Case in point. Monkey D Luffy. Yes, I know he has two older brothers. I wanna fuck them too. But Luffy? That's the love of my life.

Jack Frost, Bakugo Katsuki, Karma Akabane, Oga Tatsumi... I can keep going.

Most of my crushes are usually the second protagonists. Usually. There was a point in time when they were all redheads. And then they had black hair. Then Katsuki fucking ruined it. And after that it stopped mattering.

They all have that boyish charm. They're funny. Most of them also have a thing for violence. They can and will kick ass, and look good doing it. I love when they get crazy about it too. Love me borderline sadistic men.

Most importantly. When they're in the caring role. Like. Older brother types! Or dads!

Oga literally has a fucking kid. Of course, I'm crazy about him.

While Katsuki may not fit the category perfectly, he is responsible. And really fucking hot when in charge. From what I remember of that one bkdk movie, he was pretty good at taking care of those two kids.

Jack Frost. Fucking love that guy. First time I saw he had a sister, I was gone. The way he talked to her?? “We're gonna have a little fun.” Like, the way he's just reassuring her and shit??? Swoon.

Karma! He's also just. Ya know? I love when he's murderous and he's pretty damn responsible too. Got that vibe from him. This bitch causes me so damn grief too. All my fault, of course. But I'm still blaming his dumbass for it too.

i think one of my favourite parts about the "Jason has an army of kids in Crime Alley that will do anything to protect their protector" HC is that they absolutely would inherit all of his 'little shit' traits. they'd throw the other Bats off course on purpose. It is so, so important to me that people understand that Tim didn't figure out the bats because Dick was a "Show off". Like yes, Dick Grayson is the most flamboyant, dramatic ass man you will ever meet.

But the quadruple somersault? There's no way that was because dick was just showing off. Because you're telling me Bruce Wayne, who's so committed to hiding his identity that he literally acts like a completely different person out of the mask in public just to ward suspicion, would miss the fact that Robin regularly uses the flying Grayson's trademark move? There's literally no way.

In the comics we see Tim explain his deductive process to Dick and Alfred and they're both surprised impressed whatever. We don't see him explain it to Bruce. I think Bruce would be surprised and shocked that a 9 year old was able to put the pieces together but I don't think he'd be surprised that the quadruple somersault gave it away.

So if Bruce was possibly aware of such an obvious give away, why let it continue?

I'll tell you why.

It really comes down to the physics

So Dick was 9 when he started out right? That means the most he'd have likely weighed was 43kgs or roughly 95lbs in freedom units.

But Dick and both of his parents are gymnasts who tend to be smaller. So he was likely less than that.

In physics, rotating objects build up angular momentum (this is how bikes stay up right for example). The more rotation, the more momentum. And objects with less mass build up that momentum much faster than those that are heavier.

Robin constantly has to fight people who are nearly 3 times his size. I teach 8 year olds, they're tiny. A quadruple somersault for a small boy that weighs less than a hundred pounds is a brutal weapon. Especially if you add in the acceleration from gravity as he drops in from above.

And I can guarantee you this logic tracks because Dick literally utilizes this idea, without the somersault, in the 2009 teen titans cartoon.

Yeah, that's right. We're talking about the infamous knee drop.

Like it is borderline savage. Add in a quadruple somersault and the resulting force is nearly fatal. It's likely the main reason Batman would ever allow him to do it with the cape on.

Also, Dick landing feet first on the penguin in the first image probably gave the guy severe back issues

The JL has to get involved with DeathStroke for whatever reason, and all the old Titans outright refuse to let any of the kid hero’s work on this case.

The kids are outraged,

“Why can’t we help?”

“We’re trained!”

“Do you not trust us?”

And the Titans just have to be like,

“No, no! We trust you guys! Of course we do, it’s just that that guys a pedophile.”

Dead silence.

Remember, the titans in this are no older than late twenties. Their mentors know for a fact that they went up against Slade when they were teenagers, there’s not many ways that the Titans could know with this much certainty that he is a nonce without the JL also knowing.

The adults just kinda look at their kids in horror, the Titans realise that they never really told anyone but eachother to avoid deathstroke. In an attempt to be reassuring they tell them,

“Don’t worry! He’s only really into kids in capes”

As in, he’s only into kids that are hero’s or villains.

Shockingly not very reassuring when they were child superheros.

In another attempt to reassure them, someone else pipes up-

“It’s only really kids with dark hair and shorts!”

Nightwing and Raven both kick that guy as they realise what they just said.

Another person (God they should really just leave it as it is) decides to tell the heros,

“No! He was also into Terra! She’s blonde”

Batman is just kinda stood in shock cause, oh my god, that man has been near all of his kids.

This is almost definitely really inaccurate but I just wanted my thoughts out here.

"Are the Robins child soldiers" It depends. If the story is super serious and into exploring complex morality and grounded from reality's standards, then yes. If the story is lighthearted, made for children, fluff, etc., then no. If it's somewhere in the middle, it might depend.

If an author wants to write a story seriously delving into the fucked up-ness of children fighting criminals, they can, and if you don't like it, you can read something else.

If an author wants to write a fun story about villains and heroes featuring Robin in a world where that's not an issue, they can, and if you don't like it, you can read something else.

If an author wants to write a serious story but not apply IRL-logic to Robin, they can, and if you don't like it, you can read something else.

i lied, put your clothes back on. we're going to talk about the infantilization of tim drake and how the DC fandoms 'fanon' has ruined peoples perception of the actual character. that man is a menace. he is not scared of jason todd, he think's he's better than jason. like, jason todd was beating the shit out of him and tim still told him that he was the better robin. he was not scared shitless, he was planning his next plan of attack.

tim probably jokes about rematches all the time, jason too. jason and tim have beef, but like they're still brothers, they still care for each other. it's just that next wednesday tim's going to the outlaws current hideout, dressed in a party city red hood suit, and beating the shit out of him because he's planned this shit for years and now is when jason will least expect it. he's not trying to kill him but a few broken bones wouldn't hurt, and then he's going to take some of jasons blood and write 'tim drake was here' just to spice things up.

tim drake is a fucking menace to society and he would never let anyone forget that.
