To fear death you must first realise that the soul inside you wants to live.

it is so important that you are a little bit ugly. please get comfortable with having unplucked eyebrows and nonexistent jawlines and wrinkles. let your blue hair grow out into an uneven pale green and your clothes be old and mend them and modify them until they’re unique to you. wear lipstick which doesnt compliment your skintone and mismatched outfits which went out of fashion 5 years ago. be a little bit too loud and a little bit too passionate and as weird as you can be because oh my god there is nothing more disturbing to me than perfection. beauty is manufactured and sold to us and you need to realise that you are a fucking animal to live a joyful life I am so serious. you cant obsess over aesthetics forever please just live messily and make your body your home however you please.
if you dont do it for you, do it for all the teenagers who will see u in the street and know that they are not obligated to be attractive

If you want to call yourself "madpunk", "cripplepunk", "neuropunk", etc, your activism better not stop at the things you find "bad". People with no empathy. People with personality disorders. People who need their aids in daily life. People who have extreme fluctuating emotions. People with paraphilias. People with dissociative disorders. Psychotic people. People who have different modes of eating, excreting, having sex, etc. Homeless people. People who wear diapers. People who have violent urges/thoughts. People who you think are "dangerous". People who use drugs. People who need medication to survive and live. People with physical deformities. People who have delusions. People who struggle with feeding themselves, cleaning, working, etc.
If you think any of these factors make someone "abusive", you are ableist. Abusers are abusive. None of the above things make someone an abuser.
Madpunk and cripplepunk aren't just "adhd and autism punk". Or "mobility aid user punk". Keep that in mind.

If you want to be a girl, you can just be a girl.
If you want to be a boy, you can just be a boy.
& your options aren't limited to the binary.
Maybe you're a combination of genders.
Maybe you have no gender.
Maybe your gender is fluid.
Maybe it's intrinsically linked to your neurodivergence.
Or maybe it's something else entirely.
You can just be you 💖

this disability pride month i'd like to remind y'all that "visibly disabled" does not imply "mobility aid user" (nor anything else other than "people can see there is something about you that doesn't fit abled hegemony")
OP is autistic and talking about its experiences being autistic (AND multiply disabled). don't fucking touch if you have no solidarity towards autistic people.

I don't wanna be the "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" that helped you find yourself again.
I wanna be the Autistic Trans Girl you asked to be your girlfriend and is always there for you, Iwanna be the Puppy Girl that you give headpats to.
I don't wanna be A Wonderful Experience, I wanna be Everything for you.

there’s nothing wrong with needing to use gps directions to get everywhere.
it doesn’t mean you’re “stupid”, it doesn’t mean you’re not trying hard enough or not paying enough attention. it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong or taking the easy way out. it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be allowed to be independent.
yes, even if you need it to get somewhere you’ve been a million times before. even if you need it to get around the town you’ve lived in your entire life. even if other people think you should be able to go without it.
if you wouldn’t judge another disabled person for using certain tools that let them live more independently, don’t judge yourself for doing the same.
and never ever let someone else shame you into going out into the world without the tools that allow you to feel safe.
these tools exist to be used, so use them if you need them. there’s no shame in needing help.

Our autistic lives don't have to look like theirs
Might be having the best autistic day of my life. Today I:
Passed my qualifying exam to become a PhD candidate, where I got to infodump about my special interest for 2 hours to experts in my field. I'm actually admired for all the random shit I know instead of ridiculed for it.
Found out I got a scholarship to honor me for mentoring younger neurodivergent and queer academics
Got to have my favorite safe food for lunch to celebrate with my absolutely delightful autistic husband and then I got to go pet kittens at the local humane society
Posted a new chapter of my >160,000 word Star Wars fanfiction, only a fraction of the way through the chapters I have outlined
Currently working on a massive cross-stitched Star Wars tapestry (which I have already been working on for a year and a half and will continue to work on for probably a decade of my life) while watching anime in a quiet old house in a quiet small town
AND my life is full of amazing neurodivergent people who have been sending me so many lovely messages. They support me without wishing I was any different than I am.
Sometimes I wish I could go back and talk to the me just a few years ago that wondered if I was a mistake, that wondered whether it was worth it to keep living it all. I'd tell them that this life is possible and beautiful and that it's not worth the wasted time and energy to try to suck up to neurotypical people who won't ever love you as you are. So instead I'll scream it into the void here: Our lives don't have to look like theirs. And it's not worth the effort to try. Learn to love the beautiful autistic life you have. Autistic adulthood is hard in the world that we live in but it is also so fucking worth it.
I am extremely privileged to be in the position that I'm in, but I couldn't have even gotten close without the self-love I found waiting for me in neurodivergent community. It's waiting for you too.
If you see this, I love you and I'm not the only one that will <3

They say:
-You can't be AuDHDer because you are "normal".
-We're all a little autistic/ADHD.
-You can't be AuDHDer because you are queer and trans and you had s3x with your partner.
And stuff like that.
But when I don't mask, when I show autistic and ADHD joy, when I stim, when they see my special interests, they say I'm "weird", "childish" or "stupid".
When I show my difficulties, when I need support, when I have repetitive and racing thoughts, they say I'm "picky", "selfish", "spoiled".
When I have a meltdown or a shutdown, they say I'm "mad".
When they know that I am neurodivergent, they say I'm "ill".
I'm not ill, mad, spoiled, selfish, picky, stupid, childish or weird.
AuDHD is a disability, difficulty, joy, special interests, hyperfocus, mood swings, hypersensitivity, etc...
AuDHD is not an illness.

I like that there is positivity about autistic women getting portrayed as cute and endearing and stuff but as a Gay autistic I would like to point out that autistic men are also often really adorable and sweet and don't get much positive comments

Our take on Disaqueer and Neuroqueer flags
and
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Disabgender and Neurogender flags
Disaqueer - A disabled queer person who experiences their queerness and disability as tied to together and/or disability significantly affecting their queerness or understanding of it.
Neuroqueer - A subtype of disaqueer for queer neurodivergent people who experiences their queerness and neurodivergence as tied to together and/or neurodivergence significantly affecting their queerness or understanding of it.
Disabgender - A disabled person who experiences their gender and disability as tied to together and/or disability significantly affecting their gender or understanding of it.(Note there already a unrelated gender called disagender, so we didn't use the term)
Neurogender - A subtype of disabgender for neurodivergent people who experiences their gender and neurodivergence as tied to together and/or neurodivergence significantly affecting their gender or understanding of it.
The disaqueer and neuroqueer flags use the lower-case Greek letter lambda (λ) as a symbol because due to it being the international symbol for gay and lesbian rights. The disaqueer uses the alchemical sun symbol (☉) because of this post. The neuroqueer flags the Greek letter Psi (Ψ) due to it being used as a symbol of psychology and psychiatry. Disaqueer and neuroqueer flags are based on this queer flag. Disaqueer and disabgender flags are based on this disability flag. Neuroqueer and Neurogender flags are based on this neurodivergent flag

“To stim is to engage in any action that falls outside the boundaries of the social performance of normativity, and that provides some form of sensory stimulation in order to facilitate, intentionally or otherwise, some particular cognitive or sensorimotor process, or access to some particular state or capacity of consciousness or sensorimotor experience.”

Alexa, How do you make friends when you're autistic?
As an autistic person I constantly feel like every time I open my mouth I dig myself a deeper grave, and all I wanna do is understand and connect with people.
I feel so isolated and I have absolutely no idea how to meet new people.
Anyone wanna be friends?
