If you are a woman, specifically a woman of color this message is for you!
This is your sign to stand up for yourself!!!!!
In the bedroom. In the boardroom. At the family cookout. Stand up for yourself. You are not a door mat for others to trample over. Show yourself how much you love yourself and stand up for you! You can not be everything to everyone and nothing to yourself.
Love always, Kae 💕

Buck reminds me of myself when I put everyone before myself. Back in the day when I tolerated their behavior (of treating me like a doormat) and excused myself, well knowing the asshole stood on the opposite side of me.
I was a people pleaser, avoiding conflicts. What did it get me? Nothing but hurt. In retrospect, I was an idiot, but I didn't see it like that then. And it took me years to UNlearn that issue because it is an issue. You can't be friends with everybody and have to set boundaries.
Once I did that, I suddenly was called unkind, heard things like, "You changed, I liked your old you." Well why? Because now I was looking after myself first and dared to say NO, or I don't have time right now, maybe later... I was shocked to learn how many people weren't caring about my well-being, after that, but also glad I had freed myself from these FAKE friends.

famimind_ Walking away from a dysfunctional family isn’t easy—it’s one of the hardest decisions you might ever face. The guilt, the fear, the hope—it all weighs heavy. But sometimes, protecting your peace means choosing yourself, even when it feels like the hardest thing to do.
It’s not selfish to prioritize your well-being. It’s brave. It’s necessary. And it’s the first step toward healing.
If you’ve ever struggled with this decision, know you’re not alone. ❤️‍🩹

I don’t care what anyone says. Bluey is so punk. Like oh? You’re teaching the younger generation to question authority, properly voice their feelings, set boundaries, and hold adults accountable when they’re wrong? Connecting and understanding people despite a cultural divide? Showing people you can break generational trauma and become the parent you needed when you were a kid? Showing kids and adults alike that you don’t need to be rewarded for helping out others and that the act of helping is your reward? And you have universal health care? That’s punk as fuck.

Sunday 🫶🏽
This past weekend was all about unwinding and rejuvenating, but it also sheds light on the fact that some individuals have a negative attitude toward those who set boundaries.
