i really love how dc realized theyd made their two most prominent male leads physically fucking indistinguishable out of costume, and they just leaned into it by having them swap outfits a bunch

#clark and bruce trade clothes more often than a gay couple #and yes it would be extremely cute for them to be dating #but i think clark's bi in that way where he thinks everyone is and bruce wouldnt know what attraction was if it lit the batsignal #so everyone keeps assuming theyre doing this for gay reasons but theyre both completely oblivious to it

Saw posts about Mey Rin having that Carmilla Story, and can't help thinking... what if Grelle saw Mey had that Story??? 😳😳😳

For context: Written in 1872 by Sheridan Le Fanu, years before the publication of Dracula, Carmilla featured a queercoded vampire—namely, the titular lesbian character—before it was cool! 🖤🦇

During Kuro’s murder mystery arc, Arthur observes puncture wounds on Patrick Phelps’s neck (actually left by one of Snake’s snakes), and Irene Diaz notes that they’re reminiscent of a vampire bite, just like in Le Fanu’s work. Later on, while Mey Rin and Ran Mao are investigating Irene’s luggage, the maid learns that the opera star is older than she appears, and then stumbles upon a bottle filled with a mysterious red liquid. Recalling the strange bite marks, she starts to wonder…could Irene be a vampire herself?! 😱

All this to say—while Mey is aware of the tale of Carmilla, she might not have actually read it in canon. But you know what? I’m sure our bi queen could find space for this Gothic romance on her shelf!

Grelle’s accepted that she has a teensy-tiny (by which she means MASSIVE) crush on Mey Mey. How could she not, when the other woman is irresistible? Alas, given how enamored she is of that handsome devil Sebas, Mey Rin’s almost certainly straight…but one day, while they’re discussing the latest books they’ve read (I headcanon that they share similar tastes in literature) the maid begins gushing about how she adored Carmilla.

“I just wish it had ended differently, yes I do…a-and that Laura and Carmilla could’ve stayed together!” she squeaks, blushing softly.

Grelle’s ears instantly perk up. She shouldn’t read too much into it…but…hmm…

Feigning a casual tone even though her heart is suddenly pounding like mad, the reaper asks if Mey Rin would interested in similar books about ‘intimate female friendships.’

“Because if you are, darling…I could give a few recommendations.”

Thus begins their two-woman subtextually sapphic book club, where the pair bonds over queer Victorian literature while maybe, just maybe, kindling a romance of their own. 😉
