As he wandered through the dimly lit streets, a sense of longing stirred within him, a yearning for something he had thought lost forever. But tonight, beneath the shimmering stars, fate had other plans.

In a twist of destiny, y/n found herself wandering through the same streets of Inazuma, her heart heavy with memories of a love she had forgotten. She had carried the weight of their separation with her for years, a burden that seemed to disappear with each passing day.

But tonight, as if guided by some unseen force, their paths collided once again. Scaramouche's breath caught in his throat as he caught sight of her, a vision of beauty amidst the shadows. And in that moment, time seemed to stand still as their eyes met across the crowded street.

Seeing all the chaos that's been happening lately around N & L ... just confirms to myself that I am team #lukola until they're 90. Just look at these 2! How can you not believe in them? When two people are so obviously in their own parallel universe to everyone else, finishing each other's sentences, finding each other's jokes hilarious, not knowing what "personal space" is and behaving like no 2 costars I've ever seen ... how can you not root for them from all your heart?

Maybe because I've lived through a soulmate connection transforming my life and I know it's a long game ... People are jumping the #lukola ship because it seems messy right now ... but is it really? Social media likes, selfish friends? How does it even compare with a divorce, an international custody case and years of legal hurdles.

For years I did not really believe I would ever be at the point in life where I am now ... but I am. But when he reads them, he understands. They're not simple greetings or kind words. They're negative. Accusatory, even. They're the kind of things people say to him anyway. "What's he doing here?" on one arm and "I'm sure….you understand humiliation, better than most." on the other. He supposes that if there really are people out there that are meant to be his "soulmates", he can't blame them for any judgment they would undoubtedly have regarding his father.

LSP AND MARCELINE'S RELATIONSHIP

I feel as if this is something that Isn't really talked about too much among AT fans is LSP and Marceline's relationship and after the end(?) of fionna and Cake (which i loved and I'll be talking about it later) I started thinking about it alot

Their first real time interaction in "Princess Day", at first glance, feels a lot more like the writers threw names at a dartboard and got them. But the interactions they have are a lot more genuine than one would expect.

I'm not going to do the complete play by play of princess day because you can just watch episode lol. But, you can see from the first few minutes that marceline knows of lsp and vice versa and have a moment to more genuinely interact with one another. Throughout the episode they do a lot of random shenanigans that end in KIDNAPPING

But throughout, they grow closer to each other to where they can reassure and calm one another down. They feed off of the idea that the other is 'bad" at first making one another a worse influence but they begin to have this quiet understanding that they both just feel somewhat rejected.

And a few cute things are in the episode "Be Sweet" LSP calls her to tell her about her "new life" where she is completely supportive of LSP even though she doesn't really believe her and says "did you break into someone's house again?" Implying they've called in several occasions.

And at the "Come along with me" they can be seen closest to one another

THEY'RE BEST FRIENDS JUST FROM THESE INTERACTIONS ALONE

But let's go another step and talk about fionna and Cake.

When Fionna needs to get a cheaper Vet appointment, Marshall lee recommends this guy Ellis P (obviously LSP) and after getting scammed by him they're seen together by the Betty statue drinking and chuckling in dumb and dumber fashion

And in the "The Star" THEY'RE BOTH HANGING OUT IN FIONNA'S APARTMENT.

WHY DOES NOBODY TALK ABOUT THIS

Just like in every universe gumlee is meant to happen, LSP and Marceline are bound together like PLATONIC SOULMATES

This is one of the minor, unspoken things that make me love adventure time so freaking much!!!

a fish hook, an open eye: 7/10 - it's hardly set in the gffa at all tbh i love earnest evil puppy anakin & conniving obi-wan who gets more than he bargained for. needed more cody, tbh a more perfect union: 10/10 - i'm biased obviously cause i just finished this fic so it's fresh on my mind but it was so fun to write! i loved trying to balance the humor and the seriousness and the council scene (both of them!) was just so great amort & amor: 6/10 - i just think anakin would probably not be that cool about obi-wan getting another padawan lol but it's fluffy and cute and i'm glad i wrote it! bed warden, bed warmer: 8/10 - obi-wan would be the worst patient in the history of the world. he's such an asshole which i love writing but he's also so clearly very smitten with anakin. he's just going to be an asshole about it building a boat with no blueprints: 7/10 - i know yall dont know how it ends but i know how it ends ;) burn every bridge but please leave me a boat: 6/10 - my first attempt at reverse master&padawan au which is a dynamic i really love. i would rate this fic higher, but i wish i had started it in a different place and relied less on mental flashbacks but a number: 9/10 - happy almost one year to this fic! i had to get someone to cheer-read this fic for me because i was worried that i was being too hard on aging/obi-wan's body falling apart and anakin feeling old and tired at age 40 but then i saw a bunch of gifs of obi-wan jumping off stuff and i was like yeah his body probably does feel like it's falling apart foolproof, foolhardy: 10/10 - i literally have not has so much fun with a cliffhanger since i last updated time & tide. no notes, just stupid oblivious padawan obi-wan trying to seduce master skywalker into his bed, unaware that master skywalker would crawl over burning coals to kiss his hand. hand in unlovable hand: 6/10 - not my favorite adaptation from tumblr fic to ao3 fic - i used too much of the original ficlet and always feels clunky to me. i do like sith vader manipulating obi-wan into falling!! yes baby, you twist and ruin that jedi master and make him yours haunt me then: 8/10 - i love non-sequential storytelling and also padmé loving anakin so much that she sacrifices a child to bring him back only for him to come back solely to live and breathe for obi-wan hold me fast or kill me quick: 3/10 - would be a higher rating but this fic haunts me. i want to finish her someday and until i do i will not rest peacefully at night. get these stupid soulmates to communicate! i pray the same, but my gods have changed: 10/10 - i love writing this fic, i love watching the polls as you guys vote for what should happen next, i love catty sith obi-wan working to seduce senator skywalker because he's hot lol but it's the voting aspect that makes this fic a 10/10 for me if you love me, let it remain unnamed: 9/10 - it surprised me how much i loved writing set as an actual character. one day i want to explore the universe that set's in, where he meets his own kenobi and falls in love with him. i really liked the outsider perspective on how absolutely wild obi-wan and anakin are - especially since the main scenario is that they're having a threesome, and obi-wan and anakin have to?? share?? each other? with someone else? unlikely! let’s get your fingers tangled in my hair: 6/10 - i wrote this in a fever state; it was fun and i enjoy a king kenobi as much as the next gal! do i actually think anakin could last that long without talking? no not the way i usually write him lol like saints, like monsters: 8/10 - i love the way the chapters are set up, with them going back and forth between the actual plot and the worst parts and darkest moments of the recovery lost to a sea of troubles: 7/10 - it will never not be funny to me that this fic is in response to the prompt "knocking on the wrong door". it could have been anythinggg. it became this instead, featuring light stockholm syndrome and an obessive, evil obi-wan

The funniest one is the one where your first words to them are on their wrist, because I always think about that one prompt where it was a star wars spoiler on someone's wrist

anyway I went and replayed the lessons to find out Mammon's first words to MC. And then this is where it gets iffy, because it depends on if they need to meet face to face to count

Because his first words are literally "Yoooo." on a phone call 😭 and MC can reply "Hi"/"Yooo." Otherwise, meeting face to face, it's "HEY! Just who do you think you are, human? You've got a lotta nerve summoning the Great Mammon." And MC's first words are either "All right, deal"/ "Uh-uh, I won't go along with this!"/ "..."

AND THEN ALSO, is it only humans that get soulmates? Imagine Mammon is the only one with writing on his wrist, or maybe Lilith too. And if she had writing, it clicks for everyone after she dies what it meant to have writing on your wrist. The rest of his brothers are constantly listening out for whatever words Mammon has on his wrist.

And if it's the "Hi" or "All right, deal", that's so tough because the first one is common, and the second one should be common as well when it comes to making deals/bargains/gambles. Also, MC walking around with whichever option is hilarious. "Who the hell is calling themselves the Great Mammon and why are they my soulmate?"

And like, with MC supposedly going to the past with Nightbringer, do their words change once in the past? Does a second set of words appear, or have they each always had two sets of words?

"You don't know me?"/" You seriously forgot who I am...?!" -MC first words in NB

Present MC/Mammon who, if they've always had two sets of words, constantly wonder what will happen between them. Because you could pair it with the writing being in your soulmate's handwriting, so each set would obviously be the same. So they know they're each other's soulmate, but why two sets of words? MC trying to lighten the mood and say "It just means we're together in every universe".

And then NB events happen and it clicks why there's two sets. And NB Mammon, along with all of his brothers possibly, probably freezing in their tracks hearing MC speak directly to Mammon. So soon after the fall and the war too.

BUT THEY ALL BELIEVE MC IS A DEMON IN THE BEGINNING SO THEY'RE LIKE "???". Maybe MC has their wrist covered as part of their disguise in this AU. That would be painful, having to lie/play dumb about soulmates and act confused meanwhile your heart is breaking on the inside lol

OOF the implications! Of course the timeline shenanigans make everything more complicated.

Make it even crazier and more confusing if Mammon has the past words and MC has the future words.

Because for MC, the OG lines from Mammon are the first words they hear from him, right? So that's either the phone call or what he says when he shows up face to face.

And the Mammon has the NB words from MC because technically that's his past, so they would be the first words he hears from MC.

Imagine hearing your soulmate's first words from you, but then realizing that your first words don't fit with what they have on their wrist.

Then NB happens but Mammon doesn't remember or even realize that MC heard the words on their wrist from him.

I actually quite like soulmate au type situations, but the first words one is complicated lol. Though what other sorts of things could indicate a soulmate? Like a red string or maybe just tattoo/symbols manifesting on you that match your soulmate's. I think I've seen ones where it's like you only see black and white until you meet them.

But I like the concept of always finding your soulmate in any timeline, especially since we have an easy set up for that in Obey Me! Like it doesn't matter how well you know each other or what time it is or what realm you're in, you always end up finding that person, you know?

Anyway, this has the potential for much angst, I think! Due to the part where MC might have to hide their words since it's only a human thing. That would be so hard. And you know they couldn't tell Mammon 'cause I don't think he could keep that secret lol.

Unpopular Percy Jackson opinions/takes

He IS afrolatino-coded but very much specifically monoracial and darkskin with super strong features.He looks exactly like Poseidon so lightskin biracial Percy dosen't make sense and is a copout and realistically a whitepassing/lighter black person wouldn't get treated as bad he does in the mortal world with the privilege we have from our mixed heritage

He's objectively the most autistic character in the entire franchise in characterization,storylines,dynamics and even character concept-Yes,obviously the protagonist of the neurodivergent abuse victims book series is autistic,y'all wildin' for that allistic Percy shit.He SCREAMS audhd,y'all just hate non-stereotypical autistics and like pretending he isn't one of us so you can make it look like he was victimizing your faves(Jason/Nico shippers:Please go outside)

How Marinette and Adrien Meet in Magical Connections (And Why I Love It)

I think what I find the most entertaining about Marinette and Adrien's first introduction to each other in my rewrite is that it's so causal

Marinette just sees him and goes "oh shit Adrien Agreste" and he's like "yeah sup, nice to meet you" and then boom, they become friends (obviously it's not exactly like that but it's basically what happens)

And the other thing is, it doesn't happen in origins, Ladybug and Chat Noir meet about a week before Marinette and Adrien do and the thing is, they don't even meet through mutual friends or anything like it's literally the most casual way to meet your soulmate ever

This is genuinely the part I'm having the most fun with when it comes to the story, because I want it to be more realistic, so obviously not everyone is going to know each right off the bat, Marinette and Adrien don't have crushes on either of their partners counterparts right off the start, and so on

Like are the forces of the universe (aka me) pulling strings to make things happen? Yes absolutely

But the thing is, this is a story about Marinette, Adrien, Ladybug, and Chat Noir, it's a story about ALL OF THEM, every single aspect

So I want to make it apparent that while yes they're the main characters and yes of course they're endgame, it's not JUST about their relationship, it's also about their friends, it's about Adrien breaking free, it's about Ladybug learning to be Paris' savior, it's about EVERYTHING that makes them, them

One thing about marc in this au is that he has Main Character Syndrome!!! He really believes that everything is going to work out in the name of True Love™, and he doesn't really comprehend that like, life doesn't always work out that way. When alex was like 'do you really think he's going to see your face in the grandstand and stop his bike to profess his love for you,' or whatever, marc's brain was like 'actually yes that's going to happen!!!!'

He's sort of simplistic in his view of relationships in this au. In my head he's never really dated because he just assumes that people won't want to date someone who does OF, so his frame of reference for romance is like, movies and his parents. From his perspective it's not 'why the fuck would valentino rossi date a porn star' it's 'why WOULDN'T vale fall in love with me?? we're obviously soulmates and we are destined to have crazy nasty sex together forever'

It's also funny because (spoiler alert) everything IS going to work out in the name of True Love™ because I'm self-indulgent and I think they're soulmates in every universe!!!

Ideas for an acechiji soulmate au + modern au?? Pwease? 🙏🧎‍♂️🙇‍♂️

K so, before anything, I actually have a soulmates au and a modern au ASL idols au. I can also tell you bout them if you want uwu

So, idea:

Judge probably doesn't like much the whole soulmates thing, unless the soulmate is someone with power and/or money. Obviously, this leads to the kids having to repress whatever they actually think/feel about the whole soulmates ordeal.

Ichiji is the heir to Germa 66 Enterprise, so he, more than anyone, has to suppress all of that, specially after Judge sent Sanji away (they don't have that bad of a relationship here), he is barely able to see his little brother anymore. He doesn't actually want to inherit the enterprise, Niji has always been the one most interested in technology after all, hell, even Sanji was more interested in technology than Ichiji. He actually has a secret passion for the arts, specially theatre.

So when he enters the prestigious New World University and is revealed that it's required all students attend to at least one extracurriculum activity, he ends up choosing the Scenic Arts Theatre Club, lead by Global Politics student Gol D Sabo and his brother the Fire Science and EMT student Portgas D Ace.

In this au soulmates share pain and scars, so it isn't easy to find your soulmate.

Not that Ichiji cares to find them, however, Ace is a bit of a romantic in that regard, it's the whole "someone who will love, support, care for and accept you no matter what", he keeps all of that in his dreams tho. Specially as time passes spent with Ichiji in the club, he can't help but grow closer to him as he sees this stoic and shy man grow more expressive and confident with every show they put on, ofc he will always be on the quiet and introverted type, but he relaxes and lets go a bit with the theatre gang, and seeing his passion in turn makes Ace grow more appreciation and passion for theatre. How can he not fall in love? He would like it if Ichiji turned out to be his soulmate...

He actually suspects Ichiji might be his soulmate, he has been paying attention after all, there have been small intances, the blink and you'll miss type of instances, where he's sure he has felt Ichiji's pain, or that Ichiji has felt his own (although the latter is harder since Ichiji is so stoic), but there's actual proof, until Ace has an accident in the Fire Fighter Divison he's interning at.

Ace had missed that day's rehearsal for the oncoming christmas show they were going to put on, and there was an emergency, but due to stuff out of his control he ended up trapped and impaled on his torso, his left elbow and right forearm wer also severely burnt (not enough to destroy his firefighting career but enough to leave obvious scars). It happened during the rehearsal, the pain was so intense that Ichiji screamed and fell down in the middle of reciting his line, later that day Sabo received the call from the hospital Ace was in, he was the one to first connect the dots, but he won't tell either yet because he's busy worrying about his brother and then caring for him.

Ichiji is the second one to connect the dots, the first time he's allowed to visit Ace, he sees the injuries and realizes that those are the parts he felt that paralysing pain in, he touches the growing scars, specially the mortal one on his torso, he swallows as he thinks about the pain Ace must have felt, his own was terrible and had him briefly bedridden, Ace's must have been, still be, ten times worse, the phantom pain still activates his reflects and causes him trouble. Part of him, however, is awed by the discovery, he had been attracted to Ace since their first meeting, the man was charming and handsome, friendly and relaxed and so unashamedly himself, his care had helped him grow out of his shell. He shouldn't care about soulmates, but knowing that Ace is his makes him happy, yet still sad, after all, his father would never approve of their relationship (not cuz they're both men, but because Ace isn't a good choide for him as the heir of Germa 66).

He keeps visiting Ace in he hospital, always dressed well covered not only due to the winter weather, but to cover the matching scars.

It isn't until Ace is discharged that Sabo remembers to tell him about the "Ichiji is your soulmate" situationship. Ace is elated, still, the brothers are confused about Ichiji's secrecy of the topic, they know he's smart enough to have connected the dots too. They get their answers from Sanji, who was visiting with Zoro, and Sanji tells them about both Ichiji being the heir and their father's opinions on soulmates and control on his kids ("I was really surprised that he was allowed to join theatre club out of everything, turns out Niji, Yonji and Reiju are helping him cover that... I'm happy for him")

Ace "confronts" Ichiji with his newfound information right before winter break to give him space to think about everything, Ichiji freezes up and has a miserable winter break, however, his siblings support him, they even have a little escapade to visit Sanji, who also pushes him to break free from Judge.

They push him so much that he makes up his mind before winter break is over and visits Ace a little before New Year.

They kiss.

And keep their relationship a secret from Judge and other people with all their friend's help.

Ofc, it all will have to come crashing down at some point, no secret can be kept forever.

This poor man cannot decide which version of his history he wants to believe lol. Was it tense because you hadn’t talked or was it just a lil break and everyone was cool and friendly the whole time, Patrick?

hahahaha I saw that statement and immediately thought of all of our hiatus discussions.

I think I can save Patrick a little bit there, though. I think it is pretty settled from the various accounts of that time period that Pete and Patrick made up first and then decided to get the rest of the band back together once they'd hashed out their relationship some. I think it's also been stated enough times that it seems true that the hardest person to persuade was Joe and that Patrick spent hours on the phone with him convincing him to come back. So I actually think Patrick's statement in the Kerrang interview of "it was tense, we hadn't talked to each other in a long time" might have been about his relationship with Joe (and possibly Andy, although that has always come across as more easy-going). Maybe, in fact, a lot of what seems like contradictions in what Patrick says about the hiatus are him talking about two different relationships and not being clear in that.

I think a lot about that post I saw about how soulmate-y Pete and Patrick are, like, regardless of any romantic attachment, their story is just too intertwined for them to be anything but fated creative partners. Their relationship has seen its share of fraught exchanges but mostly born from the intensity of that star-crossed soulmate bond, tbh. That feeling of inevitable magnetism between them, like they're not finished without each other and make up a whole person, also means that Patrick and Pete are probably both very serious when they can say simultaneously that they talked almost never during the hiatus but never stopped being Pete&Patrick. Like, that silly, ridiculous thread that binds them could never have been snapped by something so simple as a little while not talking. And they seem to elementally have known that, too, that no matter how far they might try to wander away from each other, they would always eventually snap back and be waiting for each other. Which is not to say that they don't clearly put time and effort and care into their relationship with each other, but it is to say that they exist on this different plane that, honestly, probably no other person in the universe but the two of them can truly comprehend, and so it makes sense that when they talk about how it works, it's all over the place to the rest of us but perfectly unremarkable to them. Patrick barely knew Pete's kid but also never stopped being Pete's best friend: of course. How could it be otherwise???? They're Pete&Patrick.

The other part of this is that I really respect and praise and am impressed by Joe and Patrick and the work that they both clearly put into *their* relationship. Because Joe isn't part of that star-crossed fated soulmate thing. He was on the outside of that looking in, which was obviously a painful place to be. And Patrick couldn't rely on that soulmate bond to make up for the hurt feelings of the hiatus. Pete&Patrick called each other up and boom, started writing songs together again, of course they did, it's written in the stars for them. Patrick and Joe really had to work together to make it back and it's so lovely that they did it because now look at them making each other laugh every single night on stage.

But, anyway, this is to say that when I think about how Patrick tells the story of the hiatus and is kind of all over the place, it's starting to make more and more sense to me when I think of how part of the story of the hiatus is Patrick and his weird fanficcy creative soulmate life partner twin destiny person, like, that part of the story probably will never make sense to those of us who don't have one of those lol, they just interact on a level and in a way that the rest of us will never get. And they're even very straightforward and upfront about that, and still it's always amazing to me when I realize where it crops up.

Don't know if you're still accepting asks about LSoW, but you mentioned once that all of the turtles in your au are intersex, except Mikey. Can I ask why you made them so and why Mikey is the exception?

I'm always accepting asks about LSoW! :D I'm not the best about answering them because I have crippling anxiety, but I love getting asks. ;-;

Disclaimer first: Genuinely no disrespect to any intersex people, because chromosomal differences and IRL intersex conditions have near next nothing to do with (I cannot exaggerate this enough) TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, the depiction of the Turtles in LSoW, or honestly, half the AU's with the same sort of headcanon. So keep that in mind. I strongly encourage people to do some research into actual intersex people and characteristics, because it isn't my intention at all to represent very normal people with (STILL CANNOT EXAGGERATE THIS ENOUGH) TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. (Although if there IS an intersex person who reads LSoW and is like, hell yeah ninja turtles are just like me, more power to you brother. I wrote it for you and you only, I am kissing you gently on the head like a benevolent patron.)

That being said, 'intersex' was the best term I could come up with for this head canon, and fits so.

Reason 1: It's funny.

I am making Leonardo ninja turtle deal with turtle equivalent of periods, that is the funniest shit I will ever do. The idea that A: Raph dealt with it first, B: Leo was a smug shithead about it and then dealt with it a year after, and then C: Donnie was SMUGGER THAN HIM, and also dealt with it the NEXT WEEK? Hilarious. I am a comedy god.

Also I think I headcanoned Raph as having CJ with Casey a long time ago because Casey and Raph are soulmates in every universe. But problem is I headcanon Casey as TRANS, so how did they have Casey? Adoption is also great, but you know what would be FUNNIER-

Reason 2: Mikey's personality. (Also, it's funny again.)

When Draxum was making the turtles in LSoW, he gave them all the bits and pieces he needed in order to make them effective yokai super soldiers. Man literally said 'I'm making a turtle that can hold a sword and do backflips, I'm gonna give it all this other stuff too, OBVIOUSLY.' But box turtles are already pretty territorial and aggressive? I think the reason I gave at the time was Draxum literally said, 'Michelangelo is already so territorial if I gave him estrogen he'd have killed the others.' (Which is a gross oversimplification of how turtles split gender in the egg, herpetologists pls don't @ me they're ninja turtles I am sorry.)

Also it's funny again because Mikey is also smug down the chain of brothers from oldest to youngest with not having to deal with this embarrassing problem, but then DOESN'T get whacked with the egg whammy stick like the others?? Smug youngest sibling?? Mikey asking Leo with fake sympathy, 'Oh, is it your troubles again?' and Leo is forced to try and kill him with a rock.

Reason 3: Draxum (Also STILL YET ANOTHER reason to be funny.)

Draxum figures in the far off distant future if his supersoldiers DO make nests and eggs, a very territorial and family oriented guard that DOESN'T nest would be super effective.

Imagine the post apocalypse future where Raph and Casey have CJ, and you are a simple resistance soldier. You are minding your business surveying Krang tunnels after a delicious breakfast of beetle protein bar shaped into dino-nuggie form courtesy of Donatello Hamato, and Mystic Master Michelangelo appears out of the shadows in a side tunnel and tries to skin you with a fork because you got within a half mile of his expecting brother and his ninja girl friend.

(The only Y/N fic I will ever write.)

I hope that answers the question!! Also reminder to everyone that even though I am taking a little break from TMNT, my fics are far from abandoned and I have them cooking along in the background. Most of the writing I get done is in spite of horrible unmedicated ADHD, anxiety, and being 30 years old with a very tiring job and increasingly troubling disability. That's not me complaining, but I think a little reminder that a lot of fic writers do this as a hobby. The second I feel the slightest bit of pressure I crumble away from fics like I've been cursed by a mummy, because feeling pressure from something so silly is wild to me.
