Braint rot- rather than having a diary for your feelings imagine Chrollo finding a journal: that all about his Yandere behavior: from the start all the way to the present where he reads about the behaviors you have written down on him. (Like a Yandere psycho book) i imagine he finds it amusing seeing that you been watching him this closely and writing things down or pointing out certain behaviors.
- moonie anon
I imagine it would be more like a log of red flags in the handsome stranger you recently got acquainted with. There are very explicit and detailed descriptions of your not so very normal encounters with the man, but what catches Chrollo's eye the most is the fact that you wrote down every single one of them. You had even noted down the irregularities in his behaviour leading up to him kidnapping you. It's flattering
It shows how attentive you are even if it isn't obvious and shows just how much you thought about him. If nothing else, it's amusing because despite your awareness that something isn't right, you still ended up this way. How ironic

hi lovie !
I ADORE your writing and get so excited everytime you post 😭
I wanted to ask if you’re okay with writing a poly!marauders x reader fic where r is an overthinker and over analyzes small things. It brings r to think the boys are mad at reader so r begins to close off— happy ending w/ healthy communication, just them reassuring r
🤍you can absolutely ignore this!!
thank you baby! I'm so glad to have you here with me 😭 thanks for your request 🫶
poly!marauders x fem!reader
CW: insecurities, overthinking, belief of conflict, eventual healthy communication skills, men behaving rationally (that's how you know it's fiction) jkjkjkjkjk 👀
You knew you were overthinking; you could actually hear yourself spiraling as you chewed aggressively on your cuticles. You ran through every single interaction you and the boys had throughout the past few days and couldn’t help but come to the same conclusion every time.
They were mad at you.
And even saying it aloud made you feel silly because, really, what could you have possibly done that would have managed to upset all three of them without knowing about it?
There had been a few disagreements between the four of you since the beginning of the relationship; more specifically since you had joined the relationship.
The boys, it seemed, went through most of their more volatile fights prior to you meeting them.
But that didn’t mean there weren’t arguments. There were always differences of opinions, some hurt feelings, and learning everyone’s sensitivities and love languages etc. didn’t happen overnight; it took time.
One thing you were particularly thankful for was that you had yet to ever feel like the boys were ‘ganging up’ on you. Your argument always stayed between you and the participant of the conversation and everyone else opted to stay out of it unless they felt they could provide some helpful insight.
But for all of them to be mad at you without some big blow up happening? You couldn't imagine what would have caused it.
It wouldn’t have been anything you said or done to Sirius, as he was a very head strong person who preferred to face things upfront and head on. If you had done something wrong to Sirius, you would have heard about it.
James was a wild card since he usually wore his feelings on his sleeve, but he also had a tendency to paint a smile on his face and smile through the pain in order to keep the peace.
Remus was often stoic and the voice of reason, but you also knew he could be incredibly sensitive.
Oh god... had you done something to upset Remus? You must have...it’s the only rational explanation. He’d likely be telling Sirius not to say anything to you, and since Sirius struggled in biting his tongue, it would make sense that he opt for the “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all” route.
And though James did tend to smile through the pain in order to keep the peace, he was also fiercely protective of his people – particularly when those people don’t seem inclined to stand up for themselves.
Oh god. Is this why they asked you to come over tonight? They wanted to talk to you...no, they wanted to break up with you.
By the time James opened the door, you had forgotten you even knocked. He was all bright smiles until he took in your form – he was disappointed to see you.
“Hello, honey. Come on in.” He said, though his words were stilted, sounding oddly scripted and rehearsed.
“Hey sweets!” Sirius called from somewhere in their flat, “have you eaten yet?”
“Yeah.” You called back, having to clear your throat when your voice came out gravelly. You could feel James’ eyes burning a hole into the side of your face.
“Moony’s running late from work, but he’ll be home soon.” James announced as he ushered you into the living room.
You scanned your surroundings, cataloguing everything like it might be your last time in here.
You found signs of Remus’ love of trinkets and the oddities everywhere you looked, as well as signs of James and Sirius feeding into that by bringing him home things they’ve found as well. There’s a small pewter fox you bought on your trip to the coast sitting on one of the shelves of his bookcase.
Picture frames lined the walls; evidence of Sirius’ love for photography, his camera, and his favourite people.
And the god-awful pillow James found at an estate sale and insisted it have a place on the couch. It was ugly, it was lumpy, it didn’t match with anything else in the space, but it was James’ and he loved it.
Sirius came bounding into the room and rubbed at James’ shoulder affectionately, pecking a quick kiss to the crown of your head in hello before breezing by to head to the kitchen.
“He just got a home a few moments ago, he’s gonna heat up some leftovers for him and for Remus when he gets home.” James explained.
“Do you want any, doll?” Sirius called.
“No, I’m okay. Thank you!” You tried your best to sound upbeat while a horrid feeling settled in your stomach.
James seemed to feel just as awkward as you did; keeping his eyes dutifully on you whilst trying to appear that he wasn’t. His leg bounced anxiously underneath him as he leaned onto the arm of the grandfather chair he sat in – across the room from you.
It may as well have been an ocean worth of distance with the way it left you feeling.
Sirius returned to the living room a few moments later and made himself comfortable on the other end of the couch from you, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table after placing a glass of water directly on the coffee table. You wanted to chide him, knowing Remus would have him by the bollocks if he saw, but you didn’t know if it was your place anymore.
Sirius asked you how your day at work was and you offered him a vague “oh it was alright. Long. How about yours?” which started him on a long tangent about some of his more colourful customers today and how tiresome he found people in general. He and James shared some quips and anecdotes about worst moments in their various retail experiences, and you thought about how much you were going to miss this.
“Okay, what is going on?” Sirius snapped abruptly, causing your head to shoot up so quickly that you heard it crack.
“Huh?” You asked sheepishly.
Sirius’ brows furrowed as he stole a glance at James before turning back to you. “You’re being weird...what’s going on with you?”
But you didn’t get a chance to answer when the sound of the front door alerted everyone to Remus’ arrival. You hated that you visibly tensed at the sound of him moving down the hall.
“Hey bubs. Is she here?” You heard him ask James, since you and Sirius couldn’t yet see him nor he you from his position in the hall way.
You felt your face scrunch up miserably and quickly brought your hands up to shield your face, choking out a silent sob.
“Yeah.” James responded, though his voice was but a whisper as Sirius added a “whoa” at the same time.
“What did you guys do?” Remus cooed and made his way towards you having spotted your distress.
“I’m sorry.” You muttered miserably, both for whatever you’d done to cause this conflict between the four of you and also for your embarrassing display of emotions.
“What are you sorry for, dovey?” Remus asked softly as he knelt in front of you, gently taking your wrists and coaxing them away from your face.
“For upsetting you all.”
Remus’ brows furrowed beyond their worried state and into a more confused state as he turned to look at the other two boys in bemusement.
“Well, I don’t think any of us are happy that you’re so upset, love, but we’re not upset. You don’t have to apologize.” He pressed.
“I don’t think that’s what this is.” James input from his place across the room.
“I’m sorry. I’m not quite sure why you’re mad at me, but I’d like to talk about it with you and I promise not to do it again.” You cried, sounding disturbingly and embarrassingly close to begging.
“Mad at you? Is that why you’ve been such a weirdo tonight? You thought we were mad at you?” Sirius asked incredulously.
“Don’t call her a weirdo, Pads!” James chided, standing from his chair.
“Why’d you think everyone was mad at you, dove?” Remus asked, ignoring the squawking of his boyfriends behind him as he forced you to hold eye contact with him.
“I... I don’t know, I guess things just felt kind of off this week and then...I don’t know.” You admitted dumbly. “And then I got here and, it just felt weird.”
“I’m sorry, angel.” James apologized, suddenly beside you having taken to sitting directly on top of (a very petulant) Sirius. “You seemed distressed and... I got nervous. Usually, Rem is the better one at handling these things, I wanted to wait until he got here to broach the subject. Sirius, though, has the tact of a bull.”
“So, you were just going to let all of us sit here awkwardly until Remus got here to save the day, huh? Not on my fucking watch.” Sirius groaned as he positioned himself to kick James not only off of him, but off the couch completely. This caused Sirius’ glass of water to topple off the coffee table and onto the rug below it.
“Nice going, Prongs,” Sirius spat victoriously from his place on the couch, “look at the mess you’ve made.”
“It wasn’t even my cup!” James defended.
“Don’t think I didn’t notice that wasn’t on a fuckin' coaster, Sirius.” Remus reproached darkly, tossing the dark-haired boy a glare over his shoulder.
Sirius just smirked and then winked at you. “There you go, dollface, now everyone’s mad at me instead.”
“Awe, Pads!” James cooed from the ground before launching himself back onto Sirius. “Look at you, taking the heat off our pretty girl.”
Remus shook his head in exhaustion, but you could see a fond smile ghosting his lips from his place before you.
“Trust me, dove. You’re the least of our problems.”
You chuckled wetly and wiped the tears (and more embarrassingly, the snot) from your face. “I’m sorry. I feel rather silly now.”
Sirius, having given up on his instance to be the little spoon between he and James, looked around James’ broad frame in his lap to face you. “How about this; if we’re ever upset with you, we promise to tell you. If we haven’t said anything; it’s safe to assume we’re not mad. Okay?”
You nodded in agreement.
“And...” James continued. “Next time you find yourself feeling like this, maybe you can tell us, too?”
You nodded emphatically. “Yes, I promise. I’m sorry.”
Remus kissed the backs of both of your hands and stood from his knelt position in front of you.
“No more sorry’s, dove. We’re all good.”
James stood from Sirius’ lap to place a warm kiss to the space between your cheek and ear and whispered another apology for your being upset.
“Hey, Moons?” Sirius called.
“Yeah?”
“Are you heading to the kitchen?” He called with the sort of smirk that caused you and James to exchange a suspicious look.
“Yeah.”
“Can you grab me a glass of water, please?”
“Fuckin’ hell Sirius get off your arse. And use a sodding coaster.” Remus bellowed from the bedroom.
“See? You’re the least of our problems.” James repeated, stamping another kiss to your cheek.

Hello!! ^^ Hope you don't mind me asking, could you write some headcannons for a bunny-like fem (or gn) reader?? Like alastor is a deer or somethin, and his s/o is like that but a bunny?
They have bunny ears, a tail, and have traits of them? Thank you if you consider my request, and have a nice day!!
Hehe! Two preys together now and yes, dearest. Alastor is a deer! A deer and his little bunny! I can just see Al teasing her/them about their bunny looks! Let’s try it out!
Alastor- Rabbitfoot
Tumblr media
Alastor is amused to see another prey sinner, but you’re even smaller and more helpless than what animal he has traits of. You’re a little bunny, a precious fluffy bunny with drooped down long bunny ears and fluffy cotton tail
Yes, Alastor does play with the fluff of your tail on purpose. Even with his own fingers or with the top curve of his microphone-cane. He’ll play with the soft bunny fur, just to mess with you and get a reaction
Alastor bites at your bunny ears, once again… just loving the way you yelp and bounce away from him. He knows you don’t mean you’re scared of him but it’s a instinct and it makes his day, just how adorable you are
Alastor is, of course, protective over his little bunny girl. Especially since you’re in the body of a prey twice over. He’s a predator in the fur of a prey so he can trick others into thinking he’s harmless whilst yourself. You’re right up harmless, even for a Sinner demon, so he has to make sure you’re safe
Alastor likes to make you make bunny noises so he can lay his cheek on your head and listen to it. He views your precious little noises as therapeutic, he enjoys listening to them. So, he’ll rub and scratch your chin until he can just relax and his tall fluffy deer-like ears flicking at the sound of your soft happy noises
Alastor may or may not make jokes and wave carrots around, beckoning his little bunny to come eat. You’ll join in to entertain your boyfriend but you don’t like him even pretending that you’re just a bunny. He finds you a truly beautiful woman but he also can’t bring himself to not view you as a cute bunny
Alastor loves your soft fur and enjoys hugging you, just to feel your fur. It’s so comforting and he actually likes the scent of your fur. You’re so sweet, he almost wants to devour you. Like you’re a chocolate bunny, but then again. He can’t act like he doesn’t smell like a deer and have deer fur
Alastor recognises your smell and follows it spring to find you anytime you happen to be lost or run off and he remembers quite a lot of little facts about you. What your shoes look like in dirt, what directions in Pentagram City you’d go in, what type of cafés and restaurants you check at when it’s time for good
Alastor calls you all kinds of cute bunny-based nicknames; ‘bun-bun’, ‘cottontail’, ‘flopsy’, ‘fluffy’, ‘moony’, anything based around a bunny, he’ll give you those cute adorable little pet names. Both lovey-dovey for you and teasing you. It’s harmless at the end of the day but he does enjoy calling you those names over his broadcasts
Alastor absolutely loves the random affectionate gestures you give to him; choosing to sit near him, climbing on his back or nibbling at his clothing, licking his hands or face. He chuckles everytime and he remembers every habit you have, so he can guess which one you’ll do to him the next hour
“Awww~ aren’t you so precious, my little chocolate bun~? Come here, want to go out and explore Pentagram City again? We can go sit on the roofs of the buildings if you wish“

okay now actually byeeeeee
PAIRING Remus Lupin x reader
A/N hello!! I write for most people in the marauders era so not just the marauders. I have added you as 🫧 anon and as for Taylor Swift, I think she’s pretty cool! I wouldn’t consider myself a swiftie but I do listen to a few of her songs <3
WARNINGS absolutely nothing, just clingy Remus Lupin 🫶
Tumblr media
As the full moon becomes closer, Remus has noticeable changes in his personality, specifically in his affection towards you. He's always been somewhat reserved in his displays of affection, opting for subtle gestures like casually wrapping an arm around you in the common room or discreetly intertwining your fingers under the desk during class but when the full moon rolls around, his need for your presence skyrockets.
With each passing day leading up to the event, Remus' longing to be near you grows more intense, as if he's magnetically drawn to your side. It's as though he finds comfort in your closeness, seeking refuge from the emotions stirring within him.
Remus has been sitting at the black lake for over half an hour now, wishing you were here with him but knowing that you asked not to be bothered when studying. Currently, you were in the Gryffindor common room with Sirius as you help him study for your guys’ history of magic test. Sirius has never been that good at remembering things, and since it’s a written test, he begged for your help.
Remus wrestled with conflicting emotions as he imagined you and Sirius in the common room. The mere thought of Sirius' hands near you stirred unease within him, knowing that sometimes Sirius' affectionate nature crosses a line. Despite recognizing Sirius's need for your help with studying, Remus couldn't shake the discomfort gnawing at him. With a heavy sigh, he turned away from the serene view of the lake, his steps quickening as he retreated to the safety of Gryffindor Tower, his longing for you clouding his rationality.
As Remus entered the common room, he saw you and Sirius huddled over the history of magic book, your heads close together in concentration. A pang of jealousy surged through him at the sight of Sirius's hand resting casually on your shoulder.
"Hey, mind if I join?" Remus asked, trying to keep his voice steady despite the emotions swirling inside him.
Sirius glanced up, a grin playing on his lips. "course."
Remus settled onto the couch beside you, his hand finding its way to your thigh, his touch gentle yet possessive. He felt a surge of satisfaction as you leaned into his touch, your focus momentarily faltering from the history of magic book.
But Sirius couldn't resist the opportunity to stir the pot. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he reached over and plucked the quill from your hand, his grin widening as he held it just out of your reach.
"Oi, Sirius, give that back," you protested, a playful edge to your tone as you reached for the quill.
Remus's jaw tightened, his possessive instincts kicking into overdrive at the sight of Sirius teasing you. He shot Sirius a warning glare, but his friend only chuckled, the quill still dangling tantalizingly between his fingers.
"Come on, Moony, lighten up," Sirius said, his tone teasing as he waggled the quill in front of you.
But Remus had reached his limit. With a growl of frustration, he snatched the quill from Sirius's hand, his grip tight as he shot his friend a glare that could curdle milk.
"Jesus Christ, Sirius" Remus said (basically yelled). "She’s my girlfriend so please stop flirting with her."
Sirius raised an eyebrow, taken aback by the intensity in Remus's voice. For a moment, there was a tense silence between them, the weight of Remus's unspoken emotions hanging heavy in the air.
Finally, Sirius sighed, rolling his eyes in mock exasperation. "Sorry, Moony. I wasn’t flirting with her though. Just playing but I can take a hint. Just don't forget about our study session tomorrow, yeah?" He said, directing the last part at you.
And with that, Sirius made a show of gathering his things, his departure accompanied by an obnoxious huff and a theatrical eye roll. Remus watched him go, shouting out a meek “sorry” as he was walking out.
When the door swung shut behind Sirius, you turned to Remus, concern etched on your face. "Are you okay?" you asked, reaching out to gently touch his arm. Without a word, Remus leaned forward, his lips brushing against the crook of your neck in a tender kiss. "I'm fine," he murmured, his voice slightly muffled against your skin. "Just... feeling a bit... jealous, I suppose."
You couldn't help but chuckle softly, teasing him gently. "You, Remus Lupin, are jealous?" you teased, a mischievous glint in your eyes.
A playful smile tugged at his lips as he leaned back, a glint of mischief dancing in his eyes. "Oh, shut up," he replied, his fingers twitching as if considering a playful retaliation.
Before you could react, Remus suddenly lunged forward, his fingers finding your sides and tickling mercilessly. Laughter bubbled from you, mixing with his own chuckles as you squirmed beneath his touch, trying to fend off his playful assault.
"Okay, okay, I surrender!" you gasped between laughs, breathless from both the tickling and the infectious joy in the room.
With a triumphant grin, Remus relented, letting you catch your breath as he leaned in to share a sweet kiss, a silent promise of his affection and devotion.
As the tension melted away, you wrapped your arms around each other, sinking into the comfort of the couch cushions and the warmth of the crackling fire. “Apologise to Sirius when you see him again though.” You mutter.
Remus pressed a kiss against your forehead, “I will, don’t worry.”

I saw your post about poly marauders x reader inspo. What about angst and fluff where the reader is working really hard and doesn't take care of herself? She ends up fainting, hitting her head and having a seizure. (This is common for me.) The boys freak out and rush her to the infirmary. Maybe they take her back after she's given the all-clear and take care of her.

Working Hard // Poly!Marauders x Fem!Reader
A/N: hello, thank you so much for this request! I hope I've been able to write the information about seizures ok, I personally don't have them so was worried I'd get the information wrong but hopefully, this is alright!

The library was fairly vacant of students as it approached the evening time, not that you’d noticed. At one swift glance, anyone could have seen the state of disarray that you were in. Ink stained your fingers and clothes, the whites of your eyes were bloodshot and dry from the lack of blinking, sweat on your brow and hair unkept from the number of times you’d brushed it out of your eyes.
Not to mention the disorganised surroundings you were sitting in with multiple stacks of books covering the desk space with different length parchment paper, ink pots and a single quill also messing up the area.
“How long has she been like this?”, Sirius asked Lily, concern etching deep into his face as he’d just arrived at the library following his day of lessons. Lily briefly looked up at Sirius with the same look of worry on her face from where she sat at a different desk, having been there most of the day just to keep an eye on you as she knew you were slowly spiralling into madness.
“She’s been like this since this morning. I’ve tried to convince her to have a break but she just wants to finish the work. I’m kind of getting worried about her, she hasn’t stopped in hours and keeps pushing my glasses of water away saying she’ll have it later but she’s yet to have any”, Lily explained to Sirius who was now clenching the strap of his school bag so tightly in his hands that his knuckles turned a ghastly shade of white.
“Thanks, Evans, I’ll stay with her don’t worry”, Sirius explained, patting his friend on the shoulder as she stood, having packed her bags ages ago but was reluctant to leave you on your own. “If you see Moony or Prongs, could you tell them where we are please?”
“No worries, I hope you can get through to her”.
Sirius sighed, shaking his head hard enough that his shoulder-length, silky hair flew in all directions as he walked over to your desk. You didn’t so much as flinch when the chair next to you scrapped along the stone floor as he dumped his bag onto the floor.
As he began to talk to you, he kept his voice calm, not wanting to frighten you out of the deep focus you were in. “Darling? Is everything alright?” When you again didn’t respond to having heard his arrival, he reached across and took the quill out of your fierce grip. This snapped you out of your trance as your head whipped in his direction, body jumping in a startle at finding one of your boyfriends casually sitting next to you. Your heart was already racing before the jump scare are you looked between Sirius and the quill you so desperately needed.
“What are you doing? I’m not finished my work yet Sirius and I am not in the mood to mess around, I just want to get it finished”, you demanded to him, reaching out with a trembling hand that had Sirius’ worries increasing.
“What was the last time that you even ate anything? Or had a drink of water?” Sirius asked whilst continuing to hold your quill out of your reach.
Shaking your head in annoyance, you shrugged your shoulders, “I don’t know, a couple of hours ago maybe, I can remember. Now please, can I have my quill back!”
Sirius looked at the mess on the desk surrounding you, “Honey, this assignment isn’t even due for another week. You’ve got plenty of time to finish it another day but you need to look after yourself. Let’s have a little break, maybe go and get something to eat and drink and then depending on how you’re feeling, we could potentially finish this later”.
The marauder spoke calmly and slowly, taking in all the signs of your declining health. There were only a few occasions where you had been like this, neglecting to look after yourself and it usually ended with you crying from exhaustion or sleeping a whole day away feeling ill so he needed to be a good protector and make sure this didn’t get any worse but he feared that it was already at that stage anyway with how reluctant you were to listen to his advice.
“No, you aren’t listening to me! I don’t need any of that right now, I just need to finish this today because there’s still the potions assignment due in two days and I need to plot this week's stars for astronomy. There’s also the herbology that I haven’t even started yet so I don’t have time to go for your breaks! Just give it back to me Sirius!” As you were beginning to raise your voice, you caught the attention of the handful of other students who were studying. Sirius didn’t react to being shouted at, especially as it was never something you’d done before, he knew he was getting to the point of no return and was unsure just what it was that he was supposed to do. Let you carry on? Force feed you a snack and make you have a break but then would that anger you more?
Thankfully backup had arrived in the form of Remus and James. “What’s going on here?” the taller Marauder asked, his scarred face flicking back and forth between Sirius and where you were glaring at him.
“We were just about to have a little break”, Sirius began to explain with caution but you were quick to interrupt.
“No we aren’t Sirius! I’m fine, just let me continue other I’ll forget what I’m going to write!”. You were breathing heavily now, like you’d just run up a flight of stairs and Sirius couldn’t tell if it was because of your anger or just another symptom of how worn down you were getting.
It looked like you were close to a panic attack with the way you were reacting irrationally and the two Marauders that were standing took a protective step forward, placing their bags onto the floor.
“My Love”, James spoke carefully, “just take a deep breath for us, okay? We’ll just have a small break and then we’ll help you finish this assignment”.
Your hateful gaze turned to him, “I don’t need help James”.
The way you spoke didn’t falter him in any way as he continued, “Why don’t we just quickly get a drink of water and some fresh air and then we can come back-”
“Don’t talk to me like a child James, I know my limits. I’m just studying, I’m fine, I just need to finish this, but you’re all prolonging it!” You glared at all three of them, not thinking clearly at all and when Sirius once again held the quill away from you, you snapped. “You know what? Fine. Keep the quill. I’ve got plenty more in my dormitory which luckily doesn’t let guys in so I can continue this in some peace and quiet.”
You gathered as many books as possible into a messy pile, bundling them into your arms, along with your parchment paper.
“Wait, Sweetheart, just give us a moment-”. Sirius began reaching forward as you stood abruptly.
One minute you were taking a step forward and then next, it felt like the floor was moving, your eyes unfocused as the books dropped to the floor, swiftly followed by your body as you fainted, accidentally knocking your temple on the corner of your desk as you fell.
Remus, James and Sirius all lurched forward trying to soften your fall but to no avail, as they all watched you hit your head and collapse to the floor However the panic didn’t end there as your body began to convulse, eyes rolling back in your head as you didn’t respond to shouts.
“Shit! Go and get Madam Pomfrey!”, James demanded to Sirius who was out of his chair and sprinting within a second as a crowd began to form of scared students. This didn’t stop James though as he remained calm, kneeling next to your head but holding out a hand for Remus, “Hand me your jumper”. Remus pulled the clothing over his head and handed it to his boyfriend who balled it up and gently placed it under your head. “It’s ok baby, it’s going to be ok, it’ll be over soon, you’re safe, everything with be alright”.
With each word that he spoke, he remained calm, even managing to loosen your tie so that it didn’t restrict your breathing as you eventually calmed with your convulsions and remained unmoving on the floor, breathing heavily.
“Remus, help me roll her onto her side”, he asked the man who was also on his knees next to you, looking paler than usual. He followed James’ movements until you were lying in the recovery position, your hair carefully being moved out of your face so that they could assess your head injury as well. Thankfully there was no cut or blood but the area had already begun to swell into a small bump.
Remus shook his head, trying to process anything that had just happened as he then gazed towards James. “How…how did you know what to do?”
“My mum had seizures, usually she takes some potions to stop them from happening but on rare occasions they still do so she and Dad have taught me what to do if they were to happen, It’s not like I’ve done much anyway”. James looked you over, as Remus shook his head in disbelief, feeling guilty that he hadn’t come and found you at an earlier time but just assumed you were doing your usual revision in the library.
Sirius soon arrived with Madam Pomfrey who did her own assessment and praised James for the bits of care that he provided like putting you into the recovery position. You were then moved to the Hospital wing where you remained asleep for the next 12 hours which is what you needed, lots of rest and sleep.
When you did eventually awake, the sun was just beginning to rise over the mountains and you were disorientated and confused, being in an unknown area and alone, not remembering how or why you’d gotten there.
Thankfully the Matron was already working and hovering nearby so was able to come over and explain the events that had occurred whilst making sure you drank the numerous healing potions she’d decided you needed. With each glug of the horrible tasting, colourful concoctions, you could feel life beginning to pour back into your body, no longer feeling dehydrated or shaky, however, there was still some memory loss but she explained that was the side effect of the seizure. Your stomach twisted with guilt at not prioritising your health which was also the same sentiment expressed by Madam Pomfrey as she gave you a talking too as well about looking after yourself and making sure to take regular breaks, having food and drink nearby during long study sessions.
Finally, after she declared that you were safe to leave but only if you returned to the dormitory to rest for the next few days, she explained that James, Sirius and Remus had been by your side until late at night. Each of them outright refused to leave your side but as they all fell into their own emotional and physical exhaustion, Madam Pomfrey called for McGonagall who helped to send them to their beds.
The guilt now only increased tenfold at the thought of how worried they must have been. The Matron tried to encourage you to not worry about those emotions for now, but to go and rest and that you’d need to return every morning for additional potions and investigations for the seizure.
Every step towards the Gryffindor common room, nerves bubbled in your stomach, wondering if you should follow the woman's advice and just go to your own dormitory and sleep the day away or knock on the Marauders’ room and discuss what had happened.
Thankfully for your exhausted mind, you didn’t need to decide as soon as you entered the homely common room, the three of them were already rushing down the stairs, dressed in their casual clothes and looking like they were about to run somewhere. They were all startled to see you standing there, relief and worry expressed on each of their faces, along with dark circles under their eyes from the lack of sleep.
Hating the uncomfortable silence, you nervously twisted your fingers together, glancing at the floor, unable to hold their burning eye contact anymore. “Madam Pomfrey said I was okay to leave but said I needed to get some rest”.
Another wave of relief rushed through your boyfriends as they each visibly dropped the tension from their shoulders as they stepped forward. “How are you feeling?”, Remus asked carefully, not being able to watch your nervous twitches anymore as he grabbed your fingers and linked both of your hands with his.
“I feel fine”, you answered honestly, looking guilty up at them still through your lashes.
“What about your head?”, Sirius continued the question, standing to your left and stroking the strand of hair away from the area that he’d seen hit the corner of your desk.
“It doesn’t hurt at all but Pomfrey said those sorts of injuries are easy for her to fix anyway. I um, I don’t actually remember what happened, or even from the last few days but everything else is better, my head doesn’t hurt at all”.
James was the last to approach to your right and you were thankful to see a loving smile on his handsome face as he pushed the rim of his glasses up his nose whilst asking, “And what about the seizures?”
“She said they could happen again but it was mostly triggered because I hadn’t eaten, drank or slept properly and that I needed to be careful in the future. I think it’s something that I had dealt with in my childhood as I remember my mum saying that I used to have some sort of seizures but it’s been so long that I didn’t think it was an issue anymore. She also told me about what you did James and I just… I can’t thank you enough and I’m so so sorry for putting you all through this”. Your eyes were full of tears that quickly escaped and flowed down your cheeks.
James couldn’t watch you cry and rushed to wrap his arms around your body, cupping the back of your head to hold you against his warm, firm chest. Remus and Sirius also managed to join the cuddle. The three of them didn’t expect any sort of apology from you, the anger that had been there initially for you not looking after yourself had swiftly changed to worry and fear so just making sure you were okay was their only goal.
“Shh Sweetheart, please don’t cry. We’re just glad you’re safe. You scared us so much, all I could think about last night was having you in my arms again”, Remus calmed your cries down as he kissed your shoulder, trying not to unload too much of his worries onto you.
The three of them held you for long enough that other students began to wake and enter the common room, rushing past so as to not ruin the sentimental moment. As your sobs turned into hiccups and the tears stopped staining Sirius’ shirt, the long-haired Marauder pulled away to cup your cheeks. “Come on, it’ll do us all no good crying in the middle of the common room and you’re supposed to be resting and to be honest I think we could all do with a rest so let's go upstairs”.
Wiping your nose with your sleeve, you smiled and accepted his outstretched hand, his much larger palm engulfing yours as he gently tugged you along to the boys’ room. The sight of the magically enlarged bed only increased your exhaustion as your body seemed to slump with the need to crawl beneath the sheets.
Before you could do as you wished whilst still wearing your day clothes, James stepped behind, his arms around your waist and held you for a second, swaying slightly on the spot as he dipped to kiss your cheek. “Do you want my jumper? Might be more comfortable than what you’re wearing?” he asked with hope in his voice and you knew he always loved seeing you in his clothes.
Turning in his arms and stroking your fingers through his hair to brush it out of his face you nodded tiredly, “Yes please!”
James grinned, pecking your lips before swiftly pulling his jumper off and then helping you to underdress down to your underwear and helping you into his jumper. Remus and Sirius were already down to their boxers and in bed, Sirius in the centre with his arms open and you smiled in relief, crawling over his body and settling on top of his chest. Everything seemed to fall into place as James followed behind you and lay next to Sirius, all three of their arms wrapping around you like a weighted blanket and a breath later all four of you were asleep.
When you woke next, it was because something was tickling your nose. Squinting open your eyes, you were welcomed to the sight of Sirius’ silky hair completely covering your face and his warm breath only an inch away from yours. Laughing under your breath, being careful not to wake the Marauder, you brushed the strands out of yours and his face, tucking it behind his ear.
As your fingers settled back cuddled into your chest, Sirius’ eyebrows furrowed followed by him groaning and bringing your fingers back up to his hair. You giggled louder now as you began to play with his hair and scratch your nails against his scalp, loving the sweet smile on his pretty-boy face.
“You know Pads, asking her to pet you, isn’t what I’m sure Madam Pomfrey classed as resting”, James mused from across the room, no longer by your side. Peaking open your eyes once more, you lifted your head as Sirius flipped off James who was sitting across the room, playing with his gold snitch with a pile of food waiting beside him.
“Is that pancakes?” you asked hopefully, sitting up further by pushing off of Sirius’ chest. Remus who was also still resting on the bed perked up at his, opening one eye and rolling over, his hair sticking up in all directions nearly as dramatically as James’ as he looked for the food.
“It is indeed, and there’s also toast, sausages, eggs, bacon, fruit, anything you might need”.
The four of you repositioned on the bed, leaving space in the middle to carefully lay the trays of food that James had managed to steal from the kitchens and all ate until stomachs were full and happy.
“What time is it?”, Sirius asked, still trying to wipe the sleep out of his eyes.
“Just after lunch, so we’ve only slept for a few hours but seeing as we missed breakfast I thought it might be a good idea to get some food into our systems”.
“Thanks, Prongs”, Remus said before taking another bite of his toast and looking in your direction. “How are you feeling after a bit more sleep?”
“Good, like nothing even happened, I feel like I’m back to normal”. Remus nodded at your words, giving you a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes, causing you to sigh and place your fork back onto your plate that was balanced on your nap. “I know we need to discuss what has happened and I’d rather do it now instead of waiting”.
The three Marauders looked at each other, unsure of how to approach the subject before James took one for the team and spoke first. “So you said you don’t remember anything, is that still the case?”
“The last thing I remember is going to Potions on Monday afternoon which was apparently a few days ago, I don't remember anything up until waking up in the hospital wing”.
“Do you understand what’s happened though? And how serious it was?”, James continued, his usual light and laughter not present in his eyes and you had to look at your fingers holding onto your plate as you felt the intensity of his emotions.
“Yes, Madam Pomfrey explained everything and why I had the seizure. I know I hadn’t looked after myself that day, but sometimes I feel like I’m drowning in my assignments for classes and if I don’t do them as soon as they are given to me, I’ll run out of time to complete them and then I’ll fail and then they’ll kick me out of the school and-”.
A scarred, rough hand pulled the plate from your grip so that he could gently hold both of your hands, tipping your chin back so that you were looking up at him as Remus came through with his words of wisdom. “You know that’s just your anxiety talking, there’s no way they would ever kick a talented witch like you from Hogwarts. You’re nearly top of all classes, always help others with their work and get good grades on your own. But you really need to look after yourself. To even get to the point of fainting is so dangerous Sweetheart, imagine if we weren’t there when this all happened?”
It was Sirius who began talking next, “We aren’t saying you need to completely change your ways but you fought us so hard in the library to even just have a little break. From now on, maybe we should put a bottle of water and some snacks in your bag and please, if you’re studying, just give yourself a rest every hour or so, even if it's to have a walk around the library to stretch your legs. Is that ok?”
The way he was speaking to you so softly and kindly had your heart melting and you hated how quickly tears were in your eyes again. You were so thankful for them, expecting them to be angry in some sort of way but once again proving how much you loved them and they loved you.
Unable to form any words, you nodded your response towards Sirius who smiled and opened his arms for you to crawl into again, his hands rubbing up and down your spine, soothing the emotions away.
James sighed away his own anxieties, moving over to kiss the back of your head before clearing away the food, waving his wand and everything disappearing back to the kitchens. “Right, a day of relaxation coming your way my love”, he began, trying to cheer the atmosphere and already causing you to laugh through the tears. “We will be having regular naps throughout the day, and plenty of food that will be ready whenever we are, All I need to do is summon one of the house elves. We have books, Sirius record player, we could even venture down to the common room if we’re feeling adventurous. Oh! I also caught Lily on my way back from the kitchens and she gave me some fruity bubble bath that her muggle parents have sent her that’s supposed to be nice so a nice candlelight bath will be ready whenever you are Love”.
You were beaming at all three of them, “Thank you! For this and everything else you’ve ever done, thank you”.
James shifted closer so that he could peck your lips, slowly and with love. The action was repeated by Remus and Sirius as you all naturally linked together in a cocoon of warmth and safety as you all hugged each other.
“I love you”, you whispered against whichever one of their shoulders you were nuzzling into. The three of them promised their love back to you before deciding on the first plan of the day.

—————
You were sitting in the library studying with Remus after a long day of classes. You didn’t necessarily want to do more work, but you needed to be prepared for your next test. Besides, the subject wasn’t horrible and Remus made a great study partner. It was going well, too, until Remus snorted a laugh, looking over your shoulder.
“Incoming,” Remus said, smiling down at his book.
“Hi, darling,” James said quietly in your ear, his arms wrapping around your shoulders.
You laugh lightly, leaning your head back against him as he kissed your cheek a few times in a row. You made eye contact with Remus as he raised a brow at you and James, still finding it funny how overly-affectionate James was with you, even after more than a year of dating. You sighed softly.
“Hi, Jamie. What are you up to?”
You felt him shrug behind you. “Just wanted to say hello to my love. Moony told me you had a study date today, and I just came to interrupt so you didn’t bore yourself to death.”
“You know, I actually don’t mind advanced arithmancy,” you point out.
“Boooring,” he sang out, kissing your cheek again.
“Prongs, I’m gonna get sick if I have to watch you keep kissing,” Remus laughed, looking up from his book.
“You’re just jealous I have somebody to love and cuddle.”
“Right,” Remus snorted, not paying James any mind.
“I brought you something,” James whispered in your ear.
“Yeah?” you respond, interested.
“Mhm. Close your eyes.”
You follow his command, feeling him tear himself away from you long enough to pull a chair up to your side, his leg brushing yours as he sat next to you. You felt him grab your hand, pulling it towards him and dropping a little something in it.
“Can I open now?”
“Yeah,” he said, and you could hear the smile in his voice before you heard it.
You opened your eyes, smiling when you saw a new quill and a chocolate frog. You looked up at him questioningly, and he smiled back at you, looking utterly love struck.
“Thought you could use the chocolate as fuel to keep your spirits up, and the quill to make sure you were comfortable writing for so long.”
“Aww. Thank you, angel,” you cooed softly, leaning forward to kiss his lips.
He smiled into the kiss, proud to have made you happy. You only broke apart once Remus sighed loudly. You looked at him with a small smile still on your lips.
“Come on, Moony. It’s not so bad.”
“It is when I’ve been watching it for a year straight.”
“Year and three months,” James corrected him quickly.
Remus didn’t look amused at his friend. He rolled his eyes, though he smiled a little despite himself.
“Alright, wrap it up,” Remus said, wanting to get back to studying.
“I always do,” James retorted quickly.
You smacked his chest lightly, laughing. Remus scoffed a laugh, making a bit of a sour face at that unwanted mental image.
“Don’t be gross,” you chided your boyfriend.
He merely shrugged, kissing your cheek again before he stood up.
“I’ll see you at dinner, my love,” he said to you with another little grin. “I’ll miss you.”
“I know you will,” you smiled back.

your ask has been in the mailbox for a long time, but I just now found the strength to finish your drawing.. Sorry, Moonie,,, <:3
Tumblr media
Actually, I really like the way Caine turned out. Mostly because I couldn't really draw him, but the fact that he has a cute striped vest also plays a role :"D
Were most of the drawings created around the end of March?? The style is incredibly unstable, because some were painted later- MUCH later(last night)
but at least I was able to finish this thing!! Hurray! ^^,,

@jegulus-microfic | feb 7 star | words: 1037
Hi so I went a bit overboard with this one but I’m having so much fun writing those you guys have no idea
Anyways enjoy <3
GUYS IT HAS PART 2 NOW WTFFF
James
pads i need you to come here like RIGHT NOW
Pads
???
Who are you?
James looked at the message confused.
James
your best friend?? who needs your help with your dog?????
Pads
Wrong number.
Now he was super confused. He talked with Sirius this morning. He called this number and he talked with Sirius.
James
this is really not the time for pranks pads
moony isnt answering his phone and gigi is vomiting all over my place
what do i do???????
The answer didn’t come right away, but when it did his confusion grew even further. He was trying to give the poor Gigi a bowl to puke into when he read ‘I might know what happened. Send me the address, I’m coming over.’ Without thinking twice he shared his location with the person who was supposed be his best mate. After that, he put down his phone and went back to calming Gigi and giving her some water. If it works for people, it should work for a dog, right? RIGHT???
15 minutes later he heard the doorbell ring and that’s when it hit him. Sirius knows where he lives. Sirius wouldn’t take this long to get to his precious child, as he calls the black mass of fur on James’ carpet. This really wasn’t Sirius.
His first reaction was panic - who the fuck did he send his address to? Then he thought he could pretend he’s not here. But what about Gigi?
When the doorbell rang for the second time, he decided to text that person.
James
who are you again?
Pads
Open the door. I’m not going to kill you.
Or am I?
Now he was scared. Although it was a bit funny, he had to give them that.
Slowly he went to the door, checking in the viewfinder who is on the other side. Unfortunately the person had their back turned to him so it didn’t give him anything. With shaky hands he turned the key and opened the doors with a gentle creak. Hearing that, the person in front of him turned and- wow.
The snow-white face was surrounded by a delicate halo of black waves. His strong jaw and sharp cheekbones could make him look rough if it weren't for his soft, pink lips, turned up in a gentle smile, and his eyes. Eyes in which you could immerse yourself as if in an endless, silvery cloud of stardust.
“Hi there, Sunshine” Sirius’ younger brother said passive-aggressively. Ah, nothing has changed since school. Also, it would explain the ‘wrong number’’ thing. Somehow?
“Hello, Little Star” James replied with a nervous smile, after clearing his throat several times. They stayed there in the doorway for few seconds, intense enough to make it feel like hours.
Finally, James cleared his throat for the last time and turned, letting Regulus in. “Thank god you’re not a murderer” he laughed lightly as he led his guest (his one-man-rescue-team?) to the living room, where Gigi was shaking under fluffy blanket.
“Did you give her something?” Regulus asked, kneeling next to the poor thing.
“What? No! Why and what would I give her?” James burst out, terrified of the accusation. What if he accidentally gave her something he shouldn’t have and now she’s going to die? That would mean he was going to die shortly after. Oh no, oh no, oh-
“Calm down, I was just making sure. Look at your carpet” Reg grumbled pointing at the destroyed thing.
“Yeah, I know - she puked at it like a thousand times. No need to point it out” James huffed, now irritated a bit by Regulus’ rudeness.
“I- That’s not what I meant” shorter man laughed softly, such a sweet sound. “She ate a pice of it, look at the right corner.”
“What do you- oh” in the whole mess oh vomits he didn’t even notice a part of the carpet disappeared. “So she was just-“
“Clearing her stomach, yeah” Reg smiled at him crookedly. “She did the same to my shoe last week. Just give her some water for now and we’ll take her to the vet.”
“What do you mean we? I can handle a vet appointment” James said, pouring some water for his goddaughter (yes, she’s his goddaughter, fuck off).
“No, you can’t. Now take her, I’ll drive” Regulus said strutting out of the room. James just lifted the, whatsoever, heavy dog and ran after his best friend’s brother.
He asked Reg to close the door behind them and take the key. The clinic wasn’t far away from his flat, but either way it felt like forever to get there since Regulus refused to talk to him, because ‘it distracts him’.
When they finally got there, the vet just laughed at them for coming to her for the second time in a week and cooed at Gigi, mumbling something about her ’cool uncles not being very good for her’ (hopefully jokingly but who knows). She checked if Gigi was alright, gave her some medicine and asked them to come in few days for checkup.
Walking out of the clinic Regulus asked James if he needed any help with cleaning up after Gigi’s accident.
“Actually yeah, would you help me?” he replied with hopeful eyes.
“I literally just suggested that” Reg said, rolling his eyes.
So, they did just that. They rolled the destroyed carpet, cleaned the floor and some of the mess left on the sofa Gigi was sleeping soundly in the corner of.
When they finished, Regulus went to the door, with James thanking him all the way down the hall. They stood in the doorway again, same intense silence between them as before.
Reg cleared his throat. “So, I’m gonna go now. Bye.”
James nodded slightly. “Thanks again” he said once more, getting a fond eye roll from the other man. With that Regulus turned and went to the elevator. Then…
“Hey, Reg?” He turned again, one brow raised. James gather himself, swallowed thickly and on the exhale, almost shy, he asked “Would you like to stay for dinner?”
The younger man stood there, both brows raised now. Slowly he smiled at James and nodded.
“I would love to, actually.”

Tumblr media
The flapping of wings on your window wakes you up from the brief slumber you had fallen into while reading. Wondering who is writing to you on a weekend, you unfasten the latch and immediately recognize the large eagle owl of Draco Malfoy, perched on your windowsill, a letter between his pointed beak. Carefully, you extract the letter from the owl and gently stroke its head to which he lets out a happy chirp and then flies away.
Walking back into your living room as the late afternoon sun filters in your apartment, you carefully break the Malfoy family seal and pull out the folded letter from the luxurious golden envelope.
“Mr Draco Malfoy and Mrs Hermione Granger Malfoy request the pleasure of your company at their annual New Year's bash on New Year's eve with an evening of love, laughter, cocktails, good food, dancing and ringing in the brand new year with friends, old and new, by your side.”
Venue : Malfoy Mansion.
Date and Time : 31st December, 7pm.
After the Battle Of Hogwarts, you all had reached out to each other, mending frayed bonds, strengthening old friendships and forming new ones. Not only this gave you all the idea to celebrate holidays together but also brought Draco and Hermione closer, which eventually blossomed into love and two years back, Draco had proposed to her in France while on their vacation, the love birds had gotten married a month later and they've blissfully happy, married and in love ever since. You haven't been able to attend any of their parties despite receiving invitations for Christmas and New Year's every year since you are celebrating with your family, but with your parents on a vacation to Miami this year (which is your gift to them on their wedding anniversary) you'll finally be able to.
As much as the prospect of seeing your friends again after so long has your heart soaring, it also drops when you realize that he will be there, the one who has had your heart since your fourth year at Hogwarts and never gave it back, Theodore Nott.
All these years you had tried to convince yourself that your feelings for Theo was just a sweet little crush that you never got over but Hermione would say otherwise, you can almost hear your best friend saying, “It's not a crush when you're looking at him with those moony eyes like he's your entire world! And not to mention, you smelled him when we brewed up amortentia, the most powerful love potion to ever exist! It's love, you're in love with Theo.” And you know she's right.
That day in Professor Slughorn's class when you and Hermione brewed up amortentia for the class assignment, the potion was absolute perfection with its distinctive mother of pearl sheen and steam rising from it in characteristic spirals, the professor had awarded 20 points to Gryffindor but you weren't expecting your best friend to smell Draco's scent ~ sandalwood, amber with hints of bergamot along with freshly mowed grass, new parchment and spearmint toothpaste.
The spiral curls of steam waft over you and you smell dark chocolate, coffee, petrichor and musk, violets with hints of citrus ~ Theodore's scent. Heart hammering in your chest, you look at the slytherin boy who's working on his potion across the classroom while his girlfriend, Pansy Parkinson has herself wrapped around him, barely paying attention to the class. As if sensing your gaze on him, Theo looks up and your eyes lock with his hazel eyes as the world around you falls silent, the only sound being the thud of your heart in your ears but then he looks back to the brewing concoction that is almost ready and is an absolute perfection like yours and Hermione's, Professor Slughorn awards 20 points to Slytherin, very impressed by his sharp wit and potion making skills.
You are in a changing room of one of the clothing stores in Diagon Alley, trying on outfits in hopes of finding that perfect dress for the New Year's bash. You'll be attending the celebration for the very first time, might as well leave everyone gobsmacked.
“So, what if this bloke shows up with his girlfriend at the party? You know the mean one who was with him back then?” Lenore, your friend and colleague from St Mungo's where you both work as healers says as she flicks her wand to send the next dress inside, it lands right in your hands and you sigh as you start changing into it, sending the previous dress out to your friend with a flick of your wand.
“You really think they'll still be together?” You ask, your mind drifting back to Pansy Parkinson.
“Who knows? A lot has happened since then.” Lenore replies.
Everyone knew about your crush on Theodore, yes, it was and still is that obvious, including her which is why she didn't let go of a single opportunity to show him off, she was practically glued to his side, holding hands, snogging in the hallways, all the while her eyes would be on you, shining with malice, daring you to make a move on her boyfriend and she'll make your life at Hogwarts a living hell. Which is why you've always maintained a safe distance from Theodore, no matter how much your heart yearned for him and your mind made up soft romantic scenarios while you lay in your bed in your dorm room at night.
Like that one time when you, Hermione and Parvati were on your way to Professor McGonagall's transfiguration class, discussing about the homework she had given in her last class when you see Theo and Pansy talking in the corridor, her back against the wall while he stands facing her. Theo's eyes meet yours again and your breath catches as everything around you is plunged into oblivion and your heart feels as if it would beat out of your chest.
Livid with jealousy and anger, Pansy who very clearly witnessed it all, pulls Theo in for a kiss by the front of his robes and smiles mockingly at you as you walk past them, averting your gaze.
“Ugh. What does he even see in her?” Hermione speaks in utter annoyance.
“Maybe she's a good snogger.” Parvati replies then giggles when she sees the faces you and Hermione make, “But have you seen the way he looks at you?” She asks as the three of you reach the transfiguration classroom.
“What are you talking about? It was just a glance, nothing more.”
“No it wasn't, earlier this week I saw him looking at you during Defence Against Dark Arts and the day before yesterday, during Quidditch practice when you were talking to Harry.”
“Parvati..” You sigh.
“I swear he was!” Parvati says as she sits down beside Ginny, Hermione goes to take a seat with Harry and Ron and you make your way to an empty seat in the middle. The seats are filling up fast as it will be a joint transfiguration class for Gryffindor and Slytherin. You are taking out your books from your bag when Theo enters, his eyes looking for an available seat and finding one right next to you, he starts walking towards you.
Your heart starts beating a mile per minute as butterflies take flight in your stomach, you know what you have to do. Steeling yourself, you pack your things back in your book bag and stand up to look for another vacant seat, there's one next to Neville and he being the sweetest soul, immediately offers it to you.
Your eyes briefly meet Theo’s again and it seems like he wants to say something, his hand almost reaching out to stop you but decides against it when he notices the unshed tears in your eyes and you walk away from him.
I don't wanna tiptoe, but I don't wanna hide.
But I don't wanna feed this monstrous fire.
You thank Neville as you take a seat next to him, Pansy makes a beeline for the seat next to Theo just as Professor McGonagall walks in.
“Hey, you're okay?” Neville asks gently as everyone submits their homework and you nod with a smile even though you aren't, even though your heart is breaking into a million little pieces inside.
When the class ends, Pansy holding his hand, pulls him along with her. Theo looks back, his hazel eyes lingering on you as you begin packing your bag but you aren't oblivious to his gaze.
Just wanna let this story die,
And I'll be alright..
So, you endure the heartache and force your feelings for Theo to take a backseat, diving headfirst into studies and Quidditch until all of your lives were changed forever and were never the same again.
You snap back into the present when you hear Lenore gasp and run off to somewhere in the store, she returns a few seconds later, sending a dress your way.
“I just saw this on the rack and it was calling out to me, the dress has your name written all over it, try it on!”
When you turn to observe yourself in the mirror after putting on the dress, you make a mental note to thank Lenore for picking out the perfect one by treating her to lunch after this. The dress is long, in black silk with a sexy thigh high slit and long ruffle sleeves, the dress beautifully accentuates your curves and you just have the perfect jewelry and matching stilettos to pair it with.
You walk out of the changing room like you are walking on the runway and then strike a pose with a cute hair flip while Lenore claps in pure delight.
“Oh Merlin! That dress looks absolutely gorgeous on you, darling! Theo won't be able to keep his eyes off you.”
You slowly shook your head, “He might be attending with Pansy, the girl he was with back then or with his girlfriend, or his fiancee, or his wife ~ you are right, it's been years and a lot has happened since then, so I'm not getting my hopes up. I just want to have a great night with my friends and ring in the new year with them.”
If only you knew your life won't ever be the same after that night.
The moment you walked in, you were swept in by your friends, some of whom you haven't seen in the last few years, like the Patil Twins, Parvati and Padma, Ginny Weasly, Neville Longbottom and you even spot The Boy Who Lived with the love of his life Luna Lovegood, both of them wave at you from the other side of the room and you wave back, hugs are exchanged amidst tears of joy as each one of you holds the other a little tighter.
Hermione greets you with a tight, warm hug, both of your eyes glistening with tears as you hold onto each other a little longer while Draco watches his wife with a soft, lovestruck smile on his face and then greets you with a hug too.
“It's so good to see you! I've missed you so much, I know we've been exchanging letters but it just doesn't feel the same.” Hermione speaks, clasping your hands in hers, gently.
“I know, I've missed you all so much too! I'm glad we all reached out to each other after the battle, a lot has changed over the past few years but our friendships haven't.” You reply, smiling, holding onto your best friend's hands.
“I agree, I wouldn't have realized my feelings for Hermione otherwise.” Draco adds, looking at his wife with so much love and adoration that your heart melts into a puddle.
“That's true, but I think we were meant to be darling.” Hermione looks at him, smiling and you realize that she too looks at him the way he looks at her, her brown eyes full of love and adoration.
“We are, my love.”
They share a soft kiss and you politely look away, your friends found happiness, love and togetherness with each other and you couldn't be more happy for them.
“By the way, Theo is here.” Hermione says and at the mention of his name, your heart starts picking up its pace. “If you want to talk to him, it's the perfect opportunity.”
“Mione, it's been years. I'm so over him.” You try but to no avail, your best friend can see right through you.
“Uh huh, sure. You've fancied him for how long now?”
“Since our fourth year at Hogwarts.”
“And how many serious relationships have you been in until then?”
“Um, none.”
“I thought so. There's years worth of kindling underneath that fire you've both got burning for each other.”
“Hold on, hold on, both?”
Draco and Hermione look at each other wide eyed as if they've revealed a secret that wasn't theirs before Draco keeps a gentle, friendly hand on your shoulder.
“It's not our place to tell, but you should talk to Theo.” He says, smiling warmly and Hermione engulfs you in another hug before the couple moves to greet the rest of their guests.
Before you can think about anything else, Parvati pulls you onto the dance floor where Luna, Ginny, Padma join in. You sing, dance and laugh with your friends, happiness and nostalgia of your Hogwarts days of attending balls, competitions and parties washes over you, making you realize how much you've missed this, your friends, your school.
The squeals you all let out collectively when Luna holds up her hand with the beautiful diamond on her ring finger.
All that dancing and singing has left you parched so you navigate your way to the bar while the rest of your friends make themselves comfortable on the loungers.
You place your order at the bar and take a seat, on the dance floor, Neville Longbottom and Hannah Abbott slow dance in each other's arms as the music changes, their faces touching, their lips inches apart as Neville bridges the distance and they share a soft kiss. You smile and turn your attention back to the bar, wondering when they start dating but you are happy for them.
Someone else claims the open spot next to you, the whiff of their perfume has your heart rattling in your chest. Musk, violets with hints of citrus, it's as if you're back in that potions classroom, all those years ago brewing Amortentia and across the classroom, your eyes meet– is it really him? Theodore? Hermione and Draco did say that he's here tonight.
Just like all those years back, the whole world plummets into silence as your eyes meet Theodore's, it's just him and you now. The beautiful hues from the fairy lights illuminate his handsome features, his gorgeous hazel eyes reminding you of a clear autumn sky, like pools of liquid gold, green and brown, his dark brown hair falls in soft waves across his forehead and you wonder what it would be like to run your fingers through them, you wonder what it would be like to feel his soft, kissable lips against yours.
“Hey..” Theo smiles.
“Hey..” You smile too.
“How are you? It's been forever since we last saw each other.” He asks, stepping closer to you and thanks the barman as the latter places his drink on the table.
“I'm good, how are you? Yeah, it has been.” You reply as the proximity between you and Theo makes your heart race.
“I'm good too and I'm so glad you're here tonight. All of us have been celebrating the holidays with Draco and Hermione and each other but we've all been missing you. I join in the celebrations every year hoping I'll run into you..”
He joins in the celebrations hoping he'll run into you? Wait.. is he saying that he's been waiting to meet you all these years? What about Pansy? Is she not here with him? She was practically super glued to him all the time. Guess he isn't here with someone tonight otherwise they would've been here by his side and Hermione didn't mention him bringing a date either.
You are quiet as thoughts race around in your head and Theo, understanding your silence, speaks further, “Should we head outside to get some fresh air?”
“Sure, fresh air sounds good.” You smile and thank the barman who places your drink on the counter, picking up your drinks, you both make your way outside. Hermione winks, catching your eye and you roll your eyes, smiling.
The party rages on inside and while you immensely enjoyed catching up with your friends and having the time of your life, it feels nice to take a break as you both walked into the gardens of the manor, the sweet scent of roses perfuming the air, the sky is a mesmerizing shade of inky blue and the cold crisp air makes you shiver, you should've brought your coat along. Theo being the gentleman that he is, unbuttons his coat right away and wraps it around your shoulders, you thank him, grateful for the warmth and slip your arms through it. His scent envelops you like a hug and you pull the coat tighter against yourself for the cold and for the fact that you want to drown in his scent.
You and Theodore sit down on a bench, clink your glasses together and take a sip of your drinks, watching the stars twinkle. The peacefulness of the night washes over you and the silence between you two is comforting, your hands rest close together on the bench and every time your hands brush each other's, the tips of Theo's ears turn pink while butterflies flutter in your stomach.
“So, how's life treating you?” Theo smiles, keeping his now empty glass aside.
“It's going good. I've always wanted to be a healer so I knew I'll be working at St Mungo's, got a cozy little place and my cat, Coco.” You reply, taking a last sip of your wine. “What about you?”
“Considering the lasting impact that the battle had on my life, I think it's going well. I'm working in the Ministry Of Magic as an auror, my parents always thought that there was no need for me, their only child to work, our wealth can feed generations but the battle changed me in more ways than one and I'm really liking the change.”
“That's great Theo, I'm sure your parents are proud of you.”
“I hope so.”
You both share a smile and then look up at the stars again, enjoying the calm, easy conversation between you and him.
“Also, I meant it when I said that I've been attending Christmas and New Year's celebrations in hopes of running into you.” He speaks, taking a deep breath.
Your heart beats a mile per minute and you wring your hands in your lap, not looking up to meet his eyes.
“I know what you're thinking. Pansy and I, we broke up years ago. After the battle, we both realized that we aren't meant for each other and it wouldn't have been fair to her, when I have someone else in my heart.”
Finally, you look up at him, the corner of your eyes lining with unshed tears as they meet his dark auburn hues.
“Theo..”
“There's something that I've been wanting to tell you for a long time. You remember Professor Slughorn's class where we brewed Amortentia? I was sure I would smell Pansy's scent but instead I smelled roses, vanilla with hints of raspberry.”
Your heart pounds in your chest and your breath hitches. It's your scent.
“It's familiar, very familiar, until I realized it was you. My heart would skip a beat everytime our eyes met, my heart would skip a beat everytime our hands brushed during potions and spells, I eagerly waited for our classes with Gryffindor, my eyes would only search for you in corridors, in quidditch practices, in a room full of people and there were so many times where I wanted to tell you how I feel but it's as if the time was never right, then the battle happened and all our lives were changed forever. If I don't tell you how I feel tonight, I might never have the chance to do so.”
Theo looks into your eyes, holding both your hands in his, “I love you, I am in love with you, my heart beats for you and I can't imagine my life without you.”
Tears pool your eyes at his beautiful declaration of love, the ache in your heart subsides, he loves you like you love him and you take a deep breath, ready to bare your heart to him.
“When Hermione and I brewed up Amortentia, I smelled musk, violets with hints of citrus, your scent Theo and deep down in my heart, I knew I would. My heart would skip a beat everytime our eyes met too, my eyes would only search for you in corridors, in a room full of people, in quidditch practices even if I get hit by a bludger while doing so.”
You both laugh, “I almost got hit once while looking at you.” He confesses shyly as he tucks a lock of hair behind your ear.
“I love you too, Theo. I am in love with you, my heart is, and always will be, yours.”
“You are so beautiful, Cara Mia.” Theo cups your face, his thumb gently caressing your cheek and you close your eyes, giving into the warmth of his touch.
You both look into each other's eyes for a while, before leaning in. When your lips touch, it's as if the world spun backwards on its axis, the kiss starts off slow, sweet and full of promises but switches to passionate when Theo’s arms wrap around your waist, pulling you closer and you melt into him, one of your arms loop around his shoulders while the other cups his face. You both part with a sigh, resting your foreheads on each other as you hold each other in your arms.
“I love you Theo.”
“I love you more, Amore Mio.”
“I would love to meet Coco sometime.” Theo says as you both make your way inside, your hands entwined together.
“She would love you.” You smile, pressing a kiss to his lips, “How about we go to my place after the party and cuddle up with some hot chocolate and hallmark christmas movies?”
“Would love to, principessa.” Theo smiles before leaning in to kiss you again.

HELLO! Could I request a wolfstar x reader where the reader is really into makeup and maybe the boys love watching her do her makeup or Sirius want her to do his or they’re shocked by the prices of it haha idk just some things I thought were cute!! <3333
Poly!wolfstar x reader (Remus Lupin x Reader x Sirius Black) | 400+ words
A/n: I am so sorry this is so short. i see the boys as both wearing makeup frome time-to-time (siri more), so I wrote r doing Sirius' makeup before a party. Also a lil bonus at the end. And since reader wasn't specified as fem, I tried to keep it relatively gender neutral.
Tw: Sirius is mentioned as drunk, barty mentioned, Remus is a pathetically in love man
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 .𖥔˚⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 .𖥔˚⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 .𖥔˚⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 .𖥔˚⋆.˚
When Remus walks through the door of the dorm room he shares with three of his friends (one of which is his boyfriend), he didn't expect to see you already there.
Sat with Sirius (on Sirius' lap) on his bed. Two separate make-up bags with multitudes of products now splayed out.
The lycan walks to his own bed, next to Sirius' and drops his book bag down, catch both your attention.
"Hi, moony." You talk for the two of you, the hand you have on his jaw making it impossible for Sirius to talk. This is probably the quietest he has been the past month, not wanting to mess up any of your hard work. When you look over your shoulder at the taller boy, Remus notices the make-up you have on, likely done by Sirius. Considering how similar it is to what the boy often does on himself for parties.
"Hello, dovey. Having fun?" The corner of his lips quirk up, looking from you to Sirius.
"Mhmm, I am." You turn back to your project on his face, liquid eyeliner in one hand, as you draw the smallest stars you can manage on his face.
Remus can tell your shared boyfriend is having fun too. His hands on your hip rubbing small shapes as he looks up at you like your one of his most prized possessions.
"Did Sirius do your make-up?" He takes a seat on Sirius' bed as well, favoring the area near the headboard where he can lean back and admire the both of you.
"Yes! Isn't it pretty?" You turn to him again, as if said boy isn't even there, showing Remus the make-up he did. And honestly, Remus thinks Sirius might be into that.
"It is, he did a very good job."
"Now, stop interrupting my work." Your smile never leaves as you continue doing Sirius make-up, and inadvertently making both boys melt even more.
ᯓ★
The work the two of you put in doesn't go unnoticed by others. Both having put on glitter before leaving to the part in the Ravenclaw tower, the enchanted lights have been reflecting colors off of you all night.
And despite the fact Remus has had to stop you and Barty from climbing banisters and convince Sirius to keep his damn pants on after too many drinks, he is so in love with you two.

A Man With a Plan.6
prologue // p1 // p2 // p3 // p4 // p5 // p6 // p7
Remus Lupin x whimsical!reader - Hogwarts Era (no Voldemort) - Soulmate AU
CW: swearing, mostly fluff, funny moments with friends, no plot just vibes [crystal dialogue prompt courtesy of keke the unstablereader 🫶]
Though Remus was undoubtedly relieved that you a) knew of his affliction, and b) forgave him for his arseholery, he was admittedly a little more than slightly disappointed that very little had changed between the two of you.
Which made no sense on account of the fact that he never planned on anything changing between the two of you to begin with; he was discontent, nevertheless.
“Oh, good, Y/N’s here. Listen, how the hell do I stop the nargles from stealing my things?” James shouted as you approached the table. You looked like you had perhaps only been prepared to say hello and carry on, to which James was having none of it and nearly bodily forced you onto the bench next to him.
“Hello, Jamie. Do you have your cranberry seed oil infused corks?” You asked as you obediently took your seat.
James scoffed and pulled out a lanyard from under his uniform which, lo and behold, had a cork attached to it smelling very much like cranberry seed oil. “I literally never go anywhere without it.” He said as if you had asked a particularly ridiculous question.
You hummed and Remus watched a divot appear between your eyebrows as you scrutinized what Remus assumed was James’ aura or some other such entity. “Well, I don’t see any around you, James. What makes you think you have a nargle problem?”
James groaned dejectedly and turned back towards his lunch. “All of my things are missing! It started around the time you went missing.” James stressed, still not having completely forgiven you for your disappearance at the last full moon. “It was my school tie, and some socks, a quill set my mom got me at the start of school, and now I can’t find my herbology textbook!”
You hummed again and seemed to look around the table as if you’d somehow find his belongings there. “Perhaps you should ask your friend Peter.”
Remus heard Peter choke on his pumpkin juice as James, Sirius, and Remus all turned to look at him.
“Uh...haha, so, funny thing...” He started, cut off by an indignant squawk from James.
“You were stealing my stuff!? Why!?” He cried.
Peter’s cheeks pinked though a pleased smile graced his lips. “You were so worried about Y/N being missing and the nargles taking your things. I thought a funny prank would lighten the mood; I wouldn’t get a chance like that again!” He defended himself.
“You are so dead.” James muttered as Peter (wisely) took off out of the Great Hall with James hot on his heels.
“Alright Y/N.” Sirius started, throwing an arm over your shoulders. “You’ve gotta tell me; how’d you know it was Petey boy?”
A shy sort of pride painted your features and Remus thought it was the most beautiful you ever looked. “Wrackspurts.”
Sirius’ smile fell slightly, but the amusement never left his eyes. “Wrackspurts?”
You nodded in agreement. “Mhm. His head was full of them.” You said simply as you took a piece of cut strawberry from James’ abandoned plate and popped it in your mouth.
Sirius nodded with a look on his face that seemed to say ‘fair enough’. “And how’d you know about this one?” He asked, motioning towards Remus with his head.
“About his affliction, or about his soulmate bond?” You asked as if you were simply talking about the weather.
Sirius cocked his head as he considered you. “Both.”
“His aura...or I suppose Moony’s aura.”
Remus felt his eyebrows recede into his hair line. “Moony has an aura?” He asked you.
You nodded in the affirmative. “I’m assuming you’re right-handed?”
Remus nodded numbly.
“Most of the lunar cycle, Moony’s aura sits around your left shoulder. As the cycle moves closer to the full, he resides on your right. Also, sometimes when I’m near, he tries to come closer. Would you say that’s true?” Your serene tone did nothing to calm the racing of his heart.
“Well, I’ll be damned.” Sirius said, interrupting Remus’ internal struggle. “There really was nothing you could do to hide from this witch, huh Moons?”
Remus chuckled self-deprecatingly and looked down into his lap in a little bit of shame. Your smile never faltered, however.
Peter and James returned then; James with a self-satisfied grin on his face, and Peter with his hair, shirt collar, and tie in disarray.
“What’s so funny?” James asked as he sat beside you, smacking a platonic kiss to your cheek as he winked over at Lily from her spot further down the table, whose face turned a shade of red rivaling her hair at having been caught watching James.
“Remus and his last two braincells trying to keep Y/N away from him.” Sirius snickered. Remus kicked at him under the table which caused you to jump. He apparently had missed his mark and had kicked your shin by accident.
“Fuckin’ hells, dove. I’m so sorry. Are you okay? Oh my gods...”
Sirius barked another laugh as Peter whispered a quiet ‘dove?’
“Oi! You really have lost your gobstones! Can’t believe Moony’s the dumbest one out of all of us now.” James said as he checked your shin for injury under the table.
“Remus isn’t dumb.” You defended the dumb bastard.
“Well, you can’t say he’s very smart here, dollface.” Sirius conceded.
You hummed and shooed James away from your leg. “Wisdom was chasing him; Remus was just always faster.”
This time, poor Pete lost his pumpkin juice completely as he sputtered mid-sip. You didn’t even seem to realize you’d said something particularly funny (or devastating) as James nearly fell off the bench in a fit of laughter and Sirius pulled you into his side.
“Oh, for the love of Merlin. Remus, please, can we keep her!?” He said in between bouts of laughter, wiping away a mirthful tear from under his eye.
Remus had no objections.
Tumblr media
What Remus hadn’t agreed to was this.
Remus understood that allowing Moony (and...himself) to keep you around meant that he would ultimately have to share you. He knew that he’d have to share you with James, he’d have to (rather unfortunately) share you with Regulus, he’d have to share you with Pete and Sirius who seemed just as enamored with you, and he’d likely eventually have to share you with Lily, Marlene, Mary, and the rest of his friend group.
He was however not in the slightest prepared to have to share you with the likes of Barty Crouch Junior.
Remus had, quite happily, found you studying in the library alone and asked politely if he could join you at your table. The two of you had been studying in companionable silence when Regulus showed up. No matter, Regulus was quiet and diligent in his schoolwork.
Then, Sirius had shown up perturbed that his baby brother and his best mate were hanging out (to which both Regulus and Remus vehemently denied, seeing as they were both here studying with you, not each other), and insisted he be involved. Though Sirius struggled with the whole sitting-still-and-quietly thing, he more or less managed to join the three of you without much fuss.
But then James showed up, which sparked a long and arduous debate between he and Regulus regarding which entity was worse – wrackspurts or nargles – to which you weren’t even a part of save for each of them calling to you in need of an explanation every so often. You would look up from your book and answer them politely before returning to your schoolwork as if you weren’t surrounded by complete idiots.
Remus was lovestruck.
And then Barty showed up.
“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N, Y/N, Y/N, Y/N.” Crouch screeched as he ran through the library completely ignoring the shushing from other students and string of curse words following him from the crotchety librarian.
“Hello, Bartemus.” You greeted the banshee serenely.
“Quickly, darling.” He started before promptly dumping a large sack of tumbled rocks and gems in front of you.
“Where’d you get all of these?” Regulus asked incredulously, reaching to pluck a small stone that had rolled over to his open book.
“Never you mind that!” Barty shouted as he swatted his hand away. “Y/N - light of my life, apple of my eye - which of these crystals will help me piss of my dad the most?!”
Once again appearing completely unperturbed by the general chaos around you, you perused the crystals set before you.
“Well, Carnelian can invoke passion.” You said as you plucked a red stone from the pile. “Garnet can invoke intense emotions: jealousy, anger, fear. I recommend pairing it with gold – maybe place it in a gold setting for a necklace or something similar. Dravite will bring up unresolved emotions...” And soon, two red stones and a brown stone sat in your palm as you held them before Barty.
“Pfft, figures.” Barty grumbled. “Red and gold never fail to piss me off either.” He sneered, looking pointedly at the three Gryffindor’s seated at your table. Remus was not necessarily proud of the low growl that the comment elicited from him, but he was proud of the restraint he showed when Moony was screaming in his head to tear the fuckers head clean off his scrawny body.
“Bartemus.” You chided gently, looking up at Barty standing above you like a parent might look at a particularly troublesome child: full of love.
Remus hated it.
“Sorry my sweets.” Barty cooed at you and ran a finger along your cheekbone.
Remus hated that more.
“Mr. Crouch!” The librarian called, finally having caught up to her problem student.
“Well, I must be off.” Barty called casually as if it was completely of his own volition that he now vacate the premises. “Keep the rest, beautiful angel face. Much love!”
And he was gone.
Thank Merlin.
“The friends you keep.” James muttered as he shook his head in disappointment as if he wasn’t one of said friends you keep.
“Oh, Bartemus is not so bad. Perhaps just a little misunderstood, and a little more than maniacal.” You put simply.
James was shushed loudly by the librarian for his laughter.
“I’ll go check on him.” Regulus said as he stood. He barely spared the Gryffindors a glance as he nodded politely at you. “I’ll see you later, Y/N.”
“Goodbye Regulus.” You sang to him, smiling brightly like he had just been anything more than sort of polite to you.
Remus once again figured that was as much affection as Regulus could ever show.
“You boys are welcome to help yourselves to the crystals. It’s a wonderful idea to take the ones that speak most to you.”
James exclaimed gleefully as he started to browse the many stones in front of you. Sirius’ face piqued in interest as he quickly plucked the most sparkly stone on the table.
“Jamie, you should bring this one to Lily.” You said as you handed him a small, slightly translucent pink stone. James didn’t bother asking questions such as ‘why?’ or ‘what is it?’ or even ‘should I be worried?’ before he accepted it, punctuating his ‘thanks angel’ with a kiss to your hair before he was racing out of the library.
“What stone was that?” Remus asked, unable to quell his curiosity.
“Rose quartz.” You responded simply.
“What’s it do?” Sirius asked.
Your mouth quirked in thought. “Stones don’t really do anything. They just encourage what’s already possible.”
Sirius rolled his eyes earning him a defensive kick in the shin from Remus.
“What does rose quartz encourage, dove?” Remus placated.
“Love and affection.”
Remus nodded and watched as Sirius pocketed two more shiny and sparkly stones before his expression was painted with mischief. “Say, Y/N. What crystals should our dear Moony here have?”
Remus couldn’t even bother shooting his mate an unimpressed glare when your face picked up excitedly and you began sifting through the stones. He watched just as animatedly.
After a few moments, you proudly displayed a small palmful of stones.
Remus placed his hand palm up beside your much smaller one and relished in the intimacy of you gently transferring the stones into his palm; your hands gently brushing in the action.
“What are those stones?” Sirius asked curiously.
Remus swore some bashfulness painted your features as you pointed the stones out in Remus’ palm. He was thankful for the continued contact as you explained them all.
“This is amethyst, which supports calmness; rids the mind of negative thoughts, and promotes dreamless and restful sleep.” You explained, causing Remus to nod his head. That could be helpful.“This is obsidian which helps one process their emotions.” That one earned a snort of laughter from Sirius. “Jasper is supposed to provide support during stressful times. This is moonstone which...well...I suppose that’s self-explanatory.”
Remus hummed but couldn’t help but notice you failed to discuss the last stone sitting in his palm. He wasn’t going to push it, however.
“And the pink one?” Sirius asked sharing no such qualms, lips quirked in a smirk and eyes full of mirth.
You cleared your throat awkwardly, clearly feeling slightly self-conscious, but explained it nonetheless. “Rose quartz to encourage love and trust.”
Remus would usually consider himself a generally skeptical person: but you may have just converted him.

“it’s bloody freezing out here,” mutters sirius, his voice gruff in the early morning air.
you roll your eyes, glancing at him out of the corner of your eye. in your peripheral, you can see his mussed hair and dark circles, as well as the scowl that colours his handsome features.
“you should’ve stayed behind if you’re going to whine, sirius,” you respond, raising your brows.
he wrinkles his nose, looking an awful lot like he’s smelled something foul. “are you mad? i’m not staying cooped up in that castle when you lot are out here having fun. where’s moony?” he looks at you expectantly.
“running late, i suppose,” you glance at your watch, a christmas gift from remus. it’s charmed, the tiny mice printed on the watch frolicking around as you get the time. your face turns pink, embarrassed although you love the little watch. you hope sirius doesn’t see. you’d never hear the end of it.
“well, it’s half eight. earliest i’ve been up in weeks.” sirius yawns, swiping his sleeve across his face.
you roll your eyes again. you knew the lot of them would be menaces upon returning from the christmas holidays. sirius spent the two weeks of holiday break at james’s house, the two of them likely driving the potters out of their minds. the pair of them had clearly suffered from a lack of sleep, made clear by sirius’s incessant complaining about being up early.
you wanted to spend the holidays at hogwarts, hoping that remus might convince his parents to let him do the same, with no luck. you suffered a miserable two weeks at home, your parents refusing to let you out of their sight for a second. you hardly even had time to respond to the owls sent by your friends; notably, a muggle christmas card of lily and her family, an odd photo of sirius and james wearing charmed elves’ hats, and a sweet note from remus wishing you a merry christmas and promising you a gift upon your return to school.
thus, you are excited to spend a few hours having fun with your friends without worrying about lessons. if only you can wrestle sirius out of his grumpy mood.
there’s a chorus of boots crunching through snow behind you, and you turn to find lily approaching. james and remus trail close behind, with marlene at the back.
“what’s with the frown?” lily makes a face at sirius, who makes another disgruntled face.
“hasn’t got his beauty sleep,” you warn, a smile playing on your lips.
“you’d know about that, wouldn’t you?” sirius says crossly.
you raise your eyebrows at him.
“simmer down, pads,” james says, bright as ever. “don’t mind him. he’s just peeved because of that detention mcgonagall gave him.”
he pats his friend on the back, accompanied only by a grumble from the long-haired boy.
“yes,” says remus, “who knew she would catch him trying to turn marie littletree’s quill into a bowtruckle?”
“all right,” says sirius. “i get it. i’ll paint a stupid little grin on my face like prongs here. can we get on with it?” he grins at the confused half-smile on james’s face, then nudges his friend in the shoulder.
“right,” says marlene. “lily’s got an itinerary.”
“yes,” says the redhead. “first hogsmeade weekend back, and i’ve got plans. now, the three broomsticks is going to be absolutely swimming with people.”
“it’s always swimming with people,” james chimes.
“right,” she gives him a sharp look, and he scratches his neck awkwardly. “i was thinking, we should skip the morning crowd, and have a go at ice skating.”
“ice skating!”
“ice skating?”
james and your exclamations mirror one another, as you both gawk at lily. james looks like a child on christmas morning, and you look… well, terrified.
“oh, godric, i’m going to be so embarrassed. i can hardly walk, lils, much less skate!” you groan, feeling the exasperation sirius has been bleeding all morning.
“c’mon, y/n!” james gives you a shake around the shoulders, looking excited. “you’ll be fine. a little arresto momentum, and you’re saved.”
“right, and which one of you is going to babysit me to keep me from face planting?” you glare at him.
“sounds like a job for moony, if y’ask me,” says sirius smugly. he’s already strutting towards the pond, james close on his heels.
marlene grins, and lily looks at you pleadingly. “c’mon, y/n,” she begs, pouting like a child.
“it’ll be fun,” marlene adds.
you huff, not wanting to feel like a buzzkill.
remus places a gentle hand on your shoulder, squeezing gently. you sigh.
“you’ll be all right,” he urges, voice soft.
you sigh, but concede. “fine.”
lily and marlene cheer, taking off behind james and sirius on their way to the pond.
you frown, glancing over at remus as you fall into a slow pace following them.
“do i have to?” you wonder aloud, hooking your arm through his as you crunch through the hardened snow.
remus smiles down at you, a gentle smile finding his lips. his cheeks are pink from the cold already, his honeyed hair sticking out in tufts from beneath his knit hat. your stomach does a flip, and you have to force yourself not to look away.
“don’t tell me you’re scared, mouse,” he says, raising an eyebrow.
“scared? pfft, i don’t get scared,” you mutter, rolling your eyes.
“oh, really?”
“really. but i know my strengths. and ice-foot coordination is not one of them. i’m preparing to embarrass the wits out of myself.”
“it can’t possibly be that bad,” he says.
“have you met me, rem? i tripped over the air just last night.”
“i actually think that was a badly timed jinx from sirius.”
“i hope you’re joking.”
“afraid not.”
“oh, he’s got it coming.” you shake your head, remembering the burn of your cheeks as you tumbled in a heap in the common room. remus came over, smiling to himself as he helped pick up your things. you’d wanted to crawl into a hole and hide for the rest of the night.
as you approach the pond, you blink at the sight of a few other students gliding over the frozen water. you blink, not feeling confident in your abilities. you can feel your legs wobbling already, hearing the sound of yourself crashing into the ice.
“okay,” you stop in your tracks, grabbing remus by his wrists. he faces you, eyes expectant.
“yes?” he humours you, looking as serious as you feel.
“promise you won’t laugh if i fall.”
his features crack into a smile, his head falling as he laughs softly. “c’mon, mouse,” he nudges you, draping an arm over your shoulders. he’s warm, and you lean into him as he leads you closer to the water’s edge, where your friends have already conjured up their ice skates.
“if you laugh, i’ll never forgive you.”
“i’ll keep an eye on you,” he says, “and i promise i won’t laugh.”
“holding you to it,” you say, joining marlene and lily by the pond.
“here,” marlene takes half a second and conjures you a pair of skates, untied on your feet.
james and sirius are already on the ice, flitting around faster than you can keep up with. they’re a pair of blurs, their laughter ringing through the air.
you make a face, your ears burning just at the thought of how you’re going to look trying to keep your feet beneath yourself. you don’t even notice your untied laces as you wobble towards the ice.
“just a second, mouse,” remus says softly, his large frame stooping to tie your shoes.
your face goes red as you glance down at him, feeling sheepish. “sorry,” you say, “i could have done that.”
“i’ve got it,” remus hums, his scarred hands tying your skate laces with expertise.
he’s towering over you again in half a second, winking at you as he reaches down to grasp your hand. his skin is warm, even through both pairs of your gloves, and you feel a bit better.
“y’alright?” remus wonders aloud, guiding you to the edge of the ice. he steps on gracefully, somehow able to keep his feet from sliding beneath him. you stare down at his skates, nervous.
you frown. “i’m scared,” you admit, face darkening with embarrassment.
“don’t be scared,” remus says.
he tugs your hand, smiling warmly. you hate how persuasive he is; his soft voice and gentle smile have a way of turning you into a gushing mess in the palm of his hands. no one knows how to make you feel better like remus does.
“you’ll still love me if i make a fool out of myself, right?” you wonder aloud, stepping slowly onto the ice. you tuck your bottom lip between your teeth, focused on keeping yourself upright.
“i’d love you even if you made a fool out of the whole world, love.”
he’s laughing as you join him on the ice, the velvety deep sound sending butterflies rampaging through your stomach. he grasps your hand, ever so gently, and pulls you to the center of the ice, where fewer of the other students are. your classmates fly by, agile and quick on the ice. you feel somewhat like a baby deer, your legs wobbly beneath you.
“see, not so bad, is it?” remus encourages, his features now split in a jovial grin. his tawny eyes glitter with amusement, the corners crinkled by his big smile.
“no, i guess not,” you agree, fingers still gripping the sleeve of his coat in a vice.
“d’you want to try on your own?” he inquires. his long fingers loosen their hold on your wrist, but you tighten your own around him.
“no–not yet!” you squeak, moving closer to him and throwing your arms around his middle. he laughs, his chest rumbling against your cheek. you take a deep breath.
“sorry,” he chuckles, smoothing a hand over your hair. “i’ve got you, m’little mouse.”
you blink, peeking around his frame to see sirius and lily engaged in a race across the pond, their speeding frames silhouetted by the snowy landscape behind them. a grin spreads over your features, watching as james and marlene cheer them on.
“i don’t know how they do it,” you muse, shaking your head.
“you’ll be racing them in no time,” remus says teasingly, slowly unraveling your death grip around him.
“if you say so,” you murmur.
remus pulls you along gently, gaining some speed as you become more comfortable at the feeling of being on the ice. after several minutes, you’re no longer as unstable on your feet. you hardly even shriek when james charges at the pair of you at full speed, spraying you with a shower of ice as he stops at the last second.
“you git,” you hiss, sending a snowball his way with a flick of your wand.
he curses loudly, already halfway across the pond when it hits his back. lily and marlene dissolve into a fit of giggles, while remus chuckles gently.
you don’t even notice that he isn’t holding you steady anymore. distracted, you’ve released your grasp on his sleeve, and are slowly gliding alongside him. you’re closer to the edge of the pond, your feet steady beneath you as you gather confidence.
“feeling okay?” remus has spun around, facing you as he skates backwards.
what a showoff, you think, but you say nothing. he doesn’t know it, but you adore just how easily he picks up on the things you find to be absolutely mind-boggling. despite his insistence that he’s nothing special, he picks up on skills with ease. he’s a talented wizard, quick-witted and good at solving problems under pressure. it’s precisely why he excels in school, despite being out around each full moon and sometimes struggling to come out of his shell.
“thanks to you,” you say, flushing. “i wouldn’t be out here if it weren’t for you, you know.”
he smiles sheepishly, his wind-chapped face going a deeper shade of pink. “sure you would.”
you laugh, shaking your head. “i’m serious, rem,” you say. “thank you.”
“don’t thank me,” he says, looking more than a little embarrassed.
you reach for him, wanting to hold his hand, but you see concern flash in his eyes. your eyes widen, but before you can say anything he’s already reaching for you.
“watch out–”
but you’ve both reacted too late. another student slams into your shoulder, knocking you off kilter. you squeal, falling to the ice too quickly for either you or remus to react. the air feels as if you’re caught in slow motion for a second; the ice is approaching your face with extreme speed, glistening in the morning sun. without thinking, you brace with one hand, the other halfway reaching towards remus.
your arm breaks your fall, and there’s a sickening crack as you hit the ice. it’s harder than you thought. you shriek, a sickening pain rocketing up your wrist and shoulder as you finally collapse completely.
“shit,” remus hisses, crouching as you feel his hands on your shoulders, trying to help you up to a sitting position.
you’re too focused on the excruciating pain in your arm to realize that you’re crying. the tears are hot against your skin, burning your cold cheeks as you sit up. you clutch your arm with your other hand, looking at the horrible purple lump already protruding at your wrist.
“merlin,” you sob, “it’s broken!” the sight of the bone jabbing at the inside of your arm makes your stomach do a turn, and you force yourself to look away. remus crouches in front of you, his worried face swimming in your teary vision.
you hear your friends shouting, and several nasty words directed at the student who slammed into you. you glance over, seeing marlene dragging sirius away by his scarf as he tries to throttle the poor third-year student.
lily skates towards you, slowing as she approaches.
“oh, dear,” she says, as she sees your arm.
“it’s bad, isn’t it?” you ask, glancing between remus and lily. you can’t force yourself to look back at the arm, feeling as if you’re going to faint if you have to see the bruises blooming over your arm.
“not so bad,” lily lies, offering a forced smile.
“we’ve got to get some help. you need to see madam pomfrey.” remus says. he’s crouched, one hand coming out to wipe the tears from your face. you breathe in his scent, trying to ground yourself.
james, sirius, and marlene finally join you, sirius still cursing the student as marlene drags him over.
“ugh,” james says as he sees your injury.
sirius peers over remus’ shoulder, his eyes blazing with fury as he sees the extent of your injury. “i’m going to curse the bollocks off of that kid!” he hisses, reaching for his wand, tucked into his coat pocket.
“sirius, stop it!” marlene scolds. “we have to do something about that arm. there’s no way y/n’s making it back to the castle in this state.”
“i’m fine,” you insist, though your stomach is rolling unpleasantly. you think you’d likely vomit if you had to stand.
“you’re not fine,” remus says, his voice stern. “your arm’s gone sideways. you need to be in the hospital wing.”
“we can’t move her like this,” james says, sounding as sick as you are.
“let lily have a go at it. she put my pinky right when that bludger hit it at practice,” says sirius.
“your pinky?” remus says incredulously. “i think an arm’s a bit more important than a pinky.”
“rem,” you say, nudging him with your foot. “it’s fine. i trust lily. besides, i think i’ll be sick if we don’t do something now.”
remus sighs, his eyes dark with worry. he places a hand on your knee, shifting slightly to let lily get closer. “fine.” you can tell he’s not happy about it.
“marlene, go get some help, will you?” you say, your head swimming. you feel closer to fainting by the minute, shock setting in.
“‘course i will.” she’s gone in a flash.
“okay,” you breathe, closing your eyes as you wait for lily to fix your arm.
“right, then,” she pulls her want out of her pocket, leaning closer. there’s a second of silence before she says, “episkey!”
only, the spell doesn’t go quite right. a blinding hot pain blooms in your arm, and you shriek again. this time, you’re not strong enough to keep from fainting. white spots bloom behind your vision, and you collapse.
you wake hours later, in the hospital wing. you stir, your throat dry as you turn over in the cot. your vision is blurry as you peel your eyes open, finding your arm wrapped in some kind of sling. madam pomfrey is nowhere in sight, but remus is slumped in a chair at your beside.
his eyes are closed, his breathing steady as he sits. his head rests lazily against the back of the chair. you study his face; his scars shine in the sliver of evening light that spills in from the window behind you. you groan as you move, your entire body aching.
your muscles throb, the fall having taken its toll on you. you watch him for a few minutes, the delicate rise and fall of his chest. his hair falls in golden wisps over his forehead and his ears, tickling the nape of his neck. you smile, glad he’s getting some rest. you’re sure he’s been perched in that uncomfortable chair all day. he’s probably missed all of his meals, crouched by your bed worrying.
you smile to yourself, wondering how you’ve ended up with someone so perfect.
he stirs finally, his eyes crinkling as he yawns.
“rem,” you say softly, catching his attention as he opens his eyes.
“hey, sleepyhead,” he says, a tired smile painting his features.
you reach for him with your good hand, his long fingers reaching out and enveloping yours with ease. his skin is warm as he brings your hand to his lips, holding it there for a moment. your face heats up. embarrassed, you want to sink down into the cot and disappear, but you can’t run from him. he knows you too well.
“have you been here all day?” you wonder.
“of course,” he says, as if you’d be crazy to think otherwise.
“you didn’t have to do that.”
“yes i did,” he says, frowning. “it’s my fault you went out there in the first place. you wouldn’t be hurt if i hadn’t convinced you to go skating.”
“hey,” you scold, “don’t say that. it’s not your fault. none of it’s your fault.”
he shakes his head, looking apologetic. you sigh, squeezing his hand.
“i’m serious, rem. i don’t blame you. i had a lot of fun, until that kid ran into me, at least.” you grin, trying to lighten the mood.
he can’t help the smile that creeps onto his features. “poor guy,” he says, “sirius wanted to hunt him down so badly. said he was willing to have detention for the rest of the year, if it meant he got his revenge.”
you roll your eyes. “what a hothead,” you laugh.
“yeah, think the kid was pretty scared too. he send a card up, and some chocolate frogs.” remus passes you a card. you open it up, and a flock of little birds explodes from the paper, as well as a bright, sparkling message that says get well soon!
you smile, feeling much better already. you squeeze remus’s hand again, closing the card as he passes you a chocolate frog.
“thank you,” you say in response, though both of you know you’re not just thanking him for the chocolate.
he nods in response, leaning over to press a kiss against your forehead.

high hopes
wc: 4.7k
cw: dealer!remus, high reader, rough family dynamic, impied parental abuse
“You never think of anyone but yourself!” are the words shouted at you as you walk out of the front door and you shudder.
It’s been like this for months, your parents have been just taking hits at you when they can, roping your siblings into it too.
You’re not entirely sure what you’ve done for them to suddenly look at you like this, but you don’t have much time to think about it.
Your friends are outside waiting for you to join them so you slap a smile on and skip out your gate.
“You look hot Bubbles,” one of them compliments, the use of your high school nickname making you smile, kissing her cheek as you get in the back.
“So do all of you!” you compliment back, hoping your voice sounds cheerful. “Where are we hitting up tonight?”
The call of alcohol and something to make you forget is too strong to resist. You need them.
Your friends jump into the house party you’re all going to and when you pull up you smile.
It’s a modest house, two stories from the looks of it, but it’s the group of people outside the door that really make you smile.
You can’t remember the last time you’d gone to a house party where people actually smoked outside and not in the house.
Also, the music was blaring and from the sounds of it, you’d be losing your voice tonight.
“Okay, I’ll get the weed, Bubbles you’re with me.” Your friend, Marlene, links your arms and drags you towards the group of smokers.
“Hello boys,” she calls, and they all look up. The first one to catch your eye is the beefy one with inky curls that sit messily on his head, he’s gorgeous.
“This is James,” she points to the other boy beside him, the one with tattoos crawling up his exposed arms.
He’s pretty too, but in a model way. He has strong cheekbones, lots of silver jewellery and hair that brushes his shoulders, “Pretty boy here is Sirius,” he only takes a drag of the cigarette between his fingers.
“And this,” she says, pointing towards the last boy, “Is Moony, or Remus.”
He’s by far, in your opinion, the most beautiful. He’s got sandy brown hair that flops over his eyes a little, and has scars running across his face, but the one that splits his upper lip catches your attention as it turns a silvery white under the starlight.
“Boys, this is Y/N. But I call her Bubbles.”
They all hum while you wave and James asks, “Bubbles like from the cartoon with the superhero girls?”
Marlene nods with a wide smile, “She’s adorable and she’s always so happy and that’s our Y/n.”
Remus raises his eyebrows at the comment and you give him a soft smile. His eyes linger on yours rather than the soft smile, and there’s something there that he can tell is for the benefit of your friends.
“We came to buy something,” you remind Marlene and she nods.
“Yeah, I wanted a couple blunts for now and I’m placing an order for brownies.” she says to Remus who shakes his head.
“No, I only have the stuff that made you grind your teeth last time.”
You watch kind of silently as they go back and forth: Remus insists he’s not listening to Marlene gripe about her jaw or teeth for another week, and Marlene insists that Remus is being dramatic.
Really though, you silently side with Remus because she had complained about lock jaw and sensitive teeth for a week the last time.
“Pretty girl, help me out.” he says, lazily leaning against a post as he faces you.
“Tell Marls that no one wants to hear about her lock jaw,” his honey eyes captivate you now that his full attention is on you.
“Marls, you really shouldn’t ruin your teeth.” you say gently and she scoffs.
“You’ll hook me up with your dentist again, Moony’s being frugal.”
Sirius shakes his head and butts in before you have to.
“Marls, come take a drag of mine.” she squeals and goes off with Sirius to a corner, James passes by when Lily arrives and that leaves you with Remus who’s still leaning on the post.
“Do you really only have molly?” There’s a little hint of hopefulness in your voice and a lazy smile spreads on his lips. He pushes off his spot and jerks his head to his car.
“I’ve only got molly where Marlene’s concerned. She’s been smoking too much recently,” you can attest to that fact.
“Is that really so bad for you?” Though they seem like friends, you know Marlene well enough to know that sometimes, people were just people and you knew people enough that sometimes money was just money no matter who it came from or how they got it.
“I kinda have’ta keep her ‘round, Sirius’ll have my head and the girl’s got a bright future.” you snort at Remus’ obvious sarcasm. The brightest thing about Marlene was her personality and while it had opened lots of doors, you don’t suppose it’ll open business doors- not any that Marls would take a liking to anyways.
She’d always been much better suited for things that didn’t make her conform.
“I’ve got brownies though, maybe like two more.” he opens his passenger door and brandishes a resealable shiny bag
Just seeing the bag conjures memories of your last high. The sun had been so warm after you’d eaten the gummy bears that your skin had peeled the next day after you had accidentally fallen asleep on the deck.
“How much?” you ask, already envisioning the high you’re going to have.
“Seventy,” he says and you nod, reaching into your purse and pulling out a hundred dollar bill.
“I don’t have anything smaller, but you can keep the change.” you say and Remus shakes his head.
There’s something about the way you look at Remus then at the bag that makes him set on not taking the hundred dollar.
“I couldn’t,” he could, the extra thirty would probably get him the week’s worth of fruits if he spent it at Frank’s. It could probably get him that new keyboard too, or well, it could go towards it.
“I insist, if they’re as good as Marlene claims they are, I’ll be buying in two days. Think of it as an advancement.” you say and Remus nods hesitantly. He barely withholds asking if you’re going to take the two tonight and why you would need to buy in two days specifically.
“Don’t eat both of them tonight, the high kicks in after twenty minutes.” he can’t stop himself s he notes the look in your eyes from earlier.
‘Thanks Remmus,” he watches you go over to Marlene and just barely makes out the words, ‘cheeky bastard’ before Sirius whisks him away to the party.
When he spots you again you’re sitting on the sofa with the biggest bowl of cereal known to mankind and scrolling through your phone.
He also notes that you’re alone and none of your friends are near you.
Sirius noticed and shook his head, slapping his hand down on his best friend’s shoulder.
“You look like a creeper,” Sirius says lightly, leaning over Remus’ shoulder. Remus scoffs, watching milk dribble down your chin.
“She’s high and Marls is pissed out her mind and her other friends aren’t even around.”
Sirius looks around and the group you’d come with aren’t visible but he knows where Marlene is, he left her in one of the rooms to recover.
“So you’re gonna stare off at her from afar and not just make friends?” Remus groans at how creepy Sirius makes him sound and pushes his friend off him.
“She hardly knows me,” He argues but Sirius just laughs.
“What does that have to do with anything? You’re not taking her back to your gaff.”
Remus sighs, brushes his hands on his thighs and stands, intent on making his way over to you.
“Pretty girl,” he greets you and you turn, eyes glassy and low as a smile spreads on your lips slowly.
“Moony!” Remus feels his own lips quirk. Taking the seat, he observes you for a moment. Unsure what conclusion to draw and says,
“Where are your friends?” you look around at his question and shrug with a sigh.
“Marlene slept with your black haired friend. The one with the grey eyes,” you slur over the words a little. Your tongue like wet sand under pressure. “My other friends are off doing whatever. S’fine really, I quite like being alone.”
Remus begs to differ. You shouldn’t be alone while high like this.
“You’re not alone anymore though,” he says and you nod, cracking the joints in your fingers.
“Nope, you’re here.” you don’t sound upset that he is and Remus takes that as a good sign.
A silence covers the space but then your phone rings and you flinch at the sound.
You fish it out your purse and sigh when you see whatever name on the screen.
Remus watches as you answer, eyebrows bunching together when you seem to be cut off. He reckons if the music wasn’t so loud he’d hear raised voices on the other side of the phone.
“I gotta go,” you say awkwardly to Remus as you hang up. “It was nice to meet you Remus.”
You don’t sound nearly as happy or as carefree as you had when he’d first sat down and he’s not sure if it’s that fact or how sad you look now that has his standing too.
“I can take you,” the words are out his mouth before he can stop them and if Sirius was closer Remus is certain his tattooed friend would laugh at how desperate he looks.
“I couldn’t ask you to do that,” you say but Remus shakes his head.
“You’re not asking, I offered and you’re stoned. There’s not a fat chance you’re driving anywhere, pretty girl.”
You nibble on your lip, debating his argument and when you find no rebuttal you sigh.
“Okay, but just,” you hesitate. “No comments about anything you see. Not to Marls or anyone.”
It’s cryptic but Remus nods, “Let me just tell Sirius I’ll be back.”
You nod and text your friends that Remus is dropping you home.
Instantly Marlene responds with a series of random letters and an excited voice note saying that you should definitely exchange numbers with him.
Your other friends don’t answer, but you say a quiet prayer that they’re safe.
The drive to your house is filled with your soft singing along to Remus’ radio and a plea for him to, “Please please stop at Dominoes.”
He stops and you sponsor him a pizza and a lava cake before he arrives at your house.
Remus doesn’t say anything but you can tell he’s staring at your house and you give him an embarrassed smile.
“Yeah, it’s a bit much, but my parents worked hard and they wanted to reflect that I guess.”
Remus detects a hint of distant disdain for what you have but he’s not entirely sure why.
“Thanks for the ride Remus,” you give him a side hug and before he can thank you for the pizza, the front door is being opened and out comes your father.
“You might wanna drive off,” you can feel the trepidation building in your gut when Remus doesn’t move to pull out of your driveway. “He’s gonna start yelling if you don’t.”
You really want Remus gone before your dad escalates the situation.
“I’m not leaving till you’re inside.” he says, and you want to smile but it comes out a bit tight and pinched.
If Remus can feel the anxiety rolling off you he says nothing and you’re grateful but you really wish he would leave.
There’s no telling how this night is going to end.
“Get inside now,” your father bellows and you grimace.
“Goodnight Remus,” you walk backwards toward your front door and say, “Come back in three days with more brownies, please. Thanks for tonight Remus.”
Remus nods and you finish your trek to your father who waits till Remus can’t see to grab your arm and all but drag you into the house.
“You’re hurting me,” you whimper and your father’s grip only tightens.
“Not as much as I could.”
The three days pass quickly, and you’re really grateful that you’ve got school work backlogged that keeps you in England while your family goes to Spain.
You’re nose deep in your work, drawing designs and mapping the layout of different buildings when your phone rings.
“Damnit,” you mutter, it’s almost like thinking of your family conjures them even miles and miles away.
“Hey ma,” you’re ready for the conversation to go sour at any point.
It does, you hear your dad in the back mutter about how you’re ‘the only one who doesn’t care about the family’ and his other verbal assaults and while your mum tries to temper his accusations you can’t help but feel your heart crack.
“I’ll call you back mum, enjoy the rest of the vacation.”
She tries, bless her heart, to keep you on the phone but she knows that the call that was supposed to be about her telling you of the jewellery she picked up for you isn’t for right now.
“I’ll talk to you tonight. I love you.” then she’s gone.
Your tears don’t stop after you hang up, your chest feels heavy with the weight of your father’s words.
You’re not really sure how long you’ve been reduced to tears but then you hear a car pull up and its horn.
“Shit, fuck!” you mutter, pulling back the curtain and seeing Remus’ car.
“Just my luck,” you say, putting on your glasses so it’s harder for him to tell you’ve been crying.
Grabbing your purse you rush outside and give Remus a tight smile when he comes out of his car.
“Pretty girl, this is an unusual outfit.” he’s only teasing. You’re in what you call ‘daytime pyjamas.’ They’re a light pink set with flowers on them and they stop at mid thigh.
Remus has a hard time looking away from the dough of your thighs and though his hands are full, they’re itching to grip your exposed skin.
“It’s an unusual day,” your voice is still thick with tears and Remus can tell.
His mind drifts back to Marlene’s comment about you always being happy and takes a look at your eyes and finds them bloodshot.
“Yeah? Maybe it can be made better,” you nod, hopeful that it can be. “There’s four in the bag.”
It’s a shiny blue bag this time and when you take it from Remus, you can smell the weed.
“Four? You’re spoiling me.” you say and Remus laughs.
“Not technically, you’re still paying.”
You wave your hand at him and he laughs some more.
“How much do I owe?”
“Seventy,” you shake your head.
“Something about that doesn’t seem accurate, Remus.”
Remus presses a hand to his chest, “It’s the truth. You let me keep thirty last time.” and you bought him dinner the other night.
You roll your eyes, “Then that means two are seventy, so I owe one ten.”
You pull the bills from your wallet and hand it over to Remus who stares at you in shock.
“Most people take the lower price and don’t say anything.”
“I’m not most people,” you shrug and Remus is inclined to agree.
Your phone rings again and you decline the call when you see ‘dad’ plastered on the screen.
“You going to Marls’ house party tonight?” Remus asks while he has your attention.
“And risk a verbal lashing if I stay home? No amount of backlogged research and case studies would ever get me out of it.”
Remus likes when you smile like you do when you imagine Marlene upset with you.
It’s a real one, not the one you’d been wearing the night of the other house party and then Remus feels insane for thinking he knows you well enough to tell your smiles apart.
Your phone rings again and again you decline and then a text pops up that makes you grumble to yourself.
“I guess I’ll see you there Remus,” you say, holding your bag to your chest. “The call of those case studies is too strong to resist today.”
“Bye, pretty girl. Don’t eat more than one tonight.”
You raise your hand to wave as you walk away when Remus sees finger shaped bruises along your arm.
“Pretty girl,” he starts and you freeze, dropping your arm with an arched eyebrow. “C’mere a second.” He really shouldn’t ask. He should leave it be, but then he thinks of how Sirius used to have the same bruises too.
Remus hazards a glance at your face and when he detects anxiety and a little bit of fear, he knows he has to ask.
“Who did that?” His voice is honeyed as he bridges the gap between you. You’re grateful he doesn’t reach for your arm, certain that it’d bring tears to your eyes. His mind instantly runs to how you’d told him to not say anything about what happened when he dropped you off and his chest aches for you a little.
“I hit it,” the lie is off your lips easily and Remus clearly doesn’t believe you as he ducks his chin to meet your eyes. “Hard. On a wall.”
He shakes his head at your insistence, but tsks lightly.
“You shouldn’t protect those people, pretty girl.”your eyes fill involuntarily and Remus worries that he’s overstepped as you shake your head.
“You don’t know anything about me, I did hit it on the wall.” There’s a slight shrill to your voice and Remus wants to take back his words. “No one has hit me, thanks for the brownies Remus.”
His name sounds like a curse as he watches you walk away, not leaving a moment for him to even apologise.
“Nice going Lupin.”
-
At Marlene’s house party, you hardly speak. You’d eaten an entire brownie before leaving your house, the high already making your fingertips tingle as you held onto your drink.
You’d opted for something less dramatic than your outfit at the house party- choosing instead a yellow and pink milkmaid dress that was finally wearable as the winter chill came down to a breezy spring. You’d chosen a pair of Mary Janes to be a little safer, knowing there was no way you’d be sober enough for heels.
“Sexy!” Marlene greets you and it brings a genuine smile to your face.
“Right back at you Marls,” she’s in a pair of the smallest jeans shorts you’d ever seen but they make her legs look amazing. “You look smoking hot.”
She ushers you inside and that’s when you get the drink, cold and icy making your shoulders go lax.
“Remus is gonna be late, the git.” Marlene complains as Sirius and James come in, and Sirius gasps.
“I’m here, I’m company enough.” you shake your head at the teasing look Marlene gives him that makes him huff playfully.
“Is Lily coming too?” You ask James who looks a little disheartened.
“She might, got held up at work,” you make quiet conversation with everyone, but when Remus arrives you feel thin.
Like he can see right through you as you laugh and joke with Frank, Mary and Marlene.
Marlene reads your stare at Remus as a lack of a chapter in your life in the five days you’ve been apart.
“What’s goin’ on there?” sh gestures vaguely between you two s Remus makes for the kitchen.
“Nothing, we hardly know each other,” you try to stick with the truth. “I think he’s upset about something else.”
Thank God for Sirius who swipes her away and her impending twenty one questions are saved for another time.
Your high only peaks higher as the night wanes on and when you can hardly wiggle your fingers without giggling, Remus wants to slot himself beside you and make sure you don’t get influenced to go in the pool.
“We should’ve waited til the full moon,” he hears you say, close enough to make sure you’re alright, but far enough away that he’s uninvolved in the conversations.
“Why?” Mary asks, Lily nodding along. You’re glad she had been able to make it, James had really seemed to miss her.
“Dancing naked under the full moon in a new house is like a guaranteed way for divine protection.” it’s a load of bullshit, something funny you’d picked up from Practical Magic, but you always wondered if you could actually invoke some spirit by doing it.
“We can still do that Bubbles,” Marlene says, then with as much precision as a drunk person could have she points to Remus. “We can dance under Moony.”
Everyone laughs but your eyes follow her finger and find Remus closer than you’d expected.
“Would you let us?” you ask, wonder on your face as you stare at him. “I dunno how that’d even work, but I suppose if you’re willing,” you shrug at the end of the sentence, your brain running off trying to figure out how it would be possible realistically.
Remus takes the opening in conversation as an indication to come closer and sits right beside you. Your thighs are pressed together and you’re sure Remus can smell your toffee and vanilla perfume.
“I’m sorry about the earlier, pretty girl.” The guilt that he’d made you cry had been gnawing at him all day, sitting heavy on his chest as he tried to go on about his day. He knows he’s overstepped, but he really had been worried. Remus is worried even now. You’re still mumbling to yourself about how you wouldn’t actually be able to dance beneath him.
“Pretty girl,” he taps your thigh gently, snapping your attention to him.
“I’m mad at you,” your voice is feathery as you try to keep the words a secret. “You weren’t supposed to ask questions.”
Remus nods sagely, “I know. I’m sorry for making you cry.” he says and you turn to make sure none of your friends have heard him. He finds it odd- that you seem nervous about them finding out you’ve cried recently.
“S’okay, you didn’t mean to.”
Silence fills the gaps in conversation, till Marlene is yelling for you by the pool again.
“Come swim,” she calls and you smile.
“I’ll get all wet, Marls.”
Remus thinks the possibility that you ingest some of the pool water is pretty high too.
“And? I’ve got pyjamas! The soft ones that you like.”
You feel tears prick your eyes at that, but that’s why Marlene really is your best friend.
“Okay, but you have’ta catch me!”
Toeing off your shoes quickly you run to the edge of the pool, and jump in and Remus is almost in behind you till you resurface.
“S’fucking cold Marls!” you shriek and she cackles.
You rough house for a bit then feeling your stomach churning.
“Remus,” your teeth chatter over his name. “Help me out.” he’s quick on his feet, lifting you out of the water from under your arms and leading you to a bush in the corner.
He doesn’t stare at the curve of your ass or how your dress clings to you like a second skin, but it’s tempting.
Then you retch and all he can think about is pulling your hair back and rubbing your back.
When you’re done, you sit on the ground shivering a little and wiping your mouth with the hem of your dress.
“Think you’re all tapped out for tonight, pretty girl.” you nod, sighing and leaning into Remus. If he minds he doesn’t say.
“Here,” he slips his sweater on you, revealing a plain white shirt underneath. His sweater is warm and green and it smells like what you expected Remus to smell like- weed and mint.
“It’s gonna get all wet,” there’s a pout in your voice that Remus longs to coo at. He just shrugs. You slip the straps of your dress off under his sweater and pull your dress off down your thighs. If he had been tempted by them before, now he thinks he might die from how you look in his sweater that exposes almost the entirety of your legs.
“Think we should get you a little drier and warm.” he says, helping you stand and leading you back inside Marlene’s house.
His hand hovers over the small of your back as you wind up the stairs. You push open a few doors till you find the bathroom and Remus stands in the archway.
“I’m gonna go look for something for you to wear after you shower,” the words are intimate for the relationship you and Remus have. “Do you want anything specific?”
Your eyes look glassy under the light as you stare up at Remus, “She has a pair of pants with little cherries on them and they’re super super fluffy.”
There’s adoration dripping in your voice and Remus wonders how much of both highs are still at play.
“I’ll leave it on the bed for you,” Remus starts walking away, “You should probably get some sleep though, pretty girl.”
You nod rapidly and then shut the door, turning on the water and while you wait for it to heat up you mumble to your reflection.
“Get it together, I can’t believe you were just sick in front of him.” You rub your face in the shoulder of his sweater and take a big inhale, breathing in all things Remus and then scowl at yourself.
“Behave.” you even wag your finger like they do to poorly trained dogs.
Remus is sitting against the bannister when you come out, steam licking at your heels. His eyes are hazier than before and you’re almost positive he had taken a short nap while waiting on you. He looks pretty though, ankles crossed in front of him and arms crossed over his chest.
“Didn’t want you to be up here alone,” his voice is husky and you’re fully positive he’d been asleep.
“You’re gonna make me feel spoiled.” you mumble the words and Remus stretches to standing.
“What’s so wrong with that?”
He follows you to the bedroom door and then says, “Get some sleep, it’ll help with that headache you’re gonna get.”
As he moves to the stairs you suddenly don’t want him to go. “Wait,” you shuffle towards him, et footprints following you.
“Your sweater,” the words come out awkwardly as Remus stares down at you.
“Keep it, it’s still mostly dry and you can put it back on if you get cold.”
There’s an unsaid, ‘or if you don’t want anyone to see the bruise.’
You nod, but Remus can see gears turning in your head.
“Don’t laugh at my request.” you dig your toes into the hardwood.
“I won’t,” Remus is worried you’re going to say something outlandish and hard to come by, but he also wants to know what you want- he wants to be the one to give it to you too.
“Will you stay with me? Just till I fall asleep and then you can leave if you want.”
The words are rushed and your chin stays firmly tucked into your chest. Remus thinks you look like a little kid who’s nervous about performing for their school.
“Why would I lugh? ‘Course I can, pretty girl.” his knuckles reach to brush some hair off your cheek. “Jus’ let me tell Marls and get you some water and crisps.”
“Thanks Remus,” you kiss his wrist and go to change.
Remus swears if you had kept your lips near his wrist any longer you’d have felt his pulse stampeding.
When he comes back to the guest room, you’re in his sweater just barely awake as you lay down. “Scoot down to the corner, pretty girl.”
He sets the water on the nightstand and slides in beside you.
“Thanks for staying,” a yawn breaks apart your words and Remus waves you off.
“It’s nothing, close your eyes.” you do, and your body turns into him, head laying on his arm.
You’re gonna kill him. He knows it, he feels it in his bones. You’re going to be the death of him.

Dolldrops Scenarios, huh? You have just unleashed a wholesome monster, aka me /j
Alright, I'll name a few. You don't have to do all of them, or any for that matter. Your art and characters, you get to pick what is to be drawn and I respect that :)
Alrighty...
1. You've mentioned before that these little cuties still have the daycare attendant programming in them, they're just in smaller bodies, right? Well... I can picture the two little sweethearts (Especially Sunny) doing a lot of cleaning. That's part of being a daycare attendant! The daycare got messy because kids are walking germ bags!
2. I remembered that Valentine's Day exists, and maybe the little doll boys could spend that day just being cuties together. Maybe Moony could get a heart patterned hat instead of a star patterned one?
3. Last one, I promise. I could totally see Sun and Moon trying to stand on each other's shoulders to get something from a tall shelf since they became really short. They refuse to ask Chill for help since they're busy with work. And they just end up toppling over each other. Don't worry, they've got pillows near them to break their fall :)
Alright, that's all. Also- I really love your work, it's incredibly sweet and cute, and your artstyle is really pleasing to me. :)
Hello! Thanks for these suggestions and kind words about my art!
Here's the dolls' answer to your scenario number 1!
