And just to be clear, writing dissertations at me justifying why he should instead be a conventionally attractive twink will involuntarily cause me to draw him with even fewer teeth.
im incredibly normal about doppelganger stories. like. the thing with doppelgangers is so interesting to me because. it makes the person think about themselves in a way like "....could i do that?" like if the doppelganger is evil the person sees this person who looks exactly like them do horrible stuff and they have to think.... would they be able to do that? is there smt like that in their heart or whatever.
the mayor and hotguy just inserted themselves in this i dont make the rules but anyway theyre both evil right? but in different ways.
mayor is corrupt in the way that he doesnt care about the environment and the capitalist ways of his mayorship tho right- hotguy on the other hand literally beheads people to bring them to his king. and its not even for his king, he does it because he wants to. he uses the king as an excuse. if the king told him to do something he didnt want to do? hed turn on him in a second. hotguy does things for himself, hes violent and he likes that. the king just gives him a legal excuse to kill people
anyway yes take this incredibly self indulgent thing that ive been thikning about while waiting for my pizza
What's the Mayor up to in Castle Town? Has he and the two Shaker Siblings managed to adjust? More importantly, does Mayor get along with Queen?
The residents of Saloon Town are adjusting quite fine. Lancer finally has a posse of his own with the Shaker Sisters! Finally some kids his age! (The shaker sisters specialize in explosives🧨 perfect for a new Lancer Bike!)
And the Mayor only has eyes for his one true love- MONEY! 💰
Just wanted to say you kinda opened my eyes with your post about public transit a month ago. I am deathly afraid of public transportation. I guess seeing all the news and videos of horrible things happening on buses and subways made me ignorant of the fact that it’s just people. It’s just people. And that’s awesome. I’m gonna go ride a bus and thank the driver
I would never claim that nothing terrible happens on the bus---I've read those news stories too, to deny that it's possible would be flatly incorrect. Even in just my personal experience, there are dismissive, rude or belligerent people everywhere. People smell...different, especially when everyone is sweating through their winter coat, and unfortunately we can't convince certain members of the human race to buy some damn headphones. Still, I've been living in Chicago since 2010 and have never owned a car; I take a lot of buses and ride in a lot of taxis, I've biked from River North to Edgewater, taken the El from O'Hare down to Woodlawn, and ridden the Metra to the surburbs, to other states.
And I love public transit. I write about how much I love it with an almost unwell frequency---how it's a vehicle for grace, how the people who work there can be delightful, that it brings you into contact with people you wouldn't ordinarily meet. I still think about this article from Chicago magazine, where CTA workers were interviewed to talk about the highs, lows, and general insanity of the job. To recount every person I've had an unexpected conversation with, or shared a meaningful glance, or just admired from a distance as they gave up their seat, would take more time than any of us have.
Ultimately, everyone has to make their way through the world. When you realize that that's all people are really doing on the bus---or the train, or the subway, or the streetcar, or whatever other public transit is available to you---the idea of sitting alongside them doesn't seem so monumental. Everyone there just wants to get where they're going, and maybe arrive a little better than when they left.
headcanon that jason reads to cass. well, it started as him reading to cass -- she got to work on her literacy, and he got to share his favorite books with someone -- but it kind of isn't just cass anymore.
tim was the first to join them. he'd sit at the end of the couch and listen. jason's got a good voice for reading, very calm and measured, and having that sort of steady, relaxed sound in the background made tim feel comfortable enough to fall asleep to the sound of his brother reading.
damian, oddly enough, was next. he walked into the library one day, fully prepared to dye tim's hair purple or something while he was asleep, but he came across jason reading aloud and short-circuted a bit. he didn't get read to growing up in the league of assassins, so the concept was pretty foreign to him. but he kind of liked it. so he sat down in one of the chairs and listened.
dick's Sibling Bonding Radar just went off one afternoon and led him to the couch in the library. tim was already asleep and damian was settled into the armchair, entranced, so it was cass that made eye contact with him and put a finger to her lips, telling him not to interrupt. not that dick was going to -- he was already stretching out on the floor, careful to be absolutely silent so as not to disturb the peace.
steph, kate, duke, and barbara don't live at the manor, but every time they're in the house during this self-imposed quiet time, they'll find a spot on the couch or the floor to listen. in the kind of life they have (the one where you dress in kevlar and spandex and go out at night to punch people) (or during the day to punch people) (or you run an enormous computer to help the people in the kevlar and spandex... okay you get it) it's nice to have some quiet time with their family.
Vlad is such a perfect male wife. He's so adorable when he looks desperate and lonely but even in this condition he can give the warmth and care for the person he loves.I just can't---
Danny, please, be gentle with this honey milk baby. When you grow up, Vlad can become the best wife for you.
