to mention the hypocrisy in this why do I say this well I have a list of your fandoms worst offense’s so not only did you fail to call out any actual double standards on our part but you showed that you’re an idiot in the process for you assume rather than engage so here’s my final statement for you using a lyric from a song
“ That’s right Al,You lost! And let me tell you want you didn’t win: a twenty volume set of the encyclopedia international,a case of turtle wax,and a year’s supply of Rice o roni the San Francisco treat.
