more Adam, meeting Ren's family, setting up Simon's rut
a/n: getting to the best part of this idea arc is taking longer than anticipated. hopefully the rut and big talks next chapter 🤞🏻

Before you leave, you make sure to swing by the base admin building. The cold sterility of the grey hallways makes you sad, but Adam's desk near Price's office is always a ray of sunshine. He isn't at his desk, but his lemon cinnamon scent lingers and is perfectly accentuated by the succulents on the shelf. The space feels warm and bright despite being several halls away from a window. There are photos of several task forces tacked over the copy machine. The 141's photo is recent as you're in it, but you have no idea where it's from or how Adam has it.
He comes over as you're staring at the image. You point at it as he sits down and trip over yourself, asking, "Where is that from? How did you get it?"
He interrupts with a finger across his lips and whispers, "I never give away my secrets."
The train of thought barreling away seizes and you stop cold, a smile slowly breaking through. You chuckle and remember why you're here in the first place. "Hey, I wan'ed to thank ya for suggesting to Price I head home for leave."
He starts to wave off your thanks, but the words dry on his lips when you place a pint of Magnum Classic and two Flake bars next to his keyboard. He gives you a look of pure adoration as he stutters, "What in the...how did you know?"
You smile indulgently. "I listen, just like you do," you tell him with a wink. "Don't wait too long to eat that. 'S probably best if ya don't refreeze th' Magnum. And I know if ya try and wait 'til ya get home, Charlie will try an' steal it from ya." You couldn't count the number of times Adam told you about how he and his pack's alpha often fought over sweets around the house to the point where Bridget, the pack omega, kept separate stashes for them both. You loved hearing about Adam's pack. It made you miss your family a little less when he spoke about his.
Adam stands again and walks around the desk to where you are. He holds his arms open in invitation, and you step into the hug. He squeezes you tight for a moment before stepping back. Still holding your shoulders, he says, "Enjoy this time with your family. Be good. Have fun, but not too much. And come back safe, yeah?"
You nod. "Yeah, Adam. I'll be good." Your ride to town leaves soon, and then its a four-hour train ride home. If all the transportation runs on time, you'll be home for supper and can help Mum cook. You feel a little guilty about not letting Dad and the moms you're coming home, but you hope the surprise of your presence will make up for it.
The house doesn't look any different. The brick is a little more weather-beaten than when you joined up, but the shape of the house is unchanged. Three skinny stories with black shingles on top. The dormer windows on the third floor belie the open plan of that floor with the family nest along the back wall. That's where Dad is until the birth. From the curb, all you can see is the pale blue curtains. Somewhere in the back of the house, Mum is probably already starting on supper, Mama corralling your brothers and sisters.
You push the front gate open and step onto the flagstone walk. It cuts across a neat patch of green grass, though you notice the bikes tucked inside the front wall. Clearly with Dad on bed rest, your siblings are taking liberties with putting those in the garage.
Not for the first time, you second-guess the surprise of this visit. You know Mum and Mama won't say how worried they are about Dad and the litter, but you see it in their eyes when you call. Dad, too, teases about being on bed rest, but the last two losses weigh heavily on him.
You take a deep breath and knock. There's nothing for a few moments, but you hear scurrying behind the door and can imagine the triplets arguing about who gets to open it. Your middle siblings may or may not be home from uni, and if they are, they're not going to race for the door like the fifteen-year-olds. The door opens a crack and an eye peeks out. When it catchs sight of you, the owner squeals - must by Norah - and the door flings wide. "You're home!" Norah crows, throwing herself at you. "You're home! You're home!"
"I'm here," you echo, hugging her back. You look over her shoulder for the boys. Ben is making his way to you, but Davy isn't in sight. As he closes in, Ben pushes Norah out of the way and pulls you inside. "Mama was just going to call you," he says. "Or maybe she already called, since you're here?" You shake your head. "Anyway, the moms are going to take Dad to the birth centre-" Your gasp stops him mid-ramble, and his eyes go as wide as saucers. "Oh! No! They don't think this is bad. Mum said something about Dad's internal temperature increasing. They think the litter's ready."
You barely hear Ben's last words as you race to the back of the house and find Mama pacing the kitchen. She stops short when she sees you and flings herself into your arms. "Oh God, oh love, what are you doing here?" she half laughs, half cries, phone cradled in one hand.
"Had some leave coming and thought I'd surprise you. But it looks like I'm the one in fer a surprise!"
Mama's laughter is bright, light and happy. "Yes, you are. Mum's getting Dad's bag. They should be coming down now." She hugs you tight. "I know you just got here, but do you mind waiting here with the triplets?" she whispers into your hair.
Your laughter matches hers. "Not at all, Mama." You definitely owe Adam for suggesting you take leave and come home. You might have missed this otherwise. You shoo Mama to go grab some of her own things, listening for Mum and Dad on the stairs, while you pull together a small bag of waters and snacks for them. You toss in the crisps Mum hides but will want when she stress eats and the candy you know Dad will crave once he's allowed to eat again. You also put some healthy options in for all three otherwise Mama will scold the others the whole time and you do not want to induce that stress.
By the time the moms and Dad are in the front hall, you've pulled the car into the drive, put the snacks in the front seat, and opened all the doors. You help Mum get Dad comfortably into the back seat. Neither was as surprised to see you as you thought, so Mama must have given them a warning when she went to gather her things.
You kiss Dad's temple as you help him settle, then steady Mum with a squeeze to her hand. "Have ya called Michael or Helen yet?" you ask, leaning through the passenger side window. From the look Mama gives Mum you know they haven't. "I'll do it before you're out of the drive," you tell them. Mama puts the car in gear and backs out. You follow, shouting at them to keep you updated. You stand at the bottom of the drive long after their car disappears around the corner.
The team pack is pulling up to their house in the Lake District about the same time as your parents leave. Unlike your family's home in its neat little row on the outskirts of the city you grew up in, the pack's house sits on land nestled between the Irish Sea and the western edge of the Lake District. The cottage, or what was a quaint cottage before the pack expanded the buildings and outbuildings on the property, is a slight distance from any lakes or towns meaning they're fairly isolated. They're not entirely off the grid, but Laswell and Adam know not to reach them for the next week. They haven't told you to go no contact: though you aren't pack yet, none of them are ready to go more than a week without hearing your voice or seeing your face.
Price is already making plans for how long he'll give you before he reaches out to check in. His presence during Ghost's rut is more of a formality as the pack alpha. When they established themselves as a pack, Price's and Ghost's alpha-only ruts were rough. Both men bear a number of scars from the warring instinct to rut and to fight another alpha. Neither man was averse to a cock in his ass, but being bitched was another matter altogether, both alphas struggling to take the others' knot until they had first Gaz then Soap join the pack.
Price's role this week is making sure there is enough food and water for Ghost and whomever is helping him. There's a pallet of waters in the boot and a wholesale box of granola bars. While Soap and Gaz unpack the car, Price sets up the bed in the first floor master suite with protective pads. Price also makes up an air mattress in the second floor office. It's not comfortable, but for a handful of days, it's doable. He works hard not to think about his rut in a few months. How, if you're pack by then, he won't take his rut with Gaz or Soap but with you, sinking into your slick heat.
He knows Ghost's struggling with having you on the team but not part of the pack yet, which is why he brought a little treat for Ghost. As they rolled out of their barracks, Price grabbed the throw blanket from the rec room couch and shoved it into a plastic tote. It was a shared blanket, yes, but you'd been wrapping yourself up in it the last few days because the barracks were too cold for your omega. Despite your scent blockers keeping them from your true smell, there's a lingering scent of citrus from your toiletries. Any of them would recognize it. Price pulls the blanket out and leaves it in the middle of the master bed for Ghost, even though his own alpha growls and scratches about giving the scent of you away.
It's going to be a long week.

( follows the show - kind of just a oneshot bc i’m bored )

I really hope this part is good enough 🙏
—
Being claimed was perhaps worse than staying in the Hermes cabin. The Zeus cabin was completely empty, much to Y/N’s dismay. Percy was unlucky enough to be a forbidden child too. Looks like neither of them would be having any half-siblings.
“I always knew she was destined for greatness.” Clarisse would say as if the life of a forbidden child wasn’t lonely and utterly isolated.
“Knock, knock.”
But there was one person who could light up the dim Zeus cabin.
“Hope you don’t mind that I brought strawberries. I picked ‘em myself. It was not easy work, let me tell you.” Luke chuckled as he walked in, shutting the door behind him. “Nice place.” He sarcastically said, staring at the cobwebs that littered the walls.
Y/N stared at him, unimpressed and unamused. “Being claimed was supposed to feel great. But I’m just back at square one again.” She huffed and took a strawberry Luke offered her. He sat beside Y/N, gesturing her to continue.
“You know, at least the Hermes cabin had another people. I’m stuck in this deserted cabin because my father finally decided that he wanted to see me! All I’m wondering is why it took so long. Why bother claiming me now?! Percy got claimed in under five days. I know people who have been claimed in one. Why did it take me ten years?! At least I know why I always attract trouble now. It’s because Zeus, that utter man whore, is my dad!”
Luke’s eyebrows silently raised at her words. “You’re welcome in the Hermes cabin any time, Y/N. Don’t forget that. I don’t think your dad was ignoring you… he was probably just waiting.”
“Yeah. Waiting until I finally proved myself to him. Because a child of Zeus should be a prodigy. No normal feat is allowed. It has to be impressive to gain his attention. How dumb.” Y/N scoffed.
“I was fine without him. I’ve gone my entire life never hearing from him and after ten years of being at camp, suddenly he wants to play daddy? He should’ve left me alone. But hey, at least you guys have more room in the Hermes cabin. I heard Chiron was going to move me.”
“What? But you’re practically part of the family. I mean, not exactly. It’d be weird if we were related because… you know… we’re friends and being such good friends with siblings seems weird.” Luke spoke so fast that Y/N couldn’t understand him.
She silently stared at him. “… You’re weird. Chiron just wanted to make more room for the newcomers. And, you know, I had been there for so long that I wasn’t considered new.”
“You okay, though? Your cuts aren’t still hurting? You don’t feel sick, right?” Luke carefully inspected her face and bruised arms, eyebrows furrowed in worry.
“Luke, I’m fine.” She reassured him, laughing. “Nothing hurts anymore.”
“Guess I’ve got to let you win the next game now.” He sighed. “I can’t believe you guessed Poseidon and got it right.”
“I took a wild guess. I wasn’t expecting it to be correct.”
Luke shrugged and stood up. “I need to go check up on some kids. A new group just arrived. Will you be alright by yourself? I can always go get Clarisse.”
Y/N stared up at him and a part of Luke wished she would ask him to stay. To stay in the stuffy cabin and just… talk.
“I think I need some alone time right now.” She softly smiled, resisting the urge to ask him not to walk out, to keep her company. “I just need to process all the shit that went down.”
Luke chuckled, ruffling her hair. “That’s my girl.” He began to walk away before he turned around last minute. “Hey, Y/N… thanks for staying by my side.”
“No problem. Thanks for being my friend, Luke.”
With a wounded heart and the embarrassment of being friend-zoned hanging high over his head, Luke walked out of the Zeus cabin.
Y/N didn’t see Luke again until a few days later. He was always so busy with the new kids but he still had time to leave a small box of strawberries on her porch.
It was dinner when Y/N could finally speak to Luke. She smiled at him and subtly waved and he grinned back. He had been talking with Chris about a boring topic but his eyes lit up when he saw Y/N. Luke stood up to sit with her before he was quickly intercepted.
“Luke.” One of the new girls said, staring up at him with her big doe eyes. She was claimed the moment she stepped into camp by Aphrodite. She seemed to already be her mother’s favourite. “Are you free to sit with me and my friends? We want to ask you a few questions.”
Luke was pulled away by the girl, leaving Y/N to watch him sheepishly grin. Y/N’s smile faltered. “I think he’s avoiding me.” She muttered to Percy, resting her cheek on the palm of her hand. She felt a twisted knot of jealousy well up as a girl giggled and grabbed Luke’s arm. And he let her.
The younger boy looked up in confusion. “Who? Luke? I don’t think so. Girls just seem to really like him.”
Y/N frowned but didn’t say anything else. She could only stare again as the girls around Luke laughed as he uttered something with a bashful smile.
“I’m turning in early.” Y/N said, standing up. She pushed her plate of dessert towards Percy, who slowly took it.
“You good?” He asked.
“Yeah. I’m not feeling well so I think I’m going to sleep early. Good night, Percy.” She deeply inhaled as she walked away, catching Luke’s attention.
“Excuse me, ladies. I’ll be back. I need to talk to someone.” He hurriedly got up, racing after Y/N. Percy, who was eating his second serving of cake, muffled a laugh. Luke was so whipped.
“Y/N.” The brunette boy finally caught up to her. He grabbed her arm, spinning her around. “Why are you leaving early? We haven’t talked for weeks so I thought we could use today to catch up.”
Y/N stared at him in confusion before she turned her head and quietly laughed. She covered her mouth to conceal the noise. “Luke… it’s only been three days.”
His face dropped and he cleared his throat. “I know… I was testing you. That’s all.” Yet his eyes looked at everything but Y/N. “So, how has your cabin been?”
“Lonely. It doesn’t feel the same without Chris ranting about Clarisse.” Y/N sighed, lightly biting the inside of her cheek.
“I’m not sure if I can rant about Clarisse like Chris but I could try keeping you company.” Luke offered, gazing at Y/N with eyes that begged her to agree.
She merely shrugged, not stopping Luke from strutting into her cabin and lying down on her bed. He outstretched his arms, confusing Y/N. “Hug.” Was all he said.
Y/N was never much of an affectionate person but Luke certainly was. His gestures ranged from secretly fiddling with her fingers to picking her up and swinging her around in the middle of the battle arena.
Begrudgingly, Y/N closed the distance between them. Luke grinned, pulling her closer. A few moments later, Y/N attempted to pull away. Luke prevented her from doing so. “Five more minutes.” He whispered in her ear.
But those promised five minutes turned into an hour.
And a peaceful hour turned into all night.
And all night turned into the sun rising and Clarisse waking the pair up.
“So this is where you’ve been hiding, Luke.” The Ares girl snickered, folding her arms over her chest. “Your siblings are wondering where you went. I assume by the lack of clothes on the floor that you two did nothing. How surprising for you, Luke.”
“Clarisse.” Y/N warned, sitting up.
“Okay, okay. I’m going. See you at breakfast, Y/N.” Clarisse sent her friend a teasing wink before she slithered off, laughing to herself.
“Sorry. I fell asleep.” Luke muttered, stretching. He not-so-subtly placed an arm around Y/N and when she didn’t shove him away, he smiled.
“It’s fine. I’ve already prepared myself for whatever gossip is about to spread around camp.” Y/N leaned back, shaking her head, while Luke chuckled.
“Nothing we haven’t dealt with before.” Luke retorted.
Camp Half-Blood seemed obsessed with the little thing going on between Y/N and Luke. Friendship, romance, confusing situationship. The campers called it many things.
“I’m so tired.” Y/N muttered, rubbing her tired eyes. Luke took that as his chance to gaze at her. His eyes traced over the bridge of her nose and the curve of her Cupid’s bow.
He smiled to himself, pressing his face deeper into the crook of Y/N’s neck.
“Luke. We need to get up.” As if suddenly uncomfortable with his close proximity, Y/N stood up.
“Oh. Yeah. I know how you can’t miss breakfast because you get cranky without it.” Luke chuckled while Y/N shoved him.
“Get out, Luke!” Y/N exclaimed, throwing a pillow at him. He bellowed out a laugh as he ran towards the exit.
“See you at breakfast, sweetheart!”
Y/N, with flushed cheeks and a racing mind, barged into the Ares cabin. “Clarisse.” She said, holding onto the doorframe for support. “I need your help.”
“What do you need?” Clarisse questioned as they walked side by side. Y/N sighed.
“Well, for starters, Luke is acting weird. I mean, he was always kind of weird but it’s gotten… more extreme. He’s getting so close and… calling me these pet names. What am I supposed to do? And why does it make me feel shy? Clarisse, help me!”
Y/N gripped her friend’s shoulders tightly. Clarisse lightly snorted. “Y/N, he’s just in love. Let the boy be.”
“In… love? W-With… me? In love with me?!” Y/N’s mind was spinning by now and it looked like this was her mid-life crisis. “He’s not… he can’t be… no… no… No! I have to go, Clarisse!”
Clarisse watched as Y/N sprinted off with the speed of a lightning bolt. “Haha. It’s so fun messing with them.”
“Hey, Clarisse. What’d you say to Y/N?” Luke immediately filled in Y/N’s spot. He furrowed his eyebrows, glancing at Y/N.
“I just told her how in love you are with her.” Clarisse winked and laughed at Luke’s appalled face.
“You… did what?” He questioned, panicking. “Why… why would you do that?! Clarisse! Shit!”
Luke, just like Y/N, rushed off. Clarisse smiled again. “So fun.”
Y/N hid within the comforts of her own cabin. She was supposed to teach some of the newbies archery but she was sure Clarisse could fill in for her.
“Luke… in love with me… no way.” She shook her head and deeply sighed, clutching onto her blanket. “He likes that Aphrodite girl.”
“Hey, sweetheart.” Speak of the devil. Luke opened the door, grinning at her. “Sorry I’m late. I tried meditating but I ended up falling asleep.” Classic him. “I brought you some food. I gotta teach some kids sword-fighting soon but I thought I’d just leave this here.”
Luke had one leg out of the door before Y/N stopped him. “Luke, can you maybe, I don’t know… stay over tonight? Again? It feels less lonely with you.” Y/N spoke slowly, as if testing the waters.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah. Sure. I’d be happy to keep you company. You can count on me, Sparky.”
Y/N scoffed, staring at Luke with her lips parted. “Sparky? No way are you calling me that.”
“Too bad. See ya, Sparky!” Luke managed to close the door before the pillow Y/N tossed his way hit him. She scoffed, looking around yet no words came out of her mouth.
“Sparky… Sparky?!” Y/N exclaimed in disbelief. “What sort of nickname is that?!”
Luke, who stood outside the door and heard Y/N, chuckled. He ran his tongue over his teeth, “Cute.”
A quiet knock on the door interrupted Y/N’s half-conscious nap. She stumbled to the entrance, slowly twisting the knob. “Hey.” She mumbled to Luke, who was holding an armful of snacks.
“Hey, Sparky.” He greeted her with his usual boyish smile. “Did I wake you?”
“I was just taking a small nap. You can always let yourself in, by the way.” Y/N muttered, yawning.
“I didn’t wanna be rude.” Luke replied as he stepped inside, brushing past Y/N. “Hey. I have an idea.” He suddenly said, spinning around. Y/N raised her eyebrows, gesturing him to continue. “I know you don’t like hanging out in this cabin so what do you say we check out the lake?”
“That’s breaking the rules.” Y/N said, shaking her head.
“Come on, I wanna go on a walk. And I’m already breaking rules being here. A few more can’t hurt.”
Y/N wanted to say no but how could she when Luke was looking at her like that?
“Fine.” She softly agreed. Luke dropped the snacks onto Y/N’s bed before dragging her out of her cabin. She didn’t even have time to grab a jacket.
Luke placed a finger over his lips, telling Y/N to be quiet. The two carefully creeped through the words, quietly giggling as they shoved each other.
“It’s prettier at night.” Y/N whispered, staring at the lake that sparkled in the moonlight. Luke smiled, nodding his head.
“Yeah.” He replied, but he wasn’t looking at the glittering water. He was looking at Y/N. “It’s absolutely beautiful.”
Y/N turned her head, faltering when she saw that Luke was already gazing at her. His lips curved into a bright smile.
“So, so… beautiful.” He repeated, staring into her eyes.
“Luke.” She muttered, thickly gulping. Butterflies swirled around in her stomach. After years of pushing down her growing feelings for Luke, they were coming back.
“Y/N.” He chuckled, adjusting his stance. But he slipped and fell into the lake. Y/N gasped, staring into the murky darkness.
“Luke?” She called out. “Luke!” He resurfaced, spitting out a mouthful of water. A few moments passed before Y/N burst into laughter. She stepped forward but tripped over a stray tree root. She hit the water with a loud slap, shocking Luke. He gasped, quickly swimming over. “Sparky, you good?” Luke questioned, holding her tightly.
She coughed. “It hurt a little but I’m good. Are you okay?”
“Yeah. Yeah. I’m good. Thanks for asking, Sparky.” He twirled a strand of Y/N’s wet hair around his finger, his gaze flickering to her lips. “Don’t kill me for this, Y/N.” He whispered, leaning forward.
His lips pressed against Y/N’s, who froze in shock. The kiss only lasted a moment before Luke pulled away, holding back the animalistic urge to do it again.
“I won’t kill you… if you don’t kill me.” Y/N quietly responded, grabbing Luke by the front of his shirt and tugging him forward.
The second kiss was less controlled, more wild. Luke held Y/N tightly, scared she would slip away if he lowered his guard. In this moment, Luke didn’t care about his drenched t-shirt or his soaking hair. All he cared about, and had cared about for the last few years, was the girl in front of him
“You kissed?!” Clarisse screamed, tugging on the ends of her curled hair.
“Hey! I don’t want everybody to know!” Y/N hurriedly shushed the girl. They were hanging around in the arena for some extra sword training and Y/N clumsily mentioned last night.
“Okay, but seriously. Reel back. You guys kissed? Not once, but twice? Oh, man, Y/N. You are so whipped for Luke!”
“I am not! Besides,” Y/N fidgeted with her fingers as she spoke, “I heard one of the new Aphrodite girls is interested in Luke.”
“What? And you’re just gonna let her have him? You’ve been crushing on Luke since you first saw him.”
“I wouldn’t call it that! It was admiration.” Y/N quickly snapped to defend herself. Clarisse mockingly raised an eyebrow.
“You couldn’t stop gushing over how he pushed you out of harm’s way when you got claimed.” The Ares kid pointed out.
Y/N huffed. “I mean, I’m a feminist, obviously. But… I wouldn’t really mind him saving me. I’m not entirely opposed… to the idea. I’m just torn, okay?!”
“What are you confused about? Luke obliviously has the hots for you too.”
“Luke and I have been good friends for ages! I’ve known him for ages too! If we start dating and it goes up in flames… I don’t only lose a partner but I also lose a friend! There’s so many factors to consider. So many things that could go wrong.”
“You already kissed. Sooner or later, he’s gonna confront you.” Clarisse’s eyes flickered to a figure behind Y/N, “And looks like he chose now. You wanna talk to him or do you want me to make a distraction?”
“Distraction, please. I’m not ready. I need to understand my own feelings before dealing with his.” Y/N practically begged Clarisse. Being such a good friend, the daughter of Ares nodded.
“I got your back, girl.” She walked past Y/N, blocking Luke’s path. “Yo, Luke, you interested in having a little spar?”
“Uh, actually, I need to talk to Y/N.” Luke uttered, glancing over at the H/C-haired girl.
“Y/N needs to check on someone. One of the Ares kids got badly injured. You go ahead, Y/N. I’ll be with you soon.” Clarisse waved her off. Y/N silently hurried off, avoiding all eye contact with Luke.
She wasn’t ready to face him just yet. I mean, what do you say to a friend you kissed? More like made out with. And passionately, might I add. Beside a lake at night.
Y/N knew Luke would go looking for her an hour before curfew, so that’s exactly why she sought refuge in the Ares cabin.
“This feels stupid.” She murmured as she rolled under one of the bed, shooing the dust away.
“He’s obviously going to try and ask Clarisse about your whereabouts. You only have to hide under there until he leaves.” Erin, a girl who was a year younger than Y/N, spoke. As predicted, Luke knocked at the door.
“Hey.” He said when Erin swung it open. “Is Y/N or Clarisse here? I need to talk to ether of them but Y/N would be preferred.”
Erin shook her head. “No. Clarisse is showering right now. Maybe check Apollo’s cabin for Y/N. She might be helping out with the injured. She does that sometimes.”
The second Luke disappeared, Y/N crawled out from under the bed. She combed away the dust in her hair. “I know what you’re thinking.” She grumbled, looking up at Erin. “Why am I going through all this trouble? It’s complicated. I’m not ready to face him… yet.”
Erin hummed as she stepped towards Y/N. “None of us will be helpful with advice but if you really want help, visit the Aphrodite cabin.”
That’s how Y/N found herself standing on a porch decorated with pink and hearts and shining pearls. She sighed to herself before she hesitatingly knocked. A short blond girl answered the door immediately.
“We’ve been waiting for you.” She said while Y/N stared at her in discomfort. “Not in a creepy way, though. I swear. We knew you’d need help with you-know-who so we kind of planned it already. Come in.”
The girl warmly guided Y/N inside, beaming. “Our head counsellor isn’t here at the moment but Mai should be plenty of help!” The blond girl pointed over to a brunette who sat on her bed, reading a book. She was dressed in black shorts and a pink crop top. But when Mai looked up, Y/N was sure she was judging her.
“On second thought,” Y/N nervously said, “Maybe I should come back another time. Maybe in the afternoon?”
“The time you come doesn’t matter.” Mai piped up, closing her book. She gazed at Y/N curiously. “You’re afraid of expressing your feelings, aren’t you?”
“I didn’t know this was a therapy session.” Y/N lightly joked.
“Y/N, it’s obvious to everybody that you harbour some feelings towards Luke.” Mai said, pressing her pink-tinted lips into a thin line. “You guys are like the dynamic duo. I understand that dating someone who’s also a friend is scary but sometimes you’ve got to take the risk.”
“If you’re scared about going back to your cabin and running into Luke, you can crash here for the night.” The blonde girl from before offered. Nobody else seemed to have any problems with that so Y/N agreed.
She ended up on the bunk next to Mai, her unlicensed love therapist. Y/N tossed and turned but she still couldn’t fall asleep. She quietly groaned, rubbing her eyes.
“Can’t sleep either, huh?” Mai piped up, pursing her lips.
“No. I can’t help but worry.”
“Let me ask you one question, Y/N. Do you like him?”
“Luke?”
“I didn’t say a name.”
Y/N groaned again. “Fine. You got me. Yes. I guess I like him. I like his smile and how he’s always giving me food and how he barges in when I’m feeling lonely. I think his curled hair is adorable and there’s no other guy better-looking than him to me. But… I’m scared that I just like his platonically. Or what if we do date and I end up losing him?”
Mai smiled. “Don’t stress over it too much. You’re the daughter of Zeus, after all.”
“Yeah, thanks. Good night, Mai.”
“Night, Y/N.”
Luke approached Y/N the next day at breakfast. He let out a subtle sigh of relief when she didn’t run away. “Hey,” He whispered to her, tapping her shoulder and interrupting her conversation with Erin and Clarisse. “Can we talk? Alone?”
“Uh, yeah.” Y/N exchanged looks with both of the girls, who nodded and mouthed good luck. “What did you want to talk about?” Y/N asked when they were in the safety of her cabin and away from all the prying eyes. She played with the hem of her bright orange shirt.
“Forgive me for how blunt I’m going to be but what are we, Y/N?” Luke asked, not beating around the bush.
“We’re friends.” Y/N choked out, her conversation with Mai last night going down the drain. Perhaps it was selfish but a part of her wanted to remain friends because at least that way, neither of them would get hurt.
“No.” Luke wildly shook his head, “Friends don’t kiss. Friends don’t spend the night in the other’s cabin. Friends don’t look at each other like we do. Friends don’t sneak out in the middle of the night to go to a lake and end up making out! And now you’re ignoring me!”
His voice increased in volume the more he spoke.
“That was a mistake, Luke! I-I didn’t meant to! It just happened! I’m not ignoring you! What makes you think that?!”
“Well, what am I supposed to think, Y/N? You’re always running off and our conversations are up and down now. Sometimes we don’t talk for days! Sometimes you seem obsessed with me! I don’t know what to think!”
“That’s rich, coming from you!” Y/N furrowed her eyebrows. “If you’re not with Chris then you’re with that Aphrodite girl! You practically ignore me when you’re with her!” Y/N harshly poked his chest.
“I do not! And back to the previous conversation, was it really a mistake? Was hugging me a mistake? Was staring so adoringly at me a mistake? Was kissing me a mistake?! Maybe it was a mistake to you, but it wasn’t to me.” Luke caressed her face, holding it tightly. “Kissing you… will never be a mistake to me. Never, ever.”
Y/N gulped, practically shaking in Luke’s embrace. His lips lightly brushed her’s and she flinched.
“Sparky- Princess- Y/N,” He finally decided on what to call her in the heated moment. “I have feelings for you. And I have for a long time. So if you don’t like me back… just tell me. Because I can’t spend the rest of my life chasing after you. I get that you might be in denial but once I walk through those doors, I’m giving up.”
“Luke…”
“Do you like me or not?”
“Luke… please…” Y/N didn’t really know what she was begging for. Tears welled up in her eyes as he took a small step towards the door.
“Do you like me or not?” He repeated in a firmer tone.
Y/N silently stared at the ground, her hands clenched into fists.
“I guess I was wrong about you returning my feelings… I’m sorry for bothering you. I’ll leave now.”
Y/N’s body moved on its own as she reached out to grab his arm and harshly pull him back. Her voice was supposed to be gentle but hanging out with Clarisse seemed to have an impact on her.
“Of course I like you, Luke! How could I not? But I’m afraid and confused and I don’t know what to do. I see the way other girls look at you. They like you. And I’m scared that I don’t stand a chance against them. And what if we mess up, Luke? If we date then break up, we won’t be able to be friends again. I can’t handle that!”
“I don’t think I can be just friends with you right now, Y/N.” Luke softly replied, taking Y/N’s hand in his and pressing a light kiss to it. Y/N stared at him with flushed cheeks. “I don’t care about any of those other girls. The only person I care about is you. We don’t have to rush into a relationship but I just need to hear you say that you like me. That’s all I need for now. Can you do that for me?”
Y/N shakily inhaled. “I…” She hesitated. “I like you, Luke.”
Luke pulled her into a hug, smiling as he inhaled the sweet scent of Y/N’s perfume. “That’s all I needed to hear, Sparky.”

Aggressive Love
Clarisse La Rue x fem!reader
Clarisse has never been very good at showing her affection to her crushes, so when one day she crosses the line she starts to realize she needs to confess to a couple of things.
Warnings: None, boring plot
A/N - TAKING CHARACTER X READER REQUESTS!!!
Not long after you arrive at camp you meet the Ares girl. Clarisse La Rue was not ashamed to make her name known, but the way she did it did not sit well with you.
Luke was walking you around showing you the ropes and trying to find your special thing, when she walked by.
“Seems like you got yourself a new girl” Clarisse spoke with her arms crossed, stepping in front of the two of you with her siblings by her side.
“Be nice she’s new” Luke spoke up and the girl rolled her eyes.
For someone big on first introductions, Clarisse was not cutting it for you. Her attitude made you scrunch up your face in annoyance and that did not go unnoticed by anyone.
Clarisse simply looked you up and down before walking away “She is not someone you want to get in a fight with” Luke spoke pushing you along.
As the week passed you found yourself getting along alright. The Hermes cabin fits you well, even though it technically isn’t your cabin. And everyone seemed to like you.
Except for Clarisse.
Multiple people asked her why she hated you, and truthfully she didn’t even know why. You never even talked to her, but that face you gave her said it all (or at least that is what she kept telling herself)
You are quiet, often found walking around, practicing archery, or helping your friends. You were not disrupting people’s peace, or getting into fights and starting arguments, like her.
She told herself that the reason she didn’t like you was because of how you two are the complete opposites, and that she had a feeling being together would only end badly.
So to make herself feel even better, she started getting into small arguments with you, just to prove to others and herself that she was right.
The first time she did it, it was at the lake. She saw you sitting there alone, no one else around, and took the opportunity to approach you.
She had a scowl on her face as she stood in front of you, blocking your view.
“Having fun?” She asked, which only made you raise your gaze and shrug your shoulders “Yeah I guess why?”
She scoffed, quickly thinking of a lie “Luke has been looking for you all over, he needed your help and you let him down. I was right about you.” She mumbled the last part, shaking her head and looking off.
Hearing this, you became worried, not wanting to upset Luke anymore you got up and ran to find him.
When you did he looked at you with a confused look, and you only then found out it was all a lie.
The next couple of days, Clarisse would follow you around, throw things at you, and start small brawls which you would never really even participate in.
Then finally one day you had enough.
She had followed you into the woods, calling you names and once again bringing up the fact your godly parent hadn’t claimed you.
You finally stopped and looked at her “Why do you hate me?” You asked in a fed-up voice which caught her a bit off guard.
In any other argument you always sounded sarcastic, or like you were having fun with it. But this time she noticed that you genuinely seemed upset. Maybe it’s because she crossed a line, bringing up your godly parents.
“Answer me.” Your gentle voice got her attention once more and her mouth opened but quickly shut.
“I have done nothing to you and yet you hate me every day.” Clarisse furrowed her brows looking down at the ground.
A feeling of regret started in her stomach, and she watched as you walked off.
For the next week, she thought to herself, what she should do, or if she should even do anything.
Finally, she decided to go to Luke.
When she sat next to him and asked for his help, he let out a soft laugh, leaning back with his arms crossed. But then he noticed how serious she was, she didn't have a scowl on her face, or any sign of annoyance, just a straight expression.
“She hates me”
“Do you blame her?” Luke spoke, picking at his food and shoveling it in his mouth. Clarisse only frowned and looked as though she was about to leave. “If you aren't going to help me then I'm just gonna leave.”
“Sit down” he mumbled and she did.
“Why do you only now want to become her friend?” Luke asked with curiosity, his curly hair falling into his eyes and he stirred his peas around on his plate.
“I don't know,” Clarisse answered, her voice sounding softer than it usually does. “You like her don't you.” He spoke up as he turned his gaze to her. Clarisse seemed startled by what he was saying, maybe she did like her, and was just … afraid of what the others would say.
Luke didn't need an answer to know he was right. 2 years ago something just like this happened with her and a girl in the Hermes cabin, except Clarisse never did anything and the girl continued to think that she hated her.
“If I were you, I'd maybe start by apologizing to the girl and giving her something she likes,” Luke stated as he started to stand up from the table. “Like what?” Clarisse mumbled, her reaction time a bit slow, which was strange for the Ares girl.
“She told me she likes flowers, maybe go pick some.”
Clarisse hated flowers.
“Okay”
That night Clarisse got one of the Demeter kids to give her some flowers, and she marched over to your cabin.
She knew that each clear night you always sat outside, so seeing you sitting on the steps to your cabin was no surprise.
Except the boy next to you was.
She faltered for a moment, feeling even dorkier than before, her arms dropped to her side, the flowers slouching slightly.
But she kept going, “Scram” she shouted at the boy with a scowl on her face. The boy sighed stood up and mumbled “Night Y/n”
Clarisse took a moment to stare at you, how the moonlight made you so beautiful.
Then she locked in and stuck out the flowers for you. “Here” she spoke again with that same scowl on her face, you nervously reached up to grab the flowers and gave her a small smile “Thanks … but why”
Clarisse sat down next to you, at first your legs touched but she quickly moved over. “Because I've been a dick.” she sighed and looked over at you.
She memorized how pretty you looked in her head.
You let out a soft laugh and nodded your head “That's true … I’m surprised you are owning up to it.”
“Don't get used to it” she chuckled, which made you turn to look at her.
“A little birdie helped me realize something.” she spoke again after a moment of silence “Was it Luke?” you asked and she nodded her head “How do you know?”
“Because if anyone else tried to help you realize something they'd end up in the infirmary and everyone in camp would know,” you responded with a smile.
Clarisse nodded her head, gently biting onto her lip trying to suppress her smile. “Yeah I guess you’re right about that.” her head dipped down slightly as she looked at her hands.
“Luke helped me realize how much of an idiot I was.”
You smiled as you looked up from the flowers you had been trawling around in your hands. You hummed slightly and nodded your head in agreement to which she rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue.
“I like you.” she mumbled finally, “Do you?” she hummed in response, and for a moment you swear you could see a faint blush on her face. “I've been told I'm an aggressive lover, I guess to some people it might be hard to know it’s affection I'm trying to show and not …”
“Hatred? Yeah, it would've probably been best to clarify that before throwing toilet paper at me.” You laughed softly which caused her to show more of a blush.
After a few seconds you nudged her shoulder “You’re lucky you're so pretty … or maybe I wouldn’t forgive you.”
She looked up at you with a small smile, your legs were touching slightly, but the two of you did not seem to care.
A piece of her hair fell in front of her face, and you were quick to brush it away.
If it was anyone else touching her, Clarisse was sure they'd already be dead, not only that she was sure that her father was probably groaning at how sappy they were behaving, but she couldn't care at the moment.
You kept your gaze connected with hers, and it didn't take long for Clarisse to act on her desires and kiss you softly.
A/N - y'all I don't know what I just wrote, and I know I didn't represent our girl right!!

Part 24: every color that you are
"Don't let nobody tell you your life is over. Be every color that you are." -Rush by Aly & AJ
Regent Masterlist A03 Mundane Macabre Part 23
Turns out, Danny’s hearing is good enough to pick up the baby’s new heartbeat.
With an assurance that she did not in fact have a parasitic alien in her stomach, Jazz revealed her tiny bump with a smile and swore him to secrecy.
“But Jazz, this is great news!”
“It’s not like we’re not going to tell anyone and show up for dinner one day with a newborn in tow, Danny. It’s just until the second trimester.”
“Which would be?”
“The one after the first.” Jazz deadpanned.
Danny snorted and rubbed the back of his neck for a moment before a smile came to his face.
“I’m gonna be an uncle.” He said with what Jazz deemed as the proper reverence for such a statement.
“Yes, you are.” Jazz agreed, opening up her arms like she used to when they were both so much younger. And as he did them, he now came to her with unmistakable love for his sister plain to see. Tucking him close to her, head under her chin, Jazz spoke again, “And you’re gonna be a great one.”
After a few minutes Danny pulled back from the hug with a relaxed slump to his shoulders, like a weight had been lifted from them.
“So you weren’t sick, you were sick.” The emphasis on the last word made Jazz roll her eyes.
“Morning sickness, yes.”
“At night?”
Jazz laughed, “Afternoon too.”
“That sucks.”
The two stared at the other, warmth in their auras for their sibling, Danny breaking the silence with, “Janus.”
“What?”
“Danny Janus Nightingale, if you’re looking for baby names.”
“Danny!”
“See! It’s a great name! Just rolls off the tongue!”
“I am not naming my kid Danny.” Jazz firmly declares.
“But-” “Or Dante, or Danielle, or any variations of Danny.” She adds, cutting off her brother’s words.
He huffs, but seems more amused than anything else.
“There’s enough Dannies in the world already.” For a moment they both think about their siblings- both cloned and alternate reality born- and shudder. Oh yeah, three people were more than enough for the world. (Considering Dan was technically possessing an empty clone body of the original Danny and was off on another mission from Clockwork to indulge his hatred of the Flash Family’s timeline antics.)
(The weirdest part of that whole thing was that Dan and Danny could pass as identical twins until Dan went ghost- he still retained his brickhouse vampire visage.)
(Ellie had left Gotham to restart her adventuring, promising to be back soon enough.)
(Ellie, the Wrath, was an unholy combination of Vlad and Danny.) (Jazz had been livid when they finally told her that particular tidbit, including how Vlad had gotten enough of his DNA.) (Could she travel back in time to kick his ass again?)
(She had the distinct impression that Clockwork wouldn’t mind doing her that favor, as long as the vampiric halfa ended in his eternal casket all the same.)
“I’m happy for you Jazz.” Danny said, breaking Jasmine out of her thoughts.
“Thanks Danny.” She replied, “You know you’re gonna have to fight the other batboys for the title of favorite uncle, right?”
The halfa cackles in manic glee. “I’m gonna enjoy every second.”
They continued about their day, though with Danny increasingly obvious with his hovering.
“I’m not gonna suddenly keel over.” Jazz told him with a bored tone as she organized her and Jason’s bookshelf. “Sorry…just…its really weird hearing a second heartbeat.” Danny admitted with a sheepish expression before he perked up, “Gotta tell Ellie and Dan!”
“Wait, Danny!” Jazz called, trying to catch his attention as he zipped towards his room, where his Phantom Phone was stashed away. There was no way she could catch him before he started dialing his other siblings, but Jazz managed to reach the doorway as Dante, then Ellie, picked up the three-way call.
“Danny!” Jazz tried again.
“Ellie, Dan, good news!”
“Shit!” Jazz lunged for the phone, barely missing it as Danny dodged out of her reach.
“Was that Jazz?” Ellie questioned, concern leaking through the phone thanks to the Ecto.
“What’d you do now, pipsqueak?”“Don’t!” Jazz yelled.
Danny paused, giving her a confused look as she finally caught his arm in a death grip. “What’s wrong?”
“Jason and I agreed to wait until its…safer to tell people.” Jazz enunciated the word clearly, trying to convey the severity of her statement.
“What?” “What’s going on?” Ellie questioned again.
“Are you alright, Jazz? Do you need us?” Dan asked, brusque voice inflecting with a concern matching Ellie’s own.
(Thankfully none of the halfas had the ablilty to make portals.)(They’d have been here within the second.)
“I’m fine.” Jazz reasured. “Danny learned something and he didn’t know that I was keeping it secret for a little while longer.” she clarified.
“You’re not dying, right?” “Template said it was good news, Alt, how would that be good news?”
“At least we know where she’d be going.”
“As soon as I can, I’ll let Danny tell you.” Jazz offered before a verbal arguement could ensue.
“Promise?” “I promise Ellie.”
“You be safe.”
“I will, Dan. Love you both.”
“Love ya!”
“Love you too.”
WIth that Danny hung up, still quiet and having not bothered to say his own goodbyes. The excitement had been visibly drained out of him.
“Sorry, Jazz.”
She sighed, “It’s alright, I know you’re excited to be an uncle.”
“Yeah…” the halfa trailed off, “I’m gonna go out early.” He transformed and vanished through his bedroom wall without waiting for her to reply. “Lovely.” Jazz said outloud to nobody. Now she’d worry about whatever made Danny upset.
Regardless, her and Jason had made the decision as a couple, with the exception of Alfred and now Danny, for the majority to know after Jazz officially entered the second trimester. The next ultrasound, with the pictures in hand, would be a good marker for when they could. Jason would probably want to screw with his adoptive father by making him the last to know, which Jasmine could understand considering the Bat’s obsessive need to know every tiny detail. It would be glorious for him to be left out of the loop.
Was it a bit mean to delay telling a “loving” father that they’re soon to be a grandparent? Perhaps.
Then again, Bruce Wayne had spectacularly failed her soulmate in life and in death- she had been the one to avenge him. She had given peace to the angry sprits. It should have never been on Jason’s shoulders, much less Jasmine’s responsibility, to rid the world of the demented clown. (Guess what place has the death sentence?)(Ethiopia!) Batman didn’t have to personally end the Joker. All Bruce Wayne had to do was use his ability of ‘rich white man’ to have Bozo tried and sentenced in a place where he couldn’t use a plea of insanity. Alas, the Bat was always going to write off the Bruce persona.
Even Jasmine, the Regent of the Infinite Realms, understood the necessity of using every card in the deck to one’s advantage. That’s how she got the regency.
Jazz didn’t hate Batman. She couldn’t, if only because he was a mere shadow of what could’ve been a good man- a concept turned reality of a hero. However, Jazz can hate Bruce Wayne. She didn’t, not to the level she hated her parents and the GIW, because she didn’t wish him dead (yet), but she held his many faults against him.
For Jason’s sake too.
Whatever Jason wished for the man, Jazz would stand at his side. For as long as he would have her.
Jazz, with a wry smile, puts a hand to the small bump hidden under her clothes.
For as long as he’ll have us.
A/N: Happy New Years!
Shoutout to everyone over on A03 who guessed that Danny was hearing the heartbeat. He's kinda like superman where he keeps track of heartbeats, because of enhanced hearing.
Is this angsty enough for the 'Angst arc'? I can't wait to reveal what this arc was really supposed to be called, but didn't because spoilers. (small reminder that A03 uploads less frequently than tumblr, but with combined chapters for longer length and the Social Media AU.) Thanks for reading!

TEASER BELOW THE CUT (APPROX. 500 WORDS)
“It’s a warm morning out,” your mother murmured, then quickly added, “hey you.” She knocked her hand against your arm.
“Hm?” You asked as you finished up Alice’s braid and tied it off with the blue Cinnamoroll hair tie she’d chosen. You patted her back with your hand. “You’re done.”
Your little sister hopped to her feet. “Thanks!” She dashed away and out of the room—to where, you had no clue. You figured she knew where the food was if she was hungry.
You angled your body to squish your side against the couch cushions and face your mother. “What were you saying?”
“Ah, I was going to talk to you about the Joshua Hong boy.”
Joshua Hong. You didn’t realize you could hear a man’s name so often within twelve hours.
You made a gesture with your hand. “What about the Joshua Hong boy, Mom?”
“Well, isn’t he a handsome one?” She asked you enthusiastically, straightening. It was alarming how bright her face just got. “I spoke to his mom while Kevin and I were walking just now, and he’s only a few years older than you, you know.”
You heard a metaphorical record scratch. What? There was so much in that one sentence that you needed to unpack. You raised your hands to signal her to pause. “Wait, since when do you and Kevin take walks together?” What could they have been talking about? You knew Kevin was an exceptional conversationalist, but never in your time at the lake had you known of this interaction.
Your mother blinked. “Oh, we started the tradition when you didn’t come up with us that one year.”
“Tradition?” So this happened more than once? You didn’t know why you were so scandalized by this information—it was just Kevin after all. You knew your parents, and even your siblings, were all fond of him—of course they were. You were arguably even more fond of him, but that wasn’t the point. You hoped she hadn't said anything about you and him as an item at any point in time… you trusted that Kevin could handle that though; that was what the pact was for, after all.
“Why are you making such a big deal out of this?” She arched a brow. “But anyway, yes, so we bumped into Josh’s mom on the last leg around the lake, and she mentioned that he’s majoring in chemistry and planning to go into medicine. You guys might have something in common."
You pursed your lips. Perhaps the two of you might have something to talk about, but your track was pre-veterinary rather than pre-med. There was probably a middle ground though... Maybe you were just being stubborn.
“Just make friends or something,” she said to you while standing up from the couch. “You need more of those.”
Your eyes shot wide open. “Hello? Mom?” Now that was simply uncalled for.
She chuckled impishly as she walked away and disappeared down the hall, leaving you to yourself. You were lucky neither of the twins were here to hear that burn.

Soulmates? Soulmates. Pt. 4
Word Count: 2127
Summary: History, Boats, Waterfalls, and missions to find the missing Princes
Warnings: mentions of Y/n’s history, canon typical violence, bad grammar probably, let me know if I missed anything.
A/n: Hello and welcome to part 4 of my Soren soulmate Au. I’m sorry if it feels a little rushed. I just wanted to get it out in honor of the new season dropping on Netflix, but I might come back and edit it later. Anyways, enjoy and as always remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Part 1 - Series Masterlist
After stepping out of the boat, Callum and Ezran pulled it on to shore so it wouldn’t float away while we rested. Once they were sure the boat would not be floating away, my companions all turned to look at me. “We found a place to stop so care to explain,Y/n.” Callum said he didn’t sound completely upset about the news.
Sighing I sat on a log near the beach we had stopped on. “It’s a bit of a long story, but you guys have a right to know.” I motioned for the three to sit down before I continued. I explained everything, how my parents were a human and an earthblood elf that decided being together as soulmates was more important than the stupid feud between the kingdoms. I told them how for the first years of my life we were happy, I told them that when I was five my parents took me to see a Moonshadow elf who gave me the necklace I used to wear. Hell even cried when I told them about how soldiers killed my parents in front of me all because my father was an elf. I finished by telling them how Harrow and Sarai took me in.
“Wow, I, just wow. I’m sorry you had to go through that Y/n.” Callum said, looking at the ground. I just gave him a gentle smile, it wasn’t an apology in the sense of feeling at fault but of sympathy.
“It’s okay. Sure it was rough and I don’t think I’ll ever really be over it, but at least I got two of the best siblings I could have asked for.” I said moving to hug my brothers. “Now it’s late, we should probably get some rest before the sun comes up.” I told them, knowing we would all need sleep.
As Callum and Ezran both curled up on the rough ground, Rayla moved to sit closer to me. “Does your soulmate know?” She asked.
I smiled at the young girl. “Yeah, he knows. He’s known since we were younger, I had gotten hurt and was thinking to myself how it sucked that I couldn’t heal myself or I'd be found out, and he heard it. After that I told him the whole story.” I explained. “You know you should get some rest too. Don’t spend too much time worrying about me, I got this covered. Plus with the way your hand looks, you should save your energy for finding a way to get that binding off.” I told the girl nudging her to go lay down and sleep.
She nodded before going and laying down on the ground. I stayed in my spot on the log for a few more minutes, just thinking of how much has changed in the last two days. Once I started to doze off from being awake for so long, I moved to lean against the log instead and fell asleep listening to the sounds of the nearby river.
As the sun rose, I was awoken by the light shining in my eyes. I took in my surroundings, Callum was awake propped against the log messing with the cube he wanted from the Banther Lodge, Ezran was just laying on his back with bait, and Rayla appeared to be sleeping. Running my hand threw my hair, I paused when I was reminded that now my horns were no longer hidden. God I’m gonna have to get used to this. I thought to myself, before watching Callum move to hover his cube over Rayla.
He had the dumbest smile on his face as he waved it over her causing the moon rune to light up everytime it was close to her. “This doesn't end well for you.” Rayla said, waking up taking hold of Callum’s hand.
Callum stumbled back as he spoke up. “Last night, you thought the cube was just a worthless toy. But now we know-"
"It’s a glow toy.” Rayla cut him off looking less than pleased. I couldn’t help but laugh at the interaction. “I’m going to find some food.” She was about to walk away when Ezran popped up.
“Wait, we’ve got food. We grabbed a sack of bread from the Banther Lodge.” He exclaimed holding said bag of bread.
Rayla looked at me as if asking if he was serious, I only shrugged in return. “I thought this was a sack of clubs.” She said, grabbing a piece, swinging the bread like a weapon. After a moment of her swinging the bread, she yelped dropping the bread on a rock below her feet cracking the rock.
I then watched with concern as my youngest brother picked up the, harder than rock, bread. “No, it’s food-ish.” He stated before attempting to take a bite out of it.
Rayla just shook her head, “I’m good” she said before leaving to find something actually edible.
Sighing, I walked to my brother. “Stop trying to eat that, it’ll break your teeth.” I said pulling the bread from the boy. I sat back on the ground near Bait deciding to wait for Rayla’s return. It was quiet for a few minutes as the boys did who knows what before I heard what sounded like crackling. Looking up I saw Callum holding the primal stone in one hand and a ball of lightning in the other. “What are you doing?” I exclaimed trying to figure out the novice mage’s thought process.
“I was trying to cast a spell I saw Caludia do but I think I only saw the first half.” He said before looking back at the ball of lightning in his hand and shouting. “Help! Help!” I stared at him in disbelief, how dumb can one kid really be.
After Callum’s shouts, Rayla came running out of the woods with her blades drawn. She also froze seeing the stupid predicament the boy got himself into. “What Happened?” Rayla asked me.
“He stupidly tried to copy a lightning spell, but he only saw the first half so now he’s holding onto a ball of lightning.” I explained.
I heard her sigh as she thought about what she just walked in on. “When you release a spell, there’s usually a word or a phrase or something in ancient draconic.” She stated.
“Okay uh, does anybody speak dragon?” Callum asked, looking around at the three of us. “I don’t speak dragon.” There goes Callum’s panicked rambling.
I thought for a moment. “You didn’t hear Claudia say anything?” I asked hoping he had at least heard the beginning of a word that could help us figure this out.
Callum paused for a moment thinking “No.” another pause “I mean, I think right when I grabbed her hand away, she might have called me a fool.” He looked to Rayla for help.
“Yeah, fool seems about right. Okay, give me a second. I know some draconic words. Just let me think.” Rayla responded, rubbing her temples trying to think of what could possibly be the release word for the spell Callum was attempting.
“Know what? I'm just gonna throw it.” Callum announced. And like the great responsible adult I am, I zoned out not wanting to deal with whatever was going to happen.
As Callum and Rayla bickered about whether or not he should throw the Primal Stone, I tried to talk to Soren. Hey Soren, any updates you can give me on what’s happening at the castle? I could tell he could hear me, but he didn’t respond. After trying a few more times I sighed wondering if he had been distracted and just forgot to respond. I can’t imagine he’s having an easy time being the captain of the crown guard and the princes being ‘kidnapped’.
I decided it was time to toon back into my surroundings when I heard Callum asking if Rayla was afraid of the water. “-but scared of a little splish-splashin'?” I watched as Rayla looked at Callum trying to think of a response.
“Aw, that’s cute.” Ezran said while holding Bait. I quickly looked around figuring out that everyone was ready to head out and we were just waiting for Rayla to agree to taking the boat.
I looked over at the boat before looking back at Rayla. “I understand your fear, but I have to agree with them. The boat would be faster and isn’t it best to save as much time as possible in our journey when possible.” I suggested earning a groan from the Elf.
“Fine, we'll take the stupid boat.” Rayla finally agreed before marching towards the boat, clearly feeling anxious about getting back on the water.
After we all got on the boat and let the river lead us closer to Xadia, I just watched the trees pass by. For the most part the boat ride was uneventful. Callum was asking Rayla questions to distract her from the fact we were on a boat, and Ezran was keeping Bait from playing in the water. It was smooth sailing until I heard the unmistakable sounds of rushing water. Looking ahead of us I noticed we were heading straight for a waterfall.
“Hey, guys we should probably try to steer back to the shore.” I said, trying to get the group's attention.
Callum looked up at what I was talking about, not hiding his smirk as he realized what was going to happen. Rayla also looked up, going pale at the sight of the drop off. “Pull the boat over.” She said, clearly fearing going over the edge.
Callum and I shared a look before he spoke up. “There’s no time.” Hearing that Rayla started to plead that we pull the boat over admitting her fears. The boy chuckled as we got closer to the rapids, “It’s too late, Hang on.” Callum exclaimed as we started to tip over the edge of the waterfall.
Time Skip
After surviving the plummet from the top of the waterfall and Rayla managing to save Bait from the monster in the lake, we took a short break to dry off. While Ezran and Callum comforted Rayla about her being brave and facing her fears, I decided to check in with Soren. How are things going at the castle? I asked him hoping to get an update on what was happening.
Things are going good I suppose. He quickly responded. Before I could ask what he meant by that he continued. Claudia and I are leaving in the morning to come search for you guys and bring you home. So could you tell me where you guys are so It can be done quicker?
I sighed, earning a strange look from traveling companions as we started walking again. I just waved them off before speaking to Soren again. I’m sorry, Soren but I can’t tell you where we are. You know as well as I do that I’m wanted and if you somehow magically find us without any struggle, it will be suspicious. I reminded him. Plus i already told you that we are going to return this egg to xadia and there is nothing anyone can do to stop us.
There was a pause before Soren responded. I guess you’re right. Can you at least still keep me updated on if you’re okay or not? He asked, and by the tone I could tell he sounded a little worried.
I will make sure to tell you if anything happens that could hurt me or my brothers. I assured him before closing our connection. I knew going on this trip in the first place would be difficult, but having to make sure I didn’t share details of where we are on the journey with Soren was going to be even more difficult.
Deciding it was best to not tell the others that we are going to be being tracked, I focused on making sure we got as far as possible before Soren and Claudia even began their journey. But as it was already quite dark out we didn’t get too far from where we had stopped by the river before having to call it a night. Stopping by a large tree with roots sticking out of the ground we all laid down for the night. Rayla and I each laid on the large roots of the tree, while Callum and Ezran chose to sleep on the ground.
I woke up to the sound of a twig snapping in the forest around us. Sitting up I made eye contact with Rayla, silently agreeing that she would go investigate while I kept an eye on my brothers. I waited patiently for her to return, hoping she would be back before the boys woke up.

I don't know why but I've always had these memories of Franklin, he was the monster under my bed that pretty much every kid had, at least in their heads. He was scary at first, he was very thin and tall with a ton of purple fur and some slightly crooked eyes and mouth, sometimes he'd be under the bed and other times he'd just be standing in the corner but I remember him gradually becoming that kind of imaginary friend that I thought every kid had, keyword "thought".
Over time I stopped seeing him in my room, I kinda missed the way he'd try to scare me but according to Mom & dad "That's just part of growing up", still I learned to live with it and almost forgot about him by senior year of high school. I had gotten home from school... 4:30ish I think? Mr. Buttersworth had given out another round of impossible AP Calculus homework so fully prepared to get into study mode and get it over with I walked past the kitchen planning to head straight upstairs as Mom spoke up.
"How was school honey?" She asked
"Fine" I shortly replied, already trying to work through the first homework questions in my head as I started climbing the stairs.
"Well make sure you get the trash out today hun, garbage collectors stop by tomorrow and I don't want you to forget-"
"Yeah yeah I got it" I tiredly said with bit of a dismissive wave, I don't really like it when I do that but my mind was somewhere else in that moment, I knew she probably wasn't happy with me after that though. I got into my room, thumped the bag down at my desk, sat down and got to work.
Several hours of trying to figure out what a 3rd derivative is later I'm still at my desk hunched over with the last of the twilight sun streaming through my window, I had gotten halfway through but it all just kinda turns into gibberish after a while. Exhausted, I slumped back in my chair 'I am so cooked tomorrow' I thought. Looking out the window I watched that last bit of the sun dip below the horizon I thought 'I wish I could leave this small town right now, just go to space and see the stars or something' My eyes lazily drifted down and to the left to where our driveway was and noticed it was empty. That was kind of odd, Mom & Dad had a big lego project going in the garage so the driveway was the only spot to park "One of them must be getting groceries" I murmured to myself, then I glanced down at my desk and... there was a loose tuft of purple hair on my desk.
"The hell?" I asked as I picked up the hair looked at it closer
I turned to the door to call for my sibling "Sophie did you leave your- OH MY GOD!"
I couldn't believe my eyes, Franklin was in my room again, but this time his back was against the door, holding it closed, a single claw-tipped furry finger across his lips in a shushing motion. I barely had time to process what was happening when I heard Mom calling from downstairs.
"Honey is everything alright?"
I was about to give her an answer when Franklin whispered across the room "that's not her"
I stood in shock for a couple seconds trying to understand what was going on when she called again, sounding somewhat close this time
"Honey?"
"Yeah Mom everything's fine!" I replied and hurriedly whispered to Franklin "dude i- how are you even here??"
"there's no time to explain, you gotta get out of here NOW" he quietly shot back.
"i think you have plenty of time to explain why I'm seeing my old imaginary frie-"
"imaginary?? oh whatever talk later escape now"
"what do you mean escape it's just mom-"
I was cut short as I heard a knock on the door
"Honey who are you talking to?" she said through the door
We both froze as she said that, I couldn't put my finger on it in the moment but something sounded... off
"N- no one Mom I'm just talking myself through some calc problems" Maybe a half-truth was enough for her?
"Oh alright, can I come in and check on you anyway?"
Now THAT wasn't normal, both Mom and Dad had made clear to both Me and Sophie that our rooms were ours and no one else could come in without explicit permission. I mean they'd usually walk in after a knock and a "come in" but Mom knows the kind of AP tests I'm studying for, if I'm locked in like that she leaves me alone with no ifs, ands or buts. In this moment I also heard another unusual sound: the car rolling in the driveway, I nervously peeked up over the windowsill to see who pulled in and... it was Mom, back with the groceries.
And then the gears in my head started turning more, the empty driveway, the off-sounding voice, I hadn't even looked at her when I walked in, who did I even walk past? Was garbage day even tomorrow? What about Sophie and dad where are they? My mind was racing more than it was earlier as Not-Mom sharply spoke:
"Open the door Spencer"
Full blown panic set in as I started looking around my room for exits or hiding places or... I don't know SOMETHING. I heard thumping on the door as I glanced over to Franklin bouncing off of it with each thump
"I SAID OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR YOUNG MAN!"
Not-Mom must've been wailing on the door as Franklin was holding it back with gritted teeth, he yelled
"THE BED! GET UNDER THE BED!"
"ARE YOU CRAZY? HIDING'S NOT GOING TO HELP!"
"THERE'S AN EMERGENCY ESCAPE HATCH UNDER THERE, TRUST ME!"
The thumping was even louder now as Not-Mom screeched in a furious tone
"YOU CAN'T SAVE THE BOY FRANKLIN! HE'S MINE! MINE YOU HEAR ME!? MINE!!!"
Nearly paralyzed with fear I had less than a second to consider my options, of which there were only 2: wait until whatever the hell was on the other side of my bedroom door busts through, or go with whatever hairbrained scheme my less-than-imaginary friend was telling me.
"OH FUCK THIS HERO BULLSHIT!" I screamed as I did probably the stupidest move I could think of: I leapt across the room towards Franklin, grabbed his hand and dragged him under the bed with me
The door blasted open in splinters in an instant as Not-Mom fell into my room with a heavy THUMP, the 2 of us were nearly frozen in terror as I looked up at the underside of my bed and saw... a perfectly circular metal hatch? I didn't really look down here much but last I checked my bed frame was wood... Regardless there was a keypad right next to it that Franklin was quickly trying to input some kind of passcode into and failing a few attempts with how much his fuzzy hand shook with adrenaline... was it adrenaline? Was Franklin even close to human? I had a million questions that I had exactly 0 answers for, and the shaking got worse as we heard something slither around the room. I looked over to a slimy, sickly looking yellow tentacle searching and probing around the room, I had to cover my mouth to muffle the gasp.., but it wasn't enough, the tentacle instantly locked on as I heard what sounded like a good beep from the keypad. The yellow tendril shot past me as I was suddenly yanked up into the hatch by some pulling force, I could hear echoing wails of despair from Non-Mom that ceased as I watched the hatch close as I traveled away from it.
I don't remember much of what happened after that, Franklin would later tell me that the hatch was some sort of transport thingamajig that used this... in-between space(?) as a way to get from one place to another. I don't really understand it but I remember it being vibrant with color that all blended together and overwhelmed all of my senses, and apparently forced my brain to reset as I faded from consciousness with tingling feeling of fur wrapped around my right hand.
Now in your mid teens, you forgot all about the monster under your bed. One night though, it wakes you up saying “You’re not safe. You need to get out of here”

The Willoughbys Ghosts (The willoughbys AU)
Chapter 2: The willoughby maid. (OC updated 2nd!)
Later at night in snow storm, A both unknown figures who wores a dark hood cape and walks in the street, stood infront of the old fashioned gates and see an old fashioned home "Father, are you sure this is the good idea?" The short one asked with holding a old fashioned briefcase (pefer as a suitcase) and birdcage with a pet parrot "Indeed...my child..." He replied before grabbing her cape to send her over to the gates in the front yard "Why would I have to be a part of Willoughby?" She asked him again, looking up at him with her blue eyes and a long redish-pink hair as the figure let out sigh and a sight glowing yellow eyes and a shadow rabbit ears.
"Child...Its your first time to be a job as a maid on todays date and they're might be traditions of a family... You must be careful with responsibilities and patient behaviors instead of misbehavior with difficulties..." A short one slowly places her hand to his large razor-sharp looking finger. "But all I did was babysit with a little siblings..." She replies and only hearing a parrot doing noises. "I may not be here with you for today until at middle night, I shall see you in the middle of a night. Good day, child..." For a last words of tall rabbit figure gently pulls away from her. he then walks off with a dark cape dragging down on a snowy ground as a girl watches him in the distances, leaving her off in the front yard. "Bye... see you later..." She waved him with saying goodbye before the lightning storm clapped, and he disappeared out of his sight in distances. She knew shes going to be part of a maid willoughby, and it's all up to her.
She walks down towards an old-fashioned house, wondering if someone was inside the home or eventually a family. Then suddenly...she knock the door and spoke out, "Hello! Is anybody home? I'm part of a Willoughby tradition from Michigan, and uhh...I can be your maid! May I command you to let me inside? It's really freezing, you know?" She smiled nervously with freezing, she heard a footsteps coming and old fashioned tall skinny man with a mustache showed up, scanning at her which he might think she's a part of a Willoughby or not "Hehe...hi." Suddenly, the door slammed shut in front of her, causing her to have a heart attack and still waiting until...the both skinny adults came out. "A maid willoughby!? *gasp* Oh, welcome! You must be a maid willoughby, right?" A skinny old fashioned lady asked and a short girl nodded "Y-Yeah, I could be your maid willoughby, like I clean, cook or does it have a coalbin-" The skinny sticks lady then cuts off "Come on in! They're might be a terrible cold outside." "I-I wasn't finished, lady!"
When they took her inside, she looked around with holding an old fashioned briefcase and looked around all those old fashioned furniture. "This looks pretty nice..." She replied, and the parrot did a noises again, but she looked at the stairs and noticed a four children came down here."Oh! Is this your children?" She asked for a skinny adults "Oh no! They're not my children at all!" For what she heard a skinny man say, she and the children went surprised. "Excuse me? You know those children are blood relative to you-" The skinny mustache man then cuts off "Oh, just kidding *chuckle* they're my children, honestly." A girl has no words , and did she find a lying craps that she would discover? She has a lots of questions in her mind. Who are those skinny adults? How come they dont take care of their children? Why does a lady hair look like Marge Simpson?
Why do they look like mosquitoes? What's wrong with their long nose? Where are their real names? Are they like Pinocchio? What happened to their organs and bones? Can they break like a stick? What in the world is going on in her mind?
"Sorry about that... it's just...my autistic disorder acting this by the way..." At least she said that. She felt like they've never knew what autistic disorder was "Anyways, should I introduce myself?" She commands them, and she spoke again. "My name was..."Grace willoughby," I prefer." She introduced to them,"Grace willoughby, it's very nice to meet you by the way, dear." A skinny mustache replied as Grace glances at the children on the stairs. "And who are those children?" She asked but the adults never replied for her and he whisper to her ear "We don't talk about them, thank you-" Grace cuts off again which she smack through his face so hard with sonic the hedgehog ring drop noises "Erm actually, I'm going to ask the children if i really never know their name...ugh his breathe is smell like fish...uhhh...Greetings, kids...I'm grace willoughby and...your name?" She replied, and the children began to introduce Grace.
Jane Willoughby: "Oh, I'm Jane! And those my twins brother are both name Barnaby's."
Barnaby (B): Hi grace.
Barnaby (A): Hi grace.
Jane Willoughby: And last one was "Phoebe"!
Jane noticed Phoebe looked little shy, she thinks Grace is a strange person who is hired by parents to be maid or she thinks Grace is a bad person "She just looks a little shy tho, Don't worry little sis, you can say hi to her!" Phoebe takes a deep breathe and begin to replied for Grace. "Hello, Grace...I-I'm Phoebe Willoughby, and this is my older siblings, by the way..."
Grace Willoughby: Oh its very to kind see you children! And do you have more siblings?
Grace ask them very kind of a way "Oh... we have an older brother, he's in the coalbin at the end downstairs basement." Jane said to Grace "Well, is he there for a whole time?" She asked as Grace walks towards the door at the end of a door until The skinny man blocks her path "Woah don't you go to my son's punishment, young lady-" Grace pushed him away so strong, at least his skinny body are look weak with a skinny bones by the way, once Grace head down to the coalbin, she notice someone's sat of piles on a coalbin and realized a boy who sat onto it, Grace couldn't believe why parents would've do such a thing to a Poor boy in this punishment "Jesus Christ... the hell happened to you...?" Her mind said "Well...hello, dear...it's very kind to see you, but why are you in coalbin for a whole time?" She asked as she went towards a boy, but he refused. He might think Grace is a strange willoughby with no blood relatives at all "*Sigh* Can you tell me what happened? It's okay if you don't want to tell me...You know I could be part of a maid willoughby, right?"
As Grace replied, Tim slowly turn his head to her as he notice she's not a stranger at all "...So your a tradition willoughby...?" Tim replied as Grace nodded in kind way until she notice there's a book on a coal bin "Wha- umm was it okay if I could take a look, dear?" She asked and It seems Tim didn't mind. Grace decided she had to take a look at the traditional book of willoughby's and what she found it was an image of a family dinner with mustaches. "...Is this...what you want?" She asked before Tim replied "Yeah...this all I've wanted, but we're supposed to be a perfect family. And the parents...never gave us some food..." For what Grace heard it, she felt bad for him because he didn't get to eat some leftover "*sigh* I'm sorry to hear that...uhh your name?" "Tim..." "Tim, I'm sorry to hear that tim... I knew your parents look neglectful to you and your siblings, but you know I can make dinner tomorrow, right? But have you celebrate a Christmas Eve before?"
Grace replied and Tim and the other siblings haven't celebrate Christmas eve every year, only parents are even Celebrating a Christmas without their own willoughby childrens "We didn't celebrate a Christmas Eve...my parents did celebrate Christmas Eve but instead of me and my siblings..." After Tim spoke, Grace felt bad how parents are treating their children like this in Christmas Eve every year, but all she wanted is to fix them so she can make feel better for the children. "I'm so sorry for you Tim...but i could fix it for you and your siblings tomorrow..." She replies as she walk off and she have to give a food to Tim "I'll figure it out for dinner tomorrow, is that alright?" Tim went silence and didn't get attention to Grace. He doesn't feel very happy. He looks even disappointed and neglected by their unloving parent. Grace walks up to the stairs and she have to cooks some leftovers for him and his siblings.
After giving leftovers to children.
In a hallway, Grace, Jane, Phoebe, and Barnabies are walking alone up in a hallway while having a conversation about what happened to Tim. "So Jane, what in the world happened to your older brother? Why is he in the coalbin for a whole time?" Grace replied to Jane. "Well, It happens when we need to have like a childish needs"
Phoebe Willoughby: Uhhh, like food.
Barnaby A: Sweaters
Barnaby B: Love.
"*Sigh* Well...I'm so sorry for you, little kids and your older brother, but let me ask you a question, kids. have you ever celebrated a holiday Christmas Eve?" Grace asked, and she wanted to know if the children had celebrated a Holidays before "No...we haven't celebrated Holidays every year... but parents are only celebrating every Holidays about..."
Barnaby B: Halloween
Barnaby A: Thanksgiving
"And most of all was Christmas Eve and Christmas... They didn't give us some leftovers for us, and only parents did it to eat some food instead of Tim and us..." Grace caught the words for what she heard Jane's explanation about their parents who didn't gave a leftovers and let them starve themselves to death. Grace couldn't help, but she must need to fix it so she couldn't let their parents ruin their little children's day. "But, thanks for giving us some leftovers." Phoebe said "Well no problem, children..." "QUIET!!!" "I can't knit!" Father yelled after bumping, and Mother is the one wailing with a couldn't kit and being Drama mosquito women. "*sigh* I guess we should be silent for what your parents told us..."
At this night, Grace is all dressed up in pajamas before she heads down a hallway to find where she has to sleep to "Uhh Jane?" "Do you need something, Grace?" Jane asked, and where should Grace could sleep in? "Where can I sleep?" A red parrot started to yawned with angry bird noises, Yep, here we go again. "AHHHREHAA" "Uhh you may sleep in...uhhh...In a library!" Jane pointed at the library, looking at a lots of books and pillow on where she would sleep on. "In the library? T-Thats where I can sleep? You know those books could make me uncomfortable to my back or a spine..." Grace replied and she feel like she's going to get her back felt uncomfortable were she probably lays on it "Oh...I guess you can-" "No, no, no! It's okay! I could sleep on a books and try on to uhh...comfortable for asleep!" After everyone went to sleep, Grace felt uncomfortable laying on a books, the books are making her back uncomfortable and she have a warmth blanket sleep on. When Grace finally falls asleep, All she have to plan...is to buy a food and make a perfect dinner for a Tradition Willoughbys Family.
Later on, Grace is still asleep on a library books and pillow for a whole time. She could feel warmth of blanket when she moves until some shook her to distract her from her sleep "Grace, Grace." She heard a little girl's voices and she quickly got up from the spot before she rubbed her eyes occasionally "Nghh...wha- phoebe? Why are you up so late?" She asked "I can't sleep... what should you do when you get me to sleep?" Phoebe ask in a curious way. Grace scratches her head for a second and she had an idea. She have to read a book for a children so she could make them to fell asleep "Well...maybe I shall read a story book about Holiday version...it will help you fall asleep as well, dear..." Once she tries to find a bunch of books she kept finding it, she finally found it and ready to read a book for her.
"Here it is..." They climbed up under the hammock shelter were they wont distracted every other childrens from a sleep or a dreams "What is this book about?" Phoebe ask in curiosity "This book, is called "Boozoos Ghosts". I have read in year ago ever since I were 15... but it's a Christmas Carol version, and it might be scary at the end if you could find out what it was..."
"Once upon a time, There was a cruel mean old man name "Boozoo" who is the only famous of his own Toyshop were the toys are all expensive whenever everyone buys it for Christmas Eve but the fact was, He used to hate Christmas Eve so much. On that Christmas Eve today, A purple bunny named "Banny" who is working as usual, until suddenly, she accidentally knocked Boozoo's mug on a ground "Oh no no no no! I fix this mess before Boss will find out!" She said in worried, She decided she have to tried to fix those parts until when she stopped, Boozoo appears infront of her. He does not honestly happy, His expression are furious "Mrs Banny, What in the world are you doing to my store?" He asked furiously "No, boss, Its just...uhh your cup! It was an accident, you know-" Boozoo then cuts off, not letting her finish those sentences "You're a stupid rabbit, Banny! Did you think I wouldn't notice that you broke my favorite cup!? You did it on purpose, didn't you!?" Banny started to beg for Boozoo if she can fix his favorite mug for Boozoo so she could get paid off "N-No sir! I can fix this parts!" Banny begged.
Timeskip after a holiday book
Phoebe ask Grace in worried if the 3 ghosts might be real if they could scare her or get into her nightmares, The most terrifying ending part was Boozoo were founded lifeless after the authorities found him during the incident "Grace, I feel like the ghosts are going to enter my dreams, are they..?" She ask in worried while holding her doll "Don't worry about it, it's just a fiction holiday tale story, there are no such thing as a Christmas ghosts, phoebe..." Grace tucks a blanket for phoebe on a hammock, making sure if she doesn't want to distract the other children during asleep "Sweet dreams..." A Grace's final words, phoebe finally falls asleep and tries to focus on her dream. Grace went back to the library before she decided she went to sleep again this time.

New Dragon's World Chapter 30
Chapter 30: The Conclusion Part 1
That morning, Titus' friends, both old and new gathered at the edge of town to see them off with the exceptions of Crystal and Sean. Titus, his mother, Drake, and Eig'nia stood by his car which was parked in the middle of the road. His friends and family were wrought with worry. Noticing this, Titus took in a deep breath and smiled, hoping to assure them that everything would be fine.
"Well, this is it." Said Titus.
"Are you going to come back?" Adam asked, looking sad to see his hero leave.
Titus looked down at Adam. "Yeah. After this, we're going back home."
"But…I don't want you to leave. Please stay, Mr. Titus!" Adam cried.
"I can't Adam. This isn't my home. But I promise I'll come and visit you and I'll bring Tim too. Is that okay?"
"Mmm…" Adam pouted, sniffling, soon proceeding to cry.
Jessie was next. She walked up to Titus and looked at him with a hint of sadness. She placed her hand on the side of his face and slowly moved it down. Then without warning, she hugged her brother-in-law tightly. Titus shut his eyes and hugged her back. After a moment, she went back to her husband.
Next up was Lucas. He looked at his best friend since childhood contently and placed his fist in the air. Titus responded to this by bumping his fist against Lucas'.
"Titus, if you die, I'm gonna kick your ass! You understand?" Lucas smiled.
Titus smiled back and nodded. Jackie and Kyle were next.
"I've never been very good with these kind of things. So I'm just going to say this: I'm glad you're my uncle. Please, be careful out there." Said Jackie.
"I will." Titus replied.
"Ditto what Jackie said. I want you to know, Uncle Titus, that after all this is over, I'm going to stop drinking so much, I'm going to finally finish college and turn my life around. I probably wouldn't even be able to say that if it wasn't for you." Kyle said, a tear forming in his eye.
With nay another word, the two siblings walked back to their family as Sarah and Rick went up next. Rick sat in a wheelchair which was being pushed by Sarah. This time it was Titus who spoke first.
"Rick, thanks again for protecting Sarah. I'm sorry about –"
"It's okay you don't have to feel bad. I'd rather lose my legs than lose my little sister." Rick smiled.
Titus looked at his wife. Out of all his friends and family, she was the one who looked saddest. She feared that this would be the last time she saw her loving husband and son. She didn't know how she'd be able to get on without them. And although she knew she should say something to him, she just couldn't find the courage to do so. She looked down and proceeded to walk away, still handing Rick's wheelchair when Titus called out to her.
"Sarah, I love you." He said.
"…I love you too." Sarah said without turning around.
Ben and Frank were the last two to bid Titus farewell. Ben was the first to speak.
"Titus, you've come such a long way. I still remember way back then when I found you in the woods as a baby dragon, crying and lonely. No matter what happens, remember that we'll always be brothers." Ben said softly.
Titus smiled and nodded as he rubbed his eyes. Ben patted his younger brother on the shoulder and then walked over to his young nephew.
"Drake, watch out for your father, grandmother and Eig'nia." Said Ben.
"I will, Uncle Ben." Said Drake.
"Good boy." Ben smiled, rubbing Drake's head.
"Hey, sorry to cut the farewells short but we should be going." Eig'nia chimed in.
"Yeah. Okay." Titus said.
"Just a second." Frank said just as Titus and the others were getting into the car.
"Titus, I've only known you and your family for a short time. But I'm very glad I got to meet you. I feel safe placing mine, Adam's, and Baker Valley's future in your hands. With that said, as sheriff of Baker Valley, I feel it is my duty to give you and your party one order…Come back alive, all of you." Said Frank.
Without another word, Titus, his mother, Drake, and Eig'nia piled into his car and drove off. Not a sound was uttered as friends new and old watched the car shrink more and more until it was completely out of sight.
The car drove on the dusty road, hitting two bumps. Titus took the wheel with Drake sitting up in front with him while his mother and Eig'nia sat in the back. Drake leaned against the door, watching what little scenery the desert had to offer pass them by. He thought about what he would do when he finally saw Jake again. He didn't want to fight Jake. He hoped that he might be able to just apologize to Jake for pushing him and thus prevent a fight from ensuing.
As he tried to think of methods for avoiding his inevitable battle with Jake, he sat up and pressed his face against the car window. For a brief second he could have sworn that he saw Alex and Theian in their human forms waving to him. Once the car had passed by them, Drake unrolled the window and stuck his head out, only to find that the two had now disappeared. Was that really them? Surely he must be seeing things, he thought to himself.
"What's up, Drake? Did you see something?" His grandmother asked.
Drake rolled the window up and sat back in his chair. "No." Was all he said.
"In about forty minutes, we should be arriving at our destination." Said Eig'nia.
"Good. In the meantime, I think we should start making plans." Titus suggested.
"Mom, while I'm fighting Saulstrance, you stay back and guard Eig'nia. Eig'nia, approximately how long should it take you to complete the spell?"
"Unfortunately I can't say for certain. It'll all depend on how quickly you can wear Saulstrance down." The dragoness explained.
This news made Titus uneasy. Yet somehow he knew that it wouldn't be that easy. Thankfully for him, he had come up with a back-up plan in case things went awry.
"Hey, mom…" Titus said grimly.
"Yes?" She asked.
"In the likely event that I'm unable to defeat Saulstrance, I want you to get out of there. Fly back to Baker Valley and hide everyone somewhere safe in the dragon realm." Titus instructed.
"Okay." His mother muttered.
All that was left now was Drake. Even before he had hatched this plan, Titus knew what his son's role in the upcoming battle would be. But what he did not know was if Drake was truly ready for this.
"And Drake…what are you going to do?" He asked.
Drake didn't want to answer. He clutched at his shorts and closed his eyes. He knew what he had to do…and just like with Alex, it would weigh heavily on Drake's heart.
"I'm going to fight Jake…" Answered a reluctant Drake.
"But… Will I really have to kill him? Isn't there another way?!" Drake added.
"Hmm…I don't know, Drake. But like you, I don't want anything to happen to Jake either. I've known him for most of his life and after the time I spent watching him grow, I started to see him like a son. If anything happened to him…" Eig'nia said.
Don't worry, Eig'nia!" Drake said optimistically, shifting around in his seat. "Maybe if I just talked to Jake, then we won't have to fight!"
Eig'nia smiled at the little half-dragon. If only it were that easy. Still, she admired Drake's youthful optimism. Deep in her heart, she hoped that that was all it would take.
The car continued en route to Death Valley. In less than thirty minutes, they would at long last reach their destination.
Meanwhile, Saulstrance and his son were perched outside of an old desert castle. It was rather small, only the size of a house but it served them as their base during their time in the desert. The castle was surrounded by cavern walls with one approximately fifty feet behind it. The other walls were thirty feet away from the castle on both its left and right.
"Dad, are you sure they'll be here?" Asked Jake testily.
"Patience, Jakol…Doulstraz has waited a long time for a rematch with me. He won't run away. Don't worry. You'll still be able to have your revenge." Saulstrance said with a calm demeanor.
Jake flashed a rather disturbing glare. He had been waiting for this day for quite awhile and now he was finally going to make Drake pay for killing Alex. He clenched his fist and squeezed it tightly. Nothing would stop him now. He had finally learned how to control his powers and he would make sure to use them to their fullest in the coming battle.
After thirty more minutes of driving, Eig'nia called out for Titus to stop. Titus slammed his foot on the brake and the car came to a screeching halt. The four stepped out of the cool, air conditioned car and into the scorching desert heat. From just a few short seconds of being out in this weather, sweat had begun to make its way down their foreheads as Titus, his mom, and Drake looked around, panting heavily as they did so. To their right were a range of mountains.
"Those are the Funeral Mountains." Eig'nia said.
"That sounds quite welcoming." Titus remarked sarcastically.
"Nestled within those mountains is an old castle we've been using during our time out here. If Saulstrance's diary was true, and he's waiting for you in Death Valley, then he'll most certainly be there." Eig'nia explained.
"Alright then. This is it, guys. Is everyone ready?" Asked Titus, turning towards the others.
Everyone nodded and Titus smiled with satisfaction. Knowing that it would take too long to get to the castle by foot, IF they were able to get to it by foot, Titus, his mom, and Eig'nia took on their dragon forms and unfurled their wings. Drake hopped on his grandmother's back and held onto her neck tightly as they prepared for takeoff when all of a sudden…
"Hey, wait! What about us?!" A young sounding voice called out.
"Oh, no…" Much to Titus' chagrin, he recognized that voice instantly: Sean. And if Sean was there, then that could only mean that Crystal was as well.
Titus and the dragonesses descended to the ground.
"What are you doing here?! Did I not, specifically say last night, that I wanted you all to remain in Baker Valley?!" Titus snapped.
"Well…we…" Crystal stuttered.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous this is? We're going to be fighting their leader, their BOSS! I mean – GAH!!" Titus roared in exasperation.
"Mr. Flamel…we…"
"WHAT!!!!!" Titus yelled.
Sean and Crystal flinched. "We…we just wanted to make sure Drake would be alright." Crystal squeaked.
Titus shook his head. He could already feel a headache coming on. The last thing he needed was to be a babysitter when he was going to fight Saulstrance. Unfortunately, he was left without much choice: It was either take the kids back to Baker Valley and waste precious time, leave them in the car without any air until they suffocated, or take them with them and risk them getting hurt. The very thing Titus wanted to avoid by leaving his friends in town.
Titus groaned. "Hop on…" He said as he crouched on the ground. The kids jumped on Titus' back. Sean sat in front and Crystal was behind him. Crystal wrapped her arms tightly around Sean's waist. The dragons' wings unfolded and they soon took to the sky. They soared higher and higher until they were hovering above the mountains. Crystal looked down, shrieked and hugged Sean's gut ever tighter when she saw just how high up they were.
"Crystal, what?" Sean gasped.
"We..we…we're so high up…" Crystal stuttered, shaking violently.
"Well, yeah, we are flying." Sean replied.
"Shut up! I'm afraid of heights, okay?!!" Crystal screamed in Sean's ear.
"I know right, Crystal? I don't like heights either…" Drake said in a shaky, terrified voice.
"At least you've got wings, Drake. I don't." Crystal said angrily.
Sean scoffed. "Please! You guys are such babies!"
"Oh, yeah? Well why don't you look down below us? Go on, I dare you." Said Crystal.
"No problem." And so Sean looked over Titus' side and gazed down below, keeping a firm grip around Titus' neck. His eyes bulged and his heart raced once he saw how high up they were. He took several deep gasps and slowly turned away from the sight.
"No…problem at all. It's not that bad." Sean said in a high voice, his arms shaking.
"Yeah right." Drake said, rolling his eyes.
"Can you three please stop your bickering? We're going now." Said Eig'nia.
Eig'nia led the way with Titus and his mom following behind her. Drake and his friends watched in awe as they flew over the mountains, admiring their beauty. After no less than a minute or two, the group soon came upon the castle.
"Is that it?!" Titus shouted to Eig'nia.
"Yes! Now all of you get ready! We're going to descend!"
"Wow, that didn't take too long." Crystal thought aloud.
"Yeah, I thought it woulda taken us like, three hours!" Sean said.
"It might have taken us that long if we had decided to walk there. Thankfully however this saves us time and energy." Titus said.
They lowered to the ground and Drake, Sean, and Crystal hopped off of the dragons' backs. The six of them stood before the small, dusty castle. The castle was no more than two stories. There were five steps that led up to a small porch and at the top of the steps stood a stone archway. Titus looked at the castle with a determined look in his eyes. The moment of truth was finally upon him. The only question that remained was where were Saulstrance and his son?
"This is a castle?!" Crystal asked in disbelief. "Where are the knights and the prince and princess? And why is it so small? It's gotta be as big as my house!"
"It's not that kind of castle, kid…" Eig'nia said in an irritated monotone voice. "Now then… We just have to find Saulstrance and Jake. If they're not out here…"
"Then they must be inside…" Titus added.
"Can we stop talking already?! C'mon, let's barge in and jump them!" Sean exclaimed enthusiastically.
Titus groaned, his annoyance ever swelling. Without saying another word, he made his way up the stone steps and went into the castle. Everyone else followed shortly behind him.
They stood in the doorway. A small wooden table was centered a few feet from the door with a fan suspended over the table, its blades spinning around. To their right were three separate rooms all located within a small hallway. Above them were four more rooms that overlooked the first floor.
They searched around the castle, checking each and every room. Much to their surprise, there was no sign of Saulstrance or Jake! Titus asked Eig'nia if there may have been a hidden room located somewhere inside the castle, however Eig'nia insisted that there was no such thing. Having made a clean sweep of the place, they considered the possibility that Saulstrance was waiting in another part of Death Valley. With nothing left for them there, they proceeded to exit the castle when all of a sudden…
There they were, standing a couple hundred feet before the castle, Saulstrance and Jake. Saulstrance grinned with anticipation, his arms folded. Jake stared coldly at Drake. He looked as if he would try to attack at any moment.
"So you came. I'm truly happy to see that. Then am I correct in assuming that you were able to come to terms with yourself?" Asked Saulstrance.
"…I have." Titus said, scowling.
"Good. Oh, and I see that you've brought Eig'nia with you."
Eig'nia couldn't stand to look at Saulstrance. In her eyes, the dragon that stood before her was no longer her childhood friend but something else: A monster wearing his flesh. Her eyes filled with sadness and regret. Regret knowing that she was partially to blame for all of this.
"Don't look so sad, Eig'nia. To be honest, I'm actually relieved to see you alive. Now you can help me kill Doulstraz and his little gang. Then we'll continue with our plans. Of course I'll have to gather the four remaining Apprentices but then—"
"No…" Eig'nia muttered under her breath.
"Excuse me?" Saulstrance asked.
"I'm with them now, Saulstrance…" Eig'nia said softly, turning toward her former friend and comrade.
"Wh-What? What are you saying, Eig'nia? You're not making any sense! What do you mean 'you're with them'?!" Saulstrance asked again, raising his voice slightly.
"I meant what I said, Saulstrance." Eig'nia said, her voice also becoming louder and sounding more confident. "I couldn't bring myself to kill you that night. It's my fault that the worlds ended up like this so I want to do what I can to make things right."
"So…You'd betray our friend's final wish?! In order to 'make things right' as you say?! Well tell me what right is then! Those who have never known peace…and those who have never known war have different ideas of right and wrong, there is no concrete answer!" Saulstrance shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Well then how about this?" Titus asked, jumping off the castle's porch and returning to his dragon form. "Whoever wins this battle…That'll be whose side is right."
Saulstrance was amused by Titus' declaration. "I like that. It sounds perfect. Now COME!!!" He bellowed, taking on his dragon appearance as well.
The two dragons lunged at each other and spiraled high into the sky. They zigzagged around each other, launching fireballs as they did. At the same time, back on the ground, Jake stood, impatiently waiting for him and Drake to start their own battle.
"Come on Drake!!!" Jake shouted furiously. "Fight me!"
"Jake, please, I really don't wanna fight you…" Drake begged with a sad tone to his voice.
"What?!" Jake exclaimed, growing even more furious. He growled loudly, his body shaking rapidly and his teeth gritting. "Fight me right now, you pussy!! I've waited and trained for four days and I'm not gonna let you tell me you don't wanna fight! I'll make you PAY for killing Alex! Do you understand me? FIGHT!!!"
"Jake, I'm sorry…Really I…"
"Stop. SAYING THAT! You really sorry? Then let me kill you!!" Jake screamed.
Drake sighed reluctantly. He realized that he had no other alternatives. Slowly, he walked down the steps and over to Jake. Drake and Jake stared at each other for a short moment before they charged at each other. Much to the surprise of Eig'nia and the others, the two boys began their battle in their human forms!
Drake threw his left fist back and swung it at Jake, connecting it with Jake's jaw. The other half-dragon grabbed Drake by his shirt and threw him to the ground. With this, Jake pulled his leg back and attempted to strike Drake in his gut, only to have Drake roll out of the way. Then he stood up and dashed towards Jake. Once he was close to twenty feet from the boy, Drake ran around him at a forty-five degree angle. Without turning around, Jake raised his right arm so that it covered his mouth and elbowed Drake in the face, knocking him onto his back. Blood oozed from Drake's nose and he promptly wiped the fresh blood away.
As the young half-dragon stood up, his father was sent plummeting into the left cavern wall. Large rocks that had made up the wall fell on Titus, covering him completely. He quickly erupted from the large pile of rocks and launched into the sky. A ball of fire shot from his throat. With very little effort, Saulstrance flew slightly to the left as Titus' fireball flew into the distance and was soon snuffed out.
With a huge flap of his wings, Titus flew high into the sky. He propelled himself towards Saulstrance, curled into a ball, and smacked Saulstrance in the head with his tail. Saulstrance responded to his nemesis's attack with a smack to the snout by his own tail.
At the same time, Drake and Jake were panting heavily. Their bodies shook and Jake glared at Drake with great discontent.
"Ready for round two, Drake?" Jake asked, mockingly.
"What's round two?" Asked Drake.
Jake shut his eyes. His ears became pointed, turning into fins. His wings ripped through his shirt and his tail wiggled its way out of his shorts. Drake's eyebrows furrowed and he smiled, eager to meet Jake's challenge. Just as Jake had done before, Drake closed his eyes and his ears too became fins, his wings tore the fabric of his shirt and emerged in all their glory and his tail ripped through the back of his shorts, leaving a tail hole for it to fit through.
Drake eagerly flexed his wings by flapping them a few times and his tail wagged around wildly. Jake flapped his own wings fiercely and clenched his fists. They were finally ready to begin their battle anew. The two half-dragons flapped their wings, flying barely even two inches above the ground, and launched themselves at each other. Their fathers likewise did the same. The four of them knew that their battles were far from over.

Bonnie and Clyde Part 3 / Triple Threat Combination
In which a group of psychos attempts to corrupt the eldest Carpenter sister. (Go read triple threat for better context!! This is my take on Scream 7 pretty much)
It had been three months since the murders in New York. Three months of plotting, of recovering, and of teaming up with the secret children of Stu Macher, the twisted psychopath that had inspired your own ideas.
Three months since Ethan had stumbled through the front door, bleeding heavily, and you'd done your best to fix him, though you spent more time crying than anything and felt utterly useless. Three months since Matteo, the middle son of Stu's three batshit kids, had stitched up anything he could, insisting he'd had medical training. Ansel, the eldest, had watched the entire process with such a hungry, menacing look that you’d threatened to skin him alive if he looked at Ethan like that again. The youngest daughter, Lola, had watched you with the silent stare of a predator, an amused look on her pretty face.
Just last night you’d gotten into a screaming match with Ansel, one where he’d threatened to cut you up into tiny little pieces and you said you’d feed him to subway rats. Only Matteo had been able to calm the two of you down, the middle brother seemingly the only one with his head not in the clouds.
“You two—” he said, pointing a rather lethal looking sword at you. A sword. You’d felt ridiculously out of your depth when the three children of Stu had shown up with their advanced weaponry, their connection to Ethan something he’d never told you. “need to calm the fuck down. I’m tired of hearing you bitch at each other all the time.”
“Then put your psychotic brother on a fucking leash.” You snapped, glaring at the stupidly handsome guy. You hated to admit it, but all of Stu’s kids were attractive. Even Ansel had a strangely alluring aspect, even if he made you extremely uncomfortable. “I feel like he’s going to stick a knife in me when I’m sleeping.”
“I’d love to stick something in you, Y/N.” Ansel purred, and the sick glint of amusement in his eyes told you exactly what he was thinking of.
“Stay the fuck away from me.” You said, glaring as you finally calmed down enough to set your kitchen knife down on the counter.
“Where’s your pretty boyfriend?” Lola asked, legs crossed as she sat on the couch. You two weren’t particularly chummy with one another, not like you and Quinn had been, but there was a comforting quality in knowing another girl was in on this chaos. “Matteo should check his injuries. See if he’s ready for tomorrow.”
“I think he’s still asleep.” You mumbled, making a wide berth away from Ansel as you headed to your bedroom. He just grinned at you, that feline expression of his giving you goosebumps.
Ethan had been depressed lately, though he was still on board for round two of a Ghostface attack. He was hell bent on avenging Wayne and Quinn, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t also feel an urge to take out Tara and Sam. But Stu’s kids insisted on recruiting Sam, saying they’d kill you and Ethan both if you tried to make any moves on their ‘honorary sister’, Ansel’s words, not yours.
“Baby?” You whispered, entering the room and shutting the door behind you. You could still hear the siblings muttering amongst themselves as you moved to the bed, but ignored them. “Baby are you awake?”
Ethan blinked up at you slowly, his body curled up into a ball in the bed. He licked his lips, eyes staring into nothing before he spoke.
“Yeah.” He mumbled. He sat up slowly and your eyes moved to his bare chest, cringing at the multitude of scars from where he’d been stabbed. “I cant sleep. You guys are loud as fuck.”
“Sorry.” You said, smiling softly as you sat beside him, taking his hand.
He’d had a hard time after his family’s death. The only solace was that you were alive, and that Stu’s kids were there to help. He wasn’t as wary around Ansel as you were, and he’d quickly began to treat Matteo and Lola like they were his own siblings. Perhaps he was trying to fill a void.
“Is Ansel threatening to cut you up again?” He asked, a teasing glint in his eyes as he pulled your hand to his mouth, kissing your knuckles.
The two of you had always been in love, sure, but after he’d almost died he’d been treating you with a brand new tenderness that almost alarmed you. It was like all the hate and rage had left him and the only bits remaining were the soft ones. It was a bit confusing, and more than worrisome. Would he actually be able to go through with killing again?
“He always is.” You sighed, rolling your eyes at his grin. “Honestly, if he threatens me one more time.”
“Give him a chance.”
“I have. He’s insane.”
“We are too, sweetheart.” He smiled wider, and a flash of that familiar dark glint reached his eyes. “Just maybe not…asylum insane.”
You chuckled at that, then jumped when you heard a crashing sound. You stood up and opened the door, walking down the hall to peer in the living-room. Lola was straddling Ansel, shoving a pillow down over his face as he struggled. For a smaller girl she was very strong, and you gaped at the sight before you.
“Matteo, help!” Ansel gasped, struggling for air.
“Don’t help him. Get the pliers. Which is your least favorite fingernail, big bro?” Lola asked, tone wry as Matteo smiled.
“What the hell did he do now?” You asked, amused despite yourself, and he shrugged.
“Asked if the carpets matched the drapes.”
“I’m tired of your shit.” Lola was saying, still in the process of suffocating her own sibling. “Say it again and see what happens.”
“You’re just as—mean as her!” Ansel was gasping, flinging a hand out towards you. Lola gave you a wicked grin, finally letting up.
“Your call, Y/N. Do we execute him?”
“I vote guillotine.” You mused, tapping your chin with a fingernail as you fought back a laugh. “Maybe blunt force trauma?”
“There’s too much insanity in this house.” Matteo sighed, standing up and moving to the front door. “I’m getting Dunkin. Get ready for an all night planning session.” He turned and pointed a finger at the three of you. “I’m serious. If I come back and anyone is injured, I’m going back to Woodsboro by myself.”
You all groaned and complained as Matteo left, but then Lola’s eyes slid to your own as the front door shut. Her smile turned feline as she looked at you, her voice soft and angelic.
“Y/N, sweetheart,” she began, blinking flirtatiously. “Do you think Matteo would be too mad if we turned Ansel into a scarecrow?”
“Hmmm.” You murmured, trying not to laugh as Ansel’s eyes widened. “Probably not. He wouldn’t even recognize him. We could say he panicked and fled town.”
“Hear that, Ansie?” Lola giggled, peering down at her brother as he thrashed. “Y/N wants you dead, too.”
“I’m sick of you both.” Ansel spat, still trying to escape. “You’re both hellions. Absolute heathens.”
“You love us.” Lola grinned, and finally let him go, moving off to step towards you. “Come on.” She said, grabbing your hand. “I’m desperate for a sister. Let’s go do girl shit.”
You laughed as she tugged you towards your room, trying to ignore the pain in your heart that occurred when you thought of Quinn. You smiled at Lola, allowing her to flop down on your bed and open up Netflix, her dark eyes scanning the options.
“Wanna invite your boyfriend?” She asked, eyes darting to yours, and you nodded.
But just as you left the room to get Ethan you jumped; Ansel flew by you, complaining about ‘girls night’ and ‘why am I never invited’ as he dived face first onto the bed. You could still hear Lola screaming with laughter as you finally made it to Ethan’s room, a smile on your face.
I’ve decided this is going to be a serious series LMAO

| actually the worst | part 3
ao’nung x f!reader
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | bonus part
summary: your relationship with ao’nung has become complicated, to say the least. every second you spend near him makes you hate him even more, but it’s hard to hate someone when they can’t stop touching you. however, things only seem to get worse when a fight breaks out and you get hurt.
includes: enemies to lovers, swearing, teasing, fighting, ao’nung being rude😤
word count: 3k
a/n: i’m sorry i did not think this was going to have so many parts, but i think i gotta just keep writing until it feels finished🫡 also pls lemme know if you want to be added to the taglist for this series:) i hope i already added everyone who asked in part 2
“[Y/N], hurry up!” Tuk whined, dancing around the entrance of the marui as she waited for you. You sighed, cracking one eye open.
“So much for napping, I guess.” You began to get up, stretching out your limbs, taking as long as possible.
“You said you would walk me to the beach for lessons! We’re going to be late!” Your sister frowned, crossing her arms as you continued to drag your feet. The truth was, you were putting off going to lessons. You hadn’t seen Ao’nung since the ilu riding incident and frankly, it had been relaxing. He had apparently been too busy with his warrior training for the past week, but Tsireya said he would be joining you all again today. Tragic.
“Tuk, maybe you should just tell them I’m not feeling well.” You tried, giving her a hopeful look. Of course, she wasn’t having it.
“I overheard you and Kiri talking this morning about the reason why you don’t want to go…” She started, the beginnings of an evil grin showing on her lips. “It would really be a shame if I had to tell Ao’nung that you’re scared of him.”
“I am not!” You exclaimed, mentally kicking yourself. “He’s just an annoying pest is all.”
“Then there’s nothing to worry about. Now, let’s go!” Sometimes you wondered if she was really your younger sister with the way she manipulated you and your siblings. Most of the time it was funny, but today you were irritated.
“You have no sympathy, woman.” You shook your head, watching as Tuk grinned triumphantly and began skipping outside.
The short walk to the beach consisted entirely of Tuk skipping and humming a little tune while you ignored her and went over the best plan for avoiding Ao’nung. You decided that avoiding eye contact was crucial to ignoring him. At least then you wouldn’t get that stupid feeling in your stomach and you could maintain some sanity.
“Look who decided to join us, how kind of you!” Kiri chirped teasingly when you and Tuk finally approached where they were waiting on the beach. You felt a little bit bad considering they had probably been waiting a while, but didn’t dwell on it long when you noticed Ao’nung and his signature cocky smirk staring right at you. You made a point of looking away, focusing on Tsireya instead.
“Sorry, Reya. I wasn’t feeling well earlier, but I think I’m okay now.” You apologized, though you knew what you had said was pretty much the exact opposite to how you currently felt, especially when Tuk decided to pipe up.
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure [Y/N] felt sick because Ao’nung is-” She didn’t get to finish as you cut in hurriedly.
“Um, what are we doing today?” You didn’t miss the surprised expressions everyone wore, you just silently prayed they would gloss over it. Unfortunately, the last person you wanted to hear from spoke up.
“No, what was she going to say? That you felt sick because of me?” You continued to avoid looking at the boy, but you could practically hear the smugness on his face. You realized that the only way out now was through.
“Yeah, I was telling everyone that I think looking at your face triggers my gag reflex.” You watched the others’ reactions instead of Ao’nung, hoping your refusal to meet his eyes was annoying him.
“Funny. I was just thinking about how much your freaky forest face-”
“Don’t finish that sentence, bro.” Lo’ak cut him off in annoyance, though he was grinning at the bickering. You felt relieved, but still pretty tense. You had come to believe that was just a side effect of being near Ao’nung. Oh, how you longed for last week when he wasn’t around.
As the tension lifted and everyone started getting in the water, Lo’ak nudged you, grinning.
“Can’t you just get along with him?” He asked and you cocked an eyebrow.
“That’s rich coming from you. You hate him just as much as me.”
“Yeah, but I don’t have a crush on him.” Lo’ak cackled as your jaw dropped, nearly going into cardiac arrest.
“What! I- You- I do not have a crush on him, Lo’ak!” You hissed, glancing around to see if anybody could hear you. Luckily they were preoccupied underwater.
“Whatever you say, [Y/N].” Lo’ak shook his head, still chuckling as he dove underwater, leaving you seething.
While everyone practiced diving and swimming around the reef, you couldn’t stop thinking about your conversation with Lo’ak.
He was wrong. How could you have a crush on someone whose lights you wanted to punch out? His entire being made your nerves jump and your heart race because you hated him. Yes, Lo’ak was wrong, and you were going to prove it.
Well, you were going to prove it later when you weren’t so out of breath. You surfaced for the millionth time that day, breathing hard from trying to push yourself to stay down longer. Beside you, Neteyam and Lo’ak were in a similar state. Only Kiri seemed to be adapting well, but even she couldn’t stay down half as long as the Metkayina. You were about to try your hand again when Tsireya popped up, followed by Rotxo and Ao’nung. You silently groaned.
“This isn’t working. You have learned nothing.” Ao’nung jibed.
“Yeah, no offence, but you guys kind of suck at this.” Rotxo laughed, sharing a grin with his best friend. You huffed.
“I think we should go back to the basics. We can do some breathing lessons outside of the water to build up your endurance.” Tsireya explained, smiling encouragingly.
“Breathing lessons?” Ao’nung snorted. “That is how babies train.”
“Perfect for you, then.” You muttered, turning to follow Tsireya back to shore.
When everyone had been rounded up on shore, you all sat in a circle amongst the greenery. It would have been relaxing, except for Ao’nung, who chose to sit directly beside you. The close proximity reminded you of how his touch had felt on your skin, how he radiated body heat despite being in the water most of the time. The thoughts made you want to reach over and strangle him. The only good thing was that being beside you made it easier to avoid his gaze as you kept your eyes straight ahead on Tsireya.
She began to teach you about some breathing techniques, like how it was best to breath deeply from the abdomen rather than your chest. When she mentioned the importance of relaxing and slowing your heartbeat , you had to force yourself to forget about the infuriating presence beside you, which was proving difficult. Your heart beat was decently slow, but you were tense and very aware of your surroundings, like how Ao’nung’s knee was mere inches away from your own. The space between you felt charged with energy and it seemed to transfer onto your skin.
“Here, breathe from here.” You heard Tsireya say gently, and you cracked your eyes open. She had placed her hand across Lo’ak’s abdomen in an attempt to get him to breathe correctly. After a moment she said, “Lo’ak, your heartbeat is fast.”
You immediately shared knowing looks with your siblings, chuckling to yourself at how hard Lo’ak was trying to remain calm and nonchalant. Tsireya’s small smile convinced you that she knew what she was doing, making you silently laugh even more.
“What are you laughing at, skxawng?” You heard from beside you, and it took some effort not to turn your head toward him and make some snide remark.
“Nothing.” You replied blankly, trying to focus again on breathing.
“Nothing?” He breathed, quiet enough that only you could hear. Then, without warning, his warm hand was pressed firmly but gently on your abdomen, nearly sending you to Eywa. You froze, afraid that if you moved it would bring attention to the two of you. Your whole body shivered at the sensation of his touch, quickly warming as if a fire had blossomed right where his hand sat, calm and steady.
“If you don’t breathe sometime you’re going to pass out, forest girl.” His voice dripped with amusement. You seriously contemplated just passing out instead of giving in, but eventually let your breath out, making sure to remain quiet. “Your heartbeat is fast.” He mimicked his sister’s words and you could see the shit-eating grin he wore in the corner of your eye. You heartbeat was, in fact, fast. Fast enough that you briefly worried the others might be able to hear it.
“Do I still make you sick?” He breath fanned across your neck, and you couldn’t take it anymore. You stood suddenly, nearly knocking the boy out. Everyone’s heads snapped toward you, looking concerned.
“I’m actually not feeling well.” Your words rushed out quickly, not even bothering to wait for any response before you turned and walked as quickly as possible away from the group. It took everything you had not to break into a sprint.
“What the fuck?” You muttered to yourself, rapidly trying to process what had just happened.
Kiri found you sitting on one of the giant mangrove roots that was tucked out of sight from the village. It had only been a few minutes since you had rushed away, and part of you wanted to tell her to leave you alone for a while longer. However, when she sat down next to you, it was a welcome comfort.
“What happened?” She questioned, searching your eyes as if they could tell her the answer. You just shook your head, attempting to clear it before you spoke.
“Something is wrong with me, Ki.”
“What do you mean?” She had a way about her that made you feel entirely safe to say anything you wanted without fear of judgement. Kiri was not usually so empathetic, but the two of you had a deeper understanding of one another. So, you explained everything to her. How you despised Ao’nung and his arrogant remarks. How much it frustrated you that you didn’t have a good reason for hating him. And of course how odd he made you feel when he looked at you or touched you.
“So what I’m hearing is that he’s touching you without your consent?” Kiri finally said, breaking the heavy silence that had set in after your explanation. You snorted at her fake serious face, already feeling a little better.
“If he was, he wouldn’t have arms anymore, probably courtesy of you, Lo’ak, and Neteyam.” You chuckled, imagining how that would play out. “No, I mean, I think what bugs me about when he does that is that I actually don’t… hate it?” The last words felt sour on your tongue, making you regret them almost instantly. Thankfully, Kiri had the courtesy not to laugh at you.
“So you like him, then?” She asked and you whipped your head back to stare at her.
“No, of course not! I’m just not used to male attention like that. He’s using it against me because he thinks it’s funny. He’s arrogant, and stupid, and I would honestly rather eat sand than talk to him longer than five seconds.” You finished, hoping you got your point across well enough. You couldn’t tell if Kiri was buying it, but everything you said was true. That boy was a pain in the ass.
A few weeks later, you and Kiri were using your free time to mess around on the beach. Things between you and Ao’nung changed since that day during breathing lessons. You had decided to stop acknowledging him and his goading remarks, to his chagrin. When he would make a snide comment you would either ignore it or respond civilly, clearly frustrating the boy. In response, he had become crueler and crueler. At this point, he was a terror, someone to avoid at all costs.
This sentiment ran through your head as you looked up and saw Ao’nung and his terrible friends approaching your twin, who was blissfully unaware as she stared down at the sand under the water. Feeling protective, you quickly made your way over, trying to hear what they were saying.
“She’s just looking at the sand.” One of them remarked, followed by a few barking laughs. Before you could make it all the way over, Kiri seemed to notice them standing above her and started to stand too.
“Hm? What’d you say?”
“Are you some kind of… freak?” Ao’nung questioned, deliberately flicking his gaze up to lock with yours as you came to stand beside Kiri. There was a pause before Kiri sighed and began to walk away, you in tow.
“No.” She said, looking at the ground. Your fists clenched.
“Are you sure?” He taunted, clearly not content to let the two of you off so easily.
“She said no, dipshit.” You couldn’t hold back, replying in your usual manner for the first time in weeks. Something flickered in Ao’nung’s eyes and his smirk widened. He suddenly reached forward, trying to grab your hand.
“You’re not even real Na’vi. Look at these hands.” He managed to grasp onto your wrist, pulling it towards him in a surprisingly gentle manner. His tone didn’t match. “I mean, look at them!”
“Hey!” Lo’ak appeared from the trees behind you, looking pissed. “Back off, fish lips.” Ao’nung grinned, releasing his grip on you. A ring of fire blazed along your wrist and you tried to shake it off, annoyed that he still had that affect on you.
“Oh, another four-fingered freak!” Ao’nung exclaimed, laughing as he and his friends continued to mess with Lo’ak.
“Leave us alone!” Kiri said forcefully, eyes darting nervously between Lo’ak and the other boys. Thankfully, Neteyam came stalking over, shoving Ao’nung away from the three of you.
“You heard what she said. Leave them alone.” His voice was calm, demanding. Pride swelled in your chest at your older brother, always the protector and mediator. One of Ao’nung’s friends tried to step in, but Ao’nung pushed him back, clearly trying his best to look like he wasn’t afraid of Neteyam. “Back off, now.”
There was a stretch of tense silence before Ao’nung finally took a step back, holding his hands up in mock surrender.
“Smart choice,” Neteyam said. “And from now on, I need you to respect my sisters.” A few of them hissed at his words, but allowed you all to turn and start walking away. Before you followed, you stuck your tongue out at Ao’nung, earning a scoff and a glare from him. You knew it was childish, but you couldn’t help it. After all, you had been civil for over a week, which was torture.
As you walked off, you could hear the boys giggling and continuing to talk shit. Beside you, Lo’ak paused, deciding to turn back around.
“Lo’ak!” Neteyam hissed, but it was too late.
“I got this, bro.” Lo’ak held his hand up, slowly making his way back to face Ao’nung. “I know this hand is funny,” He wiggled his pinky. “Look, I’m a freak. Alien.” The boys snickered. “But, it can do something really cool.” Lo’ak continued talking, but you mentally groaned, knowing where this was going. Before you could say anything, Lo’ak had punched Ao’nung, hard. “It’s called a punch, bitch! Don’t ever touch my sister again!”
Next thing you knew, Ao’nung was tackling Lo’ak to the ground, his friends joining in on what you were starting to think was going to be the beat down of the century. You and Kiri shared a look as Neteyam scratched his head, resigning himself to joining the fight.
“Stop it, stop!” Kiri called, exasperated.
“This is so stupid,” You muttered, growing a little worried as you watched your brothers in the outnumbered fight. Gathering your courage, you decided to step in when Lo’ak started getting hit a little too hard in your opinion. “Can you guys just stop before someone gets seriously-” You didn’t get to finish your sentence before you got an elbow to the cheek from one of the guys punching Lo’ak. It was obviously not on purpose, but everyone stopped, silent for a moment as you hissed in pain, frowning.
“Okay that’s it-” Lo’ak was about to go in for another punch before you aggressively tugged him away.
“No! No more fighting!” You barked, marching Lo’ak steadily away. “Stupid boys acting like stupid mongrels. I can’t believe I just watched you all be so stupid, and for what?” You muttered angrily, mostly to yourself.
As you and your siblings walked away for good this time, you glanced back at the Metkayina boys. You thought maybe they would be laughing, but to your surprise, Ao’nung appeared to be scolding the boy who had accidentally hit you. You stared for a little too long because Ao’nung seemed to feel your gaze and looked up, meeting your eyes. It was unsettling to see his usual smirk replaced with worry.

romantically - kwon soonyoung
seventeen as romantic tropes - soonyoung as the boy who fell first
idol!soonyoung x gn!reader
•
soonyoung fell for you day 1. the moment chan begrudgingly introduced you to his members after your constant begging, soonyoung knew you were the one for him. he tried his best to hide it, but he actually didn’t. he acted normal around the others, but when it was just you two? he was dumbly love struck.
“y/n, did you get a hair cut?” soonyoung asked, reached out to brush through your hair with his fingers.
“oh, yeah. i’m surprised you noticed! chan told me i looked the same” you giggled a little bit, already used to soonyoung’s ‘platonic and friendly’ skinship.
“really? you look different to me - not in a bad way, i swear! you look really pretty. even prettier than before. i swear, you become more beautiful everyday” he stared at you with a foolish smile on his face.
“thank you, soonyoung” you blushed a little.
“ooh, i wonder how it would look if you styled it like this…” he stepped closer, now bringing your hair in his hands to tie it up in the way he pictured. he always kept hair ties on his wrist now, just incase you needed one. of course you thought it was the sweetest thing ever, but you were still evermore oblivious.
“there! it’s cute” his hands now rested in your shoulders to look at his work.
“i would sure hope so, i don’t need another person always messing up my hair like my brother”
“oh, y/n? when did you arrive?” seungkwan walks into the room, getting two seconds to observe the situation before soonyoung puts a good amount of space between the two of you.
“oh, just a few minutes ago. i was showing soonyoung my new hair, does it look nice?” you showed off to seungkwan, and he raised an eyebrow at soonyoung.
“y/n… no offense, but i literally do not see a difference” he chuckled, gears turning in his head.
“chan said that too! soonyoung said he could see it! are we both blind?” you turn to soonyoung for the last part.
“no, soonyoung is just an… observant man and probably spends more time looking at you than the rest of us” seungkwan spoke with a cheeky grin. soonyoung sent him a look you couldn’t quite decipher, but decided it wasn’t important.
•
“how come you only took me and not the others?” you questioned, watching him set up the blanket on the grass.
“just didn’t want to. wanted to spend some time with you, that’s all” he looked up with a cute smile, motioning you to come sit with him on the laid-out blanket.
“but why? what’s so special about me?” you pushed, and you could see soonyoung struggle for an answer that wouldn’t expose him. though, he didn’t do too good of a job with that.
“you just are. you make me happy, and being in your presence makes me safe. i like how you let me play with your hair, it comforts me. i like to look at your pretty eyes, to hug you. it feels like you were an angel sent down from heaven to protect me. you know?” he rambled on a little bit, making you blush and lean your head on his shoulder.
“yeah i guess… you make me feel the same way too. but what if the other members get suspicious? what if they think something weird?”
“nobody really cares about them. at least i don’t, not when i have you next to me” he lays his head on top of yours.
•
“chan, i think i like soonyoung”
“oh thank god! you finally admit it!” chan damn near screams at the top of his lungs.
“shut up! what if he hears? what if he doesn’t like me back? be quiet!” you covered his mouth, and he just looked at you with wide eyes.
“y/n you cannot be serious right now…”
“what do you mean? i’m being completely serious, i swear!”
“soonyoung? not liking you back?” he questions, raising an eyebrow at you.
“well, yeah! i don’t know if he does or not!” you argued, confused as to why chan was making fun of you.
“oh, my sweet little sibling… i love you. i really do, which is why i’m telling you to go tell soonyoung how you feel” he gave you what felt like a backhanded hug with false sweet words.
“are you serious? right now? no!”
“y/n, i would never set you up for failure on purpose. i promise, go talk to him” chan patted your head once more before shoving you of the the room and down the hallway, where soonyoung was doing his own thing.
you knocked on the door and he jumped a little bit, obviously startled, but still smiled and excitedly waved you in.
“hey y/n! what are you doing here?” he cheered, making his way over to you.
“i want to talk to you about something…” you muttered, and he instantly sensed the seriousness in your voice and got himself together.
“oh, of course. what’s up?” he asked, throwing his towel to the side.
“well, um, i… well… i think… uh…”
“do you need a moment?” he asked, moving a piece of hair out of your face.
“no no it’s fine it’s just that like, you know, um…”
“take your time, y/n” he smiled gently.
“i like you, soonyoung”
it was silent for a few moments before he spoke.
“finally” he grinned widely, taking you into his arms.
“w…what do you mean finally?” you asked, slowly hugging him back.
“y/n, i’ve been in love with you since forever. you couldn’t tell? i thought i was being so obvious” he rocked back and forth a little bit.
“oh… i don’t know. i thought you were just being friendly and that’s how you were” you shrugged a little.
“i guess… but even after all the times i called you beautiful? my angel? the prettiest person in the world? you couldn’t catch on then?” he asked, a slight teasing tone in his voice.
“shut up…” you groaned, hiding in his chest.
“it‘s okay, love. better late then never. i love you, y/n. romantically. and i forever will”

chapter 5: he should have stayed on that moon

"there you are!" allison ran up behind luther in the hallway. "i've been looking everywhere for you"
"what are you still doing here? i thought you were gone" he turned to look at her in surprise.
"no, i was gonna go and then pogo showed me this-" she tried to explain what she had found but luther cut her off with a shake of his head.
"well, listen.. i was wrong about dad's death"
"what?"
"yeah, i was wrong about y/n, you know, to accuse my own sister of that- it's just-"
"no, no, i get it-"
"seeing all of you and being back here. i-i should be the one who's trying to bring us all back together not tear us apart-"
"would you shut up?"
"what?"
"you were right. about dad. come on, i gotta show you something"
————————————————–
"i can't" eight didn't like crying, especially not in front of her father. he was always cruel, no matter how much the children pleaded and sobbed. she crumpled to the floor, exhausted. she hated training alone, she wanted to train with her siblings outside in the snow, it looked like more fun than this was.
"you are weak, number eight! we will continue until you can get it right" reginald glared down at her. "again!"
she pushed herself up, wobbling. she weakly pushed herself again, trying to make something, anything happen. she squeezed her eyes shut, hands forming fists as she thought hard about what her father wanted. she didn't even know what she was expected to do. to no surprise, nothing happened. reginald sighed heavily, disappointed. he pulled a watch from his pocket before staring down at her as she fell to her knees again.
"you are dismissed, dinner will be in 20 minutes" and she was left alone. reginald disappeared into his office once again. she lay on the floor for a moment, heaving for breath. they had been training for hours, pushing her past her limits. grace and pogo lead her siblings, minus vanya, in through the doors. not wanting them to see her like that she gripped the table behind her, pulling herself up and leaning against it.
"y/n?" ben frowned, stepping over. the others look at her in shock. she shook him off, grumbling about how she was 'fine'. he watched her stumble up the stairs, cringing in pain. her siblings all shared a saddened look.
when they did rush down for dinner, y/n slumped into her chair, dark bags under her eyes. she barely touched her food, pushing it around her plate.
"number eight!" the next thing she knew five was holding her head up and her father was yelling at her. he degraded her, insulted her but she didn't hear a thing. five slowly let go of her, watching her carefully before turning away, back to his meal.
she sat up straighter and actually started to eat the food on her plate, after all, she must train on a full stomach.
————————————————–
y/n and five walked up the stairs of the mansion, feet dragging heavily. as they stepped up they were met with luther and allison.
"five? y/n? what the hell happened to you?" both stayed silent. y/n stared at her feet in a sort of daze. everything was still kind of confusing.
"are you okay?" luther reached out to five, "can we help?" the said boy took him by surprise, hand snapping up and grabbing his fist.
"there's nothing you can do" he spat before his expression saddened, "there's nothing any of you can do.."
y/n looked up, watching as he went. she frowned.
"you alright?" she stared at luther for a moment, grimacing as she remembered what they had last talked about. she kept her mouth shut, brushing past him to her room.
"y/n, wait-"
"just fuck off, luther" she snapped before he could say anything. he should have stayed on that moon.
————————————————–
"number eight" the remaining five siblings with powers stood in a line. it had been a couple weeks since ben's death now. reginald stood in front of them. they had all been told today's training would be different. "step forwards" she did as she was told, standing in front of the others. "you will be using your powers on your siblings today"
her head snapped up at that as did the others. she had never used her powers on them before and they knew what she could do to others. he sent the others all around the house. she was told to find them, sensing where they were with a blindfold on, almost like hide and seek without any of the fun. it was when she had found them all for the seventh time that she sensed something else.
"there are five people in line" she stated, "vanya?"
"wrong" she heard her father scold. "there are only four"
"there's a fifth, i can sense it" she frowned, pulling her blindfold off to see only her four siblings. they all looked confused. "klaus.. is there a ghost? it.. it feels like ben"
"no" he answered far too quickly. ben turned on him from beside him,
"what? klaus! i am here! tell her i'm here!"
"no, he's not"
"klaus! what the hell?! you're so selfish! i am here!" but of course, she never knew that..
————————————————–
"come on, luther, i have to show you" allison tried to pull him away but he continued to stare at where y/n had told him to 'fuck off'. he felt.. guilty.
"but.. what about y/n?" he looked at her. he hated that he upset her, he hated that he had accused her without any actual evidence. she was only a child, just like diego said.
"she's angry, let her cool off. you should apologise but not right now, give her some time" allison offered a soft smile, "that's all she needs, some time. now, come on, this is important"
"i just.. i feel guilty" luther frowned as they walked towards their father's room filled with cameras. "i shouldn't have assumed-"
"she'll understand" allison reassured with a smile.
————————————————–
y/n sat in her corner of the library, reading alone. she was calm, it was her safe place, nobody could bother her here. no training, no arguments, just peace.
"eight.." she looked up from her book at her brother's voice. five.
"what's wrong?" she shuffled over, eyebrows furrowing at the look on his face. he was worried, something five wasn't usually.. or at least he never showed it.
"i.. i want to time travel" he begun softly, taking a seat beside her. she frowned, why was he telling her? "i want to try but dad refused to teach me"
she froze, "you're going to try anyway" she realised. he nodded, now looking up at her.
"i know you think i hate you but i don't" he slowly begun, thinking of the words he was trying to say. "i'm telling you because i think you're the most trustworthy.. and i.." he paused, unsure of how to say what he wanted to. "i think you're the strongest, eight, no matter what our siblings may say"
"five.." she grimaced, "i know we don't talk much but i'll support you if anything happens"
"i do want to talk to you more" he sighed, ashamed for having obeyed his father's stupid rules. "but-"
"no, no. it's not your fault" y/n shook her head. "it's hard to go against him, i understand"
"you're too kind.. you shouldn't forgive people so easily, they'll take advantage of you" five frowned and she laughed.
"i thought i was the strongest, huh?" she nudged his shoulder with her own, finally getting a small smile.
————————————————–
"let me do that" y/n pulled a chair beside five, gently pulling the needle and thread out of his hand. he frowned but let her anyways. "you're antsy" she pointed out, eyeing his bouncing knee. "going somewhere in a rush?"
"i need to go back" he stared out the door, ready to rush out. "i need to find whoever this eye belongs to so that i can stop the apocalypse"
"i know" y/n nodded, eyebrows furrowing in concentration as she finished stitching him up. she gently used a cloth to wipe the blood off his arm before placing a bandaid over it. five stood, pulling his shirt on and buttoning it up.
"can i come?" she watched him stuff dolores into the duffle bag and swing it onto his back.
"no" he barely spared her a glance as he moved towards the window. he climbed out.
"what? why not? come on, five" she leaned out the window, watching him begin to climb down the fire escape.
"i need to do this, y/n, it's important" he looked up at her now. "just wait for me here, i'll come back, okay?"
albeit hurt she nodded, she needed to be understanding. she frowned, moving away from the window, hoping to find something else to do. instead as she walked out of the room she noticed luther.
she quickly moved towards her room, hoping he wouldn't see her. she couldn't deal with anymore fighting right now. to her misfortune he did notice her, following her to her room. she swiftly locked the door as she ducked inside.
"hey.. y/n?" luther stood outside her locked door, hand giving a single knock.
"what do you want?" she hissed back, refusing to open it for him. she didn't need anymore of his accusations.
"i'm.. i'm sorry for accusing you" luther sighed. he had to get this over with, she deserved an apology. "it was wrong and i shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like that"
he heard her cautious footsteps as she made her way to the door. there was pause before she slowly peeked out.
"you mean it..?" she frowned, eyeing his carefully. he nodded.
"i'm sorry. i know you've probably been lonely here, i know what it's like-"
"just shut up" she breathed out a laugh, pulling the door open fully, looking relieved. "no more fighting, please? i just want my family back.." the last part was quiet, vulnerable. luther nodded, smiling back.
"no more fighting" there was a comfortable silence that fell over the two of them before luther spoke again.
"by the way, do you know where five is?"
"yeah, why?" she tilted her head at him, confused.
"we're having a family meeting.. it's about mom. i'm going to get him"
"okay, but i can't guarantee he'll find this as important as you do"

[PHYLLIS] You’ve been broodier than usual lately. Bad week?
[PHILLIP] Remember when you joked about me drowning myself in your swimming pool?
Being your authentic self?
[PHILLIP] Trying. For all the good that’s been doing.
[PHILLIP] Also, I relapsed last week.
[PHYLLIS] Oh, Phillip, but you do know relapses are part of the process.
[PHYLLIS] I know. I’m more disappointed than anything else.
[PHILLIP] For the first time in years, I felt as if I had it in the palm of my hand. And I just squandered it; because I was having a bad day. That it. One bad day. Now I’m right back where I started.
[PHYLLIS] You can’t feel too deeply about it, dear, the world isn’t ending. There’s always tomorrow.
[PHILLIP] Not really in the mood for whatever manufactured committee-drafted feel-good bullshit you found off Facebook, Aunty.
[PHYLLIS] Well, I don’t know what you want me to say. If you want a brighter future, obviously it’s going to be in the shadow of your past. Phillip, I know first-hand how our family operates, but you can’t allow yourself to become hopeless. They’ll sink you like an anchor otherwise. I’ve seen you try and I’ve seen you happy, I know who makes you happy.
[PHILLIP] Yeah . . .
[PHYLLIS] I honestly don’t know what you’re still doing here.
[JEAN] I spoke to my mother the other day.
[PHILLIP] Oh, really?
[JEAN] Yes, really. I was all alone in a foreign country after a multi-hour temper tantrum. It seemed like a mom-worthy emergency. I told her the truth about you, too, I thought she would be upset, or at least tell me that I was clearly being taken advantage of. But she didn’t; she just sort of listened until I was all talked out.
[JEAN] I miss her. I really do. It feels like everyone just leaves for no reason. My dad was killed by a drunk driver on the 905. There one day and then gone the next. Don’t even remember him, but I thought I’d always have my mom. I guess I still do, even if . . . Look, I know I’m selfish. Mom just wants to be where she feels she belongs. Me of all people should be able to relate to that.
[PHILLIP] You’re not selfish, Jean, and I’ve been meaning to apologize. I’ve been treating you horribly. I wanted . . . growing up, my siblings and I learned there was a private side and public side. I wanted to protect you from the public side. I watched the press ruin my mother’s life from the outside in, same story with my ex-wife. I wanted things to be different this time, but I was just isolating you.
[JEAN] Phillip, I get it, like, part of me wants to be all Girl Power I-don’t-need-a-man-to-protect-me, but I don’t know what that type of exposure can do to a person, but I see the evidence in you. You never had anyone to protect you, your entire life.
[PHILLIP] When I was a boy, I was always admitted to the hospital well after midnight. I remember SUVs with blacked-out windows followed by dizzying helicopter rides over the city. My parents were terrified of the public knowing about me. Looking back, I was probably very lonely, but I told myself that the public didn’t need to know. Now, all these years later there is no such thing as private and public lies, my father lies indiscriminately, and I’ve realized that I’ve isolated myself, too. I’ve always been happier when I had someone, you know, there for me.
[PHILLIP] I want to be with you, Jean. I’m happy when I’m with you. I promise, I’ll put you above everything. Always. I like you, I like you a lot.
[JEAN] Yeah . . . and I love you, too.

#25, #37 and #181 for Jungwoo or Jaehyun ❤️🔥
Jungwoo or Jaehyun + “shit, i forgot just how tight you are.” + meeting them at a house party and sneaking off to fuck them in the bathroom. + you being their best friend’s younger sibling.
When your brother Mark met his best friend, when he moved in with him, you thought for sure you’d cracked it and that your brother was gay and his best friend was his secret boyfriend. They were constantly together--going on trips, going out to dinner, going shopping together--so it wasn’t like it was a crazy leap in logic. But then one night, Mark was out of town, you needed a place to stay, so he told you to go stay at his place.
Neither you or Jungwoo ever admitted to Mark the truth of that night. How you’d been sitting on the sofa with Jungwoo, venting to him, and when you’d mentioned in an offhand way how he was your brother’s boyfriend (like, obviously), Jungwoo paused and looked at you with the most adorably confused look on his face.
“I’m not his boyfriend. We’re honest to God just friends.” He holds his hand over his heart. “I’m into you, not Mark.”
In the space after those words, your entire worldview rearranged. You looked at Jungwoo, at the way he was looking at you, leaned towards you in comfortable casualness, and you realized that yeah, you could be into him too.
He fucked you right there on that sofa that night, and again in the shower the next morning, and before you left for the day, you made it clear to Jungwoo that sleeping with him meant nothing more than that you found him attractive too. You didn’t want your brother to know, and you didn’t plan to let it happen again. It had been perhaps a lapse in judgement to have sex with your brother’s best friend.
Weeks go by, and then months. You and Jungwoo are perfectly normal around each other, not letting that night interfere in any way. And then Mark throws a housewarming party when he and Jungwoo move out of their cramped apartment and start renting a house together with a few other friends.
It’s the kind of housewarming that your other family members aren’t invited to. It feels more like a frat party than a housewarming.
There’s people everywhere. All over the lawn, filling every inch of the house you’d just helped your brother move his furniture into. You recognize a few of them as close friends of your brother that you’ve met before, but for the most part, you don’t know these people. You assume many of them are friends of the friends he’s moved in with, but you don’t even know any of those people other than Jungwoo.
So, you do your best to make new friends.
You meet a few lovely people before you finally meet Jaehyun.
He seems nice, very friendly and handsome. You meet him over a tray of snacks you just know your brother sat out, and you start talking to him, small talk that quickly takes a turn when you both realize a mutual interest. That conversation carries you away from the snacks to standing outside, and once you’ve made it outside, you realize that someone’s set up a game of beer pong.
“Jae!” The guy at one end of the table calls as soon as he spots Jaehyun. “We need someone to play against!”
Jaehyun looks at you. “Want to be my partner?”
You hate the idea of leaving his side, knowing that if you do, some other girl that’s been eyeing him all night would quickly sweep in to try to fill your spot.
So, it’s possibly one of the best decisions you’ve made yet that night to be his partner for beer pong because you win, and in the joy of victory, Jaehyun sweeps you into a hug and promises you that he owes you a prize. He quickly makes it clear that that prize is a fresh drink that’s not beer with a ball floating in it.
You could care less about getting another drink, but you go along with him as Jaehyun attempts to swim through the crowd of people that have gathered for this party now. You cling to his arm (his bare, well-chiseled biceps), and you never let your eyes leave the sight of his head (a backwards hat resting on his long black hair).
When Jaehyun finds the way to the kitchen almost impossible to pass through due to it being a small room filled with alcohol and too many people trying to drink that alcohol, he sighs and stops, leaning against the wall and tugging you close to avoid you getting knocked into by the people passing behind you.
“Well, there goes my planned prize for you,” Jaehyun sighs, looking at you with this look that swells a hope inside you. “Guess I should treat you with something else.”
“I have an idea,” you venture, pressing forward a little more, letting your hand slide up his arm. “If you’re interested, you could be my prize, and I’ll be yours.”
“I’ll take that. Gladly.” Jaehyun’s gaze flicks between your eyes and your lips.
Before either of you can back down, decide that maybe you’re too buzzed to make a solid decision right now, you grab his hand and pull him away from the mass of people waiting to get inside the kitchen. You lead him upstairs, heading right for the bathroom you know is at the end of the hallway beside one of Mark’s housemate’s rooms.
You think you hear someone call your name downstairs, but over the music, it’s difficult to tell, and you refuse to let yourself be distracted away from Jaehyun.
You pull him inside the bathroom. Jaehyun closes the door behind him, and as soon as he’s turned to face you again, you all but launch yourself at him.
Jaehyun’s teeth clack against yours. His warm fingers dig into your ass and thighs, and you clutch desperately at Jaehyun’s face, holding his mouth against yours in a bruising kiss as he stumbles deeper inside the bathroom with you. You feel the plasticky brush of the shower curtain, and then your back hits cool tile.
Jaehyun has you against the shower wall, the scent of body wash filling your nose, and your moan echoes off the tile when Jaehyun slips his hand inside your panties. His fingers are expert, skilled at getting you off, toying with your clit and then he’s two fingers deep, rubbing your clit now as well as stimulating you from the inside.
“Told you I’d give you a prize. You gonna cum for me, pretty girl? Gonna cum on my fingers?” Jaehyun kisses his words against your throat, and then he closes his lips around a sensitive spot and sucks.
Not that you want Jaehyun to know, but it’s been months since the last time you had sex, since the last time you orgasmed, so as the climax hits right now, your vision goes white, and your senses are overwhelmed on every side.
The volume in the room increases to a dull roar in your ears, and your fingers dig into Jaehyun’s shoulders, your body arching as he keeps going, pushing your orgasm to last longer and longer on his fingers. You moan his name softly between gasps, like an ecstatic prayer.
Your eyes flutter open, and you realize that the volume in the room isn’t just the buzz of pleasure and the pounding of your heartbeat anymore.
The dull roar of the party cuts out significantly when Jungwoo shuts the door behind him. Jaehyun’s head snaps up from where he’s been trying to leave his mark on your throat. Jungwoo clears his throat, “Don’t mind me, Jae, I just came up for a piss. But you should probably know that’s our housemate’s sister you’re fingering.”
Housemate? Jaehyun’s one of Mark’s new housemates? Shit, you drop your head back, in disbelief that you’ve done this again, fucking with your brother’s friend.
“Shit,” Jaehyun whispers quietly against your skin. “I thought you looked kinda familiar.”
“She has a thing for fucking her brother’s best friends.” Jungwoo turns his back on the pair of you, and you realize that he genuinely is using the toilet right now. Unbelievable. He couldn’t have just walked out to use one of the other two bathrooms in this house when he saw that this one was occupied?
“Jealous, Jungwoo?” You push lightly at Jaehyun’s shoulders until he steps back, freeing up enough space for you to straighten your clothes. “It’s not a good look on you.”
Jungwoo laughs. “Why would I be jealous? We had sex one night, and never spoke about it again.”
“Don’t pretend like you didn’t want it to happen again.” You walk up right behind him. “Do you think I haven’t caught you looking at me?”
Jungwoo turns to face you. “What about you looking at me? Have you not spent any lonely nights since then thinking of me? Remembering the way I touched you, how it felt when you fell apart for me?”
Jaehyun clears his throat. “I’m still standing right here, you know. If you’re gonna have this weird moment, at least let me leave.” He starts to step around you, to squeeze by both you and Jungwoo, but you reach out to touch his arm.
“Don’t go. I want you to stay. You’re the one I brought in here. Not Jungwoo.” You squeeze Jaehyun’s wrist.
“Maybe you two just need to fuck it out of each other again,” Jaehyun recommends. “Don’t let me get in the way of that.”
You don’t let go of his wrist even when he tugs, instead you hold tighter. Something he said gave you an idea. “Don’t go. I don’t want you to be in the way, Jaehyun. What if, and either of you can say no, but what if we all got what we wanted?”
You know for a fact it would be the end of you if Mark ever learned that you’d had sex with not just one of his bestfriends, and not even just that you had sex with two of his best friends, but the fact that you had sex with two of them at the same time in the bathroom of the house he’s renting with said best friends, yeah, you would be over if he knew.
So you definitely don’t let risk letting him find out.
This time you lock the door. You don’t want anyone walking in when you’re leaning your elbows on the low countertop of the sink in that bathroom, blowing Jungwoo with your panties around your ankles while Jaehyun fucks you. You don’t want anyone to walk in when Jaehyun pulls you back up against his chest, when Jungwoo steps closer and edges his fingers in alongside Jaehyun’s cock.
Something about the coordinated way that they move with each other, the way neither voices a complaint as Jungwoo stretches your pussy around him and Jaehyun’s cocks, something about that strikes you as odd. Not premeditated necessarily, just practiced, like maybe they’ve fucked a girl together before.
If you thought your orgasm on just Jaehyun’s fingers after so long without sex was amazing, then the orgasm you experience on both of their cocks is world-ending. You feel yourself breaking apart at the edges, the pleasure going and going as they neither one stop when they feel you cumming around them.
Jungwoo kisses you even when your head falls back against Jaehyun’s shoulder, tasting the pathetic whimpers and pleas of more that spill from your lips. Jaehyun snaps his hips forwards harder, driving himself closer and closer to his own orgasm. The feel of his cock pulsing inside you, shooting his load inside you, is enough to have you cumming again.
Jaehyun pulls out, but he stays right there beside you, his chest against your back, his arms around you, holding you up as Jungwoo keeps fucking you. You’re sensitive now, so sensitive and it hurts but it feels so good, and you keep clenching around Jungwoo.
“Shit, baby,” Jungwoo hisses and groans. “I forgot just how tight you are. I’ve missed you. Fuck, I’ve missed this.”
You feel like a white hot star on the verge of collapse by the time that Jungwoo cums, his fingers twitching over your clit just to draw a final orgasm from you. This is all much more than you’ve felt in a long time, or possibly more than you’ve ever felt.
Jaehyun supports you against his chest as Jungwoo steps back. Your legs feel useless when your feet touch the floor, and you have Jaehyun to thank for you not completely collapsing. He holds you, slowly leaning back against the wall and sinking even more slowly to the floor with you. You feel like you could never move again and be perfectly happy.
“I’ve got her, she’s fine,” you hear Jaehyun say. “Go back out to the party. I can help her clean up, can get her to bed. Should I put her in Mark’s room?”
“No,” you murmur, “Put me in Jungwoo’s bed. Mark wouldn’t think that’s weird for me to be there.”
Jaehyun goes a little stiff at the idea of leaving you in another guy’s bed, but you hear the silent agreement between the two. They won’t talk about this outside of here. They won’t let this fuck up a friendship--either the one between them, or the one with Mark. Jaehyun will help you into Jungwoo’s bed tonight, but that doesn’t mean he won’t hope to have you in his on some other night.
And after Jungwoo leaves the bathroom, after you’ve regained some desire to get up off this bathroom floor, you makeout with Jaehyun in the shower while you both clean up. You sneak out of the bathroom and down the hall to Jungwoo’s room beside your brother’s, and when you climb in between the covers and bury your face in the pillow that smells just like Jungwoo, Jaehyun slides in beside you.
“I really like you,” he tells you. “I know we’ve only known each other for a couple hours now, but I really like you.”
“I like you a lot too,” you admit. You place a hand lightly on his cheek, drawing Jaehyun into a kiss.
Jungwoo finds you like that a bit later when he comes to bed; you and Jaehyun asleep in each other’s arms in his bed, and his heart breaks a little knowing that this is something he could have had if he would’ve just fought a little harder a few months ago to make his feelings known to you. He should’ve made a move before tonight, sometime after that night you’d spent with him months ago. But he was scared of what your brother might think.
That’s why he’d come upstairs tonight. He’d seen you walking upstairs, and by the time Jungwoo navigated his way through the crowd and extricated himself from clinging hands trying to drag him in for a drink, he’d followed you upstairs only to find you getting fingered by Jaehyun.
He’s still standing there beside his own bed, looking at you two, when you stir.
“Jungwoo?” You ask, stretching out a hand to him. “Come to bed.”
The feel of your palm sliding against his, lightly pulling him to join you, that is almost more exhilarating that what happened earlier in the evening. Because you might be cuddling with Jaehyun, but you clearly want him there too, and Jungwoo doesn’t entirely understand what any of this means, but if he can have this moment with you and a million more like it, he doesn’t think he really minds what it means to share you with Jaehyun.
requests are now closed! Thank you to everyone that sent your requests/prompts in, I really enjoyed writing these drabbles!

Robin looked down at the streets of Gotham, he's shown up now and then. Overlooking where he won't show, he can't face him anyways. The last time... was horrible and Damian hated it.
"Hey Dames"
Robin clicked on his comm, even if things between him were complicated, he still listened and spoke to his siblings when he can.
"Nightwing, are you visiting Gotham?"
"Yeah, decided to show up tonight. Jay, Steph and Timmy said they'll join the call as well. Cass and Duke send their regards, they're tied up and working together across the world"
"Understood"
"Hey having fun without me?"
"Nah, just telling him about Cass and Duke"
"Hello Spoiler"
"Yo, wanna go to Batburger?"
Nightwing cut in a moment "Don't worry, just us"
"Hm. Very well, I'll join you all for food"
.
They all met up, just as Nightwing reassured, he wasn't here. Damian sat across Jason and Tim as Dick and Stephanie ordered at front. "So how's everything going?" "Work has been piling on, kinda annoying, but I'm all good" "Yeah I hear you, it's been hectic on my side. People thinking they can get away with annoying shit and then I show otherwise"
The two came back and took their seats. Dick sat with the two across and Stephanie joined Damian.
About an hour passed and they were still eating and talking, Damian took part of the conversation as well.
"Ugh and have you guys seen Bruce? He's annoying as hell ever si- Um ever since he went into a difficult meeting" Stephanie cringed at her mistake, everyone glanced at Damian. Damian didn't look as happy as he did when they all joked and ate. Now he looked... sad.
"So Damian, what brings you to Gotham?"
"Visiting"
Everyone looked at each other, except for Damian who merely took a sudden interest to stare at his fries. Dick smiled and tried to lift the atmosphere "Hey you guys wanna stay at my place? Kory is busy outer space so we can play some video games as loud as we want"
"Sounds cool"
"I'm down"
"Totally"
"No"
They all looked at Damian.
"I mean, no thank you. I'll pass"
"Please Damian? We haven't had much time together" Damian closed his eyes and sighed, giving in with a small smile "Fine. It'll be a delight to beat you all"
"Oh really? Think you can do that demon? I'll beat you up"
"In your dreams Jason"
~
The night was filled with shouts as they played Mario Kart. Everyone lied down and slept the rest of the night. All but Damian who sat on the window looking out at Blüdhaven's sky.
"Hey what are you still doing up?"
"You can go back to sleep Richard, I'm merely looking at the sky"
Other than going back to sleep, Dick got up and sat across from Damian. "Do you wanna tell me what you were really doing in Gotham"
Of course Dick saw through that lie of just visiting, he knows Damian too well. "I went to visit his grave... I merely missed him is all" Dick's face fell as he placed his hand on Damian's shoulder "You... you don't have to keep blaming yourself. It wasn't your fault" Damian closed his eyes and shrugged off Dick's hand "I... You weren't there... he said... he said that things could've been different had he been there. I was powerless as I watched it happen. The snap is when I realized how I failed him... I'm sorry"
"Hey, it's not your fault. You know that right?"
"Stop... stop" Damian pressed his knees close to his chest and looked away as he rested his cheek on his knee. "Don't say it. I'm so tired of that. I don't care what anyone else says, I was there! I could've stopped it, I could've saved Pennyworth! But I was too weak to save him... all I do... all I do is kill and it made someone who I loved die" Tears formed in the corner of his eyes. Damian looked over when someone got closer, it was Jason, Tim and Stephanie sitting down on the floor.
Damian's tears poured as he covered his face "Stop looking at me it was my fault. I killed Pennyworth... I killed him" Damian sobbed "It's all my fault... I killed him. I-I killed him... it's my fault, why do you all not hate me? You should all hate me! I... I killed a beloved member of the family, I never should've stayed with father or anyone else. I should've gone back to Nanda Parbat and then everyone would've been safe... everyone would've been better without me" "No, no baby bat don't say that. You didn't do anything wrong, you couldn't have changed it neither could Bruce. He was wrong for that and we were wrong for not helping you sooner. Please don't ever say that about yourself" Everyone got closer and hugged him as he cried into the night.
