and the both of them are in a commited platonic/business relationship with velvette who has absolutely no sexual or romantic interest in either of them (idk if shes a lesbian or aspec or bi and they're just not her type in that way; but its all the same result)

and yet none of them view their partnership as anything below or lesser than compared to the romantic and sexual relationships they do have. if not outright being more important than those (QPR-cule) 

and ofcourse vox and vel will be standing right alongside valentino as he says this, nodding along without a hint of sarcasm or self awareness because they also genuinely think they believe the same thing.

and if you try to point this out to any of them (and somehow convince them that what they have going on is queer platonic and aspec in nature) they'll just be like "yeah but we're The Vees, we're overlords, we can just do whatever the Fuck (or lack there of) we want" and you know what they're right

Also it's not like we've never had anticlimatic endings to arcs before but that one was especially frustrating, right? I'm not the only one that kind of wanted more out of battling Mother Lauren, right? They put in more effort to get rid of Strex, I swear it was so.

And that's without factoring in the strange twist of 'Kevin is now his own father and is hinted at having kind of always raised himself this might or might not be a literal timeloop'. Although it being a literal timeloop is still not something I can get my head around, especially since people don't age in the DOW and the real Desert Bluffs is no more and Lauren isn't human any more and never will be again.

I haven’t been able to write much recently because of exams, but good lord, Dr. Laurence Frost is such a guy. Like, his situation is horrific, right. He’s living a psychological horror story but does not recognize that whatsoever. There’s some real shit going on with him because I really want to capture how cults actually work, especially on the ways they prey on vulnerable people - and despite him objectively being a pretty terrible person in his own right I wanna make sure I capture the nuances of his situation accurately.

However, and this is really important: he’s also fucking hilarious.

Imagine having resting bitchface so severe even the dawn machine leaves you the definition of -_- <- having a great time. He invented a genuinely impressive treatment for migraine headaches out of love & devotion and then immediately used that same formula to torture rebels. Despite being an utter shell of grief at the time he was still a decent guardian to Bev. He let Bev play with matches. And chemicals. He’s the only man on this Geode with a smidge of self awareness. His gift for Vincent’s stag party was cosmogone laced cocaine. Vincent chose him to be the godfather of his child. His closest direct inspiration is the fucking 300% fatality surgery guy. He works two jobs. Canonically he has no friends. I love him.

so many people just hear "dick was a cop" and go "eww im gonna pretend i didnt see that" and like. if its just bc you cant handle the subject matter thats one thing, but often times its just. performative. especially because the actually storyline is so much about dick trying (and as far as ive gotten to reading so far, failing) to make a change in the system and be a "good cop". it's an extremely heavy but genuinely very interesting storyline. dick does find other "good cops", but they're very much the minority and usually keep their heads down, because cops are bastards and will ruin the lives of "fellow officers" who try and do things right. they try to frame dick for murder at one point and everything.
