Hi there. I LOVE dragons. Dragons are what my dreams are made of. They move in heavings of the mind and the voluntary power instinct of mountains. They are INCREDIBLE.

I love how versatile they are, too. A dragon could be a tiny armless wriggly thing that eats eggshells or could be this collosal beast made from shattered glass and golden veins. I get unreasonably upset when I see a drawing of a half-naked woman with a dragon in the back being tagged as 'dragon art', too. I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE BITCHES!! My favourite types of dragon are the sharp ones and the ugly ones. By being not afraid to make a dragon ugly, the creator makes it far more beautiful than any other. I've also got to love the [object] dragons. I saw a lava lamp one just yesterday, and the gloopy substance on the inside made the stupid thing magnificent.

I used to play a game called Dragons World right up until December, when the servers shut down (without warning :[ ). I had this Spring dragon named Summer (ironic, I know) who was my maximum level killing machine. That dragon was also my first exposure to gender fluidity, because all the dragons in the game didn't have set sexes and my little brain just accepted that Summer was a he/she.

he asked you out. 3 times and counting. you see, the first time you rejected him, it was because you hadn’t really known eachother much. second time was because it was literally four days after the last time he asked you out, and the third? because he was getting really repetitive.

sure! he was cute. sure. but so goddamn annoying. the way he’d snicker back to his friends when he complimented you, rolling your eyes in response.

“ynnnnnnn! love your skirt~” which might have been a normal compliment, if you weren’t adjusting it from when it rode up, so you just scoff in response as he turns to his friends, a giddy smirk on his face. “see guys, she’s literally sooooo into me.”

the way he’d shamelessly eye you in that one class you had together, looking up from your laptop and catching him with that stupid (incredibly charming!!!!) smile, raising his eyebrows and you just look away, not really wanting to give him the attention he wants.

little do you know, he loves this— a little too much. the rush he gets when you call him an “asshole” under your breath, or how pretty you look when you give him that face. he likes it. and sure, this game is cat and mouse was fun, but he honestly wanted it to end.. or at least see you get pissed at him again <3

so at the end of class, with a snicker, his fingers wrap around your wrist, pulling you back to him. “cmere, ynieeeee~” the way he said your name has your blood boiling, not to mention the way his friends crowd at the door, watching you two. “yn, your skirt is really cuteeee, seriously. and your top, too!” he grins, eyes traveling to your chest. he only likes the top because it’s low cut. “fucking creep!!” you slap his hands away, stepping away as you eye him up and down.

you step closer to him, putting a hand on his shoulder as you look up at him, a shy smile on his face. “awwww, beomgyu!!!! well… in that case… maybe fifth times the charm?” you giggle as you leave him, waving at him like nothing even happened.

“like… right here?” he states unsurely as the block in his character’s hand is placed down on a small patch of grass. 

a couple of silent seconds pass with you inspecting the placement and how it fits with the entirety of the building design you had in mind, a couple of comments coming in from your viewers as well.

“yup, it’s perfect. thank you, lovie!” you exclaim with a giggle, the seriousness in your tone from a few moments prior dropping down as if it was never there. 

“i feel like a contract worker, bub.” he lets out a faux whine, simply trying to garner your attention away from building for a few minutes.

“didn’t you sign up for this as my boyfriend, though?” you muse with a cheshire-like smile, right before getting up from your seat.

with that final reminder, you offer a small kiss to his sullen lips before rushing to the bathroom, a faint clicking noise from the door’s lock being heard by your boyfriend. 

he assumes you wont be able to hear him all the way from the bathroom, deciding to speak his mind freely. “gosh, what am i going to do with my baby, chat?”

“i could never forget about you guys, though! each one of you is important in my life too, y/n just gets the bigger share.” he speaks into his mic before pulling away, content with what he had to say.

A summary/review of parts 1-100 of Homestuck

~by a gecko who knows what a Megalovania is

Let's start things quick and simple. It is the distant year of 2009, where the date is the 13th of April. It is the protagonist John Egbert (aka Zoosmell Pooplord)'s birthday. How fun!

John's actions are very much based around RPG mechanics (the Sylladex, Captchaloging, etc.), which as indicated by the chatlogs seems to be the norm in this world.

Once he opens the magic chest in his room, he gets access to a variety of artifacts, some of which he'll use later. He only takes the smoke pellets at first because he's stupid.

We get some glimpses of the author Andrew Hussie's dated yet charming late-2000's humour through asking John to shit on his desk.

After nailing a Little Monsters poster to his wall (a gift from his Dad), he gets a message from one of his friends on Pesterchum, TG, who says that he got the beta for SBURB for John's birthday.

However, his dad has just come home and John doesn't want to go through the trouble of holding a conversation with him. In the meantime, he figures out how to use his Strife Specibus by allocating the Hammerkind Abstratus, and reads the GameBro magazine, which John seems to have a loathing for.

However, with the freed up room in his Sylladex, he creates a convincing disguise to fool his dad and grab the SBURB beta (it won't).

He goes downstairs into the living room, examines his father's shitty harlequins, knocks over and picks up his Nanna's ashes and opens a large gift for himself, which is also a large harlequin.

Before deciding to sticking fake arms on the harlequin, John gets a message from another Pesterchum mutual, TT.

TT oddly knows everything that John has done up to this point, including being in possession of the SBURB beta and wearing a funny disguise. They tell him to go get the game from his father from downstairs.

After snooping around his father's study and playing a little tune (which is a great way that Homestuck utilizes its medium), John heads outside to the mailbox, to find that dad has already scooped the mail.

But there's a sense that something isn't quite right. With "Windchime Foley" by Clark Powell playing over empty streets and a main title appearing, it implies this scene is the true beginning of the story. The text mentions a "Desolation" that's playing the tune diegetically throughout the streets/town. Maybe it will be a long day.

John heads back inside to finally confront his father and sneakily get the beta, but oops! The disguise didn't work (who would've thunk it?), and there's only to get pass him, which is with a Strife!

(This fight scene's really cool, I quite enjoy this)

After the Colonel's book activates the smoke pellets, John quickly snatches his father's PDA as a joke, and finally gets his hands on the SBURB beta, which is where I ended off.

So is it good? I mean, yeah.

Even if I only read what is a tiny, tiny fraction of Homestuck's story, I can still see how so many people became obsessed over it. The cutesy, almost surreal art style (complete with low quality JPEGS in the vein of Newgrounds), Hussie combining the mystical with the silly in his writing, and the brief bits of music in it illustrate a very "calm before the storm" feeling. I can definitely see how people like Toby Fox were inspired by it.

Despite what some think, the first little bits of Homestuck are an enjoyable experience which foreshadows something bigger yet to come. Solid 8.

It’s as you’re sneaking into the announcer’s booth, with the help of Regulus’ brother did you second guess yourself. This was a bad idea, right? 

You glance at the fake tattoo on your hand, the orange cat staring back at you with its large green eyes. You’re an actual idiot. But you’re at the booth now, so you might as well do what you came to do. 

The game is ending soon, the entire pitch watching the seekers chase after one another with bated breath. The crowd watches as Regulus dives for the snitch, a hand outstretched as you find yourself in front of the announcer’s microphone. 

There’s announcer’s breath hitches, and suddenly everyone’s cheering; hoards of green and silver excited clapping with bright smiles.

“And it looks like my beloved fiancé has caught the snitch!” You say loudly, and mentally prepare yourself for what’s to come next. “Regulus, how proud I am to be able to call you the love of my life.” 

Regulus’ eyes are wide when they find you standing at the booth. Him being your fiancé was not what he signed up for. And he definitely did not agree to you calling him the love of your life. 

Sirius is cackling with James somewhere in the booth, finding the situation all too amusing. “They’re so stupid,” Sirius laughs loudly, clutching at his stomach as you cringe at your own words. “They’re worse than us.” 

There’s commotion from outside the booth, Regulus flying over to you; and with what little adrenaline he had left from the game. Regulus pulls you onto his broom with him, a hand reaching to wrap around you securely as you try not to freak out. What the fuck was going. 

Regulus flies to the middle of the pitch; all eyes on the two of you and began proclaiming his love. He was not going to lose to you of all people. He grabs at your hand and winks at you before dipping his head down to kiss at your skin, right above where the tattoo sat. 

“My love,” he starts, and you fight the urge to knock him off his broom. “How glad I am to forever be binded to you.” 

Yuck! Disgusting. 

“And I; you,” you retorted and when Regulus rolls his eyes at your word, a bashful smile lingering on his lips, you’re glad no one notices it. 

The aftermath of your ‘prank’ is not as funny as you’d hoped for it be. The two of you being called to the Headmaster’s office for a long —and you mean long— scolding before being let out. 

The sun has set when Dumbledore finally lets the two of you go, a disappointed look clear on his face as finally dismisses you. Okay, maybe you went a bit over board with your prank. 

And when you eye the spot where the tattoo previously resides to find it now empty; everything feels just a little too much. 

The school is still alive in the dead of night, rumors being spread through every corner and it seems as though the consequences of your action were catching up with you. 

As if it wasn’t bad enough you got yourself into this mess, you just had to drag Regulus into it with you. 

It’s quiet as you trekked back to your dorms. “I’m sorry,” you began, voice low, “I really should’ve thought it through. If I had just— backed out, you wouldn’t have gotten in trouble.” 

“Don’t be,” he tells you, “for what’s it worth, it was the most fun I had in a long time.” 

You’re holding yourself back from saying something, from apologizing again, and again, and again. And he appreciates your efforts, especially when there was no reason for you to apologize to him. 

“Really?” You ask him instead. “Even if people think we’re engaged to one another now?” 

“Mhmm,” he hums, a small smile appearing on his lips. “Especially so.” 

You’re quiet for a second. “Especially so?” Regulus hums again. “It doesn’t bother you?” You ask him and he shakes his head ‘no’. “Not even a bit?” 

“No,” he says. “Should I be?” 

“Maybe,” you mutter, “girls might— you know, not ask you out because they think we’re together and stuff. That doesn’t bother you?” 

“No,” he tells you, focus fully on you, “I’m not really interested in any of them so it’s not really any of my concerns.” 

“Oh.” 

“I’m interested in someone else.” Oh. 

The lines are easier to read when it’s laid out in front of you. Each syllables, waiting to be spelled out to form a sentence that is easier to understand that it is to breathe. 

You swallow thickly, eyes meeting his. “Really?” 

You’re not asking for much, just a word, a confirmation, a confession. 

“Yeah,” he says, and it’s airy; as if it was stuck in his throat, only slipping for the purpose of you hearing it and you only. “Is it obvious?” 

“It never was before,” you tell him, “but it is now.” 

Regulus contemplates his words for a good minute before he settles on: “does it bother you?” 

“No.” Your voice is faint, soft, intimate; just barely above a whisper and it’s dull compared the rapid beating of both your hearts. “Not even the slightest bit.”

I'm not actually at the point in the story to be in Sumeru (trying to level up to get through more of Inazuma rn), but I had to ascend him at least once. After seeing what he could do against 5 level 47 hillichurls at level 19, well, I had to. I'm not normally a fan of bow characters but he's now the exception lol. He's adorable! I love his little idles where he tugs at his ears ahhhh!

I'm excited to see what I can do with him as he gets better. Maybe he'll be easier to ascend than Kaeya has been. That stupid Cryo Regisvine boss is ridiculously hard for some reason.

Jaime turned a comic book in his direction with a shaggy blonde in makeup that made her look like she had the last stages of syphilis: Dude, this is definitely not Raven.

Damian grimaced: Absolutely not.

Garfield: Who is she? What do they write about her?

Donna: A fifteen-year-old mercenary who extracts human organs to order.

Damian, gloomily: I would have cut off her hands the first time we met. These scavengers are disgusting. I don’t understand doctors who do this kind of thing.

Donna: They write here that she is a meta, and rips out organs with her hands.

Damian: What?!

Garfield: Not cool, guys.

Damian: But it's stupid! An organ removed in this way will die in a matter of seconds. If this is her trade, then she must be a complete idiot not to know such things.

Raven: Or maybe she just likes to gut people.

Jaime: Just pools of blood, just like you said.

Damian: Blood has almost no smell, unlike human insides, the pieces of which will cover you from head to toe if you try to remove an organ in this way. And even the smallest particles of it will start to rot pretty quickly, creating a smell… To be honest, it's unpleasant.

*The Titans, who were “lucky” to visit the crime scene with the corpses, grimaced, remembering how disgusting it smelled there*

Donna: But it can be washed off. Yes?

Damian: No. The smell is deeply ingrained into the fabric. The aroma will be like a dead cat in a garbage pit.

Jaime: Ew!

Garfield: I wish I hadn't trained my imagination...

Donna: What, there’s no way to get it out at all? Alcohol, for example. This... girl seems to go to bars.

Damian, pinching the bridge of his nose: If this is really a teenager, then she can only go to an illegal bar, where it stinks of sour booze and bitter smoke. The mixture of aromas will reek about two meters away.

Jaime: The stink and the black and white outfit. And her name is Skunk Girl, am I right?

Garfield mentally added new smells to the already established image, causing his stomach to lurch unpleasantly: I propose to end this foul-smelling discussion.

Donna: Well...

Jaime: What?

Donna: No, guys, it's not worth it.

Raven: What is it?

Donna: Oh... There's a kissing scene.

Jaime: Ew!

Damian: I'll sue them.

Garfield: I feel sick... Disgusting.

Donna picks up the comic with two fingers, like a dirty rag, and throws it aside: I agree.

after way too long, Act 1 is finally fucking done, yet the more I read it, the shorter it feels. I can’t tell if it’s because I don’t need to absorb the tutorial stuff due to being familiar with the comic already, or because I’m anticipating when shit really goes crazy later on. maybe a bit of both. it certainly preps me for the art style, the flowery language, the weird humor, and so on.

I can say that Act 1 is

fine.

it is of good quality.

nothing groundbreaking and not the best,

but enjoyable nonetheless.

I get that it’s a bit slow and nothing really happens, but I’m able to entertain myself with the page to page shenanigans and good character interactions.

honestly I don’t understand how people skipped this act at all, how the fuck do you skip the start of the story??? don’t you want to like

especially the later part, so much Homestuck skipping was for the sake of immediately getting to the character interactions, but

there are character interactions here,

and

you learn who the characters even are.

like what the fuck, the introduction to the characters and their dynamics should be key to being invested in them, but I guess not because some people were able to just jump in the middle and grow attached while not knowing what the fuck is going on.

in conclusion: people who skipped Act 1 are cringe, and have doomed themselves. Act 1 good.
