#mycomicinfluences #1 "Captain Canuck" First released by Comely Comics in 1975, by Richard Comely and Ron Leishman, went on hiatus after 3 issues only to return in 1979 under the CKR banner with the addition of artists George Freeman and Jean Claude St. Aubin. I discovered the book in 1980, it was my 1st experience with a book solely produced outside the U.S. with characters, creators and stories centered elsewhere. Fell in love with Freeman's art at first sight. It wasn't easy getting these books back then but I managed to find most of the current issues as they were released and sent for back issues directly from CKR. It was well done with interesting characters and stories and of course I thought the art was great. They stopped production after issue #14. The character has returned a couple times after this initial version, as recently as 2015 in an ongoing series, which was pretty good. I love how the Justice league founding members (especially at the start) include some people who are deeply unsettling.

Like J’onn and Bruce always make others uncomfortable when they first meet, most iterations have Diana early in her arc so she’s really difficult to work with if y’all disagree most green lanterns are kinda glad to be back home but have other shit to do, shayera is always going through it, Arthur just always hates human, in fact most of the league aren’t like. SUPER fond of humans to begin with

Literally the only characters with an ounce of charisma at first are Clark and Barry, they CARRY their whole PR department like an iron cross

I finally have a title!!!

I’ve been rolling a Danny adopted by Martian manhunter fic around in my head but I couldn’t figure out a good title!!!

Eventually I’ll post it but it’s gonna be called “Legally a Martian”

Sneak peak:

Danny rummaged around the cabinets searching for something to eat. The first cabinet he found was full of Oreos, while tempted to snack Danny was hoping to get something a bit more filling. However after the third cabinet of off brand Oreos he began to worry about his hosts sanity (though who was he to judge?)

He was staring into the freezer full of cookies when he heard his host enter the room.

“Do you have anything other than Oreos????” Danny asked, clearly befuddled.

“Chocos, and no. I had melons but you killed them.” J’onn grinned

Danny mourned the melons he so brutally murdered as he pulled out a pack of chocos to munch on.
