do you have any idea how many things had to go right for us to happen?
korea was closed for tourists, and i could only get a student visa. i was feeling kinda lazy, so although we got the offer to apply for a student visa and studying part time in a different location, i thought it seemed like too much work. i decided to postpone my trip, and left in late december instead of september.
you decided to come back to korea when you did. you could have likely chosen to go back sooner or later. it was for your enlistment that you came back after all, and although theres a time limit, you arent confined to a very specific timeframe to do it.
you got a job at EF. you befriended celia (to some degree.... lol), and accepted her invitation to join for dinner, which led to our meeting. celia happened to be in my class, which led to me going out to dinner with her in the first place.
you messaged me about valentines day after i posted a story on instagram, and although you maybe didnt intend it that way, i took it as a sign that you were interested. we made plans.
i think that after this point, we both made mistakes to some degree. some worse than others, obviously. although part of me regrets what happened here, its also a period of time that im grateful for; it led us to where we are now.
we met again at an activity, and decided to be friends. it gave me courage to ask you if you wanted to sit next to me on the bus to busan, the next activity. i dont even think i wouldve gone to the activity on my own, but me and aron thought it would be fun to see some place other than seoul, so we signed up together.
a lot of things happened in busan. refer back to previous post about your drunk behavior. anyway. you asked me to stay in your room, and we cuddled. i was lucky enough to have andreas there, who i explained the situation to (to some degree) and he agreed to switch rooms with me. hes the real mvp here
we decided to become fwb. i liked the arrangement, because i missed your closeness. and although you told me specifically "please dont fall in love with me", i did anyway. i swore to myself that i wasnt ready for a relationship after convincing myself i was the worst person alive, and you had already told me you would never consider involving yourself romantically with me again.
by some fucking miracle, you changed your mind. you slipped up, i dont remember the context, but you said something like "i wouldnt be dating you if you werent cool." "we're not even dating," i said. i didnt know how to take it. i was thinking about it constantly until you brought it up. i felt bad that i had maybe... gotten too close? i didnt want you to feel suffocated, or like you were getting into something you didnt want to.
you had to leave to get your drivers license. i was horribly in love, and i made time to talk to you every day. although i had more things i wanted to do in korea, i wanted to prioritize you not feeling lonely. i felt like you wanted/needed someone to talk to, and i wanted to be that person. i didnt want you to feel left out just because you werent here with your friends in person.
maybe it was just all the time we spent together the last few months. maybe it was the fact that we were fwb. maybe it was something else entirely. but holy fuck, so many things had to happen for us to end up where we are today. and i booked my ticket back to korea before even leaving korea. i had a lot of money left over from my initial EF budget, and it was enough to go back. you were so fucking worth going back for. and all these months will be even more worth it. i love you so much. i cant believe how many things had to happen before we could.

[The Pack Next Door] Wooyoung: Sorry Not Sorry (Part One)
Tumblr media
(photo edit courtesy of @songmingki)
Characters: Wooyoung x female reader
Genre/warnings: werewolf au, brother’s best friend au, not really fluffy but there’s no angst until the very end
Word count: 1,788
Summary: Everyone knows that werewolves can’t control who they imprint on, no matter what they think their preferences might be. But despite that, Jongho can’t help but absolutely loathe Wooyoung because the older boy went and imprinted on his older sister.
a/n: reader is obviously written to be older than jongho so if you dont like that bc it doesn’t apply to you, im sorry but oh well. also i don’t have any sort of update schedule so updates are gonna be way slower than they were for mingi’s lmao
Next | Sorry Not Sorry Masterlist
For a long time, Wooyoung was just your younger brother’s annoying friend. You were three years older than Jongho, so while you weren’t too far apart in age, you were just far enough that while growing up, you found your younger brother and his best friend absolutely annoying and obnoxious. And it seemed to be one of Wooyoung’s favorite activities was annoying you or pranking you with your brother.
Eventually, the three of you were grown-up enough that Jongho and Wooyoung didn’t bother you as often. You both were still in school -- you in high school while the pair was just starting middle since Wooyoung ended up staying back a year in grade school -- and while you did often see Wooyoung around your house during afternoons and weekends, his presence didn’t annoying you nearly as much as it used to.
It wasn’t until Jongho was 15 and Wooyoung was 16 that you realized just how accustomed you’d gotten to having Wooyoung around, because you stopped seeing him. He was no longer on the couch with your brother, yelling at the video games they’d play on the TV after school. You no longer walked into the kitchen to see him rummaging through your fridge like he was in his own house. Wooyoung just...stopped coming around.
And Jongho was noticeably sadder, too.
“What happened to Jung Wooyoung?” you had asked him after about a week of no sign of your brother’s best friend.
Jongho sighed, looking more depressed than ever after hearing you mention his best friend since childhood, “He was sent away.”
“Sent away?” you repeated with furrowed brows. “Where? Why?”
“His parents said they sent him away to an all-boys school because he was acting out,” he explained.
Maybe Wooyoung acted differently at his own home than he did at your house, but you didn’t think the younger boy acted out at all. Maybe when he was a child, but he’d been fine the last 5-ish years. It didn’t make sense to you, but then again, you didn’t know Wooyoung very well.
However, you didn’t know it, but you were right. Wooyoung hadn’t been acting out at all. His parents wouldn’t tell anybody, but they’d actually kicked Wooyoung out of their home and sent him away to live with his uncle whom they’d disowned from their family because he was a werewolf.
And so was Wooyoung.
Wooyoung had gone missing for about three of those days that he wasn’t around your house. It was something most teenagers who first shifted would do, unsure what else to do after becoming a giant wolf. His parents had a feeling what had happened since his father had seen it happen with his brother. When Wooyoung had eventually returned, his parents confronted him about what happened, and the poor boy was immediately shunned and sent away. But when Jongho went to ask, they lied and said he went to a different school far away now.
Jongho was sure without any type of contact with his best friend, he’d never see Wooyoung again.
But you never thought much of him again. Jongho did eventually make new friends, and while he didn’t talk about him often anymore, he did think of Wooyoung every now and then, recalling the good times they had and wondering what he was doing with his new life. But you carried on with your life, eventually going off to college and only seeing Jongho when you went back home to visit.
There was one instance where Jongho had come to you at your apartment, though. He was sweaty and out of breath, seeming panicked. His eyes were a scary crimson that had you gasping and stepping back from him, unsure why they looked like that. But he kept saying he didn’t know where to go or what to do.
That was when you found out Jongho was a werewolf. You weren’t sure what to do with that information, either, but you helped him go to your parents with the information. Your mother had said her great grandfather was one, but they weren’t sure if anyone else in their family would get what they expected to be the werewolf gene. But thankfully, they were accepting and went to your grandmother for some help and advice.
During his time in college, Jongho had found some new friends that he started living off campus with. They seemed to make him happy, and he spoke about them like they were family. He had confirmed they were his pack, and you were happy that he managed to find them. You thought it was sweet that your brother had new friends in college that he cared about and who seemed to care about him, as well.
“Oh, and hey, do you remember Jung Wooyoung?” Jongho asked while he was first gushing about his friends.
“That little twerp you were friends with since forever?” you chuckled.
“Yeah,” he laughed. “Well, he's in it too! He lives with them!”
Your eyebrows raised in surprised, “Wow. It’s been years since you’ve seen him.”
“I know!”
“It’s like you two were meant to be brothers this whole time,” you told him with a laugh. “That’s kind of crazy. Fate’s really amazing, huh...”
“You should come visit sometime. I think you’ll really like the guys. Hongjoong’s really cool, and Yunho’s pretty goofy but he’s sweet. San’s kinda flirty but he’s really nice and stuff when you get to know him. I think you’ll get along well with Seonghwa and Yeosang, honestly.”
“Oh yeah? Why’s that?”
“Because you were always no fun growing up,” he teased.
But you did eventually go visit your brother. It had been a little while since you’d seen him anyway, so you figured why not. Besides, he seemed really excited about his pack and especially getting to reconnect with his childhood best friend. Honestly, you were a little bit curious to see how Wooyoung grew up.
What you didn’t expect when you arrived was to see Jung Wooyoung for the first time since you were in high school, and see him as so much more than just your little brother’s annoying friend.
Jung Wooyoung had grown up to be more handsome than you could’ve even imagined if you’d ever bothered to remember him. As soon as your eyes landed on him as he walked out the door to catch up with the pack while your brother excitedly greeted you from the driveway, you felt a massive crush on him hit you. And if this was what your grandmother had told you, Jongho, and your parents about, this was something more serious than just a human crush.
For Wooyoung, his entire world stopped. All he saw was you in his vision, everyone and everything else falling away. His heart was beating out of his chest, his palms suddenly felt clammy, and he had the strong urge to run right up to you and just wrap you up in his arms.
He had imprinted on his childhood best friend’s sister.
Thankfully, with Jongho’s excitement to introduce you to the pack, he hadn’t picked up on that. However, the same couldn’t be said for the pack. Seonghwa easily noticed, Hongjoong had a very strong suspicion, and Yeosang thought it was so painfully obvious that he couldn’t believe that Jongho didn’t realize when he had re-introduced the two of you and you finally had to properly acknowledge each other.
Yunho was the only one who didn’t notice, thinking that was just how Wooyoung was. He was very flirty with, well, just about anybody. So the older boy didn’t have reason to think anything of it.
But it was silently decided that nobody would tell Jongho about it. Neither you nor Wooyoung knew how to tell him. Jongho had become very protective of you ever since becoming a werewolf, so not only were you afraid of possibly upsetting him, but Wooyoung definitely was. Not only was Jongho his brother now, but they had been best friends since they could remember, and they had finally reuinted. He didn’t want to ruin their relationship, and neither did you. And since neither of you ever said anything, the rest of the pack knew it wasn’t their place.
Eventually, another werewolf came into the picture: Song Mingi. He was tall, a little awkward, but very sweet and funny. He had imprinted on his best friend, Aera, who he hadn’t told yet and insisted everyone associated with the pack never speak of it to her -- that included you. You weren’t at the pack house often -- Wooyoung would simply sneak out to visit you at your apartment because that was way easier -- but you were glad that Mingi’s situation overshadowed your own. The less attention on you and Wooyoung, the better.
Until Mingi ended up telling Aera, and then someone had to go and open their big, stupid mouth and ruin everything for you.
Jongho had invited you over for dinner to sort of ‘celebrate’ Mingi finally telling Aera after however many years that she was his mate. They, like Jongho and Wooyoung, had grown up together and were best friends throughout their whole lives. You were shocked Mingi managed to keep his secret for so long, but you were happy for him that he finally told her. Besides, Aera was always so laid back and relaxed. You figured she’d be fine with the whole situation.
“I still can’t believe you made a mistake that stupid,” you chuckled as the pack launched joke after joke toward Mingi’s lapse of thought which caused Aera to find out. “Even I know to be more careful than that.”
“Yeah, but you have family that’ve been telling you about werewolves since Jongho was in high school,” Mingi pouted. “My parents still don’t even know.”
“Guess they’re next on the list of people to tell,” Yeosang joked lightly, knowing Mingi was getting a little grumpy from all the teasing.
Yunho snorted before laughing, “Where are Wooyoung and _____ on that list?”
However, the joke that was meant to lighten the mood only made it worse. The air seemed to thicken almost immediately as everyone but the oblivious werewolf froze, eyes unsure if they wanted to look at you, Wooyoung, Jongho, or just continue staring at the table. It was so silent after Yunho’s laughter turned awkward and then quickly died down that even you could’ve heard a pin drop from outside. But after what felt like an eternity of just dead silence, something finally broke it that made you wish you’d continued to just sit in the quiet.
“What?” Jongho asked sharply.
From the end of the table, you heard Mingi mumble, “What was that about stupid mistakes?”

Chapter 5: Heartrenders
Days went by, and they turned into weeks. The leaves fell off the trees, a crunchy sea of red, orange, yellow and brown, and Alina wanted to pile them all on and throw herself inside.
She'd do it the first chance she got, but for that she had to beat the gardeners before they took the piles and burnt them to depressing ashes.
She talked to Michail some more during they rounds around the lake and had her rematch with Natasha.
She lost. Again. She laughed it off. Again. Natasha said she hadn't been so easy to defeat that second time, to which Alina smiled almost genuinely. Progress.
Baghra refused to see her still, and Alina was too proud to go back to her, so she tried to practice on her own. She'd hide away on the far sides of the gardens where the other grisha rarely went to and try to gain more control. It was a slow process; the temptation to let her power run free and vast was always there and trying to tame that always left her exhausted. She had no trouble falling asleep, yet each day the bags underneath her eyes seemed to deepen, as did her appetite. Alina was pretty sure that summoning should be for the better, but more than once, she had thoroughly considered laying down on the cold grass and take a nap there instead of walking all the way back to the Little Palace.
The General wasn't back yet, and much to Alina's confusion, frustration and shame, she worried. Maybe that too had something to do with the bags underneath her eyes. She tended to dream of him in all kinds of scenarios, each less pleasant than the last. It made her wake up sweaty and choking for air.
More than once, she almost wrote to him, only if just to make sure he was alright. But he had to be. Otherwise, word would've spread quickly…right?
She always talked herself out of it though. His presence was missed, her mind was making up all kind of tricks to make her reach out to him like a pathetic girl begging for attention.
The thought reminded her of Baghra's opinion of her, which only strengthened her resolve to not write to him.
She had had enough of begging, enough of getting scrapes of affection from a man who hadn't even bother to write once; she wouldn't do it again, no matter how much her heart tried to pull her to him.
But then her eyes would drift back to the black, shadow rose that laid on her nightstand, the little bit of gold on its inside long dead, and her heart would race and some form of reassurance would fall gently over her, like a blanket shielding her body.
She'd reach out and take it in her hands. It had no thorns. Her fingers would run through its petals, as soft as those of a real rose, but with something deeper in there. There was something more alive inside that rose than in any flower in all of Ravka; it was deep, powerful, and dark. It scared and alluded to her in the same measure, and she'd stare at it fascinated for an unfathomable long time.
She wondered if The Darkling could feel her caressing his shadows; and how he'd feel about it.
Besides Michail and Natasha, Alina didn’t seem to be progressing very much. They exchanged niceties and some jokes, even paired up during training, but there was not much more to it.
She told herself to be patient. These things took time.
One early afternoon, Genya showed up on her room unannounced. Alina hurried to hide her rose inside her nightstand; she wasn't sure why, but she wanted it to be her little secret.
"The Queen just left Os Alta." the redhead smiled. "As did the king. They'll be gone for two days on a hunting trip."
"A hunting trip?"
"Yes, where they kill animals for the fun of it. Like one of those brutish size competitions men seem to like so much."
Alina snorted.
"So?"
"So…"there was a gleam to her friend's eyes, and the summoner leaned back and frowned slightly, almost scared. "I could sneak you into the Grand Palace and into Her Royal Bitch's wardrobe."
"We'll get in trouble, Gen."
"Oh, please; have some faith in me." she placed her elbows on the desk and her chin atop of her hands, almost looking angelic. "Do you really think I'd get you in trouble?"
"Yes."
"Well, then you're wrong." she straightened up and tugged on Alina's arm. "C'mon; there's so many gowns and habits: she rarely wears them twice. We're not stealing; no one will know."
"How many gowns?" she asked, genuinely curious. She had seen the queen on two official occasions, the first time when she arrived from the camps near Kribirsk, and the second when she was invited to her ridiculous tea parade. Still, she had seen her in passing a few times as she strolled the grounds. A part of Alina felt ashamed of the jealousy she felt upon seeing her beautiful clothes and jewels.
There she was, living in a palace, wearing a kefta and being pampered, yet she dared to want more.
"Hundreds!" the Tailor whispered excitedly. "And they'll look much better on us anyway."
She gave in a little to temptation. They would just try them on and leave them again. No one would know, and maybe she'd be satisfied then.
"Alright, alright. But we better not get caught."
"Don't worry, we won't."
They left the bedroom and ran down the stairs, Genya holding onto the blue sleeve of her friend as she rambled about all the different fabrics and patterns and accessories while Alina tried to keep up with her, listening to every word while watching her step. The last thing she needed was to trip down the stairs.
That'd be a sad way to go for her.
"You'll love it. I promise!" Genya turned to give her a smile, but Alina's eyes drifted to the looming figure appearing in her line of vision.
The Darkling walked into the Little Palace accompanied by Ivan, Fedyor and a third heartrender.
It was a woman, a little bit older than Alina probably, but only for a few years. She was tall, with long, brown hair cascading down her back. Her kefta, which hugged her rounded figure nicely, gave her away as a fellow heartrender.
The Darkling noticed them approaching. Alina tried to search something in his eyes, anything that gave away any sort of emotion that could cause in him to see her again, but she saw nothing but his usual coolness.
The Summoner and the Tailor came to a stop and bowed.
"Moi Soverennyi." they bowed respectfully.
"Miss Starkov, Miss Safin; it has been some time." he looked from one to the other. "May I inquire as to your present activities?"
"Nothing we're not supposed to do." Alina spat out, earning herself a dainty elbow to the ribs.
General Kirigan rose an eyebrow.
"I see. See to it that it stays that way."
"Of course, sir." spoke Genya, serious all of a sudden.
The man turned and contemplated the strange woman for a moment, then gestured at Alina with a gloved hand.
"This is Alina Starkov, our Sun Summoner." he looked at her, those pools of grey catching her breath. "Miss Starkov, may I introduce you to Nina Zenik. She is one of my best agents and has just recently returned from an assignment in Shu Han."
The woman's green eyes settled on Alina, taking her in. Something glittered in there.
"So, she is real after all."
"Would I lie to you?" was The Darkling's reply.
"You forgot to mention how pretty she is." Nina ignored him, taking a long, stealth step towards her and catching a tendril of Alina's dark hair in her fingers.
"Um, it's a pleasure to meet you." The Sun Summoner managed to say, nervous under the woman scrutiny.
"Oh, a pleasure indeed, sun bean." Nina smiled, amusement shining in her eyes as Alina's face heated up. "I can't wait to make your acquaintance."
Before Alina could even think of an answer -for the woman's pretty eyes were too distracting- The Darkling cleared his throat.
"Not for some time, I am afraid." he said. Alina finally turned her gaze to him. There was something dark and intense in the way he was staring at Nina's back, his jaw tense. "Miss Starkov has quite the busy schedule."
Alina felt Genya tensing beside her. Nina's eyes slid momentarily, as if she could see The Darkling behind her, and nodded, winking at her before receding.
"Certainly. I can only imagine." she turned a charming smile on him. "Should we discuss my mission in private?"
"Of course." he answered almost, almost too quickly. He made a gesture for her to go in first.
"See you around, sun bean."
Alina choked on her own saliva as she struggled to say her farewell.
Ivan left with them without even glancing in their direction; Fedyor was kind enough to give them each a courteous smile.
Genya was giggling like an idiot.
"Shut up."
Now she was laughing.
During their training one day, Alina decided to pair up with her. Many grisha gave her a myriad of odd looks, and for a moment, Alina feared she might be about to face another Zoya.
Nina seemed to not to notice them and beckoned her forward.
People seemed to like Nina, Alina observed. The woman had charm and wit; the Sun Summoner really had to try to not get jealous of those traits. She reminded herself that Nina had been at the Little Palace for years, not one season and a half.
They circled each other, taking their measures.
Alina didn't want to be the one to strike first. That always had seemed to go wrong thus far, so she waited.
The heartrender went to the left, so Alina turned, only to be tricked as she received a blow on her right. She winced and stood back, more alert. She didn't want to make a ridicule again.
"You're small and skinny." the heartrender whispered. Alina arched an eyebrow. "I'm bigger and stronger, so your best option is to tire me out."
"I'm not exactly the fastest person."
Nina threw a punch and, luckily, Alina blocked it successfully.
She shook her head.
"Speed and resistance don't need to go hand in hand."
Alina didn't dare to look around to see if anyone else could hear them. She hoped not. Botkin would most certainly disapprove of his students giving each other advice on how to defeat them.
So, with Nina's words in mind, Alina did her best to block and recede. She tried, mostly unsuccessfully, to punch and kick, and received a wince and an "ouch" as Nina rubbed her calf.
The Summoner could feel everyone still watching, Marie and Nadia cheering her on; Sergei and Michail more reserved since she was fighting a fellow red sporter.
Then, Alina caught a glimpse. It was a second, and before she even knew it, she was taking a chance.
Nina was placing her foot down, twisting it as if to test it, and the next she was laying on her back, Alina having all but hurled herself at the woman, grabbing her middle section with all her strength and pushing.
They landed on the ground, and in the disbelief, the Summoner almost forgot to fully immobilize her opponent the way Botkin had taught her.
"You know," Nina gasped, the breath having abandoned her lungs. "There's better ways to get on top of me, sun bean, but if you like it rough-"
Alina blushed in embarrassment, both for having potentially hurt her and for the path those words were leading to.
"Are you alright?" she interrupted hurriedly. "Did I hurt you?"
Nina tried to laugh and cried instead.
"Shit, sun bean. You do have some strength in that tiny body after all."
"Alright!" Botkin clapped his hands twice, coming over toward them. "The little girl wins again, …finally."
Alina was almost offended. At least Marie and Nadia were cheering, as were some others Etherealki. She noticed Sergei and Michail exchanging some coins and scowled.
"Healer." she called, and one hurried to Nina's side.
"It's just a broken rib." the woman said, setting herself to work.
Nina raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I'm impressed, sun bean. I didn't actually think you'd win."
Alina found a new hiding spot where to practice her summoning. It was a most secluded corner, surrounded by old trees, an unkept stone bench and a dirty sculpture of a woman.
She really wanted to be offended.
With eyes wide, she forgot all about her practice, raced and jumped in, laughing childishly to herself.
She looked up and took in the warmth of the sun with pleasure, her face basking in it as her hands ran through leaves and sticks. It was actually a little uncomfortable, but fun.
She almost wished she could sink in and stay there forever, with the sun warming her body and the crunchy leaves all around her.
There was a big pile of leaves.
"Did you fall?"
A shadow took the light from her face, and she found The Darkling standing over her, looking down with something akin to curiosity.
"No. I just jumped."
"Into a pile of dirt?"
"It's not dirt. Besides, it's fun!" she extended a hand. "Wanna try?"
He huffed. Her cheeks heated up. She should've known better.
He took her hand and pulled her up, the mere contact making everything about him feel more intense as usual.
She held onto him.
"How did you find me?"
"You are my Sun Summoner; did you really think I would let you wander about the palace grounds unguarded?"
"Do you have me followed?" she had never noticed.
"For your safety."
"I thought this was the safest place in all of Ravka."
"I am not taking any chances with you, Alina." he replied, eyes guarded, face soft.
"Well, I've never noticed them."
"It means they are doing a good job. I would not want you to live scared, looking over your shoulder all the time."
"I might as well start now that I know."
He opened his mouth and then closed it, thumb rubbing the back of her hand. Alina wondered if he noticed what he was doing.
"You are right." he stepped closer, pulling a leaf off her hair. "But you need not fear, especially while I am on the palace grounds."
"Because not even the dumbest drüskelle would dare to cross paths with you?"
"Nor would the boldest noble."
Alina frowned. The nobles of Os Alta?
She nodded slowly.
"I have scared you." he stated, studying her face. "I apologize."
"No, no." she let go of his hand. "You just made me wearier."
"That is just how life at court is." he offered, not unkindly. "This is not just an army sometimes, especially for you and I."
Alina looked at him, questioning.
"There is no one else like us, Alina." he said, approaching her once more. The calmness, the facts were gone, replaced by a fire she wanted to step into. The vehemence in his voice made her shiver and want to take refuge in his cloak. "There never will be."
She thought about it. What exactly did he mean by that?
He reached out again and plucked another leaf from her hair, then took her face in his hands. She tilted her head up, desperate for a look into those eyes.
Her heart drummed on her ribcage, wanting to break free.
"I-" words failed her as he studied her face, like she was something unique he wanted to memorize.
His thumb ran over her lips, and she exhaled heavily at the feel.
"I forgot what I came here to tell you." he whispered in confidence, his eyes on her parted lips.
"I don't care."
One of his hands left her face and wrapped around her waist, pressing her against his hard chest. Alina almost gasped, hands coming up to rest on his shoulders. He pressed his forehead against hers and closed his eyes, hiding the conflict she had briefly witnessed there.
Alina made a choice.
She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his.
He reciprocated immediately, holding her tighter and pushing his tongue inside her mouth, demanding a dominance she was more than willing to give him.
She had been kissed, but never like this. It was a first kiss that felt like the last; its intensity so beautifully crushing and chaotic. It was like he was a missing part of her, long searched for and finally found. It was like she was the most precious, addictive treasure, something to be cherished and corrupted at the same time.
Alina was willing to let him do as he wanted with her.
Her hands pulled at his hair, earning a growl. Their eyes met briefly, the desire in them fighting to see whose was grander, before kissing again.
It was like he wanted to pull her closer still, the barrier of clothes too much. Something told Alina that the lack of them wouldn't satisfy either of them anyways.
He kissed her jaw, travelling his way up to her earlobe.
"You make me weak." he whispered harshly, only to proceed to ravish the parts of her neck that were exposed.
"You make me strong." she answered, craning her neck to give him better access.
Growling, he gave her ass a hard squeeze and pushed her back against a tree. She could feel the tug and crunches of the leaves as he buried his hands in her hair but didn't care.
She wanted more.
And more.
She drew his lips back to hers. He reached for the belt which held her kefta closed.
"Sir!"
The next thing Alina knew was that she was standing against a tree, her back aching and her body cold, yet her face hot.
She looked at The Darkling, who seemed almost unperturbed as he smoothly fixed his hair and clothes, standing at a respectable distance from her.
Ivan appeared, seeming to be in a hurry.
Alina narrowed her eyes at him. As if she didn't dislike him enough already, the little shit.
"Moi Soverennyi, you are needed in the king's counsel immediately."
"Tell that grump I shall be there shortly."
Ivan bowed and left, not even acknowledging Alina's presence.
The Darkling cleared his throat. She turned her dark gaze on him, cheeks burning against the cold air, lips probably bruised.
What had just happened?
She wasn't sure, but she wanted to do it again. The Darkling, on the other hand, remained stoic as he stared into her eyes, as if nothing had occurred between them.
"I understand that you have been training on your own;" he said, as if he were talking to any other grisha, ever polite and smooth, voice reassuring yet commanding." I shall speak to Baghra so you may return to your lessons."
"But I don't wann-"
With him gone, the early winter sun felt cold.
"Miss Starkov." he bowed to her respectfully and marched away, disappearing from view within seconds.

Thank you for ur answer earlier! It's crystal clear owo)👌 then, may i request jack jamil and kalim with dancing+bonfire? Thank you in advance! Have a good day/night and don't forget to stay hydrated! 🌸
Of course! (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡ I'm really sorry it took so long to get these posted, but I tried to make up for it by putting more effort into the writing. Make sure to get at least a bit of sunlight today if you can🧡
Characters: Jack, Jamil, Kalim
Items: Dancing, Bonfire
Jack Howl
Jack decided to join you tonight, since you invited him to the bonfire earlier in the day. It was almost seven thirty by the time you got the bonfire actually going, and you were beginning to think Jack wouldn't want to stay.
"Alrighty then, Jack-A-Boy, let's get to our late night gab session." You threw yourself into the chair sat next to Jack's, leaning over the edge expectantly.
His ears flattened, "Don't you have any activities planned? Usually you'd want to set off a fountain candle or two, and you didn't bring any snacks-"
You leaned over, tipping the chair on its side where the two left feet lifted above the ground. You pushed your index finger to his lips, shushing him.
"It is autumn, and we are going to be festive without fountain candles. This is what normal people do, Jackie, they sit and watch the fire- oh my gosh are we old people now?"
Honestly, Jack felt lost. Maybe he was overthinking things, but you didn't hang out one-on-one with him very often, and if you did, Grimm was always there. This time it was just the two of you.
You sat quietly for a few minutes, may ten, just enjoying the crackling heat in the cool of autumn. Every once in a while, you'd feel Jack's gaze on you, and finally, you caught him.
"Are you... nervous? Is the Jack Howl nervous to be alone out here with me? A magic-less human? HaH! I laugh in the face of your untimely jitters!" He watched as you laughed in your seat, a light heat washing over his face.
Of course he was nervous! He didn't show it often, but he really liked hanging out with you! He didn't want you to know that though because then he would lose his cool-guy bad-boy vibe.
He'd be reduced to a puppy dog if he let on that he enjoyed being around you. And not only that, but your personalities were vastly different.
Jack was ripped from his thoughts when you stood up and grabbed his hands in yours.
You pulled him from his seat and lead him closer to the fire.
"Come on, let's dance! I know this one dance that we did every year at the festivals back home." Jack tugged against you, albeit flustered from the contact.
"Uhm, no, I don't dance." His hand flew up to the back of his neck at his hairline, and you could see the embarrassment in his furrowed eyebrows.
You hummed quietly, nodding in understanding.
"Fine, I'll show you this dance tonight, and if you can't perform it perfectly byyy... tomorrow- I'll just have to find some collateral for payback." You were obviously joking, but he looked visibly distraught by your words.
You only dismissed his expression before starting your dance.
You weren't the smoothest at dancing, and you were stiffer than you should've been, but you knew this dance well.
Your movements were quick and deliberate, sweeping in directions like a gust of wind. Every so often, you'd catch a glimpse of Jack staring at you with large eyes.
His ears were straight up and his tail was wagging so quickly it was only a blur of grey.
You soon finished swaying around, pausing for a moment to catch your breath before grinning at Jack.
"Dancing is pretty cool, y'know, so I hope you'll dance with me some other time." You gazed down at Jack as he sat there quiet.
He didn't speak, and it caused your smile to falter.
"That was- wow, I've never seen anyone dance like that before." His face was burning and his tail had slowed to a wave.
Your smile returned. You laughed loudly, wiping the sweat from nerves and the heat off hour forehead.
"Phew, I thought you didn't like it for a moment there."
Jack jumped up, "No-!" He yelped, "it was great!"
His outburst startled you, and your eyes widened when his hands lightly grasped yours. He wasn't usually like this, and it made you chuckle.
"Could you teach me to dance like that?"
"Of course."
Jamil Viper
Jamil was suprised by the temperature of the air around your dorm.
"Is it usually this cold?"
"No," you threw a bundle of sticks on the formation of branches, "its autumn now so its beginning to cool down some. Its definitely colder than Scarabia though."
Jamil joined you tonight because you invited him to a good old fashioned autumn bonfire, which he's never been a part of.
You remember freaking out when he told you he'd never been to a bonfire before, and you knew that you'd have to invite him to on that exact night.
Sure you didn't plan on having one this night, but the absence of a bonfire in Jamil's memories just drove your determination.
"And it's just a large fire?"
"Yea, it's pretty cool. You'll see the appeal."
He nodded with his fist on his chin, scanning the surrounding area. He stood there awkwardly as you finally lit the brambles on fire, standing in front of the flames with your arms in the air.
"Hell yea, warmth."
You sat down on a fold-out chair you brought our earlier, patting the seat next to it for Jamil.
He sat down, staring at the fire. He was used to heat and fires like this one, but he'd never been in crisp air while a fire was going. It was a bit odd, but he liked the feeling of autumn. Maybe not more than the temperatures and winds of Scarabia or the Hot Sands, but he could see himself sitting here often.
"Oooh, Jamil, you dance, yes?"
He nodded, turning his head towards you.
When you met his eye, you began to think maybe you shouldn't ask him to dance. Your face began to tingle and you sunk in your chair.
"Why?"
You wrung your hands together, "ah, well, it's nothing, nevermind."
He sat quiet for a moment before standing up.
"I can dance for you, if that's what you want." He had a small smile on his face as he stood up and stretched his back muscles.
You panicked slightly, "No, you don't really have to Jamil-!"
"Do you not like my dancing?"
"Wh- no it's not that," you threw your hands up, "I just dont want you to feel like you have to dance for me."
He chuckled quietly at your panic.
"Its alright, I want to dance for you."
And he did.
He danced for what seemed like only a few moments, but was really about half an hour. Even in that time frame, he never once faltered, never once seemed tired or out of stamina.
He was so fluid, moving as if he were water in the wind. He was elegant, beautiful, gorgeous.
When he was finished, he swung to a stop, a large grin on his face. The largest smile you've ever seen him bare.
You were up in a second, glomping him in glee.
"Jamil, you were amazing! Oh my gosh, you were gorgeous!!" He chuckled while you peppered him with compliments.
When he brought his eyes back up to yours, his breathing hitched quietly.
The look in your eyes.
Not lust or hunger, not an emotion that was anything derogatory.
Just pure, utter, true love.
Your lips curved up and you chuckled quietly.
"Jeez, are you gorgeous." You whispered, gently bonking your head on his chest.
You felt his chest rise and fall steadily before his arms loosely wrapped around your back.
Kalim al Asim
"There you go, the last branch." You threw the last branch on and brushed the excess branch bits from your hands.
Kalim cheered happily, unfolding the chairs for the two of you.
Kalim was practically jumping in joy, "This is gonna be so fun!" He exclaimed.
You chuckled, "Yea."
He was always so exuberant and obnoxious, but it was just another part of his charms.
You were planning to have a bonfire by yourself, and when you mentioned it earlier today during lunch, Kalim jumped at the idea.
You couldn't just say 'nah you can't come to my bonfire in which I am the only attendee'. You weren't some monster.
So of course you invited him, and not begrudgingly, no, you were ecstatic to have him join you. He even helped build the bonfire.
"So you' ve never had a bonfire?"
"Not one like this!"
"What other kinds of bonfires are there..?"
You laughed it off, lighting the sticks ablaze.
"Burn baby, burn, said the pyromaniac!" You laughed as the flames grew.
Kalim grinned at you, moving closer to the fire to feel the heat.
"Its always hot in the Land of Hot Sands, so it's nice to feel heat while theres still the pinch of cold in the air."
It was quite relaxing. Although you liked the nip of cold, you loved the feeling of warmth just as much.
You weren't one for Scarabia heats, but a normal, balanced heat was the best for you.
Kalim swayed as he took in the heat, closing his eyes and grinning up at the night sky.
The way the light of the flames danced on his face made his dark skin light up with oranges and yellows. He looked so warm and peaceful. So happy.
When he opened his eyes and looked down at you, you averted your eyes quickly.
"I have a great idea! Lets dance!" He was already grabbing your hands before you could utter a word.
Now, before you even began to dance, you already knew Kalim was a solo dancer. Sure he would dance near others, but they were never dancing together.
He was attempting the common waltz, and although he was raised as royalty, you could tell that the fairy tale books weren't all factual.
Kalim often stepped on your feed, apologizing quickly. He bonked his head against yours a few times, and even accidentally tangled his leg with yours.
"Okay, let me lead, Kalim." You said through your laughter.
He nodded sheepishly, instead moving his hands to your shoulder and left hand. You intertwined your left hand with his, and rested your right on his waist.
You were close enough that your could feel his breath on your face.
"Okay, we'll start off slow so you can get the hang of the foot movements."
You looked down at his feet, motioning with your left foot for him to step backwards.
Your left foot went forward and his went back, then both of your right feet went outwards.
"This is the box step, the most basic form of waltz. Right foot forward."
You went around your imaginary boxes a few times before he actually began to understand the formation.
Left foot back, right foot out, right foot forward, left foot out. The dance was simple, and the box kept moving as you rotated around the bonfire in a circular motion.
He was a quick learner, and soon you found he could perform the steps without having to look at his feet.
"Y/N, I think I have a hang of it!"
You chuckled quietly, nodding, "I believe so!"
Although the box step wasn't usually performed around a bonfire, yours moved perfectly.
Now Kalim could go back to his dorm to tell Jamil about his partner dance.
"This is actually really fun." His voice had lowered to a whisper, and he was looking at you with a smile.
You smiled back, gently butting your forehead against his.
"Well yea, and it's simple too!"
The box step was a simple four-step rotation dance. Some would even call it boring if it drawled on for too long.
But the two if you continued on waltzing late into the night. You took this as time to share your thoughts and woes, held closely together, hands knitting to each other.
This was your time with Kalim. Just you, Kalim, and the autumn air.

Abandoned amusement parks are the best place for young children  (chapter 22)
Fic summary:
Techno, Tommy, Wilbur and Phil have been hanging out at the abandoned amusement park in the woods since they moved in. Techno likes knowing he's definitely alone with his brothers Tommy likes climbing on the old rides Wilbur likes having a place to play his music Phil likes spending time with his younger brothers
That is, until a group of brothers calling themselves the 'dream team' move in down the road. Will the sleepy boys give in and share the park or will they succeed in scaring the new kids off?
Chapter summary:
It's wednesday. Eret was still plauging on their mind's and yet they still had to meet up with the Dream Team
Chapter word count: 2123
AO3
Something just.. wasn’t right.
They had shown up invited this time, had made extra sure they weren’t being threatening (he hadn’t even brought his nerf guns!) and had watched multiple videos on how you're supposed to treat your friends and still, the ‘sleepy bois’ were acting like they didn’t want to be here.
Or maybe it was like 2/4 of the brothers who didn't want to be there. Techno and Wilbur were both acting off, very off. For a while, Dream had panicked that this may have been their fault, that he or his brothers may have done something unintentionally horrible enough to completely destroy the only sembilience of trust they had - but the more he watched them, they seemed more sad than angry, more hurt than annoyed.
The first warning sign had been Wilbur snapping at Dream.
===
While watching Techno play some game about farming on his DS, Wilbur sat braiding a section of his hair. Recently he had been trying to learn from both Niki and various youtube tutorials, the action of doing someone’s hair was strangely relaxing and it often left him a little upset at the fact that he had no sisters. What he did have instead was Techno and -in his opinion- Techno’s hair was far prettier than any of the girl’s in their class.
Braiding got hard and confusing but it calmed him down, the repetitive action felt similar to how he felt while clicking on a fidget toy but slower. It kept his hands busy but he had to keep his mind active to make sure he was keeping it aesthetically pleasing, it was really just a nice way to wind down. Plus! Techno liked it too!
The events of earlier that day still plagued his mind. It hurt so incredibly much to try and accept that someone he had trusted so much would betray them so easily. Was Eret ever their friend? Was it a joke from the beginning? Would there ever be anyone who would want to actually be their friend? It sure as hell didn’t feel like it. Everybody would always say they loved them then leave, just like Eret, just like their parents.
Being with his brother helped though, it reminded him that, despite everything, he had three people who were always going to love him and have his back.
Tommy was always going to be chaotically positive. Phil was always going to be strangely parental. Techno was always going to be his best friend.
As much as he believed that blood was thicker than water, the human body couldn’t survive on it’s blood alone, it needed water too. He had his brothers but friends like Niki were unfortunately far too rare.
The comfort of being alone with his brother was quickly cut short as Dream had approached, clad in a green hoodie and a new mask. It looked hand made, like they had paper mached it around a balloon and drew on the face with a sharpie, there were also a couple stickers stuck to it but they were pretty small and looked like they were from shows that Wilbur hadn’t watched. Still though, he looked happier than the last time they saw him (that wasn’t hard to do though, he had his mask this time.)
“Hey guys” The boy had hummed as he sat down near the twins, pulling his knees up on the bench and holding them close to his chest. “Why’re you alone? We were going to play bulldog in the forest if you want to join in”
Wilbur just stared back at him, talking felt like such a hassle right now, he didn’t even want to deal with it. It was just so exhausting.
“Uhm...so you don’t wanna talk.. That’s fine uh” Dream had spluttered out, clearly not expecting such a non-response from Wilbur who was usually the most eloquent one out of the four brothers. “That’s fine, that’s cool. You don’t need to talk if you dont wanna!”
Wilbur almost felt bad. Almost. It was clear that Dream was making an effort, it was clear he was trying his best, if this had been when they first met Dream would have likely made fun of him for not talking but he had learnt from spending so much time with them that sometimes people just didn’t want to talk. As nice as it was to know he was trying to be helpful, Wilbur really just did not want to talk to anyone right now. In all honesty, he didn’t even want to talk to Techno. All he wanted was to sit silently and braid his brother’s hair.
“So uh” Dream cleared his throat, looking to Techno this time when he finally accepted Wilbur wouldn't be communicating with him. “Do you two wanna play bulldog with us? Phil and Tommy are gonna play”
Techno took one look at Wilbur and shook his head. Personally, he wouldn’t mind playing with them, making some new friends might be nice after everything that had just happened but Wilbur was just very clearly not up for talking to anyone.
Sometimes people were upset, sometimes you just needed some time to strop and get out all the negative emotions. Techno wasn’t in any position to tell Wilbur he couldn’t feel the way he felt.
“Oh? Do you want us to wait until you’re finished with your DS? What’re you playin’?”
Shuffling over on the bench, Dream tried to take a peek at the game, seeing Techno tapping quickly on different buttons as his character farmed some crops. It didn’t look too interesting but hey! He had learnt that he shouldn’t insult people for what they enjoy.
“Jesus fucking Christ Dream!” Wilbur finally snapped, pushing the boy away roughly. Maybe he was being a bit short-tempered and mean, maybe they had specifically set up this day so they wouldn’t end up fighting but god dammit Wilbur was upset and he was absolutely ready to make that everybody else's problem.
“Just go away! We don’t want to play your stupid game!”
It was clear that Dream had been a little upset by what Wilbur had said, staggering back a little and getting up from where he had been sitting. Despite the fact that neither boy could see his face they could somehow still read his expression, maybe because he was overly expressive with his body parts to make up for the covered face.
“Oh um.. Okay I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to pressure you”
Techno sighed, giving Dream a sympathetic look as if to say sorry and then giving Wilbur a bit of a stern glance, clearly upset with his brother for getting mad like that.
Wilbur didn’t care.
Techno could furrow his brows all he wanted, Wilbur was mad.
=== The second warning was a passing comment made by Wilbur.
This time, the twins had finally decided to join in with the group, it had been right after everyone else had finished playing Bulldog so they were pretty out of breath, meaning all they were doing was sitting around talking.
Tommy was leading the conversation, hopping around and pointing to all his favourite climbing places, every now and then he’d grab someone by the hand and tug them up to show them something. It felt like he really just could not be tired out. Even so, the boy was good at reading people, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was acting extra energetic because he had noticed his big brothers being upset and wanted to give them the chance to pull back from talking if they felt like it. He was young, yes, but out of all four brothers he was probably the one who was best at understanding his own emotions.
“So over there is the big dipper!” He was jumping up and down as he pointed to a large blue drop tower that was partially under the ground. “It goes up super high but then it goes into this big pit! Sometimes I like to climb to the top and sit there!”
Phil’s eyes went wide “Tommy you what?!”
George wasn’t too interested in this explanation of the rides, if he was being honest, he was just sleepy from doing so much exercise after already walking around all day at school. The boy flopped backwards into the dirt, taking off his sunglasses and folding them besides him as he closed his eyes.
It felt nice to just lay in the sun, his brothers teased him a lot for always being so sleepy (it wasn’t uncommon that he would miss appointments or commitments because he hadn’t set an alarm) but it was just so nice and so relaxing to just ignore the outside world for a moment and think. Sometimes he felt like he’d probably be good at meditating but then again his brother’s would absolutely not leave him to chill out long enough for that.
He had been expecting to be either left alone to doze off in the sun, or for one of his brother’s to tug him up and make him stay awake, what he was not expecting was for Wilbur and Techno to join him in laying down.
“The sun is nice today” Techno had mumbled as he closed his eyes, clearly getting a little more comfortable with the boys than he had been previously.
Understandably, George was shocked to hear him talking but he decided that maybe it would help if he didn’t bring attention to it and make it a big deal, he knew Dream was only able to show his face in their house if everyone made sure not to comment on his birthmark, if they did the mask was always brought back out.
“Yeah..it’s nice but it makes me tired.”
Wilbur nodded,George was right a lot of the time; it felt light and warm, unlike the humid air that had caused him to snap earlier. Honestly he felt a little bad about it, he had obviously hurt Dream and he didn’t even apologise. Phil would surely be disappointed in him if he heard about what happened.
“I don't understand why you guys are trying to be our friends” Wilbur confessed, scooching up a little closer to Techno so he could hold his hand. “I understand liking Phil and Tommy but why us? Nobody likes us. Sometimes I wish you would stop trying, I already know how this is gonna end”
Wilbur rubbed at his eyes with his free hand but it wasn’t like the other two could tell since they had their eyes closed thankfully. George wanted to object, to tell them that they did like them and that this wasn’t going to end how he thought it would but he couldn’t bring himself to say it. He didn’t know what Wil meant when he said how it would end and it wasn’t like he could just tell them they were wrong about their previous experiences with people. He ended up pondering what he could say for so long that by the time he had a plan laid out in his mind it had been too long to reply and he had already unknowingly made the decision to just stay quiet.
Dream had heard him though. Dream had seen him rubbing at his eyes. Dream had noticed how he held onto Techno before talking about it.
Something was definitely wrong.
===
Eventually Dream decided that enough was enough.
Today was the day when they would finally talk it out, there should be no upset, no turmoil, no arguments, and yet here they were, upset.
At first, he had been tempted to just call them out in front of everyone but under better thought he realised that was most likely a very very bad idea. He wanted to help, not make things worse.
Instead, he just waited for Tommy to drag his brothers and Phil over to the ‘white house’, saying he had to show them around. It seemed like Techno and Wilbur were planning on staying back so really it was the perfect time to talk to them about it.
Once everyone else had left and was out of ear-shot, Dream made his way back over to the boys, absolutely ready to get yelled at again (which really he didn’t mind if it helped Wilbur feel better). This time though, he didn’t sit down; he just stood in front of them and crossed his arms, wanting them to know he was being serious.
“Wilbur. You’re obviously upset, okay? I understand if you’re mad we’re in your park and we’ll leave if you want us to but can you please just talk to us first?”
Wilbur sighed and rested his head on Techno’s shoulder.
Something wasn't right.

Quick first thoughts on the first ep of the Hypmic Anime. Spoilers beware (and im writing this as I watch so :p)
Otome’s speech is.... questionable from a persuasive point of view. Manga did a great job of introducing her (which you can read here) but they really cut out the more terrifying parts of her speech and how she uses force to show people that she's not to be messed with
Its cool seeing everyone in their respective environments though. thats cool. Though they could have added Sasara and Kuuko (shhh i know why they didn’t let me dream)
I love how poppy the typography is. Its amazing how the visuals just leap out at you. The OP does a great job of this. The first few seconds before the title really gives me Persona 4 OG OP vibes with the influx of information given. The rest is a clear concise and streamlined way that still gives character. Animation is sparse but still carries across a general idea of each character and shows off each character object. Rendering is really nice and pays a bit of homage to the posing artwork thats done for the MVs. They also do their division hand signals and thats cute
Love how the OP has blatant HifuDoppo and DRB matchup foreshadowing
so far I really like what theyre going for. BB is about brotherly familial bonds and they show the goods and the bads. Jiro and Saburo bickering right out the gate really cements the fact that they get along like cats and dogs but you can still see that they love each other, working together when the situation calls for it
Now the 3d models. Theyre... not great but usable if you don’t look too hard. They serve their purpose and don’t actively detract from the viewing experience.
Visual typography in the rap itself are fun and poppy but they dont.... speak to me? like theyre there yes and I appreciate them but the only ones that got me excited were from Ichiro’s rap
I take my words back the group portion was kickass and I apologize
I love how they interpret the Hypnosis Speakers though. Esp. Saburo’s organs. That was super creative and I love it! If there was one thing that I felt was missing from the franchise was a deeper exploration of the speakers but the anime puts a new and fresh spin on it! Love it, especially with their attack patterns!
If the production team ever feels inclined to, Id love to see those info sheets on Otome’s desk released. There seems to be very interesting info and stats written out about each member (like capabilities, personal status etc.) They all seem unique too so I really really really hope they release images of those sheets
OOOOOOOOKAY MTC. I have such a big biased for them so Im very torn to see what unfolds
Rio striking out on his own is interesting. Out of everyone in MTC hes the biggest team player yet here he trusts his teammates to go ahead. This either displays Rio’s willingness to trust his teammates or it becomes very OOC if the anime wants to set him up as a lone wolf like character
I love how they specify its a drug deal. It means that Jyuto surely will show up and it also shows that Samatoki knows Jyuto’s motives and willingly gives black market info that he knows aligns with Jyuto’s goal. Thats A+ detail writing there and a great establishing characteristic for both of them
OOohhhhhhhhhhhhh man Asunama-san’s voice acting is god tier his work as Samatoki is phenomenal. He pulls of Samatoki’s threatening voice so well with those almost calm words before his voice becomes loud and confrontational. Those rolling syllables in contrast to Komada-san’s almost lyrical and airy speech and Kamio-san’s strict and enunciated words is such a delight to hear. It just speaks to how amazing and great these Seiyuu’s are in order to pull of such amazing work
Im so biased but MTC has such a better rap than BB im so sorry. Just by watching Samatoki’s part, the imagery is amazing. Even the arrival of his Hypnosis Speaker was awesome and sent a shiver down my spine. using the lyrics to form blades and blood was such a great thing to do. Theres so much more variety that just him standing there and shots of his hypnosis speaker. The old fashioned vignette shots, the four panel spread, the nods to old Kurosawa era films are great and I love these small details. Even the typography looks better.
Again, the interpretations with the speakers is fresh and new. Its great and I love the different imagery and attack patterns. Each one is so unique but carries across each different style of rap.
The 3d modles aren’t any better tho lol
(Hi this is Astro who is reading over their assessment again and making a note. Yeah I’m a bit harsh on BB’s rap. I’m not going to change it since I still stand by it and this post is supposed to be a documentation of my first impressions. I think one of the reasons why I’m so harsh on BB is because of their dynamic as a trio of brothers. They Have to have a more uniform approach than the other divisions. Which in of itself isn’t a terrible thing, it just doesn’t catch my eye as much as MTC did. Thats all! I definitely don’t hate BB, they’re maybe my 3rd favorite division out of the current lineup [not including TDD era teams like Kujaku Posse, MCD, and Naughty Busters] its just that their rap was pretty meh)
Samatoki crouching like a real gangstar and the cigarette kiss killed me
sadjkhfjkasdghsadjkcsdjhsdfsjhf im dying i love these trio of dumbasses so uch oh y fod someone save me aaaaaaaa (Astro note here! yeah i died when the jyuto and samatoki’s stomach growled im weak please. Samatoki’s face is just so precious and funny I might set it as a profile pic somewhere)
But also my initial assessment of Rio possibly being characterized as a lone wolf is very much jossed and im very thankful for that. It seems that Rio was simply trusting his teammates to carry out their part of the plan while he carried out his own. I like that, it really shows how much of a team these three are and that they genuinely trust each other. He’s also comfortable enough around them to invite them to dinners after work casually and not just for special occasions.
I really love MTC guys
Oooh! we get Ramuda on his design process which is really cute. the inside of his studio is super cute and retro and i love it. the poppy old music you would hear in a cafe or 90′s resturaunt is also really cute (astro note: yeah i know that in ARB you see the interior of Ramuda’s office but its kinda different seeing it animated)
the translation i have has gentaro speaking in early modern english (Shakespearian english for those who aren’t english nerds like me) but from what I can hear, he doesn’t speak in a particularly old fashioned way? Its more formal than old? and hes speaking without any of his character persona lying thing that he likes to do (as he refers to himself as “Shousei” throughout the segment where hes in Ramuda’s office which is kind of his default pronoun of choice). so its kinda odd for the translation to go in that direction but im not complaining
Gendice banter is gold but it feels... flat? a little? it doesn’t have the same impact as in the drama cds or in the manga? i feel? Also Ramuda using gratuitous english is??? idk how to feel about that
kjshf thats against the rules Ramuda omgggg,,,,,,,, (astro note again: while watching i was under the assumption that using your hypmic for monetary gain such a as buskering [which is what FP is doing] is against the rules. May not be the case but whatever)
FP’s rap might be my favorite in terms of tune and lyrics though. It’s a nice laid back bop and really gives of chill vibes. the integration of 3d and 2d is really nice and i love how they play off each other in the rap. The wordplay is so fun with little nods here and there and the beat is poppy too so it really energizes me.
Ramuda’s rap concerns me slightly since he makes very subtle and small nods towards his past (being created in a laboratory, warfare, and his overall very unpleasant life experiences) but spins it into something cutesy. It could be a coping mechanism, it could be me overthinking it. But it does make me worry a bit. Gentaro and Dice’s rap really play off each other with Gentaro sticking to stories and Dice taking up the baton by carrying on that same imagery but putting his own spin on it.
the self awareness of how scattered they are as a team is interesting though. It doesn’t seem like something you’d speak about in a rap? but i guess since its not really a do or die situation they can afford to be looser on things like this.
Right off the bat, i don’t like how they handled Hifumi and Doppo in relation to Hifumi’s fear of women. Slug made a post once talking about this and I echo many of his sentiments. Hypmic has never been very tactful about tackling this particular issue and while I didn’t have high hopes that the anime would be any better it hurts to see Doppo take away the one thing that allows Hifumi to function within society.
Doppo’s breakdown mirrors a lot of my own mental state when I spiral though its shown a lot quicker than what happens to me oof. that hits close to home. though Jakurai’s advice is. Questionable. Its not the best advice to give to someone but we have no idea what kind of doctor Jakurai is so ill let it slide
Jakurai’s pose looks like hes going to do a mahou shoujou transformation lmao
I don’t have many thoughts about the rap though again. How they visualize the rap is interesting. the different imagery is quite interesting for each of them and the typography is nice a distinct but im still on the fence about the visuals here
The sound is in the same boat. The sound effects either drown out the rap or are too quet but some parts are nice at least. When they talk about Tokyo’s beating heart, the heartbeat sound is a but distracting especially since its only played once. But the imagery is at least nice
I wonder if for the eds they’re going to take a similar approach to what Enstars did and have a four different endings, one for each division. I love the blend of styles here and it really accentuates that although they’re different they mesh well together.
Ramuda’s silhouette though is hilarious. Love it.
:p and thats it. Uh not bad for a first episode. Established all 12 characters really nicely and their dynamics. I had some problems with it but then again nothing is perfect. I look forward to what they show us next week

Previous Chapter - Next Chapter
After Poe left, you didn’t waste much time. You allowed yourself a few minutes to cry, but quickly wiped your face clean. The Resistance had found you, which meant that your location was no longer safe. Looks like you wouldn’t be able to sell those scraps after all.
You pulled out the scrap of paper that you had kept in your pocket since leaving the Gungan Underworld. It had a list of planets, some crossed off, with the words, “Not Safe,” written next to them. You quickly jotted down another “Not Safe” next to Taris and scratched it off.
You finished packing your few things and tried to keep your eyes from traveling to the slight indent in your bed where Poe had slept.
It was still dark out when you left the room. Of course, on Taris that didn’t exactly matter. There were still people creeping around every corner of the poorly lit street, but you kept your bearings. When you left Naboo, Jobee Qod had lent you an old ship. He said that the Gungans didn’t get much use of out it, and when he led you to it, you saw that he was right.
The old ship was rusting in more spots than it wasn’t, and when it reached lightspeed it made an awful humming noise, but it worked. It was the kind of piece of junk you only look at once, and wish that you hadn’t seen, which made it the perfect ship for your travels. You had to get some repairs on it when you landed on Felucia, which unfortunately cut your stay there shorter, but other than that, the old clunker had proved useful for you.
When you landed on Taris, you gave up most of the credits you had stashed away to store it in an old hangar. As you approached the shop, it was clear the owner wasn’t home. For a second you thought about hanging around to wait for day to hit and the shop to open, but then you remembered your dreams. Yes, the Resistance had found you, but you figured they would when you sent out your transmission. You could handle the Resistance. But if the First Order were to find you, which was likely, given the dream you had last night, there was no chance for you to escape. Not when you were as alone as you were.
Waiting simply wasn’t an option.
You snuck around the back of the building, although you weren’t sure it would matter. There were people milling about the street, but they were all focused on their own business. They were probably just as hopeful as you were that no one was watching what they were doing.
At the rear of the shop there were two large windows and a back door. Hoping for luck that never seemed to find you, you tried the door first. Locked. And when you tried the windows, too, you found they were also locked.
“Damn it,” you muttered. You took another look around you. No one was watching you. You had tried to remain as harmless as possible on your mission to disappear, but you had to do some things that were quite unbecoming of a queen, even if you weren’t eager to do so. Right now, you had to make another choice to get off of Taris.
With your elbow, you broke the glass of the large window. Break-ins were common in this part of the planet, so no one really invested in high quality security systems, or even higher strength glass. There wasn’t anything worth saving down here.
Your ship rattled as you started it up, but it still started. You threw your things in the back and took a few breaths. Usually when you had to fly you thought of Poe. Poe could fly anything, and always made it look simple, so you would try to embody his cool demeanor when you took flight. But after everything that had happened, you had to actively stop yourself from thinking about him. And the memories that did appear weren’t happy ones.
“There’s no time for that,” you said to yourself, hoping that hearing the sound of your own voice would break you from your thoughts, “I only need to focus on leaving.”
The next planet on your list was Arvala-7. It was quite a ways away, but from the way a man on Felucia had descried it to you, it was one of the perfect places in the galaxy to completely disappear. There were lots of people there, he had explained, but they’re just as eager as you to stay hidden.
You hadn’t trusted the man not to follow you directly to Arvala-7, so when you left Felucia, you decided to journey to Taris instead. But you were running out of leads now, and Arvala-7 seemed like a perfect location to get away for a while, at least to make plans of a more permanent location for you.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Thank you, you’re very kind.”
“I wouldn’t call it kind, missy, I’m expecting hard work out of you. Just because I’m letting you stay with us, doesn’t mean you won’t have to earn your keep.” You nodded your head and followed behind Marsa, a woman you had met on the outpost you had arrived at on Arvala-7. She could see you looking around, trying to find your way, and assumed you were looking for a place to get away. She offered you one right away. Said that she employed all kinds of drifters, as long as they worked hard.
You weren’t even sure what kind of work Marsa was in, you were just glad for a place to stay. She even had a field where you could keep your little ship, that after this last trip, seemed to be on its last leg. You wouldn’t be comfortable taking it back into space without getting some repairs done, which wouldn’t happen without getting some real money.
Marsa lived three hours away from the outpost. It was true that she must scavenge for workers there because she had absolutely no other business besides picking you up. It was as if she was waiting for you. You flew behind her, taking in the scenery as you made your way to her farm. You were hoping to recognize landmarks so that if things took a turn for the worst, you could find your way back, but it was just a vast expanse of nothing. Sand for miles and miles.
Hopefully, you wouldn’t need to make a quick leave.
Within a week of staying at Marsa’s house, you felt comfortable that you wouldn’t need to make a quick getaway. Besides Marsa, her wife and two daughters, the ranch you stayed on was quiet. Marsa and her family only talked to you when they had work for you to do. It was a regular routine you could throw yourself into.
You woke up at first light in the day and helped Marsa and a few of her ranch hands round up the blurrgs. Once they were corralled, you assisted in equipping them for agricultural labor. Whatever needed done on the ranch, as long as it was too big for you and the ranch hands to handle, the blurrgs were able to do. This left you with room for other jobs, which meant that Marsa sent you on nearly every errand she needed.
You were skeptical at first to travel in and around town for her, but eventually the boredom you felt on the ranch persuaded you to leave. The town was nearly as quiet the ranch. No one seemed to notice that you weren’t from around there, and if they did, they didn’t ask about it.
Everything was simple on Arvala-7, which is exactly as you wanted it. You needed to get away from all of the stress you had been living with for the last two years, and this was the perfect location. When you were doing chores for Marsa, it was easier to forget about all you left. And with the location you had chosen, you were almost certain that the First Order would ever find you here. The planet was far too remote and seemingly unimportant for their efforts, and even if they did show up, the chances of them finding you on the ranch were slim to none.
Everything was working out the way you had hoped on Arvala-7, until Khwaabi arrived.
Khwaabi was a man, around the same age as you, in a similar position as you. Marsa invited you into town with her one day, stating that she needed an extra hand to carry back everything she needed to pick up, although you suspected she was just lonely as her wife was visiting her family off-planet. Inexplicably, Marsa decided to make a detour to the outpost in town. When you questioned her about it, she just waved her hand at you and told you that she had a feeling. As you walked in with her, you surveyed the room nervously. In groups like these, there were often First Order patrols. But you also suspected that the reason Marsa had decided to come into the outpost was to keep an eye out for other lost souls like you, in the hopes of bringing them onto her ranch as well.
When you saw Khwaabi, you only had to look at him for a second to know Marsa would invite him to the ranch. He had that same lost look in his eyes that you must have had when you arrived on Arvala-7. She approached him and all too soon, he agreed to come back to the ranch with the two of you.
Although he was in the same position as you, Khwaabi was much different than you. He was an open book. Just on the ride back to Marsa’s ranch, you learned that he was from Kashyyyk. And unlike you, he told you exactly why he had left. Khwaabi had fallen in love with a boy, Leoro. But his father hadn’t approved of Khwaabi, so he decided to leave Kashyyyk to make a life that Leoro’s family would be proud of.
He was easy to read which made him an easy friend. There weren’t any secrets about him, which meant that you could trust him with yours. Although, you never did. You were nearly positive that Khwaabi could be trusted, but you had been burned before. And talking about everything that had happened seemed daunting and pointless. Whenever he tried to get any information out of you, you simply changed the subject back to Leoro and he forgot everything else.
About a month into knowing Khwaabi, a breaking point came where you could no longer hide your past. It had become a fun game for him and the other ranch hands, guessing wildly about where you had come from. They came up with tales of pirating and espionage, one even guessed that you were an empress on the run from your kingdom, but you never gave in. You just laughed at their guesses and tucked in early for the night.
But one day, you couldn’t run anymore.
Marsa sent you and Khwaabi into the marketplace for a few supplies, where you met your past face to face. Although you had suspected that Arvala-7 was safe, you knew that nowhere was truly safe from the First Order. There had been a few patrols through the town, but Marsa had made her business from drifters, and she knew to turn around when she saw them, in order to keep her workers safe. Only this time, Marsa wasn’t with you, and the patrol had blocked off the major exits from the marketplace. The only way out was through their checkpoint.
“What are you doing?” Khwaabi asked as you stopped suddenly, grabbing onto his forearm. He followed your petrified gaze to the marketplace entrance and laughed softly. “Come on, they’re just making sure we aren’t stealing or speaking ill of the First Order, we’ll be fine.” He tried to keep moving, even pulling you along gently, but when you remained planted to the dirt he paused. “Y/N? What is it?”
“I can’t be seen by them,” you said quietly. A million questions raced through Khwaabi’s mind, but he knew he couldn’t ask them now. He looped his arm around yours and pulled you to the opposite end of the market, behind a stall that was selling dark purple fruit.
“What’s going on?” he asked. He was often joking and smiling, but he was serious now, more serious than you had ever seen him before. You were grateful for it.
“I can’t be seen by them.”
“Why? We’ve got nothing to hide,” he said simply. You let out a deep sigh and looked up into his kind, golden eyes. “Does this have something to do with your mysterious pirating past?” he asked, garnering a gentle laugh from you.
“Not exactly pirating, but yeah,” you said reluctantly. “If they see me, I’m as good as dead. I’m on the run from the First Order, and the Resistance,” you added after a pause. Khwaabi’s eyes were wide but he only nodded, his long dark braids bouncing easily.
“Alright. I can get us out of here, but you have to promise you’ll finally tell me about your past. Once we’re safe and all.” You rolled your eyes but nodded.
“I promise.”
“Great. There’s a fence behind that shop down there,” he said, pointing to a small building a couple feet down. Easy enough to hop, just have to make sure no one’s watching. And then we’ll have to run.”
“Run?”
“Well, the First Order ships are parked on that side of the marketplace. If any of them see us we’re as good as dead, so we better make quick work of it.”
“This wouldn’t be the first time running for my life, I’m sure I’ll be fine,” you said. Khwaabi smiled at you widely.
“I’m very much looking forward to hearing your story, Y/N. Let’s go.”
You made your way down to the shop and Khwaabi helped you over the fence. He was right, the First Order ships weren’t far off. The second he dropped down next to you, the two of you ran and didn’t stop until you got back to Marsa’s place. She gave you each a questioning eyebrow, but went back into her house a moment later.
“Alright, pirate, now it’s time for your story.”
“Let’s get some water first,” you said breathlessly. Khwaabi nodded his head and followed you into your quarters. Once you had each caught your breath, you began telling Khwaabi the long-winded story of your life, up until the horrendous meeting you had with Poe back on Taris. Khwaabi didn’t speak or move for a while, but when he finally did stand, he picked up the pillow at the end of your tiny bed and hit you over the head with it.
“Ow! What the hell was that for?”
“Because I would kill to live your life, Y/N! You’re a princess!”
“A queen,” you muttered quietly, trying not to interrupt his rant.
“You have love! The only thing standing in your way is you!”
“That’s not true, there are my parents, the First Order—”
“You’re just making excuses, Y/N,” he said, sitting down across from you. “You could make a real change. The only reason the Resistance and the First Order are looking for you is because you can make a difference, and you’re running away because you’re scared.”
“I’m so sick of people saying that!” you said, standing up and beginning to pace. “I’m not scared, I’m just thinking practically. I can see where this all is going to go.”
“I think you’re just being paranoid. You have an entire family within the Resistance ready to fight next to you and keep you safe,” he said. You sighed and looked away from him. “Look, I only just heard your story, so maybe I don’t know everything, but it sounds like you ran away instead of fighting.”
“Isn’t that what you did? When you left Kashyyyk?” you asked, turning to look back at him. He frowned at you.
“Not at all. I am fighting. I’m fighting to make my life better so that I am deserving of Leoro. Once I reach that goal, I’ll go back. Are you really telling me you’re going to run forever?”
“I don’t have a choice,” you said.
“You could go back and fight. Fight for your home and your love and your life.”
“You know, I think you’d fit in really well with the Resistance. They all really like giving long, inspirational speeches,” you said. He laughed and nodded his head.
“Maybe I can check it out with you.”
“I can’t go back now. Not after everything I said to Poe,” you said, shaking your head.
“No, you can’t go back now. Not with nothing,” Khwaabi said. You raised an eyebrow at him.
“And what exactly am I supposed to go back with?”
“I don’t know. Like I said, I just learned your story. But I’m sure you’ll figure out what you can do to fix all of this mess with the First Order and the Resistance and your husband,” he said, looking at you with kind eyes. You couldn’t hold his gaze for long and looked away, nodding your head gently.
“Thank you, Khwaabi. For getting me out of town and for this.”
“No problem. Now, that run was exhausting, so I’m going to get some rest. If you decided to leave for the Resistance, at least wake me up before you go.”
“Will do,” you said with a laugh.

Khwaabi had really expected his talk to work, because the next day he was so surprised to see you, he nearly choked on his breakfast, and for the rest of the day he didn’t speak to you. You understood his frustrations, but he had only just heard your story. He didn’t know all the ins and outs of your situation. There was no way you could go back to the Resistance. There was too much pain there. In your head you could hear Khwaabi saying ‘There’s pain here, too,’ but you elected to ignore it.
It took a couple days, but eventually Khwaabi came back to you, acting normally. He never brought up what you told him, although sometimes when he would talk about his love for Leoro, he would give you strange looks. You realized he only did this when your mind started to wander off, but it was hard to listen to him talk about his gorgeous man, when you had once had one, too.
You figured that Khwaabi knew what he was doing, but you didn’t much care. The longer you stayed away from the Resistance, the harder it got to keep on course and remember why you left. Of course, every night you went to bed, knowing that if your dreams slipped to Ren’s again, you’d have to be on the run once more. But listening to Khwaabi talk about love and life made you feel a little bit at home, and let you remember what it was like to have those hopes.
A week after the incident in the marketplace, you and Khwaabi were back, picking up a parcel for Marsa. You had briefly told her what happened, so she had been the one to make the last few trips. She had said that the First Order was gone, but when you arrived in town, you could see they were back.
“How in the fuck?” you muttered under your breath, making Khwaabi laugh.
“That’s not how princesses should talk,” he said with a laugh.
“I’m not a princess,” you said, trying to turn around. Khwaabi grabbed your arm and kept you walking forward. “What are you doing?”
“They’re looking at us,” he said, smiling so it didn’t look like he was talking to you, “If we turn around they’ll come after us. Just keep your head down. They’re not even doing a checkpoint. We’ll be fine.”
You nodded your head and quickly took hold of his hand, holding it tight as you passed the Stormtroopers. They looked you over quickly but said nothing. You let out a sigh once you were away from them, but that moment of relief was quickly squandered when you heard a scream.
You and Khwaabi both turned around to see a young girl, no more than sixteen, on the ground. Two Stormtroopers were standing over her, mocking her. It was clear that they had just hit her, seeing the way she held her stomach. As they geared up to take another hit, Khwaabi pushed the things in his hands into yours and raced forward.
“Stop! What has this girl done?” he asked, pulling back the hand of one of the Stormtroopers.
“Keep walking,” the Stormtrooper muttered, pulling his hand away.
“She is just a girl! Surely, there is another way you can get what you need from her,” he said.
“I said, keep walking,” the Stormtrooper said, much firmer this time. Khwaabi stood his ground, and you watched, along with the group that had gathered around the commotion, as the Stormtrooper hit Khwaabi across the face.
“Come on, let’s get out of here,” the other Stormtrooper said. They marched off, and just like that, it was over. The crowd started to clear and Khwaabi helped the girl stand. You walked over to them and Khwaabi gave you a cold look.
“What did they want from you?” he asked the girl.
“I don’t know,” she said, shaking her head, “They said I gave them a disrespectful look, and then all of the sudden I was on the ground.” Khwaabi shook his head and put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
“Are you going to be alright?”
“Yeah, I think so. Thank you.”
“Forget about it. Any respectable person would have done the same.” You thought for a moment that the cold look he gave you before might have been a mistake, but it was clear from his tone, Khwaabi was furious with you, and you had no idea why.
The rest of your visit to the marketplace was silent. You passed by the same Stormtroopers on your way out, but if they recognized you or Khwaabi, they didn’t care.
“Okay, I can tell you’re mad. Can we talk about it?” you asked once you had cleared the town and were on your long walk back to Marsa’s.
“Why didn’t you step in?” he asked, looking at you with a new look in his eyes. Possibly disappointment?
“What was I supposed to do? They’re two Stormtroopers, I have no weapons—”
“Neither did I. Neither did that girl.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say. I told you, I’m running from the First Order, I’m not about to get tangled up with a couple of deadbeat Stormtroopers just because . . .”
“Just because what? Finish that sentence, Y/N. Just because an innocent girl was getting beaten? Just because your best friend now has a black eye?” he asked.
“I don’t know if I would say best friend . . .”
“Y/N!” he yelled, grabbing hold of your arms. “You can make a difference. You can help millions of people. And yet you run because you only care about yourself.”
“That’s not true,” you said, taking a step back.
“I don’t know, what I do know is that if I had the power you do, the influence you do, I wouldn’t be hiding out. I’d be facing down those bullies and sticking up for the innocent.” You looked at him with wide eyes but he only shrugged. “It’s whatever. Like you’ve said, I don’t know the whole story. Maybe hiding out here in the middle of nowhere is the best idea.”

You knew he was right. You knew Poe was right. The second you had stormed away from the Resistance, you knew you were in the wrong. Running away was the move of cowards, and you had never wanted to be one of those. It took some time for you to admit it, but you were a coward. You were completely afraid of what would happen if you did fight, if you did everything in your power to help bring peace back to the galaxy, and it was all for naught.
When you ran, you thought you were doing what was best for Poe, what was best for you. You realized now that you were punishing everyone you cared about because of a decision by your family and Broden.
When you became queen, it was because you thought you would be helping people. You knew you had done good during your term, even if the whole thing was concocted by Broden. But now, you felt that the only thing you could bring to the Resistance was your connection with Kylo Ren.
You sat up in bed immediately.
Why had you been so stupid? The connection with Ren had been the thing that caused you to become queen, and the reason you were finally able to figure out Broden’s betrayal. If there was anything else you could offer the Resistance, it was your connection with Kylo Ren.
When you rushed into Khwaabi’s room, he was already up.
“What?” he asked.
“You’re right. I’ve been selfish, but there is something I can do for the Resistance, for the galaxy, but I’m going to need your help.”
“And why should I help you?” he asked. He was teasing, but it was also clear that he was still mad about what had happened in the marketplace.
“Because if you get me to where I’m going, you can keep my ship. That’ll get you somewhere nicer than here, where you can make a life for you and Leoro.” He looked at you for a minute but then smiled.
“Alright, where are we going?”
“Kylo Ren’s fortress on Byss.”

Awhh that's sad, but yeah, I'm sure the next year will be better! Theres still time. I hope that I havent activated a disaster by saying that.
My hair gets charged (is that the right word?) very easily , probably because of my pillow so yeah my hair is always a mess until it calms down😝 Also that's cool, I dont have enough hair to braid mine<\3
I'm glad it's going well! By the way, me toooo, my underclassman (they're also the only one from their grade so I decided to talk to them) is here for a chemistry prep and they showed me one of the ninth grade things and it hurts me physically
Aww I will!! I sometimes forget I have insta until Kuro messages me, but I will keep that in mind xD you can message me anytime too!!
AWHH that seems so cool!! I really hope its going well. It's so sweet of you, I'm happy you're sharing your passion with others!!!
YES its adorable I've watched that videos for hours when I was feeling sad and it made me happy
My day just started so I'll tell u about yesterday, it was very cool, we had a kofte night? I'm not sure what the words is. Basically the teachers grilled us some meat and we made semi-sanlndwiches with them (I actually wasn't invited cuz I'm an 11th grader but like aye free food?? Heyyy😋 good thing my teachers love me). Some of us played Uno while the others decided to do something else, I dont quite remember.
What about you? How's it going for my sweetest little shortcake?😝

platonic headcanons for bb and the rest of the team bc he was alone for so long and found a new loving family and i'm emotional :')
i like how u think anon
when he’s not making fun of him for it cyborg does research and makes elaborate vegetarian meals , during which he might go “ohhhhhh this would be so much better with red meattttt” but not actually mean it. he made a special vegetarian meal for bb’s birthday and bb cried (tho he’ll deny it)
raven is like the sister who’ll smack you but also defend you to your grave. ride or die. sometimes they’ll go for walks, window shopping almost, going into weird quirky shops or magic shops. the only reason bb doesn’t get kicked out of em for causing general mayhem is because raven is such a good witch lol
if someone is being rude to bb for being,, green,, then raven Can and Will shut them up
robin teaches him magic tricks. when beast boy learned the secret about trick decks he did So Many of the same trick slightly modified to all of the titans. they humored him for like three days before robin was like “okay stop your bad presentation is wounding me i need to train you”
he acts so bad at magic tricks which is half of the trick because he gets really really good???
beast boy is a very physical person and if he had a bad day the titans will do a dog pile-esque movie watching, with bb in the middle. raven usually leans on them from the outside because she’s not a huge fan but is still a part of it.
raven is incredible at painting nails and so is starfire, but starfire gets distracted really easily and ends up spilling everything everywhere. raven used it to become more patient, controlled, and focused, and knows how to do all sorts of cool stuff. after a few days of beast boy going “i want her to do mine but i dont want to ask and also its girly” he finally asked and she painted them black and green the first time, sea greens and blues the next.
he tentatively tried a deep maroon color and felt okay, tho he’ll never do bright pinks (no matter how much it’ll match his skin tone)
he and cyborg started this thing called “bro sleepovers” that robin was invited to after the second time. robin’s presence fluctuates, but bb and cyborg play video games until early in the morning with tons of snacks, and they usually fall asleep on top of each other. the activities may vary, though.

Because so many people asked for a translation... but I can’t translate everything word by word (especially... staring at you, Subaru......) I made partly word-by-word and partly summery-translation.
This takes a lot of time >_< so please be patient for the other parts!
__
Royz History Vol. 01 (English Translation)
0.20 Royz’ Formation
Tomoya: “Kazuki and I have been in a band together and when we disbanded I talked to Kazuki and we decided to form a band that is focused on melodies.”
0.40 Koudai joins
Tomoya talks about how Koudai and a vocalist joined them and that Koudai decided on various things for example also on wanting to decide for a date for their first live and book that at a live house. But at that time something has happened between Kazuki and their vocalist, so the vocalist fired Kazuki. Tomoya: “And when we thought about what we shall do as three members, the vocalist backed out.” Koudai: “And we were like: Okay, we’re two now. There were only me and Tomoya left.” Tomoya: “We thought about what to do. There was only the rhythm-team left so how shall we give a concert like that? But since we’ve formed that band I also wanted to continue. We talked about it and decided that we want to keep on going with Royz. So we called Kazuki back!“ (You can see Kuina doing nothing but smoking a cigarette at 2.20 xD because he doesn’t have anything to say about that band period because he simply wasn’t there yet! xD)
 2.25 Subaru joins
Subaru explains how he talked to Koudai at Mixi and on the phone afterwards. Subaru tells him that there already is a member he promised to be in a band with. Tomoya (3.50): “Koudai told us that he found a good-looking vocalist at Mixi.” He says how cool it is that Koudai is a person who gets things done rather than just talk about it. Tomoya’s first impression of Subaru was really that he’s good-looking and therefore that he probably also is good at singing. “We wanted to hear him singing, so we went to Karaoke together. And I thought: “Well, it’s pretty normal!” (laughs)” Subaru’s first impression of Tomoya was that he was riding on his bike so often.
 4.30 Hoshi ni negai wo
Subaru: “I was so moved by it! I remember listening to it on the phone and wanted to record this song. […] There was no time for recording it at all. Between meeting the members and giving the first live there were two weeks.” Koudai explains that the first try of their recording was still fine and since they had no time at all to do it over again they decided that it would be the end product. Tomoya talks about how they burn it to CDs at home with to professional equipment. (Kuina still smoking at 6.00 … because he still wasn’t there yet.)
 6.05 First Live
Subaru already had a few Taiban before, so he wasn’t scared at all. Koudai says how Tomoya wanted to make the live only 100 Yen so more people would come. In the end about 5 or 6 people came for them. Tomoya: “Hoshi ni negai wo, no fate, kuroageha and koihanabi. We only had these four songs, so we HAD to play them.”
 7.30 Kuina joins
Tomoya and Kuina had been in a session band together of a label boss that sponsored a session band live. Kuina’s first wondered if Tomoya was really into Visual Kei because he didn’t show it openly. Tomoya: “When Kuina’s band had decided to disband he asked us if we don’t want another guitarist, since he knew about Royz. He told us he wanted to join. I talked to the other members about this guy wanting to join.” Subaru’s first impression of Kuina was that Kuina was really doing that Visual Kei Subaru wanted to do and that Kuina is one level ahead of him. He was glad when he heard about Kuina’s band disbanding [so he could join Royz]. Kuina says that his first impression of Subaru at a live was really strong. When Kuina saw Kazuki for the first time he wondered if Kazuki is a host because of his make up and hair make.
10.20 haru no yoru no yume PV shooting
Tomoya: “It was quite all of a sudden. I had work that day. I did my part time job until the evening and then there was the shooting at Koudai’s university in Himeji. I went there by bike. It was really a lot of fun back then!” Subaru tells us how they got their make up close to Koudai’s house. Kuina was happy about it and that it felt like they were finally doing something [like, growing as a band and moving forward]. Koudai talks about how it took time and money to do the shooting but how happy he was when he could gold this first CD/DVD in his hands.
 11.50 pain
This part is about Subaru running away from home and living with Koudai in Osaka for a while. Koudai talks about how Subaru didn’t know anything at all about (band) life and stuff like that. That it was so hard that he wanted to quit Royz. Koudai was like: “What the hell is he talking about?!” but Subaru was explaining under tears to Koudai that he didn’t know what to do anymore. Koudai and Subaru talked a lot then and Subaru decided to try it once again. Koudai: “I was realy happy about that! But I also realized what a sensitive person Subaru is.”
Subaru explains actually again how he lived with Koudai. “We went to Shinsaibashi together because we had nothing to do. And spend time there together. It made me confident in talking to Koudai.“
 15.20 AREA
Koudai: “Holiday Osaka helped us a lot with that. They payed the cost for recording this CD.” Tomoya: “The other members did the recording while I was working.” Kuina: “My strongest memory of AREA is how we performed it once, before we even recorded it. And back then the vocal melody was different from what we wanted to record. Thinking about it now, we were stupid to do that! (laughs)”
Subaru and Koudai were working on this song with Koudai’s guitar in Koudai’s room. He remembers that it was the first time he properly did something like that. Koudai: “That was the first time we met with tatsuro [mix engineer] and this CD could be produced thanks to many people.” Here there’s the interview with tatsuro where he says he met them the first time in 2010 in Shinsaibashi when they all brought the instruments along.
 17.00 First tour
Tomoya talks about the small size of car they rent and how they had to fit in 5 Members + 1 Staff and all the luggage. And how he thinks they rent the wrong car because that wasn’t what they expected when Kazuki reserved it. The staff even had to sit on a very tiny front seat in the middle.
Koudai tells an episode on how the air con didn’t work properly and everyone in the front was freezing while everyone in the back was sweating.
 18.45 B.P.RECORDS
Tomoya: “The PV for haru no yoru no yume was a failure.” Subaru says how the staff of like an Edison Osaka introduced them to the one of B.P.RECORDS. Koudai says that they had to show them songs because Royz wanted to make B.P.R produce their next PV. The boss of B.P.R thought it’s good and talked to Takemasa from Kiryu about it.
Takemasa: “I was so happy that we could have Kohai! When Kiryu started being active there were barely anyone we could call “kohai”. So it made us go: “Even this band [Kiryu] can get Kohai?!” And we were so excited.” He also says that he didn’t really hear anything about Kirakira Kei before he heard of Royz. It was the first time he heard that expression. Tomoya talks about B.P.R boss who wanted to see them live before starting to work with them. So they invited him to a concert.
Kuina knew about him coming to a live but when he saw someone in the 2nd row filming the concert he went like: “Who is this? >___>” but it was BPR boss. They went to have dinner together then and also met up with Mitsuki and Takemasa from Kiryu there. They also talked a lot on the phone after that day and Koudai got the impression that they all seem pretty cool and that it would be cool to join the label. Kuina tells us how he went to school properly only until 1st grade of middle school, so he didn’t really know a lot about all that Sempai-Kohai-thing.
 22.25 Kiryu Opening Act
This is actually just a lot of talking about how happy Kiryu were to have Kohai now and that Royz got along pretty well with Kiryu xD

Since it's pride month
For most of my time at school betweeb last september and febrary I had a crush on this girl. And you see Id been working through how feelings and sexuality work for me ever since the end of high school, because id been realizing that id never been actively interested in kissing or anything intimate with anyone. Id had plenty of what I call Sparks of Interests, where I just enjoyed looking at someone, talking to them, but more and in a different way than normally for friends. But all of those Interests were towards guys. I loved talling to my friends about guys and hypotheticals about them. I always envisioned myself in a man and woman couple and I loved that opposites pairing in every romance. But I wouldnt say that the ppssibility that I could be interested in girls hadnt crossed my mind. It didnt when I was little, and it didnt in middle school when I told girls that I didnt like boys, because they were stupid, and someoen asked if I was a lesbian. But in high school there was this awesome chick that transferred into our school. I woulsnt say I was overtly attracted to her, I certainly never had any fantasies about her, but I just thought she was so cool and I definitely wanted her to like me and to be friends eith her. Her twin brother was cool too. Oh oh and dont let me forget that one year I was apart of the schools journalism program and some of us were sitting around the classroom and I suddenly giggled at something I was reading, and this one nice tomboy girl was like omygod was that you that was the most adorable sound. I was so flustered, i will never forget that compliment.
But still i was straight. I fantasized about m/f relationships, not necessarily involving me because I cant often envision myself eith just anyone. I just think that romance is fascinating and enthralling and sometimes lots of things can be interesting.
And then I was reading a fanfic, and the girl was asexual, and Id been thinking about asexuality as an explanation for why I just didnt think i wanted to be sexual with anyone id ever met. But it didnt feel quite right because I know i mustve felt some attraction to some guys before, and definitely felt attraction to actors and such.
And then my friend gave me the term Gray Asexuality to research. Have you ever been putting together a puzzle and u put a piece in place, and it looks right and the picture doesnt seem to be wrong--but then you find another piece that looks so similar and you try it instead and it fits so much better, not loose or jammed. That was my feeling finding out that there was this complexity to sexuality and romance to explain why things just always feel so subtle for me. To explain why I can crave love but I really very often find that the very idea of kissing and sex is just awkward and weird to imagine for myself. It explained part of why my one week relationship fell through. Id had a crush on the guy since first meeting him at the start if the school year, and i had been so excited when he asked me out, and it was fun to hold hands and hug. But i hadnt wanted to kiss him, and it had bene so annoying when my friend told me i should kiss him, even just on the cheek. It just hadnt felt like there was a very big difference between my friendship with him and dating him.
So i got to thinking over all of my feelings towards all sorts of people. And if my sexuality and attraction was as rare and subdued as all that towards men, then I felt that maybe I hadnt wuite recognized any feelings id had towards girls.
And after discovering the asexual spectrum, i finally had some very interesting dreams, the likes of which id never had before turning 18 let me tell you. And they didnt only focus on men anymore.
And then i was in my second year at college, and i hadnt had many more dreams, and i hadnt found any real crushes my first year. But my second year i started working at the library, and one day this cute asian girl came through with a polite hello as she passed the front desk where i sat politely greeting everyone for my first week. I found myself memorizing her immediately. I would hope to catch her eye, catch a hello, a goodbye. I found myself glancing over to ehere she sat if she was in sight. And when she came to check out dvds i memorized her name immediately, all the more because id seen it on a study desk while doing rounds. See i hadnt knoem that if someone leaves something at their desk ee leave it alonenso id taken the open umbrella doem to the front desk and asked my coworkers and they said to put it back so i remembered the namr on the desk and returned it. So when i saw this cute girls name and recognized it from that desk, it almsot felt like fate. But that was silly. And i only thought she seemed nice and she was cute. That was all.
But then i was trying to capture her likeness on paper, ehich didnt go well those first few sketches because i hadnt gotten any good looks at her face. And after finding out her name I suddenly heard it cropping up elsewhere, and i was talking to my friends about her. My friends did not agree that i wasnt crushing. I insisted that i just wanted to get to know her was all. And then one day at lunch a new friend id made in class invited me to sit with her and her friends, and she mentioned an Eliza. Boy the anticipation, the excitement, the shy feelings, and the satisfaction when the very same girl sat with us.
Then that same friend invited me to a movie night at her dorm lounge with her friends, and when i asked who all would be there, anyone i know, she said maybe. I wondered to myself if She would be there. When i got into the dorm, lost and unfamiliar with the halls, waiting for my friend to come find me, I suddenly heard teo voices from upstairs. I knew one was my new friend, and with joy i recognized the other as Her. As it turned out She was the only other friend to join us. We 3 spent the night watching black panther and history of japan, getting to know each other, and I painted Her nails. It was different touching her hands then itd ever been with another girl. I found myself hoping for something. I hoped at least that she would like me as a person and wed be friends.
Every interaction after was a treasure for me. Moments we happened to be alone, when she offered to keep me company at lonely meals, when we had a big kdrama hangout and she did my hair, etc etc.
I had to acknowledge that it was crush of course. I told my closest friends about it.
And one day this crazy thing happened. I was sitting with Her and our friend and the two of us apart from Her were discussing dating apps and whatnot. And She asked why was i even concerned eith that stuff anyways. Id been thinking by then that she might be aspec because she never threw in her oen teo cents about interest in relationships whrn we discussed these things. I explained that i just wanted to try dating. I hadnt ever been on a real date.
While our friend was continuing with another topic, i heard Her say that She could take me on a date. My mind caught on it, but the topic had changed, and I felt that it couldnt have been serious. And so i gushed and whined about it to my friends. But the next day I brought it up as a joke with our group of friends, and she acknowledged that shed said it. Our friends supported it, because why not. Theres such a thing as a friendly joke date. I kind of messed it up i think though because when it was jsut us parting ways after brunch, she said she was going downtown, and i said That couldve been our date. And she agreed and invited me along. I wish id been dressed cuter. But it was fine, and it was a nice enough date, though i dont think she had any experience or interedt in how dates usually worked--it wasnt a serious date anyways, so i wouldnt get my hopes up. I wouldnt be invested. But wr passed a friend of hers, another cute girl maybe smaller than me, and She told her that we were on a date. That felt significant.
The next day i brought up that wed gone on the date to my group of friends, with Her sitting next to me. And she became so awkward, and after my friends congratulated us, she told me It wasnt a real date. On the outside i played it off casually saying Listen do you know how excited friends get about dates let me have this. On the inside i was so disappointed and heartbroken and a bit defensively angry with her. I announced to the table that she wasnt to make sure everyone knew it wasnt a real date. What i was really saying was hey friends she just crushed my heart.
But we were still friends. And after a while i got okay again. She hadnt even noticed anything had gone wrong.
At some point I told that first mutual friend about my crush on Her. Id been withholding eho my crush was on from her for a while and she hadnt even guessed Her. But when I told her she said everything made sense.
And then she set us up for a valentines day date. I couldnt believe it. She jsut randomly messaged me Would u want Her to be ur valentines date. And i was like Id appreciate any date tbh but yeah id like to go on a date with Her. And apparently She just agreed. I couldnt tell you why she did any of the things she did. But i can tell you that thru some conversations it became clear that my hypothesis was likely accurate. She didnt understand dates, she didnt see the difference beteren friend date and real date. This was just this nice outing with a friend. Part of me was okay with that, because i did simply enjoy Her. But another part of me felt unfulfilled and sad. But we had a nice date anyways. I learned even mroe about her and she made me this oittle clay blueberry because i would sometimes just pick out a blueberry at the dining hall and admire its beauty. It was a very nice date and i got to dress up cute for someone. I didnt let myself hope for much.
And then i was talking to more of our mutual friends about crushing on Her, and someone told me that shed asked Her out before and that her response had been something along the lines of not being interested like that. We all agreed that She likely just doesnt have any interest in romance or whatnot.
And so i began burying it away. My mourning period passed. She graduated, and its all over. My first ever crush on a non-man. It had been nice.
Btw her ringtone in my phone was Mindy Gledhill's I Do Adore.

I have a prime sub but it’s to karl… who never streams :’((( I miss karl he should stream more. I have literally never been gifted a sub and a friend of mine has been gifted so many like, george, ranboo you name it. 3 hours after I started typing this I got gifted a punz sub lets gooo. gonna be watching his mcc ad and we’ll see about the ads
so true I 100% agree. cheating is always morally correct. “academic integrity” like okay uni whatever you say it’s literally has no weight if you’re studying to pass an exam instead of actually learning. we should be studying to learn not pass an exam. yeah exactly!! knowledge shouldn’t cost this much.
lmaooo trueee and also moood. (about the antisocial/awkward stuff I feel like to didnt make sense just like that what I was referring to with the next sentence starting with “like”) like I feel bad about feeling toxic about the twitter updates account thing because like I’ve been a person from the twitter updates account but like I’m not toxic for no reason afterwards. yeah it’s 100% so frustrating!! like a while ago I remember seeing “oh I’m not sending dts on dream’s behalf I’m sending them on mine” like huh???? do you not see the problem with that??? ughhh I get you tho I was annoyed with the kaceytron stream as well. I didn’t watch it tho like I watched a bit and was like fuck this then left. yeah I also hate it when he goes on streams of people who actively talk shit about him like :/// lowkey I feel like I’m just a bit too defensive of him sometimes because of all the unnecessary shit he gets from so so many people but at least I recognise that ig. I swear tho, his twitter stans get him in wayy more shit than he does. like that one account that counted the days made me so mad. but yeah it is kind of the same stuff. like I try not to cause I know it’s the same but like when I do it, it feels justified and not just being shitty for no reason but take away all that and it is really the same. like not to be a gatekeeper buuuuut. I’m very good at ignoring it all tho
that’s really cool but also spanish as a requirement in uni (/college idk)??? never heard of that. oh dang that’s cool I’ve always wanted to know more languages. language and the way people use it and like communication in general has always been so interesting to me. I want to say something about like my strong use of “like” now cause I’m noticing it. yeah exactly, the way people communicate online is so interesting!
tubbo should start war with foolish about the beets. that would be funny I think. and amazing lore. cause like not all lore has to be all high production. like I love hugh production lore, I love funny, silly lore, I love “semi” lore I’d enjoy it all. just log onto the smp and like idk do literally anything I will count it as lore. everything that has ever happened on the smp is canon to me. tubbo could literally just like nuke someone and start a whole new storyline. he should nuke the prison. I would say nuke foolish’s summer home over the beets but I’d be too sad about that and it’s a bit of an overreaction. there is much potential and I love tubbos character. also ranboo?? he just said that enderwalk was c!ranboo with all his memories and just like dipped and went to the uk. I do get that they’re all very busy tho and it can be difficult to find the time and all that I haven’t watched much of the bear smp but it looks cool and I may get into it at some point. I feel like I just don’t have any time these days tho
he didn’t drop off the face of the earth!! he did a 5 hour long merch vc. I am australian 😔✌️so I was asleep for half of it but it was nice just listening to it when I woke up. sapanp singing was my favourite bit. like I listened to some of those songs afterwards cause I liked them but it just wasn’t the same😔😔
I feel bad for replying so late tho so sorry about that I just felt very not social all day but I do like that with anon I can kinda just come and go and it’s chill
Yooooo congrats on the gifted punz sub! Yeah I seem to have bad luck with gifted subs, random chance I’ve only gotten sapnap, the fundy gifted was a gift from a friend
The best knowledge is free anyways. Also uni/college always tries to guilt you like who are you the catholic church fuck off. Bruh I’m paying for your services you should be treating me good I’m basically a glorified customer
Bro you where a twitter updates account?? Props to you I am at all times in the worst position to know stuff. Unless I am actively live blogging I have 0 what’s going on. I’m always years late to new informations like I’ll check my phone and realize that I missed a whole lore stream. Also on twitter you can’t even send dts right??? Like here you can actually say the words death die & kill but on twitter you have to censor yourself. “Die” funny, a little threatening but ultimately can be ignored. “d13” hilarious not at all threatening?? Wait this makes it seme like I am cool with death threats I’m not but I’ve gotten a fair share and seen other people get them and they’re always funny to me. Telling someone to die isn’t funny but being told to die is very funny if that clarifies anything. I thinknI watched a lot of the kaceytron stream (however I watched it through a dream fan streaming the stream so she didn’t get any views/money) and the whole thing was extremely upsetting. I can be defensive of him too, not so much for him but more for me. I know he can probably handle most of it but how dare people insult stuff I like. It’s less defending his honor and more how dare people disrespect me through disrespecting things I like. Plus if it ever is too much for dream I know his friends will come in clutch. Bbh saying stuff is the indicator tm that what people are saying about dream is bullshit
Does college means something different to the rest of the world? In the us it’s almost interchangeable with uni except universities can give you a doctorate while college can only get you your undergrad. It’s less that spanish is required and more that we’re required to take two years of a language and I just chose spanish. I’ve met so many people who either only speak spanish or have spanish as their first language that knowing the amount that I do has actually come in handy. Dont think about the like thing too much trust me. It’s a really good comma and indicator that you’re speaking casually but the more you notice it the more upsetting it becomes
I think the beets could be a great plot point because beets suck and I hate them!! I really do like silly lore but I hate the effect it has on the fandom. I haven’t forgiven people for writing off the l’sandburg lore. In the words of the wisest man I ever knew “everything I do on the dream smp is canon to some extent”. Accept that silly lore is canon folks!! That’s what makes the dream smp so much fun! Also high production lore can be super lame guys please this is roleplay in minecraft chill
Wait about tubbo’s lore did we ever find out who stole the one nuke? I don’t watch a lot of ranboo’s stuff but I’m very happy that enderwalk ranboo is besties with c!dream theory is coming along nicely. Uno au my beloved. No about the bear smp stuff I’d also like to get into ballsmp, more of hermit craft, and 3rd life but I’m busy too? Like college hasn’t even started and I’m already sweating. Speaking of other smps do you remember that smp that karl and quackity were invited to but never logged on? Ahoddj that was hysterical. Never gonna watch it, just think it’s funny that they were invited and decided you know what nah
The 5 hour long merch podcast my beloved!!! I had two favorite parts (other than sapnap singing) the first was when he said the alright and we all complained enough that he decided to keep streaming and the second was the final alright where he said bye and then dipped with 0 hesitation while sap & george were still in the call sjsjdk
Again no worries I’ll always be here to answer no rush for anything I’m simply vibing at all times

Churro-Boy pt 2
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Warnings: Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming + some curse words here and there
A/N: This is going to take place during Spider-Man:Homecoming with a little twist here and there so Y/N can remain the love interest. (Credits to the writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming because I used a couple lines) This is probably going to be a mini-series because I am slowly building up their relationship. Also, thank you to all of you who requested a part 2! Kinda got carried away with this one
word count: 2.7k
Tumblr media
Part 1
The day after my encounter with Churro-Boy was pretty interesting to say the least.
I walked down one of the many halls of Midtown and headed to my locker. Sounds like a simple task, but with all these slow people crowding the hall, it was a bit of a struggle; especially considering how restless I was.
Sometime during dinner last night, my mom and I heard a huge bang coming from down the street. I rushed to the window to try and get a good view, but I couldn’t see much. It wasn’t until later that night when I saw on the news that an ATM -along with Delmar’s Deli-grocery -were completely destroyed. They released the security footage where Spider-Man was fighting some robbers, and then a bright, purple blast filled the screen before the tape ended; I felt anxious because I had just met him hours prior to that incident. He could have died and I don’t want to imagine Churro-Boy getting hurt. I know he’s a superhero and all, but that was seriously dangerous.
He seems too sweet to get hurt.
Furrowing my brows, I mentally scolded myself for thinking of Spider-Man in that way. I don’t really know him, despite how familiar he seemed.
“Either you’re thinking really hard right now, or your eyebrows are permanently damaged,” my friend said to me.
I closed my locker and glanced at Michelle, who didn’t need to look up from her book to see my inner turmoil. “The lady at the salon seriously miscalculated when she threaded them; I shouldn’t have tipped her. Damn,” I sighed.
Michelle tried not to smile, but I saw her crack a small grin. “I don’t think you tip salon ladies,” she replied, finally closing her book. “So? What is it this time? Did something happen on one of your shows?”
“Hey, you have your books, and I have my Netflix, okay?” I defended myself. “But something did happen to me last night,” I said more serious.
All morning, I couldn’t wait to tell MJ. It was pretty exciting to say that I met the Spider-Man, and even talked to him! I ate half of his churro!
Okay -that sounds weird, I don’t think I’m gunna mention that part to her…I’ll let the churro part be our thing.
Michelle had a quick look of concern flash across her face before she asked, “What?”
“You know the Spider-Man right?” I asked and she nodded. “I met him.”
“You met him,” she said skeptically.
“Yeah. I know. This sounds crazy, but he was on my fire escape talking on the phone when I was trying to take a nap -don’t look at me like that -and I woke up and kinda threatened him with a bat, and then I realized who he was because, at first, I thought he was some weirdo in tights trying to rob me since his suit looks different from what I’ve seen on Youtube -ya know -so then we just talked and he left. Then the whole ATM thing happened. Down my street!” I said rapidly talking and moving my hands for emphasis.
“Are your lungs abnormally large? Or do you just not take a breath when you talk?” MJ asked, almost incredulously.
“That’s all you have to say? I just gave you the Spark Notes version of the most interesting thing that’s ever happened to me, and you decide to question my anatomy?” I exclaimed.
Michelle narrowed her eyes at me and said, “So you met him.”
“Yeah,” I sighed, disappointed that she wasn’t as excited as I was. Then again, this is MJ we’re talking about.
“Cool,” she smirked.
I smiled back and was about to say something, but then the bell rang. My smile dropped faster than my grades when I heard it and I groaned. “I don’t want to go to class.”
Michelle pat my shoulder in sympathy and said, “Who does?”
After four, painful hours of “learning,” it was finally time for the most hated class on my schedule where I truly learn nothing:
P.E.
Physical. Education.
Me and exercise simply do not correlate. We just don’t get along. The locker room is gross, and the gym smells like feet mixed with sweat.
Michelle and I left the locker room, with me constantly grumbling in my head, and Michelle reading her book.
“You know we have that fitness test today,” I said glancing at MJ, “why’d you bring your book?”
Michelle didn’t look up and kept reading as she walked, “I find that reading books is a better exercise for my brain than some sit-ups; that test is a waste of time that we have to do every year even though some of us are unfit for certain types of activities.”
“You should be President,” I said slightly astonished. I can never get used to how aware Michelle is of all things unjust. Especially since we’re just sophomores in high school.
“I know,” she replied, walking towards the top of the bleachers. I followed her, looking at my feet as I did so I wouldn’t trip. MJ has long legs, but I sure don’t. I quickly looked up and made eye contact with one of my classmates; he was already looking at me, so it was that awkward moment where we both just look at each other until one of us chooses to look away. Except this time, I decided to say something.
“Hey Pete,” I said, adding one of those tight-lipped smiles.
His face turned slightly pink and he cleared his throat before saying, “Hey Y/N.”
“Ned,” I greeted with a nod because he too saw this exchange.
He gave me a small wave before turning back to Peter to say something.
Yeah that wasn’t awkward or anything. Was calling him Pete weird? It kinda rolled off my tongue fine. I’ve never called Peter “Pete” before. Am I overthinking? Yeah -I’m overthinking.
Coach Wilson had a TV rolled out onto the gym and showed us “Captain America’s Fitness Challenge.” I may hate this class, but that video was so cringey that it was somewhat entertaining. Our first station was sit-ups, which didn’t sound that bad.
I’d rather do that than run the mile.
MJ and I took a place on the mats and she decided to go first. I held her feet down, but instead of sit-ups, she raised her book up and down as if it was weight-lifting.
“You’re doing it wrong,” I told her. “Captain America would be very disappointed in you.”
“How dare you speak to your future President like this,” MJ joked.
I scoffed and shook my head. I looked down at the blue mat and it reminded me of a certain someone. “Did I tell you that Spider-Man is a kid?”
I couldn’t help but think about Churro-Boy again.
“A kid?” she asked, lightly laughing. “How old are we talkin’?”
“I’m not sure, but maybe a little older than us. Or even our age. Definitely a teenager; his voice cracked sometimes.” I said, recalling our conversation yesterday.
“Cracked? So puberty?” MJ asked incredulously.
“Well no, not exactly puberty. His voice would just rise at some points. And he tried to use this fake, deep voice with a New-Yorker accent,” I giggled. “It was kinda cute actually.”
“Wait,” MJ said, doing a sit-up and staying up. “Are you crushing on Spider-Man?”
Shit.
I stumbled over my words, blushing, “Wh- what? No! No, I SO am not! Tha- that’d be weird; I dont even know him!” I nervously chuckled and tried to play this off.
“Peter knows Spider-Man!” Ned exclaimed.
The whole gym got quiet and looked at the duo.
Peter? Peter Parker knows Churro-Boy? I looked at him, waiting to see what he would do.
Peter gaped at Ned and got up. “Uh, no I don’t, no,” he stuttered a bit and walked towards MJ and I, “I -I mean..”
“They’re friends,” Ned explained.
Flash Thompson scoffed from the rope station and said sarcastically, “Yeah, like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friends.”
Peter ignored him and said to me, “I- I meet him, yeah. A couple times. But it’s, um, through..the..Stark Internship.”
Flash quirked his eyebrow and said, “Mmhm.”
“Yeah well, I’m not really supposed to talk about it,” Peter muttered, glaring at Ned.
“Well that’s awesome,” Flash said sauntering towards Peter, “Hey, you know what? Maybe you should invite him to Liz’s party tonight.”
Peter turned to look at Liz, as did the rest of the gym.
Liz shook her head to compose herself from the sudden attention and replied, “Yeah, um, I’m having people over tonight. You’re more than welcome to come.”
Peter looked taken back and glanced at me before turning back to Liz and asking softly, “You’re having a party?”
Did Peter not know? She invited the team… Oh right, he quit the other day.
“Yeah, it’s gunna be dope. You should totally invite your personal friend Spider-Man.” Flash mocked.
Peter got slightly flustered and mumbled, “Um.”
“It’s okay. I know Peter is way too busy for parties anyway,” Liz remarked.
Peter has been distant lately, I thought. He’s already quit mathletes club, robotics club, and the decathlon! I’m not obsessed with him or anything, I’m just observant.
“Peter, it’s just a party; don’t listen to them,” I rolled my eyes. “You don’t need to prove anything.”
Peter looked at me and I offered a small smile.
“Aw, c’mon,” Flash waved off my comment, “You’ll be there. Right, Parker?”
The bell rang as Peter let Flash walk passed him. Peter clenched his jaw and then walked towards Ned.
I couldn’t make out their conversation, but my gaze did linger on them after that exchange.
I hope he ignores Flash’s dumb teasing; what a dick.
“C’mon,” MJ said, pulling me towards the locker room.
Later that day, I got home to do some homework (shocking, I know) in my room. My mom walked in to check on me.
“No nap today?” my mom asked me with a teasing smile.
“I would, but sadly, I have plans to socialize with people my age tonight. Remember?” I asked looking up from my notebook. I was sat by my window at my desk, hoping to see a dude in blue and red tights eating a churro on my balcony. No sight of him yet, but I have seen about three pigeons. “I need to get this done before I party like it’s 1999. Whatever that means,” I said tapping my pencil against my math homework.
“Oh right! My baby is going to a party tonight! How exciting!” my mom said, genuinely sounding happy for me. Besides Michelle, I hardly hang out with anyone; but I’m okay with that. “There won’t be any illegal stuff right?”
“Not that I know of?” I said confused. “I’ve never been to a high school party before. I don’t even wanna go to be honest,” I mumbled the last part. The only people I knew were my team mates from the Decathlon; there’s going to be seniors there, and a big social gathering just isn’t my thing.
Thanks to my mother’s incredible hearing, that comment didn’t slip by. Her eyes softened and I looked down at my notebook. “Hey,” she said walking towards me to push back my hair, “you know you don’t have to prove anything to anyone right? If you really don’t want to go, then don’t. It’s just a party, honey.”
That advice sounds familiar, I thought sarcastically in my head. I wonder if Peter took my advice for tonight.
I smiled at my mom and said, “I know; it’s just the nerves talking, I guess. There’s gunna be upper-classmen and I’m just -me,” I shrugged and looked at my mom.
“And that’s all you need to be,” she said pinching my cheek. “And if you want to bail, just text me, and I’ll come get you. We can order pizza and watch a scary movie or something and pretend that party never happened.”
“Thanks mom,” I smiled, slightly embarrassed, yet, touched at her thoughtfulness.
I’ll be fine.
“Let’s go back,” I told my mom, parked outside Liz Allen’s house.
“Sweetheart, you haven’t even stepped outside of the car. Michelle is waiting for you inside!” she tried to reason with me.
I knew I was just nervous, so I took a deep breath and tried to hype myself up. “Yeah, you’re right. I can do this.”
“You have to actually open the door you know,” my mom teased.
“Getting to that part,” I muttered. I stepped out of the car, and put a brave face on. I offered my mom a small smile and she gave me a thumbs up in return before speeding off.
After a small debate with myself, I made my way towards the door. I raised my hand to knock but then put it down. Do people normally knock when going to a party? Or do I ring the doorbell? As I was over-thinking the situation, once again, someone shoved passed me and opened the door.
“Right,” I muttered to myself.
You just walk in I guess. Where’s MJ at when you need her?
Luckily, I spotted her in the kitchen. I have never been more relieved in my life than in this very moment.
“Hey,” I smiled at her.
She gave me a nod and asked, “Toast?”
She held out her toast to me and I took it, “Thanks?”
Well, it’s no churro, but this’ll do.
“You look like you need it more than me. I’ll just make another. Then we can go somewhere and silently judge everything.”
I bit into my toast and smiled in relief.
As Michelle spread peanut butter over her toast, she said, “I can’t believe you guys are here at this lame party.”
I turned to see who she was referring to and nearly choked on my toast.
Peter is here. And Ned, but wow, Peter?
“You’re here too,” Ned remarked.
“Am I?” Michelle questioned,
“Is she?” I added, “Nice hat by the way.”
“Thanks,” Ned said smiling at me.
“H-hey  Y/N,” Peter smiled, then quickly added, “Michelle.”
“I’ll be over there,” MJ said, biting into her toast as she headed towards the couch.
The three of us watched her walk away, and I chuckled at her blunt-fullness.
“Oh my gosh,” Liz said smiling at us, “Hey guys! Cool hat Ned.”
“That’s what I was saying,” I smiled at her.
“Hi Liz,” Ned smiled.
“Hey Liz,” Peter said.
“I’m so happy you guys came,” she continued, “there’s pizza and drinks if you wanna help yourselves.”
“Pizza?” I perked up. “Hell yeah,” I muttered as I set down my toast on the table and went to find pizza. About two steps in, I turned back to Liz and said, “This is a great party by the way!”
“Thanks,” she smiled.
Before she got the chance to say anything else she heard something break and excused herself. I looked back to the kitchen and headed towards the pizza boxes on the counter.
“Y/N!” I heard Peter exclaim my name.
I stopped to turn around and looked at him expectantly. “Yeah?”
“Uh, save me a slice, yeah?” he finally said.
“Can’t promise anything, Parker!” I grinned, teasing him.
He smiled back at me, and I continued my trek for food. As I was serving two slices on a plate, I heard Flash mock Peter and Ned on the mic. Seriously, what an asshole. First at the gym and now at the party? Maybe pizza will cheer Peter up. Pizza solves lots of problems.
I headed to where I last saw Peter and Ned and saw that only Ned was there. “Hey Ned, where did Peter go?”
“Oh, uh, he went to…the bathroom. But I’m gunna wait for him,” Ned said looking around.
“Oh,” I said disappointed. “Well, when he comes back, can you tell him I have his pizza?” I was looking forward to hanging out with Peter and Ned tonight.
“Yeah, sure thing,” he smiled softly.
“If you get bored of waiting for him, come sit with me and Michelle, yeah? There’s a strong chance I’ll eat his slice, and I could use some supervision,” I teased.
“Cool, I will,” Ned said.
I gave him one last smile before I joined MJ on the couch. This party was actually turning out fun. And it was…aside from one thing.
Peter didn’t show up for the rest of the night. Him or Churro-Boy. The worst part was that I couldn’t tell what disappointed me the most.

Keep Austin Weird
Austin is a very special place. It really craved a big chunk of my heart. A merge of NY feeling, with Seattle memories and it’s Texan uniqueness. And of course, as always, this fondness relies on its people. Misfits, rebels, crazy, artists, and all that people that in other corners of traditional Texas may be judged, end up in Austin. And you are welcome too if you want to join! Attending to SXSW made it even more special, with all these creative souls walking around, exchanging smiles, ideas, words and emails. It was fantastic. I felt super inspired, grateful and for a moment, I felt like I belong to this crowd too.
Tumblr media
From Piano battles to standup comedy, there are a bunch of things I left undone due to the cluttered and intensity of the itinerary demanded by SXSW. But, very vaguely, but with much love, these are my top 10 things to do in Austin:
1) Shake it off at the The Broken Spoke
Tumblr media
Bring it on with the honky-tong. Feels like being part of a movie. After a long ride from Downtown Austin, one needs to cross the bridge before arriving to here, the middle of nowhere yet marvelous place. Don’t forget to bring cash with you for the entry fee. Grab your favorite local, or better yet, make yourself available for the nice and gentle Texan to approach you. In my case, Christian, an insurance runner with a farm and bird passion, taught me all the steps and secrets from the dance floor. It was great. Not only he knew about Uruguay, but he practiced his Spanish, patiently taught me all the movements of the local dance, and even invited me not only a drink which I gently declined, but a follow up lunch date. It’s ridiculous how talented Texan people are -  they have their music ingrained in their voices, bodies and minds. Christian was no exception. He sent me videos of him singing before our date to nail the deal. Wise move, amigo ;) We went on Quaresma Friday for some BBQ and he refrained himself from eating meat - of course I completely forgot and made an exception, indulging myself with all the delicious Brisket. And, thank you Lari for the boots, they made all the difference and made me a real Dancing Queen. #SisterhoodOfTheTravellingBoots <3
Tumblr media
Yeap - I dressed up for the occasion, never felt prouder of myself! For a second or two, Christian really thought I was a local!
2) Wonder, enjoy and have fun by Sixth Street.
Tumblr media
This is Austin’s main street. Full of bars, antique stores, delis, souvenir shops, cafes, and more and even more bars, this is the place to be. Avoid staying on the street itself, but if your hotel is near by -which probably will be- this fun impromptu venue won’t disappoint. Its streets intersections all surround the Austin Convention Center and most of the main concert venues, cool cafes, fun dancing spots and delightful dinner restaurants will be around. Wonder Six Street and let it marvel you. It will be the best souvenir you’ll be able to take from Austin.
3) Go for hidden drinks at The Garage
Tumblr media
Ladies night was Garage night! What a great finding. Wondering Austin streets, there’s a modern parking space that looks oddly beautiful for being just a mere parking lot. Doubt about it. Go inside and go figure, there’s a hidden bar between their spaces, with the perfect ambience, the necessary small bites and the delicious tailored made drinks for a fun evening with friends or a casual date.
4) Experience the beauty of the 7th fine art at Stateside Theater, Alamo Lamar and Paramount Theater
Tumblr media
How crazy it is to take one of those electric scooters and go across town with highways and bridges to watch a movie almost at midnight? Let me tell you, it takes some guts. Yet, I decided to go to watch the music short film festival and check out the Alamo. The proper name is “Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar”. It’s a unique concept where food and drinks are served within the venue while you watch your movie. Very similar to Nitehawk cinemas in New York, although this one was massive - hence, a little bit more ruined down. Also, it’s hard to keep up with the cleaning of the venues within SXSW, but yet it was a wonderful eve. Watching This is America by Childish Gambino in full screen as well as Boyish by Japanese Breakfast among others was amazing. And afterwards, there was a live performance of jazz, honky-dong and be-bop on the draft house next to it. Unfortunately, I already ordered the UBER and there were not so many around, so I enjoyed it for a few while waiting for it, and then left my scooter and went back to civilization to the Line Hotel, a beautiful boutique one where I was staying. I also had the opportunity to check out the Stateside and the Paramount Theater, both of them located at Congress Avenue, where many 2019 SXSW premiers were held, such as Us and Booksmart - which I ended up watching in Nitehawk with Caro later in June. I attended to these two venues for Come as You Are, great story in which three disabled men go on a road trip to lose their virginity at a special-needs bordello in this ingratiating remake of a Belgian film and Bluebird, a documentary about one of Nashville’s most celebrated and important venues, which has been a launching pad for new songwriters since 1982 - Including Taylor Swift!
6) Go to Antone’s for a real music treat
Tumblr media
Wow... I mean.... just wow! Was this magical or what? Thank you Z for dragging me to this venue and make me wait more than 2 hours with random yet cool artists to finally get to known and be mesmerized by Saint Paul and the Broken Bones. From 8 ‘till midnight, people were delighted by DJ Manny, Tameca Jones, Jacob Banks to finally end up with the high note of St. Paul. It was incredible. This powerhouse band made the roof came down in an intense, intimate yet powerful performance. The vocal lead Paul Janeway was absolutely incredible. With glitter and shinny dress-like outfit, he owned the stage from begging to end, specially while walking through the crowd, making it to the bar and singing on top of it, Coyote Ugly style. With his unique style and even rarest voice, this has been one of the most memorable concert experiences I ever had. As my friend Z would describe it: “When I tell you to wait, is because something worthwhile is coming. It’s a big dude, that sounds like a black woman’s voice, who belongs to a gospel choir”. - He was absolutely right..  SXSW Music Festival is really something out-of-this-word. To mention a few, imagine Tiny Desk Concerts held in a church, to Dj Windows 95 in Mercedes Benz Openhouse or Japanese Breakfast at the Mohawk, another iconic Austin Venue. Yet, the surprise happened during Sounds from Colombia night at Speakeasy, with Mojarra Eléctrica and Los Gaiteros de Ovejas when I met Idahosa Ness- which means, “he who only listens to God”. Nope, it was not a Colombian artist yet he lived in Colombia. He is this brilliant man from Austin which spoke more than 5 languages and learnt all of them through music and rap, decided to share his gift with the world by creating language learning tools in a start-up mode, traveling the world and enlightening each person that crosses his path in between. Yes, that’s the people you meet in the crowd. That’s the people you randomly run into SXSW. You can check out his project here, in The Mimic Method. Did I mention that he has a fantastic speech grandiloquence, and he looks like Lenny Kravitz (meaning he is damn hot!)?? Wow...I definitely won the jack pot that night! Thank you SXSW! Music does bring people together!
7) Feast yourself and treat your belly with a real Texas BBQ at Cooper Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que and Stubbs BBQ
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This indulgence was also fantastically yummy. With Brazilian friends on with a local date, Texas BBQ never goes out of style. I had the chance to try it twice, both in unique and renown locations. I didn’t make it to Franklin, which is suppose to be the most famous one, with queue and waiting hours outside included, under the tremendous heat or the pouring rain. Also, it is located further away, closer to the airport, so there was zero chance I would made it in the electric scooters over there. But, to be fair, Cooper and Stubbs were outstanding and I think I did have my authentic experience regardless.
8) Attend to SXSW
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, what else can I say? I think it’s self introductory but in case your Tupperware is way too sealed, this is THE event that you should attend to (on top of Austin City Limits Festival, which is only reserved for music performances) “It’s an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year”. Wake up early, stay up late. Dont forget about the music. Chose your venues and talks wisely. Download the SXSW app and pre-book your favorite talk with a day in advance And also, very mucho important, book some time to mingle and relax. The conferences are awesome but so do the exhibits, the films, the pop ups, the branded experiences but mostly the people.
9) Visit some historical sites
Tumblr media
From old Austin Congress, to fun and corky hotel venues (which happens to have a really cool pool, BTW) to wonder around beyond the highway, Austin has always a hidden, usually fun and weird surprise waiting for you. Don’t be afraid to explore - although keep the discovery during daytime!
10) HAVE FREAKING FUN!
This is almost another one for granted. Almost about everything you do in Austin will be fun, weird, memorable and ex(h)austin. And, if you are lucky enough, the activities you do will be all of these at the same time. Dont forget to check out the Vietnamese Elizabeth Cafe for a beautiful and delicious dinner, drop by The Mohawk, another iconic music venue where I had the chance to listen to Japanese Breakfast for the second time this year (and I could just keep going!), get your morning joe at the Royal Blue Grocery as well as the cutest Frida Kahlo earrings and don’t doubt to try the local breakfast freshly made, squeezed and prepared at Easy Tiger Cafe, which is as good as in it’s Beer Garden and Brewery after hours hours option. Cheers Austin! You’ve officially become one of my favorite places in the US <3
