There is no excuse for cruelty let alone the brutality felt by palestinians and the congolese we all at one time know the feeling of being unheard many of us the feeling of being less than human all of us who have felt this have a duty to speak for palestine and the DRC and everyone else being ineffably abused as they are.
Would people be more interested in a "blind date event" where readers can request to be set up on a blind date with their blorbo of choice in a modern au setting (I play the role of the matchmaker like in Mulan, sass included for free) -
OR
- a "one kiss is all it takes" event where reader can request a perfect scenario where their blorbo of choice falls in love after one kiss?
Please comment or send me your thoughts - I am already making the banner for it :) Looking to keep cap it at 10 requests, one blorbo per request. In a perfect world I don't get repeat requests
I was thinking of doing something, and I really need to hear y'all opinions on this.
I've thought about it for a few days, and started by giving it a chance with the one shots, but I might start this blog from zero. What will change?
1. I'll create a new main blog, so I'm able to interact with you they way I wished to (because whenever I see comments, I wish I could anseer to the few I get)
2. I'll repost the stories there, which means that all the fanfics will be completely accessible on Tumblr, without having to go to Wattpad to read the full chapters. (This is basically because I see that a lot of people struggle being able to read the full chapters whenever they have to go to Wattpad, so I hope it won't be a problem anymore).
It'll take me a while, but I'll try to start working on it from now on depending on your opinions.
Remember the 6 year old girl who was surrounded by Israeli tanks and the red crescent couldn't reach her? Her name is Hind Hamadeh. Here you can hear the phone call her 15 year old sister, Layan Hamadeh, made with the medics. She was killed exactly a moment later including all people in the car, except for 6 year old Hind who was stuck in the car with the dead bodies of her family, Israeli tanks and IDF surrounding her, shooting, preventing anybody to reach her.
That was last night (29.1.24). Today, still nothing. The fate of Hind remains unknown.
palestine red crescent ambulance team went to rescue her yesterday evening, but they have not returned as of now. We lost contact with them about 18 hours ago, and we still remain unaware of their fate and whether they succeeded in evacuating her or not.
Please, share Hind's story as much as you can on any platform. We need to know what happened to her. Put yourself in her place, how terrified she must be. Don't scroll past this.
Jason being the easiest kid is super funny. Bruce looking at Jason and remembering Dick at 18: “we can work through this. He’ll come around if I don’t give up on.”
Bruce, watching over a freshly street-snatched Jason: Why is he so calm
Having Dick as the rambunctious, feral, and unhinged first child must've given him SO much whiplash once Jason entered the picture. Lil guy just vibed in his own world. Just reading books and doing schoolwork. Baby Jason hurt nobody.
Bruce will just be going over the ground rules of the manor, remembering all the chaos Dick brought upon the household.
Bruce: No swinging from the chandelier.
Jason: ?? I wasn't planning to?
Bruce: No murder.
Jason: What? That never even crossed my mind-
Bruce: And please, for the love of God, don't sneak out and try to beat up the nearest criminal on our block
Jason:
Jason: WHO is responsible for these rules being created??
Bruce will just come home from a long day of work. He's tired and just wants a nice, quiet evening, but he's subconsciously psyching himself up to prepare himself for the chaos he'll witness once he enters the manor
but then Jason's just quietly doing his own thing, maybe even helping Alfred with some chores, reading, or just lounging about in the manor. In general, just causing no trouble and Bruce just turns to Alfred, all worried like, "Is he sick? I don't think children are supposed to behave this way."
I didn't think that we would still have to remind people that David Tennant and Michael Sheen don't owe us an explanation for Neil's actions. They are under no obligation to speak up, comment on it or discuss the situation publicly. Chances are they knew as much about it as we did a little over a month ago. Being quiet about it is not weird or suspicious. It's none of their business.
on twitter, a viral thread started where people around the world shared their translations of “If I must die”, the last work of Dr Refaat Alareer also known as "the voice of Gaza". A beloved poet, teacher and life-long activist for Palestine, he was recently assassinated along with members of his extended family by a targeted Israeli air strike. His loss leaves a hole in the heart of palestinians all over the world.
Below the cut, I’ll be posting the translations of his poem, with links to the original posts. Unfortunately, tumblr limits posts to a maximum of 30 images. I will update when I can.
If you're USamerican and feel very strongly about how people vote in this upcoming election, if you feel hopeless about how those around you aren't voting, here's some suggestions.
Sign up to be a poll worker or election worker in your county. You might need to call or email the local election office to find out how to do this.
Get very familiar with your local voting process and its bureaucracy. Know the important deadlines and remind people of them. (Being a poll worker helps a lot with this.)
Ask your friends and family if they're voting. Have progressive voting guides on hand if they don't know who or what to vote for. Offer to drive people or go with them to vote. Fill out your mail-in ballots together.
Organize and join get out the vote campaigns. Canvass. Table. Flyer. Call. Text.
Don't shame people for ambivalence, disinterest, or hostility to voting. Be curious. Provide practical advice and tangible support.
People get so pissy when they're told to be mindful not to overstep when discussing the oppression of a community they aren't a part of and it's sooooo obvious too like, how are you being supportive if you can't take criticism from the group of people you're "supporting"
