June of (minimal) Doom 2024 Day 4 - Does that hurt?
Suguru meticulously counts out the money he owes for his coffee. It’s not as if there’s much more in his purse anyway, but it doesn’t hurt to be careful. He knows he shouldn’t even spend this money on the coffee in the first place, but one treat every other week is not going to make that much of a difference and Suguru only ever splurges like this when he managed to get a good deal at the grocery store.
“Thank you,” he politely says when he gets his coffee and he’s already salivating a bit because he has been looking forward to this for almost the entire day.
He turns around, his cup safely in his hand and then it all goes to shit when he collides with a brick wall and his coffee goes flying.
“Fuck,” a voice says as Suguru mournfully stares at his coffee which is now spilled on the floor.
So much for that, then, he bitterly thinks before he pulls himself together and turns his attention towards the person he ran into.
At least half of the coffee is now in that guy’s shirt and Suguru’s stomach drops.
He cannot afford to get that to the cleaners.
“I’m so sorry,” he rushes out, hands uselessly fluttering in front of him because it’s not as if he can magically get the coffee out of the shirt. “Fuck, I’m sorry, are you hurt?”
The coffee had just been made for him, so it’s bound to be hot and compensation is something Suguru can absolutely not pay this guy.
“No, it’s fine, I’m fine,” the guy says and Suguru finally forces himself to tear his eyes away from his ruined shirt to look at him.
The gaze he meets leaves him stunned because those are the bluest eyes he has ever seen.
“Are you alright? You don’t look so well. Do you need to sit down?” the guy asks him, concern clear as day on his face and Suguru mutely shakes his head even though he feels sick to his stomach with nerves.
“I’m just—I’m really sorry,” Suguru repeats again and the guy snorts, clearly amused, which is leagues better than angry, like Suguru had feared.
“Yeah, you said. But in all honesty, I should say sorry, because I was the one who snuck up on you. I really should have left some space.”
“No, that’s—” Suguru cuts himself off, because he should really take this out in stead of arguing for his own fault.
Like this the guy is less likely to ask Suguru for any kind of money.
“Hey listen,” he now starts and there it is again, the dread that makes Suguru’s stomach drop out. “Since this is my fault and all, how about I invite you for another coffee?”
“Huh?” Suguru gives back, thinking that he must have heard that wrong.
“I’m Satoru,” the guy introduces himself with a grin, “and I’d like to invite you to a coffee.”
“Uhm,” Suguru stammers out, blinking rapidly because this is not at all going how he expected it to go. “Suguru,” he finally manages, acutely aware of how familiar it is, of how inappropriate it is, but then again, he did just spill coffee all over this guy and is apparently being treated to a new one, so he best play along.
“Great, Suguru, tell that nice lady what your order is and that you’ll be taking it here,” Satoru says, turning Suguru around, back to the counter where the girl who just made his coffee is watching the scene unfold, mop at the ready.
“I remember,” the girl tells them and hands the mop over to her co-worker, who immediately rushes around the counter.
“I’m really terribly sorry,” Suguru can’t help but to say again, because he also caused these people more work but Satoru clicks his tongue.
“It’s my fault, why do you keep apologising. I am sorry,” he says to the guy, who waves them both off with a smile.
“It happens, no worries,” he reassures them just as the girl puts down Suguru’s order, together with what must be Satoru’s.
Satoru hands the money over without a care in the world and Suguru bitterly presses his lips together. How nice it must be to not care about every cent he spends, he thinks and then forcefully pushes that thought away.
It’s not Satoru’s fault that their situations are different and Suguru has absolutely no right to take it out on him, especially not after Satoru is being so nice to him.
“Thank you,” he says to Satoru as he picks up his coffee and dutifully follows him over to a booth.
“I really should be thanking you,” Satoru says with a cheeky little grin and now that Suguru is no longer paralysed by fear he notices for the first time how hot Satoru is.
He’s tall and handsome and his white hair and blue eyes are striking enough to turn anyone’s head.
“What for?” Suguru gives back, sitting down opposite of Satoru. “I spilled coffee all over you, that’s hardly something you should thank me for.”
“But it gave me an excuse to talk to you,” Satoru says with a shrug. “I was about to talk to you anyway, but like this I at least get to invite you for a coffee. Gives me more time to charm you.”
“To—charm me,” Suguru repeats because what the hell.
“Yep,” Satoru cheerily says right before he takes a big sip from his coffee and it gives Suguru just enough time to at least try and gather his thoughts.
“Is this like—you wanted to ask me out?”
“Sure did,” Satoru easily replies and Suguru can do nothing but blink.
“You don’t even know me.”
“That’s what dates are for, right?”
“But why would you—”
“I think you’re the single most gorgeous guy I have ever seen, so why not?” Satoru interrupts him, leaving Suguru completely speechless and it’s only when the silence drags on that Satoru seems to become bashful. “I mean, no harm done if you’re offended or would rather leave. The coffee is paid for, if you don’t want to you don’t have to stick around,” he says, scratching at the back of his head.
“No!” Suguru rushes out, making Satoru smile. “I’m just—not used to this,” he admits because it’s been a long time since anyone has shown interest in him.
Longer even since anyone stuck around after finding out just how poor Suguru and his family are.
“I can’t really return the favour though,” Suguru weakly says, which only seems to brighten Satoru up more.
“Oh, already thinking about a second date? Lucky me,” he replies which makes Suguru blush faintly. “And hey, no worries, if you do want to do this again with me, I’m happy to invite you. Don’t even worry about that.”
Suguru is definitely going to worry about that, but in all honesty, he’s kind of getting ahead of himself. He doesn’t know if he likes Satoru yet, doesn’t know if they click like that and to already be thinking about another meeting—it’s awfully forward of him, so he pushes those thoughts away for now.
“Well, let’s just see how this one goes, alright?” Suguru offers and Satoru nods with so much enthusiasm that Suguru fears for a moment he’s going to dislocate something.
It turns out spending time with Satoru is easy and comfortable and good in a way Suguru isn’t used to so when Satoru proposes to exchange numbers Suguru is quick to agree, just like he’s quick to agree to meeting again at the same time next week.
He already knows that it’s going to be a highlight for him.
~*~*~
They keep meeting. At first it’s once a week, a set date, but soon it devolves into shooting each other a quick message if one of them is free to see if the other has time to meet as well. Suguru doesn’t always order something and he also doesn’t let Satoru pay for him all the time, but as long as one of them has something to drink they are not being kicked out at least.
Suguru knows that Satoru is curious, can see it in the glances he shoots him every now and then but so far he hasn’t asked and Suguru is thankful for it.
Their conversations tend to bounce around topics, from stupidly silly stuff to the more serious things, but somehow Suguru doesn’t feel comfortable telling Satoru about his situation yet.
It’s on a day when Suguru decides not to buy something that Satoru speaks up.
“Listen, Suguru,” Satoru starts with, and immediately Suguru tenses.
Of course this thing was too nice to last for long, he thinks and almost misses what Satoru says next, already so consumed by his heartbreak.
“I know that there are some things you don’t like to talk about,” Satoru says and reaches across the table, taking Suguru’s hand in his and Suguru clings to that point of contact.
That’s not something someone would do who is about to tell him to get lost and never come back, right?
“The same goes for me, but. I just want you to know that you can talk to me. When you’re ready. About anything. Just—putting that out there,” Satoru finishes with a weak smile and Suguru takes in a deep breath.
“I know,” he gives back, because he does and he wanted to tell Satoru so often already, but something is always holding him back and it has little to do with Satoru.
He’s ashamed, if Suguru is honest, even though it’ not his or his family’s fault but he still can’t shake that feeling. It doesn’t help that everything about Satoru screams money and the careless way he waves his credit card around, clearly not caring one bit for any money he spends only adds to the uneasy feeling in Suguru’s gut.
Satoru wouldn’t be the first person to leave him behind once he learns just how poor Suguru is, and while the others had sucked as well, this would hurt Suguru in a way none of the previous ones could.
For that he simply likes Satoru too much already and Suguru is certain it would take him a long time to pick himself up again should Satoru judge him in that way.
“I will, eventually, I think” he adds when Satoru continues to look at him and Suguru squeezes his hand. “It’s just—not easy.”
“I get that,” Satoru lightly says. “Like I said, there are things I haven’t said either, because it is hard, I just wanted you to know.”
“Well, the same goes for you, alright?” Suguru replies, because he needs Satoru to know that he can also tell him anything and Satoru smiles at him.
“I know,” he repeats Suguru’s own words, “but not yet.”
“Not yet,” Suguru agrees and relief floods his body.
He should have known that things would be this easy with Satoru, because everything with him has been easy.
And he will tell him, eventually. He just needs to gather a little bit more courage first.
~*~*~
Suguru feels like shit. Things have taken a turn for the worse, yet again, and his hands shake with the knowledge of what he has to do.
Satoru is already waiting for him, happily waving when he spots him and he points across from him where a coffee is already waiting for Suguru.
It makes him feel like crying.
Satoru never asks for him to pay him back, even though Satoru pays for both of them more often than not, and Suguru knows that he’s probably never going to ask but still.
It doesn’t sit right with him and with what happened at the beginning of the week he’s not sure he can take this kindness any longer.
“Satoru,” Suguru says as he sits down, pushing his coffee away from him and immediately Satoru’s face falls.
“Suguru,” he greets him in return but his shoulders are tense.
“I can’t keep doing this,” Suguru admits, scrubbing a hand over his face as he comes right out with it.
“Doing what?”
“Meeting with you, here. I don’t have the time and—I don’t have the money,” he admits, dropping his gaze to his hands so of course he sees it when Satoru hesitantly reaches out for him.
“What happened?” he asks when Suguru doesn’t pull his hands away and Satoru is quick to tangle their fingers together.
“Only bad things, like always,” Suguru bitterly says. “I’m sorry.”
“What’s going on?” Satoru asks and Suguru heaves out a sigh.
If this is the last time he gets to see Satoru he might as well come clean about it, too. It’s not as if it’s going to matter if Satoru judges him for it afterwards, because they won’t see each other again.
“My mom’s back in the hospital and my dad’s old company cut the compensation money they are supposed to still pay him.”
“Is your mom okay?” Satoru asks and Suguru shrugs.
“No clue. They are doing tests again but at this point it’s all chronic anyway so I doubt they’ll find something new. The bills though, they will be brand-new and shiny and I won’t be able to pay them.”
“You said your dad’s old company skimped out on paying him?”
“The Gojo Group, yeah,” Suguru sighs out and notes how Satoru jerks at that. “They fuck you over, too?”
The Gojo Group is the biggest company in the area, so there’s really not much choice but to work there, especially with how many different branches they cover, but they are ruining more lives than Suguru cares to think about and it’s not as if the company or anyone else really cares about the lives of the employees.
Almost everyone in Suguru’s neighbourhood got fucked over by them and they show no signs of stopping any time soon.
“You can say that,” Satoru says, not meeting Suguru’s eyes and Suguru decides to drop it.
He can hardly fault Satoru for not wanting to talk about this.
“Well, my father got injured on the job, which should entitle him to life-long compensation, but of course they somehow found a loophole or whatever, so they are no longer paying him. Mom’s issues are from her work there as well, she was exposed to some kind of chemical there for too long and now it fucked her all up so—” Suguru trails off. “I’m the only one who really works anymore and with two sisters in college it’s not easy. I had to pick up some more work, to cover the essentials and even that is hard,” he admits and watches how Satoru works his jaw before he reaches into his pocket.
“I want you to call him,” he says as he slides a card over the table.
Suguru takes it, reads ‘Kento Nanami, lawyer’ and puts it right back.
“Did you not listen to me, Satoru? I don’t even have the money to buy myself a goddamn coffee, how do you think I’m going to pay for him?”
“He’s building a case against the Gojo Group. He’ll be thankful for everyone who comes forward and speaks to him and if you tell him I sent you, he’ll represent you for free.”
“You know him.”
“Have known him for a long time. I promise, he won’t charge you. If he doesn’t believe you, tell him to call me. He’ll get you your money, he’s the best.”
Suguru hesitantly picks up the card again.
“Are you sure? If he’s going to charge me for anything—” he trails off, because in the grand scheme of things what is one more bill he’s unable to pay, but it still doesn’t sit right with him.
“He won’t, I promise. And if he tries to, tell him to sent it to me. But he won’t.” Satoru seems completely certain about it and Suguru dares to believe him.
Even if this Kento loses whatever case he’s building, then at least Suguru can say he tried something. That has to count for something, too, right?
“Thank you,” Suguru softy says and slides the card into his pocket. “I will, then.”
“Good, that’s good,” Satoru mutters, and takes his hand back, sliding both of them under the table.
It leaves Suguru feeling strangely cold.
“You still don’t want to meet again, right?” Satoru asks him and Suguru presses his lips together.
“It has nothing to do with want, Satoru,” he gently corrects him, giving him a sad smile. “I just can’t afford to. I don’t have the time or the means.”
“You know I don’t care about the money thing, right? I would happily pay for everything, if you’d let me. It doesn’t matter to me and I really don’t care.”
“I know,” Suguru whispers.
“But it doesn’t change anything,” Satoru quietly says and Suguru shrugs helplessly.
“You probably have no idea how it feels but it’s not good, Satoru. Knowing that even this coffee is breaking this week’s budget and knowing that it doesn’t even register for you. It might be misplaced pride or whatever but—I can’t stop thinking about it every time we meet. I don’t want it to be like that. And I truly no longer will have the time starting next week. I can’t juggle three shifts and a social life, let alone dating. It’s just not possible.”
“I see,” Satoru mutters as he nods. “I get it. I just—I really hate it. It sucks,” he then rushes out and Suguru laughs bitterly.
“That it fucking does. I like you, Satoru, I really do, and this sucks so much.”
“You—hate the Gojo Group, right?” Satoru asks after a moment and Suguru almost sprains his neck he nods so hard.
“Fuck, I hate them so much. They screw so many people over and don’t give a flying fuck. Everyone in that family and in executive positions in that company is rotten to the core and I would be happy to see them all drop dead, if I’m being honest,” he hisses out and while that wouldn’t solve any of his problems, it would bring him a lot of satisfaction, that’s for sure.
“Alright,” Satoru says, as if that just decided something for him and he taps the table again. “Call Nanami. And if after the trial you’d—I would just like to hear from you again,” Satoru finishes weakly and Suguru frowns at him.
“Okay,” he carefully says because he doesn’t know what’s going on with Satoru right now but in all honesty, there’s too much going on with himself for him to try and figure out someone else’s shit.
“Goodbye then, Suguru,” Satoru says and before Suguru can find his voice, Satoru has already left, coffee untouched and forgotten on the table.
It hurts Suguru’s heart to see him go, even if he was the one to decide this and it just confirms his believe that this is a week straight out of hell.
He just hopes that from now on things won’t get any worse.
~*~*~
“I’m supposed to tell you that Satoru sent me,” Suguru starts with as soon as Kento Nanami steps into the room and immediately Kento tenses.
“Of course he did,” Kento says with a sigh and sits down opposite of Suguru. “And for what did he sent you here, exactly?”
“The Gojo Group. He said you’re building a case against them. Both my parents worked there and—”
“Things are not looking great, I supposed,” Kento drily says and immediately his aura changes. “Tell me everything.”
So Suguru does. If nothing comes out of this, he at least has to admit that it feels good to get it all off his chest for once. Kento takes meticulous notes and he seems pleased by what Suguru tells him, so he has to believe that it’s something he can use to build his case even more.
“Are you willing to testify in court? Your parents, too?” Kento asks him once he’s done and Suguru nods.
“I am. I have to ask my parents, but I would think they’d say yes as well.”
“Wonderful,” Kento mutters, continuing to write things down.
“I—can probably talk to some of our neighbours? There are a lot of people who got screwed over by the Gojo Group and I think at least a few of them would be willing to talk to you.”
“That would be perfect. I’ve been trying to find more people willing to testify, but I wasn’t very successful. Everyone would help this case.”
“We didn’t know someone was doing this,” Suguru says with a shrug. “If not for Satoru I wouldn’t have either. And it’s not as if any of us have any money to spare on a lawyer.”
“Valid points, I should have considered this. But since I am building this case out of my own volition, I’m not going to charge anyone. I just need more people.”
“Believe me, there are more than enough,” Suguru promises him and he leaves the office with more of Kento’s cards and a promise to send as many people as he can.
Suguru wonders if Kento’s firm is prepared for the onslaught of people they will receive in the next few days.
~*~*~
“I would like to call on Gojo Satoru next,” Kento says and Suguru feels as if he’s having an out-of-body experience.
It can’t be true, he desperately thinks but when he looks up it’s Satoru—his Satoru—walking up. Satoru doesn’t look at him and Suguru feels as if he’s frozen right where he stands, a loud ringing in his ears.
He doesn’t hear anything Satoru says, doesn’t know why he’s on Kento’s side and not speaking out for his family but nothing makes sense anymore.
Except for how it totally does.
It explains the money Satoru has, the connections and why he flinched that one time Suguru talked about the Gojo Group.
It all makes sense and Suguru feels sick to his stomach.
The rest of the trial flies right by him and he doesn’t even hear what the verdict is or if there’s been one yet.
It’s only a few days later when his father excitedly waves around an official letter that it all truly sinks in.
They’ve won.
Kento won this case for them and Suguru’s family—and everyone else—is basically set for life. Every medical treatment of his mother will be paid for. His father will receive life-long compensation that is way higher than what the Gojo Group originally had to pay and because they tried to skimp out on it they are legally required to pay it for ten more years even after Suguru’s father dies, which means that he and his sisters are taken care of as well.
It’s everything Suguru never dared to hope for and he spends his fair share of tears over it before he quits two of his three jobs.
And then he messages Satoru to meet.
Satoru invites him over to his place, which is just as well with Suguru, because he really doesn’t want to do this in public and his hands shake with nerves as he rings on Satoru’s doorbell.
It’s not the outlandish apartment Suguru expected and he wonders if Satoru already down-sized after his family lost the case, even though this is still leagues nicer than anything Suguru knows.
There’s an awkward moment when Satoru opens the door, because Suguru can’t quite find his voice and clearly Satoru doesn’t know what to say either, so he simply waves him in. Satoru’s apartment is nice inside as well and Suguru is about to compliment him on it when Satoru speaks, arms crossed in front of his chest as if he needs to defend himself.
“Before you ask—and I know this is going to be the topic—I cut ties with my family as soon as I legally could. Nanami’s partner in that firm got me emancipated when I was sixteen. I did take a lot of my family’s money when I left but I haven’t spoken to them since. That trial was the first time I’ve even seen my parents in almost ten years.” Satoru works his jaw and Suguru’s head is just a mess of thoughts, just like his chest is a mess of emotions. “Of course I could never get rid of the name, though. So. How does it feel to find out I’m something you hate? Does that hurt?” Satoru asks him, his voice mocking and bitter and Suguru doesn’t think. He just acts.
The sound of his hand meeting Satoru’s cheek rings out loudly in the otherwise silent apartment.
“How dare you,” he hisses out but Satoru can’t even meet his eyes and this is all so wrong Suguru doesn’t even know where to start, so he blurts out the first thing that comes to mind. “Marry me.”
That certainly gets Satoru’s attention.
“Huh?”
“If you marry me, then you can take my name, right? That’s a way to get rid of your family name,” Suguru says because he’s committed now that it’s out there even as his heart beats rabbit-fast in his chest.
“Suguru, what are you even saying? Did you not listen? I’m a Gojo, too. You said you want us all to drop dead where we stand.”
“Not you,” Suguru immediately says and steps close to pull Satoru into his arms.
It’s the most physical they’ve ever been despite the numerous dates they’ve been on and Suguru wonders why they’ve never done that before.
It feels as if Satoru was made to fit into his arms.
“You just said it, you broke with your family, you have nothing to do with them. And you worked with Kento against them, what more could I possibly ask of you?”
“I don’t—did it help then? I know he won the case but I don’t know what that means for every family. What it means for your family.”
“We’re set for life, Satoru, with everything. Your—the Gojo Group even has to pay us after my father eventually dies. Kento won it all for us.”
“That was all you, actually,” Satoru corrects him, finally bringing his arms around Suguru. “He told me that he’d never have gotten enough evidence without the people you brought to him.”
“Then it was all you,” Suguru corrects him and noses at Satoru’s temple. “Because you sent me his way. So thank you.”
“I just—I just wanted to help.”
“And you did, Satoru, you did so much for us.”
“You said you didn’t want to see me again,” Satoru reminds him of their last talk at the coffee shop and Suguru huffs.
“Because of extenuating circumstances not because I didn’t want to. I have missed you every day since then. I didn’t want to do it in the first place but everything was so much and I didn’t know what to do.”
“So you do want to see me?” Satoru asks and tightens his arms around Suguru as if he’s afraid that he could slip through his fingers at any moment now.
“I do, Satoru, I do. If you still want, of course.”
“You just asked to marry me,” Satoru replies as if that makes any sense.
“And you didn’t answer me,” Suguru reminds him. “So I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean.”
“It means that I think we should date for real first,” Satoru softly says and brushes his lips against Suguru’s neck. “And then see where that gets us.”
It’s a reasonable suggestion, Suguru has to admit that but still.
“When we marry, you’ll take my name, though. Just putting that out there so you can’t act all surprised when it happens.”
“When, huh?” Satoru mutters and Suguru goes hot when he presses his face into Suguru’s throat. “You that certain?”
“I was already in love with you back then,” Suguru admits because it’s not as if he has to hold anything back anymore. “I doubt that’s going to change.”
“Despite me being a Gojo?”
“Excuse me, you’re a soon-to-be-Geto,” he corrects him which makes Satoru laugh.
Suguru doesn’t even mind that he’s pulling away from him because it only means he gets to see the happiness on Satoru’s face.
“Soon-to-be Geto Satoru,” Satoru says. “It does have a nice ring to it.”
“Yeah, there’ll be a ring alright,” Suguru grumbles and does what he should have done at their second date but was too scared to do: he puts his hand to Satoru’s neck and pulls him right in for a kiss.
He’s met with no resistance at all, Satoru an eager participant in the kiss and Suguru finds himself wanting to do it again as soon as they part.
“We’re doing this all out of order,” Satoru mutters and Suguru shrugs.
“Doesn’t matter as long as we’re doing it,” he gives back and dives right back in for another kiss.
“Thank you,” he whispers against Satoru’s lips and he hopes Satoru knows just how grateful Suguru is for everything he’s done for him.
“This is not some strange guilt thing or anything, right? Or gratitude.”
“It most definitely is not,” Suguru assures him. “I wanted to do that way before all of this happened.”
“Okay then,” Satoru nods and leans their foreheads together. “Still, dating first. Real dating. Then we can talk about getting married.”
“First date right now,” Suguru demands because while he sees the merit of what Satoru says, it also sounds stupid and as if it’s going to cost them way too much time.
Better start the dating right now.
“Deal,” Satoru says with a big smile and then steps out of Suguru’s reach to put on shoes. “A dinner date. You’re paying.”
Suguru laughs at that because for once hearing it doesn’t make dread crawl up his back and it doesn’t sent his mind into overdrive to figure out if he can afford it.
And it’s all thanks to Satoru.
“Deal,” he agrees and threads their fingers together. “Next date it’s your turn though.”
“It will be my pleasure,” Satoru gives back and drops another quick kiss onto Suguru’s lips.
Things are absolutely, phenomenally perfect in Suguru’s opinion and he can’t wait to make them even more perfect by giving Satoru his name. And he’s definitely not going to wait years to do it.
(It takes them eight months. Mostly because for whatever reason Satoru is being stubborn about it and turns Suguru’s proposals in month three and five down. And then Suguru turns Satoru’s proposal in month six down because of the principal of the thing. They do get it right, eventually, and once Satoru is officially Geto Satoru he stops being informal with everyone and gleefully demands people use his family name. It always gets Suguru a little hot and bothered when he does and he encourages it shamelessly.)

Midnight Rain
(part three of ???)
-part one- -part two-
tyler galpin x gn!reader
summary - things go wrong at the Poe Cup !
tw - cursing, some violence
really minor spoilers for WEDNESDAY !
Tumblr media
You woke up bright and early the next morning. The morning of the stupid event your stupid mother was stupidly making you do. Your eyes adjusted to the light in your room, and you forced yourself out of bed so you could get into your uniform to which you’d soon change out of into a very embarrassing cat costume. Why couldn’t you be apart of say, Xavier Thorpe’s group? They got to dress as cool scary clown-jester things. Oh wait. You HAD to be in Ophelia Hall.
Well, to be honest, it didn’t matter what you looked like, since you were gonna be changing anyway.
You got yourself ready for the day ahead of you, leaving your dorm to grab breakfast. All you heard was chatter about the Poe Cup. How Bianca was probably going to win again, and how annoyed they were over it. You ignored it, you heard talk like that all the time. Bianca was just crazy talented, and in your opinion others were just jealous. She was also dating a crazy attractive dude, so she had that going for her too.
You eventually found Bianca in the Quad, sitting next to Xavier who didn’t seem very interested in whatever she was saying. His pencil furiously scribbled across his paper, his brow furrowed in concentration. Bianca’s eyes met yours and she decided to ditch Xavier, who merely nodded in acknowledgement as she stood and went over to you.
“You ready for today?” She asked, the two of you heading to an empty table.
“As I’ll ever be.” You sighed, rubbing your temples.
“Your mom make you do it again?” She chuckled.
“Yup.” You muttered, taking a sip of your drink. The coffee at Nevermore wasn’t as good as the coffee at Weathervane. “Even gave me a whole plan.”
“You’ve got the principal on your team?” She scoffed a bit and crossed her arms. “Not fair.”
“You really think I’m gonna put in all my effort?” You snorted in reply. “I don’t care as much as my teammates about winning this stupid cup. It doesn’t matter that Mom came up with the plan if I don’t give a single shit about it.”
“Well, you have a point.” She agreed, resting her cheek against the palm of her hand and glancing over to Xavier, who was still drawing away.
“…alright, spill.” You hummed, finishing your coffee. “What did he do?”
“He just got all bitchy with me this morning.” She said with a frown. “Said something about trust? I dunno, I was too tired to comprehend a lot of it.” She tapped her nails on the table.
“You think it’s cuz you’re a siren?” You inquired. “If he’s talking weird about trust. Unless you did something that I don’t know about.”
“(Y/n), you know I’d tell you. Or he would, telling you to tell me like you’re some messenger pigeon.”
“I already told him I’m done being Hermes for him.” You chuckled. “Got tired of it last fight.”
“It wasn’t a fight!” She defended, almost pouting when you quizzically raised a brow. “Whatever, but I swear I didn’t do anything to prompt it.”
“Maybe his little white boy ego is insecure for whatever reason.” You suggested. “You’ve never used your powers on him before, have you?”
“(Y/n)! You know I’d never!”
“Exactly. Then I think this is a ‘Xavier Thorpe can’t communicate’ case. Talk to him.” You shrugged, earning a sigh from Bianca.
“It’s not that easy.” She said, looking back to you. “If you were in a relationship, you’d know.”
“Uh huh. Well I am definitely not in a relationship.” You chuckled, finishing up your food. “Don’t plan to be.”
“Oh yeah?” She cocked an eyebrow, glancing to your phone on the table as it lit up. “Who’s Tyler?”
Your eyes followed her to the phone, to which a banner appeared on your lock screen, which was a message from Tyler.
“No one.” You said simply, taking your phone and putting it in your pocket.
“Oh no, now you gotta tell me.” Bianca demanded with a mischievous grin. “You talkin’ to someone?”
“He’s just the barista from Weathervane.”
“Why do you have just the barista from Weathervane’s number in your phone, hm?”
“He’s been tutoring me, I guess.”
“Just tutoring?”
“Bianca!”
“Okay okay, kidding, sorry. But seriously, the barista at Weathervane’s been tutoring you?” She questioned, sitting up as she was now fully interested.
“Yeah. That’s how I aced my homework assignment.” You chuckled.
“Isn’t he the sheriff’s son?”
You shrugged. “I dunno. Why?”
“Well, a dude named Tyler who works at Weathervane who is also the sheriff’s son destroyed Xavier’s mural in town along with some of his buddies.” Bianca said. “He was pretty upset about it.”
Weird.
Tyler doesn’t seem like the type who’d do something like that. He was so sweet to you, and always seemed more introverted. His dumb friends came into the coffee shop every once in a while, and Tyler always seemed so uncomfortable.
“Huh. I’ll mention it to him next time I see him.” You promised, before checking your watch. “We might wanna go get ready. It’s about that time.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~🛶~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“O. M. G.”
Here we go.
“(Y/n), you look so cute!” Enid squealed after you exited the tent in your black cat costume. You really hadn’t wanted to do the nose and whiskers, but Yoko pretty much forced you down.
“Don’t push it, Enid.” You sighed.
“So! You mentioned not being in the boat! What’s your plan?” She asked, a huge grin on her face.
“You’ll see.” You waved your hand. “Good luck, Enid.”
“Oh- well okay! Kick some butt, (Y/n)!” She grinned, and you gave another half-assed wave of your hand before trudging to your spot in the woods that your mother told you to wait at. Sure enough she was right.
Kent was standing there pretty awkwardly, but with anticipation. He seemed antsy.
Bianca probably came up with this one.
You stayed hidden, about ready to pull out your hair when your mom started her big long speech. It reminded you of her lectures. Finally, the cue was given to begin. You waited patiently until Kent dove into the water, and you did the same along with the item you held. He didn’t seem to notice, watching as his legs molded into a long tail.
Within about five seconds, you looked exactly like him. You shuddered at the feeling of the tail. Yuck. You clutched the net you held, taking a deep breath before darting over.
Alerted by the noise of your swimming, Kent whipped around and his jaw dropped at a copy of himself zooming towards him with a net. You swam circles around him before diving down and catching him in the net. You smiled cutely and waved, smacking his head with your newfound tail. His eyes rolled back into his head and he began to sink.
That was sort of…exhilarating.
You remembered the task at hand and swam towards the surface, looking for the canoes. You caught Bianca’s gaze, who glared and you and beckoned you over and angrily gestured to the vampire boat.
Right, you were currently Kent.
You decided to play along as to not arouse suspicion. You darted underwater over to the boat, before placing your hands on the boat and shaking. There were yelps from the vampire as their boat began to rock back and forth. You gasped as a compartment in the bottom of the boat opened and a full spear shot out. You let out a yelp and dodged, but the spear fully took out a good chunk of your forearm. You shrieked and grit your teeth, trying not to lose focus and change back into your original self.
You shot up and grabbed the side of the boat and flat out pulled it over angrily, pretty pissed that you were losing a bunch of blood from your forearm. You punched a couple vampires in the face and darted off. By the time you caught up to everybody else, they had gotten to the island. A couple people were guarding the boats, and you waited patiently from afar.
You spotted Xavier and Rowan running back with their flag. They hurriedly got into the boat and their team began to row away. Bianca soon followed, and she shouted angrily at who she thought was Kent to get them. You rolled your eyes and swam after Xavier’s boat, doing the same thing you did with the first boat. You made sure to keep an eye out for traps, not wanting to get impaled or anything.
Just as you thought, some compartments opened and curved blades appeared. They were about eight of them protruding from the bottom, all in L shapes pointing to the edges of the boat. You grit yourself teeth and carefully swam to behind the boat in hopes to slow it down.
But you forgot about one crucial thing. Or one crucial person.
The resident telekinetic.
You felt an invisible force grab you by the throat and force you up out of the water. You let out a shout and gripped at your neck, obviously grabbing onto nothing.
“Uh-!” Rowan’s eyes were wide, like he didn’t know what to do next. He looked at Xavier in a panic.
“Knock him out or something!” Xavier yelled.
Your mind raced. You needed to come up with an idea and quick. You took a deep breath and started to shift into Rowan himself, hoping to scare him enough that he would drop you. Everyone in the boat was completely stunned, and Rowan let out a shout and quickly threw you back into the water. Your head collided with the side of the boat and then…
Everything went dark.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~🌊~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you came to, you felt your head pounding. Your ears rang as you slowly opened your eyes, which one of them also felt sore as well. The light was bright. Too bright.
“(Y/n)! Oh my gosh, you’re alive!” A loud voice exclaimed, only making your head pound even more.
“Shh!” Someone else shushed, but you could hardly see the people in front of you because of how bright the light was.
“Wh…huh?” You said groggily, your eyes adjusting to the light. There in front of you was your entire team, back in their uniforms but still wearing the cat makeup. “Guys?”
“Oh, I’m so glad you’re okay!” Enid said, not listening to whoever had shushed her. “I had no clue that was you the whole time! Xavier Thorpe said your name or something or said something about you and then we all saw you in the water!”
Oh. Right. Rowan dropped you. You being unconscious must have reverted you back to your regular form.
“Did we lose?” You asked, and Enid smiled half-heartedly.
“Yeah. Only because we stopped to go get you.”
Your heart sank. They lost because of you. You were so careless and got hurt, and they all suffered.
“Oh. Okay.” You breathed out. You knew they’d all try to reassure you, but you weren’t going to believe them anyway so what was even the point?
Then, a light clearing of the throat got the attention of everyone. There stood your mother, an almost unreadable expression on her face. Your teammates got the idea, waved to you and left. Once they cleared, she sat at the edge of the bed.
“How are you feeling, sweetheart?”
“Not great. My head feels awful.” You said honestly. “My eye kind of hurts too.”
Your eye pain wasn’t as prominent as your headache, but you didn’t think much of it as you reached up to rub it. Your mother tensed. You were confused for a split second and then you felt it. The skin didn’t feel as the rest of your body. It felt rough and uneven. It wasn’t some dry skin, either.
“Mom. Get me a mirror.” You said, feeling the rough bit of skin around your left eye. It was in a longer stripe going up and down the eye.
She sighed and fished around in her pocket and pulled out a compact mirror, handing it over and lightly putting her hand on your leg for comfort. You opened the mirror and held it up to reflect your face.
There was a scar running over your left eye. Gross and ragged skin in a line about half an inch thick and about five inches long.
“Mom…what the hell happened?” You breathed out shakily, reaching up and tenderly running two fingers along the scar.
“When Mr. Laslow dropped you off the side…you knocked your head and one of the blades sticking out from their boat…well, you can see.” She sighed. “You’re lucky your teammates pulled you out in time. You could have…drowned.” She said, her voice strained as if she were forcing them out.
“Oh my god.” You breathed out, shutting the mirror and tossing it on the bed. “And you made me do this stupid thing!”
Anger suddenly welled up inside you. You had never wanted to participate. You only agreed at first because Enid was sick, and it was unfair to her to risk losing like that. But because of your mom’s need to win, you suffered. You could have died.
“I never wanted to do this!” You shouted, relieved the infirmary was empty. You moved your leg away from her hand. “This is all your fault!”
She flinched, like she knew you were right, but she didn’t reply.
“Now I have this ugly scar and maybe even brain damage from almost drowning! I hope every time you see me you get reminded of what you did! Now get out!”
Your mother winced once more and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. “I know that people your age says things they don’t mean.” She breathed out, standing. “I’ll let the nurse take care of you for now. I love you very much, dear.” She leaned down, planting a motherly kiss on the top of your head before walking out.
Well maybe you were a bit harsh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~🏥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After being looked at by the nurse for about a day, it was determined you were now suffering from mild hypoxia brain damage.
Basically, the restricted flow of oxygen being supplied to the brain had fucked up your head. Luckily, it wasn’t severe, and the nurse told you not to worry about any of the more intense side effects. She did warn you about headaches, disorientation, poor concentration, and difficulty coordinating balance. It also turns out you’d been out cold for a day when you first lost consciousness.
Great. More impairments for your grades.
The nurse let you go and you made a beeline for your room, angrily throwing the door open and shut. You sat on your bed and took some deep breaths, trying to calm yourself down and think things through. You knew your mom didn’t want anything terrible to happen to you, what you said just slipped out. You should be angry at Rowan, not her.
You were interrupted by your thoughts by a buzzing of your phone, that was oddly charging on your nightstand. You didn’t remember putting it there.
You took it off the charger and checked it. There were a lot of messages from your friends. Bianca had sent about fifty, Enid about fifty-five, and Xavier around ten. You decided you could catch up with them later. You see them like, every day.
What really caught your eye was Tyler’s name popping up. He only sent you about two messages.
Yesterday: Hey! Haven’t heard from you. Hope you won!
Today: I didn’t see you today. Everything alright?
Why did he bother texting you? You couldn’t believe he even remembered. Guess you were the star customer of Weathervane.
You quickly typed a response.
Yeah, just some injuries from the Cup. I should be back tomorrow.
You were very surprised at how fast he replied.
Oh no! I hope you’re feeling alright. Although, if you are coming tomorrow, I am off work.
Oh? That’s alright, I can just not come in.
No no no! I actually wanted to see if you wanted to grab a coffee and sit with me?
Holy shit. Holy fucking shit.
HOLY SHIT.
Was he asking you on a date?
Like…a date?
Y’know, yeah. Like a date. I’d like to get to know you more aside from tutoring
If that’s okay, of course
Holy. Shit.
Alfred Molinathon Day 2:
The Steal (1995)
Cliff Williams
Tumblr media
His Role: I didn't expect much going in. Hell, I have never heard of this movie till I watched this for the marathon. A sculptor and clean freak roped into a hi-tech robbery with the messiest American woman to exist and it's a romance!? Excuse me? I love it. I was not expecting a romance, I just knew it was a comedy!
He was hilarious to watch in this unraveling series of events. Him playing this Tony Brummel character and Kim, as his fiance? I love her aggressive, fake New York accent and her playing dumb. Every time no one was looking, he'd just quietly snap at her. To which I was mimic but with more aggressive growling because I thought it was funny to me.
Kim being tech savvy and Cliff being a luddite (being opposed to new tech) is interesting. She'll go on about the intricacies of what she can or can't do with her laptop and him just trying to grasp any of the words she's saying. But then the reverse happens when it comes to his building planner expertise, and she gets feel the ame as hedie with her hacking. Very nice touch, simple and effective.
Every time she'd make a mess and he just stare in disbelief of her disrespect, I really felt that (even though I can also be quite messy). Her being like, hey, I made you coffee and he finds the milk and stuff spilled all around the cup of coffee was insane. I swear she had to do that on purpose!
Kidnapping Childwell was certainly a chore for the two, first getting the man in the first place! Cliff putting on a fake beard over his beard was an interesting choice, and it constantly falling off when waiting for Lord Childwell to get ready was making me squirm with anticipation of the fact he might get caught, always trying to fix while quickly switching back to his stoic and stone-faced persona as the driver. I'd probably keep questioning my eyes or sanity if I was the Lord. And the drive while Kim tries to start the gas to knock him out, my God! What was the issue? Have Cliff help you! Instead, it kept spiraling out of control till the point she just shoves the little hose into the man's mouth and held his nose. Goodness, savage. After getting him to Mrs. Fawkes and taking the poodle pictures, Cliff is constantly threatening to cut off his ears and be like: I'm not being serious, calm down, you should have Stockholm by now. And yet he gives him a coat because he's worried he'll be chilly when they drop him in the middle of nowhere... he's giving this man whiplash! Probably Kim too. To be honest, I'd be the same.
I realized when watching this that wet suits? Kind of sexy, at least on those two~
Kim pretending to be French while Childwell shows up to the house and also starts speaking French, what does she do? She just outright drops it and says she's screwing with him. Just so random and hopefully it was believable for the moment. This movie has the calmest and most quaint car chase ever between the two duos (Kim & Cliff/Childwell & Wilmot). Not super tense or funny, it was just weirdly low stakes. But after that's all said and down, the inflatable boat going off in the car and the other duo driving into the water, we get Cliff getting reasonably upset and wanting to back out but BAM! A kiss from Kim! Then straight to the sewer.
The whole sewer scene. If I had a nickle for every time there was a sewer scene on 1995 movie with Alfred Molina in it, I'd have two. Which isn't a lot but- yes I know he wasn't in the sewer in Species. Anyways, it's a great long scene building the tension, and he's so damn impatient, I understand why. Being heard and someone slowly coming down to their little hideaway and the water quickly rising? Add in the fact that it was his fault they heard him, but it was whoever put that thing he accidentally kicked down the later when having a leg cramp. Kim just waiting and waiting, almost like a gambling addict waiting for a big win. Which, oh boy do they. After they finally leave and have to dive and swim underwater, I was actually worried Kim just outright drowned when Cliff couldn't find her, I would've been devastated. But thankfully she doesn't, I needed the two just caressing each other's face in the water, thank you.
The robbery was successful and they live on a beach, a nice call back to the beginning, where she saw Cliff's very interesting sculpture. At first, it looks like a cobblestone walkway (on the wall), but if you slide the two pieces apart, there's a beach underneath. She says that she likes the beach, he explains that it's metaphoric and also he doesn't like the beach. Yet, here they are together at the end. Finally, he can just retire and follow his interests instead of being a planner for the town council, all with Kim. It just ends right after.
Overall, I enjoyed Cliff and Kim's antics and blossoming romance very much. And of course him getting angry or frustrated never get old
~~~
The Rest of the Movie: I went through most of the plot on the above section. But we have Jeremiah, the man who instigates the whole thing. At first I thought from the description it would just be for money, but no, it's to steal from a corrupt bank chairman for cheating the people of Golanda and give it back to them. A more noble act than I expected. But after appearances, he disappears halfway through the movie, which I didn't mind. But the end he tells Childwell and Wilmot what's going on and I didn't exactly know why but it all went well in the end. 28 million was sent to the people of Golanda to help heal the damage that banker cost them.
~~~
Childwell and Wilmot were an unexpected turn into the story, I really liked their shenanigans with trying to figure out what kind of car he was transported in during the kidnapping (a Morris Minor or a Moggie as some call it). He has perfect memory of his surroundings; the feeling, sounds and the not very helpful clues in the pocket of the coat that Cliff gave him. Wilmot thinking it's all political got a chuckle from me.
Wilmot himself is quite interesting, having fall out of favor after some sort of exposure of his "parties" yet many people seeing him and knowing his style of living are quite friendly towards him. I love that everyone keeps asking if this whole search and the fact they keep seeing Childwell in his trousers (helps the process, really) and Wilmot simply says: of sorts~
~~~
The comedy itself is hit or miss, got a real taste in the beginning when Kim was in America. They tried with physical humor and such, but the cuts, pacing and delivery were very hindered. But I do believe it got better later on.
It's a nice quick watch, so if you have the time, I suggest checking it out if you like these type of heist movies.

Just Dizziness - Chapter 12
That night I dreamt of him again.  This time I was at a coffee shop.  I had an awful night’s sleep.  All I wanted was to get my tea, maybe a sweet, and retreat to my book on my day off.
While waiting in line, I peered around, trying to find a good place to sit once I had my tea.  I had just spotted a small empty booth when the gentleman in front of me received his order and whipped around, accidentally bumping into me and spilling his coffee all down my front.
“I’m so sorry.  Are you alright?” he said.
I was holding in a shriek as the coffee was extremely hot.  “I’m so sorry sir!  I wasn’t paying attention to how close I was standing,” I replied.
“It’s entirely my fault.  I wasn’t paying attention, and I’m more than happy to pay to have your dress cleaned.”
I was grabbing napkins, trying to soak up some of the coffee, but it was too late.  Although it was one of my favorite dresses, it was old, and this was the final nail telling me it was time to let it go.  I had held onto it for so long because it was incredibly comfortable, but I had spent longer than necessary patching up holes and treating it with the utmost care.  In reality, I should have gotten rid of it some time ago, but it also held memories of me and Sarah  as she was the one who had given it to me many years ago.
“No, it’s ok.  It’s so old, and it was already on its way out anyway.”
“At least let me pay for your order?”
“You really don’t have to.  I know you didn’t do it on purpose.”  I finally looked up and realized who I was talking to.  As much as I thought I would be starstruck if I ever had the chance to meet Tom Hiddleston, I couldn’t help but lock eyes with him.
When he finally looked at me, he appeared to be awestruck, gazing back at me.  I didn’t realize, but there was mutual enamoration.  I knew who he was and knew he had many thousands….. no, millions of fans and figured this had to be how everyone felt if they ever got the chance to meet him.
I finally spoke.  “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to stare.”
His eyes stayed on me.  He probably had meetings to get to.  I’m sure he wondered why I was staring at him, but I couldn’t help but wonder why he kept staring back at me.
“I’m so sorry.  I assure you, the fault is entirely with me.  I really should pay better attention to those around me.”
Peeling our eyes away from each other, he gestured to me to place my order and then ordered another coffee for himself.  I didn’t know at the time, but we both attempted to resist holding hands.  After all, we just barely met, but by the time our orders came, we were standing closely to each other, fingers millimeters from touching.
“Would you, by chance, be available this evening?  I would love to take you out to dinner.”
I couldn’t help but blush.  No matter what plans I may or may not have had for that evening, they were canceled.  I wasn't even going to bother to check before answering him.
“Yes, yes I am.”
“How does 8 sound?”
“8 sounds great.”  I knew I would criticize myself for that rhyme later.
I gave him my number.  He then texted me so that I would have his.
“It was such a pleasure meeting you.  I’m so sorry for spilling my coffee on you, but unfortunately I must run.”
I smiled like a loon.  “It’s not a problem.  I hope you have a great day!”
He smiled like a big goof on his way out to the car waiting for him.
I took my tea and muffin to the booth and pulled out my copy of Wuthering Heights.  I tried to read for the next hour or so but found I couldn’t focus on the pages, my mind drifting back to him.
That evening, he knocked on my door.  I had just finished getting ready after spending hours trying different outfits before finally settling on one.  He took me to dinner at a local restaurant I’d never been to.  We both chatted away, sharing stories about our life.  Without thinking about it, I found that at some point, we were holding hands across the table, neither letting go nor wanting to do so.
Once dinner was over, he took me for a stroll around the park as neither of us seemed to want the night to end.  When there were silences, they were comfortable, which was unusual for me with someone I didn’t really know, especially being with a massively attractive and popular actor..
When he took me home, he gave me a kiss on the cheek, then asked if he could take me on another date the following night to which I eagerly agreed.  I was completely and irrevocably in love with this man I had met only today.  This wasn’t a celebrity crush, at least not anymore.
When waking up from this dream, I had that same loony grin on my face before I realized the dream felt familiar.  I wasn't sure why, but it was just such a great dream.

"Alright, everyone," Veth says with authority, and everyone else quiets down. "Tomorrow is the big day."
Caleb sighs and ducks behind his drink. There is a speech coming. This is exactly the sort of ceremony he had hoped to avoid by having this get-together at his home rather than the bar Veth had suggested. It's only five of them, tonight; Beauregard and Yasha are always in town, and Veth had insisted on coming. And Essek, of course. He's not sure when the elf's presence at his side became an of course, but in a careful way, he likes it.
“As the person in this world who cares the most about Caleb--”
Essek silently quirks an eyebrow at that, and it doesn’t get past Veth.
“Alright, come on, just because you got him into bed and I didn’t doesn’t mean--”
Caleb clears his throat loudly, and Veth’s smile snaps back into place.
“As Caleb’s oldest, dearest, truest friend,” she says, and Essek manages to look dignified even while rolling his eyes, “it is my humble duty to tell you all how amazing he is on this momentous occasion.”
“You know, I am starting a new job, not getting married,” Caleb murmurs in her direction.
“And we’re all very proud of you!” Veth replies.
Caleb takes a long drink as the others chime in with agreement. Yasha shoots him a sympathetic look, and he returns a tight smile.
“Come on, man,” Beau says from where she leans against the table, “aren’t you excited, at all?”
He takes a long breath. Excited is a word for it. Ready to vomit at a moment’s notice is perhaps more accurate. The Soltryce Academy is tricky. He’s been back there a few times in recent weeks, for interviews and preparation, and each time, it’s felt like walking through a dream of a place the mind could not quite capture properly.
For whatever purpose, Trent has always wanted Caleb - Bren - to follow in his footsteps. Those footsteps feel a touch too literal in those hallways.
“Caleb?” Beau’s voice brings him out of his thoughts. “You still with us?”
He shakes his head. "Ja. Entschuldigung. There is a lot to think about."
Veth lowers her glass, frowning. "Nobody threatened you, did they? Because I'll have words with them."
"No, nothing like that." Not lately, anyway. He sets his own drink down on the table. "Just a bit worried, perhaps."
"Worried about what?" Beau asks flatly.
Caleb lets out a long breath, looking down at the floor. Where to begin? He’s worried that everything will go wrong. Worried that he’ll turn up with his clothes on backwards, or spill coffee down the front of his shirt, or trip over his words before the lesson even starts. Worried, most of all, about what comes after.
“I hope that I will not…” He searches for the right words. “I hope that I will be able to serve my students well enough,” he settles on. “The examples I have had were, ah….” Trent Ikithon is not one he wishes to emulate.
Essek frowns. “Carve your own path,” he says. “Someone as brilliant as you are needs no one to emulate.”
“Ja, well, that is fine for throwing together a spell or two, but I imagine the students will need a little more structure.” These are young minds. Any mistakes he makes will stick with them. He, of all people, knows just how much.
“Maybe you could ask them what they want from you,” Yasha pipes up. “You know, make sure you’re doing alright.”
Caleb lets out a long sigh. “Ja, maybe. That is a good idea.” Of course, it also requires that the students in question trust him enough to give him a straight answer.
They sit in relative silence for a moment, working away at their drinks. He hopes Veth doesn’t resent him for stepping on the atmosphere.
“Seriously, man, you’re gonna be great.” Beau knocks back the rest of her drink. “You’re already the best professor I’ve ever known.”
“I do not think the owl counts as a point of comparison,” Caleb deadpans. “Regardless, I will settle for not making a fool of myself for a first impression. That will be difficult enough.”
Beau shrugs, and reaches over to refill her glass. There’s a devious look in her eye that makes him nervous. "So why don't you practice?" she asks.
Caleb looks at her warily. "Practice?"
"Yeah, man." She gestures at the others. "Here's your class. Teach us something."
Before he can object, she’s already begun to pull an armchair toward the coffee table in the center of the room. Soon enough, three more seats have joined it, all on the same side. She throws her arms wide with a challenging grin.
“First day,” she says. “Don’t be late.” With that, she flops down onto the rightmost chair.
Transfixed in bemusement, Caleb watches as Yasha and Veth rush to occupy the next two seats in the makeshift classroom. The Expositor commands a room, it seems.
“Are you comfortable with this?” Essek murmurs as he brushes past as well. “I am willing to be the, ah... wet blanket, if need be.”
Caleb sighs, briefly twining their fingers together and squeezing once before letting him go. “Not comfortable, no, but it’s not a bad idea.”
Someone wolf whistles from the peanut gallery, and Caleb turns a fond glare on them all. All three of them are, of course, the picture of innocence. He shakes his head as Essek settles down primly in the last remaining chair. It’s not exactly the picture of an academic setting, with their glasses of half-finished booze still on the table in front of them and the lot of them draped over armchairs and ottomans.
“Alright,” says Beau, who has not even bothered to put her drink down. She makes a trilling sound that he thinks is probably meant to emulate a school bell. “Hit us.”
"We will be brutally honest," Veth promises. "Which means we will tell you honestly how perfect you are."
"Or if there's anything you could do better," Yasha adds.
Caleb stares back at them. It’s nothing he hasn’t gone over in his own head a hundred times. Even once or twice, to a captive audience of cats. It’s a short class. It will be over before he knows it.
The others look up at him expectantly. Watching him. Waiting. Caleb clears his throat.
"I, ah... feel a bit silly,” he admits.
Without a word, Essek waves a hand, and the familiar faces before him shift to those of strangers.
It’s almost embarrassing how much it helps. Caleb takes a deep breath and lets it out, running through the lesson plan in his head.
"Guten Morgen, class, I am, ah… Professor Widogast." It's the first time he's said that particular pair of words out loud.
"Whoo!" the student who is not Veth shouts.
"Yeah!" the student who is not Beau chimes in.
Caleb gives them a look and straightens his coat. "This is Introductory Transmutation, in room 142, so if you are all in the correct place--"
"Professor?" The student who is not Yasha raises her hand.
"Ah, ja, Miss…"
"Lionett."
Not-Beau slaps a hand over her own mouth and mutters, “Holy shit,” into it.
“Was that too much?” not-Yasha whispers.
“Babe, it was so hot,” not-Beau hisses back.
Caleb clears his throat. "Miss Lionett, do you have a question?"
Not-Yasha seems to suddenly remember her role, and she folds her hands in her lap. "No," she says, "I have to use the bathroom."
Caleb pinches the bridge of his nose as not-Beau bites back a giggle. “Ja, okay, go.”
“Don’t let her go!” not-Veth interjects. “She knew it was almost time for class; she should have gone earlier.”
“Dude, if she has to pee then she has to pee,” not-Beau protests.
Pointedly, not-Essek raises his hand.
Caleb lets himself sigh with relief. “Ja, Master…?”
“Gross, Professor, we don’t need to know about your weird sex dynamics,” not-Beau says.
Not-Essek’s face blooms red, and Caleb presses a hand to his face to hide the same. “You know very well, Beauregard, that it is an honorific.”
Not-Beau shrugs, looking very pleased with herself as she takes another sip of her drink. Not-Essek glares very polite daggers at her before clearing his throat.
“Thelyss,” he answers.
Beau cups both hands around her mouth and boos.
“No, it’s better that he’s honest,” Veth says. “We already know he’s a terrible actor.”
“Herr Thelyss,” Caleb says, raising his voice above the heckling. “Do you have a question?”
Essek leans forward, resting his elbows on the table in a gesture that’s much too endearing. “I wondered what you will be teaching us today, Professor Widogast.”
Caleb tries not to dwell on the way the title hits differently on Essek’s voice, instead straightening up and waving one hand behind him. An illusory chalkboard appears in the air behind him to polite applause from Veth and Yasha. Back on track.
“Well, this is your first day,” he says. “So I know that - Beauregard, please remove your feet from the table - I know that most of your other teachers will be spending time going over the material that you will be covering this semester, but, ah…” What is he meant to be doing with his hands? They feel limp if they’re at his sides, but too formal behind his back and too awkward in front of him. Perhaps he should have a lectern? Somewhere to rest them, or shuffle with papers?
His gaze drifts back to his “students,” who all blink back at him expectantly. Essek inclines his head as though to prompt him on. He clasps his hands in front of his chest, hoping it will do for now.
“Right,” he continues. “Ja, so I thought we would take a look at something more practical to start. We will leave the reading for tomorrow; you have enough of that today.”
He waves his hands again, and behind him, a set of runes and diagrams appears on the chalkboard. Above it is written the word Prestidigitation.
“So, ah, partner up,” he orders. “Introduce yourselves. If there is someone on their own, a group of three is perfectly acceptable.”
“I call Miss Lionett,” Beau shouts, grabbing Yasha’s hand.
“Can I go to the bathroom, first?” Yasha asks.
Caleb gives her an incredulous look.
“I really do need to go,” she says.
He gestures towards the hallway, and she shuffles off. In the meantime, Veth and Essek scoot their chairs closer together. Caleb’s gaze lingers questioningly on Beau, who shakes her head.
“She’s not learning anything tonight, man. Go ahead.”
“Ja, okay,” he says distantly.
It feels silly, explaining the spell to this motley crew. Beau has leaned back in her chair, arms crossed, eyes glassy, clearly not paying an ounce of attention. Essek has produced a piece of paper upon which Veth occasionally scribbles, though the way he periodically nods approval at Caleb’s points betrays his own prior knowledge of the subject. After a few minutes, Yasha returns and attempts to take down notes of her own.
“Is everyone following along?” he asks after a while, knowing it’s a futile question.
“Yep,” Beau lies.
“Hmm.” Yasha hums.
“Perfectly,” Essek says.
“You’re doing amazing, sweetie,” Veth confirms with a wink.
He continues, running them through the various applications one by one. Beau gives him an occasional “uh huh” that he believes not one bit. At one point, he catches Essek take a passing glance at Veth’s paper, widen his eyes, and lean forward to murmur something to her. He isn’t sure he wants to know what that’s about.
“Let’s keep focused, please, everyone,” he reminds them.
Essek waves a hand to signal him to continue. Nothing too scandalous, then. He goes through the final few points, then comes to stop in front of the chalkboard, hands awkwardly clasped again.
“Okay, that is it,” he says. “You have as much time as you require to finish the spell, and when you are finished, I would like one person from each group to demonstrate.”
He gives the others a questioning look. It’s one of the points he’s most worried about. A way to take pressure off some of the slower students could just as easily be a way to unintentionally foster competition and resentment. But none of them objects, so he gives them another nod.
“I suppose we should skip the demonstration portion,” he mumbles.
“I can do it,” Yasha chirps. Without warning, she swings the massive greatsword from her back and sinks the tip into the table, making the others jump. “I made a small mark.”
Caleb covers his eyes with one hand. “Ja, will it go away in one hour?”
Yasha silently places her drink down over the indentation. Caleb sighs. It isn’t as though he has very many guests, anyway.
“I can probably swing producing an odor, for you,” Beau offers. “But I figure you probably don’t want that.”
He ignores her, and instead gives Essek a tight smile.
“Well, would my second group care to demonstrate?”
Beau jerks a thumb in Essek’s direction and fake-coughs to Yasha, “Teacher’s pet.”
Essek ignores her and sits back, fingers working in those little patterns he draws when something has piqued his curiosity. “I believe so,” he says, and nods to Veth.
Caleb raises his eyebrows as all eyes turn to Veth. Though Essek had the courtesy to leave her a halfling, her features and coloring are entirely different - but that wide smile as she stands and rubs both hands together would give her away, no matter the face it was set in. And as Beau swears under her breath, Yasha and Caleb look on wide-eyed, and Essek watches with a smirk, she pulls her hands apart to let loose a shower of sparks.
“You… learned the spell,” Caleb says numbly. He hadn’t imagined any of them were actually paying attention.
“It was an excellent lesson!” Veth replies.
As she takes her seat again, Beau and Yasha give her a smattering of stunned applause. Essek clears his throat pointedly.
“And I guess, maybe, Essek gave me one pointer,” Veth amends with an eye-roll.
“Hey, so your partner system worked,” Yasha points out.
It had. The lesson had worked, the procedure had worked - his teaching had worked. There’s still a little voice in his head reminding him that Veth is brilliant, and an adult, and perfectly capable of learning things like this without even so much as his help - but he can’t deny that it’s his guidance that taught her this particular spell. ‘An excellent lesson,’ Veth had said. In this moment, he’s inclined to believe it might be half true. Caleb realizes very suddenly that he’s beaming.
With a snap of his fingers, Essek dispels the disguises. The soft smile on his face - his real face, and Caleb always misses it dearly when it’s hidden - says he hasn’t failed to notice Caleb’s relief.
“Danke, all of you,” he says sheepishly, waving a hand to vanish the chalkboard.
“Thank you!” Veth says. “For the shiny new spell and for the masterclass in professoring.”
“You were really good,” Yasha agrees. “I’m, uh... I’m sorry about the table.”
He dips his head to hide the way his face is flushing. They exaggerate, the lot of them. But there is something to be said for having friends who will say such things. “Ja, well,” he says, “I am not convinced it will translate to an actual class, but I will hope.”
Beau takes another swig of her drink, wiping her mouth afterwards. “Dude, we were the worst and you still managed to teach somebody something,” she says. “Those kids have nothing on us. You got this.”
He offers her a smile, retrieving his glass from the table as Yasha, Veth, and Essek do the same. He hopes it’s true. He hopes that, separate entirely from his ability to teach them the how of magic, he will be able to keep them safe. That he will be able to keep from passing on any damage he received in his own time in those halls.
He catches Essek’s eye, and the knowing look there puts some of the anxious buzzing to rest. He will be better. He will struggle, most likely. He will stumble, inevitably. But he will give better than he got. He’s been practicing that part for years.
“To Professor Widogast!” Veth shouts, breaking him out of his thoughts.
“Professor Widogast,” the others echo, and Caleb smiles.
“To my very good friends,” he replies.
“To the hottest professor the Soltryce Academy has ever seen,” Veth shouts in response, and Caleb nearly chokes on his drink when Essek casually clinks his glass against hers with a nod.
They drink together. Caleb thinks, just a little bit, he might be excited.

thanks @peregrintook for reading this over and telling me it wasn't the worst thing i had ever written (in much more generous words than that), and @saturdaysky for catching me red-handed last time i deleted it and being so kind about it 💜

Remember that silly random scene I posted here a few days ago? I decided to actually write it, especially for @lovelypattranite – who is so sweet and who I hope will like this 🥺 (but I mean, you don't have to read it if you don't want to gshdhs).
Also I wrote this at 1 AM so yeah 💕
Boys being boys, and Black being smitten (in his own way) ~
Tumblr media
There's something liberating in nights like this, something that tastes like happiness.
Gram shoots a look at his friends – who are sitting around the table, all drinking and laughing and making terrible jokes – and thinks that he wouldn't trade this for anything else in the world.
They're together, they're safe, there's food in their bellies and cheap alcohol in their glasses, and for a second Gram can close his eyes and pretend that's always been like this. That nothing bad has ever happened to them.
Black is typing something on his phone. Gram has no idea what it is, because every time he tries to get a good look at the screen the other elbows his side and tells him to mind his own business.
Gram is too giddy to care.
Also, he's pretty much used to that side of Black, and has stopped taking it personally a long time ago – years before they even became a thing, when they were nothing but teenagers who dreamed that they could change the world.
They're all grown up, now.
Their dream stayed the same.
So he just shrugs and looks at his friends again, enjoying the conversation even though he's not sure what they're talking about anymore.
“My boyfriend is so cuuute”, Sean sing-songs, snaking one arm around White's shoulders to pull him closer. “He brought me breakfast in bed the other day”.
Gram steals a glance to the side, and snorts when he catches Black raising his top lip in poorly concealed disgust. He doesn't say anything, though – long gone are the days when he used to scoff and snarl and curse at the other man as soon as he got his hands on his brother's body.
Wow, how far he's come...
“It was just coffee”, White says. “And I only did that because you were late for class and you said you wouldn't get up without coffee, what the hell are you even going on about”.
“So cute”, Sean says, like he hasn't heard him at all.
“I literally threatened to spill it all over you”.
“The cutest”.
“Yeah, well, my boyfriend”, Yok says, “lets me draw him every time I ask without complaining”.
“Wow”. Sean snorts. “He sits down in front of you, what. A. Saint”, and then he looks around the garage, making a show of squinting like he's in search for something. “And where is he now? He can't even grab a drink with his boyfriend”.
“You jerk, he's busy”.
“All I'm hearing is you're so right Sean, you clearly got the superior boyfriend, mine doesn't even stand a chance, you're so--”.
“So full of shit!”
They go on for a while. They're both a bit drunk, contrary to White who looks kinda done, ready to hit Sean in the face with the nearest bottle. Any second now, really.
Gram would kill to be in his place right now, but he can't even imagine Black joining them in such a silly competition, and the fact makes him feel more than a little wistful. A little left out.
It's not that he's not sure about Black's feelings. The other is not overly affectionate, but he's not cold either – not to him, anyway, and definitely not when they're alone, curled against each other in bed. He wouldn't say that Black is a cuddler, exactly, but he can be soft when he wants to, and sweet, and gentle – but not here, and not now, and not in front of them.
Even if Gram tried to be the sweet one, even if he was the one praising Black like he deserves – because he does deserve it – he doubts that his efforts would be appreciated. So he stays silent and enjoys the show, and if he scoots a little closer to his boyfriend as he does so, well, who can blame him? It's a bit cold in here...
The competition gets heated. Sean and Yok raise their voices, trying to talk over each other and making so much noise that Gram can't even tell who's saying what anymore.
“Keep it down”, White whines, downing a shot of vodka to forget his current misery – at least that's what Gram infers from the look on his face. He's so done. It's pitiful to watch, really.
“Yeah, guys, chill”, Gram says, but the others aren't even listening, too caught in their discussion to care about anything else.
“Your boyfriend literally tried to arrest you--”.
“Well your boyfriend deceived you for months--”.
White gasps. “I wasn't trying to deceive--”.
“Well, my boyfriend didn't--”.
“Shut the fuck up, all of you!”, Black shouts. “You all sound like a bunch of twelve-year-olds”.
They all turn to look at him – all except Gram, who's trying not to laugh as he takes in their confused and somewhat embarrassed expressions. No, scratch that: Yok and Sean are way too drunk to even remember what embarrassment feels like, and White is thankful someone finally made them stop.
“And you're all wrong anyway”, Black continues, staring at them over the hem of his phone. “I've got the best boyfriend, you dipshits”.
Gram turns his head to the side so quickly that he gets whiplash, and when the whole table erupts in cheers, and his friends start teasing him because “Call an ambulance he's gonna faint!”, he can't even find it in himself to be embarrassed.
“Are you trying to kill me?”, he asks.
“Tsk. Stop being so perfect if you can't handle it”.
Black goes back to looking at his phone, leaving Gram on the verge of an emotional breakdown. He's pretty sure his heart is gonna burst any second now – maybe Yok had a point when he said to call an ambulance. Maybe he needs it.
But if this is how he dies, then it's worth it.
Black takes his hand and intertwines their fingers. He shoots him a sidelong glance, and when Gram smiles at him, the corners of his mouth twitch, and his eyes soften.
Oh, Gram wants to kiss him so bad.
He can't wait to go home tonight.

A Day Well-Spent
Pairing: Mob Boss!Bucky Barnes x F!Reader
Genre: It's like... fluff to the extreme
Warnings: mention of guns
Requested: nope
Summary: Y/N has just moved to Brooklyn and doesn't know how things are there. Bucky Barnes runs things around Brooklyn but what happens when they meet? Will she run away or will she still shoot her shot?
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! Okay, first of all, THANK YOU FOR 500 FOLLOWERS I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH I LOVE Y'ALL SO MUCH. also i think im obsessed with mob fics????? chile anyways so... enjoy!
---
"Ready to go, sweetie?"
"You know it, babe," Y/N grinned at her friend, Clarice. The two, on their way to work, had stopped by a coffee shop for their daily dose of caffeine. As they walked out of the café, Clarice turned to Y/N. "Finish your story! What did Brad say to you after that?!" Clarice reminded her and Y/N giggled.
"Oh, he was just too sweet! But not my type, ya know what I mean? I didn't know how to turn him down," she sighed. "Poor guy. If he had approached me…" Y/N lightly shoved her friend. "I have his number, should I pass it on?" Clarice turned to Y/N, wide eyed. "Darling, you're too good to me," she spoke with a strong Brooklyn accent.
Y/N burst out laughing. She had moved from another part of the country to Brooklyn for education; along with attending college, she was also working as a waitress at a nice little restaurant. That was how she met Clarice, her being another waitress at said restaurant. The two became fast friends.
Clarice was a few years older than Y/N, a single mother with a 4 year old son. Her son was extremely cute. As Y/N continued laughing, she didn't notice how her friend stopped in her tracks. Clarice was busy staring at the huge hunk of a man a few feet ahead of Y/N, standing in the middle of the pavement with his phone held to his ear, his back to them.
Bucky Barnes.
That man was James Buchanan Barnes, the King of Brooklyn. He ran the whole damn city along with his mob; very important and influential. On top of that? He was hot-headed, easily got angry and people knew what happened when he got angry. Except Y/N. Y/N didn't even know who he was.
As Y/N neared Bucky, still laughing for some reason, Clarice thought of calling out to her. And alert him of their presence? No way! "Clarice, you know I love it when you do your acc—" All of a sudden, Y/N collided into a soft wall, spilling her coffee all over it. Opening her eyes, she found out that it was no wall; instead, she had collided straight into a person.
And drenched his back with coffee.
He was wearing what looked like a very expensive suit and Y/N immediately felt guilty. "Oh my goodness, I'm so fucking sorry!" she blurted out as Bucky pulled the phone away from his ear, turning to look at her. His men, who were loitering around, had her surrounded as they pointed their guns at her. But she didn't notice.
She was busy staring at Bucky, her jaw slightly dropped. Hot damn, he is good looking, she thought to herself. It wasn't until he cleared his throat that she snapped out of a daydream. He had a stern expression on his face and she realized she messed up. He's someone important. Then she started apologizing profusely.
Bucky simply stared at her, taking in her features as he gave her a once-over. She's new, he realized, not from Brooklyn. "Hey, hey, hey, it's okay," he chuckled and she immediately shut up, offering him a timid smile. "I really am sorry, I feel like a total ass. That suit looks expensive, sir, is there any way I can help? Maybe pay for dry cleaning?"
"Do you know who I am?" he instead asked and her brows furrowed. "Oh Lord, am I supposed to know?! One mess up after another…" she grumbled and Bucky couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry. My name is Bucky Barnes, you may call me Bucky." At this point, even his men were surprised, lowering their guns.
Clarice was still standing there and one of the men caught her eye. He nodded his head towards Y/N and Clarice gave him an unsure smile. He sauntered over to her. "She's with you?" he asked and Clarice groaned, dropping her head. "She's new to Brooklyn, and has no idea who he is. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience."
The man smiled at her. "No worries, looks like the boss isn't gonna hurt her. I'm Sam, by the way." Clarice gave him a shy smile. Sam was also very good-looking. "I'm Clarice, nice to meet you." Better to remain on the good side of the mob. Back to Y/N and Bucky… "Bucky, that's a good name. Short for anything?"
He ran a hand through his hair, grinning. It had been years, years since someone outside of the mob had spoken to him so freely and without fear. It felt nice and refreshing, even more so because Y/N was super gorgeous. "James Buchanan Barnes." Y/N couldn't help but laugh. "Named after a president, huh?"
"You making fun of my name now, doll?" he smirked slyly. "Oh no no, I wouldn't dare," she flirted easily, "My name is Y/N. I still feel bad about ruining your suit, you won't even take the money…" Bucky waved her off. "First, Y/N is a wonderful name. Second, you don't need to worry your pretty head over me, this suit can easily be replaced."
"Then how about this? A coffee. My treat. It'll make me feel better," she insisted. Bucky raised a quick brow, thinking that he would be the one to ask her out but oh well, this works too. "Let's call it a date, shall we?" he purred, taking a step closer to her. She didn't back off. "If you'd like," she grinned up at him.
He couldn't help but grin back. "Excellent. Then how about you put your number in my phone and I pick you up next Sunday at 7 pm?" He thrust his phone into her hand and Y/N swore she heard someone gasping in the background. Bucky Barnes was a very private person but here he was now; handing his phone to a stranger.
She quickly put her number in his phone and handed it back, smiling. "I'll await your call." He leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "I have to go now, so I'll see you later. Say hello to your friend from my side. Sam! Stop flirting, man, we gotta go!" Y/N looked over her shoulder to see his friend flirting with Clarice.
She laughed and turned back to Bucky, who was already looking at her with a goofy grin on his face. "I'll see you next Sunday, Mr Barnes. Again, sorry for the suit!" He waved his arm in dismissal and got into the car, throwing her one last blowing kiss before zooming off. Y/N walked back to Clarice, who was staring at her, jaw dropped.
"I know the hell you didn't just do that."
"Did I do something wrong?" Y/N frowned. Then, all of a sudden, a wide grin bloomed on Clarice's face. "Do you even know who you're going to go on a date with next Sunday?!" Y/N blinked. "Is he someone important?" Clarice made a sound of indignation. "Important? Bitch, he's the Kingpin! The King of Brooklyn! A mob boss!"
Y/N's eyes went wide. "No way," she scoffed. "Yes way! Ask anyone! He runs things around here, babe. It was fun to see him all soft, though, he's kinda hot-headed and hard to impress. Even women stay away from him. And now you two are going on a date?! If this relationship does not end in a marriage I'm suing."
Y/N flushed slightly and punched Clarice on the shoulder. "Clair, we haven't even gone on one date." Clarice shrugged. "A girl can dream. Oh, your children will be the most beautiful! Did you see his right hand man, though?! Mamma mia! Said his name was Sam Wilson, I got his number!" The two reached their workplace.
Inside Bucky's car, he was still smiling, lost in thoughts. "So, that chick, huh," Sam spoke devilishly from the driver's seat. Bucky looked at him. "That's no way to talk about the future Mrs Barnes," he admonished and Sam chortled. "Dude, you haven't been on even one date! Slow down, chicks don't like dudes who plan out a marriage on the first date."
"But I know I'm right, so why shouldn't I plan?" Bucky shrugged. He was more than confident that Y/N was going to become his in the future. The way she looked at him, spoke to him, flirted with him… it was enough for him to become smitten with her at the first glance. "What about you and her friend, huh?"
It was Sam's turn to become flustered. "Clarice Light. Has a 4-year old son, Aaron." Bucky nodded thoughtfully. "A mother. Well-maintained looks," he commented, laughing when Sam punched him on the shoulder. "Why don't you think about your own chick and leave mine alone?"
---
Y/N frantically smoothed out her dress, checking herself in the mirror. She wore a beautiful, nude coloured bandage dress that reached mid-thigh, along with similar coloured heels. Bucky was coming to pick her up in 5 minutes. Even after finding out who he was she didn't back away, instead finding it empowering that the most important man in Brooklyn wanted to take her out on a date.
All of a sudden the bell rang, pulling Y/N out of her thoughts. The first thing she saw upon opening the door was a huge bouquet of red roses right in front of someone's face. He then moved the bouquet to reveal his face and Y/N smiled broadly. "Bucky!" He grinned back at her. "Hi, doll! Here, an extraordinary bouquet for an equally extraordinary woman."
"You're too flattering. These roses smell amazing, thank you so much." She took the bouquet from his hands and kept it away, stepping out of the house. Bucky offered her his hand and she took it, allowing him to lead her out of the building and towards an audacious, ridiculously expensive looking car.
"Everything about you is lavish, huh?" she teased as he ushered her into the passenger seat, sitting next to her. "Bad to have a taste for the finer things in life?" he teased right back, placing his hand on her thigh as the other gripped the steering wheel. "No, I mean, you are the Kingpin. I should expect luxury."
He glanced at her to see her grinning at him. "You found out?" She nodded. "Yup, Clarice told me as soon as you left. I don't mind though, I'm just wondering… why me?" He laughed. "Why you? Sweetheart, you are the first person aside from Sam who has talked to me so freely since… since I was 18. And you're gorgeous. So why not?"
"Again, with the flattery…"
"Just stating facts, my dear."
"Also, my friend has a crush on Sam, so do tell him to ask her out." Bucky laughed harder. It had been years since he'd enjoyed himself so much. "Really? He has a crush on her too! I guess I'll tell him tomorrow." Y/N looked out of the window. "Where are we going?" Bucky gently squeezed her thigh. It was clear he wasn't taking her to a café, like originally planned.
"A picnic in the park." Y/N's eyes lit up. "I love picnics!" she squealed. "Then I guess I made a good choice," Bucky chortled along. The two soon reached the park and Bucky got out of the car first, holding the door open for Y/N to step out. "A gentleman," she noted, making him grin. He then took out the picnic basket from the backseat.
Y/N laid out the classic pink and white checkered blanket that he had brought along, taking off her heels before sitting down. "Ugh, I'd have worn pants if I knew I was going to be sitting on the ground," she groaned as she somehow sat down, adjusting her dress.
"You look gorgeous in that dress though," Bucky commented, "But you don't need to worry about public indecency because it's just you and me in the park." Y/N blinked at him as he sat down, opening the basket and taking out food. "Just us? You booked the whole park?" Bucky smirked at her. "It's easy when you run things around here."
Y/N fondly shook her head. "So much effort." He winked at her. "All for you, doll, all for you." The two maintained a chat as they ate. "So, you're new here. Why did you move to Brooklyn?" Bucky asked her. "Education. I go to [Name] college, actually, and work part-time as a waitress for some additional income," she hummed. He nodded thoughtfully.
"What about you? Is the mob a family business or a start-up?" Bucky smiled at her boldness. "Family business, my dad used to run it before me. I was 16 when I took over." Y/N realized what must've happened and gave him a sad smile. "I'm sorry for your loss." Bucky returned the smile. "It's fine, he was no saint."
"No?"
"Yup, hated him actually. Used to be cruel to my mom, to me too… until he got shot. Best day of my life." Y/N gasped quietly. "Bucky! He was your father!" Bucky chuckled mercilessly. "An asshole is what he was. Geez, speaking of, my mom is gonna be so happy."
"What's her name?" Y/N took a bite of her sandwich. "Winifred. She's awesome, raised me and my sister alone, ya know? Dad was always too busy. My mom will like you, I can tell. And so will my sister." Y/N smiled at that. "A sister?" He nodded, excited to talk about his family.
"Rebecca Barnes. She's a few years younger than me, maybe your age. She goes to your college too." Y/N suddenly squealed. "You mean to tell me my best friend from college is your sister? Rebecca Barnes?!" Bucky smiled so wide he thought his cheeks were gonna tear. "You've met her?" Y/N vehemently nodded.
"She's really great, the only person kind enough to introduce herself on the first day I moved in. She was the one who showed me around campus and I found out that she mostly spent time alone because no one wanted to talk to her, her brother being involved with the bad side of law or something. But I didn't care. I still don't. She's awesome, you're awesome."
Bucky felt himself tear up at her words. "Doll, you have no idea how much that means to me." Y/N grinned at him, scooting sideways so she could lay her head on his shoulder. "I'm serious, you know. I can't wait to tell her about this." Bucky laughed in a watery tone, pressing his lips to her temple.
The two quietly ate after that. When the food was over both of them lay down on the blanket, looking up at the starry sky. "It's so beautiful," Y/N whispered, cuddling into Bucky's side as she stared at the gibbous moon. Bucky wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer to him.
"It's nothing compared to you."
Y/N laughed quietly and looked up, the same time he looked down. They met each other halfway; their lips connecting softly yet eagerly. Lost in the kiss Bucky sat up, pulling Y/N on his lap as they continued making out. Finally, after what felt like hours did they pull away, breathless. They said nothing; Bucky looked at her as if she hung the moon.
Y/N stared at him as if he were the only thing in the world. "So, when will I get a second date?" she broke the silence, leaning down to press her forehead to his. "Oh, doll, you're not getting rid of me any time soon," he shot back, laughing. Y/N giggled along and stood up.
Both of them packed their things and got into the car, Bucky offering to drive her home since it was late. So I guess it had been hours. As Bucky drove, Y/N's phone chimed. He glanced at her when she laughed. "What's so funny?" Y/N wheezed before answering.
"I've got two texts. One from Becca and one from Clarice."
Bucky couldn't stop his chuckle. "What did Becca say?" Y/N read out, "Girl, just heard you're on a date with my bro? And I— I swear if you don't become my sister in law, I'm suing." Laughter filled the car. "She really said that?" Y/N nodded. "Yup! Even Clarice, on the day we met, said the same thing! It's nuts. We just met and they're already planning a wedding."
"Speaking of, what was Clarice's message?"
"Oh nothing, just that she got back home from a date with Sam a few minutes ago."
"What?!"
"What's wrong with that?"
"That asshole had work today!"
"Bucky!"
All in all, it was a day well-spent.

warnings: kissing? kinda steamy. bickering and teasing
a/n: was fun writing this one haha i love writing tropes/prompts like this!!!! i'm always open to requests x
Working for an F1 team has always been your dream. You’ve always admired how much work and efficiency is needed in getting the results each team aims for so when you were given the chance to be part of something that special, you jumped and took it immediately. It was obviously also a plus that you’d gotten offered to work for Aston Martin since it meant helping out a team that was rebuilding. You’d be lying, however, if you said that everything about your dream job was perfect. Great environment? Check. Opportunity to travel? Check. Making enough money? Check. Great drivers? Debatable.
The job offered to you was to be the personal assistant of one of the drivers, Lance Stroll. You were really excited when you heard you would be working that closely with him since that meant you’d also get to be closer to the action and learning all about the inside-outs of racing. What you weren’t expecting, however, was for the both of you to start off on the wrong foot which then spiraled into him being literally the only person you did not get along with in the team and vice-versa.
“Oh my god. I am so sorry.” Your cheeks are heating up and you stare at the large coffee stain now covering what once was a clean green Aston Martin shirt. You look up and make eye contact with the guy you’re supposed to be working for now. Just your luck. This was not how you wanted to meet Lance Stroll on your first day. The person behind the hospitality counter hands you tissue and you’re about to hand it to him but he snatches it out of your hands, a scowl on his face. “I’m supposed to be going to the media pen. You’ve obviously ruined that now. Do you even know what you’re doing?” You reel back a bit, kind of shocked at how sharp Lance’s words are. He doesn’t even glance at you as he walks away, shaking his head. He makes his way upstairs, presumably to ask someone for a new shirt instead of going to the media pen. Maybe he was just having a rough day. How was he going to react when he found out you were going to be his new assistant?
“No way. This is a joke.” Nope. He isn’t having a rough day. He’s just being a total jackass. You try your best to act professionally as Lance comes into the room. “She can’t be my assistant. She literally caused me to be late to my schedule for the day. I need someone competent.” You furrow your eyebrows, starting to get frustrated with the guy in front of you. Sure, you had messed up. It was an accident and after asking around, Lance had actually made it just in time to the media pen earlier that day. You had apologized too. “Look, I’m sorry that my coffee had spilled on your shirt but that isn’t a basis for how I work. My competency does not depend on whether you were standing too close to me.” You shoot back. Lance has an incredulous look on his face, glancing at his dad who is watching all of this unfold. You probably shouldn’t have said that last part but you were not going to let someone put all the blame on you. Lawrence Stroll, your boss, just looks on and is clearly amused at what’s happening.
Lance continues looking at his dad, trying to convey how displeased he is with the decision made. “Lance, Y/N’s track record and experience is actually very impressive. I think she’ll be very good for you. You both just started off on the wrong foot. You both have a lot to learn from each other.” You flash a smile at Lawrence then look at Lance, who is still not smiling. You don’t like the guy but if this is what you have to put up with to continue doing your dream job, you can be damn sure you’d be professional.
“You don’t have to like me but we are going to be working closely together so I’d suggest sucking it up. Let’s try this again. I’m Y/N.” You say, reaching a hand out. Lance glances at your hand and grimaces. He shakes it once then puts it down, not bothering to introduce himself. He storms out of the room immediately after. You were beginning to resent the job you so desperately wanted.
“Lance, whatever it is you’re trying to do, it’s not going to work with me.” Lance cocks an eyebrow up at you, clearly amused and suddenly turning whatever you’ve said into a challenge. A couple of months after you both started working together, you both had fallen into a routine of your own. The both of you bickered incessantly and never bothered getting to know each other. It was always you giving Lance a rundown of his schedule, prepping him when necessary and Lance shooting back a snarky remark or pretending to ignore whatever you said. “What do you think I’m trying to do?” “You’re trying to be an idiot again.” Lance rolls his eyes at you from the couch. You were currently going through his schedule for the day at his driver’s room but he just wasn’t listening to you. Every time you’d glance up from your clipboard, Lance was scrolling through his phone, not paying attention.
“I’m serious. You messed up the press conference last week by talking about something the team was not ready to share yet. I specifically told you not to and you did anyway because you weren’t listening to me.” “Well, do a better job at making me listen then.” He says, finally glancing at you. You let out a frustrated sigh. “I didn’t think you were the type to need to be babied,” You taunt, making your way to the couch. “Do you need this actually shoved in your face for you to listen? Is that the pace we’re going for?” You place the clipboard directly in his line of vision, on top of his phone. You glance at his face, now way closer to you than it had been a couple of seconds ago. Only a couple of inches separate you both. Lance looks at the clipboard then at you, clearly unamused.
“Are you saying I’m slow?”
“You said that, not me.”
“Ridiculous.”
“I know you are, but what am I?”
The exchange between you two has you both glaring at each other, getting closer to one another’s faces. There’s a tiny glint in his eyes, almost as if he’s amused by what’s happening. You can imagine you have the same one. “You’re actually impossible.” He says, still looking straight into your eyes. You pretend to squint, inching just a bit closer to Lance’s face. “Would you look at that? It’s like looking into a mirror.” You don’t realize how close you two actually are until Lance breaks eye contact, glancing down at your lips then back up to your eyes. The mood in the room has suddenly shifted, everything feeling a bit too hot for your liking. The position you’re in isn’t helping at all either. For some reason, you’ve found yourself beside Lance, your sides touching. Lance’s arm is draped on the part of the couch behind you and your arm is still on top of your clipboard, which is on top of his lap. Your faces are so near each other, closer than they’ve ever been before. You know you’re treading dangerous territory but for some reason you want to play with the situation a little longer.
“Do I need to get this close to get you to listen?” You whisper, glancing at his lips then back up to his eyes. Lance is clearly stuck in the moment too, trying to process what’s going on. The glint is back in his eyes. “I don’t think that’s close enough.” He whispers back. You inch just a bit closer, still not allowing yourself to connect your lips to his. You want him to make the move. You know this is another game you both are playing. “How about now?” He just shakes his head. You move in even closer, close enough that you can feel his breath fan your face. Lance rolls his eyes, obviously frustrated and decides to take matters into his own hands. One second you’re watching him in amusement, the next your hands are in his hair.
Lance crashes his lips onto yours, his arms quickly moving from the sides of the couch to your waist. Your hands find their way into his hair as you kiss him back with just as much intensity. There was no way you were actually doing this right now. What were you doing making out with Lance? What if someone entered? What if someone heard you both? These thoughts quickly exit your mind as Lance pulls you onto his lap, making you straddle him. He pulls away then starts trailing kisses down your neck. “You’re so hot when you’re angry.” He says in between kisses. “You make me angry.” You retort. You try to push your bodies closer together, feeling his excitement rub against your thighs. He groans. “You’re actually crazy.” He says before connecting his lips to yours once more. You both continue making out for quite some time until you feel your watch buzz with an alarm. Media pen. Lance needs to be in the media pen. You pull away and plant kisses in the sensitive spot near his ear. “You,” you start. “Need,” you kiss his jaw. “To go,” you kiss his cheek. “To the media pen.” You plant one last kiss on his lips then get off of him.
Lance looks exasperated on the couch as you smile down at him. “Are you being serious right now?” He asks. You nod your head, still flushed from what just happened. “Dead serious. Come on, off you go.” Lance shakes his head as he gets up, trying to process what’s just happened. You needed to process it too. You take a quick look at him to see if he looks presentable. You reach the bottom half of his body and blush. You make your way out to the door. “I’ll let you fix yourself up and meet you outside. You have five minutes.”

A/N: hello everyone! I am not D/deaf or Hard of Hearing. However, this was requested more than once I wanted to do my best to provide. In this story, Y/N is a part of the Deaf community. if I have misrepresented the Deaf community in any way or wrote something inaccurate or offensive, then please DO NOT hesitate to let me know (respectfully, of course!) i wanted to fulfill this person’s request and be as inclusive as i could, as i don’t typically see stories with a Deaf!reader. shes short and sweet but i hope you all enjoy anyway! as always, feedback is very much welcomed and appreciated! :)
Summary: Y/N visits Harry’s coffee shop every Tuesday and Thursday and always orders the same thing. Harry HAS to get to know her!!!
word count: ~1.7k
my ko-fi! thank you :)
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Every Tuesday and Thursday at exactly 3:50 PM, Y/N placed an online order that consisted of an iced chai tea latte with oat milk and a butter croissant from Harry’s coffee shop, Queen Anne’s Coffee.
Y/N never forgot to add, “warmed up pls! thank you :)” in the section for comments, and she always tipped. She would then come into Harry’s shop approximately ten minutes later, walk up to the ‘pickup’ counter, grab her items, smile at Harry, and promptly leave. Harry never even so much as said hello to her, but he was irrevocably captivated––even if she was a complete stranger.
Harry decided that when Y/N came in today for her usual, he’d finally talk to her.
Business had been unusually slow for a Thursday afternoon but Harry didn’t mind–when Y/N came in, he’d be able to have a proper chat with her without having to rush the conversation along to help other customers. His gaze kept floating up to the cat-shaped clock hanging above the door, anxiously awaiting 3:50 PM when Y/N’s order would come through on the iPad and he got to read the words, “warmed up pls! thank you :)”
Harry didn’t know why he was so nervous to speak to her. As the owner of his very own coffee shop (and it’s only employee), he got to know the people who came in regularly well, even developing genuine friendships with some. It bothered Harry that this beautiful person gave him business two days a week and the only thing he knew about her was her name, which is only because he can see it when she places her order online.
When the iPad Harry keeps plugged up atop the counter chimes, he doesn’t even have to glance at it to know it was Y/N but he does anyway, feelings of excitement bubbling in the pit of his stomach. He was finally going to talk to her! Harry contemplates scribbling his number on the side of her cup as he’s writing her name but decides against it, not wanting to be too forward before they even formally meet.
When Y/N comes in ten minutes later, Harry can immediately sense something is wrong. She hardly looks up once as she shuffles from the door to the counter, hoodie pulled up and drawn tight over her head.
“Are you okay?”
Y/N doesn’t look up or even acknowledge the fact that Harry spoke. Even though there’s only two other people in the shop besides them, Harry figures she might think he was talking to someone else and addresses her by name.
“Y/N?”
She still doesn’t address Harry as she gives him a small smile before hurriedly exiting the shop, the bell above the door signaling her exit.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
When Tuesday comes, Harry’s out of bed before his alarm jolts him from his dreams.
He thought about Y/N all weekend as he impatiently awaited Tuesday’s arrival, excited over the prospect of finally seeing her again. He hoped she was doing better today than she was last week, and he really hoped she was in the mood to chat with him today.
Harry’s grateful the shop is busy today. It helps to keep his mind off of Y/N, and his eyes off the clock. When the iPad chimes at 3:50 on the dot, Harry decides he’ll wait until she comes in to prepare her order. It didn’t take him over two minutes, anyway. He figures this will give him a bit more time to chat with her, at least say hello and see if she’s doing better.
Much to his pleasure, Y/N has a big smile on her face when she bursts through the door ten minutes later. She floats to the pickup counter, then furrows her eyebrows in confusion as she looks up at Harry.
“Sorry, I’m working on your order right now,” Harry grabs a purple marker off the counter, scribbling Y/N’s name on the cup used for iced drinks. “How’s your day so far?”
Harry watches as Y/N cocks her head to the side in confusion, then pulls her phone out of the back pocket of her jeans. She quickly types something before holding her phone out for Harry to take.
“I can’t hear you! I’m Deaf.”
A look of realization floods Harry’s face as he reads what she said. He now understood why Y/N didn’t answer him when he tried speaking to her last week, and he’s secretly relieved that she wasn’t ignoring him because she hated him or anything like that.
“I know a bit of sign!” Harry types before handing Y/N back her phone. He watches as her eyes skim his words and she looks up, a toothy grin plastered on her face.
“Great! This is much faster.” Her hands move quickly as she signs. “Did my order work or not? Wi-Fi is bad at home today.”
Harry realizes he doesn’t know as much sign language as he thought he did.
“OK. I am rusty.”
Y/N smiles at this and pulls her phone back out, typing what she just signed to him before passing it back to him. A look of realization floods Harry’s face as he learns she was just asking if her order came through alright, seeing as it was not yet ready. Too embarrassed to tell her he intentionally waited until she arrived to prepare her order, he just nods.
“I’ll have it ready in no more than two minutes… and refund you, too. I’m sorry for the wait.” Harry looks up at Y/N as he passes the phone to her, eyes not leaving her face as he tries to gauge her reaction.
“No!” Her head shakes as she signs. “Happy to pay. Thank you.”
Harry understands Y/N but refunds her, anyway.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
“Why do you always come Tuesday and Thursday? Same time?”
“Exams every Tuesday and Thursday.” The look of obvious dissatisfaction on Y/N’s face makes Harry laugh. “Your chai and pastries cheer me up after.”
Harry’s face turns red at Y/N’s admittance, so he instead looks down, pretending he’s distracted by something on the iPad. He decides at that moment that he will no longer charge Y/N for her oat milk latte and croissant. She was a college student after all––if her financial situation was like Harry’s in any way when he was in college earning his business degree, it would probably be beneficial for her to save her money, anyhow.
Ever since Harry and Y/N’s first real interaction, Y/N had been coming into Queen Anne’s nearly every day, school supplies and laptop in tow. She always sat at the table closest to the front counter, directly in Harry’s line of vision so they could sign to each other.
Y/N provided Harry with some much needed (and enjoyed) company when business was slow, and she was helping him brush up on his sign language. Harry learned that Y/N is Deaf; her hearing is completely gone in her left ear and almost completely gone in the right. She’s the only person in her family who is Deaf. She also hated eggs, is lactose intolerant (hence the oat milk), has two older siblings, is a master’s student, and a plethora of other things that Harry had committed to memory.
“Thank you. I’m glad you enjoy.”
“Who is A-N-N-E?”
Harry grins. “My mother. Back in London.”
Y/N’s eyes widen. “London? Amazing! You must have an accent.”
It dawns on Harry that Y/N has never heard his voice before. “Yes. Are you from here?” Y/N nods in response.
“Whole life. Small town, but it’s home.” Her pinched hand moves quickly from her mouth up to her ear.
“Sorry. What?”
“H-O-M-E.”
A look of realization floods Harry’s face as he nods in response, signaling for Y/N to give him a moment as the bell above the entrance jingles. It seems as if the few people who walk through the door act as a catalyst for others to enter, and soon Queen Anne’s is at maximum occupancy and Harry is trying to make several drinks at once while taking orders. He locks eyes with Y/N a few times and she gives him a sympathetic look, not able to do much to help him out.
Harry decides that once business dies back down, he’ll find out if Y/N is interested in a part-time job.
⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Y/N was interested in a part-time job.
She was a fast learner and a hard worker. Harry was more than delighted to show her how to make every drink on the menu, and consume her failed attempts. It was nice having someone else behind the counter with him––he wished he’d gone about hiring someone to help him much sooner, but he was glad to now have Y/N by his side.
“So much chai! I thought only I drank this stuff.”
Harry’s gaze lingers on Y/N for a beat too long, causing her to shift slightly. Harry’s hand moves to scratch the back of his neck. “Yes. I like chai. With milk.” His hand forms a ‘C’ then closes to form an ‘S’ twice for the word “milk”.
“Regular?” One of Y/N’s eyebrows raises as she asks her question, setting a hot chai latte atop the “pickup” counter.
“S-O-Y.”
Y/N lets out a quiet snort of laughter as she shakes her head. It was the first time Harry ever made her laugh out loud. After hearing her laugh once, he never wanted to stop––it was music to his ears. “Not surprised!”
Harry’s eyes crinkle at the corners. “Why?” His eyes remain on Y/N as she walks around the small area, cleaning up a small coffee spill she had earlier.
“You just are a S-O-Y boy, H. My S-O-Y boy!”
Harry’s cheeks immediately turn pink as they did the first time Y/N said something that flustered him, but he doesn’t look away.
“You’re my O-A-T girl.”
⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Thank you everyone for reading!!! This is only the beginning of Y/N and Harry I think <33

Coffee Shop Kisses
Pairing: Yelena Belova x Female!Reader
Word Count: 1.5K
Request: something soft with Yelena from @bright-molina
Summary: After moving back to her small Ohio hometown, the reader bumps into an old friend at her favorite coffee shop.
Warnings: none ?
A/N: Happy incredibly belated Birthday Bianca!!! Sorry this took so long for me to write but I really hope you like it!! This fic has everything: the gays, some light pinning, and chai lattes !
Masterlist
___
You couldn’t believe you were back in your small Ohio hometown. When you moved away after high school it was never your intention to come back but clearly, fate didn’t have the same plans as you drove through your childhood neighborhood.
It was nostalgic, driving through the familiar streets despite the changes in the neighborhood since your childhood. While the houses had mostly remained the same, you knew many of their occupants had changed. The Browns no longer lived in the house two doors down from yours, having retired to Florida not long after their children had moved out, and many other family’s you’d known growing up had followed suit. Others had downsized to smaller houses in other parts of the city, no longer needing the extra space. Now the neighborhood was filled with new families, young parents taking advantage of the location to raise their children.
Still, the atmosphere was largely the same, and if you let yourself you could almost imagine that the kids playing in the front yards and the street or biking through the neighborhood, calling out to friends as they passed, were the kids you’d grown up with.
It was strange, being back home. It felt stranger still to call it “home.”
It didn’t take long for you to fall back into a routine, despite the lingering nostalgia. You woke up every morning with just enough time to get ready and drive downtown to work, if you were lucky you’d end up with a few extra minutes to stop into your favorite coffee shop from your teenage years, which was conveniently located a couple doors down from your office. It was simple, sure, but it worked for you.
On the weekends you always made a point to walk to that downtown coffee shop with a book or some other activity, preferring the ambiance and the subtle noise of the building and its other patrons over the still silence of your house. Plus they had amazing drinks so you really couldn’t lose.
Normally you enjoyed taking in the hustle and bustle of the small town around you as people completed their weekly errands, but that day you were lost in your head as you walked along the sidewalk. It wasn’t as if you were thinking about anything in particular (when reflecting back later you’d merely blame it on having had a long week at work), but rather than enjoy the people watching as you normally would, you let them all pass you by without a single glance, all the way down the street and into the line at your coffee shop. You ordered your usual without much fanfare, still having the presence of mind to drop your change into the tip jar on the counter. It wasn’t until you had gotten your drink that you were thrust out of your thoughts, quite literally.
You had only just turned around from the counter, about to start scanning the cafe for a seat when you were knocked to the ground, your drink spilling in your hands.
“Oh my god, are you alright?” Disoriented and still in a haze, the thick Russian accent of the woman who had spoken caught your attention.
A hand reached down into your line of sight and you took it gratefully, managing to keep the pitiful drops of unspilled chai latte in your cup as you were pulled to your feet.
“Let me buy you a new drink,” she offered though you barely heard her.
Now that you were back on your feet you got a better look at the woman who had bumped into you. She was of average height and had her blonde hair pulled into a double ponytail. You didn’t know any Russians but you could’ve sworn you’d met before.
“Do I know you?” You blurted out before you could think and the other woman blinked at you in surprise, brows lifting slightly.
“Perhaps,” she shrugged, “I used to live around here when I was younger.”
You narrowed your eyes at that, certain you would’ve remembered growing up alongside a Russian family, everyone you remembered was as American as they come. It was a small town in Ohio, after all.
“So did I,” you spoke slowly, still trying to ponder it out in your head. “Over on Brown.”
Her eyes narrowed at that, now scrutinizing you as well.
“I grew up on State Street.”
That’s when it clicked for you. You remembered them; family of four, two daughters. Natasha used to ride her bike down your street all the time which meant the woman in front of you must be…
“Yelena?”
“You remember me?”
“Yeah, holy shit! Your sister rode her bike through my mom’s flowers one time by accident, pissed her off for the whole summer. Plus, we went to preschool together.”
“Wait, Y/N Y/L/N?”
“In the flesh,” you replied, spreading your arms out dramatically.
Yelena took that as an invitation to really study you then, eyes flitting up and down as she fully took you in.
“You grew up quite nicely,” she spoke, tone appreciative and you found yourself blushing.
“I- I could say the same thing about you,” you stumbled over your words, feeling flustered. “I don’t remember you being Russian.”
You mentally cursed yourself for once again blurting something out before you could even think about it.
Yelena laughed at that and you couldn’t help but find yourself smiling at the sound. She had a cute laugh. It was fitting.
“Yes, well, my ‘family' and I were actually part of a Russian spy organization, sent to infiltrate a nearby SHIELD facility for some information, so,” she shrugged and you laughed at first, assuming she was joking before you realized she wasn’t laughing along.
“Wait, seriously?”
“Why would I lie?”
You fumbled around with your words at that, unable to come up with a proper response but feeling as though you needed to say something anyway.
“How about I buy you a drink and you tell me about it?” You finally settled on saying and Yelena’s brows lifted again in surprise.
“Sure, but I’m buying the drinks. I owe you for spilling your first one.”
You nodded in agreement, somehow having forgotten all about your spilled drink in the excitement of reconnecting with an old friend. An old friend who was very attractive, if you were being fully honest with yourself.
With new drinks ordered and retrieved, the two of you made your way to a small table by the front window of the cafe. True to your agreement, Yelena explained to you that her “family” when she’d lived in Ohio wasn’t actually her family at all, the entire thing fabricated for their mission, and that after their success she continued to work for the organization before finally getting out as an adult. She skimmed on a lot of the details but you got the sense that the entire ordeal was traumatic for her so you didn’t press. Though, you were quite amazed that the woman across from you (and the tiny blonde girl you’d played dolls with as a kid) was a former spy and assassin. In comparison, your own life story was much less exciting, though you guessed it also held much less trauma as well. Still, Yelena asked and she listened intently as you explained how you’d wound up back in your hometown all these years later.
After that, the conversation seemed to flow seamlessly from one topic to another, and it was so nice to talk to a friend and catch up that you didn’t even realize how much time had passed until you went to take a sip from your long-forgotten chai and found it ice cold. You checked your phone and were surprised to see that nearly two hours had passed and while you were planning on spending much longer at the cafe anyway, it still caught you off guard.
“Oh, I’m sorry, am I keeping you from something?” Yelena asked, having noticed you checking the time.
“No!” You rushed to reassure her before flushing slightly at the knee-jerk reaction. “No, I just hadn’t realized how much time has passed. It’s been really nice to see you.”
“It’s been nice to see you too, perhaps we can do this again sometime?”
“I’d like that a lot.” You tried to fight the heat that you felt rushing to your cheeks once more. You weren’t sure if she meant it the same way you did.
“Me too,” she replied softly, ducking her head so that her face was out of view. “I actually do have to get going but maybe we can meet here again next week?”
“Absolutely!” You nodded, trying not to seem too eager and failing miserably. “It’s a date.”
Once again the words slipped out on their own accord and you were left scrambling to do damage control.
“I- I mean like, y’know-”
“A date is good,” Yelena cut you off with a smirk, though you could’ve sworn you could see your own nerves reflected in her eyes.
“A date then,” you agreed, flashing a nervous smile.
“Goodbye, Y/N.” She stood from her chair with a smile, pausing on her way to the door to press a quick peck to your cheek, and then she was gone.
You sat there, still as a statue, for quite some time afterward, your fingertips lightly grazing over where Yelena’s lips had been moments before. You really loved this coffee shop.

Bar Nights | Dabi x Reader
Warnings: drinking (obvi), boss/worker affiliation, death/murder, straight smut (with a plot)
A/N: I'd say this is based in the US, plus a little bit of dark content. darker than my usual-ish, no yandere tho. also this was SO long I didnt edit it oopsie sorry
It was getting late; around three-am late, to be exact. I sat freshly cleaned shot glasses down on a towl, then moved to the end of the bar. The new hours had me messed up, some of my day shifts worked into doubles which turned into night shifts, making me leave around three or four in the morning.
Walking into the back break room, I grabbed up my purse and keys. Then I proceeded to open my bosses door, to say goodbye. When I did, I found he was asleep at the desk. I giggled a bit, seeing Dabi so tired. It was odd a man so young was running the bar. I was the youngest mixer but that was average. To be twenty-three running a night bar was very, very odd.
Still, I walked over and put my jacket I had in hand over his shoulders and turned off the lights to his office. I needed sleep before my next shift, which was at seven the next night. Usually I catch the young clubbing crowd, which means a lot of fruity mixes.
My apartment wasn't but a block away, so leaving Dabi resting, I decided to head out. Immediately I regretted leaving my jacket. Not because of him, but damn. "Shit its cold." I whispered to myself, the hot air from my breath creating a steam effect. Hurriedly, I went up the six flights of stairs it took to get into my penthouse like apartment near downtown, just on the outskirts of the commotion.
Deciding I needed immediate rest, I plopped onto the couch, and passed out.
Waking up to the sound of my three thirty alarm, I realized I had slept twelve hours in my living room. Deciding it was time to get up and do a little self care, I stepped through my kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee. I then went over to my stereo, where I shuffled through my phone to find the perfect song to begin my shower/getting ready regimen to.
"Call Me" By Blondie began playing whilst I got undressed to shower. After that I threw on some black pajamas and drank the rest of my coffee. My phone began to ring, to my surprise it was my co-worker, Kurogiri.
"Hey, tonight is no uniform night according to Dabi, so dress how you feel. Just thought I'd call and let you know before your shift." I could hear glasses clinking in the back, people talking. Was it really that loud? "Oh, okay, thank you. I had no idea. Dabi fell asleep on my shift last night, poor guy." I began prepping my fingernails for black polish, pushing the phone to my ear with my shoulder.
Kurogiri chuckled with his signature deep voice, "Yeah, I saw your jacket on his desk this morning. Wondered what that was about, he told me he woke up with it on!" I too laughed, "I guess I'm just a bad ass bar tender. What can I say? Anyways, I'm gonna get ready for my long night, thank you Kuro!" He mhm-ed me, then hung up. I was surprised he wasn't too busy to call, but more surpised I didnt have to wear a uniform.
When picking my outfit I went for more of an all black look, mostly because all I owned was that color but also so nobody could see if I spilled a drink. A simple cropped turtle neck paired with a pair of black cargo pants, and my favorite platformed docs to match the vibe. After doing my hair and makeup, I put on a second jacket do my walk downtown wouldnt freeze me.
My the time I arrived to the bar it was fluttering with people, families, friend groups. Kurogiri seemed to handle busy moments well though, not worrying about any of the people around him. I headed to put my things away and he greeted me with a wave.
Entering the break room, I sat my things down, then decided to check on Dabi before I headed out to assist Kuro. Opening his door, he was busy on his laptop set up, overthrows raising when he noticed me. "Ah, princess. What brings you back here?" My face flushed more than I noticed or cared to admit, the office smelled like the cigarette he had been smoking.
"Oh I was just wondering how you feel. Last night you seemed pretty tired." He looked up at me, shutting his laptop. "Yeah, I guess you could say that. I slept pretty well, though, I was rather warm. Wonder why.." His thumb grazed his chin dramatically and I giggled a bit. "Whatever don't mention it. Just don't pass out on me tonight, I might need you." He cocked a brow and grinned, "Needing me, huh?" I rolled my eyes and covered my face. "Oh stop it. I'll be on shift if you need me."
Kurogiri greeted me as I began picking up drink orders and charging people, he said he always enjoyed watching how fast I worked. Customers in and out. Kuro left around ten, leaving me to pick up the messy drunks of a Saturday night bender. Particularly one man, who stayed at my bar until one, when he decided to speak.
"You're a pretty girl, huh?" I froze, half a rag in a glass turned with my back to the man. I sighed. Old drunks were the worst. I turned to face him, "Guess so, sir." I then began cleaning off counters and discarding used fruits and salts. He followed me to the end of the bar, making me tense up. "It's rude to not ask a paying customer what he wants to drink.." He slurred. I sighed, throwing a rag over my shoulder.
"What do you want to drink, sir?" I asked, now leaning closer to him. That was a mistake, as he gripped the top of my shirt and jerked me up over the side of the bar. "You." I began to freak out as he pulled me closer, screaming for Dabi and kicking around. Dabi appeared around the corner, rushing over behind the man, hitting him in the back of the head.
He dropped me but Dabi didn't stop, he continued to hit him, with no resistance. I ran to to the other side, pulling his fist away from the bloody corpse, watching as the anger in Dabi's eyes faded as he looked into my own. "Jesus fucking christ Dabi, he's fucking dead!" I combed my hair back, sitting into my knees. Dabi did the same. I wasn't scared of him, but I was scared of the silence.
"I-Im sorry. But he was touching and I just, I don't know. Fuck, what do I do?" He leaned his head back, pushing his palms over his eyes. I thought for a moment. "We hide him." He looked at me in a little shock, then nodded. "Thank you." I pushed my head into his shoulder and told him it would be okay. Then I turned off the opened sign, and came back to Dabi, plus the dead man. He was a scrawny old man, nothing more. We both picked up one side and brought him around back. His head was bashed in, but Dabi's knuckles were busted and bleeding. After we threw him into a dumpster out back, Dabi called Kurogiri, who said he could deal with it.
When we headed back in, I immediately went to Dabi's office and found the med bag. He followed me loosely and lit a cigarette. "Hey, could you not smoke? I'm about to clean your knuckles dumbass." I rolled my eyes, pulling out the alcohol pads and bandages. "Okay princess." He ashed the bud out on his desk, putting his palm in my hand. I gently began cleaning the wounds, watching Dabi make no sudden movement to the pain.
Once it was bandaged, we sat adjacent to eachother. "Thank you, for that." I spoke. He waved his hand off slightly, "Don't mention it. Scumbag touches my princess and expects to get away with it? Fucking degenerate." I nodded then looked up. Our faces were rather close, yet I was having a hard time deciding what he wanted. Luckily he showed me moments later, when he kissed me softly. I realxed into his touch even though I knew it was wrong, thankful he had stayed awake tonight. He was so warm, it was hard not to fall into his arms when he pulled me closer, into his lap.
My legs hung over the sides of his chair, while his hands went up my back, pulling me closer. I could feel it- the hardness below me, sitting comfortably on his hard cock. My mind wondered how he could be so horny for me after killing a man, but our lips never disconnected for me to ask.
Finally when they did, his lips made their way down my neck, letting my airy moans fill the small office space. "You're such a good girl, (F/N). Sitting perfectly still on your bosses lap, begging for more." My hands rested on his shoulders as my face turned hot. "Y-You did say I'm your princess, so.." My head tilted as his mouth met my nipple through the fabric of my shirt. The sensitive bud was sandwiched between his wet lips, played with by his tonuge. His large hands gripped my ass, forcing me so I couldn't pull away, even if I wanted.
"That indeed you are." He whispered. I kicked my shoes off, leading him to do the same and begin pulling my pants down. There wasn't much talking as he drank in my body, his hands exploring each new surface as he sat me into his chair and sunk into the floor below me. He looked at me like I was prey as he softly kissed my inner thighs, leading all too close to my soaking wet pussy.
His mouth gently sucked my clit through my panties, his hands toying with my breasts as he moaned into me. His hand snaked around, pulling my wet panties off, exposing my swollen clit.
"Dabi, you feel so good." He darkly moaned as he pulled down his underwear to put his cock over my clit. He softly rubbed his pre-cum soaked tip over me, teasing me softly. "You have no idea how many times I've imagined you like this." He then pushed his cock inside, taking up each bit of space I had. We sighed together once he was all the way in, his hands pushing my arms just above my head.
"Don't scream, princess." I was confused until he started thrusting, realizing just how wet I had been, just how desperate for my own boss. His cock filled me up perfectly, hitting each spot as I moaned into his shoulder. His moans were perfect, we both filled the open space with nothing but sounds of pleasure and excitement as he fucked up into me.
Eventually I became close, he noticed, too. "Fuck, you get so tight when you're gonna cum on my cock. Let me give it to you, please." I nodded as my face heated, knowing we would cum together. His abs flexed hard as he came inside of me, my own body convulsing into his arms, as he wrapped them around me to become closer.
He pushed all the way inside once more, then kissed my forehead. "(F/N), you're so perfect. So, mine."

Switched | Suna Rintarou
Pairing: Suna X Reader (gender neutral)
Genre: fox! cuteeee flufff tehe
Author’s Note: @utskushiwaarudo once said “what if READER is the baby fox and inarizaki (or only one to two of them) is being domestic and taking care of them and they’re like omg y/n careful not to spill the food *napkin wipe*” so here I am months later ah ha ha
Tumblr media
Gif from @rivaillerose 💛
Dark storm clouds gathered all over the sky, not letting a single ray of sunlight in on what could’ve been what of the most beautiful days of the year
Suna laid on his stomach, his back slowly rising and falling, arms curled beneath the pillow his face was nuzzled into
He woke from his deep slumber when a loud boom sounded through the sky, making the ground vibrate
The blanket slid down his body, sliding off to reveal his toned bare back as he rose from the deep slumber he was immersed in
Your own mind began to pick up in activity as you felt the bed ship as Suna woke
Then it occurred to you how last night was the full moon
Today would be the day Suna would be in his little fox form, and it was honestly one of your favorite days of the month since he was especially cuddly
The way he would nuzzle into your lap as he slept all day
“Huh? How am I still-“ Suna looked at his very human hands, his brown hair disheveled from sleep until he saw you move as you woke
“Oh god…” Suna’s eyes went wide as he stared at you
Your body was as small as a newborn baby as you stretched sleepily, your bushy tail lazily wagging side to side, which he assumed you didn’t notice since you looked up to him with a fondness he normally woke up to
“Y/N… Don’t freak out..” His voice was low but you were more confused, especially how he scooped you into your arms, bringing you to the bathroom
Bright sunlight shined in through the skylight as he held you in his arms, standing the two of you in front of the mirror
You looked up to him numerous times as his eyes stayed on you through the mirror
Your pointed ears, dark brown fur that matched Suna’s hair, a bushy tail dangling over his elbow
You couldn’t believe your eyes as you panicked, swarming rapidly in his arms
You couldn’t even look at yourself in disbelief
“No, no, no, why- how?” You thought as you whined as you moved frantically in his arms, he was losing control
“Y/N, wait, you’re gonna- fall…” He winced hearing your loud cry as your body fell from his arms onto the cold tiled ground, scratches littering his bare arms and torso
A sore, aching pain waved through your body as your heart pounded rapidly in your, now little, chest
You had never been a fox before, and he still couldn’t wrap his head around as to why this happened, but you were uncoordinated with your body
Suna recalled the numerous stories and memories of his childhood when he first changed
His legs wobbled
He didn’t know what to do with his tail
He didn’t know how to do anything and all he could do was watch as his being was in a fox’s body and it was after a year
And now this was happening to you
But you were so shaken up, Suna’s heart dropped seeing the fear in your eyes
“Y/N, calm- Stop you’re going to hurt yourself,” He raised his voice higher as you whined, your feet slipping over the tiled floor as you tried to run away as if running could bring your body back to normal
“Don’t move, I got you, alright?” He knelt down, the sun shining from behind his body through the window, he seemed so ethereal through your eyes as he inched his way closer to you
You were shaking, back arched, tail curled in between your legs, claws sliding over the tiled floor as Suna spoke to you
It was so weird since you could understand him yet he couldn’t understand you
“I’m going to pick you up okay?”
You took deep breaths as your heart pounded in your chest
He carefully lifted you into his arms as a puppy, your nails just digging into his arms slightly out of fear but it wasn’t a pain he couldn’t handle
You whimpered as he brought you back to bed, sitting you carefully in his lap as he sat with his legs crossed
“You’ve been the one taking care of me for years whenever I had to change, so now it’s my turn. You’re going to be okay, alright? I won’t let anything happen to you,” he promised as you looked up to him
The way you looked at him pulled at his heart
You were too adorable in this form
Your ears back, eyes wide and glistening and watering
“Don’t cry, Y/N,” he cracked a rare smile as he pat your head, using his thumbs to wipe away the tears that had formed in your eyes
“You’ll be alright,” he leaned down, mumbling to your warm, fuzzy head, a rare gesture from Suna since he had always been one to internalize his thoughts and emotions
Rarely one to be the one to show his affection first, only sometimes in private, yet he did it right now as easy as breathing
“I got you,” Suna mumbled
Your heart melted at his words as you whimpered his love
You couldn’t tell if it was now that you were in this new fox form or what but you couldn’t help but let your heart melt at Suna
He sat you on the corner of the bed where you could still see him as he brushed his teeth and washed his face, finally putting a shirt on afterward
You felt so stiff as you sat there, not wanting to move, not wanting to rip the sheets or to fall or anything
You didn’t want to do anything except switch back to normal
After getting dressed and ready for the day, Suna lifted you into his arms like a child as he stroked his hand down your back side
“Is this what it feels like?” You thought to yourself as you let out a sigh, relaxing against his arms and touch, your muscles following his touch as you melted
“it feels so... good, no wonder he falls asleep so fast when I do it,” you yawned, your tongue automatically licking your own nose after you did so, something you’ve always seen other animals, and Suna, do and now that it was your turn, it felt so strangely natural
He carried you down the stairs in his arms as the rain bounced off the glass of the skylight that illuminated the stairwell just enough for the stairs to be visible
You could sort of feel suna’s skin but all you could really feel was a thin constant layer of warmth, and warmer areas where his body was pressed to you
“I’ll make breakfast,” he said as he stood in the entrance to the kitchen, humming to himself in thought
“where can I put them...” Suna stood there for almost a whole minute as you just stayed still in his arms, not knowing what to do since you couldn’t really do anything anyways
even moving around in his grasp was nerve wracking
you did not need to fall or break anything or hurt yourself
And suna knew this too as he thought
you were more than capable of being by yourself since you could handle yourself but he also wanted to keep an eye on you while he was in the kitchen but leaving you on the floor would be dirty and cold
but leaving you on a chair would be scary if you were to fall and hurt yourself
“Y/N, I’m going to leave you on the couch and then I’ll bring it over when it’s all ready, alright?”
He turned back, headed toward the living room toward the couches
He leaned over, reaching his arms to put you down
“It’s okay, you won’t hurt yourself at this height,” he smiled as your paws wrapped around his forearms, tail curling around as well. “I got you.”
You slowly let go, trusting Suna as he set you down onto the plush cushion
“You’re gonna be alright,” he patted your head as you sat on the couch
It felt so weird
like, you had control over your legs and arms like normal but sitting and standing and walking, it all felt so strange yet natural at the same time
And this was what Suna and the other inariaki team went through once a month
Suna stood in the kitchen, thinking about what he could possibly make with his skills
but now that he actually thought about it, it was always you who really fed him aside from Osamu
All he could think of to do was the standard cereal with milk
Suna wasn’t as skilled as you to do fancy things like make eggs and pancakes and such
He carried over two bowls of cereal with milm over to the living room, setting one on the coffee table that was just tall enough to be the same level as the couch cushion you were on
He sat besides you as he ate a big of his cereal before setting his bowl down and watched you
“How am I supposed to eat this?” You pondered as you stared at the cereal before you
You licked up the milk like a cat but you wanted the actual cereal before it got too soggy
You obviously couldn’t use your spoon
you ended up sticking your.. snout.. into the bowl, the cold milk stinging your nose but you were able to eat the cereal
it was good and even your tail wagged but it wasn;t the cleanest
“careful, Y/N,” Suna laughed as he plucked a few tissues, wiping your chin as well as the spilt milk around the bowl
Suna did as he said he would and watched you for the rest of the day, taking care of you
although he did have to call osamu on how to make some things but aside from that, it was fine
it was a very new experience for the both of you
but it showed you such a new side of Suna he never really expressed before

Threesome with Bokuto Kōtarō and Akaashi Keiji
Tumblr media
Alpha!Bokuto x Beta!Reader x Beta!Akaashi
Warnings: Omegaverse, double penetration, dubcon, creampies, some BokuAka action (bc those are my babies), this is long
Summary: After presenting as a Beta, your mother decided being friends with an Alpha wasn’t good for him. After moving, you befriended another Beta, Akaashi Keiji. After years of not getting over your childhood crush, you never expected to see him again as your best friend’s mate. Akaashi can’t take care of Bokuto through his entire rut, so he lets Bokuto have some fun. There’s a lot of catching up to do between you two, anyways.
— 5 years old, [Y/N]
“You need to stop hanging around that boy, [Y/N],” your mother had said to you one evening. You had looked at her confused, wondering what Kōtarō had to do with your homework. She continued, ignoring the look on your face. “He’s presented as an Alpha. You need to stop hanging around him.”
“That doesn’t matter, mommy. He’s my friend,” you had said, not quite understanding. “I don’t want to hurt him.”
“[Y/N], listen to me. He doesn’t want to be with someone like you. Stop hanging out with him.” At the time, you didn’t understand what your mother was saying. You thought that she had thought your friend didn’t want you as a friend. You’d prove her wrong when you finished your homework.
You had finished the work and immediately went to yours and Kōtarō’s spot, seeing the familiar spiked up hair on the young boy. His frown was unusual, though. “Kō-chan?”
“My mom said we can’t hang out anymore,”
— present day
You woke to the alarm from your phone, the rhythmic beat of the song shooing away the traces of sleep. Your eyes fall to the calendar across your room, seeing you had to work today. With a promise of a hot bath and a treat of ramen after your shift, you are able to get out of bed and get ready to start the day.
Your work shift was simple, just taking orders and making coffee for customers, occasionally bringing treats to customers at the tables. It was normal, right down to when your friend walked in. “Keiji!”
“[Y/N],” he smiled, not having the same enthusiasm but enough to satisfy you. You had met Keiji after you moved, shortly after Kōtarō ended his friendship with you. Keiji had presented as a Beta, just like you, so yours and his mother encouraged playdates and study sessions at each other’s house, hoping a relationship would bloom. “The usual, please,”
“You sure? The season specialty is here! I know you like pumpkin,” your smile turned into a smirk, knowing you had got him when his eyes widened. The season specials were ready to serve, but nobody had switched the menus up.
“Hm, I think I’ll go with the pumpkin latte for today,” he finally said, after weighing his options. You smiled and put in the order, knowing exactly how to work his buttons. “I’ll have to let my boyfriend know,”
“Oh?” That was new information. A week ago, Keiji said he was going to die single because everyone’s an idiot. Now he’s got a lover? “Do tell,”
“He’s an Alpha, but his parents don’t care. Don’t tell mom. She thinks you’re my soulmate, still,”
You guffawed at that, shaking your head at the memory. You remembered when you got older when Keiji’s mom had started giving you lessons in cooking and sewing, typical ‘wife’ things. Keiji smiled at your dramatic scene of laughing, knowing it was how you were.
“Wait till she finds out you’re mated to someone else,”
“I prefer to term courting to mate, since I’m plain and boring. He’s anything but, honestly,”
“Perfect match for you, Kei-chan,” you winked, seeing Keiji’s cheeks turn a bit pink at the inside joke. You laughed again, finishing up the last details on the latte.
“He reminds me a bit of you, actually. But without control or a filter,”
“Maybe I am your soulmate, you just don’t like me,”
“Haha, very funny,” he replied, walking off with a little wave. You wiggle your fingers, waving goodbye to him. After watching your friend leave, your shoulders sag a bit, remembering the young boy with white-and-black hair. Back then, you wouldn’t call it a crush. More of an admiration for the boy with no fears and a clear future. With more experience under your belt, you could admit it was a crush. The boy had stolen your heart and crushed it the last time you saw him.
You clean up the counter as the clock ticks, slowly telling you your shift is coming to a close. You feel like you want to cry, but you don’t know why.
The next day, your phone dings with a text message from Keiji, surprised he would shoot a text. He usually called unless he was busy in a meeting or something. Your eyes glance at the screen, trying to finish your essay for one of your classes. The message doesn’t strike you as immediately needing attention, so you ignore it, focusing on the paragraph you’re typing out.
Another ding takes your attention away from the screen completely, knowing Keiji really needed your attention.
[Keiji ❤️ - 12:17 pm]
- Can you bring some fruits to my apartment? I forgot to get some at the store. I’m busy.
[Keiji ❤️ - 12:18 pm]
- please im hungry
The last message startles you, seeing as Keiji always punctuated his texts because, well, he was like that. You quickly typed a reply and made sure to save your document before heading to your kitchen.
[Sweetcheeks😘 - 12:22 pm]
- I’ll be there asap Kei
— 5 years old, Kōtarō Bokuto
“Kōtarō, I need to talk to you,” his mom had said. He looked up at her, a paper hat on his head, a smile on his face. “You need to stop hanging out with [Y/N] so much, baby,”
“Why? Did we do something bad?” He frowned, not understanding. What did he do?
“No, baby, not this time,” she laughed, smiling down at him. Her smile was not full of love and joy, it was sad. “Her mother doesn’t want you two hanging out so much. She said they’ll be moving soon, so I don’t want you to be hurt anymore than you already will be.”
Kōtarō didn’t smile for the rest of the day. After he told his friend they couldn’t hang out anymore, his mother held him in her arms while he cried. It wasn’t fair.
— present day
Kōtarō had been sent home early, with his rut steadily approaching and his fights with Atsumu and Shūgo getting more intense. His ride home was full of anxiety, knowing Keiji couldn’t quite handle ruts very well since he was a Beta. Omegas were meant to handle Alpha ruts all the way through, but Keiji could only handle half of the rut. The last time Kōtarō’s cycle had started, Keiji had to come to where he was, huddled up in an apartment. Keiji couldn’t walk two days after the rut ended, even though he dealt with three out of seven days of the rut.
Kōtarō’s arrival to Keiji’s apartment was slow. His instincts told him to run, but he was able to restrain himself. Keiji opened the door almost immediately after the knock, wrapping his boyfriend in a hug. “I’ve missed you,”
“I’ve missed you, too, Akaashi,” Kōtarō said, indulging in the coffee and minty scent from Keiji, although there was a bit of pumpkin, too. He involuntary let out a growl.
“I had a pumpkin latte earlier,” Keiji immediately said, expecting Kōtarō’s reaction. Instincts came first the closer he got to his rut, Keiji had learned. He could feel the Alpha deflate a bit in his hold, just hugging and scenting. Keiji smiled at that, knowing he would be in for a rough week. “I made a nest. It’s not as good as an Omega’s-“
“You didn’t have to do that,” Kōtarō’s voice was clear and sharp, halting anything Keiji was saying. “You’re not an Omega. You don’t have to act like one,”
“I-I know, Bokuto-san,” Keiji stuttered out, the look in his boyfriend’s eyes startling him a bit. It was intense, but it wasn’t necessarily bad, per se. “I just-“
“I’m not here right now because of your sub-gender. I’m here for you,” Kōtarō’s voice was once again clear and sharp, going right into Keiji’s bones. He’s sure if he was an Omega, he’d be kneeling and begging. For fuck’s sake, he’d have probably entered a heat cycle.
“I know, Bokuto-san. I know,” Keiji leaned against him, reveling in his smell. He couldn’t scent Kōtarō or smell a distinct scent, but Kōtarō obviously came straight to the apartment after practice. He smelled like sweat and deodorant, a strangely pleasant combination.
Kōtarō let out a growl as he felt his rut come on, his hands moving towards Keiji’s ass. In turn, Keiji blushed and cleared his throat, backing up from Kōtarō. He smiled and held up a finger. Kōtarō grinned, straightening his posture. Keiji smiled and ran towards the bedroom, knowing his Alpha was hot on his heels.
The following day, the two lovers were still going at it. Keiji hardly had any rest, only getting his rest once Kōtarō needed to rest, even if Kōtarō claimed he passed out after their third round. A small tease and a mischievous grin had sent Keiji back to being railed by a feral Alpha, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Keiji threw his head into the pillows, drool spilling from his lips and he moaned, having his third orgasm of the day from Kōtarō’s forceful thrusts. On the other hand Kōtarō had only orgasmed once, knotting Keiji and spurring the Beta into a second orgasm almost right after the first. The thrusts didn’t cease, Kōtarō chasing his own release in his mate was the only thought in his mind.
“You’re so fucking beautiful, Keiji,” he groaned out, plugging him up with another knot, his orgasm following it. Keiji’s eyes rolled back, digging his nails into Kōtarō’s biceps at the sensation. It stung and was a lot more pain than pleasure, but he couldn’t complain too much.
Kōtarō finished painting Keiji’s walls white, resting his forehead against the man underneath him and catching his breath. Keiji gave him a swift peck on the lips, assuring him he was okay. However, Keiji’s stomach growled at that moment, sending heat to his cheeks.
“I haven’t eaten today,” he realized, talking out loud. Kōtarō may have been an Alpha in a rut, but he was also an Alpha with a mate. Mates needed to be protected and cared for, so his instincts told him he needed to feed his mate. Kōtarō’s eyes immediately went wide. “Don’t move!”
“Ah— sorry! I always forget,” he laughed, adjusting their position so he could lay on his side. Keiji just shook his head, smiling. Kōtarō was a wonderful mate, truly, he just happened to be overly passionate about things he cared for.
Keiji thought to you, how you’d probably enjoy having an Alpha to take care of you. Keiji knew you often overworked yourself and forced yourself to do things, trying to be as independent as possible. He couldn’t be your mate, but he’s had a thought that ends in all sides benefitting - hopefully, at least.
Kōtarō moaned as he slipped from Keiji’s abused hole, the knot finally deflating. “I’ll get you a snack.”
“I have leftovers in the fridge. Bottom left drawer,” he mumbled back, wincing from moving too much. Kōtarō immediately nodded, jogging off to the kitchen, butt-naked. Keiji couldn’t say much. He enjoyed the view.
He winced as he rolled over to his phone, glad he put it on the charger near the Nest yesterday before he got pounded into the mattress. He opened the messages, typing out a quick message for you and sending. He hoped his plan would work out well, but he had faith his calculations were correct.
Hearing the microwave beep meant the food was ready and Keiji still hadn’t gotten a response from you. He typed out another message, hoping you’d actually read this one and put his phone on the floor, face down. Just in time, too, as Kōtarō walked into the bedroom with a freshly heated plate of food.
“Food’s ready!”
— back to you
You had gathered some fruits together, slicing and dicing them as an added flair. Sliced bananas, strawberries, diced watermelon, mangoes, and sliced avocados on slices of bread and cream cheese. You felt like an American middle-aged woman about to attend a brunch with your food choices, but Keiji liked specific fruits specific ways and you knew he only ate avocados on bread with cream cheese.
The ride to Keiji’s apartment only took five minutes, but it felt like it took an hour, your anxiety eating you up at the thought of what Keiji is doing or needs help with. You assumed he needed help with something, but you weren’t positive on what. It could just be as simple as he can’t leave home because his anxiety was too high or it could be something worse — what if his mom got in an accident? The thoughts didn’t stop, making the five minutes much, much longer.
Arriving to Keiji’s apartment, you noticed how dead it seemed outside. You saw a woman on the way up the stairs who gasped as she left her apartment, quickly locking the door and running down the stairs, almost running into you. Confused, you noticed the lights seemed to be off in the other apartments, but that wasn’t too strange. It was a Saturday, but it was midday so people were probably out.
You had a spare key for Keiji’s place, seeing as you often checked up on him; he had a spare for your place, too. Entering the apartment, it was deathly quiet, putting you on edge. There was a certain air about the room that made you feel like you were in a horror movie. As you made your way to the kitchen, you noticed the messily placed dishes in the sink, the shirt in the hallway leading to Keiji’s bedroom, and the duffel bag beside the door. You’re confused. Keiji doesn’t have a duffel bag — not since the old one ripped a couple of years ago.
You ponder whether to go into Keiji’s bedroom or not, worried someone might’ve broken in —that shirt is definitely not his. That’s when you feel a presence. At first, you freeze, wondering if Keiji’s playing a trick on you. It is October after all. You place the container of fruits on the counter and hear a growl, immediately turning around to meet golden eyes and familiar hair.
His eyes were narrowed, obviously pissed, but then his face changed. He seemed confused first, then a dawning came upon him. Next thing you know, you’re picked up and having the life squeezed out of you. “[Y/N]!”
“Kō?” Your tiny voice whispers. You can hardly believe it. Your ex-best friend and childhood crush is in your best friend’s apart— uh oh. “Uh oh,”
“What-Oh?” His voice repeats, looking at you. The Alpha of your dreams is the Alpha of Keiji’s dreams—what a day it’s been. “[Y/N]?”
“I should, um, can you let me down?” He obliged, letting you stand on your feet again. “I need to, um, go. Uh, Keiji wanted fruits so I, uh, brought them. I’m gonna go,” you turned, hoping to tears would stay in until you left. You weren’t expecting Kōtarō to cage you in, effectively trapping you. As a Beta, you didn’t immediately obey an Alpha’s command, but the look in his eyes told you to stay. You obeyed.
“Don’t go. Please,” is all he said, his eyes twinkling. You shook your head, deciding this was a bad idea. “[Y/N].”
“You don’t get to act like nothing happened, Bokuto-san. You stopped being friends with me, remember? I expected you to be breeding an Omega by now. Looks like it was just me,” you spat, feeling the anger you held in boil over. The feeling of your best friend leaving you because of your sub-gender, the feeling of betrayal, remembering how your mother sighed at you and rolled her eyes, telling you she was always right and your friend would never look your way again.
“What?” He peered down at you, no longer hunching over. You realized just how tall he had gotten. “I stopped being friends because you were leaving. You being a Beta had nothing to do with it,”
“Sure, I guess now it doesn’t. Since, you know, you’re with my new best friend. It’s okay, I get it,” you once again tried to leave, but Kōtarō wouldn’t budge. “Move, Bokuto-san.”
“No.” His voice was clear and sharp. You were sure if you were an Omega, you’d be on your knees crying. “I don’t want it to end like this. I want to make amends.” Good thing you weren’t an Omega.
“Well, I don’t care what you want. Let me go,” your own eyes narrowed at him, his face not changing. His body unmoving. You rolled your eyes, deciding to not play this game anymore. Going to duck under Kōtarō’s arm, but his body moved to pin you to the counter. “Dude!”
“You smell different.” Is all the warning you got before you felt his nose in your neck. You felt butterflies at the contact, but also cringed at the display. You then noticed a shadow in the hallway. Attempting to pry Kōtarō off you wasn’t working, so Keiji got to see his boyfriend hunched over you.
“Good, you seem to be getting along again,” he said, a gentle and lazy smile on his face. Surprisingly, Kōtarō didn’t turn around at his mate’s voice, just kept rubbing his nose against you. “I hope you can take care of him,”
“Akaashi Keiji, what the fuck,” you muttered. He didn’t seem concerned his boyfriend was currently nuzzling against you. You noticed the limp in Keiji’s walk and he had one of his hands on the wall.
“I’ve been keeping track of your cycle. You should be ovulating by now. Bokuto-san has told me about his childhood friend before and it took me a while but I figured out it was you,” Keiji kept talking, limping his way to the couch. “I’ll get the fruits later. Bokuto-san, don’t hurt her too much,”
“Hurt me?” You squeaked, eyes widening at the implication. “Keiji, I can’t—“ you started, a scream interrupting your sentence as Kōtarō picked you up and hauled you to the bedroom. He displayed his strength earlier, of course, but the fact you were were on your back in what looked similar to an Omega’s Nest within seconds of the ground leaving your feet was a display that turned you on immensely. If Kōtarō wasn’t currently attempting to strip you, he would have been with the sickly sweet scent you exuded.
“I’ve been waiting for this,” he growls out, his hands deciding to rip your very nice shirt into shreds, deciding your movements to get them off were too slow. He offered the same treatment to your bra, your short scream of disbelief when it was torn. He was nice enough to pull off the pants you were wearing, along with your panties. “Ever since my first rut,” he continues, his nose buried against your thighs, his tongue licking a hot stripe against it. You whined at the contact, full on knowing he could smell your arousal. “I thought I’d never find you again.”
“Boku-“
“No. Not here. Call me your Alpha, little Beta,”
“Uh-“ you stopped, unsure of the situation. Kōtarō, regardless of your feelings, was with Keiji. That alone made you hesitant, even if Keiji literally told Kōtarō to go for it. You felt weird having to call him your Alpha anyways, since you were never subjected to those Alpha/Omega relationships. You can’t say you weren’t interested in it, often just having fun with other Betas and maybe an Alpha or two during their ruts (you vividly remember helping an attractive Alpha in your last year at Nekoma, rendering you unable to walk for the next two days). Neither of them called you by your sub-gender, nor made you call them Alpha. You obviously hesitated, taking a trip down memory lane much too long, since Kōtarō’s hand had wrapped itself around your jaw, forcing you to look at him. You didn’t think your old childhood friend would be so.. rough.
“I’m waiting, little one. Call me your Alpha,” he growled out, again. The growling was doing wonders to you, making you wetter by the second. Another growl came out, spurring you to speak.
“I- Alpha, we can’t do this. We need to talk-“
“You can try to talk, but I’m gonna fill you to the brim until my cum is seeping out of your cunt. Let’s see how well you do.” Kōtarō immediately went down to your nether regions, your folds glistening to show him just how turned on you were. Your face was hot, practically burning when his eyes locked on, unmoving from the sight. He wasn’t looking long, getting a startled scream from you as he buried his face between your legs, lapping at your juices. Your hand went to his hair, the hair as soft as you had hoped, as he continued to drink from your pussy as if it was his last drink on earth. Your other hand was bunching up a nearby shirt, one you had left at Keiji’s two days ago after a night of drinks. If you weren’t so busy rolling your eyes into your skull as your mouth hung open, moans spilling from your lips, you’d have noticed the mix of yours and Keiji’s clothes in the Nest.
Kōtarō continued to be relentless, pushing two fingers into your heat as you were clenching your thighs around his head. You were worried you’d hurt him, but he was an Alpha in every shape and form — if he wanted to stop you, he’d do it. He knows he’s in control. Adding a third finger brought you to your first orgasm of the day, feeling exhausted afterwards. Kōtarō rose from between your legs, his eyes immediately finding your glossy ones. He smiled and licked his lips. Then, wiping the slick from his lower face with his hand to get the excess that his tongue couldn’t get and then licking it off, his eyes never breaking contact.
“So sweet, I’m already addicted,” his grin got darker, his body crawling up until his hands were on both sides of your head and his lips were slotted against yours. His tongue darted between his lips, into your already open mouth, deepening the kiss. You were so in bliss from the after-orgasm high and kissing your crush, you didn’t even feel the head of Kōtarō’s cock pushing into you.
Kōtarō threw his head back, moaning at the tight fit. You mewled, it being some time since someone entered you, the feeling almost foreign. It didn’t hurt, thankfully, the wetness Kōtarō created more than enough to help him slide in. He didn’t stop, he just kept pushing in until the beginning of his knot was flush against you. Another growl erupted from Kōtarō, the only warning you got before he pulled out only to slam back in. The sudden movement had your back arching and your head against the plush pillows of the Nest. It was the green light for Kōtarō.
Your knees were pushed to your shoulders, the position momentarily uncomfortable until your mind was replaced with the burning and overwhelming sensation of Kōtarō pounding into you liked a man starved. Moans were bouncing off the walls, along with Kōtarō’s grunts, mixed with the sound of skin slapping skin as his thighs continuously met your ass. Your hands switched from fisting fabric to winding around Kōtarō’s neck as he buried his face into your neck, his panting and grunts loud in your ears. You felt the coming of another orgasm, the familiar tightening in your abdomen and the arching of your back being a few indicators. Your nails raked against Kōtarō’s back, leaving angry red streaks in their place. Another grunt from Kōtarō and you felt a painful sensation you hadn’t felt before — a knot. The added pain before the height of your pleasure sent you over the edge, mewling out Kōtarō’s name as you did.
Kōtarō had you plugged up, him spilling his seed into your hot walls. You whined at the feeling of fullness. He sighed at the feeling himself, indulging in your scent. You figured now was as good as you’re going to get to talk. “Um, Kōt-“
“Alpha.”
“Sorry,” you mumbled, rolling your eyes. “Alpha, um, this is an awkward time, I suppose, but can we talk about, like, us?”
“We don’t need to, but we can,” he looked at you, moving his position so you guys were on your sides. More comfortable for each other. “What do you wanna talk about?”
“Okay, um, the Alpha thing is weird, but I’ll let it slide since obviously you’re in a rut. Obviously Keiji isn’t an Omega, so he can’t take you throughout the entire rut. Um, I don’t wanna be your booty call for ruts, this whole situation is so fucking weird-!”
“You’re not the ‘booty call’, as you said. Akaashi mentioned he had a surprise for me, but I didn’t think he’d offer me you. After this, I hope he lets me court you, too. So I can be your Alpha, too.”
“Kō- Alpha, we’re no longer friends because you’re an Alpha. That’s why you broke off our friendship so long ago, isn’t that right? You deserved an Omega, which I am not, but you found Keiji and that is fine. I am not a part of this.”
“I don’t care about sub-genders. That’s why I’m with Akaashi. I stopped being friends because you were moving. It hurt a lot to end things, but I didn’t know what else to do. That was Mom’s advice, at least.”
You were confused. Your mother said it was because he cared about sub-genders, but now he’s saying it was because of the move? Your friendship ended before moving, yes, but it was almost a month before moving. You could have stayed friends, anyways. Did your mother lie to you? Did his feelings change? “My- My mother said you needed an Omega so I-“
“She was wrong. She’s the one who set you up with Akaashi, yeah? She didn’t even care what my family thought about us. That’s in the past, we can move past it.”
“All these years...” you muttered, feeling the tears from before coming back. The knowledge that your own mother forced your friendship to end made you angry, but everything was fine now. Kōtarō was your friend again. At least, you thought he was. “I don’t know if I want a relationship, though,”
“Too bad,” he grunted, his cock leaving you feeling empty. A whine was all you needed to do to have yourself pinned under Kōtarō again, his cock filling you up again. “I’ve been dreaming of this for so long, as if I’ll let you leave so easily.”
Kōtarō continued his relentless pounding into you, the constant fucking rendering your lower area numb. Eventually, your world went black after a— what was it, 6th orgasm? Kōtarō’s second knot was the only thing you remembered before you tuned out completely. The grunting, whines, moans, all of it faded into silence. While you had passed out, Kōtarō panicked, thinking he went overboard. Keiji’s words echoed in his mind: “Don’t hurt her too much.” Was this too much?
Kōtarō, stuck inside you because of his knot, called for Keiji to help him. Of course, Keiji came as fast as he could (not very fast, poor man is still recovering) to see Kōtarō, who is close to tears, above your blissed, fucked, and passed out form. He sighs, shaking his head. “Bokuto-san, I think you went too hard,”
“Akaashi...” he whined, his strong arms curling around you. Even passed out, your body reacted, curling into him as you softly moaned. “Akaashi...”
“It’s okay, she’ll be fine. Her body isn’t used to it. At least, not yet.” A moan from Kōtarō let Keiji know his knot had deflated, him pulling out of your cunt and the copious amounts of cum he filled you with spilling out. It made even Keiji aroused, seeing it seeping out of you. Kōtarō knew he was aroused at the sight and came upon a solution.
“Akaashi! Maybe we...”
Waking up was next thing you remember. You felt so, so full, like you were plugged up in both ends. As you flutter your eyes open. You expected to see your ceiling, having woken up from intense dream or something. You maybe even hoped to see Kōtarō grinning down at you, sweat dripping down his face and his chest. You did not, however, expect to see Keiji smiling down at you, gently caressing your face. “Kei?”
“Hey there, pretty baby. How are you feeling?” The nickname threw you off — Keiji never called you a nickname. He was very formal, even saying your last name until only recently. You obviously showed confusion, or maybe you hesitated, because a rumble was felt behind you, a familiar voice following.
“She’s probably feeling pretty stuffed, Akaashi. Stuffed full inside and out, I hope,” Kōtarō’s voice said. You turned your head, hissing at the pain in your neck, to see Kōtarō grinning at you, just like you hoped. However, wasn’t Keiji resting?
“I should thank you for the fruit. It was delicious and cut up so cutely and delicately. I was getting a bit jealous to hear Kōtarō having so much fun with you. I was hoping to have my own fun with you when he rested after his rut, but he was kind enough to share. Isn’t that nice? I don’t think I can get you pregnant, but I want to try. We’d have such cute babies together, you know?”
“I was hoping she’d carry my pups first, but you can pump her full next time. We have all the time in the world, after all.”
“Excuse me? Wait, wait!” You shouted, suddenly realizing the whole ‘filling you up’ speech wasn’t just an Alpha’s instincts — it was their intention to impregnate you. “I can’t have kids! I’m in school and-“
“I can provide for both of my mates, right Keiji?” Kōtarō said, his eyes holding nothing but love as he gazed at Keiji. It made your heart squeeze at the love between them. Keiji smiled and nodded, deciding at that time to roll his hips. You threw your head back and mewled, sensitive from the consecutive orgasms previously.
“I’m glad you’re still sensitive. There’s no evidence to back it up, but I heard the more orgasms a woman has, the more likely it is she’ll get pregnant. Of course, Omegas have a fertile cycle, but you’re a Beta, so I had to track your cycle for about three months. I hope it was enough.”
“Three months?! Akaashi Kei- oh!” You screamed, feeling Kōtarō move. He was filling up your back entrance, adding to the fullness. Also, it explained why you were on his chest.
“I also need to cut out your caffeine, that’s a bad habit you need to cut out anyways. No more nights of drinking while binge-eating. Your body needs to be in peak condition if it’s going to carry our offspring,”
“I can’t wait till you’re all swollen and wobbling. It’ll be so cute. And then we’ll do it again. And again. And I don’t know if I wanna stop, babe!” Kōtarō laughed, thrusting his hips up, making you jerk at the feeling.
“Maybe we can stop after five. We’ll need a bigger house, too,” Keiji continued, rolling his hips in rhythm to Kōtarō’s thrusts. You closed your eyes, one hand fisting Kōtarō’s hair while the other gripped Keiji’s shoulder, hoping to ground yourself. “You’ll look so beautiful when you’re pregnant. This is what our families want, after all. You’ll bear my children and Kōtarō also gets what he wants in the end. He gets his own offspring. This all works out,” he grunted, snapping his hips after almost pulling all the way out. “In the end, at least.”
If you could form a coherent sentence, you’d tell them to stop, but the only thing on your mind was how stuffed you were. Keiji was thrusting into your puffy, abused cunt that was overflowing with Kōtarō’s cum, rolling his hips every so often to increase pleasure. Kōtarō’s grunts were heightening your arousal and sending you hurling towards another orgasm. Your eyes rolled, your tongue sticking out as you clenched around Keiji, sending him towards an orgasm of his own. A curse and a stutter of his hips and he was spilling his own seed into you. He knew his genes wouldn’t take, not when you’d been pumped by Kōtarō multiple times. He had looked for the chances between a Beta and Alpha genes in a Beta, but he only got Omegas, which were made to take Alpha seed and breed easily. A small part of him wanted to try and overpower Kōtarō, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to compare to the amount you’ve already taken.
Kōtarō was still going, his strong, warm hands holding your knees to your chest, keeping you spread open, as he thrusted up into you. He knew Keiji had finished, the face he was sporting a familiar scene to the Alpha, so Kōtarō was chasing his own high. A high-pitched whine from you as Keiji rolled his hips again, earning a growl from Kōtarō in return. You pant as your hand leaves Keiji’s shoulder, ghosting over your sensitive clit as you attempt to close your thighs, overly sensitive from all the rounds you’ve been forced to go through. Keiji saw your hand brush over it, taking his own hand to replace yours and apply pressure onto the nub, rubbing it.
A scream was ripped from your throat, another orgasm around Keiji’s cock as Kōtarō buried himself, shoving his knot in your tight hole. You were twitching at the extra feeling of fullness, the hot spurts of cum in your ass and the oozing cum from your cunt, even if Keiji was plugging you up. A sigh escaped your lips, your eyes rolling back as he attempted to catch your breath. Kōtarō brought a hand to fondle your breast, earning another whine for him.
“I could get used to this,”
“So could I. Good thing we’ll get to see much more of it,”
You normally would have told them no, attempting to push Keiji off and out of you, but you just sighed, trying to kiss Kōtarō. He smiled and obliged, licking your lips before kissing you, enjoying the taste of you. Keiji smiled at the scene, bringing his mouth to your perky nipple from Kōtarō’s earlier fondling, biting gently on it. You mewled, shifting your legs up Keiji’s hips and he moved in deeper. Kōtarō growled, his hand rubbing the red and swollen nub between your legs. You wouldn’t normally let this continue, but you could hardly think.
If you could think properly, you might have noticed the bags of clothes you don’t remember bringing to Keiji’s. You might have seen the handcuffs nearby. You might have seen the extra lock on the bedroom door, so out of place. You normally would have been able to think properly, but the only thing you could think of was being stuffed with Keiji’s and Kōtarō’s thick cocks, filling you up to the brim.

Butterfly
order 015, anon: large banana milk tea with lychee jelly and pudding for Asahi
Warnings: some angst (injuries, crying mentions) and food mentions
Summary: a coffee shop! enemies to lovers! soulmate!au all in one where Asahi, an expert barista and newbie!y/n's supervisor is easily angered by small mistakes, but ends up falling for his new employee as they begin to hone their craft, and even more so when he discovers the butterfly birthmark at the nape of their neck which matches his own.
*disclaimer! i'm not a barista but am writing using the minimal experience i have acquired after working in a place that makes coffee but isn't as artsy as a coffee shop,, so please forgive any inaccuracies!
[a/n] Alex if u see this LOOK IT'S A COFFEE SHOP AU HHH
Tumblr media
After being lucky enough to get hired on the spot at your city's most famous coffee shop, you walk in on your first day, excited to make coffee and serve customers. The day does not greet you well, though, as your already nervous state is worsened when your supervisor and coworker, a dashing young man with black hair parted around his face, gives you a hard time.
Asahi is extremely cold and quiet, only yelling when he speaks to tell the employees to do their job right. He yells at you twice: once for forgetting to clean the steamed milk frother, and another time for when you serve the customers coffee that isn't fresh.
It leaves you feeling jittery to a point where you continue to make mistakes.
"[y/n], finish that order and meet me in the back," Asahi tells you, his voice completely emotionless.
Once you join him in the back, you find him sweeping, his hair falling in his eyes and prickling his nose. As soon as he notices you're there, he puts the broom away, pushing the hair out of his eyes before he turns to face you.
"[y/n], I realize that it's your first day, but you're doing an absolutely terrible job," he says.
"Our work here is more fast paced than you think, and if you can't handle it and keep getting nervous and slipping up, then I don't think we can keep you here."
Your bottom lip begins to tremble hearing the harsh criticism on what is only your first day, but luckily, a coworker who overheard everything steps in.
"Hey, Asahi! Big boss man, calm down. It's only their first day... stop being so hard on them," your coworker says, placing an arm around you.
When you look to see who it was, you discover that it's Junkyu, your bright and happy coworker who always does his job with a smile. Even just seeing him makes you smile, and he smiles back at you, patting your head.
"[y/n] is doing just great, so you can shut up!" Junkyu huffs, dragging you out and back onto the floor.
You may wonder why Junkyu was being so rude to his boss, but Asahi and Junkyu are actually close friends, so it's okay for them to get mad at each other like this.
"Don't listen to Asahi. He's like an old man sometimes," Junkyu says.
"And it's okay to get nervous! I was spilling so many things everywhere on my first day. Just take your time..." Junkyu explains, showing you how to do all the things that you messed up on before.
Asahi watches from the other side of the shop, feeling angry at the sight of Junkyu being so close to you, for some reason. He also thinks... he sees something on the back of your neck that matches his own birthmark, but he shrugs it off, telling himself he's just seeing things.
-
With the worst luck, you continue making mistakes every time Asahi shows up, and he scolds you for it in front of your coworkers and the customers each time. Sometimes, you have to rush to the break room to catch your breath and even cry it out, stare yourself down in the mirror and tell yourself that you're doing a great job.
"You're doing great, [y/n]! Don't worry about Asahi... you're doing great," you say.
Asahi, who is in the back of the shop in search of coffee grinds, overhears your pep talk and smiles to himself, immediately frowning as soon as you step out of the break room and face him, though.
"What are you doing? Get back out there!" he says.
You leave quickly and don't notice Asahi smiling at the way you waddle towards the front.
-
Despite being nervous at the beginning, your barista skills improve rapidly. You're able to master latte art after only a week and a half, creating pretty designs that are different for each customer. Your designs gain popularity and the shop grows busier with people waiting for you to hand them a pretty latte that you've designed.
Asahi still doesn't seem to want to give you praise of any sort, though, as he constantly points out your mistakes.
"It looks good, but does it taste good? You clearly went too heavy on the milk."
Even his your coworkers grow tired of Asahi, and everyone starts calling him angry bird Asahi behind his back with the way his eyebrows are pointed in a frown each time he comes to scold you.
For you, though, it doesn't matter anymore. You've found something you love and are improving in it rapidly, so Asahi's bitter attitude can't harm you anymore.
-
One short-staffed day, you're alone, closing the shop alongside Asahi. The two of you clean up in silence, save for Asahi's hushed hums as he sweeps.
Not noticing a paper bag on the ground, you trip on it and fall on your knees and hands.
Your yelp leaves Asahi rushing over, even though you thought he would just ignore your pain.
"[y/n], what happened?! Are you okay?" he asks, leaning down.
He pauses midway, staring at the back of your exposed neck. His fingers reach out in disbelief to touch what he sees, but he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable and stops himself.
A butterfly birthmark, just like the one on the back of his own neck. A shared butterfly birthmark in the same location: a sign of soulmates.
"I'm okay, I'm okay. I just tripped.
"Y-you're not bleeding or anything, right?" Asahi asks, suddenly breathless.
"Nope, all good!" you say, standing up and feeling confused at Asahi's flustered state.
"Are you okay? Why do you seem so panicked?" you ask.
"I'm... I was just worried that's all," he quickly says, returning to where he was sweeping.
He really found his soulmate despite not believing in the butterfly soulmate thing anyway....
-
Asahi is really weird around you for the next week, not scolding you anymore but just being super quiet and seemingly cautious around you. Everyone is confused as to what happened to angry bird Asahi, and feeling a little worried yourself, you approach him in his office on your break one day.
"Is everything okay, Asahi?"
"Hm? Yeah... why wouldn't it be?"
"I don't know... you just seem more quiet than usual."
Asahi stares at the ground, wondering if he should tell you about your shared birthmarks.
Ah heck, let's just go for it, he thinks to himself.
He swivels around in his hair, turning his back to you and holding up his hair at the back of his head.
"Does this look familiar to you?" he asks, pointing to the birthmark at the nape of his neck.
You gasp, feeling the back of your own neck.
The birthmark looks exactly the same...
"Wha-?"
"I don't know what to do. Because frankly, I don't believe in any of this soulmate crap, but we're really soulmates..." Asahi says.
Your eyes, on the other hand, are sparkling. You've believed in soulmates since the beginning and always wondered who would have the same birthmark as you. It's weird to think that angry bird Asahi is your soulmate, but you don't want to lose this chance.
"What else do we do but go on a date!" you say, hugging his arm out of excitement.
Asahi glares at you and you pull away, clearing your throat.
"Friday after work! Wait for me and we'll go somewhere," you say, excitedly leaving Asahi's office.
He places a hand on his heart, feeling it beat a little faster than usual.
-
Friday, you notice Asahi's hair is looking a little different - all straightened, neat and tidy. Asahi also doesn't fail to notice that you're looking a little fancier than your usual self. Even Junkyu bothers you about it, asking why you look really prim and proper today.
When Asahi's shift ends, he has an hour to kill until yours does, so he spends that time in his office at the back, watching you make pretty drinks with you latte art through the security cameras. He has a full view of your butterfly birthmark and suddenly wonders what it would be like if he was able to kiss it.
Finally as soon as your shift ends, you rush out, forgetting to say goodbye to everyone unlike you usually do, but also forgetting to punch out. Asahi reminds you to do that as soon as you step into his office. The way he smiles when you swing open the door, his teeth peeking out while his eyes hide away, makes you feel like he's happy to see you... though he's just giggling at your mistake.
Once you're punched out and ready to leave, you step out of there and take the bus to an art gallery that you've always wanted to explore. You notice Asahi staring down into your lap as you ride the bus, shyly looking at your hands, fidgeting his own and then looking away. You become the brave one for the both of you and take his hand in yours, smiling at the window when he looks at you.
You take your time looking at the artwork, both of you quietly walking while holding hands. You only talk to ask each other if you're ready to move on to the next piece.
After some time, though, Asahi speaks up and asks you if he can take a photo of you standing in front of a butterfly painting.
"Just keep looking at it and I'll take a photo from the back."
Once he stands behind you, you feel awkward and stiff in front of the camera, and it probably shows, as Asahi asks you to relax.
"Just be like you usually would!"
You try your best and Asahi eventually takes the photo.
"Can I see?" you ask him.
"Later," he says, smiling down at his phone.
On the floor below the gallery, there's a place to grab food and the two of you do just that, gushing about how cool the art in the gallery was and what your favourite pieces were. Asahi tries to imitate this robot statue you saw made of metal, and it makes you laugh so hard that you almost get kicked out.
"Asahi, I never thought you would be this fun," you say.
"Well, at work I do have to be somewhat professional," he says, smiling at you.
"At work you're just a jerk," you mumble, thinking Asahi can't hear you, even though he does.
He decides to stop being so hard on you at work, and actually follows through. Work becomes more enjoyable without angry bird Asahi and with all of the dates you go one with Asahi after work. Eventually, the two of you start to officially date, and Junkyu is shocked to his core.
"H-how did this happen...? And why did no one tell me!" he screeches when he finds out.
-
Asahi presses his lips to the back of your neck in the dark of the room, his lips curving into a smile when he hears your giggle.
"What are you doing, Sahi?"
"Something I've always wanted to do," he says, burying his face into your chest.
It's his turn to giggle as you run your fingers through his hair, tracing his butterfly birthmark with your finger.

Part One: Shattered Heart Part Two: Troubled Heart
  ♡
As soon as you put the phone down, you were frustrated that you didn’t tell Chris that you loved him; of course you did. Nothing he could do would make you not love him, you committed your life to him and he was your husband, obviously you’d always love him. And then you realised, there is no shame in that. Even though he cheated on you, even though he broke your heart, there would always be love between you, forever and that was okay.
The clarity in your rationalised epiphany put your mind at ease. You knew that you were heading into this conversation with Chris with a clear mind, you knew you wanted to try and solve your issues without fighting, without causing a scene.
Taking a deep breath, you began to brew a pot of coffee as you heard keys unlocking your front door.
You turned around, and there he was. Standing at the other side of the breakfast bar, looking as handsome as ever, wedding band reflecting the sun coming through the patio doors. You subconsciously play with your own wedding ring, feeling an odd sense of relief knowing neither of you had taken them off.
“Hi..” you breathe out, surprisingly happy to see him.
Chris shuffled closer to you, blatantly nervous but wanting to be near you. You were apprehensive but didn’t stop him as he leaned in and kissed your cheek tenderly, hand delicately touching your waist.
Breath hitching in your throat at the titillating contact, you move away abruptly, unnerved by the arousing thoughts that enthralled your mind. Busying yourself with pouring two mugs of coffee, Chris sits at the breakfast bar waiting for you.
You sit opposite him, passing him a coffee as he mutters a thanks. His voice is gruff, as if he hasn’t spoken to anyone in two weeks and that’s when you notice he looks a little gaunt. Dark circles under his eyes and slightly scruffy hair adding to the look that insinuates he hasn’t been sleeping well. Your heart falters marginally, just purely because you hate seeing him like this, no matter the situation. That is what you tell yourself anyway, silently commanding yourself to not feel guilty for these circumstances, Chris has bought this all on himself.
Even as you tell yourself that, you hate how it sounds. That’s not you. You’re sympathetic and caring, and you love Chris, you shouldn’t want to see him punishing himself but that seems to be what he has done to you without even knowing; he has turned you into a nasty character.
Having an internal fight with yourself, you want to make small talk but you just can’t, you don’t have it in you to be civil and act nonchalant when there is a dark cloud looming over your marriage. Life is too short to dance around a conversation this important.
“So, um, I’m not going to dance around this because I’ve had two weeks to really digest what’s happened and think about what it means for us, for our marriage..”
Chris takes a sip from his coffee and looks at you, eyes boring into yours like you’re literally holding his heart in your hands, ready to mend it or crush it.
“I’m angry Chris. I’m really angry because even on my darkest days, when I was feeling like our marriage was falling apart, when I was feeling so alone; I never ever thought about kissing someone else. You have always been my only choice, yet you chose someone else?” It sounds like you’re asking him but in reality, you know he already chose someone else over you.
Your voice was shaky, tears already threatening to spill down onto your cheeks but you revel in how freeing it feels to tell Chris exactly what you are feeling. Your emotions finally organised enough to speak your truth.
Chris stays quiet, clearly knowing you well enough to know that you need to carry on telling him how you feel.
“..And I’m fucking sad Chris! All I keep thinking about is how, for the past year, I’ve been sacrificing my time to follow you around the world, sacrificing my happiness to spend minuscule amounts of time fighting for our marriage and you just came to expect it from me. You kept work as your number one priority and let me fall into second place, even when it jeopardised my happiness.”
“That was never my intention Y/N! I never wanted or want you to feel like that. Your happiness is so important to me, I promise it will never happen again!”
“Chris, you threw our marriage away. Like it was disposable and we could just be two friends living together, like we didn’t promise to spend our lives together. You can’t pretend like it’s going to be okay moving forward, because what if I don’t want to move forward?”
Your breath caught in your throat as your words hovered in the air. You knew that was serious statement to blurt out but you knew that you unintentionally meant it otherwise you wouldn’t have said it. This conversation was going to be full of hard truths and you knew this wasn’t a time to hold back, your marriage was at stake.
“Baby, you don’t mean that? Of course you want to move on, we both do. Put this behind us!” You could hear the panic in Chris’ voice.
“How can you say that? How can you say you want to move forward and you want me to move forward when you’re the reason its crumbling in the first place? You put us in this mess! You still have to see this woman every day, how do we move past that?”
You felt sick to your stomach. Never in a million years did you think you would be having this conversation with Chris, especially not once you said your vows. You had made promises and a bond that could never be broken yet here you were, trying to hold the pieces together.
“Chris, you told me you’d love and cherish me forever, you told me that on our wedding day. I told you that you were it for me, and you said it back to me, you-“, your voice broke as the tears started to fall, no longer being able to stay strong.
After your tears had subsided, you sniffed and dried your eyes, determined to raise your points.
“And you.. you said it back to me Chris. You told me I was your number one always, that I was your endgame, forever, infinitely yours. Yet, here I am, wondering why I’m second best to another woman.”
You exhale with force as you begin to feel slightly lighter after getting that off your chest. It definitely doesn’t feel good to admit that you’re not sure if your marriage has a future but you know you have to be truthful. Having so much more to say, you bite your lip to control your word vomit, knowing this is a conversation and not a speech; Chris needs to be allowed to say his piece too. Awaiting his response, you shudder as he reaches out and takes your hands in his.
“Y/N, sweetheart, you are my number one. That hasn’t changed, it never will. I love you. I married you because I want you, you have all of me, always.” He squeezes your hand tighter, putting emphasis on his words but also emphasis on his grip, subconsciously telling you not to let go.
“I know I sound like a broken fucking record sweetheart, but I am so sorry I kissed someone else, it was dumb, so fucking dumb and I can’t explain why I did it. I was just so lonely, so detached from you that I craved comfort.”
“I was fucking lonely too Chris! How do you think I felt when you were at work all the time surrounded by hundreds of people whilst I was sat at home alone trying to think of ways to save our marriage!” You snapped, yelling loud.
Chris sighed, releasing your hands and raising his own in defence.
“Sorry, I.. I didn’t mean it like that. I understand that you were lonely and I was too, we have to respect that we both felt the same but dealt with it very differently. But baby, I could be surrounded by hundreds or thousands of people at work but it would make no difference to me because they weren’t you.”
Knowing Chris was coming from a sweet place, you took a deep breath, needing a minute to collect your emotions before speaking.
“I’m sorry I snapped but it feels like we are going in circles Chris, it’s de ja vu from last year. When I told you how I was feeling, you just dismissed it to make the problems disappear but that’s not how this works. Solving our problems means we have to talk about them..” You could feel yourself getting emotional, working yourself back up into an exasperated state. “..but when you tell me that you feel really lonely because I’m not with you, why is your first though not to come home to me? Why did you continue to go out and kiss another woman? It clearly wasn’t that fucking lonely for you!”
You rolled your eyes dramatically. Feeling this overwhelming satisfaction with your vicious snipes, you knew this would quickly become a fight. The communication barrier was shattered and you had become spiteful, and it was only a matter of time before Chris followed suit.
Chris stood up, cursing angrily as the legs from the stool scraped against the wood flooring. Throwing his hands up in disgust, he scoffed.
“Argh seriously Y/N? What did you just say about not dismissing one another’s feeling?! And here you are, telling me I can’t be lonely because I kissed someone else! Me feeling lonely is the exact fucking reason I did it in the first place!!”
Chris was shouting now, his voice bellowing throughout your marital home. You stayed sitting as the anger poured from his body, feeling equally as bitter.
“So am I meant to assume that every time you feel lonely now, that you’re going to go and kiss another woman? Soon, when you’re feeling really lonely you’ll be fucking someone else! We are married Chris! Shit, I’m meant to be your wife, I’m meant to be the one you kiss and fuck! How would you like it if I went and kissed someone at work because I was sad?” You sneered, desperate to get under his skin now.
“Don’t be so ridiculous, I told you it was a mistake, a one-off! It’ll never happen again! We can sort this out!”
As both your words became more heinous, you couldn’t control yourself. The fact that Chris was now trying to sort out the problems that you’ve been trying to fix for a year just because he got caught out, was diabolical. He had fucked up and was paying the price and he couldn’t handle that. He was coming across like the victim and it was making you queasy.
“Are you fucking serious Chris!! I have been trying to sort out these problems for the past year and you’ve been having none of it, telling me that we are fine and the tough time would pass. Yet here we are..”
You hated what you were about to say but with the anger coursing through your veins, you couldn’t stop yourself.
“..Here we are, teetering on the edge of a fucking divorce because you couldn’t stay loyal to your own wife, because you couldn’t be a decent husband, a decent fucking human being and care about someone else but yourself!!”
The words hung in the air like someone had screamed bloody murder.
Without even realising, you had stood up and was now opposite Chris, chest heaving after spitting such venom in his face. Chris was staring at you like you had unleashed a monster, a raging devil that you had been hiding for a while.
You looked at him, eyes heavy and chest thumping. You bit your lip; terrified of your confession but power hungry from the buzz that being brutally honestly had given you.
Chris only raked his eyes over your body once before he was stalking towards you, pushing and pinning you against the counter, left hand instinctively wrapping around your throat, eyes dark with lust and desire.
Growling in a low, fierce tone, he muttered, “I’ve fucking cared for you every damn day of our marriage, I’ll never stop fucking caring for you because you are my wife. Mine. And I’ll never touch another woman again, because this..” He pauses to grind his cloth covered cock against you. “..this is too fucking good to give up.”
With those words snarled into existence, his lips were on yours. Ravishing you like water in a drought, starved of what he wants, what he owns. And in a really twisted way, you loved it. You were craving his dominance, his power to control you with his touch. No matter what happened, you would always surrender to him because you needed him, you wanted him.
You couldn’t help but whimper as Chris’s hand moved from your throat and travelled down to your hip, leaving a burning path over your breasts and down your stomach in his wake.
“Look at my pretty wife, all desperate for me.” Chris smirked as he trailed kisses all over your neck, pining you harder against the counter to control your squirming. You were ravenous for Chris and you were absolutely fed up of trying to hide it.
He pulled your dress over you in one swift movement, leaving you in just your panties. You looked back up at Chris with lust filled eyes whilst his own eye fucked your now almost naked body.
You couldn’t wait any longer whilst he enjoyed the view, you were too desperate for him.
“Chris, please..” you begged.
Your lips crashed back together furiously, teeth and tongues clashing instantly. Chris continued to assert dominance, lifting you up onto the counter easily and thrusting two fingers inside of you; eager to watch you submit your body to him. You gripped onto his shoulders as he held you up with one arm on the surface, still kissing him like your life depended on it.
But suddenly, it felt like it wasn’t enough, you needed to be closer to Chris, you needed to feel closer to Chris. Starting to fumble with his jeans, you knew what you wanted. It only took Chris a few seconds to realise your desires and he was clearly more than happy to comply, allowing you to undo his jeans and push them down far enough to pull him free from his boxers. Your mouth watered at the sight of him, your core tightening around his fingers at the feeling you knew was coming.
He pulled his fingers out of your core, bringing them to his lips and licking them clean. Your stomach flipped at the view in front of you but your core ached to feel him inside of you again.
“Two weeks without tasting you is far too long baby girl..”
You groan before he smacks his lips against back against your own, even more turned on at the thought of tasting yourself on his lips.
Chris pulled back sharply, grabbing a fistful of hair at the back of your head and forcing you to look down between you both whilst the other hand guided himself to your entrance. Chris was already fully hard, ready and waiting for this moment, this feeling.
“I want you to watch baby. I want you to see me taking what’s mine. I want you to remember that there is no one else that can make you feel this good, remember that no one else can satisfy me like you do. This is mine, you’re mine and I’m taking it back.”
You felt weak under the spell Chris was casting on you. Hanging off of his every word, you felt like the twenty-something girl that met Chris all those years ago, giddy at your obsession with one another. Giddy with the feeling of being happy and in love.
Chris pushed into you. Your eyes rolled back at the feeling of him stretching you open, pushing himself further and further into you until you had swallowed him whole. Your mind reeling at the feeling you’d missed so badly.
Immediately picking up the pace, Chris was thrusting into you harshly, hitting the spot that only he could find. Your kisses were sloppy, rushed and desperate as he kept up his relentless pace.
You knew this wouldn’t last long; the culmination of passion, urgency and anger fuelling the fire you were feeling that you had been craving for two weeks now. The desperation of needing to feel your husbands touch was intense, but neither of you wanted it to last long. It was clear this wasn’t about love or reconciliation, this was about need and ownership; proving that you only belonged to one another, no matter what happened. This was a reminder of that feeling, to anchor yourselves together again.
As Chris maintained his toe-curling pace, your fingers fumbled down to your clit, clumsily dancing over the sensitive bud and adding to your already overwhelming pleasure.
Chris looked at you before spitting a splurge of saliva down onto your clit, moistening the area against the touch of your fingers. As it dripped through your fingers and over your clit and core, you were fiercely encompassed with your desire for this man. This sex was filthy, messy and downright the sexiest fuck you’d ever had together.
As you looked back up at Chris, panting heavily from your arousal, you kissed him lewdly. Biting down hard on his bottom lip, you pulled it in between your teeth; drawing out his own chokes of pleasure.
Chris was close, you knew he was but so were you. The feeling of powerlessness washed over you as your orgasm began to build. Chris was in complete control of your body, clawing to pull every inch of pleasure to the surface before he let you cum. His thrusts became erratic, pushing you further than ever before as your body started to tremble.
“Chris, please..”, you begged again.
“I told you this was too good to give up baby girl! Take it, take all of me!”
With your legs trembling, you gripped Chris’s biceps tightly, nail marks cutting into his perfect skin as your orgasm shot through you. Chris grunted a ‘good girl’ as you came and his thrusts faltered, his own orgasm jolting through his body.
You stayed there, heads resting together and chests heaving, the only sounds filling the room was your dizzying panting.
Slowly, as your head returns from the clouds, you realise what you’ve done. The repercussions of having sex with Chris amongst this mess was only going to complicate things further. How do you tell Chris that you might want a divorce after doing that with him? How do you make an educated decision with that playing on your mind? This man consumes you, his love consumes you and you never want to lose it but are you just love-drunk, not seeing the bigger picture?
Chris brings you back to reality, helping you down off the violated countertop. You quickly redress, never giving Chris eye contact and staying silent. Your head spinning from the last hour; from arguing and screaming to fucking on the kitchen counter.
“Sweetheart, are you alright?” Chris says sheepishly.
You look at him and shake your head, muttering a ‘no’.
“Look Y/N, I know we said a lot of things we didn’t mean-”
“Chris, stop..” you cut him off, “I meant everything I said. This isn’t something we can dodge, we have to be truthful, our marriage is on the line and I really don’t think you understand that?”
“But.. I- We just..” Completely at a loss for words, Chris stays quiet.
“I think you should leave Chris.” You whisper as yet another tear falls from your eyes.
Chris just nods his head, noticeably shocked by your words. He quickly kisses your cheek before hurrying out the door. As soon as the door shuts, you collapse onto the wood floor. Feeling Chris over every part of you, you feel even more confused than earlier. Your mind and body clearly want Chris, so why isn’t it that easy for your heart to make that decision?
