So I watched the animated Legion of Super Heroes and I just can’t. I can’t with straight Supergirl anymore. Mon El as a villain? Phenomenal. Do I hate Brainiac 5? No. But the romance doesn’t work for me. Despite its flaws, once you’ve seen Supercorp, the plot beats and heteronormativity of Kara and Brainiac 5 just can’t compete. You also can’t convince me Sasha Callie’s Supergirl was straight either.
Preach. While it was hilarious to see Mon-El as a villain and have Kara kick his ass (which now makes 3 separate versions where that ship has been buried one way or another by DC, The CW, WB, etc) ... I'm honestly so sick of watching them do the same things with Kara again and again and again, especially on the romantic front, and it's entirely uninteresting for the most part.
I mean it's pretty ironic that the single best love story she's ever had in any medium was the queerbaited one between she and Lena Luthor in TV series, ffs.
Until they realize that the concept of Kara/Lena (aka the real "Supercorp" despite a couple of DC writers recently attempting to st-- I mean conveniently use the exact LGBTQ fan-created phrase, a very similar logo to the LGBTQ fan-made one and even utilize some eerily similar SC elements from the SGCW TV series) is a literal GOLD MINE of creative opportunity and money to be made... they're going to just continue to rinse and repeat the same dull shit and wonder why most people simply just don't care and they can't break out of the box (except with a couple limited runs like WoT which have no love interest).
Kara/Lena as a romantic couple literally subverts a 60+ year lore of Super vs Luthor -- taking it from a story of hate to a literal love story, and also bringing the characters back to some rather interesting and queercoded dynamics they already demonstrated between the two way back in the Silver Age comics.
Interestingly, DC has already toyed with a sapphic Supergirl in various versions already. In Bombshells: United #33 she kissed Lois Lane. In DC's Dark Knights of Steel Miniseries in 2021, they had Supergirl and Wonder Woman in a queer relationship. And with the CW tie-in Batwoman comic run for DC, the author recently subtly confirmed Kara/Lena as dating.
So why continue to go back to the same old outdated, bland, repetitive heteronormative angle that doesn't even sell enough to maintain a long-running Supergirl solo comic series, lead the show to be critically panned half the time and end on a flop note with furious fans, etc? Inexplicable, beyond the usual blind spots and phobias.
At some point, somebody will wake up and smell the creative potential and profits. Until then, we wait. And keep pushing, creating fan art and fanfic, etc and show 'em how it's done.
It'll happen eventually. I have faith. I fully believe it. Whether it's in a year, five, ten or twenty. It'll happen. Greatness cannot be ignored or avoided forever. 😉 Some day...

Bracket(??) Announcement!
I have FINALLY (which I am very sorry for guys) finished going through my submissions and have created something that looks like a bracket. BUT, in order to include the most characters, I have devised a group round with 128 characters divided into 8 groups and have sorted them in a way that prevents this competition from becoming a batman vs spider-man final.
making the polls shouldn't take nearly as long so be on the lookout for those! this will be pinned and I'll make sure to edit this post with links to the polls, and matchups are not necessarily going to be heroes next to each other! matches can be made up by any two heroes in the same group
polls will last a day for now and one group will be posted per day
as of right now top 4 from each group will make it to the bracket round but that is absolutely subject to change so don't count on that

Ironic like literally she is risking lives, Clark is right . Like wtf letting you kill yourself to prove a point is beyond worse
I can remember at least one instance where Lois Lane threw herself into danger to get Superman's attention. This is nothing new, but it's still kinda iffy, when you think about it deeper.
But this whole situation reminds me of Sophie Moore in Batwoman learning that Kate Kane was the titular charcter and being mad that Julia Pennyworth knew about it and didn't tell her (as if it was Julia's secret to tell). The same lack of understanding that not revealing a secret is not always the same as lying. Also Sophie too, at some point, worked against Batwoman and Kate just revealing her identity to her could pose some risks.
Now let's compare and contrast how Iris West in S1 of The Flash reacted to the knowledge that Barry and her father, Joe, were keeping the identity of The Flash from her. Iris is actually quite reasonable with her anger, especially because Joe's main argument to keep her in the dark was that they were "protecting her" and Iris points out that if she knew who Flash was and what's going on, she would "have helped (...) put the bad guys away, instead of being in the way". For the most of The Flash S1, Iris was supportive of the Flash, even defending him from detractors (only after Flash vs. Arrow she turned against him and it didn't last for long), and Barry himself didn't tell her anything only because of Joe's insistance.
To this day I think that Iris West's reaction is one of the best scenes in Arrowverse as a whole, because it challanges the "lying to protect her" notion as something that doesn't work in the long run.
At the same time for a long time I was of opinion that Kara Denvers should tell Lena Luthor that she's Supergirl, if only because they were friends; but then the writers threw a granade into the relations between Kara and Lena and just telling Lena the truth seemed like it should be done when these relations would be mended. And then Lena learned about Kara's secret in the worst possible way - from Lex - and for the next season she was vengeful as fuck.
There are also external issues, like how the superhero is perceived by the populace (see: Arrow and Daredevil).
Anyway, you're totally right that Clark is right (sic!), but I think that there are two main problems that arise in this kind of situations:
The hero still lies to their friends and family to cover their secret (like that time with Clark saying he cut himself) and that can be disrespectful and kinda iffy in the long run.
Whenever they reveal their secret identity or not, it always comes down to trust. If someone learns about their loved one's secret identity, one of the first things they will think about is whenever their loved one trusted them to reveal the secret on their own or if that someone had to be told by the third party or figure it on their own.
What I'm trying to say is this: Lois feels disrespected and hurt by Clark keeping such a secret from her (something that many people can relate to on some level), but at the same time Clark points out that many of her actions didn't prove to him that she can be trusted with such a secret. And Clark himself who is figuring his identity on his own may not be ready to tell about it to anyone but his parents.

Arrowverse Rewatch - Crossovers Part 2
Duet: This is a very polarizing episode and I get why, but for me its a complete delight. Perhaps it should have happened a little earlier in The Flash season, but as an episode of its own, its just so much fun. Unlike the previous Flash/Supergirl solo crossover, this really is a true crossover because Supergirl's ongoing relationship drama is front and center along with Flash's. So this isn't a case where Kara is really anyway secondary to Barry in the episode. With a pretty talented cast of Arrowverse singers, the episode is a blast and the actors are clearly enjoying doing something different. Again, the core success of this episode lies on Grant and Melissa endearing buddy chemistry. To me, this is a 8.5/10.
Crisis on Earth X: Now this was definitely Arrowverse crossovers at its peak. With all 4 shows combined, this is definitely the coolest crossover. This was a crossover which felt like closest to a movie. While previous, crossover episode kept focus on the characters from the show whose crossover episode it was, as in, The Flash crossover episode would focus more on The Flash cast etc..., here there is no such main focus. And this is really the only crossover that really feels like that. Its one of the darker crossovers, with the presence of Nazis and much more consequences that previous crossovers, with the death of Stein occurring in the final episode. But there is also a lot of fun to be had, be it the action, like the wedding fight scene, or just individual character moments, like the girls getting their nails done while Oliver and Barry get their tuxes, Sara and Alex hooking ep etc... We also get some fun doppelgangers, like Leo Snart and General Schott. The villains are also easily the strongest of any crossover. It helps that we have existing Arrowverse actors playing these roles. The action is terrific, particularly the wedding fight and the climactic fight in the last episode where we get Flash vs RF, Supergirl vs Overgirl, and Green Arrow vs Dark Arrow. My only complaint is that it does feel that Flash gets a bit shortchanged character wise, given it was supposed to be centered around WestAllen wedding. However, its easily the best of the major crossovers. A 9/10.
Elseworlds: I read that filming Crisis on Earth X basically killed the cast and crew from exhaustion. So Elseworlds was comparatively a much smaller crossover. In essence, this crossover really returned to the core of the Arrowverse crossovers, which is Barry and Oliver's relationship. The first episode of Elseworlds, when dealing with the body switching, is really a lot of fun. The episode makes great use of Grant and Stephen's chemistry and how they play off each other. Then we also insert the always delightful Melissa into the mix as Kara. The trio dynamic is a lot of fun, although it is fair to say that Kara feels like the third wheel throughout the crossover. It was pretty nice to introduce Clark and Lois to the Arrowverse gang. The problem with this crossover is that it is essentially a prelude to COIE. There is stuff in this crossover that is just setup, like E-90 Barry Allen, who enters and then disappears. The middle episode also spends a fair bit of time on Batwoman and trying to setup some sort of dynamic between Kara and Kate, which never really panned out to much outside of COIE. The first episode of the episode is the highlight, with the body switching comedy, and the second episode carries some of that over while introducing Gotham, but the final episode is a bit of a letdown. For a Supergirl episode, Supergirl herself was trapped in a cage for most of the episode. Tyler Hoechlin ended up being the most prominent Supergirl oriented presence in the episode. Still, it was really enjoyable and we definitely got Grant, Melissa, and even Stephen loosen up and have a lot of fun with the material. A 8/10
Crisis on Infinite Earths: By far the biggest crossover ever attempted, and, as it turned out, unfortunately the last true crossover event. COIE is honestly a bit of a mixed bag. Some of it is because of the unfortunate and uncontrollable aftermath. COIE in essence promised a unified E-1, with characters from Supergirl and Black Lightning now existing on the same Earth as the Flash, Legends, and Batwoman. But due to Covid, and due to shows ending/getting cancelled, that has never been able to be utilized much outside of a little bit on Armageddon in The Flash season 8. Essentially, the promise of the ending of COIE was never fulfilled and will now never be. But even outside of the uncontrollables, the crossover is a mixed bag. There is a lot of fan service in this crossover. While some of it is fun and unexpected, they don't really add much to the overall crossover. Be it the DCEU Flash cameo, Lucifer cameo, Smallville cameo etc... none of them really amount to anything substantial other than it being a celebrity cameo. Also, there are aspects of the storytelling that just feel pointless. In the first episode, there is a subplot about Sara, Lois, and Brainiac 5 meeting an AU Oliver, which just diverts attention from the main Crisis. There is a whole subplot in episode 3 of the crossover with Kara and Kate just walking around the ship, fronting up with one another. There is also the trip to purgatory which leads to nothing. Then in episode 4, there is the Kara, Ryan, and Lex subplot which again is meaningless. In general, I did not understand the point of bringing in Ryan Choi. His presence in the battle at the end of the 4th episode looked kind of silly. Also, this crossover was clearly the case of ambition overreaching ability. There was clearly not enough of a budget to have all the actors available for the episodes. For example, the final battle in Legends episode has so many missing heroes. Despite all the negatives though, there is still a lot of fun to be had. Brandon Routh's Superman was one of the highlights for me. It was great to see him back in the role as well as Ray Palmer. Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, and Caity Lotz did a bulk of the heavy lifting in the crossover as they are present across all episodes. Stephen Amell is surprisingly light in the crossover, given it his farewell. He only appears as a body in episode 2 and very briefly in episode 3, and not at all in episode 5. There are some nice Barry and Oliver moments in hour 4, and an unexpectedly nice moment between Barry and Sara, which is not a duo I have seen interact solo elsewhere. I quite liked that the final episode of the crossover embraces a lighter tone compared to the heavier previous hour. The ending, with the tribute to Oliver, as well as the new team formation is well done. I really hope DC in the future is able to to Arroverse team ups in the future since all the characters who created the team are still alive, even if the shows are done. Overall, an uneven crossover that was still an ambitious effort. A 7/10.

*romantic song plays in a SuperCorp scene*
Fans: HAH GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
SuperGirl producers: No it’s not. It’s not even a romantic song.
The singer who wrote and sang the damn song: IT IS A ROMANTIC SONG. SUPERCORP IS ENDGAME.
SuperGirl producers: Stop saying that. It’s not romantic. It’s very platonic. Using it isn’t gay.
Batwoman producers: BITCH, IMMA SHOW YOU IT IS A ROMANTIC SONG YOU USED FOR TWO PEOPLE WHO DESPERATELY LOVE EACHOTHER BY USING IT IN OUR SHOW IN A MAKE OUT SCENE BETWEEN TWO WOMEN. CHECK-FUCKING-MATE.
SUPERCORP ENDGAME, BITCHES.

The show: Kara comparing her relationship with Lena to her relationship with William who the show pushes as a potential romantic partner, spends an entire episode with a dude who can bend reality wishing to fix her relationship with Lena/ Also the show and every HetTM there is: they're just fRiEnDs!!! / I am as dead inside as Alexs and Lenas characterization
Hahahaha you mean you didn’t enjoy the William-Lex-Winn show last night? ;) To quote JJ himself: they’re just FRIENDS!
Alex was in the synopsis yet her and Brainy’s Big Story was resolved in one minute. Not to mention the ugliness of her finally quitting the DEO because Lex now runs it - not because of the horrid things the DEO has always done and she’s been a part of for the entirety of her career. So cheap and easy, it grates my last nerve. At least Brainy gets to have some integrity and make a courageous choice to help the cause? Sigh.
Now The Luthors are joined at the hip and a package deal for this Leviathan storyline? This current arc retained Lex but threw out basically everything that made the S4 Luthor-Super-Danvers story so compelling. It’s crawling along at such a snail’s pace, too. Imagine 10 more episodes of this.
For the A plot: Winn was as relevant as the lawn furniture for two seasons before he officially left, and I’m afraid the sentimentality of game nights and karaoke at the bar with the OGs isn’t quite enough to carry this story. I wish I was more moved by the Toyman stuff, but it felt like yet another detour when the post-Crisis stories should be 150% focused on the fallout for the main characters.
